Abstract
Description
ULTRASONIC SCANNING APPARATUS, METHOD AND DEVICE, BREAST EXAMINATION SYSTEM, METHOD AND DEVICE, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION
[0002] The present application claims priority of a Chinese patent application No. 202311288724.6, filed on September 28, 2023 in the State Intellectual Property Office of China, the disclosure of which is incorporated by reference herein in its entirety.TECHNICAL FIELD
[0003] The present disclosure relates to the field of breast imaging, and in particular to an ultrasonic scanning apparatus, method and device, a breast examination system, method and device, and a storage medium.BACKGROUND
[0004] Successfully treating and surviving from breast cancer, a type of caner common to women, depends on early diagnosis. Current breast cancer screening relies on mammography, three-dimensional mammography (also known as tomosynthesis) and ultrasound. Although tomosynthesis provides three-dimensional anatomical information of the breast, as with mammography, the breast is sandwiched between two plates. Consequently, the breast is not in a natural state, which is likely to affect the examination accuracy.
[0005] According to some existing ultrasonic scanning imaging, a patient is in a prone position or supine position for ultrasonic scanning. In this way, the patient has to lie down or lie prone and adjust the position even without changing the posture. Consequently, inconvenience will be brought to the patient, and the breast examination accuracy will be affected because the non-fixed breast is likely to change its position. In addition, a position change process is time-consuming, leading to a low examination efficiency.SUMMARY

[0065] An ultrasonic scanning apparatus, method and device, a breast examination system, method and device, and a storage medium provided by the present disclosure are intended to solve the above technical problems in the prior art.
[0066] The technical solutions and the ways to solve the above technical problems through the technical solutions of the present disclosure are described in detail below with reference to specific embodiments.
[0067] With reference to FIG. 1, an ultrasonic scanning apparatus is provided in an embodiment of the present disclosure. The ultrasonic scanning apparatus includes: a scanning chamber 10, a breast film 20, and an ultrasonic scanning assembly 30.
[0068] The scanning chamber 10 includes a housing 110 internally provided with a cavity, where a side surface of the housing 110 is provided with a first opening 111, and the housing 110 is further provided with a first through hole 112 configured to transfer a liquid.
[0069] With reference to FIG. 1, the scanning chamber 10 is in a barrel shape, most of which lies on the side. A diameter of the first opening 111 may be 20 cm. Moreover, the scanning chamber 10 may also be in other shapes and made of a hard material, such as polycarbonate, other hard plastic, a metal material, etc., which is not likely to be broken under a moderate pressure. The scanning chamber 10 is an airtight container. An inner wall of the scanning chamber 10 may be coated with an ultrasonic wave absorbing material, so as to hinder an ultrasonic wave signal from being reflected.
[0070] The breast film 20, a flexible film, is arranged at the first opening 111. The breast film 20 is configured to be attached to a breast and form a scanning cavity 210 with an inner wall of the housing 110.
[0071] Optionally, the breast film 20 is made of a biocompatible and stretchable material such as silicone, rubber, latex or other biocompatible synthetic materials capable of being stretched under a pressure.
[0072] Optionally, a periphery of the first opening 111 is provided with a circular groove. An edge of the breast film 20 may be a rigid edge or a stretchable flexible edge, and edges of the stretchable breast films 20 in different sizes and depths may be tightly mounted in the groove.
[0073] With reference to FIGs. 1 and 2, the ultrasonic scanning assembly 30 includes an ultrasonic transducer array 310 positioned in the scanning cavity 210.
[0074] The ultrasonic scanning assembly 30 is configured to ultrasonically scan the breast through the ultrasonic transducer array 310 under the condition that a liquid enters the scanning cavity 210 through the first through hole 112, and a liquid level of the liquid reaches a first predetermined position when the breast of a target object is tightly attached to the breast film 20, where a height of the first predetermined position is greater than that of a top of the breast film 20. Water serves as a preferred liquid.
[0075] Optionally, the target object is a patient requiring breast examination.
[0076] In the ultrasonic scanning apparatus according to the embodiment of the present disclosure, a side surface of the scanning chamber 10 is provided with the first opening 111. When the patient stands, the first opening 111 of the scanning chamber 10 may face the breast, and the breast may be tightly attached to the breast film 20. When the liquid enters the scanning chamber 10 through the first through hole 112, and the liquid level of the liquid reaches the first predetermined position, the liquid overflows the top of the breast film 20 to cover an entire breast of the patient. Therefore, ultrasound can be transmitted through the liquid, and thus the breast can be ultrasonically scanned through the ultrasonic transducer array 310.
[0077] In the ultrasonic scanning apparatus according to the embodiment of the present disclosure, the breast is attached to the flexible film. Accordingly, the discomfort generated when the breast is sandwiched between two plates and the deformation of the breast in the prior art are avoided, and the examination accuracy is improved. Moreover, in the ultrasonic scanning apparatus according to the embodiment of the present disclosure, the patient can undergo breast scanning when in a standing position. Accordingly, the patient is not required to adjust a position repeatedly when lying down or lying prone, the breast examination accuracy is improved, the breast examination efficiency is also improved, and the ultrasonic scanning apparatus is simpler, more convenient and comfortable, and easier to operate.
[0078] The ultrasonic scanning apparatus according to the embodiment of the present disclosure is a way to conveniently perform three-dimensional multi-modal tomographic ultrasonic imaging on the breast of the patient in a standing posture. That is, only one breast is imaged within a given time, and scanning imaging is convenient.
[0079] In some embodiments, with reference to FIGs. 1 and 2, the ultrasonic scanning assembly 30 further includes a support structure 320 and a connection shaft 330. With reference to FIG. 2, the ultrasonic transducer array 310 is mounted on the support structure 320.
[0080] With reference to FIGs. 1 and 2, the side, opposite to the first opening 111, of the housing 110 is provided with a first communication hole, one end of the connection shaft 330 is fixedly connected to the support structure 320, and the other end thereof penetrates the first communication hole and is movable in an axial direction of the first communication hole or rotatable in the first communication hole.
[0081] In some embodiments, with reference to FIGs. 1 and 2, the connection shaft 330 is internally provided with a second communication hole, and the second communication hole is configured to accommodate a cable electrically connected to the ultrasonic transducer array 310.
[0082] Specifically, the first opening 111 may allow the patient to lean against the opening, place her breast in the first opening 111, and allow the ultrasonic transducer array 310 to move as close to a plane of the first opening 111 as possible, so as to image the entire breast and part of a chest wall.
[0083] Optionally, a rear surface of the housing 110 of the scanning cavity 210 is provided with one first communication hole allowing the connection shaft 330 to penetrate, and the connection shaft 330 is sealed watertight with a “O” -shaped washer.
[0084] Optionally, the connection shaft 330 drives the support structure 320 to move in the axial direction of the first communication hole or rotate in the first communication hole, so as to drive the ultrasonic transducer array 310 to move for movably scanning the breast of the patient comprehensively. The ultrasonic transducer array 310 may also scan the breast comprehensively without moving a position.
[0085] In practice, for multi-modal three-dimensional (3D) ultrasonic imaging, ultrasonic transducers surrounding the breast by a circle, or one or more rows of ultrasonic transducers rotating around the breast are required.
[0086] In some embodiments, the ultrasonic transducer array 310 includes a plurality of ultrasonic transducers arranged in at least one ring, and the ring surrounds a periphery of the breast in a radial plane of the breast. The ultrasonic transducer array 310 is configured to axially displace from the first opening 111 to the first communication hole, so as to scan the breast.
[0087] In the embodiment of the present disclosure, the ultrasonic transducer array 310 annularly arranged axially displaces from the first opening 111 to the first communication hole, so as to scan the breast.
[0088] Specifically, the breast is characterized by a sphere, and a central axis of the breast is characterized by an axis between a north pole and a south pole of the sphere.
[0089] Optionally, the ultrasonic transducers may be annularly arranged, a diameter of which is slightly greater than that of the first opening 111 that the breast enters. The support structure 320 may be a plurality of mechanical connection arms, the ultrasonic transducers annularly arranged may be mounted on all the mechanical connection arms, and the other ends of all the mechanical connection arms are fixed to the connection shaft 330. Scanning may be implemented by driving the connection shaft 330 to displace the ultrasonic transducer array 310 from the first opening 111 to the first communication hole, or from the first communication hole to the first opening. All the mechanical connection arms also serve as physical supports for the ultrasonic transducers annularly arranged and cable guide pipes. All the cable guide pipes are converged to the second communication hole inside the connection shaft 330. Cables may penetrate the second communication hole inside the connection shaft 330 to the outside of the scanning cavity 210 after being sealed appropriately.
[0090] As an embodiment, with reference to FIG. 2, the ultrasonic transducer array 310 includes ultrasonic transducers arranged in at least two rows, and each row of the ultrasonic transducers surround the periphery of the breast at different longitudes. The ultrasonic transducer array 310 is configured to scan the breast by rotating at least two rows of ultrasonic transducers.
[0091] In some embodiments, with reference to FIG. 2, every two rows of ultrasonic transducers are arranged symmetrically with respect to the central axis of the breast as an ultrasonic transducer pair.
[0092] Optionally, the ultrasonic transducers are arranged in at least two rows in a front-to-back direction of the scanning cavity 210 as shown in FIG. 2. The breast is scanned by rotating linear ultrasonic transducer array pairs. Two rows of ultrasonic transducers are placed on opposite sides of the breast to be imaged to form one ultrasonic transducer pair. A plurality of ultrasonic transducer pairs may be used to increase a scanning speed. Accordingly, a higher resolution is realized, and a low imaging resolution for a high-density breast is solved. The plurality of rows of ultrasonic transducers may be mounted on all the mechanical connection arms. All the mechanical connection arms serve as physical supports for the plurality of rows of ultrasonic transducers and cable guide pipes. During imaging, each row of the ultrasonic transducers are driven by a control unit 60 to rotate around the periphery of the breast through the stretchable breast film 20. The connection shaft 330 is sealed watertight with the “O” -shaped washer, allowing an electric motor and a gearbox to operate outside the scanning cavity 210.
[0093] In some embodiments, with reference to FIGs. 1 and 2, the ultrasonic scanning assembly 30 further includes a driving mechanism 100. The driving mechanism 100 is positioned outside the scanning chamber 10, and the driving mechanism 100 is fixedly connected to the end, penetrating the first communication hole, of the connection shaft 330 and configured to drive the connection shaft 330 to move in the axial direction of the first communication hole or rotate in the first communication hole.
[0094] Optionally, the driving mechanism 100 may translate outside the scanning chamber 10 in a conventional linear motion manner (such as through a linear drive or a ball screw) .
[0095] With reference to FIGs. 1 and 2, the ultrasonic scanning assembly 30 includes the ultrasonic transducer array 310 positioned inside the scanning cavity 210, the support structure 320 (for example, a mechanical support) configured to fix the ultrasonic transducer array 310, and the connection shaft 330 connected to the support structure 320 and penetrating the housing 110. The driving mechanism 100 is arranged outside the scanning cavity 210. According to the support structure 320 and the connection shaft 330, a mechanical driving mechanism 100 outside the scanning cavity 210 may displace or rotate the ultrasonic transducer array 310 inside the scanning cavity 210, and lead out the cables connected to the ultrasonic transducer array 310 from the second communication hole of the connection shaft 330 simultaneously. When the liquid (water) enters the scanning cavity 210 through the first through hole 112, and the liquid level reaches the first predetermined position, a valve connected to a water path of the first through hole 112 is closed. A vacuum pump continues extracting air to make a negative pressure of the scanning cavity 210 reach a first preset air pressure. In this case, the mechanical driving mechanism 100 outside the scanning cavity 210 moves or rotates the ultrasonic transducer array 310, so as to ultrasonically scan the breast.
[0096] In some embodiments, with reference to FIGs. 1 and 3, the housing 110 is annularly provided with a gasket 220, and the gasket 220 surrounds the periphery of the first opening 111.
[0097] Specifically, the gasket 220 is configured to be attached to the chest wall of the patient and make the patient comfortable, and may be an inflatable plastic pipe or a sealed foam material. The gasket 220 may be attached to a chest wall around a bottom of the breast, thereby forming airtight sealing, and may form a vacuum suction force applied to the water in the scanning cavity 210 when the air is extracted from the scanning cavity 210. Through the vacuum suction force, breast tissue is drawn into the scanning cavity to a maximum extent on the premise of ensuring comfort of the patient. By balancing the vacuum suction force against a stretching force of the breast film 20, the breast of the patient is located, so as to maintain a position and shape of the breast during scanning.
[0098] When a woman places one of her two breasts in the breast film 20 and leans against the scanning cavity 210, the gasket 220 provides greater comfort for the woman. When the patient leans against the first opening 111 of the scanning cavity 210 and places the breast in the breast film 20, airtight coupling is formed between a surface of the gasket 220 and a breast surface of the patient. In addition, the gasket 220 may also be a part of the breast film 20 instead of being separately connected to the periphery of the first opening 111.
[0099] Optionally, with reference to FIG. 3, the housing 110 is annularly provided with a clamping groove around the first opening 111, the gasket 220 is annularly provided with a clamping strip matching the clamping groove, and the clamping strip is clamped into the clamping groove, so that the gasket 220 is mounted around the first opening 111.
[0100] In some embodiments, with reference to FIGs. 1 and 2, the breast film 20 is in a cup shape and is recessed in a direction close to the scanning cavity 210. The breast film 20 is provided with at least one gap, the gap is closed when an air pressure in the scanning cavity 210 is an atmospheric pressure, the gap is opened after an air pressure in the scanning cavity 210 is reduced to a third preset air pressure, and the third preset air pressure is lower than the atmospheric pressure.
[0101] The third preset air pressure is lower than the atmospheric pressure, which indicates that the third preset air pressure belongs to negative pressures. The gap is opened only when the negative pressure in the scanning cavity 210 reaches a certain value (the third preset air pressure in the embodiment of the present disclosure) . That is, the gap is opened only when the negative pressure in the scanning cavity 210 is sufficiently high. The gap is primarily to suck all residual air between the breast film 20 and the breast before scanning. Therefore, the flexible breast film 20 deforms along with the breast and is attached to the breast, so as to ensure that there is no gap between the breast film 20 and the breast. Accordingly, the situation that the ultrasound attenuates when being transmitted in air between the breast film 20 and the breast can be avoided. Moreover, the scanning cavity 210 maintains the negative pressure, so that the breast can be tightly attached to the breast film 20. Therefore, the breast is basically completely positioned in the housing 110 of the scanning chamber 10 and is stably located at a predetermined position for matching the ultrasonic scanning assembly 30, which is beneficial to improvement of the ultrasonic scanning accuracy, reliability and stability.
[0102] Optionally, after the air pressure in the scanning cavity 210 is reduced to the third preset air pressure belonging to the negative pressures, the air pressure control member 40 continues extracting air from the scanning cavity 210, so as to control the air pressure in the scanning cavity 210 to reach (continuing being reduced to) the first preset air pressure. Optionally, the third preset air pressure may also be the same as the first preset air pressure.
[0103] Optionally, the breast film 20 is shaped like a soft dome cup, similar to a mold cup. With reference to FIG. 3, the breast film 20 may be made in different sizes. The edge of the breast film 20 is an annular edge that is pressed into the groove at the first opening.
[0104] Specifically, the breast film 20 is provided with a plurality of gaps, which are air leakage holes. Therefore, any air between the breast film 20 and the breast to be imaged may be sucked into the scanning cavity 210 when a substantial negative pressure is applied. These gaps are generally closed and invisible when the breast film 20 is not under the substantial negative pressure. The gap allows the flow of the air or liquid to be unidirectional, i.e. only from the surface of the breast to the scanning cavity.
[0105] In some embodiments, with reference to FIG. 4, the ultrasonic scanning apparatus further includes an air pressure control member 40.
[0106] The housing 110 is further provided with a first air hole 113, and a height of the first air hole 113 is greater than that of the first predetermined position.
[0107] The air pressure control member 40 is connected to the first air hole 113 and configured to suck the liquid into the scanning cavity 210 and extract the air from the scanning cavity 210 when the liquid level of the liquid reaches the first predetermined position, so that the air pressure in the scanning cavity 210 reaches the first preset air pressure.
[0108] Optionally, the air pressure control member 40 is a vacuum pump, and the air in the scanning cavity 210 is extracted by the vacuum pump, so that the first preset air pressure is formed in the scanning cavity 210. The first preset air pressure is a negative pressure, and the breast tissue of the target object can be sucked into the scanning cavity 210 to the maximum extent through the first preset air pressure. That is, the breast film 20 is recessed in a direction close to the scanning cavity 210. Therefore, the breast tissue of the target object may enter the first opening 111 as much as possible, so as to be sucked into the scanning chamber 10 to a maximum extent. The first preset air pressure is set such that the breast tissue of the target object is sucked into the scanning cavity 210 to the maximum extent without affecting the comfort of the target object. The preset air pressure is -150 mmHg or so, which is much lower than the atmospheric pressure.
[0109] At present, since the breast tissue of the woman extends laterally to a position below the armpit generally, the women in a prone position is required to roll her body slightly in order to ensure that entire breast tissue and part of the chest wall are imaged. However, it is also difficult to control the degree of rolling when the woman is in the prone position.
[0110] In the embodiment of the present disclosure, the patient may place the breasts in the disposable, soft, and stretchable breast films 20 when in the standing posture, so that the two breasts are imaged individually at a time. The breast film 20 is tightly coupled to the scanning cavity 210. The patient leans against the scanning cavity 210, and tight sealing is formed between a chest wall of the patient and the first opening 111, allowing a negative pressure to be applied and the breast tissue to be drawn into the scanning chamber 10 for ultrasonic scanning. By balancing the stretching force of the breast film 20 against the tensile force of the negative pressure, the breast is fixed during scanning, so that the examination accuracy is improved.
[0111] In some embodiments, with reference to FIG. 4, the ultrasonic scanning apparatus further includes a liquid supply unit 50. The liquid supply unit 50 includes a liquid storage device 510, a first communication pipe 520, and a control valve 540; where two ends of the first communication pipe 520 are connected to the liquid storage device 510 and the first through hole 112 respectively, and the control valve 540 is arranged on the first communication pipe 520 and configured to control connection or disconnection between the liquid storage device 510 and the first through hole 112.
[0112] Optionally, the control valve 540 is configured to control connection or disconnection between the liquid storage device 510 and the first through hole 112. Accordingly, when the liquid level of the liquid reaches the first predetermined position in a later stage, the control valve 540 may be closed to maintain the negative pressure in the scanning cavity 210.
[0113] In some embodiments, with reference to FIGs. 4 and 5, the ultrasonic scanning apparatus further includes a control unit 60. The control unit 60 is electrically connected to the air pressure control member 40 and the control valve 540. The control unit 60 is configured to control the control valve 540 to be opened, so that the liquid storage device 510 is connected to the first through hole 112, control liquid in the liquid storage device 510 to enter the scanning cavity 210, close the control valve 540 when the liquid level of the liquid reaches the first predetermined position, so that the liquid storage device 510 is disconnected from the first through hole 112, and then control the air pressure in the scanning cavity 210 to reach the first preset air pressure through the air pressure control member 40.
[0114] In some embodiments, with reference to FIGs. 4 and 5, the control unit 60 is further configured to control the air pressure control member 40 to extract the air from the scanning cavity 210 until an air pressure in the scanning cavity 210 reaches a second preset air pressure, so that the liquid is sucked into the scanning cavity 210.
[0115] Specifically, the second preset air pressure is configured such that the liquid is sucked into the scanning cavity 210. The air pressure control member 40 firstly extracts the air from the scanning cavity 210 until the air pressure in the scanning cavity 210 reaches the second preset air pressure, so that the liquid is sucked into the scanning cavity 210. After the liquid level of the liquid reaches the first predetermined position, the control unit closes the control valve 540, so that the liquid storage device 510 is disconnected from the first through hole 112, continues extracting the air from the scanning cavity 210, and controls the air pressure in the scanning cavity 210 to reach the first preset air pressure. Optionally, the first preset air pressure, the second preset air pressure, and the atmospheric pressure are ranked from low to high.
[0116] Optionally, the air pressure control member 40 may provide the negative pressure for the scanning cavity 210. The control unit 60 opens the control valve 540, so that the liquid storage device 510 is connected to the first through hole 112. The air pressure control member 40 starts to extract the air, and the water in the liquid storage device 510 is sucked into the scanning cavity 210. When the liquid level of the liquid reaches the first predetermined position, the control valve 540 will be closed, so that the liquid storage device 510 is disconnected from the first through hole 112. The air pressure control member 40 continues extracting air from the scanning cavity 210 until a target negative pressure on the breast film 20, -150 mmHg or so, is reached. In this case, a pressure of an air space on a top of the scanning cavity 210 is higher than a horizontal pressure of the breast. Scanning will not be started until the scanning cavity 210 reaches a preset negative pressure.
[0117] Optionally, the control unit 60 is further configured to control a driving mechanism 100 to drive the ultrasonic scanning assembly 30 to movably scan the breast comprehensively through the ultrasonic transducer array 310 when the air pressure in the scanning cavity 210 reaches the first preset air pressure.
[0118] Specifically, the driving mechanism 100 drives the connection shaft 330 to move in the axial direction of the first communication hole or rotate in the first communication hole, so that the ultrasonic transducer array 310 movably scans the breast comprehensively. For example, during imaging, the control unit 60 activates the driving mechanism 100 to perform linear motion, so as to slowly and controllably pull the connection shaft 330 outwards. Therefore, the ultrasonic transducer array 310 moves rearwards from a foremost position of the first opening 111. An anterior position is close to the chest wall of the patient and a posterior position is towards the breast.
[0119] In some embodiments, with reference to FIG. 4, the ultrasonic scanning apparatus further includes a first sensor 70, where the first sensor 70 is arranged on the inner wall of the housing 110, and a height of the first sensor 70 is not lower than that of the top of the breast film 20.
[0120] The control unit 60 is electrically connected to the first sensor 70, and the control unit 60 is configured to determine a liquid level position of the liquid based on first liquid level information output by the first sensor 70.
[0121] Optionally, the first sensor 70 is a water level sensor, and may measure the liquid level position. When the first sensor 70 measures that the liquid level reaches the first predetermined position, the first liquid level information is sent to the control unit 60, so that the control unit 60 controls the control valve 540 to be closed.
[0122] Optionally, with reference to FIG. 4, the ultrasonic scanning apparatus further includes a second sensor 80, where the second sensor 80 is arranged on the inner wall of the housing 110, and the second sensor 80 is positioned at a bottom of the housing 110.
[0123] The control unit 60 is electrically connected to the second sensor 80, and the control unit 60 is configured to determine that the liquid in the scanning cavity 210 has flowed out based on second liquid level information output by the second sensor 80, where the second liquid level information is sent out when the second sensor 80 measures that the liquid level in the scanning cavity 210 is zero.
[0124] In some embodiments, with reference to FIG. 4, the liquid storage device 510 includes a first liquid storage unit 511, a second liquid storage unit 512, and a filtering unit 513. The liquid supply unit 50 further includes a second communication pipe 530 and a water pump 531. The housing 110 is further provided with a second through hole 114.
[0125] The first liquid storage unit 511 is connected to the first through hole 112 through the first communication pipe 520. The second liquid storage unit 512 is connected to the second through hole 114 through the second communication pipe 530. The filtering unit 513 is arranged between the first liquid storage unit 511 and the second liquid storage unit 512, and the filtering unit 513 is configured to filter liquid in the second liquid storage unit 512 and then enable the filtered liquid to flow into the first liquid storage unit 511.
[0126] Specifically, the filtering unit 513 may filter the water in the scanning cavity 210 and then enable filtered water to flow back to the first liquid storage unit 511 for recycling.
[0127] Optionally, with reference to FIG. 4, the first liquid storage unit 511 and the second liquid storage unit 512 are stacked, and the second liquid storage unit 512 is positioned above the first liquid storage unit 511. The water pump 531 is arranged in the second liquid storage unit 512. The control unit 60 is electrically connected to the water pump 531, and the control unit 60 is configured to turn on the water pump 531 to extract the liquid in the scanning cavity 210 back into the second liquid storage unit 512 when it is determined that the breast has been scanned in the scanning cavity and the liquid in the scanning cavity 210 is required to be emptied.
[0128] In the embodiment of the present disclosure, the water pump 531 is configured to extract the water back into the second liquid storage unit 512, so that the water can return to the second liquid storage unit 512 more rapidly. The filtered water is separated from unfiltered water through the filtering unit 513, so that the water can be recycled and a maintenance cost can be reduced.
[0129] In some embodiments, with reference to FIG. 4, the liquid storage device 510 further includes a temperature control unit 514, where the temperature control unit 514 is arranged in the first liquid storage unit 511 and configured to control the liquid in the first liquid storage unit 511 to be maintained at a preset temperature.
[0130] Specifically, the temperature control unit 514 may maintain the liquid at the preset temperature. Accordingly, the situation that the temperature of the liquid is too low, so that the temperature of the liquid in the scanning cavity 210 is too low, which causes the patient to feel uncomfortable during examination and reduces the experience feeling is avoided.
[0131] The ultrasonic scanning apparatus according to the embodiment of the present disclosure is a liquid supply unit 50 having filtering and heating functions.
[0132] After scanning, the liquid is maintained at the negative pressure in the scanning cavity 210 until the liquid triggers the second sensor 80 at a bottom while flowing back to the second liquid storage unit 512 naturally or being pumped back to the second liquid storage unit 512 through the water pump 531.
[0133] In some embodiments, with reference to FIG. 5, the ultrasonic scanning apparatus further includes a support assembly 90. The scanning chamber 10 is arranged on the support assembly 90, and a height of the support assembly 90 is adjustable.
[0134] Specifically, the scanning chamber 10 is supported by the support assembly 90 that may raise or lower a height of the scanning chamber 10 as required to adapt to women having different heights.
[0135] Optionally, the support assembly 90 is power-driven, allowing the scanning chamber 10 to be raised or lowered by pressing a button.
[0136] In some embodiments, the scanning chamber 10 is rotatably connected to the support assembly 90, so as to adjust an included angle between a central axis of the scanning chamber 10 and a horizontal line.
[0137] Optionally, the first opening 111 of the scanning chamber 10 is inclined slightly upwards, and the plane of the first opening 111 is at 75 degrees or so relative to the ground, so that the patient can place her breast in the first opening 111 more easily and lean against the first opening during imaging.
[0138] Optionally, the scanning chamber 10 may also be rotated slightly, allowing the first opening 111 to be inclined more or less upwards, so as to adapt to different patients.
[0139] With reference to FIG. 6, a scene in which the patient is imaged in the standing posture while leaning against the scanning chamber is shown. With reference to FIGs. 4-6, in practical application, a process of ultrasonically scanning the breast is as follows:
[0140] A thin ultrasonic coupling gel layer is spread onto a skin of the breast, and in this case, no water exists in a scanning cavity 210. A breast film 20 suitable for a size of the breast to be imaged is selected and mounted at a first opening 111. A height of a scanning chamber 10 is adjusted according to a height of the breast of a patient. A torso of the patient is inclined correctly to place all breast tissue in the scanning chamber 10 to a maximum extent. The patient then places the breast in the breast film 20 and tilts forwards against the scanning chamber 10. Therefore, airtight sealing is formed between a gasket 220 on a periphery of the first opening 111 of the scanning chamber 10 and a skin surface on a periphery of the breast of the patient.
[0141] After the patient places the breast in the breast film 20, an operator starts an ultrasonic imaging process at a control interface of a control unit 60 through a user input (for example, a button on a control interface screen or a physical initiation button) . Once initiated, a vacuum pump runs to extract air from the scanning chamber 10, a control valve 540 is opened to allow water to be sucked into the scanning chamber 10 from a first liquid storage unit 511, and the vacuum pump continues pumping air out of the scanning chamber 10 simultaneously. When the water rises to a first sensor 70 near a top of the scanning chamber 10, the control unit 60 closes the control valve 540, and the vacuum pump continues running until a first preset air pressure is reached and then automatically maintains the first preset air pressure.
[0142] Under the first preset air pressure, the breast tissue is drawn into the scanning chamber 10.Through a gap on a wall of the breast film 20, no air exists between the breast skin and the breast film 20, so that perfect ultrasonic scanning is realized. In this case, a tensile force of the first preset air pressure and a stretching action of the breast film 20 are balanced in the scanning chamber 10, so as to reliably fix the breast. The buoyancy of the water may also prevent the breast from falling under gravity, so that all breast tissue may be imaged, and the breast is easier to scan and examine comprehensively.
[0143] When the scanning chamber 10 reaches the first preset air pressure, the control unit 60 initiates a scanning procedure. After scanning is completed, the control unit 60 maintains a negative pressure in the scanning chamber 10 while controlling a water pump 531 to extract the water from the scanning chamber 10 back to a second liquid storage unit 512.
[0144] In this case, the vacuum pump serves as a controllable relief valve to prevent the negative pressure in the scanning chamber 10 from dropping to an ambient pressure. In this way, the water in the scanning chamber 10 does not apply a pressure to the breast. The second sensor 80 instructs the patient to move the breast out of the scanning chamber 10 after detecting that the scanning chamber 10 is empty. The ultrasonic scanning apparatus is ready to image another breast or a breast of another patient.
[0145] Based on the above technical solution, the ultrasonic scanning apparatus according to the embodiment of the present disclosure is configured to perform automatic multi-modal tomographic ultrasonic imaging on the breast of the patient basically in a standing posture. In order to image the breast to be imaged in a more natural three-dimensional shape, the breast imaged is uniformly spread with one thin coupling gel layer and placed in the breast film 20, so as to be tightly attached to a first opening 111 of the airtight scanning chamber 10. An ultrasonic scanning assembly 30 in the airtight and rigid scanning chamber 10 may realize three-dimensional (3D) scanning of the breast. During imaging, the scanning chamber 10 is filled with water, which is sucked from a first liquid storage unit 511 through a first through hole 112. A negative pressure is applied to the water between the breast film 20 and a housing 110. The negative pressure assists in drawing the breast tissue into an imaging space, so that the breast film 20 may maintain and fix the breast in a more natural three-dimensional shape.
[0146] Under the condition of maintaining the first preset air pressure, the control unit 60 initiates the scanning procedure by instructing a driving mechanism 100 to move an ultrasonic transducer array 310 and subsequently instructs a data acquisition unit 300 to determine transmission, reflection, and propagation times according to ultrasonic signal emitting and receiving by the ultrasonic transducer array 310. After scanning is completed, the water is reextracted back to the second liquid storage unit 512 and maintained at the negative pressure. After the scanning chamber 10 is emptied, the negative pressure is closed. The patient removes the breast out of the breast film 20.
[0147] In the ultrasonic scanning apparatus according to the embodiment of the present disclosure, the negative pressure is generated through the scanning chamber 10 having a water inlet hole and an air outlet hole, the stretchable breast film 20, and an air pressure control member 40.The patient can have the breast imaged when in the standing posture and place all the breast tissue in the imaging space by rotating the body by a correct angle. Compared to a conventional prone setting, the ultrasonic scanning apparatus according to the embodiment of the present disclosure is easier and more comfortable for the patient. Therefore, more breast tissue can be imaged in the imaging space while an imaging process is accelerated.
[0148] Based on the same inventive concept, with reference to FIGs. 7 and 8, a breast examination system is provided in an embodiment of the present disclosure. The breast examination system includes at least one biopsy port 200 configured for a biopsy needle 230 to enter or exit and the ultrasonic scanning apparatus according to the embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0149] With reference to FIG. 7, a housing 110 is provided with at least one third through hole 115, and each biopsy port 200 is correspondingly mounted at one third through hole 115.
[0150] In some embodiments, with reference to FIG. 7, the biopsy port 200 is detachably connected to the third through hole 115 and is airtight.
[0151] Optionally, the biopsy port 200 is a screw-in plug and includes a connection portion and an outer edge portion, where the connection portion is internally provided with a through hole, an outer surface of the connection portion is provided with a threaded section, and the outer edge portion extends outwards in a radial direction of the connection portion. The connection portion includes a first section and a second section, where an outer surface of the first section is a threaded section, a cross section of the second section is a slope, and two ends of the second section are connected to one end of the first section and one end of the outer edge portion respectively. The side, where the first section is away from the housing 110, of the second section is provided with a flared opening.
[0152] Optionally, with reference to FIG. 7, a washer 202 is provided between the biopsy port 200 and housing 110. The washer 202 is an “O” -shaped ring sealing member. Specifically, the washer 202 is provided between the outer edge portion and the housing 110.
[0153] In some embodiments, with reference to FIG. 8, a schematic diagram of an ultrasonic scanning apparatus having the biopsy port 200 and the biopsy needle 230 inserted into the biopsy port 200 is shown. The third through hole 115 is positioned above and on two sides of a central axis of the housing 110.
[0154] In some embodiments, with reference to FIG. 7, the biopsy port 200 is filled with rubber filler 201, so as to be repeatedly punctured by the biopsy needle 230 without air leakage. The rubber filler 201 is a disc-shaped rubber pad.
[0155] In practical application, when the biopsy needle 230 is retracted, the biopsy needle 230 may puncture the soft rubber filler 201 without breaking a vacuum. When the single biopsy port 200 is repeatedly punctured, the water tightness of the biopsy port 200 is weakened. In the breast examination system according to the embodiment of the present disclosure, a plug is replaced by replacing the biopsy port 200 only, instead of replacing the scanning cavity 210.
[0156] In the embodiment of the present disclosure, the housing 110 is provided with a plurality of biopsy ports 200, and these biopsy ports 200 are points through which the biopsy needle 230 may penetrate without breaking the vacuum. The rubber filler 201 may be implemented by injecting and filling a through hole in the biopsy port 200 with a soft biocompatible plastic material. However, repeated insertion of the biopsy needle 230 may cause air leakage of the biopsy port 200. Therefore, in the embodiment of the present disclosure, the biopsy port 200 is detachable and replaceable.
[0157] In some embodiments, with reference to FIG. 5, the breast examination system further includes a data acquisition unit 300, where the data acquisition unit 300 is electrically connected to an ultrasonic transducer array 310 and configured to acquire a reflected signal, a transmitted signal, and a propagation time from the ultrasonic transducer array 310. The transmitted signal is a signal received by an opposite ultrasonic transducer after an ultrasonic signal emitted by the ultrasonic transducer array 310 is transmitted through the breast; the reflected signal is a signal reflected by breast tissue at different depths and received by the ultrasonic transducer array 310 after the ultrasonic transducer array emits the ultrasonic signal; and the propagation time indicates a time difference between a time for emitting the transmitted signal and a time for receiving the transmitted signal.
[0158] Specifically, the transmitted signal is the ultrasonic signal emitted by the transducer in the ultrasonic transducer array 310 and received by the transducer opposite to the breast. The reflected signal is the ultrasonic signal emitted by the transducer in the ultrasonic transducer array 310, reflected by breast tissue at different depths of the breast, and then received by the transducer emitting the ultrasonic signal. The propagation time is the time difference between the time for the transducer on one side of the breast to emit the ultrasonic signal and the time for the transducer opposite to the breast to receive the transmitted signal.
[0159] In some embodiments, with reference to FIG. 5, the breast examination system further includes a processing unit 400, where the processing unit 400 is electrically connected to the data acquisition unit 300 and configured to determine a three-dimensional reflection image, a three-dimensional transmission image, and a three-dimensional sound velocity image through a predetermined image reconstruction algorithm according to the reflected signal, the transmitted signal, and the propagation time of the ultrasonic transducer array 310 respectively. Unlike conventional ultrasonic images, a multi-modal ultrasonic tomography may obtain three three-dimensional images through scanning at a time, and each three-dimensional image reflects different physical and biological features of the breast, so as to obtain more information.
[0160] The image reconstruction algorithm running in the processing unit 400 is to construct the three three-dimensional images according to three different signals, including the three-dimensional reflection image, the three-dimensional transmission image, and the three-dimensional sound velocity image. There are mature image reconstruction algorithms for computing these three-dimensional images, including a back projection algorithm, a numerical iteration algorithm, etc.
[0161] The processing unit 400 executes image reconstruction software and calculates tomographic pixel values according to data acquired in different modes including the reflected signal, the transmitted signal, and the propagation time. After being constructed, the images are displayed on a display unit 500 and saved under personal information of the patient. Moreover, in the embodiment of the present disclosure, the images may be locally analyzed through artificial intelligence software, input into other computer software for automatic diagnosis or screening, or sent to healthcare providers or other interested parties or systems in international standard formats through generally-accepted communication protocols.
[0162] The processing unit 400 may be a central processing unit (CPU) , a general-purpose processor, a digital signal processor (DSP) , an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) , a field programmable gate array (FPGA) , or other programmable logic devices, transistor logic devices, hardware components, or any combination thereof. The processing unit may implement or execute various illustrative logical blocks, modules, and circuits described in connection with contents disclosed in the present disclosure. The processing unit 400 may also be a combination realizing a computation function, for example, a combination encompassing one or more microprocessors, a combination of a DSP and a microprocessor, etc.
[0163] In some embodiments, the processing unit 400 is further configured to determine a biopsy region according to the three-dimensional reflection image, the three-dimensional transmission image, and the three-dimensional sound velocity image of the breast, and determine the biopsy port 200 according to the biopsy region.
[0164] In the embodiment of the present disclosure, at least one biopsy port 200 is provided. An appropriate biopsy port 200 may be correspondingly selected for insertion according to a position of the biopsy region, so as to facilitate a biopsy operation and improve a biopsy efficiency.
[0165] In some embodiments, with reference to FIG. 5, the breast examination system further includes a display unit 500, where the display unit 500 is electrically connected to the processing unit 400, and the display unit 500 is configured to acquire a real-time three-dimensional scanned image of the breast and display same when the biopsy needle 230 is inserted into the biopsy port 200 and moves towards the biopsy region, where the real-time three-dimensional scanned image includes the three-dimensional reflection image, the three-dimensional transmission image, and the three-dimensional sound velocity image.
[0166] Optionally, the ultrasonic transducer array 310 includes a plurality of ultrasonic transducers arranged in at least one ring. Scanning imaging and a needle biopsy through the biopsy needle 230 may be performed in the same time period. The examination by the ultrasonic transducer array 310 and the needle biopsy of the biopsy needle 230 may also not be performed in the same time period. For example, the ultrasonic transducer array 310 includes ultrasonic transducers arranged in at least two rows.
[0167] In the embodiment of the present disclosure, the three-dimensional scanned image of the breast is reconstructed. If the operator or a computer (through deep artificial intelligence learning) notices suspicious abnormalities, the biopsy region is determined, and the system prompts a user to perform a biopsy from the biopsy port 200 selected. The biopsy port 200 is selected based on two factors: 1. a most convenient and shortest path passing through the breast tissue; and 2. an orientation without interfering with imaging, i.e., allowing the ultrasonic transducer to continue imaging a suspicious region when the biopsy needle 230 is inserted, so that the breast examination system may verify whether correct tissue is being collected in real time.
[0168] In the embodiment of the present disclosure, the processing unit 400 may determine a longitudinal direction and a latitude of the biopsy region, and insert the biopsy needle 230 into a region having a specified longitude and latitude through the biopsy port 200 selected. The operator may align the biopsy needle 230 with the suspicious region in the breast for sampling or use the biopsy needle 230 for automatic sampling. When the biopsy needle 230 is inserted, the display unit 500 displays the real-time three-dimensional scanned image. Therefore, the operator can see that the biopsy needle 230 is inserted into the biopsy region or adjust the position of the biopsy needle 230 and then insert the biopsy needle 230 into the biopsy region. Therefore, the breast examination system according to the embodiment of the present disclosure can perform the biopsy on the suspicious region in the breast under the guidance of the ultrasonic images.
[0169] Based on the same inventive concept, an ultrasonic scanning method is further provided in an embodiment of the present disclosure. The ultrasonic scanning method is applied to the ultrasonic scanning apparatus according to the embodiment of the present disclosure. With reference to FIG. 9, the ultrasonic scanning method includes:
[0170] S901, a liquid is controlled to enter a scanning cavity 210 through a first through hole 112 when a breast of a target object is tightly attached to a breast film 20.
[0171] S902, an air pressure control member 40 of the ultrasonic scanning apparatus extracts air from the scanning cavity 210 when a liquid level of the liquid reaches a first predetermined position, so that an air pressure in the scanning cavity 210 reaches a first preset air pressure, and an ultrasonic transducer array 310 is controlled to ultrasonically scan the breast.
[0172] Specifically, the first preset air pressure is configured to suck breast tissue of the target object into the scanning cavity 210 to a maximum extent. That is, the breast film 20 is recessed in a direction close to the scanning cavity 210. Therefore, the breast tissue of the target object may enter a first opening 111 as much as possible, so as to be sucked into a scanning chamber 10 to a maximum extent. The first preset air pressure is set such that the breast tissue of the target object is sucked into the scanning cavity 210 to the maximum extent without affecting the comfort of the target object. In the ultrasonic scanning method according to the embodiment of the present disclosure, by balancing a vacuum suction force against a stretching force of the breast film 20, the breast of the patient is located, so as to maintain a position and shape of the breast during scanning.
[0173] The ultrasonic scanning method according to the embodiment of the present disclosure is applied to the ultrasonic scanning apparatus according to the embodiment of the present disclosure. The breast is attached to the flexible film. Accordingly, the discomfort generated when the breast is sandwiched between two plates and the deformation of the breast in the prior art are avoided, and the examination accuracy is improved. Moreover, in the ultrasonic scanning method according to the embodiment of the present disclosure, the patient can undergo breast scanning when in a standing position. Accordingly, the patient is not required to adjust a position repeatedly when lying down or lying prone, the breast examination accuracy is improved, the breast examination efficiency is also improved, and the ultrasonic scanning method is simpler, more convenient and comfortable, and easier to operate.
[0174] The ultrasonic scanning method according to the embodiment of the present disclosure is a way to conveniently perform three-dimensional multi-modal tomographic ultrasonic imaging on the breast of the patient in a standing posture. That is, only one breast is imaged within a given time, and scanning imaging is convenient.
[0175] In the ultrasonic scanning method according to the embodiment of the present disclosure, the patient can place the breasts in the disposable, soft, and stretchable breast films 20 when in the standing posture, so that the two breasts are imaged individually at a time. The breast film 20 is tightly coupled to a scanning cavity 210.
