Abstract
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONField of the Invention
[0001] The present invention relates to a cushion or mattress and, more particularly, to an inflatable cushion.Description of the Related Art
[0002] A conventional inflatable cushion 10 in accordance with the prior art shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 comprises an upper surface layer 11, a lower surface layer 12, an upper adhesive film layer 13, a lower adhesive film layer 14, a filling layer 16, and an air valve 15. The filling layer 16 is mounted between the upper surface layer 11 and the lower surface layer 12. The air valve 15 is mounted on the upper surface layer 11. In use, air is introduced from the air valve 15 into the filling layer 16 so that the filling layer 16 is inflated and expanded. However, when an article, such as a pillow, a sleeping bag, another inflatable cushion or the like, is placed on the conventional inflatable cushion 10, the article easily slips on the upper surface layer 11, thereby causing inconvenience to the user. When the upper surface layer 11 is provided with a Velcro tape, the conventional inflatable cushion 10 may be used to connect an article with a Velcro tape. However, the Velcro tape is locally arranged on the upper surface layer 11, so that the article is located at a determined position that cannot be adjusted freely according to the user's requirement. In addition, the Velcro tape is made of hard material, thereby easily causing an uncomfortable sensation to the user when lying on the conventional inflatable cushion 10.BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0003] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide an inflatable cushion with functions of combination and assembly.
[0004] In accordance with the present invention, there is provided an inflatable cushion comprising an upper surface layer, a lower surface layer, an upper coating layer, a lower coating layer, and a filling layer. Peripheral portions of the upper surface layer, the lower surface layer, the upper coating layer, and the lower coating layer are sealed and fused. The filling layer is mounted between the upper surface layer and the lower surface layer. The upper surface layer is made of an elastic hook and loop fastener formed by warp knitting. The upper coating layer coats and covers a bottom of the upper surface layer. The upper coating layer may be adhered to the upper surface layer. The upper coating layer is air-tight.
[0005] Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)
[0006] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a conventional inflatable cushion in accordance with the prior art.
[0007] FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the conventional inflatable cushion taken along line A-A as shown in FIG. 1.
[0008] FIG. 3 is a perspective view of an inflatable cushion in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention.
[0009] FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view of the inflatable cushion taken along line B-B as shown in FIG. 3.
[0010] FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view showing two inflatable cushions and a connecting member before assembly.DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0011] Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 3 and 4, an inflatable cushion 20 in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises an upper surface layer 21, a lower surface layer 22, an upper coating (or adhesive film) layer 23, a lower coating (or adhesive film) layer 24, a filling (or packing) layer 26, and an air valve 25.
[0012] Peripheral portions of the upper surface layer 21, the lower surface layer 22, the upper coating layer 23, and the lower coating layer 24 are sealed and fused. The filling layer 26 is mounted between the upper surface layer 21 and the lower surface layer 22. Preferably, the filling layer 26 may be made of foam cotton, air, goose down or other materials that can keep warm. The air valve 25 is mounted on the upper surface layer 21.
[0013] In use, air is introduced from the air valve 25 into the filling layer 26 so that the filling layer 26 is inflated and expanded. Thus, the inflatable cushion 20 is placed on the ground to facilitate the user lying outdoors. In addition, the filling layer 26 provides a warming function.
[0014] The upper surface layer 21 is made of an elastic hook and loop fastener (or fabric) formed by warp knitting. The upper coating layer 23 coats and covers a bottom of the upper surface layer 21. The upper coating layer 23 may be adhered to the upper surface layer 21. The upper coating layer 23 is air-tight (or air-impermeable).
[0015] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the elastic hook and loop fastener of the upper surface layer 21 is made of polyester, Nylon, wide knitting fabric or textile cloth formed by warp knitting.
[0016] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the lower surface layer 22 is made of an elastic hook and loop fastener (or fabric) formed by warp knitting. The lower coating layer 24 coats and covers a top of the lower surface layer 22. The lower coating layer 24 may be adhered to the lower surface layer 22. The lower coating layer 24 is air-tight (or air-impermeable).
[0017] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the elastic hook and loop fastener of the lower surface layer 22 is made of polyester, Nylon, wide knitting fabric or textile cloth formed by warp knitting.
[0018] In practice, an article, such as a pillow, a sleeping bag, another inflatable cushion or a warming pad, is placed on the inflatable cushion 20. The article has a surface with a hook-and-loop fastening function. Thus, when the article is placed on the upper surface layer 21 of the inflatable cushion 20, the article can be positioned at any position of the upper surface layer 21. At this time, the upper surface layer 21 is constructed by warp knitting to form a soft contact face, thereby providing a comfortable sensation to the user when lying on the inflatable cushion 20.
[0019] Referring to FIG. 5 with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4, a connecting member 3 is mounted between two inflatable cushions 20 to connect the two inflatable cushions 20. The connecting member 3 has a top layer and a bottom layer each having a hook and loop fastening function. Each of the top layer and the bottom layer of the connecting member 3 is made of an elastic hook and loop fastener (or fabric) or a Velcro tape.
[0020] Accordingly, the elastic hook and loop fastener is fully distributed on a whole face of the upper surface layer 21, so that an article with a hook-and-loop fastening function is combined and assembled with the inflatable cushion 20 at any position of the upper surface layer 21 to satisfy different requirements of the users. In addition, the elastic hook and loop fastener is fully distributed on a whole face of the upper surface layer 21, and the upper surface layer 21 is constructed by warp knitting to form a soft contact face, thereby providing a comfortable sensation to the user when lying on the inflatable cushion 20.
[0021] Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the scope of the invention.
