Description

base station

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a base station for controlling handovers.

[0002] The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) is developing specifications for the 5th generation mobile communication system (5G, also known as New Radio (NR) or Next Generation (NG)), and is also developing specifications for the next generation of mobile communication systems, known as Beyond 5G, 5G Evolution, or 6G.

[0003] 3GPP Release 18 discusses the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML). AI / ML models (hereinafter referred to as learning models) are downloaded from base stations (gNodeB, gNB) and applied to terminals (User Equipment, UE). Applying learning models is expected to improve performance in areas such as Channel State Information (CSI) feedback, beam management (BM), positioning, mobility, network slicing, and Quality of Experience (QoE).

[0004] As mentioned above, applying learning models to UEs is expected to improve mobility, especially in cell transitions such as handover (HO), conditional handover (CHO), and lower layer triggered mobility (LTM) (Non-Patent Document 1).

[0005] “Moderator's summary for REL-19 RAN2 topic AI / ML for Air Interface SI (Mobility)”, RP-232622, 3GPP TSG RAN #101, 3GPP, September 11-15, 2023

[0006] The availability of a learning model applied to a UE may vary depending on the cell. That is, a learning model that was available in a cell from which a transition occurs (hereinafter also referred to as a source cell) may not be available in a cell to which a transition occurs (hereinafter also referred to as a target cell). However, in the case of CHO and LTM, in which candidate cells and HO conditions are set in advance, there is a problem in that the UE cannot know whether the learning model currently being used in the target cell can continue to be used. Furthermore, even when an HO command is sent to a UE from a gNB forming a source cell (hereinafter also referred to as a source gNB), there is a problem in that the source gNB cannot determine whether the learning model used by the UE in the source cell can also be used in the target cell.

[0007] Therefore, the present disclosure has been made in consideration of such circumstances, and aims to provide a base station that can share information about learning models available in a target cell with terminals or other base stations.

[0008] One aspect of the disclosure is a base station that includes a control unit (HO condition setting unit 140) that sets transition conditions to a cell for a terminal that transitions to the cell without requesting transition to the cell, and a transmission unit (transmitting / receiving unit 110) that transmits information to the terminal indicating whether a learning model can be used in the cell.

[0009] One aspect of the disclosure is a base station comprising a control unit (control unit 160) that forms a cell to which a terminal that uses a learning model transitions, and a transmission unit (transmission / reception unit 110) that transmits information indicating whether the learning model can be used in the cell to other base stations to which the terminal is connected.

[0011] Hereinafter, embodiments will be described with reference to the drawings. Note that the same or similar reference numerals are used to designate the same functions or configurations, and descriptions thereof will be omitted as appropriate.

[0012] (1) Overall Schematic Configuration of Wireless Communication System The wireless communication system 10 shown in Fig. 1 is a wireless communication system conforming to a method called 5G. Alternatively, the wireless communication system 10 may be a wireless communication system conforming to a method called Beyond 5G, 5G Evolution, or 6G.

[0013] The wireless communication system 10 can support Massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (Massive MIMO), which generates more directional beams by controlling wireless signals transmitted from multiple antenna elements, Carrier Aggregation (CA), which uses multiple component carriers (CCs) as a bundle, and Dual Connectivity (DC), which enables simultaneous communication with two base stations.

[0014] As shown in FIG. 1 , the wireless communication system 10 includes a base station (gNodeB, gNB) 100 connected to a Next Generation-Radio Access Network (NG-RAN) 20, and a terminal (User Equipment, UE) 200 that performs wireless communication with the gNB 100. The NG-RAN 20 is connected to a core network (CN) (not shown). The CN is configured by a network function (NF) such as an access and mobility management function (AMF). Note that the specific configuration of the wireless communication system 10, for example, the number of gNBs 100 and UEs 200, is not limited to the example shown in FIG. 1 . Furthermore, the NG-RAN 20 and the CN may be simply referred to as a "network," and may or may not be considered to be included in the wireless communication system 10.

[0015] The gNB100 may be a base station in a Centralized-Radio Access Network (C-RAN) configuration having a distributed unit (DU) having a function for connecting to the UE200 and a central unit (CU) having a function for connecting to the network. In this case, the gNB100 may be referred to as a DU or a CU. When the gNB100 is a DU, it may be referred to as a gNB-DU, an Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) node, a wireless communication node, etc. Similarly, when the gNB100 is a CU, it may be referred to as a gNB-CU, an IAB donor, etc.

[0016] The wireless communication system 10 may also support multiple frequency ranges (FR). That is, as shown in Fig. 2, the wireless communication system 10 may support the following FRs: FR1: 410 MHz to 7.125 GHz FR2-1: 24.25 GHz to 52.6 GHz FR2-2: Over 52.6 GHz to 71 GHz

[0017] In FR1, a subcarrier spacing (SCS) of 15, 30, or 60 kHz and a bandwidth (BW) of 5 to 100 MHz may be used, while in FR2-1, an SCS of 60 or 120 kHz (including 240 kHz) and a BW of 50 to 400 MHz may be used.

[0018] In FR2-2, to avoid an increase in phase noise, Cyclic Prefix-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (CP-OFDM) or Discrete Fourier Transform-Spread-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (DFT-S-OFDM) with a larger SCS may be applied.

[0019] 3, one slot in the wireless communication system 10 is composed of 14 symbols. If this configuration is maintained, the larger (wider) the SCS, the shorter the symbol period (and slot period). Note that the SCS is not limited to the frequencies shown in FIG. 3 and may be, for example, 480 kHz, 960 kHz, or other frequencies.

[0020] Furthermore, the number of symbols constituting one slot does not necessarily have to be 14, but may be, for example, 28 or 56. Furthermore, the number of slots per subframe may differ depending on the SCS.

[0021] (2) Functional block configuration of wireless communication system (2.1) Functional block configuration of base station As shown in Figure 4, the gNB 100 includes a transceiver unit 110, a message generation unit 120, a list generation unit 130, an HO condition setting unit 140, an HO request / approval unit 150, and a control unit 160.

[0022] The transceiver 110 transmits and receives radio signals to and from the UE 200. The transceiver 110 may include a transmitter that transmits radio signals to the UE 200 or another gNB 100, and a receiver that receives radio signals from the UE 200 or another gNB 100. "Send" may be interpreted as "configure," "instruct," or the like. "Receive" may be interpreted as "reported," "notified," or the like. The radio signal includes, for example, a message generated by the message generator 120. As will be described later, the message may include information indicating whether a learning model is available in a cell formed by the gNB 100. That is, the transceiver 110 can transmit information indicating whether a learning model is available in a cell formed by the gNB 100.

[0023] The information indicating whether a learning model can be used in a cell formed by the gNB 100 may be a list of cells that can use the learning model. That is, the transceiver 110 can transmit a list of cells that can use the learning model as such information. This list may be, for example, a grouping of cells that can use the learning model for each learning model (see FIG. 6).

[0024] The transceiver 110 may transmit or exchange information indicating whether a learning model is available in a cell formed by the gNB100 over the Xn interface with another gNB100 (see FIGS. 8 and 9). Furthermore, the transceiver 110 may transmit information indicating whether a learning model is available in a cell formed by the gNB100 in response to a transition request from a UE200 from another gNB100 (see FIG. 10). Note that, when the gNB100 and another gNB100 are interpreted as gNB-DUs as described above, the transmission of information indicating whether a learning model is available by the transceiver 110 may be interpreted as including transmission via a gNB-CU that controls the gNB-DU (see FIG. 11). This allows the transceiver 110 to transmit information indicating whether a learning model is available to another gNB-DU via the gNB-CU.

[0025] The information indicating whether the learning model is available may be at least one of information indicating whether the learning model is available and information indicating whether the learning model is unavailable. The information indicating whether the learning model is available may be realized, for example, by 1 bit (1 or 0) or in ASN.1 format. Furthermore, the information indicating whether the learning model is available may include the time during which the learning model is available or the time during which the learning model is unavailable.

[0026] The message generation unit 120 generates a message to be transmitted to the UE 200 or another gNB 100. The message may be, for example, an RRC Reconfiguration message, an Xn interface message, an F1 interface message, or the like. Furthermore, the message in this embodiment may be interpreted as including not only a Radio Resource Control (RRC) message but also a Medium Access Control Control Element (MAC CE) or Downlink Control Information (DCI). The message in this embodiment may include a learning model, configuration information related to the learning model, a list of cells to which the learning model can be applied, and the like. Details will be described in the section on operation examples.

[0027] The list generation unit 130 generates a list of cells that can use the learning model used by the UE 200. The list may be a list of cells that can use the learning model for each learning model (see FIG. 6). Alternatively, the list may be a list of learning models that can be used in each cell (not shown). The list generation unit 130 may include the generated list in the above-mentioned message.

[0028] The HO condition setting unit 140 sets, for the UE 200, candidate cells (hereinafter also referred to as candidate cells) as a handover destination for the UE 200 and HO conditions, which are conditions for the UE 200 to autonomously perform HO. The HO condition is, for example, the detection of a radio link failure (RLF). Such pre-setting may be performed, for example, via an RRCReconfiguration message shown in FIG. 7 (described later), or may be performed before that. Note that the candidate cell may also be considered as one of the HO conditions, and the following description will be considered as such. Autonomous HO includes, for example, the above-described CHO and LTM, as well as subsequent mobility (described later). By setting the HO condition in advance in this way, the UE 200 can handover (HO) to a cell (target cell) without requesting the gNB 100 to handover to the cell. Note that the HO condition setting unit 140 may be interpreted as corresponding to the "controller" in the claims. On the other hand, the control unit 160 described below may be understood to correspond to the "control unit" in the claims.

[0029] 10, which will be described later, the HO request / approval unit 150 requests another gNB 100 (gNB 100B in the figure) to transfer (HO) the UE 200 to a cell formed by the other gNB 100. The HO request / approval unit 150 also approves a request from the other gNB 100 to transfer (HO) the UE 200 to a cell formed by the HO request / approval unit 150 itself (gNB 100A in the figure).

[0030] The control unit 160 controls the gNB 100. The control unit 160 controls the operation of the transceiver unit 110, the message generation unit 120, the list generation unit 130, the HO condition setting unit 140, and the HO request / approval unit 150, for example.

[0031] The control unit 160 can form one or more cells to which the UE 200 can connect. The control unit 160 can form cells such as a cell to which the UE 200 connects (a source cell), a cell to which the UE 200 transitions (a target cell), and a candidate cell that is a candidate for the target cell. (2.2) Functional Block Configuration of Terminal As shown in FIG. 5 , the UE 200 includes a transceiver unit 210, a message generator 220, an HO execution unit 230, a model determination unit 240, a model storage unit 250, and a control unit 260.

[0032] The transceiver 210 transmits and receives radio signals to and from the gNB100. The transceiver 210 may be configured with a transmitter that transmits radio signals to the gNB100 and a receiver that receives radio signals from the gNB100. "Send" may be interpreted as "report," "notify," etc. Furthermore, "receive" may be interpreted as "set," "instruct," etc. The radio signal includes, for example, a message generated by the message generator 220. As will be described later, the message may include information indicating whether or not the learning model applied by the UE 200 to itself satisfies the application conditions (hereinafter also referred to as "applicability"). That is, the transceiver 210 can transmit information indicating whether or not the learning model is applicable.

[0033] The message generation unit 220 generates a message to be transmitted to the gNB 100. The message is, for example, RRCReconfigurationComplete. Furthermore, the message in this embodiment may be understood to include not only a Radio Resource Control (RRC) message but also a Medium Access Control Control Element (MAC CE) or Downlink Control Information (DCI). The message in this embodiment may include content related to the learning model, such as the determination result or the reason for the determination by the model determination unit 240. Details will be described in the section on operation examples.

[0034] The HO execution unit 230 autonomously executes HO based on the HO conditions previously set by the HO condition setting unit 140. That is, the HO execution unit 230 executes HO such as CHO, LTM, and subsequent mobility. Specifically, the HO execution unit 230 monitors the HO conditions and executes HO when the HO conditions are satisfied (see FIG. 7 ). An example of an HO condition is the detection of a radio link failure (RLF). The RLF detection may be realized by the HO execution unit 230 or the control unit 260.

[0035] On the other hand, the HO execution unit 230 can also perform conventional HO, i.e., request the gNB 100 to transition to the destination cell (target cell), and then execute the transition to the target cell.

[0036] The model determination unit 240 determines whether the learning model applied by the UE 200 (control unit 260) to itself is applicable. The applicability of the learning model is determined based on, for example, the environment surrounding the UE 200, the specifications of the UE 200, etc. (hereinafter, simply referred to as the environment surrounding the UE 200). The environment surrounding the UE 200 is, for example, the UE movement speed, the channel model (e.g., urban macrocell (UMa) / urban microcell (UMi)), the inter-site distance (ISD), the frequency, the BWP, the antenna port layout, and the size of the learning model.

[0037] If the learning model is applicable, the model determination unit 240 includes this information in the message described above (see FIG. 7). Also, if the learning model is not applicable, the model determination unit 240 includes this information in the message described above. Furthermore, if the learning model is not applicable, the model determination unit 240 can include the reason (cause) why the learning model is not applicable in the message described above.

[0038] The model storage unit 250 stores a learning model that the UE 200 (control unit 260) applies to itself and uses. The learning model may be pre-installed at the time of shipment, or may be installed after being received (downloaded) from the gNB 100 (see FIG. 7). The learning model optimizes processes related to, for example, Channel State Information (CSI) feedback, beam management (BM), positioning, mobility, network slicing, and QoE.

[0039] The control unit 260 controls the UE 200. The control unit 260 controls, for example, the operations of the transceiver unit 210, the message generator 220, the HO execution unit 230, the model determination unit 240, and the model storage unit 250. The control unit 260 can also execute a random access procedure with the gNB 100 (see FIG. 7 ).

[0040] The control unit 260 applies and uses a learning model that satisfies the above-described application conditions. Note that application may be interpreted as activation, switching (from the currently applied learning model), or the like. The control unit 260 may also deactivate a learning model that does not satisfy the application conditions. These switching / activation / deactivation conditions may be set in advance by the gNB 100 via an RRCReconfiguration message or the like. By using the learning model, the UE 200 can optimize processing related to Channel State Information (CSI) feedback, beam management (BM), positioning, mobility, network slicing, QoE, and the like.

[0041] Specifically, the UE 200 can reduce overhead and improve the accuracy of CSI feedback by using a learning model related to CSI feedback. Also, the UE 200 can estimate a high-quality beam at its own future position by using a learning model related to BM. Alternatively, the UE 200 can accurately estimate its own future position by using a learning model related to positioning.

[0042] (3) Operation of Wireless Communication System (3.1) Issues (3.1.1) Issue 1 The availability of a learning model applied to UE 200 may vary depending on the cell. That is, a learning model that was available in a cell from which a transition occurs (hereinafter also referred to as a source cell) may not be available in a cell to which a transition occurs (hereinafter also referred to as a target cell). However, in the case of CHO and LTM, in which a candidate cell and HO conditions are set in advance, UE 200 does not receive an HO command from gNB 100, and therefore has a problem in that it cannot know whether the learning model currently used in the target cell can continue to be used. A similar problem also exists in subsequent mobility, in which a candidate cell and HO conditions are set in advance. Examples of subsequent mobility include subsequent CHO, Conditional PSCell Change (CPC), Conditional PSCell Addition (CPA), CPA / CPC (CPAC), and inter-SN PSCell LTM, which change the primary / secondary cell (PSCell) formed by a secondary node (SN).

[0043] (3.1.2) Problem 2 Even when an HO command is sent from gNB100A, which forms a source cell, to UE200, there was a problem in that gNB100A could not determine whether the learning model used by UE200 in the source cell was also available in the target cell.

[0044] (3.2) Operational Examples (3.2.1) Operational Example 1 The gNB 100 can create a list of cells, for each learning model, by grouping cells that can use the learning model. The gNB 100 can set the cell list to the UE 200 via a message such as RRCReconfiguration. For example, in the example of the cell list shown in Figure 6, cells #1 / #2 / #3 are grouped as group #1, which are cells that can use learning models A / B / C, and cells #4 / #5 / #6 are grouped as group #2, which are cells that can use learning models E / F / G.

[0045] The format of the cell list is not limited to the example shown in Fig. 6. For example, the cell list may be a list of cells in which learning models available for each cell are grouped. In such a cell list, learning models A, B, and C may be grouped into group #1 as learning models available for cell #1, and learning models E, F, and G may be grouped into group #2 as learning models available for cell #4.

[0046] Returning to the example of Figure 6, when UE200 HOs from cell #1 to cell #2, it can continue to use the learning models A / B / C that it used in cell #1 in the destination cell #2.

[0047] On the other hand, when UE200 HOs from cell #1 to cell #4, it cannot continue to use the learning models A / B / C that it used in cell #1 in the destination cell #4. In this case, UE200 may deactivate or delete the learning models A / B / C. Note that even in this case, UE200 may maintain the learning models A / B / C.

[0048] Operation example 3 will be described in more detail with reference to FIG. 7 . First, the gNB100 transmits one or more learning models via an RRCReconfiguration message. At this time, the gNB100 may transmit various setting information related to the learning models, such as identification information of the learning model (e.g., AI model ID), mapping information linking information related to the environment in which the learning model can be used (or is preferable to use) (e.g., scenario, setting, location of use), and switching conditions for switching the learning model applied to the UE200. The UE200 may switch / disable the learning model applied to itself (and enable another learning model) by referring to the switching conditions. Furthermore, the gNB100 may transmit a list of cells in which available learning models are grouped.

[0049] In response to this, UE200 transmits, via an RRCReconfigurationComplete message, that the received learning model satisfies the application conditions. Whether the application conditions of the learning model are satisfied (hereinafter also referred to as applicability) is determined based on, for example, the environment surrounding UE200, the specifications of UE200, etc. (hereinafter simply referred to as the environment surrounding UE200). The environment surrounding UE200 is, for example, the UE movement speed, the channel model (e.g., urban macrocell (UMa) / urban microcell (UMi)), the inter-site distance (ISD), the frequency, the BWP, the antenna port layout, and the size of the learning model.

[0050] Next, UE200 monitors the pre-configured HO conditions and performs HO when the HO conditions are met (CHO in the figure). The HO conditions may be set before the RRCReconfiguration message or via the RRCReconfiguration message. When performing HO, UE200 refers to the above-mentioned cell list. When the source cell and the target cell are in the same group (e.g., when the source cell is cell #1 in FIG. 6 and the target cell is cell #2 in FIG. 6), UE200 can continue to use the learning model used in the source cell in the target cell. Finally, UE200 performs a random access procedure with gNB100 and transmits an RRCReconfigurationComplete message.

[0051] (3.2.2) Operation Example 2 (3.2.2.1) Operation Example 2-1 A gNB100 may exchange information indicating whether or not a learning model can be inherited and used in advance with another gNB100 over the Xn interface. The information may be the following: - Applicability of the learning model in the target cell (for example, this may be realized by 1 bit) - Cell configuration information (for example, channel model (e.g., UMa / UMi), ISD, frequency, BWP, antenna port arrangement (layout)) * If the configuration information of the source cell and the configuration information of the target cell are similar, it can be determined that the learning model can be inherited and used. - Identification information of the cell that can inherit and use the learning model (for example, cell ID)

[0052] This will be explained in more detail with reference to Figures 8 and 9. First, a gNB 100 (NG-RAN1 in the figure) transmits, to another gNB 100 (NG-RAN2 in the figure), via an Xn setup request or an NG-RAN NODE CONFUGURATION UPDATE message, identification information of a cell it forms, configuration information of the cell, and information related to a learning model configured in the cell, and further requests identification information of a cell that can take over the learning model and be used.

[0053] In response, another gNB100 (NG-RAN2 in the figure) sends a list of cells as shown in Figure 6 or the correspondence between cells and learning models (which learning models are available in which cells) to gNB100 (NG-RAN1 in the figure) via an Xn setup response or an NG-RAN NODE CONFUGURATION UPDATE ACKNOWLEDGE message.

[0054] (3.2.2.2) Operation Example 2-2 As shown in FIG. 10, when a source gNB 100A transmits an HO request to a target gNB 100B over the Xn interface, the source gNB 100A can inquire whether a learning model available in the source cell can continue to be used in the target cell. In this case, as in FIGS. 8 and 9, the source gNB 100A may transmit identification information of the cell it forms and configuration information for that cell (e.g., channel model (e.g., UMa / UMi), ISD, frequency, BWP, antenna port layout). In response, the target gNB 100B may reply to the source gNB 100A via an HO request Ack whether the learning model can be used. As in FIGS. 8 and 9, the specific content of the reply may be a list of cells as shown in FIG. 6, or a correspondence between cells and learning models (which learning models are available in which cells).

[0055] (3.2.2.3) Operation Example 2-3 Even when a gNB100 and another gNB100 correspond to distributed devices (DUs, gNB-DUs) in a C-RAN configuration, they can exchange information indicating whether the learning model can continue to be used, as in Figures 8 and 9. The DUs have the function of forming cells. If an interface exists between the DUs, information may be exchanged over the interface. Alternatively, as shown in Figure 11, information may be exchanged over the F1 interface via a central device (CU, gNB-CU). Note that messages over the F1 interface include, for example, UE context modification request / response and UE context setup request / response. The CU has the function of controlling the DUs. The specific content of the information exchanged is the same as in Figures 8 and 9, so a detailed description will be omitted.

[0056] Furthermore, when performing Intra CU inter DU HO, the source DU can ask the target DU via the CU on the F1 interface whether the learning model available in the source cell can continue to be used in the target cell. The target DU may respond with whether the learning model is available. The details overlap with the explanation of Operation Example 2-2 and are therefore omitted here.

[0057] (4) Actions and Effects In each of the above-described operation examples, the gNB100 can share in advance with the UE200 or another gNB100 whether the learning model can be used in the target cell. This allows the UE200 or the gNB100 to recognize whether the learning model can be taken over and used in the target cell, even in scenarios such as CHO, LTM, and subsequent mobility, in which the UE200 performs HO without communicating with the gNB100.

[0058] (5) Other Embodiments The contents of the present invention have been described above in accordance with the embodiments, but it will be obvious to those skilled in the art that the present invention is not limited to these descriptions and that various modifications and improvements are possible.

[0059] In the above disclosure, in Operation Example 1, a list of cells is exemplified as information indicating whether a learning model can be continuously used, but this is not limited thereto. For example, when there is one pre-set candidate cell, the information indicating whether a learning model can be continuously used may be a correspondence between the candidate cell and the learning model, as in Operation Example 2.

[0060] In the above disclosure, the learning model is intended to optimize processes related to Channel State Information (CSI) feedback, beam management (BM), positioning, mobility, network slicing, QoE, etc., but is not limited thereto. [0061] In the above disclosure, the term "learning model" may be replaced with another term meaning a similar model, such as an AI / ML model.

[0062] In the above disclosure, the learning model is set or transmitted by the gNB 100, but this is not limited thereto. The learning model may be set or transmitted by another configuration on the network side.

[0063] The above-described operation examples may be combined and applied in a composite manner, as long as no contradiction occurs.

[0064] In the above disclosure, configure, activate, update, indicate, enable, specify, and select may be interchangeable. Similarly, link, associate, correspond, and map may be interchangeable, and allocate, assign, monitor, and map may be interchangeable.

[0065] Furthermore, specific, dedicated, UE-specific, and UE-dedicated may be interchangeable. Similarly, common, shared, group-common, UE-common, and UE-shared may be interchangeable.

[0066] The block diagrams (FIGS. 4 and 5) used to explain the above-described embodiments show functional blocks. These functional blocks (components) are realized by any combination of hardware and / or software. Furthermore, the method for realizing each functional block is not particularly limited. That is, each functional block may be realized using a single device that is physically or logically coupled, or may be realized using two or more physically or logically separated devices that are directly or indirectly connected (e.g., wired, wireless, etc.) and these multiple devices. The functional block may be realized by combining software with the single device or multiple devices.

[0067] Functions include, but are not limited to, judgment, determination, judgment, calculation, computation, processing, derivation, investigation, search, confirmation, reception, transmission, output, access, resolution, selection, election, establishment, comparison, assumption, expectation, regard, broadcasting, notifying, communicating, forwarding, configuring, reconfiguring, allocating, mapping, and assignment. For example, a functional block (component) that performs transmission is called a transmitting unit or transmitter. As mentioned above, there are no particular limitations on how each is implemented.

[0068] Furthermore, the above-described gNB 100 and UE 200 (the devices) may function as a computer that performs processing of the wireless communication method of the present disclosure. Figure 12 is a diagram showing an example of the hardware configuration of the devices. As shown in Figure 12, the devices may be configured as a computer including a processor 1001, a memory 1002, a storage 1003, a communication device 1004, an input device 1005, an output device 1006, a bus 1007, etc.

[0069] In the following description, the term "apparatus" can be interpreted as a circuit, a device, a unit, etc. The hardware configuration of the apparatus may be configured to include one or more of the apparatuses shown in the drawings, or may be configured to exclude some of the apparatuses.

[0070] Each functional block of the device (FIGS. 4 and 5) is realized by any hardware element of the computer device or a combination of the hardware elements.

[0071] In addition, each function of the device is realized by loading specified software (programs) onto hardware such as processor 1001 and memory 1002, causing processor 1001 to perform calculations, control communication via communication device 1004, and control at least one of reading and writing data in memory 1002 and storage 1003.

[0072] The processor 1001 controls the entire computer by running, for example, an operating system, and may be configured as a central processing unit (CPU) including an interface with peripheral devices, a control unit, an arithmetic unit, and registers.

[0073] The processor 1001 also reads programs (program codes), software modules, data, etc. from at least one of the storage 1003 and the communication device 1004 into the memory 1002 and executes various processes in accordance with these. The programs used are those that cause a computer to execute at least some of the operations described in the above-described embodiments. Furthermore, the various processes described above may be executed by a single processor 1001, or may be executed simultaneously or sequentially by two or more processors 1001. The processor 1001 may be implemented by one or more chips. The programs may be transmitted from a network via a telecommunications line.

[0074] The memory 1002 is a computer-readable recording medium and may be configured by at least one of, for example, a read-only memory (ROM), an erasable programmable ROM (EPROM), an electrically erasable programmable ROM (EEPROM), a random access memory (RAM), etc. The memory 1002 may also be called a register, a cache, a main memory (primary storage device), etc. The memory 1002 may store a program (program code), a software module, etc., capable of executing a method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0075] Storage 1003 is a computer-readable recording medium, and may be, for example, at least one of an optical disk such as a Compact Disc ROM (CD-ROM), a hard disk drive, a flexible disk, a magneto-optical disk (e.g., a compact disk, a digital versatile disk, a Blu-ray disc), a smart card, a flash memory (e.g., a card, a stick, a key drive), a floppy disk, a magnetic strip, etc. Storage 1003 may also be referred to as an auxiliary storage device. The above-mentioned recording medium may be, for example, a database, a server, or other suitable medium including at least one of memory 1002 and storage 1003.

[0076] The communication device 1004 is hardware (transmission / reception device) for communicating between computers via at least one of a wired network and a wireless network, and is also called, for example, a network device, a network controller, a network card, or a communication module.

[0077] The communication device 1004 may be configured to include a high-frequency switch, a duplexer, a filter, a frequency synthesizer, etc. to realize, for example, at least one of Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) and Time Division Duplex (TDD).

[0078] The input device 1005 is an input device (e.g., a keyboard, a mouse, a microphone, a switch, a button, a sensor, etc.) that receives input from the outside. The output device 1006 is an output device (e.g., a display, a speaker, an LED lamp, etc.) that outputs to the outside. Note that the input device 1005 and the output device 1006 may be integrated into one device (e.g., a touch panel).

[0079] Furthermore, each device such as the processor 1001 and the memory 1002 is connected to a bus 1007 for communicating information. The bus 1007 may be configured using a single bus, or may be configured using different buses between each device.

[0080] Furthermore, the device may be configured to include hardware such as a microprocessor, a digital signal processor (DSP), an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC), a programmable logic device (PLD), or a field programmable gate array (FPGA), and some or all of the functional blocks may be realized by the hardware. For example, the processor 1001 may be implemented using at least one of these pieces of hardware.

[0081] Furthermore, the notification of information is not limited to the aspects / embodiments described in the present disclosure, and may be performed using other methods. For example, the notification of information may be performed by physical layer signaling (e.g., Downlink Control Information (DCI), Uplink Control Information (UCI)), higher layer signaling (e.g., RRC signaling, Medium Access Control (MAC) signaling), broadcast information (Master Information Block (MIB), System Information Block (SIB)), other signals, or a combination thereof. Furthermore, the RRC signaling may be referred to as an RRC message, and may be, for example, an RRC Connection Setup message, an RRC Connection Reconfiguration message, or the like.

[0082] Each aspect / embodiment described in the present disclosure may be applied to at least one of a system using Long Term Evolution (LTE), LTE-Advanced (LTE-A), SUPER 3G, IMT-Advanced, a 4th generation mobile communication system (4G), a 5th generation mobile communication system (5G), Future Radio Access (FRA), New Radio (NR), W-CDMA (registered trademark), GSM (registered trademark), CDMA2000, Ultra Mobile Broadband (UMB), IEEE 802.11 (Wi-Fi (registered trademark)), IEEE 802.16 (WiMAX (registered trademark)), IEEE 802.20, Ultra-WideBand (UWB), Bluetooth (registered trademark), or other suitable system, and a next-generation system enhanced based on these. Furthermore, a combination of multiple systems (e.g., a combination of at least one of LTE and LTE-A and 5G) may also be applied.

[0083] The order of the procedures, sequences, flowcharts, etc. of each aspect / embodiment described in this disclosure may be changed unless it is consistent. For example, the methods described in this disclosure present elements of various steps using an example order, and are not limited to the particular order presented.

[0084] In the present disclosure, a specific operation described as being performed by a base station may be performed by its upper node in some cases. In a network consisting of one or more network nodes having a base station, it is clear that various operations performed for communication with a terminal may be performed by at least one of the base station and another network node other than the base station (for example, an MME or an S-GW, etc., but are not limited to these). Although the above example illustrates a case where there is one other network node other than the base station, a combination of multiple other network nodes (for example, an MME and an S-GW) may also be used.

[0085] Information, signals (information, etc.) may be output from a higher layer (or a lower layer) to a lower layer (or a higher layer), or may be input / output via multiple network nodes.

[0086] The input and output information may be stored in a specific location (for example, a memory) or may be managed using a management table. The input and output information may be overwritten, updated, or added. The output information may be deleted. The input information may be transmitted to another device.

[0087] The determination may be made based on a value represented by one bit (0 or 1), a Boolean value (true or false), or a numerical comparison (e.g., comparison with a predetermined value).

[0088] The aspects / embodiments described in this disclosure may be used alone, in combination, or switched depending on the implementation. Notification of predetermined information (e.g., notification that "X is true") is not limited to explicit notification, but may be implicit (e.g., not notifying the predetermined information).

[0089] Software shall be construed broadly to mean instructions, instruction sets, code, code segments, program code, programs, subprograms, software modules, applications, software applications, software packages, routines, subroutines, objects, executable files, threads of execution, procedures, functions, etc., whether referred to as software, firmware, middleware, microcode, hardware description language, or otherwise.

[0090] Software, instructions, information, etc. may also be transmitted or received over a transmission medium. For example, if software is transmitted from a website, server, or other remote source using wired technologies (such as coaxial cable, fiber optic cable, twisted pair, Digital Subscriber Line (DSL)), and / or wireless technologies (such as infrared, microwave), then these wired and / or wireless technologies are included within the definition of transmission media.

[0091] The information, signals, etc. described in this disclosure may be represented using any of a variety of different technologies. For example, data, instructions, commands, information, signals, bits, symbols, chips, etc. that may be referred to throughout the above description may be represented by voltages, currents, electromagnetic waves, magnetic fields or magnetic particles, optical fields or photons, or any combination thereof.

[0092] Note that terms described in this disclosure and terms necessary for understanding this disclosure may be replaced with terms having the same or similar meanings. For example, at least one of a channel and a symbol may be a signal (signaling). Furthermore, a signal may be a message. Furthermore, a component carrier (CC) may be called a carrier frequency, a cell, a frequency carrier, etc.

[0093] As used in this disclosure, the terms "system" and "network" are used interchangeably.

[0094] Furthermore, the information, parameters, etc. described in the present disclosure may be expressed using absolute values, relative values from a predetermined value, or other corresponding information. For example, a radio resource may be indicated by an index.

[0095] The names used for the above-described parameters are not intended to be limiting in any way. Furthermore, the mathematical expressions using these parameters may differ from those explicitly disclosed in this disclosure. The various channels (e.g., PUCCH, PDCCH, etc.) and information elements may be identified by any suitable names, and therefore the various names assigned to these various channels and information elements are not intended to be limiting in any way.

[0096] In this disclosure, terms such as "base station (BS)," "radio base station," "fixed station," "NodeB," "eNodeB (eNB)," "gNodeB (gNB)," "access point," "transmission point," "reception point," "transmission / reception point," "cell," "sector," "cell group," "carrier," and "component carrier" may be used interchangeably. Base stations may also be referred to by terms such as macrocell, small cell, femtocell, and picocell.

[0097] A base station can accommodate one or more (e.g., three) cells (also called sectors). When a base station accommodates multiple cells, the overall coverage area of the base station can be divided into multiple smaller areas, and each smaller area can be provided with communication services by a base station subsystem (e.g., a small indoor base station (Remote Radio Head: RRH)).

[0098] The terms "cell" or "sector" refer to part or all of the coverage area of a base station and / or base station subsystem that provides communication services within that coverage area.

[0099] In this disclosure, the terms "Mobile Station (MS)," "user terminal," "User Equipment (UE)," "terminal," etc. may be used interchangeably.

[0100] A mobile station may also be referred to by those skilled in the art as a subscriber station, mobile unit, subscriber unit, wireless unit, remote unit, mobile device, wireless device, wireless communication device, remote device, mobile subscriber station, access terminal, mobile terminal, wireless terminal, remote terminal, handset, user agent, mobile client, client, or some other suitable terminology.

[0101] At least one of the base station and the mobile station may be referred to as a transmitting device, a receiving device, a communication device, etc. At least one of the base station and the mobile station may be a device mounted on a mobile object, the mobile object itself, etc. The mobile object may be a vehicle (e.g., a car, an airplane, etc.), an unmanned mobile object (e.g., a drone, an autonomous vehicle, etc.), or a robot (manned or unmanned). At least one of the base station and the mobile station may also include devices that do not necessarily move during communication operations. For example, at least one of the base station and the mobile station may be an Internet of Things (IoT) device such as a sensor.

[0102] Furthermore, a base station in the present disclosure may be read as a mobile station (user terminal, the same applies hereinafter). For example, the aspects / embodiments of the present disclosure may be applied to a configuration in which communication between a base station and a mobile station is replaced with communication between multiple mobile stations (which may be called, for example, Device-to-Device (D2D) or Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X)). In this case, the mobile station may be configured to have the functions of a base station. Furthermore, terms such as "uplink" and "downlink" may be read as terms corresponding to terminal-to-terminal communication (for example, "side"). For example, terms such as an uplink channel and a downlink channel may be read as a side channel.

[0103] Similarly, a mobile station in the present disclosure may be interpreted as a base station, in which case the base station may have the functions of a mobile station.

[0104] A radio frame may be made up of one or more frames in the time domain, each of which may be called a subframe.

[0105] A subframe may further be composed of one or more slots in the time domain, and may have a fixed time length (e.g., 1 ms) that is independent of numerology.

[0106] Numerology may be communication parameters that apply to the transmission and / or reception of a signal or channel, such as subcarrier spacing (SCS), bandwidth, symbol length, cyclic prefix length, transmission time interval (TTI), number of symbols per TTI, radio frame structure, specific filtering operations performed by the transceiver in the frequency domain, and specific windowing operations performed by the transceiver in the time domain.

[0107] A slot may consist of one or more symbols in the time domain (such as Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbols, Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) symbols, etc.) A slot may be a time unit based on numerology.

[0108] A slot may include multiple minislots. Each minislot may consist of one or multiple symbols in the time domain. A minislot may also be called a subslot. A minislot may consist of fewer symbols than a slot. A PDSCH (or PUSCH) transmitted in a time unit larger than a minislot may be called PDSCH (or PUSCH) mapping type A. A PDSCH (or PUSCH) transmitted using a minislot may be called PDSCH (or PUSCH) mapping type B.

[0109] The radio frame, subframe, slot, minislot, and symbol all represent time units for transmitting signals, and may be referred to by other names corresponding to the radio frame, subframe, slot, minislot, and symbol.

[0110] For example, one subframe may be referred to as a transmission time interval (TTI), multiple consecutive subframes may be referred to as a TTI, or one slot or one minislot may be referred to as a TTI. That is, at least one of the subframe and the TTI may be a subframe (1 ms) in existing LTE, a period shorter than 1 ms (e.g., 1-13 symbols), or a period longer than 1 ms. Note that the unit representing the TTI may be referred to as a slot, minislot, etc. instead of a subframe.

[0111] Here, TTI refers to, for example, the smallest time unit for scheduling in wireless communication. For example, in an LTE system, a base station schedules each user terminal to allocate radio resources (such as frequency bandwidth and transmission power that can be used by each user terminal) in TTI units. Note that the definition of TTI is not limited to this.

[0112] The TTI may be a transmission time unit for a channel-encoded data packet (transport block), a code block, a code word, etc., or may be a processing unit for scheduling, link adaptation, etc. When a TTI is given, the time interval (e.g., the number of symbols) to which a transport block, a code block, a code word, etc. is actually mapped may be shorter than the TTI.

[0113] In addition, when one slot or one minislot is called a TTI, one or more TTIs (i.e., one or more slots or one or more minislots) may be the minimum time unit for scheduling. Furthermore, the number of slots (minislots) constituting the minimum time unit for scheduling may be controlled.

[0114] A TTI having a time length of 1 ms may be called a regular TTI (TTI in LTE Rel. 8-12), normal TTI, long TTI, regular subframe, normal subframe, long subframe, slot, etc. A TTI shorter than a regular TTI may be called a shortened TTI, short TTI, partial or fractional TTI, shortened subframe, short subframe, minislot, subslot, slot, etc.

[0115] In addition, a long TTI (e.g., a normal TTI, a subframe, etc.) may be interpreted as a TTI having a time length of more than 1 ms, and a short TTI (e.g., a shortened TTI, etc.) may be interpreted as a TTI having a TTI length shorter than the TTI length of a long TTI and equal to or greater than 1 ms.

[0116] A resource block (RB) is a resource allocation unit in the time domain and the frequency domain, and may include one or more consecutive subcarriers in the frequency domain. The number of subcarriers included in an RB may be the same regardless of numerology, for example, 12. The number of subcarriers included in an RB may be determined based on numerology.

[0117] The time domain of an RB may include one or more symbols and may have a length of one slot, one minislot, one subframe, or one TTI. One TTI, one subframe, etc. may each be composed of one or more resource blocks.

[0118] Note that one or more RBs may also be called a physical resource block (PRB), a sub-carrier group (SCG), a resource element group (REG), a PRB pair, an RB pair, etc.

[0119] Furthermore, a resource block may be composed of one or more resource elements (REs). For example, one RE may be a radio resource region of one subcarrier and one symbol.

[0120] A Bandwidth Part (BWP) (which may also be referred to as a fractional bandwidth) may represent a subset of contiguous common resource blocks (RBs) for a given numerology on a given carrier, where the common RBs may be identified by their index relative to a common reference point of the carrier. PRBs may be defined in a given BWP and numbered within that BWP.

[0121] The BWP may include a BWP for UL (UL BWP) and a BWP for DL (DL BWP). One or more BWPs may be configured for a UE within one carrier.

[0122] At least one of the configured BWPs may be active, and the UE may not expect to transmit or receive a given signal / channel outside the active BWP. Note that the terms "cell," "carrier," etc. in this disclosure may be read as "BWP."

[0123] The above-described structures of radio frames, subframes, slots, minislots, symbols, etc. are merely examples. For example, the number of subframes included in a radio frame, the number of slots per subframe or radio frame, the number of minislots included in a slot, the number of symbols and RBs included in a slot or minislot, the number of subcarriers included in an RB, the number of symbols in a TTI, the symbol length, the cyclic prefix (CP) length, etc. may be variously changed.

[0124] The terms "connected," "coupled," or any variation thereof, refer to any direct or indirect connection or coupling between two or more elements, and may include the presence of one or more intermediate elements between two elements that are "connected" or "coupled" to each other. The coupling or connection between elements may be physical, logical, or a combination thereof. For example, "connected" may be read as "access." As used in this disclosure, two elements may be considered to be "connected" or "coupled" to each other using one or more wires, cables, and / or printed electrical connections, as well as electromagnetic energy having wavelengths in the radio frequency range, microwave range, and optical (both visible and invisible) range, as some non-limiting and non-exhaustive examples.

[0125] The reference signal may also be abbreviated as Reference Signal (RS) and may be called a pilot depending on the applicable standard.

[0126] As used in this disclosure, the phrase "based on" does not mean "based only on," unless expressly stated otherwise. In other words, the phrase "based on" means both "based only on" and "based at least on."

[0127] The "means" in the configuration of each of the above devices may be replaced with "part," "circuit," "device," etc.

[0128] As used in this disclosure, any reference to an element using a designation such as "first," "second," etc. does not generally limit the quantity or order of those elements. These designations may be used in this disclosure as a convenient method of distinguishing between two or more elements. Thus, a reference to a first and a second element does not imply that only two elements may be employed therein or that the first element must precede the second element in some way.

[0129] When the terms "include," "including," and variations thereof are used in this disclosure, these terms are intended to be inclusive, similar to the term "comprising." Furthermore, when the term "or" is used in this disclosure, it is not intended to be an exclusive or.

[0130] In this disclosure, where articles are added by translation, such as a, an, and the in English, the disclosure may include that the nouns following these articles are in the plural form.

[0131] As used in this disclosure, the terms "determining" and "determining" may encompass a wide variety of actions. "Determining" and "determining" may include, for example, judging, calculating, computing, processing, deriving, investigating, looking up, searching, inquiring (e.g., searching a table, database, or other data structure), ascertaining, and the like. "Determining" and "determining" may also include receiving (e.g., receiving information), transmitting (e.g., sending information), input, output, accessing (e.g., accessing data in memory), and the like, all of which are considered to be "determining." "Determining" and "determining" may also include resolving, selecting, choosing, establishing, comparing, and the like, all of which are considered to be "determining." In other words, "judgment" and "decision" can include regarding some action as having been "judged" or "decided." Also, "judgment (decision)" can be interpreted as "assuming," "expecting," "considering," etc.

[0132] In the present disclosure, the term "A and B are different" may mean "A and B are different from each other." The term may also mean "A and B are each different from C." Terms such as "separate" and "coupled" may also be interpreted in the same way as "different."

[0140] The communication module 2013 can communicate with the microprocessor 2031 and components of the vehicle 1 via the communication port. For example, the communication module 2013 transmits and receives data via the communication port 2033 to and from a driving unit 2002, a steering unit 2003, an accelerator pedal 2004, a brake pedal 2005, a shift lever 2006, left and right front wheels 2007, left and right rear wheels 2008, an axle 2009, a microprocessor 2031 and memory (ROM, RAM) 2032 in the electronic control unit 2010, and sensors 2021 to 2028, which are provided in the vehicle 2001.
