2132 results about "Transfer switch" patented technology

A transfer switch is an electrical switch that switches a load between two sources. Some transfer switches are manual, in that an operator effects the transfer by throwing a switch, while others are automatic and trigger when they sense one of the sources has lost or gained power.

Power averaging and power load management system

A power and load management system for a recreational vehicle provides a power distribution panel comprising a distribution controller operative to generate distribution control signals including at least load signals corresponding to the power load demands on the power distribution panel and distribution relay control signals, and an automatic transfer switch (ATS). The ATS has multiple power inputs, each operative to be connected to one of multiple power sources, e.g., shore power, a battery bank, a generator, etc., and two power transfer lines to the power distribution switch. The ATS further comprises multiple relays, each controllable independently of the others by an ATS controller to connect a corresponding one of the power transfer lines to a selected one of the available power inputs to feed power to the power distribution panel. The ATS further has multiple sensors, each operative to generate a power availability signal to the ATS controller corresponding to the availability of power on a corresponding one of the power input lines. The ATS controller is operative to receive load signals from the distribution controller and power availability signals from the ATS sensors, and to generate the power transfer control signals to the ATS relays and ATS signals to the distribution controller corresponding to power availability. The power distribution panel further comprises independently controllable distribution relays to connect each of the power transfer lines to power load(s).

Intra-pixel frame storage element, array, and electronic shutter method suitable for electronic still camera applications

A storage pixel sensor disposed on a semiconductor substrate comprises a capacitive storage element having a first terminal connected to a fixed potential and a second terminal. A photodiode has an anode connected to a first potential and a cathode. A semiconductor reset switch has a first terminal connected to the cathode and a second terminal connected to a reset potential. A semiconductor transfer switch has a first terminal connected to the cathode and a second terminal connected to the second terminal of the capacitive storage element. A semiconductor amplifier has an input connected to the capacitive storage element and an output. The semiconductor reset switch and the semiconductor transfer switch each have a control element connected to a control circuit for selectively activating the semiconductor reset switch and the semiconductor transfer switch. A light shield is disposed over portions of the semiconductor substrate comprising a circuit node including the second terminal of the semiconductor transfer switch, the second terminal of the capacitive storage element and the input of the semiconductor amplifier and to prevent substantially all photons from entering the circuit node. Structures are present for preventing substantially all minority carriers generated in the semiconductor substrate from entering the circuit node. A plurality of storage pixel sensors are disposed in an array.

Air suspension and electronically controlled suspension system

InactiveUS20060219503A1Rapidly and efficiently stabilize movement of vehiclePipe supportsSpringsDriver/operatorControl signal
The present invention relates to an air suspension and an electronically controlled suspension system. An electronically controlled suspension system of the present invention comprises an air suspension including a volume expander connected to a pressure acting volume of an air spring to expand the pressure acting volume, and a volume control valve for opening or closing the connection between the pressure acting volume and the volume expander; a mode-changing switch for applying a mode-setting key signal according to a driver's button operation; an electronic control unit for outputting a valve control signal for use in exhibiting a suspension characteristic of the vehicle in response to the mode-setting key signal from the mode-changing switch; and an air spring volume adjustor for controlling a spring rate of the air spring through adjustment of the pressure acting volume of the air spring by opening or closing the volume control valve in response to the valve control signal from the electronic control valve, thereby forcibly setting the suspension characteristic of the vehicle. The present invention is to control a spring rate of an air spring employed in an air suspension to a range of damping force characteristics of a relevant mode by selectively controlling a pressure acting volume of the air spring using a fast response valve in response to a signal corresponding to a driver's mode-changing operation. Thus, during sudden braking, rapid acceleration or cornering, a driver can conveniently change characteristics of a vehicle mounted with the air suspension by operating a button within the vehicle, resulting in maximization of consumers' satisfaction.
