Abstract

Method for treating an area of ​​living tissue, comprising the application of a gas-, air- or vapor-tight enclosure around or against the tissue area to be treated, providing a connection between the enclosure and a device for providing, under the control of control means, a time-variable pressure within the enclosure. According to the invention, the time-variable pressure comprises time regions with positive pressure and time regions with negative pressure with respect to the ambient pressure outside the said enclosure. For the treatment of a human or animal, the control means shall preferably be designed to regulate the variable pressure under the influence of the value of signals derived from the condition of the human or animal concerned, as measured by one or more sensors.
