Description

[0001] DENTAL DEVICE FOR DENTAL REHABILITATION

[0002] FIELD OF APPLICATION

[0003] 001 The present invention relates to the field of dental devices for dental rehabilitation, particularly applied in the area of implantology, which is dedicated to the restoration and reconstitution of the function and aesthetics of teeth and oral structures, which is a crucial part of dentistry that ranges from the correction of dental problems to the improvement of patients' quality of life.

[0004] STATE OF THE TECHNIQUE

[0005] 002 Osseointegration, or osseointegration, is known in the state of the art. It is the stable and functional union between a bone and a metal surface, preferably titanium. This process is very common in dentistry for the surgical placement of dental implants in patients requiring restoration.

[0006] 003 To achieve an excellent result, the implant must be anchored in a sufficient volume of cortical bone. However, the patient's jawbone does not always have the necessary bone thickness or volume for stable placement of the dental implant.

[0007] 004 In these cases, a surgical technique used in dentistry to increase bone height in the upper jaw region, known as a sinus graft or sinus lift, is recommended. This surgical procedure aims to create additional space for dental implant placement when bone height in the jaw region is insufficient due to bone resorption or the patient's natural anatomy.

[0008] 005 However, an important factor is bone healing, or osseointegration, which can take several months and is essential to ensure implant stability. Therefore, in cases where the patient has very little bone area for implant anchorage, the surgeon must initially fill the maxillary sinus without inserting the implant. They must wait approximately six months before performing a new implant placement surgery, after which the tooth can be inserted a few more months later.

[0009] 006 An example of the state of the art is US2016143714, which discloses the use and insertion of a stend to elevate the maxillary sinus floor of a patient requiring a dental implant. However, this method and use does not reduce the total treatment time, as the patient must wait for the stend to osseointegrate before placing the implant.

[0010] 007 Another example of the prior art is document WO201 0135451, which discloses dental implants for fixed and removable prosthetic devices and for other devices, such as orthodontic devices, and has applications for the replacement of a single tooth, e.g., caps and crowns, and the replacement of multiple teeth using one or more implants, e.g., bridges and multiple implants for total and partial prosthetic devices. However, the patent document does not disclose an implant with features that reduce the total treatment time.

[0011] 008 Aiming to contribute to technological evolution and overcome gaps in the state of the art, the present invention provides a dental device applied in dental rehabilitation with implants, with or without the need for elevation of the maxillary sinus.

[0012] 009 Thus, an objective of the present invention is to provide a dental device configured by an implant equipped with a flexible temporary guide and a fixation element equipped with at least one lateral tab and a set of holes. 010 Thus, advantageously, the dental device allows a reduction in surgical time, since the flexible temporary guide assists in the insertion and fitting of the fixation element into the implant.

[0013] 01 1 In the same advantageous way, the dental device allows a reduction in the total treatment time, since the fixation element assists and accelerates the osseointegration process, in addition to increasing the anchoring area of the implant, since osseointegration occurs together with the fixation element inside the maxillary sinus.

[0014] 012 Schematic figures of a particular realization will be presented below, the dimensions and proportions of which are not necessarily real, as the figures are only intended to didactically present their various aspects, the scope of protection of which is determined solely by the scope of the claims interpreted by the detailed description.

[0015] BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

[0016] 013 The object of the present invention will be better understood in light of the detailed description that follows in its preferred, but not limitative, embodiment, which is illustrated by the attached schematic drawings.

[0023] 021 Figure 7 illustrates a perspective view of a jaw with the dental device (D), showing a way of implementing the fixation element (3), using a semi-flexible mesh.

[0024] 022 Figure 8 illustrates a perspective view of a jaw with the dental device (D), highlighting one way of implementing the dental implant (1).

[0025] DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0026] 023 According to Figure 1, the state of the art indicates that implants, with or without bone grafting, are already used in patients requiring dental restoration. However, no fixation method is used to help secure the implant in the patient's jaw. Therefore, implants are inserted during the grafting process, or in some cases, the maxillary sinus is initially elevated before the implant is inserted, which disadvantageously prolongs dental treatment even further.

[0027] 024 As represented by the other figures, the present invention relates to a dental device applied in the preparation of the dental rehabilitation site with implants, with or without the need for elevation of the patient's maxillary sinus. 025 Thus, according to figure 2, the dental device (D) is configured by a dental implant (1), a guide (2), a fixation element (3) and a support element (4), with one end of the guide (2) being attached to the dental implant (1), while the other end of the guide (2) is free for insertion and passage of the fixation element (3) and the support element (4).

[0028] 026 Thus, the dental device (D) allows the dentist greater agility, since the professional can insert the guide (2) attached to the implant (1) through the cavity that was opened for insertion of the implant (1) until he can grab the free end of the guide (2) in the other cavity that was opened in the patient's maxillary sinus and subsequently correctly adjust the dental implant (1). Next, the professional inserts the fixation element (3) using the free end of the guide (2), which directs said fixation element (3) directly to the dental implant (1) that is already positioned in the jaw together with the support element (4).

[0029] 027 The next step, also performed by the professional, is to screw the dental implant (1), using a thread (10), into the fixing element (3) through a threaded hole (30) until the support element (4) is anchored to the patient's gum. Similarly, the fixing element (3) is similar to a nut, while the support element (4) is similar to a washer.

[0030] 028 Preferably, the support element (4) comprises a set of micro-holes and is semi-flexible, allowing the professional to bend it manually, ensuring that said support element (4) can be molded according to the anatomy of the maxillary bone edge. In this way, this set of micro-holes allows for the acceleration of healing in the operated area, since said set of micro-holes allows blood conduction to the bone and gingival tissue regions. 029 And finally, once the dental implant (1) and the fixation element (3) are attached, the dentist removes the guide (2) by pulling it slightly, separating it from said dental implant (1).

[0031] 030 In order to facilitate the handling of the dental device (D), the guide (2) is configured by a wire, cable, rod or other flexible material that allows it to be used as a guide and not bend during the insertion of the fixation element (3) and support element (4), that is, it must be rigid enough not to flex and allow said guide (2) to be molded to the path between the dental cavity and the open cavity in the patient's maxillary sinus.

[0032] 031 Advantageously, the fixation element (3) promotes a larger anchoring area for the dental implant (1), since the area of said fixation element (3) covers a larger area of the patient's maxillary sinus floor. In addition, the fixation element (3) comprises a set of holes (31) that expands this anchoring area, since the set of holes (31) accelerates and aids osseointegration, ensuring that the fixation element (3) is fully integrated into the patient's natural bone structure or the graft made during surgery, thus promoting faster healing and greater stability to the dental device (D), allowing the dentist to reduce the total time of dental treatment.

[0033] 032 Thus, according to figures 4, 5 and 6, the fixation element (3) also comprises at least one tab (32), with the aim of improving the fit and accommodation of said fixation element (3) inside the patient's maxillary sinus. However, it will be understood that the fixation element (3) may comprise several tabs (32) in order to better mold to the geometry of the patient's maxillary sinus.

[0034] 033 According to figure 7, with the same objective of improving fit and accommodation, in another embodiment, the fixation element (3) can be configured by a semi-flexible mesh, which is manually adjusted by the dental surgeon, so that the fixation element (3) has a shape similar to the patient's maxillary sinus. In addition, the semi-flexible mesh is configured by a plurality of openings that help to accelerate the osseointegration of the maxillary sinus.

[0035] 034 Still aiming to improve the handling of the dental device (D), as illustrated in figure 8, in another embodiment of the invention, the dental implant (1) may comprise a body similar to a screw, the tip of which is capable of making an opening in the semi-flexible mesh that configures a form of embodiment of the fixation element (3). In this way, as it is inserted, in a threading movement, the dental implant (1) promotes the opening and locking of the flexible mesh in the floor of the patient's maxillary sinus.

[0036] 035 The person skilled in the art will readily perceive, from the description and the drawing represented, several ways of implementing the innovation without departing from the scope of the attached claim.
