Description

[0001] DRIVE MODULE AND ON-LOAD TAP-CHANGER SYSTEM WITH DRIVE MODULE

[0002] The invention relates to a drive module and an on-load tap-changer system with a drive module for actuating an on-load tap-changer.

[0003] Tap changers, particularly on-load tap changers, are used for uninterrupted switching between the winding taps of a transformer. Common on-load tap changers consist, for example, of a selector for powerless pre-selection of the respective winding tap to which switching is to take place, and a load transfer switch for the actual load switching from the previous winding tap to the new, pre-selected winding tap. To carry out the switching or to operate the corresponding components, common tap changers have a control cabinet with a motor drive, which is usually located on the outside of the transformer housing. A wide variety of components, such as controllers, power supplies, etc., are also located inside the control cabinet. The energy required to operate the on-load tap changer is provided by a corresponding power supply. This type of drive is large and not very flexible.

[0004] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a drive module which is compact and safe and can be easily installed.

[0005] This object is solved by the subject matter of independent claim 1. Further embodiments are the subject matter of the dependent claims.

[0006] A further object of the present invention is to provide an improved concept for an on-load tap-changer system with a drive module for actuating an on-load tap-changer, which is of compact and safe construction.

[0007] This object is solved by the subject matter of independent claim 8. Further embodiments are the subject matter of the dependent claims.

[0008] According to the inventive concept, a drive module is specified, comprising a sealing flange, an engine cover and an engine hood, wherein a motor and a sensor are arranged in the engine hood and a sensor unit is arranged in the sealing flange.

[0009] The drive module consists of a sealing flange, an engine cover, and an engine hood. When assembled, these components form a sealed, interconnected, and compact unit. A motor and a sensor are also located inside the drive module. A gearbox is also tightly installed in the engine cover, in close proximity to the motor. The sensors and corresponding cabling located within the drive module also contribute to the compactness of the drive module.

[0010] The drive module can be designed in any desired manner and, for example, comprise a sensor unit and a first shaft with cams, a first connecting element; a position indicator; wherein the first shaft is rotatably mounted in the sealing flange; the position indicator detects a rotational movement of the first shaft; the sensor unit is connected to the first connecting element via a first signal cable.

[0011] The encoder unit is preferably formed from at least one microswitch. Alternatively, however, further elements for detecting the rotary movement of the first, rotatably mounted shaft can be provided, for example single-turn or multi-turn encoders. In the case of microswitches, the encoder unit is preferably actuated via cams that are arranged on the first shaft or are part of the first shaft. The first shaft serves at its first end as a connection to the on-load tap-changer. This first shaft is rotatably mounted in the sealing flange by means of bearings and seals. The encoder unit is preferably connected via a first signal cable to a first connecting element, which is designed as a plug.

[0012] The gear unit is encapsulated separately in a section of the motor cover. The gear unit connects the first shaft to a motor and adjusts the motor's revolutions to the revolutions of the on-load tap-changer.

[0013] The engine cover houses the motor and the sensor mounted on the motor. The engine cover is attached directly to the engine cover. The motor shaft is mechanically connected to the transmission unit. The wiring for the sensor or sensor unit, as well as the cables for the motor's power supply, are located inside the drive module. A first terminal forms the central point for all signals from the drive module, and a second terminal forms the central point for the power supply.

[0014] According to a second aspect, an on-load tap-changer system with a drive module for actuating an on-load tap-changer is specified, comprising a control system with a control device, a power supply unit, and a motor module with an energy storage device; an on-load tap-changer; wherein the drive module is directly or indirectly connected to the on-load tap-changer; the control device transmits a switching command to the motor module; the motor module controls and regulates the motor in the drive module such that it actuates the on-load tap-changer and the energy required for the actuation is taken exclusively from the energy storage device.

[0015] By combining the drive module with a control system and an on-load tap-changer, a particularly compact on-load tap-changer system is created.

[0016] The drive module is preferably screwed directly onto or connected to the on-load tap-changer. In this case, the on-load tap-changer can be designed as a so-called bolt-on tap-changer. This is screwed externally to the housing of a tap-changer. The drive module can also be connected indirectly to the on-load tap-changer. In this case, the on-load tap-changer is mounted on a wall inside a tap-changer, and the on-load tap-changer is mounted externally at a corresponding location on the wall.

[0017] The on-load tap-changer system can be configured in any desired manner, for example, with the power supply supplying power exclusively to the motor module; the power supply being a wide-range power supply and converting direct or alternating voltage in a range of 100V-240V 1AC / 2AC or 110V-220V DC into a direct voltage of 48 volts; the motor module having an energy storage device configured as a high-voltage energy storage device; the motor module having a power output stage configured and configured to operate or supply power to both brushed motors and brushless motors; the motor module having a control unit configured and configured to operate the motor and thus the on-load tap-changer based on the switching commands of the control device and to monitor this operation. The drawings show:

[0018] Figures 1, 2 and 3 show a drive module;

[0019] Figure 4 is a schematic representation of an on-load tap-changer system with a drive module.

[0020] Figures 1, 2 and 3 show a drive module 40 according to the invention. The drive module 40 has a sealing flange 41, a motor cover 42 and a motor hood 43. The sealing flange 41 is shell-shaped and has a position indicator 44 and a sensor unit 45 inside it. A first shaft 46 extends into the interior of the sealing flange 41. A first end 462 of the first shaft 46 is connected directly or indirectly to the on-load tap-changer 2 (not shown here). The first shaft 46 is connected to the sealing flange 41 by means of bearings and seals or is installed in it. Several cams 461 on the first shaft 46 are coupled to the sensor unit 45. The sensor unit 45 has at least one, preferably two, microswitches that are actuated by the cams 461.The microswitches of the sensor unit 45 are connected via a first signal cable (not shown) to a first connecting element 61, which is also arranged in the sealing flange 41.

[0021] The position indicator 44 is designed as a rotatably mounted Geneva wheel and detects the rotational movement of the first shaft 46 directly or via a driver. Numbers indicating the current tap position of the on-load tap-changer 2 are engraved on a first side 441 of the Geneva wheel. The tap position of the on-load tap-changer 2 can be determined based on the rotational movement of the first shaft 46.

[0022] The motor cover 42 is also shell-shaped and designed such that it can be connected to the sealing flange 41 in a form-fitting, i.e., sealed manner. The sealing flange 41 and the motor cover 42 form a housing and house, among other things, a gear 47 and the position indicator 44.

[0023] The motor cover 42 has a shell-shaped area in which the gear 47 is arranged. A first side 471 of the gear 47 is connected to a second end 463 of the first shaft 46. The gear 47 is separated by a cover 421 in the motor cover 42. The gear 47 is mounted in grease and installed tightly. In other words, the gear 47 is encapsulated in the motor cover 42. The gear 47 is designed as a two-stage spur gear and adapts the speed of the motor 48 to the required speed of the first shaft 46, which is connected to the on-load tap-changer 2. Furthermore, a first and a second terminal 51 and 52 and a second connecting element 62 are arranged in the motor cover 42. When assembled, the first and second connecting elements 61, 62 engage with each other, thus establishing an electrically conductive connection. The second connecting element 62 is connected to the first terminal 51 via a second signal cable.Furthermore, the engine cover 42 has a vent valve 60, which serves to equalize pressure and is both watertight and breathable. Both the first and second connecting elements 61, 62 are preferably designed as interlocking plugs.

[0024] The cup-shaped motor hood 43 is mounted directly on the motor cover 42. A motor 48 with an encoder 49 is arranged inside the motor hood 43. The encoder 49 is preferably designed as an incremental encoder. The encoder 49 is attached directly to the motor 48 and serves to control the speed and position of the motor 48. The motor 48 is designed as a brushed or brushless DC motor. A motor shaft 481 of the motor 48 is connected to a second end 472 of the gearbox 47. A first power supply cable of the motor 48 is connected to the second terminal 52 via an opening in the motor cover 42. A third signal cable of the incremental encoder 49 is also connected to the first terminal 51 via another opening in the motor cover 41. The first terminal 51 thus serves as a collection point for signals, and the second terminal 52 serves as the power supply.

[0025] The motor cover 42 has a first cable guide 511 and a second cable guide 521, which are designed as openings in a wall of the motor cover 42. A second power supply cable runs from the interior of the drive module 41 through the second cable guide 521, wherein said second cable guide contacts or is connected to the second terminal 52 inside, to the control system 4. A fourth signal cable runs from the interior of the drive module 41 through the first cable guide 511 to the control system 4, wherein said control system 4 contacts the first terminal 51 inside. The fourth signal cable and the second power supply cable are fixed in the respective cable guides 511 and 521 by cable glands with a lock nut.

[0026] The sealing flange 41, the engine cover 42 and the engine hood 43 are positively connected to one another and form a unit when assembled.

[0027] A single-turn encoder 50 is mounted on or coupled to the position indicator 44. This encoder detects a rotation of the position indicator 44 and transmits it in digital form. For this purpose, the single-turn encoder 50 is connected to the first terminal 51 via a fifth signal cable. The single-turn encoder 50 enables the current position of the on-load tap-changer 2 to be digitally recorded, reproduced, and processed.

[0028] Figure 4 shows a schematic representation of an on-load tap-changer system 1. The on-load tap-changer system 1 comprises an on-load tap-changer 2. The on-load tap-changer 2 is designed as a resistance-type tap-changer or as an on-load tap-changer based on the reactor switching principle. Typically, the on-load tap-changer 2 comprises a diverter switch 21, a selector 22, and a preselector 23. The diverter switch 21 can comprise mechanical switching contacts, vacuum interrupters, or semiconductor switching elements for performing a switchover.

[0029] The drive module 40 is arranged directly at one end of the on-load tap-changer 2, preferably on its housing or on its head. The drive module 40 is screwed directly or indirectly to or on the on-load tap-changer 2.

[0030] The encoder 49 is used to control the motor 48 during a switchover, i.e., a switchover from a current tap position n to a neighboring tap position n+1. The microswitch(es) 45 determine the end and start of a switchover. The single-turn encoder 50 is connected to the position indicator 44 and serves to digitally output the tap position of the on-load tap-changer 2.

[0031] The on-load tap-changer system 1 further comprises a control system 4 with a control device 5, a power supply 6, and a motor module 7. The control device 5 is designed and configured to receive switching commands in order to actuate the on-load tap-changer 2. The switching commands can be transmitted from external sources to the control device 5. Furthermore, the control device 5 can have a voltage regulator that can independently generate switching commands based on measured voltages and currents.

[0032] The power supply 6 is preferably designed as a wide-range power supply. This supplies power exclusively to the motor module 7. The power supply 6 is designed and configured to convert a connected DC or AC voltage in a range of 100-240V 1AC / 2AC or 110V-220V DC into a 48V DC voltage. Furthermore, the power supply 6 can have a connection for an external 48V DC battery.

[0033] The motor module 7 has a diagnostic interface 71, which is designed as a general-purpose interface (GPI) and is primarily used for testing purposes. Furthermore, the motor module 7 has a communication interface 72, through which the control module 5 is connected to the motor module 7. Furthermore, the motor module 7 has a sensor interface 73, through which signals in the drive module 40, i.e., those of the incremental encoder 49 and those of the encoder unit 45, are transmitted to the motor module 7 via the fourth signal cable.

[0034] Furthermore, the motor module 7 has an energy interface 74 through which the motor 48 in the drive module 40 is supplied with energy via the energy supply cable.

[0035] In addition to an energy storage device 8, the motor module 7 has a power output stage 75. The energy storage device 8 is preferably a high-voltage energy storage device, a supercap, or a simple capacitor. The energy storage device 8 is used to temporarily store energy that serves to operate the motor module 7 and thus the motor 48. The power output stage 75 is designed and configured to operate or supply both brushed motors and brushless motors with energy. The power section 75 is preferably designed as a half-bridge or triple half-bridge.

[0036] A control unit 76 in the motor module 7 is preferably designed as a microcontroller. The control unit 76 is designed and configured to operate the motor 48 and thus the on-load tap-changer 2 based on the switching commands of the control device 5 and to monitor this operation. In particular, the control unit 76 regulates and controls the energy storage device 8, the power output stage 75, and the motor 48 using the encoders in the drive module 40, i.e., the incremental encoder 49, the microswitches 45, and the single-turn encoder 50.

[0037] During the actuation of motor 48, i.e., the switching of the on-load tap-changer 2, the torque, position, speed, and / or time applied to motor 48 are monitored in the control unit 76. This is preferably done via the sensors and the current and voltage flowing in the power output stage.
