Abstract

This invention relates to method, in vivo and in vitro for mass production of entomopathogenic nematodes as a biological control agent for laboratory use and small scale field application against agricultural pest. In vivo production has managed to sustain as a cottage industry. In vivo production is likely to continue as small business venture for niche markets. For in vivo production eight Pakistani strains of entomopathogenic nematodes were mass cultured using G. mellaonella larvae at different concentrations and in vitro production were carried out in soya and wheat flour medium. Average in vivo production potential at were 14 x 106 infective juveniles and in vitro production potential ranged up to 50* 10 6 inefective juveniles.
