AI Technical Summary
The existing technologies face challenges in effectively handling reports related to connection failure cases or near-failure successful cases during the Conditional Handover (CHO) with candidate Secondary Cell Group (SCG) procedures in wireless communications.
A network node and a User Equipment (UE) are configured to receive and correlate reports generated during the CHO with candidate SCG procedure. The reports include a first report, which can be a Successful Handover Report (SHR) or a Radio Link Failure (RLF) report, and a second report, which can be a Successful PSCell Addition or Change Report (SPR) or an SCG failure information message.
This solution enables the determination of correlations between reports, facilitating Mobility Robustness Optimization (MRO) for the CHO with candidate SCG procedure, thereby improving the reliability and efficiency of handover processes.

[0059] The one or more network entities 102 may be dispersed throughout a geographic region to form the wireless communications system 100. One or more of the network entities 102 described herein may be or include or may be referred to as a network node, a base station, a network element, a radio access network (RAN) , a base transceiver station, an access point, a NodeB, an eNodeB (eNB) , a next-generation NodeB (gNB) , or other suitable terminology. A network entity 102 and a UE 104 may communicate via a communication link 110, which may be a wireless or wired connection. For example, a network entity 102 and a UE 104 may perform wireless communication (e.g., receive signaling, transmit signaling) over a Uu interface.
[0060] A network entity 102 may provide a geographic coverage area 112 for which the network entity 102 may support services (e.g., voice, video, packet data, message, broadcast, etc. ) for one or more UEs 104 within the geographic coverage area 112. For example, a network entity 102 and a UE 104 may support wireless communication of signals related to services (e.g., voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcast, etc. ) according to one or multiple radio access technologies. In some implementations, a network entity 102 may be moveable, for example, a satellite associated with a non-terrestrial network (NTN) . In some implementations, different geographic coverage areas 112 associated with the same or different radio access technologies may overlap, but the different geographic coverage areas 112 may be associated with different network entities 102. Information and signals described herein may be represented using any of a variety of different technologies and techniques. For example, data, instructions, commands, information, signals, bits, symbols, and chips that may be referenced throughout the description may be represented by voltages, currents, electromagnetic waves, magnetic fields or particles, optical fields or particles, or any combination thereof.
[0061] The one or more UEs 104 may be dispersed throughout a geographic region of the wireless communications system 100. A UE 104 may include or may be referred to as a mobile device, a wireless device, a remote device, a remote unit, a handheld device, or a subscriber device, or some other suitable terminology. In some implementations, the UE 104 may be referred to as a unit, a station, a terminal, or a client, among other examples. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE 104 may be referred to as an Internet-of-Things (IoT) device, an Internet-of-Everything (IoE) device, or machine-type communication (MTC) device, among other examples. In some implementations, a UE 104 may be stationary in the wireless communications system 100. In some other implementations, a UE 104 may be mobile in the wireless communications system 100.
[0062] The one or more UEs 104 may be devices in different forms or having different capabilities. Some examples of UEs 104 are illustrated in FIG. 1. A UE 104 may be capable of communicating with various types of devices, such as the network entities 102, other UEs 104, or network equipment (e.g., the CN 106, the packet data network 108, a relay device, an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node, or another network equipment) , as shown in FIG. 1. Additionally, or alternatively, a UE 104 may support communication with other network entities 102 or UEs 104, which may act as relays in the wireless communications system 100.
[0063] A UE 104 may also be able to support wireless communication directly with other UEs 104 over a communication link 114. For example, a UE 104 may support wireless communication directly with another UE 104 over a device-to-device (D2D) communication link. In some implementations, such as vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) deployments, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) deployments, or cellular-V2X deployments, the communication link 114 may be referred to as a sidelink (SL) . For example, a UE 104 may support wireless communication directly with another UE 104 over a PC5 interface.
[0064] A network entity 102 may support communications with the CN 106, or with another network entity 102, or both. For example, a network entity 102 may interface with the CN 106 through one or more backhaul links 116 (e.g., via an S1, N2, N3, or another network interface) . The network entities 102 may communicate with each other over the backhaul links 116 (e.g., via an X2, Xn, or another network interface) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 may communicate with each other directly (e.g., between the network entities 102) . In some other implementations, the network entities 102 may communicate with each other or indirectly (e.g., via the CN 106) . In some implementations, one or more network entities 102 may include subcomponents, such as an access network entity, which may be an example of an access node controller (ANC) . An ANC may communicate with the one or more UEs 104 through one or more other access network transmission entities, which may be referred to as a radio heads, smart radio heads, or transmission-reception points (TRPs) .
[0065] In some implementations, a network entity 102 may be configured in a disaggregated architecture, which may be configured to utilize a protocol stack physically or logically distributed among two or more network entities 102, such as an integrated access backhaul (IAB) network, an open RAN (O-RAN) (e.g., a network configuration sponsored by the O-RAN Alliance) , or a virtualized RAN (vRAN) (e.g., a cloud RAN (C-RAN) ) . For example, a network entity 102 may include one or more of a central unit (CU) , a distributed unit (DU) , a radio unit (RU) , a RAN Intelligent Controller (RIC) (e.g., a Near-Real Time RIC (Near-RT RIC) , a Non-Real Time RIC (Non-RT RIC) ) , a Service Management and Orchestration (SMO) system, or any combination thereof.
[0066] An RU may also be referred to as a radio head, a smart radio head, a remote radio head (RRH) , a remote radio unit (RRU) , or a transmission reception point (TRP) . One or more components of the network entities 102 in a disaggregated RAN architecture may be co-located, or one or more components of the network entities 102 may be located in distributed locations (e.g., separate physical locations) . In some implementations, one or more network entities 102 of a disaggregated RAN architecture may be implemented as virtual units (e.g., a virtual CU (VCU) , a virtual DU (VDU) , a virtual RU (VRU) ) .
[0067] Split of functionality between a CU, a DU, and an RU may be flexible and may support different functionalities depending upon which functions (e.g., network layer functions, protocol layer functions, baseband functions, radio frequency functions, and any combinations thereof) are performed at a CU, a DU, or an RU. For example, a functional split of a protocol stack may be employed between a CU and a DU such that the CU may support one or more layers of the protocol stack and the DU may support one or more different layers of the protocol stack. In some implementations, the CU may host upper protocol layer (e.g., a layer 3 (L3) , a layer 2 (L2) ) functionality and signaling (e.g., Radio Resource Control (RRC) , service data adaption protocol (SDAP) , Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) ) . The CU may be connected to one or more DUs or RUs, and the one or more DUs or RUs may host lower protocol layers, such as a layer 1 (L1) (e.g., physical (PHY) layer) or an L2 (e.g., radio link control (RLC) layer, medium access control (MAC) layer) functionality and signaling, and may each be at least partially controlled by the CU.
[0068] Additionally, or alternatively, a functional split of the protocol stack may be employed between a DU and an RU such that the DU may support one or more layers of the protocol stack and the RU may support one or more different layers of the protocol stack. The DU may support one or multiple different cells (e.g., via one or more RUs) . In some implementations, a functional split between a CU and a DU, or between a DU and an RU may be within a protocol layer (e.g., some functions for a protocol layer may be performed by one of a CU, a DU, or an RU, while other functions of the protocol layer are performed by a different one of the CU, the DU, or the RU) .
[0069] A CU may be functionally split further into CU control plane (CU-CP) and CU user plane (CU-UP) functions. A CU may be connected to one or more DUs via a midhaul communication link (e.g., F1, F1-C, F1-U) , and a DU may be connected to one or more RUs via a fronthaul communication link (e.g., open fronthaul (FH) interface) . In some implementations, a midhaul communication link or a fronthaul communication link may be implemented in accordance with an interface (e.g., a channel) between layers of a protocol stack supported by respective network entities 102 that are in communication via such communication links.
[0070] The CN 106 may support user authentication, access authorization, tracking, connectivity, and other access, routing, or mobility functions. The CN 106 may be an evolved packet core (EPC) , or a 5G core (5GC) , which may include a control plane entity that manages access and mobility (e.g., a mobility management entity (MME) , an access and mobility management functions (AMF) ) and a user plane entity that routes packets or interconnects to external networks (e.g., a serving gateway (S-GW) , a Packet Data Network (PDN) gateway (P-GW) , or a user plane function (UPF) ) . In some implementations, the control plane entity may manage non-access stratum (NAS) functions, such as mobility, authentication, and bearer management (e.g., data bearers, signal bearers, etc. ) for the one or more UEs 104 served by the one or more network entities 102 associated with the CN 106.
[0071] The CN 106 may communicate with the packet data network 108 over one or more backhaul links 116 (e.g., via an S1, N2, N3, or another network interface) . The packet data network 108 may include an application server 118. In some implementations, one or more UEs 104 may communicate with the application server 118. A UE 104 may establish a session (e.g., a protocol data unit (PDU) session, or the like) with the CN 106 via a network entity 102. The CN 106 may route traffic (e.g., control information, data, and the like) between the UE 104 and the application server 118 using the established session (e.g., the established PDU session) . The PDU session may be an example of a logical connection between the UE 104 and the CN 106 (e.g., one or more network functions of the CN 106) .
[0072] In the wireless communications system 100, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may use resources of the wireless communications system 100 (e.g., time resources (e.g., symbols, slots, subframes, frames, or the like) or frequency resources (e.g., subcarriers, carriers) ) to perform various operations (e.g., wireless communications) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support different resource structures. For example, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support different frame structures. In some implementations, such as in 4G, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support a single frame structure. In some other implementations, such as in 5G and among other suitable radio access technologies, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support various frame structures (i.e., multiple frame structures) . The network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support various frame structures based on one or more numerologies.
[0073] One or more numerologies may be supported in the wireless communications system 100, and a numerology may include a subcarrier spacing and a cyclic prefix (CP) . A first numerology (e.g., μ=0) may be associated with a first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. In some implementations, the first numerology (e.g., μ=0) associated with the first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) may utilize one slot per subframe. A second numerology (e.g., μ=1) may be associated with a second subcarrier spacing (e.g., 30 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. A third numerology (e.g., μ=2) may be associated with a third subcarrier spacing (e.g., 60 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix or an extended cyclic prefix. A fourth numerology (e.g., μ=3) may be associated with a fourth subcarrier spacing (e.g., 120 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. A fifth numerology (e.g., μ=4) may be associated with a fifth subcarrier spacing (e.g., 240 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix.
[0074] A time interval of a resource (e.g., a communication resource) may be organized according to frames (also referred to as radio frames) . Each frame may have a duration, for example, a 10 millisecond (ms) duration. In some implementations, each frame may include multiple subframes. For example, each frame may include 10 subframes, and each subframe may have a duration, for example, a 1 ms duration. In some implementations, each frame may have the same duration. In some implementations, each subframe of a frame may have the same duration.
[0075] Additionally or alternatively, a time interval of a resource (e.g., a communication resource) may be organized according to slots. For example, a subframe may include a number (e.g., quantity) of slots. The number of slots in each subframe may also depend on the one or more numerologies supported in the wireless communications system 100. For instance, the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth numerologies (i.e., μ=0, μ=1, μ=2, μ=3, μ=4) associated with respective subcarrier spacings of 15 kHz, 30 kHz, 60 kHz, 120 kHz, and 240 kHz may utilize a single slot per subframe, two slots per subframe, four slots per subframe, eight slots per subframe, and 16 slots per subframe, respectively. Each slot may include a number (e.g., quantity) of symbols (e.g., OFDM symbols) . In some implementations, the number (e.g., quantity) of slots for a subframe may depend on a numerology. For a normal cyclic prefix, a slot may include 14 symbols. For an extended cyclic prefix (e.g., applicable for 60 kHz subcarrier spacing) , a slot may include 12 symbols. The relationship between the number of symbols per slot, the number of slots per subframe, and the number of slots per frame for a normal cyclic prefix and an extended cyclic prefix may depend on a numerology. It should be understood that reference to a first numerology (e.g., μ=0) associated with a first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) may be used interchangeably between subframes and slots.
[0076] In the wireless communications system 100, an electromagnetic (EM) spectrum may be split, based on frequency or wavelength, into various classes, frequency bands, frequency channels, etc. By way of example, the wireless communications system 100 may support one or multiple operating frequency bands, such as frequency range designations FR1 (410 MHz –7.125 GHz) , FR2 (24.25 GHz –52.6 GHz) , FR3 (7.125 GHz –24.25 GHz) , FR4 (52.6 GHz –114.25 GHz) , FR4a or FR4-1 (52.6 GHz –71 GHz) , and FR5 (114.25 GHz –300 GHz) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may perform wireless communications over one or more of the operating frequency bands. In some implementations, FR1 may be used by the network entities 102 and the UEs 104, among other equipment or devices for cellular communications traffic (e.g., control information, data) . In some implementations, FR2 may be used by the network entities 102 and the UEs 104, among other equipment or devices for short-range, high data rate capabilities.
[0077] FR1 may be associated with one or multiple numerologies (e.g., at least three numerologies) . For example, FR1 may be associated with a first numerology (e.g., μ=0) , which includes 15 kHz subcarrier spacing; a second numerology (e.g., μ=1) , which includes 30 kHz subcarrier spacing; and a third numerology (e.g., μ=2) , which includes 60 kHz subcarrier spacing. FR2 may be associated with one or multiple numerologies (e.g., at least 2 numerologies) . For example, FR2 may be associated with a third numerology (e.g., μ=2) , which includes 60 kHz subcarrier spacing; and a fourth numerology (e.g., μ=3) , which includes 120 kHz subcarrier spacing.
[0078] Regarding SHR: One of the functions of Mobility Robustness Optimization is to detect a sub-optimal or near failure successful handover or PCell change event. The aim is to identify underlying conditions during successful ordinary handovers, successful DAPS handovers, or successful Conditional handovers. For analysis of successful handover or PCell change, the UE may collect Successful Handover Report (SHR) based on configuration by network, if stored, and makes the SHR available to the network. The UE stores the SHR until it is fetched by the network or for 48 hours after the SHR is recorded. For SHR collected during intra-NR handover, if the target NR node fetches the SHR from the UE and the trigger of SHR is T310 / T312, it may forward the information to the source NR node, i.e. the node handling the cell reported as source cell in this SHR, by using the ACCESS AND MOBILITY INDICATION message over Xn or by means of the Uplink RAN configuration transfer procedure and Downlink RAN configuration transfer procedure over NG. If the NG-RAN node that fetches the SHR from the UE is neither the source node nor the target node of the handover or PCell change, it forwards the information to the node (s) which configured the SHR trigger causing the SHR to be generated, by using the ACCESS AND MOBILITY INDICATION message over Xn or by means of the Uplink RAN configuration transfer procedure and Downlink RAN configuration transfer procedure over NG. In case of failure shortly after successful Handover, the same mobility event may generate both an SHR and an RLF report. In this case, the node (s) , which configured the SHR trigger causing the SHR, may take the duplication into account e.g. ignore the SHR. Upon retrieval of an SHR, the receiving node may analyze whether its mobility configuration needs adjustment.
[0079] Regarding SPR: The objective of Successful PSCell addition or change Report (SPR) is to detect sub-optimal or near failure successful PSCell change / CPC or PSCell addition / CPA. For analysis of such sub-optimal or near failure successful PSCell change / CPC or PSCell addition / CPA, the UE may collect SPR based on the triggers configured by the network and makes the SPR available to the network. If the SPR available indication via SN RRCReconfigurationComplete is received by SN, SN should inform MN that an SPR is available at the UE via S-NODE MODIFICATION REQUIRED message. For PSCell addition / CPA or PSCell change / CPC (MN or SN initiated) , the target SN always decides the T304 trigger for SPR and performs root cause analysis. For SN-initiated PSCell change / CPC, the source SN decides the T310 / T312 triggers for SPR and is responsible for SPR related optimizations e.g., to optimize PSCell change / CPC configuration or associated mobility thresholds or adjust T310 / T312 timer values. For MN-initiated PSCell change / CPC, the MN decides the T310 / T312 triggers for SPR. MN may optimize PSCell change / CPC configuration or associated mobility thresholds or both. Source SN may optimize lower layer issues e.g., adjust T310 / T312 timer values. The SPR can be fetched from the UE by the MN only while the UE is still connected to the MN, or by a node different from the MN that sent the SPR configuration to the UE if the UE is not connected to the MN anymore. In case the SPR is retrieved in a node different from the MN that sent the SPR configuration to the UE, the SPR is first forwarded to that MN, which then forwards it to the respective SN (s) which should perform the SPR optimization.
[0080] Regarding SCG failure information: The purpose of this procedure related to SCG failure information is to inform E-UTRAN or NR MN about an SCG failure the UE has experienced i.e. SCG radio link failure, failure of SCG reconfiguration with sync, SCG configuration failure for RRC message on SRB3, SCG integrity check failure, and consistent uplink LBT failures on PSCell for operation with shared spectrum channel access. Failure type, measurement results in MCG and measurement results in SCG can be included in the SCG Failure Information message. After the network receives the SCG Failure Information message, it can trigger the UE to perform SN release / modification / change. The following information can be included in the SCGFailureInformation in case of SCG failure: previousPSCellID (i.e. indicates the physical cell ID and carrier frequency, or CGI of the cell that is the source PSCell of the last SN change) ; failedPSCellID (i.e. indicates the physical cell ID and carrier frequency, or CGI of the cell in which SCG failure is detected or the target PSCell of the failed PSCell change) ; timeSCGFailure, which indicates the time elapsed since the last execution of RRCReconfiguration with reconfigurationWithSync for the SCG until the SCG failure; RA-Information; failureType; and measurement results.
[0081] A CHO with candidate SCG (s) is defined as a PCell change with PSCell addition / change that is executed by the UE when the execution conditions for both candidate PCell and the associated candidate PSCell are met. The UE starts evaluating the execution conditions for candidate PCell (s) and candidate PSCell (s) simultaneously upon receiving the CHO with candidate SCG (s) configuration, and stops evaluating the execution conditions once a PCell change or a PSCell change is triggered. The UE does not execute CHO with candidate SCG (s) until the execution conditions for both the candidate PCell and the associated candidate PSCell (s) are met. Details about MRO for a connection failure case or a near-failure successful case in a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure should be further studied.
[0082] Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution for CHO with candidate SCG(s) procedure. In the solution, a first network node, which may be a source MN or a target MN, may determine a correlation of a first report and a second report, where the first report is an SHR or an RLF report, and the second report is an SPR or an SCG failure information message. As such, the correlation can be determined and accordingly the MRO for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure can be performed. Principles and implementations of the present disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the figures.
[0083] FIG. 2A illustrates a schematic diagram of an example communication network 200 in which some embodiments of the present disclosure can be implemented. As shown in FIG. 2A, the communication network 200 may include network nodes 210, 215, 220, 225, and 240, and a UE 230.
[0084] In a scenario that a handover or a PCell change or a CHO execution, as well as a PSCell / SCG addition or change or a CPAC execution may be trigger or performed, e.g., in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, the RAN node 210 may be referred to as a source MN (S-MN) 210 and the network node 215 may be referred to as a source SN (S-SN) 215, the network node 220 may be referred to as a candidate target MN 220 and the network node 225 may be referred to as a candidate target SN 225. It is understood that if a candidate target PCell provided by the candidate target MN 220 is selected as a target PCell, then the candidate target MN 220 is a target MN (T-MN) 220, if a candidate target PSCell provided by the candidate target SN 225 is selected as a target PSCell, then the candidate target SN 225 is a target SN (T-SN) 225. FIG. 2B illustrates an example successful process of CHO with candidate SCG (s) .
[0085] As illustrated, a network node 240, which is a receiving node 240, is different from any of the MNs or SNs. In the present disclosure, the receiving node 240 is a network node to which the UE transmits the first report, and / or the second report. In some implementations, the receiving node 240 is a network node that the UE 230 connects to (accesses to) while providing (transmitting) at least one report (e.g., the first report, and / or the second report) to network.
[0086] In the present disclosure, the term “CHO with candidate SCG (s) ” may also be called as CHO with candidate SCGs, CHO with one or more candidate SCGs, CHO with at least one candidate SCG, CHO with multiple candidate SCGs, CHO with CPAC, CHO with (candidate) target MCG and candidate target SCG (s) for CPC / CPA, CHO including (candidate) target MCG and candidate target SCG (s) configuration, or the like, the present disclosure does not limit this aspect.
[0087] It is to be understood that the numbers of devices and their connection relationships and types shown in FIG. 2A are only for the purpose of illustration without suggesting any limitation. The environment may include any suitable numbers of devices adapted for implementing embodiments of the present disclosure. For example, the UE 230 may be configured with carrier aggregation (CA) or dual connectivity (DC) . For example, one or more other candidate target MNs, and one or more other candidate target SNs may further be included. For example, another node may be included, which may be called as a receiving node.
[0088] In a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, the CHO execution conditions for candidate PCells and CPA / CPC execution conditions for candidate PSCells are provided based on the source MeasConfig. In a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, source MN determines CHO execution conditions, i.e. the source MN determines the execution conditions on candidate PCells e.g. based on the source MCG MeasConfig.
[0089] In a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, the candidate target MN provides the candidate PSCells recommended by the candidate target MN via the latest measurement results for the candidate target SN (s) to choose and configure the candidate SCG cell (s) , and provides the maximum number of PSCells that the candidate target SN can prepare for the UE in the SN Addition Request message. Within the list of cells as indicated within the measurement results indicated by the candidate target MN, the candidate target SN decides the list of PSCell (s) to prepare (considering the maximum number indicated by the candidate target MN) and, for each prepared PSCell, the candidate target SN decides other SCG SCells and provides the new corresponding SCG radio resource configuration to the candidate target MN in an NR RRC reconfiguration message contained in the SN Addition Request Acknowledge message with the prepared PSCell ID (s) .
[0090] Also, the candidate target MN determines CPA / CPC execution conditions, i.e. the candidate target MN determines the parameters of the execution conditions for candidate PSCells (e.g. event A4 threshold) . The candidate target MN indicates to the source MN the parameters of the execution condition of each prepared candidate PSCell. The candidate target MN also includes a list of one or more (candidate) target SNs in Handover Request Acknowledge message with the PDU Session admission results, data forwarding addresses and list of prepared PSCells for each prepared (candidate) target SN.
[0091] For each configuration of CHO with candidate SCG (s) , the source MN provides an execution condition for the candidate PCell and an execution condition for the candidate PSCell. Besides, each RRC reconfiguration message sent to the UE contains an MCG configuration and an SCG configuration which is received from the candidate target SN.
[0092] In case of CHO with candidate SCG (s) , the source MN can provide multiple CHO configurations for the same candidate PCell (i.e. without the SCG configuration or with the SCG configuration of different candidate PSCell) .
[0093] When the CPA / CPC execution condition is met but no CHO execution condition is met, the UE continues to evaluate both CHO and CPA / CPC execution conditions. The UE doesn’ t execute CPC / CPA unless CHO execution condition is fulfilled.
[0094] For CHO+CPC we only consider execution when BOTH conditions are met (When the CHO execution condition is met but no CPC execution condition is met, if there is an available CHO-only or Rel-17 CHO with SCG configuration for which the CHO condition is met, the UE performs the CHO-only or Rel-17 CHO with SCG execution, and THUS the network can handle such situation by providing proper configurations) .
[0095] The UE maintains connection with the source MN and, if the UE is configured with a PSCell, with the source PSCell, after receiving CHO configuration, and starts evaluating the execution condition for the candidate PCell (s) and if any, the execution condition for the candidate PSCell (s) :
[0096] - If at least one candidate PCell satisfies the corresponding execution condition and the associated candidate PSCell satisfies the corresponding execution condition, the UE detaches from the source MN, applies the stored corresponding configuration for that selected candidate PCell and the associated candidate PSCell, synchronises to that candidate PCell, and completes the RRC handover procedure by sending RRC reconfiguration complete message to the target MN. The UE includes an embedded SN RRCReconfigurationComplete message for the target SN, and information enabling the target MN to identify the target SN of the selected candidate PSCell.
[0097] - Else if at least one candidate PCell satisfies the corresponding execution condition and there is no associated execution condition for a candidate PSCell, the UE detaches from the source MN, applies the stored corresponding configuration for that selected candidate PCell and, if included, the associated PSCell, synchronises to that candidate PCell and completes the RRC handover procedure by sending RRC reconfiguration complete message to the target MN. If the stored configuration for the selected candidate PCell includes an SCG configuration, the UE includes an embedded SN RRCReconfigurationComplete message for the target SN.
[0098] - The UE releases the stored CHO configurations after successful completion of the RRC handover procedure.
[0099] In the present disclosure, a PCell refers to a primary cell of a master cell group (MCG) , and a PSCell refers to a primary cell of an SCG.
[0100] In some examples, in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, PCell change / CHO execution / handover may fail, the UE stores an RLF report, and sends the RLF report to network. In some other examples, in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, an RLF may occur shortly after a successful PCell change / CHO execution / HO, the UE stores an RLF report, and sends the RLF report to network.
[0101] In some examples, in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, when SCG failure happens, the UE stores the SCG failure related information, and sends the SCG Failure Information message to network. For example, if SCG failure happens before PCell change / CHO execution / handover is complete, the UE stores the SCG failure related information, and sends the stored SCG Failure Information message to the target MN upon PCell change / CHO execution / handover is successful, or, sends the stored SCG Failure Information message to a network node where the UE resumes radio link connection if PCell change / CHO execution / handover fails.
[0102] In a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, a near failure successful case may happen. In some examples, in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, the PCell change / CHO execution / handover may be a near failure successful PCell change / CHO execution / handover, and SHR is stored and reported for the near failure successful PCell change / CHO execution / handover. For example, the SHR may be triggered due to T310 / T312 related SHR trigger condition is fulfilled. In some examples, in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, the PAC / CPAC may be a near failure successful PAC / CPAC, and SPR is stored and reported for the near-failure PAC / CPAC execution. For example, SPR may be triggered due to T310 / T312 related SPR trigger condition is fulfilled. In such a case, to store or report information related with near failure successful case in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, SHR and / or SPR may be reused, e.g. reuse the existing UE variable for SHR to log / store information related with successful CHO execution, and reuse the existing UE variable for SPR to log / store information related with successful CPAC execution. Then, the UE may send the SHR / SPR to the network (e.g. a receiving node) . For SHR in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, the existing forwarding mechanism can be reused, e.g. the NG-RAN node that fetches the SHR from the UE forwards the information to the node (s) which configured the SHR trigger causing the SHR to be generated. For SPR in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, the existing forwarding mechanism (i.e. the SPR can be fetched from the UE by the MN only while the UE is still connected to the MN, or by a node different from the MN that sent the SPR configuration to the UE if the UE is not connected to the MN anymore, in case the SPR is retrieved in a node different from the MN that sent the SPR configuration to the UE, the SPR is first forwarded to that MN, which then forwards it to the respective SN (s) which should perform the SPR optimization) can’ t work well.
[0103] FIG. 3 illustrates a signalling chart illustrating a communication process 300 in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. The process 300 may involve the UE 230, the receiving node 240, the source MN 210, and the target MN 220 as shown in FIG. 2A. It would be appreciated that the process 300 may be applied to other communication scenarios, which will not be described in detail.
[0104] The process 300 provides Option 1, Option 2, and Option 3 for SPR forwarding mechanism at network side for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. The source MN 210 is a network node that sent the SPR configuration to the UE 230, and the target MN 220 is a network node to which the UE 230 should successfully access.
[0105] In Option 1, the UE 230 transmits the SPR to a receiving node 240 at 311, the SPR includes cell information of a source PCell and / or cell information of a target PCell. For example, the cell information of a source PCell may be a cell ID of the source PCell, and the cell information of a target PCell may be a cell ID of the target PCell. It should be noted that, in the present disclosure, a cell ID may be implemented as a Physical Cell Identifier (PCI) + carrier frequency information, for example, the carrier frequency information may be an Absolute Radio Frequency Channel Number (ARFCN) . It should be noted that, in the present disclosure, a cell ID may be implemented as Cell Global Identity information (CGI-info) , e.g., a Public Land Mobile Network identity (PLMN-Identity) , a Cell Identity, and a Tracking Area Code (TAC) . The receiving node 240 transmits the SPR to the source MN 210 at 312, and then the source MN 210 further transmits the SPR to the target MN 220 at 313.
[0106] In case the SPR is retrieved in a receiving node 240 different from the source MN 210 that sent the SPR configuration to the UE 230 or the target MN 220 that to which the UE 230 successfully accesses, the receiving node 240 that fetches the SPR from the UE 230 forwards the SPR to the source MN 210 first, then the source MN 210 forwards the SPR to the target MN 220. Alternatively, if needed, the target MN 220 may forward the SPR to the respective SN (s) (e.g., a target SN 225 in FIG. 2A) which should perform the SPR optimization (e.g. corresponding SN that generates the SPR trigger condition that triggers the SPR) . In order to enable the receiving node 240 to forward the SPR to the source MN 210, the UE 230 should store and report cell information (e.g. cell ID, in this disclosure, cell ID may be PCI+ carrier frequency information (e.g. ARFCN) , and / or, CGI-info (e.g. PLMN-Identity, Cell Identity and TrackingAreaCode) ) of a source PCell, e.g., cell information (e.g. cell ID) of source PCell needs to be included in the SPR. Furthermore, in order to enable the source MN 210 to forward the SPR to the target MN 220, the UE 230 should store and report cell information (e.g. cell ID) of target PCell, e.g., cell information (e.g. cell ID) of a target PCell needs to be included in the SPR.
[0107] In Option 2, the UE 230 transmits the SPR to a receiving node 240 at 321, the SPR includes cell information of a target PCell. For example, the cell information of a target PCell may be a cell ID of the target PCell. The receiving node 240 transmits the SPR to the target MN 220 at 322.
[0108] In case the SPR is retrieved in a receiving node 240 different from the source MN 210 that sent the SPR configuration to the UE 230 or the target MN 220 that to which the UE 230 successfully accesses, the receiving node 240 that fetches the SPR from the UE 230 forwards the SPR to the target MN 220. Alternatively, if needed, the target MN 220 forwards the SPR to the respective SN (s) which should perform the SPR optimization (e.g. corresponding SN that generates the SPR trigger condition that triggers the SPR) . In order to enable the receiving node 240 to forward the SPR to the target MN 220, the UE 230 should store and report cell information (e.g. cell ID) of target PCell, e.g., cell information (e.g. cell ID) of target PCell needs to be included in the SPR.
[0109] In option 3, the UE 230 transmits the SPR to the target MN 220 at 331. For example, the SPR includes cell information of a target PCell. For example, the cell information of a target PCell may be a cell ID of the target PCell.
[0110] In case the UE 230 is still connected to the target MN 220 when SPR is required, the UE 230 sends the SPR to the target MN 220. Alternatively, if needed, the target MN 220 forwards the SPR to the respective SN (s) which should perform the SPR optimization (e.g. corresponding SN that generates the SPR trigger condition that triggers the SPR) .
[0111] As mentioned above, for SHR in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, the existing forwarding mechanism can be reused, for example, the UE 230 may transmit the SHR to a receiving node 240, which may further forward the SHR to the node (s) that configured the SHR trigger causing the SHR to be generated.
[0112] In some implementations, the UE 230 may transmit an indication to the receiving node 240 (Option 1 or Option 2) or to the target MN 220 (Option 3) , to indicate that both the SHR and the SPR are available for a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. The receiving node 240, which receives SHR / SPR from the UE 230, may further transmit an indication to the source MN 210 (Option 1) or the target MN 220 (Option 2) . The indication may indicate that the SHR and the SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG(s) procedure. In Option 1, the source MN 210 may further transmit the indication to the target MN 220, e.g., at 312.
[0113] In some implementations, the SHR and the SPR each may include an indication or include a common IE. For example, the indication or the common IE may indicate that the SHR and the SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. For example, the common IE may include a C-RNTI of a source PCell, a C-RNTI of a source PSCell, a C-RNTI of a target PCell, or a C-RNTI of a target PSCell.
[0114] In some implementations, the SHR and the SPR may be included in a same message. The receiving node 240, which receives SHR / SPR from the UE 230, may further forward the SHR and the SPR to the source MN 210 (Option 1) or the target MN 220 (Option 2) in a same message, which may be an Xn or NG message. For example, the SHR and the SPR in a same message may implicitly indicate that the SHR and the SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. In Option 1, after receiving the message which includes both the SHR and the SPR, the source MN 210 may transmit, to the target MN 220, a message including both the SHR and the SPR, which may implicitly indicate that the SHR and the SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure; or the source MN 210 may transmit, to the target MN 220, an indication indicating that the SHR and the SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0115] In a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, for CHO execution, it may be a near-failure successful CHO execution, or CHO execution may fail, or an RLF may occur shortly after a successful CHO execution; for a CPAC execution, it may be a near-failure successful CPAC execution, or CPAC execution may fail, or an SCG failure may occur shortly after a successful CPAC execution. Some possible cases are shown in Table 1 below.
[0116] Table 1
[0117] When a sub-optimal handover (HO) or CHO execution happens in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, SHR may be reused for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. For SHR in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, the source MN 210 generates T310 / T312 related SHR trigger threshold. When the SHR is triggered due to T310 / T312 related SHR trigger condition is fulfilled, the node receiving SHR (such as the receiving node 240) from the UE 230 would forward the SHR to the source MN 210, then the source MN 210 performs SHR optimization.
[0118] When a sub-optimal PAC or CPAC execution happens in the CHO with candidate SCG(s) procedure, SPR may be reused for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. For SPR in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, the target MN 220 (or a candidate target MN) generates T310 / T312 related SPR trigger threshold. When the SPR is triggered due to T310 / T312 related SPR trigger condition is fulfilled, the SPR may be transmitted to the target MN 220, by one of Option 1 to Option 3 that discussed with reference to FIG. 3. For example, in Option 1, the receiving node 240 that fetches the SPR from the UE 230 forwards the SPR to the source MN 210 first, then the source MN 210 forwards the SPR to the target MN 220. For example, in Option 2, the receiving node 240 that fetches the SPR from the UE 230 forwards the SPR to the target MN 220. For example, in Option 3, the UE 230 sends the SPR to the target MN 220.
[0119] When CHO execution fails in a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, or an RLF occurs shortly after a successful CHO execution in a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, the RLF report may be stored and reported by the UE 230.
[0120] When CPAC execution fails in a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, or an SCG failure occurs shortly after a successful CPAC execution in a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, the SCG Failure Information message may be stored and reported by the UE 230.
[0121] Since events happened to MN / MCG (e.g. near failure successful PCell change / handover / CHO, or HOF / CHO execution failure / PCell change failure, or RLF) and events happened to SN / SCG (e.g. near failure successful PAC / CPAC, or PAC / CPAC execution failure, or SCG failure) in a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure are correlated, network needs to associate the failure / near failure in MCG and failure / near failure in SCG when performing MRO analysis and optimization, e.g. network needs to understand the report related to failure / near failure in MCG and the report related to failure / near failure in SCG are correlated for a same UE 230 in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0122] FIG. 4 illustrates a signalling chart illustrating a communication process 400 of correlation in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. The process 400 may involve the UE 230, the receiving node 240, the source MN 210, and the target MN 220 as shown in FIG. 2A. It would be appreciated that the process 400 may be applied to other communication scenarios, which will not be described in detail.
[0123] In the present disclosure, the correlation may be determined at a source MN 210 (in the operation 410) or at a target MN 220 (in the operation 420) . For example, the network node for determining the correlation may be referred to as a first network node, and the other one network node (among the source MN 210 and the target MN 220) may be referred to as a second network node.
[0124] It should be appreciated that although both operations 410 and 420 are presented in FIG. 4, the operation 410 and the operation 420 are independently or decoupled or in parallel with each other in an actual scenario. For example, both or only one of the operations 410 and 420 may be performed. For example, an order of steps that shown in FIG. 4 is not limited in the present disclosure.
[0125] In the operation 410, the source MN 210 obtains the first report at 411 and obtains the second report at 412, then the source MN 210 may determine the correlation at 413.
[0126] In some examples, the source MN 210 may receive the SHR, which is forwarded from the receiving node 240, or forwarded from the target MN 220, or from the UE 230. In some examples, the source MN 210 may receive the RLF report, which is forwarded from the receiving node 240, or forwarded from the target MN 220, or from the UE 230.
[0127] In some examples, the source MN 210 may receive the SPR, which is forwarded from the receiving node 240. In some examples, the source MN 210 may receive the SPR or the SCG failure information message from the target MN 220, for example, based on an inquiry or a subscription.
[0128] It is to be noted that although steps 411 and 412 are shown separately, in some examples, they can be combined and implemented as one step. For example, the receiving node 240 may transmit both the SHR (or RLF report) and the SPR in a same message to the source MN 210. For example, the receiving node 240 may transmit both the SHR (or RLF report) and the SPR in a same message to the target MN 220 via Xn or NG interface, and the target MN 220 may forward the message including both the SHR (or RLF report) and the SPR (or SCG failure information message) to the source MN 210 via Xn or NG interface.
[0129] It is to be noted that in some examples, the first report and the second report may be obtained by the source MN 210 at a same time (e.g., simultaneously or nearly at the same time) , in some other example, the first report and the second report may be received by the source MN 210 at different times (with the first report received first or the second report received first) , the present disclosure does not limit at this aspect.
[0130] In the operation 420, the target MN 220 obtains the first report at 421 and obtains the second report at 422, then the target MN 220 may determine the correlation at 413.
[0131] In some examples, the target MN 220 may receive the SHR, which is forwarded from the receiving node 240, or from the source MN 210, or from the UE 230. In some examples, the target MN 220 may receive the RLF report, which is forwarded from the receiving node 240, or from the target MN 220, or from the UE 230. For example, the target MN 220 may receive the SHR or the RLF report from the source MN 210, for example, based on an inquiry or a subscription.
[0132] In some examples, the target MN 220 may receive the SPR, which is forwarded from the receiving node 240 or the source MN 210, or from the UE 230. In some examples, the target MN 220 may receive the SPR or the SCG failure information message from the UE 230.
[0133] It is to be noted that although steps 421 and 422 are shown separately, in some examples, they can be combined and implemented as one step. For example, the receiving node 240 may transmit both the SHR and the SPR (or both the RLF report and the SPR) in a same message to the target MN 220. For example, the receiving node 240 may transmit both the SHR and the SPR (or both the RLF report and the SPR) in a same message to the source MN 210 via Xn or NG interface, and the source MN 210 may forward the message including both the SHR and the SPR (or both the RLF report and the SPR) to the target MN 220 via Xn or NG interface.
[0134] It is to be noted that in some examples, the first report and the second report may be obtained by the target MN 220 at a same time (e.g., simultaneously or nearly at the same time) , in some other example, the first report and the second report may be received by the target MN 220 at different times (with the first report received first or the second report received first) , the present disclosure does not limit at this aspect.
[0135] Some detailed embodiments are provided below with reference to different combinations of Cases that listed in Table 1 above.
[0136] Case 1 and Case A:
[0137] In a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, the CHO execution / handover may be a near failure successful CHO execution / handover, the PAC / CPAC may be a near failure successful PAC / CPAC. For the case that SHR is triggered due to T310 / T312 related SHR trigger condition is fulfilled, and SPR is triggered due to T310 / T312 related SPR trigger condition is fulfilled, a correlation of the SHR and the SPR may be determined by the first network node, i.e., the source MN 210 or the target MN 220.
[0138] In some implementations, if Option 1 in FIG. 3 is adopted for SPR, the correlation of the SHR and the SPR may be determined at the source MN 210. In some examples, the source MN 210 associates the SHR and the SPR, and performs MRO analysis and optimization for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. In some examples, the source MN 210 identifiers that the SHR and the SPR are correlated for a same UE (e.g., the UE 230) in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0139] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the SHR / SPR from the UE 230, forwards the SHR / SPR to the source MN 210. The receiving node 240 may further transmit an indication concerning the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure to the source MN 210. For example, the indication transmitted by the receiving node 240 is generated by the receiving node 240. For another example, the UE 230 may transmit another indication to the receiving node 240, the another indication indicates that both SHR and SPR are available for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, and the indication from the receiving node 240 to the source MN 210 is based on the another indication from the UE 230.
[0140] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the SHR / SPR from the UE 230, transmits both the SHR and the SPR to the source MN 210 simultaneously via a same message (e.g., a same Xn or NG message) , which implicitly indicates that the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0141] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the SHR / SPR from the UE 230, forwards the SHR / SPR to the source MN 210, and a common IE or an indication is included in both the SHR and the SPR. In some examples, the common IE may be a C-RNTI of a source PCell, a C-RNTI of a source PSCell, a C-RNTI of a target PCell, or a C-RNTI of a target PSCell. In some examples, the indication in the SHR and SPR is concerning the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, for example, the indication in the SHR indicates that besides SHR there is an SPR for the same UE in the same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, the indication in the SPR indicates that besides SPR there is an SHR for the same UE in the same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. In some examples, the common IE or the indication included in both the SHR and the SPR is generated by the UE 230. In some examples, the common IE or the indication included in both the SHR and the SPR may be used for correlation, for example, the source MN 210 identifies that both SHR and SPR are correlated for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0142] In some implementations, if Option 1 in FIG. 3 is adopted for SPR, the correlation of the SHR and the SPR may be determined at the target MN 220. In some examples, the target MN 220 associates the SHR and the SPR, and performs MRO analysis and optimization for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. In some examples, the target MN 220 identifiers that the SHR and the SPR are correlated for a same UE (e.g., the UE 230) in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0143] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the SPR from the UE 230, forwards the SPR to the source MN 210, and then the source MN 210 forwards the SPR to the target MN 220. The target MN 220 may transmit an inquiry or a subscription to the source MN 210, to inquire about or subscribe for whether there is a sub-optional PCell change / CHO execution / handover. The source MN 210 may transmit a response to the target MN 220 in response to the inquiry (or the subscription) , or the source MN 210 may transmit a response to the target MN 220 upon there is a sub-optional PCell change / CHO execution / handover. For example, the response may indicate that a sub-optional PCell change / CHO execution / handover happened. Furthermore, for example, the response may be an indication indicating that a sub-optional PCell change / CHO execution / handover happened, or the response may be the SHR, that is, the source MN 210 transmits the SHR to the target MN 220. Then, the target MN 220 identifies that both SHR and SPR are correlated for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0144] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the SHR / SPR from the UE 230, forwards the SHR / SPR to the source MN 210, in addition, the receiving node 240 may further transmit an indication concerning the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure to the source MN 210. Then, the source MN 210 forwards the SHR / SPR to the target MN 220, and may transmit the indication concerning the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure to the target MN 220. In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the SHR / SPR from the UE 230, may transmit an indication concerning the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure to the target MN 220. For one example, the indication transmitted by the receiving node 240 is generated by the receiving node 240. For another example, the UE 230 may transmit another indication to the receiving node 240 which indicates that both SHR and SPR are available for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, and the indication from the receiving node 240 to the source MN 210 (or to the target MN 220) is based on the another indication from the UE 230.
[0145] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the SHR / SPR from the UE 230, transmits both the SHR and the SPR to the source MN 210 simultaneously via a same message (e.g., a same Xn or NG message) , which implicitly indicates that the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. In addition, the source MN 210 may transmit an indication concerning the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure to the target MN 220; or the source MN 210 may transmit both SHR and SPR to the target MN 220 simultaneously via a same message (e.g., a same Xn or NG message) which implicitly indicates that the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the SHR / SPR from the UE 230, transmits both the SHR and the SPR to the target MN 220 simultaneously via a same message (e.g., a same Xn or NG message) , which implicitly indicates that the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0146] In some embodiments, a common IE or an indication is included in both the SHR and the SPR. In some examples, the common IE may be a C-RNTI of a source PCell, a C- RNTI of a source PSCell, a C-RNTI of a target PCell, or a C-RNTI of a target PSCell. In some examples, the common IE or the indication included in both the SHR and the SPR may be used for correlation, for example, the target MN 220 identifies that both SHR and SPR are correlated for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG(s) procedure.
[0147] In some implementations, if Option 2 or Option 3 in FIG.
[0148] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the SPR from the UE 230, forwards the SPR to the target MN 220 (in Option 2) ; or the UE 230 transmits the SPR to the target MN 220 (in Option 3) . The source MN 210 may transmit an inquiry or a subscription to the target MN 220 to inquire about or subscribe for whether there is a sub-optional PAC / CPAC. The target MN 220 may transmit a response to the source MN 210 in response to the inquiry (or the subscription) , or the target MN 220 may transmit a response to the source MN 210 upon there is a sub-optional PAC / CPAC. For example, the response may indicate that a sub-optional PAC / CPAC happened. Furthermore, for example, the response may be an indication indicating that a sub-optional PAC / CPAC happened, or the response may be the SPR, that is, the target MN 220 transmits the SPR to the source MN 210. Then, the source MN 210 identifies that both SHR and SPR are correlated for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0149] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the SHR / SPR from the UE 230, may further transmit an indication concerning the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure to the source MN 210. For one example, the indication concerning the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure is generated by the receiving node 240. For another example, the UE 230 may transmit another indication to the receiving node 240 indicating that both SHR and SPR are available for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, and the indication transmitted by the receiving node 240 is based on the another indication from the UE 230.
[0150] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the SHR / SPR from the UE 230, transmits both the SHR and the SPR to the source MN 210 simultaneously via a same message (e.g., a same Xn or NG message) , which implicitly indicates that the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0151] In some embodiments, a common IE or an indication is included in both the SHR and the SPR. In some examples, the common IE or the indication included in both the SHR and the SPR may be used for correlation, for example, the source MN 210 identifies that both SHR and SPR are correlated for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG(s) procedure.
[0152] In some implementations, if Option 2 or Option 3 in FIG.
[0153] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the SPR from the UE 230, forwards the SPR to the target MN 220 (in Option 2) ; or the UE 230 transmits the SPR to the target MN 220 (in Option 3) .
[0154] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the SHR / SPR from the UE 230, may further transmit an indication concerning the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure to the target MN 220. For one example, the indication concerning the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure is generated by the receiving node 240. In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the SHR / SPR from the UE 230, may transmit an indication concerning the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG(s) procedure to the source MN 210, and then the source MN 210 forwards the SHR / SPR to the target MN 220, or the source MN 210 forwards the indication concerning the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure to the target MN 220.
[0155] In some embodiments, the UE 230 may transmit an indication to the target MN 220, where the indication may indicate that both SHR and SPR are available for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0156] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the SHR / SPR from the UE 230, transmits both the SHR and the SPR to the source MN 210 simultaneously via a same message (e.g., a same Xn or NG message) , which implicitly indicates that the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0157] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the SHR / SPR from the UE 230, transmits both the SHR and the SPR to the target MN 220 simultaneously via a same message (e.g., a same Xn or NG message) , which implicitly indicates that the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0158] In some embodiments, the UE 230 transmits both the SHR and the SPR to the target MN 220 simultaneously via a same message, which implicitly indicates that the SHR and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0159] In some embodiments, a common IE or an indication is included in both the SHR and the SPR. In some examples, the common IE or the indication included in both the SHR and the SPR may be used for correlation, for example, the target MN 220 identifies that both SHR and SPR are correlated for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG(s) procedure.
[0160] Case 1 and Case B, or, Case 1 and Case C:
[0161] In a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, when SCG failure happens before CHO execution / handover is complete, the UE 230 stores the SCG failure related information, and sends the SCG Failure Information message to the target MN 220 if CHO execution / handover is successful. For the successful CHO execution / handover, it is a near failure successful CHO execution / handover. For the case that SHR is triggered due to T310 / T312 related SHR trigger condition is fulfilled, a correlation of the SHR and the SCG Failure Information message may be determined by the first network node, i.e., the source MN 210 or the target MN 220.
[0162] In some implementations, the correlation of the SHR and the SCG Failure Information message may be determined at the source MN 210. In some examples, the source MN 210 associates the SHR and the SCG Failure Information message, and performs MRO analysis and optimization for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. In some examples, the source MN 210 identifiers that the SHR and the SCG Failure Information message are correlated for a same UE (e.g., the UE 230) in a same CHO with candidate SCG(s) procedure.
[0163] In some embodiments, the source MN 210 may transmit an inquiry or a subscription to the target MN 220 to inquire about or subscribe for whether there is an SCG failure. The target MN 220 may transmit a response to the source MN 210 in response to the inquiry (or the subscription) , or the target MN 220 may transmit a response to the source MN 210 upon there is an SCG failure. For example, the response may indicate that the SCG failure happened. Furthermore, for example, the response may be an indication indicating that an SCG failure happened, or the response may be the SCG Failure Information message. For example, the target MN 220 may transmit SCG failure related information to the source MN 210. For example, the source MN 210 identifies that both the SHR and the SCG Failure Information message are correlated for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0164] In some embodiments, a common IE or an indication is included in both the SHR and the SCG Failure Information message. In some examples, the common IE may be a C-RNTI of a source PCell, a C-RNTI of a source PSCell, a C-RNTI of a target PCell, or a C-RNTI of a target PSCell. In some examples, the indication in the SHR and the SCG Failure Information message is concerning the SHR and SCG Failure Information message are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, for example, the indication in the SHR indicates that besides the SHR there is an SCG failure for the same UE in the same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, the indication in the SCG Failure Information message indicates that besides the SCG Failure Information message there is an SHR for the same UE in the same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. In some examples, the common IE or the indication included in both the SHR and the SCG Failure Information message is generated by the UE 230. In some examples, the common IE or the indication included in both the SHR and the SCG Failure Information message may be used for correlation, for example, the source MN 210 identifies that both SHR and SCG Failure Information message are correlated for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0165] In some implementations, the correlation of the SHR and the SCG Failure Information message may be determined at the target MN 220. In some examples, the target MN 220 associates the SHR and the SCG Failure Information message, and performs MRO analysis and optimization for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. In some examples, the target MN 220 identifiers that the SHR and the SCG Failure Information message are correlated for a same UE (e.g., the UE 230) in a same CHO with candidate SCG(s) procedure.
[0166] In some embodiments, the target MN 220 may transmit an inquiry or a subscription to the source MN 210, to inquire about or subscribe for whether there is a sub-optional PCell change / CHO execution / handover. Then, the target MN 220 identifies that both SHR and SCG Failure Information message are correlated for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0167] In some embodiments, a common IE or an indication is included in both the SHR and the SCG Failure Information message. In some examples, the common IE may be a C-RNTI of a source PCell, a C-RNTI of a source PSCell, a C-RNTI of a target PCell, or a C-RNTI of a target PSCell. In some examples, the indication in the SHR and the SCG Failure Information message is concerning the SHR and SCG Failure Information message are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, for example, the indication in the SHR indicates that besides SHR there is an SCG Failure Information message for the same UE in the same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, the indication in the SCG Failure Information message indicates that besides SCG Failure Information message there is an SHR for the same UE in the same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. In some examples, the common IE or the indication included in both the SHR and the SCG Failure Information message is generated by the UE 230. In some examples, the common IE or the indication included in both the SHR and the SCG Failure Information message may be used for correlation, for example, the target MN 220 identifies that both SHR and SCG Failure Information message are correlated for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0168] Case 2 and Case A, or, Case 3 and Case A:
[0169] In a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, CHO execution / handover may fail, and PAC / CPAC execution is a near-failure success. RLF report is stored and report for the failed CHO execution / handover. SPR is stored and report for the near-failure PAC / CPAC execution. For the case that SPR is triggered due to T310 / T312 related SPR trigger condition is fulfilled, a correlation of the RLF report and the SPR may be determined by the first network node, i.e., the source MN 210 or the target MN 220.
[0170] In some implementations, if Option 1 in FIG. 3 is adopted for SPR, the correlation of the RLF report and the SPR may be determined at the source MN 210. In some examples, the source MN 210 associates the RLF report and the SPR, and performs MRO analysis and optimization for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. In some examples, the source MN 210 identifiers that the RLF report and the SPR are correlated for a same UE (e.g., the UE 230) in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0171] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the RLF report / SPR from the UE 230, forwards the RLF report / SPR to the source MN 210. The receiving node 240 may further transmit an indication concerning the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure to the source MN 210. For example, the indication transmitted by the receiving node 240 is generated by the receiving node 240. For another example, the UE 230 may transmit another indication to the receiving node 240, the another indication indicates that both RLF report and SPR are available for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, and the indication from the receiving node 240 to the source MN 210 is based on the another indication from the UE 230.
[0172] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the RLF report / SPR from the UE 230, transmits both the RLF report and the SPR to the source MN 210 simultaneously via a same message (e.g., a same Xn or NG message) , which implicitly indicates that the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG(s) procedure.
[0173] In some embodiments, a common IE or an indication is included in both the RLF report and the SPR. In some examples, the common IE may be a C-RNTI of a source PCell, a C-RNTI of a source PSCell, a C-RNTI of a target PCell, or a C-RNTI of a target PSCell. In some examples, the indication in the RLF report and SPR is concerning the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, for example, the indication in the RLF report indicates that besides RLF report there is an SPR for the same UE in the same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, the indication in the SPR indicates that besides SPR there is an RLF report for the same UE in the same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. In some examples, the common IE or the indication included in both the RLF report and the SPR is generated by the UE 230. In some examples, the common IE or the indication included in both the RLF report and the SPR may be used for correlation, for example, the source MN 210 identifies that both RLF report and SPR are correlated for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0174] In some implementations, if Option 1 in FIG. 3 is adopted for SPR, the correlation of the RLF report and the SPR may be determined at the target MN 220. In some examples, the target MN 220 associates the RLF report and the SPR, and performs MRO analysis and optimization for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. In some examples, the target MN 220 identifiers that the RLF report and the SPR are correlated for a same UE (e.g., the UE 230) in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0175] In some embodiments, for Case 2 and Case A, the target MN 220 may transmit an inquiry or a subscription to the source MN 210, to inquire about or subscribe for whether there is a CHO execution / handover failure. The source MN 210 may transmit a response to the target MN 220 in response to the inquiry (or the subscription) , or the source MN 210 may transmit a response to the target MN 220 upon there is a CHO execution / handover failure. For example, the response may indicate that a CHO execution / handover failure. Furthermore, for example, the response may be an indication indicating that a CHO execution / handover failure happened, or the response may be the RLF report, that is, the source MN 210 transmits the RLF report to the target MN 220. For example, the target MN 220 identifies that both RLF report and SPR are correlated for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0176] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the RLF report / SPR from the UE 230, may transmit an indication concerning the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure to the source MN 210, and then the source MN 210 forwards the indication concerning the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure to the target MN 220. In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the RLF report / SPR from the UE 230, may transmit an indication concerning the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure to the target MN 220. For one example, the indication transmitted by the receiving node 240 is generated by the receiving node 240. For another example, the UE 230 may transmit another indication to the receiving node 240 which indicates that both RLF report and SPR are available for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, and the indication from the receiving node 240 to the source MN 210 (or to the target MN 220) is based on the another indication from the UE 230.
[0177] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the RLF report / SPR from the UE 230, transmits both the RLF report and the SPR to the source MN 210 simultaneously via a same message (e.g., a same Xn or NG message) , which implicitly indicates that the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG(s) procedure. In addition, the source MN 210 may transmit an indication concerning the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure to the target MN 220; or the source MN 210 may transmit both RLF report and SPR to the target MN 220 simultaneously via a same message (e.g., a same Xn or NG message) which implicitly indicates that the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the RLF report / SPR from the UE 230, transmits both the RLF report and the SPR to the target MN 220 simultaneously via a same message (e.g., a same Xn or NG message) , which implicitly indicates that the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0178] In some embodiments, a common IE or an indication is included in both the RLF report and the SPR. In some examples, the common IE or the indication included in both the RLF report and the SPR may be used for correlation, for example, the target MN 220 identifies that both RLF report and SPR are correlated for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0179] In some implementations, if Option 2 or Option 3 in FIG.
[0180] In some embodiments, the source MN 210 may transmit an inquiry or a subscription to the target MN 220 to inquire about or subscribe for whether there is a sub-optional PAC / CPAC. Then, the source MN 210 identifies that both RLF report and SPR are correlated for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0181] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the RLF report / SPR from the UE 230, may transmit an indication concerning the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure to the source MN 210. For one example, the indication concerning the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure is generated by the receiving node 240. For another example, the UE 230 may transmit another indication to the receiving node 240 indicating that both RLF report and SPR are available for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, and the indication transmitted by the receiving node 240 is based on the another indication from the UE 230.
[0182] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the RLF report / SPR from the UE 230, transmits both the RLF report and the SPR to the source MN 210 simultaneously via a same message (e.g., a same Xn or NG message) , which implicitly indicates that the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG(s) procedure.
[0183] In some embodiments, a common IE or an indication is included in both the RLF report and the SPR.
[0184] In some implementations, if Option 2 or Option 3 in FIG.
[0185] In some embodiments, for Case 2 and Case A, the target MN 220 may transmit an inquiry or a subscription to the source MN 210, to inquire about or subscribe for whether there is a CHO execution / handover failure.
[0186] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the RLF report / SPR from the UE 230, may transmit an indication concerning the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure to the target MN 220. In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the RLF report / SPR from the UE 230, may transmit an indication concerning the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure to the source MN 210, and then the source MN 210 forwards the RLF report / SPR to the target MN 220, or the source MN 210 forwards an indication concerning the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure to the target MN 220. For one example, the indication transmitted by the receiving node 240 is generated by the receiving node 240. For another example, the UE 230 may transmit another indication to the receiving node 240 which indicates that both RLF report and SPR are available for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, and the indication from the receiving node 240 to the target MN 220 (or to the source MN 210) is based on the another indication from the UE 230.
[0187] In some embodiments, the UE 230 may transmit an indication to the target MN 220, where the indication may indicate that both RLF report and SPR are available for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0188] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the RLF report / SPR from the UE 230, transmits both the RLF report and the SPR to the source MN 210 simultaneously via a same message (e.g., a same Xn or NG message) , which implicitly indicates that the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG(s) procedure.
[0189] In some embodiments, the receiving node 240, which receives the RLF report / SPR from the UE 230, transmits both the RLF report and the SPR to the target MN 220 simultaneously via a same message (e.g., a same Xn or NG message) , which implicitly indicates that the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG(s) procedure.
[0190] In some embodiments, the UE 230 transmits both the RLF report and the SPR to the target MN 220 simultaneously via a same message, which implicitly indicates that the RLF report and SPR are for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0191] In some embodiments, a common IE or an indication is included in both the RLF report and the SPR. In some examples, the common IE or the indication included in both the RLF report and the SPR may be used for correlation, for example, the target MN 220 identifies that both RLF report and SPR are correlated for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0192] Case 2 and Case B, or, Case 2 and Case C, or Case 3 and Case B, or, Case 3 and Case C:
[0193] In a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure, there may be a case that CHO execution / handover fails or an RLF occurs shortly after successful CHO execution / handover, and, PAC / CPAC execution fails or an SCG failure occurs shortly after successful PAC / CPAC execution. In such a case, the UE 230 may store both HOF / RLF related information and SCG failure related information in a report, and send the HOF / RLF related information and SCG failure related information in a report / message (e.g., in a third report) . For example, the UE 230 may include the HOF / RLF related information and SCG failure related information in an RLF report. In such a way, network knows the CHO execution / handover failure / RLF and SCG failure are correlated for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG(s) procedure.
[0194] According to embodiments discussed above, the present disclosure provides detailed solutions about how to correlate the failure / near failure in MCG and failure / near failure in SCG for a same UE in a same CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. As such, the correlation can be determined and accordingly the MRO for the UE can be performed.
[0195] As mentioned above, the first report may be provided from the target MN 220 to the source MN 210 (at 411) , FIG. 5A illustrates a signalling chart illustrating a communication process 500 of report provision in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. For example, the first report is the SHR or the RLF report, which may relate to events happened to MN (or MCG) in a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0196] In FIG. 5A, the first report, such as the SHR or the RLF report, may be transmitted from the source MN 210 to the target MN 220 at 511. It is to be noted that since the first report may not an immediate report, for example, the related UE context may be released at the target MN 220 when receiving the first report.
[0197] In some examples, the target MN 220 may transmit Mobility Information to the source MN 210, for example, the Mobility Information may be transmitted via a Handover Request Acknowledge message. In some examples, the source MN 210 may store the Mobility Information, after receiving it from the target MN 220. In some examples, the source MN 210 may transmit the Mobility Information along with the first report to the target MN 220 at 511 over XnAP or NGAP, e.g., via an ACCESS AND MOBILITY INDICATION or via another message.
[0198] In some examples, the target MN 220 may transmit CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration to the source MN 210, for example, the CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration may be transmitted via a Handover Request Acknowledge message. For example, the transmitted CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration may include CPAC related configuration (e.g. CPAC Configuration IE as defined in 3GPP specification TS 38.331 or TS 38.423) , and, CHO related configuration (e.g. CHO Configuration IE as defined in 3GPP specification TS 38.331 or TS 38.423) . In some examples, the source MN 210 may store the CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration, after receiving it from the target MN 220. In some examples, the source MN 210 may transmit the CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration along with the first report to the target MN 220 at 511 over XnAP or NGAP.
[0199] Accordingly, the first report may be provided to the target MN 220 together with Mobility information or CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration, to enable the target MN to identify the first report.
[0200] As mentioned above, the first report may be provided from the source MN 210 to the target MN 220 (at 421) , FIG. 5B illustrates a signalling chart illustrating a communication process 550 of report provision in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. For example, the first report is the SHR or the RLF report, which may relate to events happened to MN (or MCG) in a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0201] In FIG. 5B, the first report, such as the SHR or the RLF report, may be transmitted from the target MN 220 to the source MN 210 at 512. It is to be noted that since the first report may not an immediate report, for example, the related UE context may be released at the source MN 210 when receiving the first report.
[0202] In some examples, the source MN 210 may transmit Mobility Information to the target MN 220, for example, the Mobility Information may be transmitted via a Handover Request message. In some examples, the target MN 220 may store the Mobility Information, after receiving it from the source MN 210. In some examples, the target MN 220 may transmit the Mobility Information along with the first report to the source MN 210 at 512 over XnAP or NGAP, e.g., via an ACCESS AND MOBILITY INDICATION or via another message.
[0203] In some examples, the source MN 210 may transmit CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration to the target MN 220, for example, the CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration may be transmitted via a Handover Request message. In some examples, the target MN 220 may store the CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration, after receiving it from the source MN 210. In some examples, the target MN 220 may transmit the CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration along with the first report to the source MN 210 at 512 over XnAP or NGAP.
[0204] Accordingly, the first report may be provided to the source MN 210 together with Mobility information or CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration, to enable the source MN 210 to identify the first report.
[0205] As mentioned above, the second report may be provided from the source MN 210 to the target MN 220 (at 422) , FIG. 6A illustrates a signalling chart illustrating a communication process 600 of report provision in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. For example, the second report is the SPR which may relate to events happened to SN (or SCG) in a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0206] In FIG. 6A, the second report, such as the SPR, may be transmitted from the source MN 210 to the target MN 220 at 611. It is to be noted that since the SPR may not an immediate report, for example, the related UE context may be released at the target MN 220 when receiving the SPR.
[0207] In some examples, the target MN 220 may transmit SN Mobility Information to the source MN 210, for example, the SN Mobility Information may be transmitted via a Handover Request Acknowledge message. In some examples, the source MN 210 may store the SN Mobility Information, after receiving it from the target MN 220. In some examples, the source MN 210 may transmit the SN Mobility Information along with the SPR to the target MN 220 at 611 over XnAP or NGAP, e.g., via an ACCESS AND MOBILITY INDICATION or via another message.
[0208] In some examples, the target MN 220 may transmit CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration to the source MN 210, for example, the CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration may be transmitted via a Handover Request Acknowledge message. In some examples, the source MN 210 may transmit the CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration along with the SPR to the target MN 220 at 611 over XnAP or NGAP.
[0209] Accordingly, the SPR may be provided to the target MN 220 together with SN Mobility information or CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration, to enable the target MN to identify the SPR.
[0210] As mentioned above, the second report may be provided from the target MN 220 to the source MN 210 (at 412) , FIG. 6B illustrates a signalling chart illustrating a communication process 650 of report provision in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. For example, the second report is the SPR or the SCG Failure Information message, which may relate to events happened to SN (or SCG) in a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.
[0211] In FIG. 6B, the second report, such as the SPR or the SCG Failure Information message may be transmitted from the target MN 220 to the source MN 210 at 612. It is to be noted that since the second report may not an immediate report, for example, the related UE context may be released at the source MN 210 when receiving the second report.
[0212] In some examples, the source MN 210 may transmit SN Mobility Information to the target MN 220, for example, the SN Mobility Information may be transmitted via a Handover Request message. In some examples, the target MN 220 may store the SN Mobility Information, after receiving it from the source MN 210. In some examples, the target MN 220 may transmit the SN Mobility Information along with the second report to the source MN 210 at 612 over XnAP or NGAP, e.g., via an ACCESS AND MOBILITY INDICATION or via another message.
[0213] In some examples, the source MN 210 may transmit CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration to the target MN 220, for example, the CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration may be transmitted via a Handover Request message. In some examples, the target MN 220 may store the CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration, after receiving it from the source MN 210. In some examples, the target MN 220 may transmit the CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration along with the second report to the source MN 210 at 612 over XnAP or NGAP.
[0214] Accordingly, the second report may be provided to the source MN 210 together with SN Mobility information or CHO with candidate SCG (s) related configuration, to enable the source MN 210 to identify the second report.
