[0002] High-voltage contact with stepless axial height adjustment and radial length adjustment

[0003] The present invention relates to a contacting device for contacting a switching device within a manufacturing container for manufacturing the switching device and to a manufacturing device for forming or testing a switching device.

[0004] In the prior art, switching devices are known, for example, in the form of vacuum interrupters. A typical vacuum interrupter comprises a fixed contact pin at one end and a movable contact pin at the opposite end. Within the switching device, the two contact pins each have a contact disc that is located opposite one another. By moving the movable contact pin, different distances between the two contact discs can be set in order to provide different switching positions for the switching device.

[0005] In order to achieve a high dielectric strength of such a switching device, the switching device is typically subjected to a forming process after it has been assembled. To do this, a worker first positions the switching device inside a closed container. During the forming process, a high voltage is applied to the contact disks in different switching positions. The applied high voltage is used to specifically generate flashovers whose arcs melt or evaporate defects and micro-peaks on the surfaces of the contact disks. In this way, the quality of the surfaces is gradually improved until the desired dielectric strength of the switching device is achieved. Furthermore, such switching devices can be tested for their current dielectric strength inside a closed test container by applying a high voltage.

[0006] During the forming or testing of the switching device, it may be necessary to apply high voltage to additional components of the switching device beyond the contact pins. These additional components are also called lateral contact points.

[0007] The positions of the lateral contact points vary depending on the type and dimensions of a specific switching device, in particular the height and diameter of the switching device.

[0008] With conventional manufacturing devices, such as forming or testing vessels, a worker must select a contacting agent for contacting the lateral contact points depending on the type and dimensions of the switchgear being manufactured and then manually set up the manufacturing device. Thus, conventional devices and methods are complex in terms of the use of production time and personnel to set up the manufacturing device for a specific switchgear.

[0009] Furthermore, with conventional manufacturing devices, the worker must manually adjust the contacting means for each additional lateral contact point that has to be contacted during the production of a switching device.

[0010] Based on the known prior art, it is an object of the present invention to provide an improved contacting device for contacting a switching device and an improved manufacturing device for forming or testing a switching device.

[0011] The object is achieved by a contacting device having the features of claim 1. Advantageous further developments emerge from the subclaims, the description, and the figures.

[0012] Accordingly, a contacting device for contacting a switching device within a production container for manufacturing the switching device, in particular for forming or testing the switching device, is proposed. The contacting device comprises a rigid contact group for applying a production voltage to the switching device, wherein the rigid contact group has a receiving element. The contacting device further comprises a first adjustment mechanism for moving the rigid contact group along a height direction and a second adjustment mechanism for providing a length adjustment of the contacting device in a longitudinal direction. The first and second adjustment mechanisms can be subjected to the production voltage. The production voltage is an electrical high voltage for manufacturing the switching device.

[0013] In particular, the manufacturing voltage can be a high-voltage electrical device for forming and / or testing the switching device. Furthermore, the receiving element can be configured to contact the above-described lateral contact points of a switching device.

[0014] The term "rigid" contact group in this case means that the base body of the rigid contact group is rigid, i.e., its geometric dimensions are fixed. Because the rigid contact group has the receiving element, the receiving element can be moved along the longitudinal direction, for example by means of the second adjustment mechanism. Thus, the rigid contact group can be adjusted with regard to a radial dimension of a lateral contact point of the switching device, for example with regard to the diameter of the switching device, in order to apply the production voltage to the switching device. In this way, the second adjustment mechanism can provide the length adjustment of the contacting device in the longitudinal direction.

[0015] Because the contacting device has the first adjustment mechanism for moving the rigid contact group along a height direction, the rigid contact group can be adjusted for applying the production voltage to the switching device with respect to an axial dimension of a lateral contact point of the switching device, for example with respect to the height of the switching device and the resulting height position of the lateral contact point.

[0016] Furthermore, because the first and second adjustment mechanisms can be subjected to the production voltage, the rigid contact group can be adjusted longitudinally (i.e., radially) and vertically (i.e., axially) with respect to the switching device. Thus, the first and second adjustment mechanisms can be controlled by a corresponding control unit. In this way, the contacting of the lateral contact points within the production container can be automated or semi-automated.

[0017] In the present case, it is assumed that the proposed contacting device is aligned according to the main axis of a typical switching device described above, for example, a vacuum interrupter, with the switching device's main axis running centrally through the two contact pins. Thus, in this case, the axial direction refers to a direction along the switching device's main axis and consequently relates to the height of the switching device. The radial direction refers to a direction transverse to the switching device's main axis and consequently relates to the width or diameter of the switching device.

[0018] In the present context, the term "loadable", such as that a component "can be subjected to an electrical voltage", means that the component is essentially not damaged or even destroyed when subjected to a load, in this case in particular to a high electrical voltage.

[0019] In this case, the first and second adjustment mechanisms can be subjected to the manufacturing voltage, i.e., they are designed to be subjected to high electrical voltage without suffering significant damage from the manufacturing voltage. This means that the first and second adjustment mechanisms, for example, do not have any electromotive components that could be destroyed by the high voltage required for forming.

[0020] According to one embodiment, the first adjustment mechanism can have a threaded spindle or a vertical fluid drive, in particular a vertical hydraulic drive or a vertical pneumatic drive.

[0021] Additionally or alternatively, the second adjustment mechanism can have a horizontal fluid drive, in particular a horizontal hydraulic drive or a horizontal pneumatic drive.

[0022] The terms "vertical" and "hori zontal" refer in this case to an adjustment or movement along the vertical direction or the longitudinal direction.

[0023] By means of the threaded spindle and by means of the vertical or horizontal fluid drive, drives for the first and second adjustment mechanisms can be provided, which can be subjected to the production voltage. According to a further embodiment, the contacting device can have an inner group, designed for arrangement inside the production container, and an outer group, designed for arrangement outside the production container. The inner group can comprise the rigid contact group and the first and second adjustment mechanisms. The outer group can comprise a control unit for controlling the first and / or second adjustment mechanisms. In particular, the outer group can comprise a fluid control for controlling the vertical and / or horizontal fluid drive.

[0024] By providing the inner and outer group, the control unit can be decoupled from the production voltage, so that, for example, electrical and electronic components can be provided in the control unit.

[0025] According to a further embodiment, the first and / or second adjustment mechanism can be configured for continuously adjusting the rigid contact group. In this way, a large number of different lateral contact points can be contacted with particularly precise positioning.

[0026] According to a further embodiment, the contacting device can have a vertical guide tube. The threaded spindle can be mounted within the vertical guide tube, and the threaded spindle can be electrically shielded by the vertical guide tube. The vertical guide tube can be subjected to the production voltage, thus serving to supply voltage to the receiving element. In this way, the threaded spindle can be decoupled from the production voltage.

[0027] Furthermore, the contacting device can comprise a parallel guide tube, which is arranged substantially parallel to the vertical guide tube and can have a fluid supply line for supplying the horizontal fluid drive. In this way, the supply or control of the horizontal fluid drive can be ensured by a movement or adjustment of the rigid contact group along the vertical direction.

[0028] Furthermore, the first adjustment mechanism can have a slotted guide that couples the threaded spindle to the rigid contact group. In addition, the contacting device can have an electrically insulated drive shaft for rotating the threaded spindle. The slotted guide can comprise a sliding block mounted in the vertical guide tube, by means of which a rotary movement of the threaded spindle is converted into a movement of the rigid contact group along a height direction. In particular, the insulated drive shaft can have a dielectric strength above the production voltage. Thus, the insulated drive shaft can represent a functional interface between mechanical components inside and electrical components outside the production container.

[0029] According to a further embodiment, the contacting device can comprise a variable contact group for contacting the switching device with the production voltage, wherein the variable contact group can be detachably fastened to the receiving element. In other words, a first / second variable contact group with a first / second length can be provided for a first / second switching device with a first / second diameter, wherein the first / second length of the variable contact group is matched to the first / second diameter and thus to a corresponding radial position of the lateral contact points. Thus, by providing a plurality of variable contact groups with different lengths, additional adjustment in the longitudinal direction can be provided. Because the variable contact group can be detachably fastened to the receiving element, a respective switching device-specific one can be mounted quickly and easily.

[0030] For example, the variable contact group can be attached to the receiving element using a magnetic coupling, a plug-in coupling, a screw connection, or a bayonet lock. In this way, the attachment and / or release of the variable contact group can even be automated or semi-automated.

[0031] Additionally or alternatively, the variable contact group can have a spring-loaded contact bell for applying the manufacturing voltage to the switching device, wherein the contact bell can be attached to the variable contact group so that it can move along the longitudinal direction. For example, the variable contact group can have a ferromagnetic plate for the magnetic coupling at one end and the spring-loaded contact bell at an opposite end. Because the contact bell is spring-loaded and is attached to the variable contact group so that it can move along the longitudinal direction, additional adjustment in the longitudinal direction can be provided, which is particularly suitable for compensating for diameter tolerances of the switching device. In this way, the contacting of the lateral contact points can be carried out in a particularly robust manner, individually for the respective switching device.

[0032] According to a further development compatible with all embodiments and examples described herein, the manufacturing voltage may be higher than 50 kV. In current applications, the manufacturing voltage may be any value in the range between 70 kV and 1200 kV.

[0033] The above-mentioned object is further achieved by a manufacturing device having the features of claim 13. Advantageous developments of the device emerge from the present description and the figures. Accordingly, a manufacturing device for forming or testing a switching device is provided. The manufacturing device comprises the above-described manufacturing container and the above-described contacting device.

[0034] In particular, the outer group can be arranged outside the production container and the inner group can be arranged inside the production container.

[0035] Preferred further embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail in the following description of the figures. These schematically show:

[0036] Figures la, b sectional views of typical switching devices;

[0037] Figures 2a, b show a schematic diagram of a manufacturing device; and Figures 3-5 show a perspective, partially sectioned view of a contacting device.

[0038] Preferred embodiments are described below with reference to the figures. Identical, similar, or equivalent elements in the various figures are provided with identical reference symbols, and a repeated description of these elements is partially omitted to avoid redundancies.

[0039] Figure 1a shows a schematic longitudinal section of a typical switching device 2 in the form of a vacuum interrupter 2. A first and second end flange 2a, b close off a tubular base body 2c of the switching device 2. A stationary contact pin 2f extends through the first end flange 2a into the interior of the switching device 2. A movable contact pin 2g is held on the second end flange 2b by a linear bearing 2d with an internal bellows 2e. Inside the switching device 2, the two contact pins 2f, g each have a contact disk 2h, i. According to the illustration in Fig. 1, the main axis of the switching device corresponds to the Z-axis of a Cartesian coordinate system.By moving the movable contact bolt 2g along the switching device main axis Z, different switching distances between the two contact discs 2h, i can be set in order to provide different switching positions of the switching device 2.

[0040] Figure 1a further shows, by way of example and schematically, two lateral contact points 3a, b of the switching device 2, to which a production voltage in the form of an electrical high voltage is to be applied during production, in particular during the forming or testing of the switching device within a production container.

[0041] Figure 1b schematically shows two examples of a switching device as shown in Fig. 1a. The first example switching device, shown in the left-hand part of the figure, has three lateral contact points 3a to 3c, each with a height ha to hc and a radius rl. The second example switching device 2, shown in the right-hand part of the figure, has two lateral contact points 3d and 3e, each with a height hd and he and a radius r2. As can be seen in Fig. 1b, the heights ha to he and the radii dl and d2 of the two example switching devices differ significantly. The heights ha to he and radii dl and d2 are measured from a clamping point at which the switching device is clamped in the production container, for example the end of one of the two contact bolts 2g or 2f.

[0042] If the two example switching devices 2 are to be arranged or clamped in the same production container for the purpose of forming or testing, the contacting device must be adjusted accordingly in the vertical and longitudinal directions to apply the production voltage to the lateral contact points 3a to 3e. In conventional contacting devices, this adjustment is carried out manually by a worker. For a better understanding of the directions, a Cartesian coordinate system XYZ is used uniformly in the present case, the origin of which can, for example, be at the clamping point described above. It is further assumed that the switching device 2 and the proposed contacting device 1 (see Fig. 3-5) or the proposed production device 100 (see Fig. 2a, b) are aligned to one another as follows.

[0043] The switching device main axis runs centrally through the two contact bolts 2 f , g and is parallel to the Z-axis or coincides with the Z-axis. The manufacturing device main axis runs through the clamping point 106 (see Fig . 2 a, b ) and is parallel to the Z-axis or coincides with the Z-axis . The contacting device main axis corresponds to a height direction and is parallel to the switching device main axis or to the Z-axis . The contacting device longitudinal axis corresponds to a longitudinal direction and is parallel to the X-axis .

[0044] Starting from the clamping point 106, each lateral contact point 3a to 3e can be uniquely determined by two distances, namely an axial distance, for example in the form of the heights ha to he, and a radial distance, for example in the form of the radii rl and r2. Consequently, in the present case, an axial / radial adjustment or adaptation corresponds to a movement of a corresponding component of the proposed contacting device 1 in the vertical / longitudinal direction or along the Z-axis / X-axis.

[0045] Figures 2a and 2b each show a schematic diagram of the proposed production device 100. The production device 100 comprises a production container 4 having a lower clamping device 102 and an upper clamping device 104 for clamping the contact pins 2g, f of the switching device 2. The lower clamping device 102, together with the clamped contact pin 2g, provides an imaginary clamping point 106 which corresponds to the origin of the XYZ coordinate system. The production device 100 further comprises the proposed contacting device 1, having an inner group 16 which is arranged inside the production container 4, and an outer group 18 which is arranged outside the production container 4. The inner group 16 can be subjected to a production voltage, wherein the production voltage is a high electrical voltage for manufacturing, in particular for forming or testing the switching device 2.The outer group 18 cannot in itself be subjected to the production voltage, which means that the outer group 18 comprises components which would be damaged if subjected to the production voltage. However, the outer group 18 has a production voltage supply 30 which supplies the production voltage from a voltage supply via the outer group 18 to the inner group 16. The outer group 18 also has a fluid supply line 12b, a control unit 20 and a fluid control 21 for supplying or controlling the inner group 16. Those components of the inner group 16 which are potentially sensitive to the production voltage are electrically shielded within the inner group, as explained below with reference to Figure 3.

[0046] From a geometric comparison between Fig. 2a and Fig. 2b it is evident that the inner group 16 is designed for axial and radial adjustment in order to contact the lateral contact points 3 of the switching devices 2 which are positioned differently in the Z and X directions.

[0047] Figures 3, 4 and 5 each show a perspective, partially sectioned view of the proposed contacting device 1. Fig. 3 shows essential components of the inner group 16 as well as the interface components 12b, 22, 30 to the outer group 18. The contacting device 1 comprises a base housing 34 as a structural basis for the inner group 16 and as a basis for the interface components, in particular the fluid supply line 12b, the production voltage supply 30 and an insulated drive shaft 22 of the contacting device 1. The base housing 34 can be arranged inside the production container 4 (not shown) and / or outside the production container 4.

[0048] For applying the production voltage to the lateral contacts 3 of the switching device, the contacting device 1 comprises a rigid contact group 6 having a receiving element 8. A variable contact group 24 is releasably attached to the receiving element 8, comprising a spring-loaded contact bell 28 for contacting the lateral contacts 3.

[0049] To move the rigid contact group 6 along the Z-axis, i.e. to axially adjust the contact along the height direction Z, the contacting device 1 comprises a first adjustment mechanism 10, the movable components of which are essentially arranged in a vertical guide tube 11a. More precisely, a threaded spindle 11 is rotatably mounted in the vertical guide tube 11a and can be driven by an electric motor arranged in the outer group 18 by means of the insulating shaft 22. The rotary movement of the threaded spindle 11 is converted into a linear displacement of the rigid contact group 6 along the height direction Z by means of a slotted guide 11b, to which the rigid contact group 6 is fastened.

[0050] As an alternative to the threaded spindle and slotted guide, the first adjustment mechanism 10 for moving the rigid contact group 6 along the vertical direction Z can, in particular, have a vertical fluid drive, for example a vertical hydraulic drive or a vertical pneumatic drive. To move the receiving element 8 and thus the contact bell 28 arranged thereon along the X-axis, i.e., to radially adjust the contact along the longitudinal direction X, the contacting device 1 comprises a second adjustment mechanism 12, the movable components of which are arranged essentially in or on the rigid contact group 6.

[0051] The second adjustment mechanism 12 has a horizontal fluid drive 14 in the form of a horizontal pneumatic drive 14. Alternatively, the horizontal fluid drive 14 can be provided in the form of a horizontal hydraulic drive 14.

[0052] The second adjustment mechanism 12 is supplied or controlled by the fluid supply line 12b. The fluid supply line 12b is arranged spirally in a parallel guide tube 12a, which is aligned parallel to the vertical guide tube 11a and is coupled to the latter via the base housing 34 and a rigid boom 32. By means of the spiral arrangement or winding of the fluid supply line 12b within the parallel guide tube 12a and by means of the rigid boom 32, the fluid supply to the second adjustment mechanism 12 can be adjusted in height. Accordingly, the two guide tubes 11a and 12a have essentially the same height.

[0053] The first adjustment mechanism 10 can be subjected to the production voltage and is designed to transmit the production voltage from the production voltage supply 30 via the vertical guide tube 11a and the slotted guide 11b mounted therein to the rigid contact group 6. The second adjustment mechanism 12 can be subjected to the production voltage and is designed to transmit the production voltage from the rigid contact group 6 via a guide element 46 for guiding the piston of a pneumatic cylinder 48 to the receiving element 8 fastened to the piston. The production voltage is thus applied to the contact bell 28 of the variable contact group 24, which is detachably fastened to the receiving element 8.

[0054] Figure 4 shows a section of the contacting device 1, wherein the variable contact group 24 described above is not mounted. The radial longitudinal adjustment provided by the second adjustment mechanism is designated in Figure 4 as the first longitudinal adjustment LI and can be 30 mm, 20 mm, or 15 mm, for example, using a pneumatic drive. Thus, the first longitudinal adjustment LI can serve, for example, to retract the receiving element 8 in order to avoid collisions with the environment during a height adjustment of the rigid contact group 6.

[0055] Figure 5 shows a section of the contacting device 1 having a variable contact group 24 with an effective length L2. The effective length L2 denotes a distance between the sliding element 6 and the spring-loaded contact bell 28. As described above, the variable contact group 24 can be selected depending on the particular switching device to be manufactured. The maximum achievable effective length L2 depends on the stability of the fastening mechanism for releasably fastening the variable contact group 24 and on its own weight. For example, using the magnetic coupling 26 shown in Fig. 5, effective lengths L2 between 20mm and 300mm can be achieved. Using more robust fastening mechanisms such as a screw or banquet lock, effective lengths L2 of up to 1000mm can be achieved. In other words, by means of the variable contact group 24, a maximum adjustment length of the contacting device 1 along the longitudinal direction can be 1000mm, 800mm, 600mm, 400mm, 300mm, 200mm or an intermediate value.

[0056] For robust transmission of the production voltage, the rigid contact group 6 has a casing 42, and the variable contact group 24 has a cylindrical holding piece 36, which can optionally contact the casing 42 in a voltage-transmitting manner even when the second adjustment mechanism 12 is actuated. Furthermore, for robust transmission of the production voltage, the variable contact group 24 has a contact piece 44, which is arranged between the cylindrical holding piece 36 and the contact bell 28 mounted thereon in a spring-loaded manner.

[0057] By means of the spring-loaded contact bell 28, an automatic radial tolerance adjustment is provided to compensate for radial tolerances of the switching device 2.

[0058] As an alternative to the embodiment shown in Figures 3 to 5, the second adjustment mechanism 12 can be provided without the horizontal fluid drive 14 and can provide the length adjustment of the contacting device in the longitudinal direction X solely by means of the variable effective length L2 of the variable contact group 24.
