AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing space frame assemblies for building components are labor-intensive to assemble, require specialized equipment for hoisting, and often have limited configurational flexibility, particularly in forming multi-level work platforms.

Method used

A modular space frame system utilizing a limited number of interchangeable components that can be assembled at elevation, featuring interconnection structures and joists that allow for articulation and connection of multiple levels, enabling the creation of versatile and adaptable work platforms with multiple levels.

Benefits of technology

The system reduces assembly time and labor, eliminates the need for specialized hoisting equipment, and allows for the creation of customizable work platforms with multiple levels, enhancing flexibility and efficiency in construction and maintenance tasks.

Abstract

A method of assembling a modular space frame support system includes providing a first frame including at least four interconnection structures, at least four joists, and a plurality of interconnection structure brackets. The method further includes providing a second frame including at least four interconnection structures, a plurality of interconnection structure brackets, and at least one of four chords or four joists, each of the interconnection structure brackets coupled between a first end and a second end of a respective one of the interconnection structures. The method further includes providing at least one of a diagonal chord and a vertical support and coupling the at least one of the diagonal chord and the vertical support to at least one of the interconnection structure brackets of the first frame and at least one of the interconnection structure brackets of the second frame.
