Description

[0001] BOTTLE FOR LIQUID

[0002] Field of Technology

[0003] The invention relates to the design of bottles for liquids that are usually consumed in small, arbitrary portions, such as alcoholic beverages, as well as food oils, sauces, syrups, etc.

[0004] Art of Invention

[0005] It is well known that liquid from an uncorked bottle is usually dispensed in portions. A portion is formed by tilting the bottle to create a stream of liquid that flows from the internal volume of the bottle to the outside. The speed of liquid release from the bottle depends on the cross-sectional area of the stream and the density of the liquid. To stop the release of liquid, the bottle is returned to an almost vertical position. Under such conditions, when dispensing each subsequent portion, some of the liquid flows onto the outer surface of the bottle's neck. In all cases, this leads to irreversible loss of liquid, which will continue to flow out of the bottle due to inertia until the neck is positioned higher than the liquid level in the bottle. The liquid that spills out due to inertia lands on the outer surface of the bottle and contaminates it.

[0006] From the state of the art, a technical solution is known from Japanese patent document JP2020097428A, which describes a bottle for liquid with a hollow body and a bottom, and a neck with a flange located below the upper edge of the neck and exceeding it in diameter. Unfortunately, this neck design does not effectively interrupt the stream after the release of each portion of liquid and, consequently, does not prevent the contamination of the bottle's outer surface.

[0007] Essence of the Invention

[0008] The invention aims to improve the geometric shape of the neck to create a bottle for liquid that effectively interrupts the stream after dispensing each portion of liquid, thereby preventing contamination of the bottle's outer surface. This objective is achieved by a liquid bottle with a hollow body and a bottom, and a neck with a flange, which is located outside and below the upper edge of the neck and exceeds it in diameter. According to the inventive concept, the neck has an internal conical chamfer that serves as a diffuser for the dosed liquid in the working position.

[0009] This design allows the stream of liquid from the side surface of the neck to be interrupted when pouring each subsequent portion. As a result, it significantly facilitates the interruption of the stream after dispensing each portion.

[0010] The first additional feature is that the chamfer has a conical shape, and the generatrix of the cone surface is inclined to the axis of symmetry of the neck at an angle a from 20° to 50°. Within this angle range, the most effective stream interruption occurs.

[0011] The second additional feature is that a circular groove is made in the neck between its upper edge and the upper edge of the flange. This facilitates the capture of the last drops when interrupting the liquid stream. The presence of only an external ring on the existing flanges does not provide the necessary result. The effect is achieved by the combination of the external ring with the internal chamfer. The transition between the edge of the flange and the circular groove has a conical shape and is formed at an angle 0, which ranges from 15°.

[0012] The third additional feature is that a thread is formed in the neck between the upper edge of the flange and the lower edge of the flange. This allows the neck of the bottle to be sealed by screwing a cap onto the thread. Unlike sealing the neck with a cork, the thread allows simple and convenient multi-cycle opening / closing of the bottle without applying additional force to the neck, thus preserving the integrity of the bottle.

[0013] Brief Description of the Drawings

[0014] The essence of the invention is further explained by a detailed description of its construction and usage features, with references to the attached drawings, where:

[0015] Fig. - Bottle for liquid (in longitudinal section with the lower part conditionally removed). The following designations are used in the attached drawing:

[0016] DI - outer diameter of the flange,

[0017] D2 - inner diameter of the circular groove,

[0018] Bl - height of the chamfer in the inner part of the bottle's neck,

[0019] B2 - height of the cone in the upper part of the flange from the upper part of the circular groove to the upper part of the flange, a - angle of inclination of the generatrix of the chamfer cone to the axis of symmetry of the neck,

[0020] P - transition angle between the edge of the flange and the circular groove, which has a conical shape,

[0021] R - thread.

[0022] Best Embodiments of the Inventive Concept

[0023] When the bottle is tilted, the neck lowers to the level of the liquid inside the bottle. As soon as the chamfer of the neck reaches the liquid level in the bottle, the liquid starts to flow out of the bottle. The liquid will flow around the chamfer and reach the edge of the flange. The flange is characterized by an upper part and a lower part. When the bottle is returned to the vertical position, the edge of the flange will cut off the stream, and the liquid will stop flowing out of the bottle. The portion of the liquid that continues to flow out due to inertia will enter the circular groove. Thus, spillage is reduced to nearly zero, and the contamination of the outer surface of the bottle is prevented.

[0024] The thread implies the presence of helical projections whose diameter exceeds the size of the outer diameter of the flange. The helical projections are made solid.

[0025] Increasing the angle a, which forms the chamfer, reduces the pouring edge, which facilitates the smooth outflow of liquid from the bottle.

[0026] 1. The larger the angle , the lower the likelihood of liquid trailing down the bottle.

[0027] 2. The greater the difference between diameters DI and D2, the lower the likelihood of liquid spreading along the neck of the bottle. 3. By increasing the angles a and 0, and reducing the diameter D2 to the diameter DI, the design becomes the most effective, as proven in practice.

[0028] Industrial Applicability

[0029] The proposed bottle for liquid, suitable for dispensing various products in portions, can be mass-produced using existing glass processing equipment. With this design, the weight of the bottle does not increase, thus not becoming more expensive. A metal cap with a seal can be used for such a bottle.
