Description

Battery Pack

[0001] The present invention relates to a battery pack, and more specifically, to provide a battery pack that is easy to configure and easy to maintain.

[0002] A battery pack is designed to supply electricity of a desired specification to specific electronic equipment or machines, and a typical battery pack is composed of multiple battery cells.

[0003] A typical battery pack is configured by arranging a plurality of battery cells (C) in parallel as shown in Fig. 1, positioning nickel plates on the positive (+) and negative (-) sides of the upper and lower portions of the battery cells (C), and then fixing them by a method such as spot welding. The output electricity (+, -) of the parallel battery pack configured as described above is configured to be output to a battery management system (BMS) or a battery safety circuit (PCM; Protection Circuit Module).

[0004] The above-mentioned conventional battery pack has the advantage of being easy to arrange and configure battery cells, and is widely used because it can be manufactured at low production costs by using basic components.

[0005] Conventional battery packs are made by arranging multiple battery cells in parallel and then fixing them using nickel plates. If one of the battery cells constituting the battery pack is defective, a problem may occur in the overall performance (output) of the battery pack. In addition, not only may the set voltage value not be obtained due to the defective battery cell, but other connected battery cells may be overcharged during the charging process, and when discharging, multiple connected battery cells may discharge rapidly, making it difficult to maintain the set characteristics of the battery pack.

[0006] In addition, it was pointed out that it was difficult to determine which battery cell in the battery pack was defective, and that it was difficult to replace the defective battery cell because it was fixed by welding.

[0007] The present invention was created to solve the problems of the conventional battery pack as described above, and the main focus of the technical task is to provide a battery pack invented to facilitate the implementation of the battery pack by arranging a plurality of holders on a printed circuit board and making the battery cells coupled to each holder electrically connected by pattern-printed electric conductors, and to facilitate the replacement of defective battery cells by easily performing the installation and removal of each battery cell, and to improve the output and operating efficiency of the battery pack by enabling the expanded operation of the battery pack by utilizing the connection port installed on the printed circuit board or enabling the balancing of the battery pack to be detected by using an external terminal.

[0008] The present invention for solving the above technical problem comprises a battery pack in which at least two or more battery holders are arranged in parallel at equal intervals on one or both sides of a printed circuit board, wherein the battery holders are provided with a negative terminal and a positive terminal at the end of a support plate for fixing the battery holders on the printed circuit board, and a pair of semicircular clamping plates having an inner diameter capable of accommodating an outer diameter of a battery cell are mutually installed on the upper surface of each support plate, so that an inlet opening for introducing a battery cell is formed in the upper region between each clamping plate, and each battery holder is configured to connect a negative terminal provided on the front clamp of an adjacent battery holder and a positive terminal provided on the rear clamp with an electric conductor printed in a pattern on the printed circuit board, and to couple the battery cell to the clamp of each battery holder, so that each battery cell maintains a current-carrying state by the electric conductor, and the printed circuit board of The technical feature is that an output port is installed on one side and is connected to an electrical conductor that connects the negative terminal and the positive terminal of the battery holder, so that the power of each battery cell is output through the output port.

[0009] The battery pack proposed in the present invention can be implemented by combining battery cells into a plurality of holders arranged on a printed circuit board (PCB), and can not only firmly maintain the combined state of the battery cells, but also prevent a short-circuit phenomenon and damage to the battery cells due to overheating.

[0010] The present invention is a simple process of connecting battery cells to holders installed on a printed circuit board to easily implement a series or parallel type battery pack, thereby enabling easy attachment and detachment of battery cells, facilitating replacement of defective battery cells, and enabling expanded operation of the battery pack by utilizing a connection port installed on the printed circuit board, or enabling balancing of the battery pack to be detected using an external terminal, thereby improving the operational efficiency of the battery pack, and thus the present invention is a truly beneficial invention in terms of its expected effects.
