[0009] In this application, "based on XX" means "based on at least XX," and includes cases where it is based on other elements in addition to XX. Furthermore, "based on XX" is not limited to cases where XX is used directly, but also includes cases where it is based on XX that has been calculated or processed. "XX" is any element (for example, any information).
[0010] The term "drive axis" used herein refers to a virtual axis set in a processing machine, and includes, for example, the X-axis, Y-axis, Z-axis, A-axis, B-axis, and C-axis.
[0011] The simulation device is a device that uses a machining program to execute a simulation of a processing machine. The processing machine is, for example, a machine tool, a three-dimensional printer, a lathe, a machining center, or a multi-tasking machine.
[0012] The simulation is, for example, a drive shaft operation simulation, which will be described in detail later.
[0013] The simulation device is implemented in a numerical control device, a personal computer (PC), a server, a tablet terminal, etc. The following describes a simulation device implemented in a PC.
[0014] 1 is a block diagram showing an example of the hardware configuration of a simulation apparatus 1. The simulation apparatus 1 includes, for example, a hardware processor 101, a bus 102, a read-only memory (ROM) 103, a random access memory (RAM) 104, a non-volatile memory 105, and an input / output device 106.
[0015] The hardware processor 101 is a processor that uses a system program to control the entire simulation apparatus 1. The hardware processor 101 reads the system program stored in the ROM 103 via the bus 102. The hardware processor 101 is, for example, a CPU (Central Processing Unit) or an electronic circuit.
[0016] The bus 102 is a communication path that connects the various hardware components of the simulation device 1. The various hardware components of the simulation device 1 exchange data via the bus 102.
[0017] The ROM 103 is a storage device that stores system programs, etc. The ROM 103 is a computer-readable storage medium.
[0018] The RAM 104 is a storage device that temporarily stores various data and functions as a work area for the hardware processor 101 to process various data.
[0019] The nonvolatile memory 105 is a storage device that retains data even when the power to the simulation device 1 is turned off. The nonvolatile memory 105 stores, for example, a machining program. The nonvolatile memory 105 is a computer-readable storage medium. The nonvolatile memory 105 is, for example, a battery-backed memory or an SSD (Solid State Drive).
[0020] The input / output device 106 receives various data from the hardware processor 101 and displays the data on a display. The input / output device 106 also receives input of various data and sends the data to the hardware processor 101, for example.
[0021] The input / output device 106 is, for example, a touch panel. When the input / output device 106 is a touch panel, the input / output device 106 is, for example, a capacitive touch panel. The touch panel is not limited to a capacitive touch panel and may be a touch panel of another type.
[0022] 2 is a block diagram showing an example of the functions of the simulation apparatus 1. The simulation apparatus 1 includes a decision information acquisition unit 111, a simulation unit 112, an inertia acquisition unit 113, and an output unit 114. The decision information acquisition unit 111, the simulation unit 112, the inertia acquisition unit 113, and the output unit 114 are realized, for example, by the hardware processor 101 performing arithmetic processing using a system program stored in the ROM 103 and various programs and data stored in the non-volatile memory 105.
[0023] The determination information acquiring unit 111 acquires inertia determination information in which state information indicating the execution state of the machining program and determination factor information indicating the inertia determination factors are associated with each other. The determination information acquiring unit 111 acquires the inertia determination information from, for example, a storage unit (not shown).
[0024] The status information is information indicating how far the machining program being executed in the simulation device 1 has progressed. Alternatively, the status information is information indicating which machining program is being executed in the simulation device 1.
[0025] The status information includes at least one of count information indicating the number of times tool changes have been performed, time information indicating the elapsed time since the start of execution of the machining program, line information indicating the line of the machining program currently being executed, number information indicating the sequence number of the machining program currently being executed, code information indicating the number of times a specific code has been commanded, and name information indicating the name of the machining program currently being executed. The code is, for example, an M code such as M06. The M code is a code for indicating commands to assist machining, etc.
[0026] The determining element information is information indicating elements for determining the inertia during execution of the machining program, and includes at least one of mass information indicating the mass of the workpiece, volume information indicating the volume of the workpiece, a shape model indicating the shape of the workpiece, progress information indicating the progress of the machining program, and inertia information indicating the inertia.
[0027] 3 is a diagram showing an example of inertia determination information. Status information indicating the execution status of a machining program is count information indicating the number of times a tool change has been performed. Furthermore, determination element information indicating an inertia determination element is a shape model indicating the shape of a workpiece. The shape model is, for example, a three-dimensional CAD (Computer Aided Design) model.
[0028] In the inertia determination information shown in FIG. 3, the number of times information "0 times," "1 time," "2 times," and "3 times" are associated with the "first model," "second model," "third model," and "fourth model," respectively.
[0029] The first model is a shape model of the workpiece in an unmachined state. The second model is a shape model of the workpiece after one corner has been machined. The third model is a shape model of the workpiece after yet another corner has been machined. The fourth model is a shape model of the workpiece after yet another corner has been machined. Now, return to the explanation of FIG. 2.
[0030] The simulation unit 112 executes a simulation based on the machining program. As described above, the simulation is a drive axis operation simulation.
[0031] The simulation unit 112 has a command generation unit 112A and an axis simulation unit 112B. The command generation unit 112A analyzes a machining program and generates operation commands for the drive axes. The command generation unit 112A, for example, acquires a machining program stored in a storage unit (not shown) and analyzes the machining program. The command generation unit 112A generates operation commands for the drive axes based on the analysis results of the machining program.
[0032] The drive axes include, for example, the X-axis, Y-axis, Z-axis, B-axis, and C-axis. The operation command is a command to operate these drive axes and move the tool along a movement path specified in the machining program. The command generation unit 112A also generates a spindle rotation command. Note that the command to move the tool means a command to move the tool and workpiece relative to each other.
[0033] The command generating unit 112A generates execution information indicating the execution status of the machining program while the machining program is being executed. The command generating unit 112A generates the execution information, for example, at predetermined intervals. The execution information corresponds to the status information acquired by the determination information acquiring unit 111. The execution information may also be generated by the axis simulation unit 112B.
[0034] That is, the execution information includes at least one of information indicating the name of the machining program being executed, information indicating the number of times tool changes have been performed during execution of the machining program, information indicating the elapsed time since execution of the machining program began, information indicating the line of the machining program being executed, information indicating the name of the machining program being executed, information indicating the number of times a specific code has been commanded, and information indicating the sequence number of the machining program being executed.
[0035] The inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires the inertia based on execution information indicating the execution status of the machining program. In other words, the inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires the inertia based on the execution information generated by the command generation unit 112A. The inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires the execution information generated by the command generation unit 112A at predetermined intervals. The inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires the inertia using the inertia determination information acquired by the determination information acquisition unit 111.
[0036] For example, when the command generating unit 112A generates information indicating the number of times tool change has been performed as the execution information, the inertia acquiring unit 113 acquires a shape model based on the inertia determination information shown in FIG.
[0037] When the information indicating the number of times tool change has been performed is "0 times", the inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires the first model. When the information indicating the number of times tool change has been performed is "0 times", this means that no tool change has been performed since the execution of the machining program started.
[0038] When the information indicating the number of times tool change has been performed is "1 time", the inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires a second model. When the information indicating the number of times tool change has been performed is "2 times", the inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires a third model. When the information indicating the number of times tool change has been performed is "3 times", the inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires a fourth model.
[0039] The inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires the inertia based on the volume of each acquired shape model and the density of the workpiece. The inertia is, for example, the inertia around the rotation axis of a servo motor. The inertia may be the inertia of the workpiece when it moves linearly.
[0040] 4 is a diagram for explaining the inertia around the rotation shaft of the servo motor. L can be calculated, for example, by the following equation 1: where V is the volume of the workpiece W, ρ is the density of the workpiece W, and l is the lead of the ball screw B. Also, the mass of the table T is assumed to be 0.
[0041]
[0042] The simulation unit 112 executes a simulation based on the inertia acquired by the inertia acquisition unit 113. For example, when the inertia is acquired using the inertia determination information shown in Fig. 3, the simulation unit 112 executes a simulation based on the inertia acquired using the first model until a tool change is performed.
[0043] After the first tool change is performed, the simulation unit 112 performs a simulation based on the inertia obtained using the second model. After the second tool change is performed, the simulation unit 112 performs a simulation based on the inertia obtained using the third model. After the third tool change is performed, the simulation unit 112 performs a simulation based on the inertia obtained using the fourth model.
[0044] The axis simulation unit 112B executes an operation simulation of the drive axis based on the operation command generated by the command generation unit 112A and the inertia acquired by the inertia acquisition unit 113. The operation simulation is a simulation of feedback control of the drive axis.
[0045] The axis simulation unit 112B simulates the operation of the drive axis when the machining program is executed. That is, the operation simulation simulates the change in the position of the drive axis. The axis simulation unit 112B may also simulate the change in torque of the drive axis when the machining program is executed. In other words, the axis simulation unit 112B may obtain torque waveform data of the servo motor S that operates the drive axis through the operation simulation. The axis simulation unit 112B may also obtain the power consumption or machining time of the servo motor S through the operation simulation.
[0046] 5 is a block diagram showing an example of a transfer function used by the axis simulation unit 112B for the operation simulation. This transfer function is a transfer function modeled on a processing machine that performs speed control based on a speed feedback value from a speed detector such as a pulse coder. This transfer function is also a transfer function modeled on a processing machine that performs position control based on a position feedback value from a position detector such as a linear scale that acquires the position of a table T driven by a servo motor S.
[0047] Note that 112B1 is a block showing the transfer function of the position loop. 112B2 is a block showing the transfer function of the velocity loop. 112B3 and 112B4 are blocks showing the transfer function of the servo motor S. 112B5 is a block showing the transfer function of the table T. 112B6 shows a coupling part such as a ball screw that couples the servo motor S and the table T. 112B7 is a transfer function of an integral element that integrates the velocity of the table T to find the position of the table T.
[0048] Kp is the position gain. k1 is the integral gain. k2 is the proportional gain. S is a variable in the complex domain. Kt is the torque constant. J m is the inertia of the motor. J L is the inertia of the table T and the workpiece W placed on the table T. Pc is the motion command. Vc is the speed command. Tc is the torque command. V fis the velocity feedback value. P f is the position feedback value.
[0049] The inertia J of the table T and the workpiece W shown in block 112B5 L is updated by the inertia acquired by the inertia acquisition unit 113, the axis simulation unit 112B calculates the updated inertia J L The operation simulation of the drive shaft is performed based on the above equation. Returning now to the description of FIG.
[0050] The output unit 114 outputs the results of the operation simulation executed by the axis simulation unit 112 B. The output unit 114 causes the input / output device 106 to display the results of the operation simulation, for example.
[0051] The results of the motion simulation are not limited to the history of changes in the position of the drive axis obtained after the motion simulation is completed, but also include the history of changes in the position of the drive axis during the execution of the motion simulation.
[0052] 6 is a flowchart showing an example of processing executed by the simulation device 1. In the simulation device 1, first, the determination information acquisition unit 111 acquires inertia determination information (step S1).
[0053] Next, the command generating unit 112A generates operation commands for the drive axes based on the machining program (step S2), and then generates execution information indicating the execution status of the machining program (step S3).
[0054] Next, the inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires the inertia using the inertia determination information based on the execution information (step S4). Next, the axis simulation unit 112B executes the operation simulation of the drive axis using the inertia (step S5).
[0055] Next, the output unit 114 outputs the results of the operation simulation (step S6).
[0056] Next, it is determined whether the operation simulation has ended (step S7). This determination is made by, for example, the command generating unit 112A.
[0057] If the operation simulation has not ended (No in step S7), the process of step S2 is executed. The processes from step S2 to step S7 are executed, for example, at predetermined intervals.
[0058] If the operation simulation is completed (Yes in step S7), the processing in the simulation device 1 is completed.
[0059] In the above-described embodiment, the inertia determination information is the number of times information and the shape model, but the inertia determination information is not limited to this.
[0060] 7 is a diagram showing an example of inertia determination information. Status information indicating the execution status of the machining program is count information indicating the number of tool changes. Furthermore, determination factor information indicating the inertia determination factor is mass information indicating the mass of the workpiece W.
[0061] In the inertia determination information shown in Figure 7, the number of times information "0 times" is associated with mass information "39". Furthermore, the number of times information "1 time" is associated with mass information "35.1". Furthermore, the number of times information "2 times" is associated with mass information "31.2". Furthermore, the number of times information "3 times" is associated with mass information "27.3".
[0062] When the command generating unit 112A generates information indicating the number of times tool change has been performed as the execution information, the inertia acquiring unit 113 acquires mass information based on the inertia determination information shown in FIG.
[0063] When the information indicating the number of times tool change has been performed is "0 times", the inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires "39" as the mass information. When the information indicating the number of times tool change has been performed is "1 time", the inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires "35.1" as the mass information. When the information indicating the number of times tool change has been performed is "2 times", the inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires "31.2" as the mass information. When the information indicating the number of times tool change has been performed is "3 times", the inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires "27.3" as the mass information.
[0064] The inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires the inertia of the workpiece W based on the acquired mass information. The axis simulation unit 112B executes an operation simulation of the drive axis based on the operation command generated by the command generation unit 112A and the inertia acquired by the inertia acquisition unit 113.
[0065] 8 is a diagram illustrating the inertia used in the operation simulation. The axis simulation unit 112B executes the operation simulation based on the inertia calculated from the mass information "39" until the first tool change. The axis simulation unit 112B executes the operation simulation based on the inertia calculated from the mass information "35.1" until the second tool change. The axis simulation unit 112B executes the operation simulation based on the inertia calculated from the mass information "31.2" until the third tool change. After the third tool change, the axis simulation unit 112B executes the operation simulation based on the inertia calculated from the mass information "27.3".
[0066] As a result, the simulation device 1 can execute a highly accurate simulation that reflects the inertia that changes during the execution of the machining program.
[0067] In the above-described embodiment, the inertia determination information is the number of times information and the mass information, but the inertia determination information is not limited to this.
[0068] 9 is a diagram showing an example of inertia determination information. In the inertia determination information shown in FIG. 9, the status information is count information indicating the number of times tool change has been performed. Furthermore, the determination element information indicating the inertia determination element is progress information indicating the progress of the shape model and the machining program.
[0069] In the inertia determination information shown in FIG. 9, the first model is associated with the number of times information "0 times."
[0070] The number of times information "1 time" is associated with the progress information "20%." The number of times information "2 times" is associated with the progress information "50%." The number of times information "3 times" is associated with the fourth model.
[0071] When the command generating unit 112A generates information indicating the number of times tool change has been performed as the execution information, the inertia acquiring unit 113 acquires the determination factor information based on the inertia determination information shown in FIG.
[0072] If the information indicating the number of times tool change has been performed is "0 times," the inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires a first model. The inertia acquisition unit 113 also calculates the mass of the workpiece W based on the first model. The inertia acquisition unit 113 then acquires the inertia based on the calculated mass of the workpiece W.
[0073] When the information indicating the number of times tool change has been performed is "1 time," the inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires progress information of "20%." The numerical value indicated by the progress information is the ratio of the volume of the workpiece W removed before tool change is performed to the volume of the workpiece W removed from the start of machining to the end of machining. In other words, when the numerical value indicated by the progress information is "20%," the volume of the workpiece W removed before the first tool change is performed is 20% of the volume removed by the end of machining.
[0074] The inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires the mass of the workpiece W based on the progress information "20%." The inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires the inertia based on the acquired mass of the workpiece W.
[0075] When the information indicating the number of times tool change has been performed is "2 times", the inertia acquisition unit 113 calculates the mass of the workpiece W based on the progress information "50%". The inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires the inertia based on the acquired mass of the workpiece W.
[0076] When the information indicating the number of times the tool change has been performed is "three times," the inertia acquisition unit 113 calculates the mass of the workpiece W based on the fourth model. As a result, the simulation device 1 can execute a highly accurate simulation that reflects the inertia that changes during execution of the machining program.

[0102] The axis simulation unit 112B executes a drive axis operation simulation based on the operation command generated by the command generation unit 112A and the inertia acquired by the inertia acquisition unit 113. As a result, the simulation device 1 can execute a highly accurate simulation that reflects the inertia that changes during execution of the machining program.
[0103] In the above-described embodiment, the inertia is the inertia around the rotation axis of the servo motor S. However, the inertia is not limited to this. The inertia may be the moment of inertia of the rotating workpiece W.
[0104] The simulation unit 112 may execute a machining simulation in addition to or instead of the operation simulation. The machining simulation is a simulation of machining of the workpiece W. That is, in the machining simulation, the relative movement between the tool and the workpiece W is simulated. As a result, workpiece data indicating the shape of the workpiece W is generated.
[0105] The shape of the workpiece W is a concept that includes the surface shape of the workpiece W that reflects the surface properties of the workpiece W and the inner path of the tool. In other words, the machining simulation generates data that indicates scratches on the surface of the workpiece W, the surface roughness of the workpiece W, and the surface shape of the workpiece W that reflects the inner path of the tool.
[0106] 14 is a diagram for explaining workpiece data generated by machining simulation. The workpiece data is data that indicates the shape of the remaining portion other than the portion where the tool To and the workpiece W overlap due to relative movement between them. The workpiece data is generated by removing a minute volume element E in the portion where the tool To and the workpiece W overlap.
[0107] As described above, the simulation device 1 includes a determination information acquisition unit 111 that acquires inertia determination information that associates state information indicating the execution state of a machining program with determination element information indicating the inertia determination elements, a simulation unit 112 that executes a simulation based on the machining program, and an inertia acquisition unit 113 that uses the inertia determination information acquired by the determination information acquisition unit 111 to acquire inertia based on execution information that indicates the execution state of the machining program, and the simulation unit 112 executes a simulation based on the inertia acquired by the inertia acquisition unit 113.
[0108] Therefore, the simulation device 1 can perform a highly accurate simulation using the inertia during execution of the machining program.
[0109] Furthermore, the determination element information is a shape model that indicates the shape of the workpiece W, and the inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires the inertia based on the shape model. Therefore, the simulation device 1 does not need to calculate the inertia in real time. As a result, the simulation device 1 can perform a highly accurate simulation while reducing the processing load related to the simulation.
[0110] The determination element information is progress information indicating the progress of the machining program, and the inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires the inertia based on the progress information. Therefore, the simulation device 1 does not need to calculate the inertia in real time. Therefore, the simulation device 1 can perform a highly accurate simulation while reducing the processing load related to the simulation.
[0111] Furthermore, the determination element information is mass information indicating the mass of the workpiece W, and the inertia acquisition unit 113 acquires the inertia based on the mass information. Therefore, the simulation device 1 does not need to calculate the inertia in real time. Therefore, the simulation device 1 can perform a highly accurate simulation while suppressing the processing load related to the simulation.
[0112] Furthermore, the status information is count information indicating the number of times a tool change has been performed. Alternatively, the status information is time information indicating the elapsed time since the start of execution of the machining program. Alternatively, the status information is line information indicating the line of the machining program currently being executed. Alternatively, the status information is name information indicating the name of the machining program. Alternatively, the status information is number information indicating the sequence number of the machining program currently being executed.
[0113] The simulation unit 112 also has a command generation unit 112A that analyzes the machining program and generates operation commands for the drive axis, and an axis simulation unit 112B that performs operation simulation of the drive axis based on the operation commands generated by the command generation unit 112A and the inertia acquired by the inertia acquisition unit 113.
[0114] Therefore, the simulation device 1 can perform a drive shaft operation simulation.
