Description

tumbler

[0001] The present invention relates to a tumbler capable of containing water or beverages, and in particular, to a structure in which the mouth does not touch the water while drinking water inside the tumbler, thereby enabling the use of a tumbler having a hygienic and clean structure.

[0002] Tumblers are typically beverage containers designed to hold and drink various beverages, such as water or coffee. These tumblers are made from harmless materials like glass, ceramic, stainless steel, and synthetic resin, making them widely used in homes, offices, and other settings. Recently, various tumblers have been developed, including those with double-layered inner and outer structures or hollow internal structures to enhance heat and cold retention.

[0003] However, these tumblers needed to have a more hygienic structure due to their nature of storing various beverages and being consumed by the general public. Because tumblers are carried around for relatively long periods of time and people drink from them, there were problems with hygiene during use, which led to bacterial growth. In particular, in the case of warm beverages, there was a problem that bacteria could rapidly multiply even during use, as the temperature environment was favorable for bacterial growth.

[0004] For example, let's say you carry around a tumbler filled with water and drink it. There is no possibility of bacteria growing in the sealed water, but when you open the tumbler and drink the water, the moment you put your mouth on the tumbler opening, bacteria enter and stick to the inside of the tumbler, creating a film, causing the amount of bacteria to double every 20 minutes.

[0005] In fact, an experiment using bottled water showed that when bacteria were measured immediately after opening the bottle, only one bacterium was detected per milliliter. However, when measured after opening the bottle and taking a sip, 900 bacteria were detected. Furthermore, the water in the bottle a day after opening was found to contain approximately 40,000 bacteria, which is over 400 times the standard. Drinking water containing bacteria can cause abdominal pain and diarrhea due to the toxins from the bacteria.

[0006] Therefore, in order to drink bottled water safely and healthily, once opened, you should drink it as quickly as possible. Also, when drinking bottled water, you should not put your mouth on the bottle and should develop the habit of drinking it from a cup whenever possible.

[0007] However, the structure of existing tumblers inevitably causes the opening to touch the user's mouth when drinking. Therefore, once the lid is opened and the user drinks, bacteria from the mouth can enter through the opening, leading to rapid bacterial growth within the tumbler.

[0008] The purpose of the present invention is to provide a tumbler having a hygienic structure that prevents bacteria in the mouth of a user drinking water from penetrating into the tumbler by preventing the lips from coming into contact with the water inside the tumbler even when drinking a beverage inside the tumbler.

[0009] The present invention relates to a tumbler having a main body (110) for accommodating a beverage inside and a lid (120) that connects the upper portion of the main body, and is characterized by including an upper outer member (130) provided on the upper portion of the main body to form an outer portion; and a suction member (150) provided on the inner side of the upper outer member and having an opening (S) that penetrates vertically, the opening being formed to have a width that narrows from bottom to top. Through this, when drinking a beverage inside the main body, the user's lips only touch the upper outer member and do not touch the suction member, thereby enabling hygienic drinking.

[0010] The above suction part (150) is formed in a cone shape with a lower portion having a wider width than the upper portion, and the lower portion of the suction part (150) is coupled to the inner surface of the upper outer member (130).

[0011] It is preferable that the upper end (155) of the above-mentioned suction portion (150) be positioned a predetermined distance (d) lower than the upper end (135) of the upper outer member (130).

[0012] A downwardly protruding sealing portion (125) is formed in the center of the lower surface of the lid (120), so that when the lid is combined with the main body, the upper end of the suction portion (155) is sealed by the sealing portion.

[0013] The present invention provides a tumbler having the above structure, thereby preventing bacteria in the mouth of a user drinking water from penetrating into the tumbler, thereby preventing bacterial growth and enabling safe use for a long period of time.

[0014] Figure 1 is a tumbler according to the present invention, in which the main body and the lid are separated.

[0015] Figure 2 is a tumbler according to the present invention, with the main body, lid, and internal components separated.

[0016] Figures 3 and 4 are cross-sectional views of the tumbler body according to the present invention.

[0017] Figure 5 is a detailed view of another shape of the inlet of the tumbler body according to the present invention.

[0018] Figure 6 is a diagram showing the state of use of a tumbler according to the present invention.

[0019] The purpose, specific advantages, and novel features of the present invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description and preferred embodiments, which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Furthermore, the terms used are defined based on the functions of the present invention and may vary depending on the user's intentions or practices. Therefore, the definitions of these terms should be based on the overall content of this specification.

[0020] FIG. 1 is a view of a tumbler according to the present invention with the main body and the lid separated, FIG. 2 is a view of a tumbler according to the present invention with the main body, the lid, and the internal components separated, FIGS. 3 and 4 are cross-sectional views of the main body of the tumbler according to the present invention, FIG. 5 is a detailed view of another shape of the inlet of the main body of the tumbler according to the present invention, and FIG. 6 is a view of the tumbler according to the present invention in use.

[0021] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 4, the tumbler of the present invention comprises a main body (110) for accommodating a beverage inside and a lid (120) that secures the upper portion of the main body. Furthermore, a portion is formed on the upper portion of the main body that the user's mouth naturally touches when drinking water. For the sake of convenience of explanation, this portion, which is generally formed in a circular shape on the upper portion of the main body, will be referred to as an "upper outer member (130)" in the present invention.

[0022] And, a suction part (150), which is a characteristic part of the present invention, is combined on the inside of the upper outer member. The suction part (150) has an opening (S) that penetrates upward and downward, and it is preferable that the opening be formed so that its width becomes narrower from the bottom to the top.

[0023] In FIGS. 3 and 4, the upper end (155) of the suction part (150) is shown as being positioned higher than the upper end (135) of the upper outer member (130), but the upper end (155) of the suction part (150) may also be configured to be positioned lower than the upper end (135) of the upper outer member (130).

[0024] Referring to FIG. 5, looking at the tumbler inlet in more detail, in order to prevent the suction part (150) from touching the user's mouth while drinking water from the tumbler of the present invention, it is preferable that the upper end (155) of the suction part (150) be positioned a predetermined distance (d) lower than the upper end (135) of the upper outer member (130). However, the degree to which the upper end (155) of the suction part (150) is positioned lower than the upper end (135) of the upper outer member (130) may vary slightly depending on the type of tumbler. The upper end (155) of the suction part, through which water inside the main body comes out, is positioned horizontally and vertically away from the upper outer member (130). This makes it possible to more reliably prevent the tumbler suction part and the user's mouth from touching each other, thereby more reliably preventing the growth of bacteria in the water inside the tumbler.

[0025] Looking at the usage state diagram of the present invention illustrated in FIG. 6, the user's lips naturally only touch the upper outer member (130) and do not touch the suction portion (150). Therefore, contact between the lips and the water inside the tumbler is fundamentally blocked. In other words, the water discharged from the suction portion flows directly into the user's mouth, so bacteria in the user's mouth do not flow into the tumbler. Through this, the tumbler of the present invention enables hygienic drinking and prevents bacteria from multiplying in the water inside the tumbler.

[0026] The above-mentioned suction part (150) is formed in a cone shape with a lower portion wider than the upper portion to prevent the water from touching the user's mouth during the process of drinking water, and the lower portion of the suction part (150) is coupled to the inner surface of the upper outer member (130), and the upper portion of the suction part is located on the inner side of the upper outer member (130), but is located at a certain distance from the inner surface of the upper outer member (130) at the center point, so that it is physically separated from the inner surfaces.

[0027] A downwardly protruding sealing portion (125) is formed in the center of the lower surface of the lid (120), so that when the lid (120) is closed on the main body (110), the sealing portion (125) comes into contact with the upper end (155) of the suction portion, sealing the suction portion.

[0028] Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail above, the scope of the present invention is not limited thereto, and various modifications and improvements made by those skilled in the art using the basic concept of the present invention defined in the following claims also fall within the scope of the present invention.
