8180 results about "Switchgear" patented technology

In an electric power system, switchgear is composed of electrical disconnect switches, fuses or circuit breakers used to control, protect and isolate electrical equipment. Switchgear is used both to de-energize equipment to allow work to be done and to clear faults downstream. This type of equipment is directly linked to the reliability of the electricity supply.

System for centralized monitoring and control of electric powered hydraulic fracturing fleet

A system and method are disclosed for centralized monitoring and control of a hydraulic fracturing operation. The system includes an electric powered fracturing fleet and a centralized control unit coupled to the electric powered fracturing fleet. The electric powered fracturing fleet can include a combination of one or more of: electric powered pumps, turbine generators, blenders, sand silos, chemical storage units, conveyor belts, manifold trailers, hydration units, variable frequency drives, switchgear, transformers, and compressors. The centralized control unit can be configured to monitor and / or control one or more operating characteristics of the electric powered fracturing fleet.

Racking device and power module therefor

A racking device performs a circuit breaker racking operation. The racking device includes a base with wheels and a brake to facilitate moving the racking device and positioning it with respect to a switchgear cabinet. An elongated tubular member extends substantially vertically from the base. A self-contained counter-balanced power module includes an enclosure having a pair of opposing openings for receiving the elongated tubular member, and a counterweight system for counter-balancing the power module. An actuator including a motor, a ball spline and a torque member moves a linkage assembly having an end effector with a negator spring that positively engages the circuit breaker. A switch module actuates the actuator from a remote location in order to move the linkage assembly and thus the circuit breaker to perform the racking operation from the remote location. Complicated field programming of the power module is not required.

Wireless switching and energy management

A wireless switching apparatus is provided for three-way switching at least one energy load with an AC power source. The apparatus comprises a relay controlled by a controller. The controller is also connected to both a toggle and a wireless transceiver. A remote wireless transceiver unit is in communication with the wireless transceiver. The controller operates the relay for making and breaking electrical continuity between the energy load and an AC power source in response to a change in the state of either toggle or wireless signals received from the remote wireless transmitting unit. Control of the energy load using a combined system comprising an energy monitoring device operatively coupled to the apparatus is also provided. Methods are provided for retrofitting conventional receptacles and switches with the wireless switching apparatus.

Abnormal vibration analysis-based GIS (gas insulated switchgear) mechanical fault diagnosis method and system

The invention discloses an abnormal vibration analysis-based GIS (gas insulated switchgear) mechanical fault diagnosis method and system. The GIS (gas insulated switchgear) mechanical fault diagnosis method includes the following steps that: vibration signals on a GIS are acquired; de-noising processing is performed on the acquired signals through using a threshold de-noising method; various kinds of feature information contained in the signals are extracted by using a narrowband noise aided multivariate empirical mode decomposition (EMD) method; the power feature of the signals is extracted by using a power density function, and the maximal amplitudes of the power spectra of all IMF of each channel are calculated so as to form power feature matrixes under measured conditions; and a power feature matrix under a normal condition and/or power feature matrixes under various kinds of fault conditions which are obtained through tests are adopted as judgment criteria of faults. Compared with a traditional method, the method and system of the invention have no influence on the normal operation of a whole power system, and can monitor the running state of the GIS safely and reliably, and are suitable for being applied to GIS substations of various voltage levels.
