Description

"REFRIGERATION UNIT WITH STRUCTURAL SUPPORT"TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to a refrigeration unit for cold rooms and walk-in chambers that store products which require refrigeration . More speci fically, the present invention discloses a refrigeration unit preferably installed at the roof of cold rooms and walk-in chambers located, for example , in supermarkets , pharmacies , and other places that need to refrigerate products with a structural support .BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The volume that a refrigeration unit occupies inside a cold room or walk-in chamber that stores products which require refrigeration is an important feature , as , depending on the si ze of such refrigeration unit , a relevant useful volume of the chamber is lost to install such unit . Accordingly, there is a loss of space of the chamber to store further products .

[0003] Naturally, the most obvious solution to overcome such problem is to reduce the si ze of the components ( for example , evaporator and condenser ) inside the refrigeration unit . However, such solution is not easy to be applied, once the reduction of the si ze of such components decreases their operation capacity . Depending on the environment to be cooled, there is a limit in reducing said components to be able to refrigerate the products in an adequate manner .

[0004] Therefore , is it not observed in the prior art a refrigeration unit installed at the roof of cold rooms and walk-in chambers with reduced si ze capable ofincreasing the useful volume of such chambers to store products and that maintains an adequate capacity of refrigeration .SUMMARY

[0005] The obj ective of the present invention is to provide a refrigeration unit with a structural support that avoids the drawbacks of the prior art .

[0006] This obj ective is achieved by means of a refrigeration unit , comprising a bottom cold side , an upper hot side and an insulation between said hot and cold sides ; the cold side comprising : at least two cold side fans mounted on a plate ; at least two evaporators disposed on opposite sides of the plate ; at least two bulkheads transversally disposed to the evaporators and near the ends of said evaporators ; a partition disposed between the at least two cold side fans and between the at least two bulkheads ; a structural support for fixation of the at least two evaporators , at least two bulkheads , and partition, wherein the structural support comprises two assembled symmetric parts , each part comprising an air-deflector in one of its edges , and each air-deflector comprising an inclined surface facing the evaporators .

[0007] Additionally, the structural support according to the present invention is disposed below the insulation .

[0008] One of the advantages of the present invention consists of the fact that the structural support enables to fit the evaporators inside the refrigeration unit with negligible airflow disturbances , reducing the penetrationheight of the cold side into the chamber to be cooled and increasing the useful volume for storing goods .BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0009] The obj ectives and advantages of the present invention will become clearer through the following detailed description of the examples and non- limiting drawings presented at the end of this document :

[0010] Figure 1 illustrates a perspective view of a refrigeration unit according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention .

[0011] Figure 2 illustrates an exploded perspective view of the cold side of the refrigeration unit according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention .

[0012] Figure 3 is a sectional perspective view of the structural support with the air-deflectors according to the present invention .DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0013] Figure 1 illustrates a perspective view of the refrigeration unit 100 according to the present invention, said refrigeration unit 100 compris ing a bottom cold side 200 and an upper hot side 300 . Preferably, the refrigeration unit 100 is installed at the roof in way that the cold side 200 remains inside the cold room or walk-in chamber and the hot side 300 remains outside .

[0014] According to Figure 2 , there is an insulation 210 which is di sposed between the cold side 200 and hot side 300 . The cold side 200 comprises a structural support 220 preferably disposed below the insulation 210 . In disposing the structural support 220 below the insulation210, it is possible to separate the hot 300 and cold 200 sides of the refrigeration unit 100.

[0015] Additionally, the structural support 220 comprises two assembled symmetric parts 221.

[0016] Further according to Figure 2, the cold side 200 comprises evaporators 230 disposed on opposite sides of said cold side. According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, two evaporators 230 are used.

[0017] According to Figure 2, the cold side 200 further comprises cold side fans 250 mounted on the plate 240. According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention two cold side fans 250 are employed.

[0018] Figure 2 also shows two bulkheads 260A transversally disposed to the evaporators 230 and each bulkhead 260A disposed near to the ends of said evaporators 230; a partition 260B, said partition 260B disposed between the two bulkheads 260B and between the cold side fans 250, wherein the cold side fans 250 are mounted on a plate 240; and grids 270 disposed below the cold side fans 250. The partition 260B creates a barrier between the cold side fans 250, in way a that if one of such cold side fans 250 stops working, the remaining one will keep an efficient airflow through the evaporators 230 with the aid of the airdeflector 222.

[0019] The evaporators 230, bulkheads 260A, and partition 260B are all fixed to the structural support 220 by means, for example, of screws, bolts and similar.

[0020] Figure 3 illustrates that each symmetrical part 221 comprises an air-deflector 222 in one of its edges. The air-deflector 222 extends along the whole edgeand proj ects in a triangular shape with an inclined surface facing the evaporators 230 , orientating the airflow through the evaporators 230 .

[0021] In addition to the embodiments presented above , the same inventive concept can be applied to other alternatives or possibilities of using the invention, for example , a structural support made of more than two symmetric parts .

[0022] Although the present invention has been described in relation to certain preferred embodiments , it should be understood that it is not intended to limit the invention to those particular embodiments . On the contrary, it is intended to cover all possible alternatives , modi fications and equivalences within the spirit and scope of the invention, as defined by the attached claims .
