Abstract
Description
Hot end structure, print head of three-dimensional printer, and three-dimensional printer
[0001] This application claims priority to the Chinese patent application with application number 2023111150603 filed with the State Intellectual Property Office of China on August 29, 2023, and priority to the Chinese patent application with invention title “A hot end structure, a print head for a three-dimensional printer, and a three-dimensional printer”, all contents of which are incorporated by reference into this application. Technical Field
[0002] The present application relates to the field of three-dimensional printers, and in particular to a hot end structure, a print head of a three-dimensional printer, and a three-dimensional printer. Background Art
[0003] A 3D printer (also known as a three-dimensional printer or stereo printer) is a type of rapid prototyping equipment. The 3D printing technology currently available for 3D printers is fused deposition modeling (FDM). FDM is a technology that uses digital models and uses materials such as powdered metal or plastic to construct three-dimensional objects through layer-by-layer printing. Specifically, a 3D printer using FDM technology uses a feeding mechanism to supply hot-melt filament material to the hot end of the 3D printer, where the hot-melt filament material is heated to a molten state. The hot end can then extrude the molten material onto the print plate while moving along the 3D printer's printing path, printing out the three-dimensional object layer by layer.
[0004] The hot end of a filament typically consists of a heat sink, a throat, and a heating zone. The throat provides thermal insulation. In related art, hot ends often require high maintenance and replacement frequency, causing significant trouble for users and maintenance personnel. Furthermore, the hot end is fixedly connected to the printhead body in the heat sink, creating a long cantilever structure. The throat is the weakest point of the structure, placing high demands on its load-bearing capacity.

[0048] The implementation of the technical solution of the present application is further described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0049] 1 , a schematic diagram of a hot end structure according to an embodiment of the present application is shown. The hot end structure may include the following components:
[0050] The hot end assembly 100 includes a heat sink 110, a throat 120, a heating block 130 and a nozzle 140 connected in sequence;
[0051] A heating seat assembly 200 , used to heat the heating block 130 ;
[0052] The fixing assembly 300 is used to detachably connect the hot end assembly 100 to the heating seat assembly 200 , and when the hot end assembly 100 is connected to the heating seat assembly 200 , the heating block 130 is fixedly attached to the heating seat assembly 200 .
[0053] In this embodiment of the present application, the hot end structure comprises three parts: a hot end assembly 100, a heating base assembly 200, and a fixing assembly 300. Referring to Figure 2, the hot end assembly 100 comprises a heat sink 110, a pipe 120, a heating block 130, and a nozzle 140, which are connected in sequence. The heat sink 110 dissipates heat from the heating assembly into the air through the tip's heat release effect. The pipe 120 guides the filament, the heating block 130 heats the filament into a molten state, and the nozzle 140 extrudes the molten filament to print the model.
[0054] The heating seat assembly 200 can be connected to the heating block 130 and heat the heating block 130 when connected to the heating block 130 so that the heating block 130 can heat the wire material.
[0055] The fixing assembly 300 can detachably connect the hot end assembly 100 and the heating base assembly 200. That is, the hot end assembly 100 and the heating base assembly 200 can be fixedly connected under the action of the fixing assembly 300. When the fixing assembly 300 is released, the hot end assembly 100 and the heating base assembly 200 can be separated. The connection between the hot end assembly 100 and the heating base assembly 200 refers to the connection between the heating block 130 and the heating base assembly 200. When the hot end assembly 100 is connected to the heating base assembly 200, the heating block 130 is fixedly attached to the heating base assembly 200. The heating block 130 and the heating base assembly 200 have a large heating area, so the heat on the heating base assembly 200 can be more efficiently transferred to the heating block 130. In addition, the heating block 130 and the heating base 220 are attached and connected, and the heating block 130 serves as the force-bearing area. The connection between the fixing assembly 300 and the heating block 130 reduces the length of the cantilever structure, reduces the force on the throat, and avoids deformation of the hot end assembly 100.
[0056] The embodiment of the present application comprises a hot end assembly 100, comprising heat sink fins 110, a throat 120, a heating block 130, and a nozzle 140 connected in sequence; a heater base assembly 200 for heating the heating block 130; and a fixing assembly 300 for detachably connecting the hot end assembly 100 to the heater base assembly 200. When the hot end assembly 100 and the heater base assembly 200 are connected, the heating block 130 is fixedly attached to the heater base assembly 200. The detachable connection of the hot end assembly 100 and the heater base assembly 200 by the fixing assembly 300 facilitates maintenance and replacement of the hot end assembly 100. Furthermore, since the heater base assembly 200 is fixedly connected to the 3D print head body, the hot end assembly 100 is connected to the print head body at the heating block 130, thereby reducing the stress on the throat 120 and reducing the possibility of the hot end assembly 100 being bent and damaged by stress.
[0057] In an optional implementation of the embodiment of the present application, referring to FIG. 1 , the fixing assembly 300 is rotatably connected to the heating seat assembly 200 ; when the fixing assembly 300 is rotated to a first preset position, the fixing assembly 300 squeezes the heating block 130 to fit the heating seat assembly 200 .
[0058] In an embodiment of the present application, the fixing assembly 300 is rotatably connected to the heating base assembly 200 and can rotate about its own axis. When the fixing assembly 300 is rotated to a first preset position, the fixing assembly 300 can press the heating block 130 into contact with the heating base assembly 200. The first preset position can be determined based on the type of fixing assembly 300. For example, if the fixing assembly 300 is fixed left and right, the first preset position is one of the angles of rotation along the left and right sides. For another example, if the fixing assembly 300 is fixed up and down, the first preset position is one of the angles of rotation along the top and bottom sides. For example, as shown in Figure 3, the first preset position is the highest rotational position of the fixing assembly 300 on the heating base assembly 200. When the fixing assembly 300 is rotated to the highest rotational position, the heating block 130 is pressed into contact with the heating base assembly 200, allowing the heating base assembly 200 to heat the heating block 130 more efficiently.
[0059] In addition, when the fixing assembly 300 rotates to the second preset position, the heating block 130 can be separated from the heating seat assembly 200 .
[0060] In an embodiment of the present application, the fixing assembly 300 can also be rotated to a second preset position, which corresponds to the first preset position. The second preset position can be determined according to the type of the fixing assembly 300. For example, if the fixing assembly 300 is fixed left and right, the second preset position is one of the angles of rotation along the left and right sides. For another example, if the fixing assembly 300 is fixed up and down, the first preset position is one of the angles of rotation along the upper and lower ends. When the fixing assembly 300 is rotated to the second preset position, the heating block 130 is separated from the heating seat assembly 200, so that the heating block 130 can be separated from the heating seat assembly 200 without removing the screws. As shown in Figure 1, when the fixing assembly 300 is rotated to the lowest rotation position, the heating block 130 is separated from the heating seat assembly 200.
[0061] In an optional implementation of the present embodiment, the heater base assembly 200 is fixedly connected to a 3D printer head. The 3D printer head refers to the print head of a 3D printer. Therefore, the hot end assembly 100 is connected to the print head body at the heater block 130 , thereby reducing the length of the cantilever structure and, consequently, the stress on the throat 120 , minimizing the possibility of bending and damage to the hot end assembly 100 .
[0062] In an optional implementation of the embodiment of the present application, referring to Figure 4a, the heating seat assembly 200 is fixedly connected to the three-dimensional printing head body by metal screws, and the heat dissipation fins 110 have magnetic elements 111. When the hot end assembly 100 is fixedly connected to the heating seat assembly 200, the magnetic element attracts the metal screws and fits with the heads of the metal screws.
[0063] The heating seat assembly 200 is fixedly connected to the three-dimensional printing head body by a metal screw. The metal screw passes through the three-dimensional printing head body and the heating seat assembly 200 to fix the three-dimensional printing head body and the heating seat assembly. Corresponding holes are provided on the heating seat assembly 200 to be connected with the metal screws. The heat sink fin 110 has a magnetic element, which can be a permanent magnet or an electromagnet, and this embodiment of the present application does not limit this. When the hot end assembly 100 is fixedly connected to the heating seat assembly 200, the magnetic element fits with the head of the metal screw based on its own magnetic field. This method enhances the pre-positioning effect of the hot end assembly 100 and the heating seat assembly before installation, and facilitates the installation of the hot end assembly.
[0064] In an optional implementation of the embodiment of the present application, the heating block 130 has a first plane, and the first plane is aligned with the second plane of the heating seat assembly 200 .
[0065] The heating block 130 has a first flat surface. Accordingly, the heating base assembly 200 has a second flat surface that matches the first surface. When the heating base assembly 200 and the heating block 130 are aligned, heat is transferred through the contact between the first and second surfaces. This surface-to-surface heat transfer improves heat transfer efficiency.
[0066] In an optional implementation of the embodiment of the present application, referring to FIG4b , the heating base assembly 200 has a first stopper structure on its plane. When the first plane and the second plane are aligned, the first stopper structure abuts against the edge of the first plane, thereby limiting the relative movement of the heating block 130 and the heating base assembly 200 in at least one direction parallel to the first plane. This approach can improve both pre-positioning during installation and positioning after installation.
[0067] A first limiting structure may be provided on the plane (which may be the second plane) of the heating seat assembly 200 . The first limiting structure may be a shape limiting structure or a limiting member limiting mechanism, which is not limited in this embodiment of the present application.
[0068] In an optional implementation of the embodiment of the present application, referring to Figure 4c , a second limiting structure 131 is provided on the first plane. When the first plane and the second plane are aligned, the second limiting structure 131 abuts against the edge of the second plane, thereby limiting the relative movement of the heating block 130 and the heating base assembly 200 in at least one direction parallel to the first plane. This approach can improve the pre-positioning effect during installation and enhance the positioning effect after installation.
[0069] Optionally, the direction of relative movement limited by the first limiting structure and the direction of relative movement limited by the second limiting structure 131 may be perpendicular to each other.
[0070] In an optional implementation of the embodiment of the present application, the fixing assembly 300 includes:
[0071] The fastener 310 is rotatably connected to the heating seat assembly 200 , and when the fastener 310 rotates to the first preset position, the fastener 310 is locked and squeezes the heating block 130 to fit the heating seat assembly 200 .
[0072] In an embodiment of the present application, the fixing assembly 300 may include a latch 310, which is rotatably connected to the heating seat assembly 200. When the latch 310 is rotated to a first preset position, it locks itself and squeezes the heating block 130 to fit the heating seat assembly 200 to fix the heating block 130 and the heating seat assembly 200.
[0073] In an optional implementation of the embodiment of the present application, the heating block 130 has a groove;
[0074] The fastener 310 includes:
[0075] A first sheet metal part 311 is rotatably connected to the heating seat assembly 200;
[0076] A second wire spring 312 is rotatably connected to the first sheet metal member 311 , wherein the rotation axis of the first sheet metal member 311 and the rotation axis of the second wire spring 312 are parallel but not coincident;
[0077] When the first sheet metal part 311 rotates, the second wire spring 312 is driven to buckle into the groove. When the first sheet metal part 311 rotates to the first preset position, the second wire spring 312 presses the heating block 130 with its own elastic force.
[0078] Referring to Figure 1, the heating block 130 has a groove extending in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the wire channel in the hot end assembly 100. For example, if the wire channel in the hot end assembly 100 is vertical, the groove extends in a horizontal direction. The snap fastener 310 includes a first sheet metal part 311 and a second wire spring 312. The first sheet metal part 311 is rotatably connected to the heating seat assembly 200. The first sheet metal part 311 rotates on the heating seat assembly 200 between a preset first position and a preset second position. The extension direction of the second wire spring 312 matches the groove. The second wire spring 312 is rotatably connected to the first sheet metal part 311. The rotation axis of the first sheet metal part 311 and the rotation axis of the second wire spring 312 are parallel but do not overlap. When the first sheet metal part 311 rotates, the second wire spring 312 is driven into the groove, and when it rotates to the first preset position, the second wire spring 312 uses its own elastic force to press the heating block 130 and the heating seat assembly 200 together, so that the heating block 130 and the heating seat assembly 200 fit together.
[0079] When the first sheet metal member 311 rotates to the second preset position, the second wire spring 312 does not press the heating block 130 , so that the heating block 130 is separated from the heating seat assembly 200 .
[0080] In an optional implementation of the embodiment of the present application, a connection hole is provided on one side of the plane where the heating seat assembly 200 and the heating block 130 are in contact, and a groove portion is provided on the other side;
[0081] The fastener 310 includes:
[0082] an L-shaped linear spring 314, wherein a first linear end of the L-shaped linear spring 314 is connected to the connecting hole so that the L-shaped linear spring 314 is rotatably connected to the heating seat assembly 200;
[0083] A second sheet metal member 313 , the second sheet metal member 313 being rotatably connected to the first linear end of the L-shaped linear spring 314 , wherein the rotation axis of the second sheet metal member 313 and the rotation axis of the L-shaped linear spring 314 are parallel but not coincident;
[0084] When the second sheet metal part 313 rotates to the first preset position, the end of the second sheet metal part 313 away from the first straight end is embedded in the groove portion, so that the second sheet metal part 313 presses the heating block 130, and the second straight end of the L-shaped linear spring abuts against the second sheet metal part 313, and uses its own elastic force to press the end of the second sheet metal part 313 embedded in the groove portion.
[0085] Referring to Figure 4d, a connection hole is provided on one side of the plane where the heating seat assembly 200 and the heating block 130 are in contact, and a groove portion is provided on the other side. The snap fastener 310 includes: a second sheet metal part 313 and an L-shaped wire spring 314. The L-shaped wire spring 314 includes two straight ends perpendicular to each other, a first straight end and a second straight end. The first straight end is connected to the connection hole so that the L-shaped wire spring 314 can be rotatably connected to the heating seat assembly 200. Specifically, the first end of the L-shaped wire spring 314 can pass through the connection hole, and the L-shaped wire spring 314 can rotate freely along the axis of the connection hole. The second sheet metal part 313 is rotatably connected to the first straight end of the L-shaped wire spring 314, and the rotation axis of the second sheet metal part 313 and the rotation axis of the L-shaped wire spring 314 are parallel but not overlapped. The second straight end of the L-shaped wire spring 314 can be used as an operating handle to facilitate user operation.
[0086] When the second sheet metal member 313 is rotated to the first preset position, the end of the second sheet metal member 313 away from the first linear end is embedded in the groove, so that the second sheet metal member 313 and the L-shaped wire spring 314 can compress the heating block 130 based on their own elastic force, so that the heating block 130 is in contact with the heating base assembly 200. When the second sheet metal member 313 is rotated to the second preset position, the second sheet metal member 313 releases the hot end assembly 100, so that the heating block 130 is separated from the heating base assembly 200.
[0087] In an optional implementation of the embodiment of the present application, the latch 310 includes:
[0088] A first pressing block 315 is rotatably connected to the heating seat assembly 200;
[0089] A first wire spring 316 is rotatably connected to the heating base assembly 200 . The rotation axis of the first pressing block 315 and the rotation axis of the first wire spring 316 are parallel and located on both sides of the plane where the heating base assembly 200 and the heating block 130 are in contact.
[0090] When the first pressing block 315 and the first wire spring 316 are rotated toward each other to the first preset position, the first pressing block 315 and the first wire spring 316 are engaged, the first wire spring 316 limits the movement of the first pressing block 315 , and the first pressing block 315 presses the heating block 130 .
[0091] In the embodiment of the present application, referring to FIG5 , the snap fastener may include a first pressing block 315 and a first wire spring 316. The first pressing block 315 is rotatably connected to the heating seat assembly 200, and the first wire spring 316 is rotatably connected to the heating seat assembly 200. Moreover, the rotation axis of the first pressing block 315 and the rotation axis of the first wire spring 316 are parallel and are located on both sides of the plane where the heating seat assembly 200 and the heating block 130 are in contact. As shown in FIG5 , the rotation axis of the first pressing block 315 is located on the left side of the plane where the heating seat assembly 200 and the heating block 130 are in contact, and the rotation axis of the first wire spring 316 is located on the right side of the plane where the heating seat assembly 200 and the heating block 130 are in contact, and the rotation axis of the first pressing block 315 and the rotation axis of the first wire spring 316 are parallel.
[0092] When the first pressing block 315 and the first wire spring 316 are rotated toward each other to a first preset position, the first pressing block 315 and the first wire spring 316 engage, and the first wire spring 316 restricts the movement of the first pressing block 315. The first pressing block 315 presses the heating block 130 to make the heating block 130 fit the heating base assembly 200. When the first pressing block 315 and the first wire spring 316 rotate away from each other, the first pressing block 315 and the first wire spring 316 are disengaged, the first pressing block 315 no longer applies force to the heating block 130, and the heating block 130 separates from the heating base assembly 200.
[0093] In an optional implementation of the embodiment of the present application, the latch 310 includes a clamping cam 317 and a cam handle 318 that are fixedly connected.
[0094] When the cam handle 318 rotates to the first preset position, the cam handle 318 drives the clamping cam 317 to press the heating block 130 .
[0095] In the embodiment of the present application, referring to FIG. 6 , the latch 310 includes a fixedly connected clamping cam 317 and a cam handle 318 . Specifically, the clamping cam 317 and the cam handle 318 can be an integrated structure. When the cam handle 318 rotates to a first preset position, the cam handle 318 drives the clamping cam 317 to press against the heating block 130 , thereby allowing the heating block 130 to fit against the heating base assembly 200 . When the cam handle 318 rotates to a second preset position, the clamping cam 317 stops applying force to the hot end assembly 100 , and the heating block 130 separates from the heating base assembly 200 .

[0098] The heating seat 220 is fixedly connected to the fixing seat 210 and is detachably connected to the hot end assembly 100 .
[0099] In an optional implementation of the embodiment of the present application, the hot end assembly is detachably connected to the heating seat assembly, including: the heating block is detachably connected to the heating seat assembly.
[0100] In an optional implementation of the embodiment of the present application, the heat dissipation fins are detachably connected to the 3D printing head body.
[0101] In an optional implementation of the embodiment of the present application, the heat sink fin has a feed port, which is an annular protrusion for inserting into the discharge port of the 3D printing head body, so as to ensure a stable connection between the hot end structure and the 3D printing head body and stable feeding of the wire material.

The fixed seat 210 is fixedly connected to the three-dimensional printing head body to provide a support point for the overall installation. The fixed seat 210 is made of heat-insulating and high-temperature resistant material so that after the fixed seat 210 is connected to the heating seat 220, its own performance is not affected under high temperature conditions. The heating seat 220 is fixedly connected to the fixed seat 210 and is detachably connected to the hot end assembly 100 through the fixing assembly 300. When fixedly connected to the hot end assembly 100, the heating block 130 in the hot end assembly 100 is heated.
[0103] In an optional implementation of the embodiment of the present application, the heating seat 220 includes:
[0104] The heating seat body is fitted with the hot end assembly 100;

[0106] Specifically, the heating base 220 comprises a heating base body and a heater. The heating base body is bonded to the hot end assembly 100, specifically, to the heating block 130. The heater is positioned between the heating base body and the fixed base 210, closely contacting the heating base body to heat the heating base body. [0109] At least one temperature measuring component 230 may be provided between the fixing seat 210 and the heating seat body. The temperature measuring component 230 may detect the temperature of the heating seat body and control the temperature of the heating wire based on the temperature so as to more stably control the heating of the wire.
[0110] 8 , which shows a schematic structural diagram of a 3D printing head according to an embodiment of the present application, further discloses a 3D printing head, comprising the hot end structure 10 and a 3D printing head body 20 as described above.
[0111] In the embodiment of the present application, the 3D printing head includes a hot end structure 10 and a 3D printing head body 20 , and the hot end structure 10 is fixedly connected to the 3D printing head body 20 .
[0112] 9 shows a schematic diagram of the structure of a 3D printer according to an embodiment of the present application. The 3D printer comprises: the aforementioned 3D print head 1, a printing platform 3, and a drive device 2. The 3D print head 1 is disposed above the printing platform 3, and the drive device 2 is configured to drive the 3D print head 1 to generate relative displacement with respect to the printing platform 3.
[0113] The 3D printing head 1 is arranged above the printing platform 3 and is used to extrude the printing material (wire material) that is heated and melted into a molten state; the feeding device 4 is connected to the feeding end of the 3D printing head 1 to provide wire material for the 3D printing head 1, and the driving device 2 drives the 3D printing head 1 to produce relative displacement between the printing platforms 3, so as to print or construct a 3D model.
[0114] The 3D print head 1 comprises a hot end structure 10 and a 3D print head body 20. The 3D print head body 20 comprises a feed assembly and an extrusion assembly disposed between the feed assembly and the hot end structure 10. During the feeding process of the feeder 4, the printing material passes through the feed assembly and then enters the extrusion assembly, which then delivers the printing material to the hot end structure 10. During the feeding process of the feeder 4, the 3D printer cuts the printing material in the 3D print head 1, and the extrusion assembly returns the printing material to the feeder 4. The loading and unloading assemblies in the feeder 4 rewind the returned printing material onto the material tray.
[0115] Optionally, the 3D printer may, for example, cut the printing material between the extrusion assembly and the hot end structure 10 or may cut the printing material in the extrusion assembly, etc. This application does not limit the position where the 3D printer cuts the printing material.
[0116] Exemplarily, the 3D printer further includes a print panel 31, a heated bed 32, and a base 33. The heated bed 32 is located on the side of the base 33 facing the hot end structure 10 and has a heating function. The print panel 31 is located on the side of the heated bed 32 facing the hot end structure 10. Heat from the heated bed 32 is transferred to the print panel 31, allowing the hot end structure 10 to extrude molten printing material onto the print panel 31.
[0117] In a specific implementation, the 3D printer can adjust the temperature of the hot end structure 10 and the hot bed 32. The temperature of the hot end structure 10 is adjusted to heat the printing material to a molten state, and the temperature of the hot bed 32 is adjusted to adhere the printing material extruded by the hot end structure 10 to the printing panel 31. The 3D printing head 1 is slidably connected to the first guide rail 12 and can move along the length of the first guide rail 12, thereby achieving displacement of the 3D printing head 1 relative to the printing panel 31 along the length of the first guide rail 12. The hot bed 32 is slidably connected to the second guide rail 13 and can move along the length of the second guide rail 13, thereby achieving displacement of the 3D printing head 1 relative to the printing panel 31 along the length of the second guide rail 13. The length of the second guide rail 13 is perpendicular to the length of the first guide rail 12. Furthermore, the first guide rail 12 is slidably connected to the third guide rail 14. By moving the first guide rail 12 along the third guide rail 14, the 3D printer can achieve displacement of the 3D print head 1 relative to the print panel 31 in a direction perpendicular to the length of the second guide rail 13 and a direction perpendicular to the length of the first guide rail 12. In other words, the 3D printer can achieve relative displacement between the 3D print head 1 and the print panel 31 in three mutually perpendicular directions, thereby printing a 3D object.
[0118] It should be noted that the above terms "first" and "second" are used for descriptive purposes only and should not be understood as indicating or implying relative importance.
