Description

dehumidifier

[0001] The present invention relates to a dehumidifier.

[0002] A dehumidifier is a device that lowers the humidity in a space where it is installed by sucking in air, removing the moisture contained in the air, and then discharging the dehumidified air back into the room.

[0003] In general, dehumidifiers are widely used to lower the humidity of indoor air during humid summers or to dry laundry quickly.

[0004] Dehumidifiers are categorized into desiccant and condensation types, depending on their dehumidification method. A condensation type dehumidifier can be described as one in which a refrigerant cycle is installed within the dehumidifier, and air drawn in by a fan passes through an evaporator, condensing the moisture contained in the air. The air is then heated and discharged back into the room as it passes through the condenser.

[0005] Conventional dehumidifiers are generally designed to collect condensate generated during the dehumidification process in a water tank and to discard the condensate that fills the water tank, as disclosed in the prior art below.

[0041] Fig. 14 is a longitudinal cross-sectional view of a dehumidifier taken along line 14-14 of Fig. 3.

[0042] Hereinafter, a dehumidifier equipped with a so-called humidifying function according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.

[0043] Fig. 1 is a front perspective view of a dehumidifier according to an embodiment of the present invention, and Fig. 2 is a rear perspective view of the dehumidifier.

[0044] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a dehumidifier (10) according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a housing including a base (11), a case (12), and a top cover (13), a dehumidification module (described later) installed inside the housing, and a water tank (20) for storing condensate generated during the dehumidification process.

[0045] In detail, a number of wheels (16) are mounted on the bottom surface of the base (11) to facilitate movement of the dehumidifier (10). In addition, the case (12) is erected on the upper edge of the base (11), and the upper opening of the case (12) is shielded by the top cover (13).

[0046] In addition, a suction grill (121) for sucking indoor air is formed on the back surface of the case (12), and a filter module is mounted in front of the suction grill (121).

[0047] In addition, a discharge port (131) through which dehumidified air is discharged is formed on one side of the top cover (13), and the discharge port (131) is selectively opened and closed by the discharge cover (14). The discharge cover (14) includes a diffusion part (142) that diffuses the discharged air in all directions, and a cover part (141) placed on the upper surface of the diffusion part (142). The diffusion part (142) may be formed in a trumpet shape whose diameter increases toward the top, and the cover part (141) may be formed in a circular shape, but is not limited thereto.

[0048] A handle (15) is mounted on one edge of the top cover, and the handle (15) is formed in an n-shape so that the vertical portion can be inserted into the case (12) or withdrawn from the case (12). In addition, when the vertical portion is inserted to the maximum extent into the case (12), the upper surface of the horizontal portion of the handle (15), i.e., the portion to be held by hand, can form the same plane as the top cover (13).

[0049] A cutout is formed on one edge of the case (12) into which the water tank (20) is inserted, and the water tank (20) is detachable from the case (12). In addition, when the water tank (20) is mounted on the case (12), the outer surface of the water tank (20) forms a part of the case (12).

[0050] Meanwhile, the dehumidification module installed inside the case (12) (or housing) includes a compressor (31) that compresses refrigerant, a condenser (32) that condenses the refrigerant that has passed through the compressor (31), an expansion valve that expands the refrigerant that has passed through the condenser into a two-phase refrigerant, an evaporator (33) that evaporates the refrigerant that has passed through the expansion valve, and a fan module (34) that sucks indoor air through the suction grill (121). In addition, the evaporator (33) is positioned in front of the suction grill (121), the condenser (32) is positioned in front of the evaporator (33), and the fan module (34) is positioned in front of the condenser (32).

[0051] The above condenser (32) and evaporator (33) are mounted on the upper surface of a drain pan (35). Then, the condensate flowing down from the surface of the evaporator (33) flows along the drain pan (35) and is collected in the water tank (20).

[0052] The discharge port (131) is located directly above the discharge port of the fan module (34), so that air sucked into the fan module (34) passes sequentially through the suction grill (121), the filter, the evaporator (33), and the condenser (32) and is discharged through the discharge port (131).

[0053] The air that flows into the case (12) through the suction grill (121) is dehumidified as it passes through the evaporator (33), and the moisture contained in the air is condensed. As a result, the suction air becomes a low-temperature, dry state as it passes through the evaporator (33). The low-temperature, dry air absorbs heat as it passes through the condenser (32), and as a result, it is changed into a high-temperature, dry state, and then discharged back into the room through the discharge port (131). Here, the high-temperature air can be understood as air that has a temperature slightly higher than the temperature of the indoor space in which the dehumidifier (10) is installed.

[0054] Meanwhile, a control box (17) for controlling the operation of the dehumidifying module and various driving means is accommodated inside the case (12).

[0055] Fig. 3 is a perspective view showing the internal structure of a dehumidifier with the case removed, Fig. 4 is a perspective view of the dehumidifier with the base and drain pan removed from the state of Fig. 3, and Fig. 5 is an exploded perspective view of the dehumidifier shown in Fig. 4.

[0056] Referring to FIGS. 3 to 5, the drain pan (35) is erected on the upper surface of the base (11), and the water tank (20) is placed on the upper surface of the base (11) corresponding to one edge of the drain pan (35).

[0057] In addition, the fan module (34) is mounted and supported on the upper surface of the drain pan (35), and a steam guide (50) is connected to the upper surface of the water tank (20). The steam guide (50) may be designed to surround a portion of the outer circumference of the fan module (34). The steam guide (50) performs the function of guiding the atomized steam generated in the water tank (20) into the interior of the fan module (34). Therefore, the atomized steam generated in the water tank (20) passes through the steam guide (50) and is guided into the interior of the fan module (34), and is discharged into the room together with the indoor air sucked in by the fan module (34).

[0058] In the humidifying mode that supplies vaporized steam to the room, the compressor (31) may not operate.

[0059] The above discharge cover (14) is provided to be movable inside the case (12), and when the dehumidification mode or humidification mode is selected, it rises to open the discharge port (131) of the top cover (13).

[0060] In detail, the fan module (34) includes a fan housing (341) in which a fan (not shown) is accommodated. An intake port (3411) is formed on one side of the front or rear of the fan housing (341), and a fan motor is mounted on the other side. In addition, the condenser (32) and the evaporator (33) are arranged on the side of the intake port (3411).

[0061] In addition, a discharge port (3412) is formed on the upper surface of the fan housing (341), and the discharge port (3412) is located directly below the discharge port (131) of the top cover (13). A grid-shaped grill may be formed on the discharge port (3412), but is not limited thereto.

[0062] And, a communication hole (3413) is formed on the side adjacent to the discharge port of the fan housing (341). Specifically, the portion where the communication hole (3413) is formed is formed in a portion extending in the tangential direction of the fan so that air rotating by the fan is discharged toward the discharge port (3412).

[0063] In more detail, the side surface of the fan housing (341) can be divided into a curved portion that is rounded at a predetermined curvature on the outside of the fan, and a straight portion that extends in a straight shape from the end of the curved portion toward the outlet (3412). On the inside of the curved portion of the fan housing (341), centrifugal force is generated as the air being sucked rotates together with the fan, and on the straight portion, the air that was rotating together with the fan rises and rises toward the outlet (3412).

[0064] In addition, the communication hole (3413) is formed at the end of the curved portion so that steam flowing into the fan housing (341) through the communication hole (3413) can be guided to the discharge port (3412) while minimizing the phenomenon of steam sticking to the surface of the fan.

[0065] Figure 6 is a side perspective view of the steam guide, and Figure 7 is a bottom perspective view of the steam guide.

[0066] Referring to FIGS. 6 and 7, the steam guide (50) is in close contact with one surface of the fan housing (341), and a steam path is formed inside.

[0067] In detail, one side of the steam guide (50) can be in close contact with a point where the curved portion changes to a straight portion on the side surface of the fan housing (341) or a point adjacent to the end of the curved portion. That is, a part of the steam guide (50) can be in close contact with the curved portion of the fan housing (341) and the remaining part can be in close contact with the straight portion of the fan housing (341).

[0068] In addition, a steam inlet (501) is formed on the bottom surface of the steam guide (50), and a steam outlet (502) is formed on the surface that is in close contact with the fan housing (341). Then, when the steam guide (50) is in close contact with the fan housing (341), the steam outlet (502) communicates with the communication hole (3413) of the fan housing (341). Therefore, the steam flowing into the steam inlet (501) moves along the steam path and is discharged through the steam outlet (502). The steam discharged through the discharge hole (502) flows into the inside of the fan housing (341) through the communication hole (3413).

[0069] Figure 8 is a perspective view of the base.

[0070] Referring to Fig. 8, the upper surface of the base (11) can be divided into a water tank mounting portion (111) on which the water tank (20) is placed, a compressor mounting portion (112) on which the compressor (31) is placed, and a control box receiving portion (113) on which the control box (17) is placed.

[0071] In detail, the water tank mounting portion (111) is equipped with a vibrator deck (115) from which a contact pin (116) protrudes. In addition, a water tank support protrusion (114) protrudes from the edge of the water tank mounting portion (111) to support the lower edge of the water tank (20), thereby preventing the water tank (20) from being separated from the base (11).

[0072] Fig. 9 is a plan perspective view of a water tank, Fig. 10 is a bottom perspective view of the water tank, and Fig. 11 is an exploded perspective view of the water tank.

[0073] Referring to FIGS. 9 to 11, the water tank (20) for storing condensate includes a tank body (21), a tank cover (25) covering the upper surface of the tank body (21), a tank handle (22) coupled to the tank cover (25), and a vibrator (24) mounted on the lower surface of the tank body (21).

[0074] In detail, the vibrator (24) includes an ultrasonic generator that generates ultrasonic waves. When the water tank (20) is mounted on the water tank mounting portion (111), the contact pin (116) comes into contact with the contact terminal (241) formed on the vibrator (24), and power is supplied to the vibrator (24).

[0075] A cover hole (253) is formed in the above tank cover (25), and an upper cover (26) can be rotatably mounted in the cover hole (253) around a cover hinge (261). A user can turn the upper cover (26) over and empty the condensed water stored inside the tank body (21) while the cover hole (253) is open by turning the water tank (20) over. Conversely, the user can fill the tank body (21) with water for humidification through the cover hole (253) by turning the upper cover (26).

[0076] In addition, a connecting hole (261) is formed in the upper cover (26) to which the lower part of the steam guide (50) is connected. The bottom surface of the steam guide (50) is in contact with the connecting hole (261), so that the steam inlet (501) and the connecting hole (261) are connected.

[0077] In addition, the connecting hole (261) can be selectively opened and closed by the damper module (29). In detail, the damper module (29) includes a damper motor (291) installed in the upper cover (26) and a damper (292) connected to the shaft of the damper motor (291). The damper (292) is made to have the same size as the connecting hole (261), and opens or closes the connecting hole (261).

[0078] Additionally, both ends of the tank handle (22) can be rotatably connected to the tank cover (25), and the part that the user holds can be formed round in an arch shape.

[0079] A drain guide (251) may be formed recessed at the rear end of the tank cover (25). The drain guide (251) may be formed to be inclined so as to become lower from one end to the other end. In addition, a drain hole (252) may be formed at the other end of the drain guide (251). The drain hole formed in the drain pan (35) is positioned directly above the drain guide (251), so that condensate falling into the drain pan (35) can be collected into the water tank (20) through the drain hole (252).

[0080] Meanwhile, a drain pipe (27) may be extended from the bottom of the drain hole (252). The drain pipe (27) may be extended upward from the bottom of the tank body (21) to a point spaced a predetermined height apart.

[0081] A water level sensor (28) may be mounted on the outer surface of the end of the drain pipe (27), and the water level sensor (28) may be understood as a low water level sensor. In addition, the vibrator (24) may be controlled to be operable from the time the water level of the condensate is detected by the water level sensor (28).

[0082] In detail, the operation of the vibrator (24) is enabled only when the minimum water level inside the tank body (21) is higher than the water level sensor (28), thereby preventing vapor in an atomized state generated by the operation of the vibrator (24) from being discharged to the outside of the water tank (20) through the drain pipe (27) and the drain hole (252).

[0083] In addition, a floater (212) is mounted on the inner surface of the tank body (21), and the floater (212) can be understood as a water level sensor. In addition, when the water level is detected by the floater (212), the dehumidifying operation is stopped, thereby preventing the phenomenon of condensate overflowing from the water tank (20).

[0084] Figure 12 is a plan perspective view of the drain pan, and Figure 13 is a bottom perspective view of the drain pan.

[0085] Referring to FIGS. 12 and 13, the drain pan (35) includes a module supporter (351) that is placed horizontally inside the case (12) of the dehumidifier (10), and a pair of support legs extending from the bottom surface of the module supporter (351). The pair of support legs are connected to the upper surface of the base (11).

[0086] In detail, the pair of support legs includes a water tank enclosure (352) extending from one side of the module supporter (351) and a control box supporter (353) extending from the other side of the module supporter (351).

[0087] The water tank enclosure (352) and the control box support (353) are spaced apart from each other in the longitudinal direction of the module supporter (351). The water tank (20) is arranged on the outer surface of the water tank enclosure (352), and the control box (17) is mounted on the outer surface of the control box support (352).

[0088] Additionally, the compressor (31) is placed between the water tank enclosure (352) and the control box support (353).

[0089] Meanwhile, a fan mounting portion (3511) is formed in a recessed manner on the upper surface of the module supporter (351), so that the lower portion of the fan module (34) is mounted thereon.

[0090] In addition, a heat exchanger mounting portion (3512) is defined at a point adjacent to the fan mounting portion (3511) in the width direction of the module supporter (351). The condenser (32) and the evaporator (33) are placed on the heat exchanger mounting portion (3512). In addition, a plurality of support ribs (3513) are formed on the heat exchanger mounting portion (3512) so that the bottoms of the condenser (32) and the evaporator (33) are spaced apart from the bottom of the module supporter (351).

[0091] Additionally, a drain groove (3514) is formed in a sunken manner at the bottom of the heat exchanger mounting portion (3512). In detail, one end of the drain groove (3514) is formed to be inclined lower than the other end, and a drain hole (3515) is formed at the other end of the drain groove (3514).

[0092] In addition, the plurality of support ribs (3513) extend in the length direction of the module supporter (351) and are spaced apart in the width direction so that condensate falling from the surface of the evaporator (33) to the bottom of the heat exchanger mounting portion (3512) is guided to the drain groove (3514). In addition, the condensate guided to the drain groove (3514) flows toward the drain hole (3515).

[0093] A drain port (3517) may be extended from the bottom surface of the module supporter (351) corresponding directly below the drain groove (3514). One end of the drain port (3517) may be connected to the drain hole (3515), and may be extended in a downward slant toward the other end.

[0094] And, the other end of the drain port (3517) may be positioned directly above the drain guide (251) formed on the upper surface of the water tank (20). Accordingly, the condensate discharged through the drain hole (3515) flows along the drain port (3517), and the condensate falling from the drain port (3517) is collected into the water tank (20) through the drain guide (251) and the drain hole (252).

[0095] A communication hole (3516) is formed on one edge of the module supporter (351), specifically, on the edge where the water tank (20) is located. The communication hole (3516) is a hole through which the lower part of the steam guide (50) passes, and can be understood as a hole that allows the lower end of the steam guide (50) to be connected to the upper surface of the water tank (20).

[0096] Fig. 14 is a longitudinal cross-sectional view of a dehumidifier taken along line 14-14 of Fig. 3.

[0097] Referring to Fig. 14, when the water tank (20) is installed on the base (11), the contact pin (116) of the vibrator deck (115) comes into contact with the contact terminal (241) of the vibrator (24), and power is supplied to the vibrator (24).

[0098] In this state, when a humidification mode command is input through the command input unit provided in the dehumidifier (10), the damper module (29) operates so that the damper (292) opens the connection hole (261). Then, the vibrator (24) operates so as to vibrate the water stored inside the water tank (20) to generate vaporized steam.

[0099] In addition, the bottom of the tank body (21) can be inclined downward toward the vibrator (24), so that the condensate falling through the condensate pipe (27) can be collected by the vibrator (24). In addition, when the level of the condensate collected inside the tank body (21) is lower than the height of the water level sensor (28), the vibrator (24) can be prevented from operating even if the humidification mode command is input. At the same time, a message indicating that the amount of water for humidification inside the water tank (20) is insufficient can be output in text or voice form.

[0100] Meanwhile, the steam that has entered the interior of the steam guide (50) through the steam inlet (501) of the steam guide (50) is introduced into the interior of the fan housing (341) through the steam outlet (502) and the communication hole (2413), and then is discharged indoors through the outlet (3412). The steam discharged upward from the outlet (3412) is horizontally diffused by the diffusion portion (142) of the discharge cover (14). And, since the diffusion portion (142) is formed in a trumpet shape, the steam is dispersed in all directions.

[0101] Here, when the humidification operation starts, it is preferable that the fan module (34) be driven together so that the steam flowing into the fan housing (341) does not flow back toward the fan blades but is discharged directly to the discharge port (3412).

[0102] In addition, it is recommended to set the rotation speed of the fan module (34) so that the steam discharged through the discharge port (3412) can be recognized by the user's eyes, and the rotation speed of the fan module (34) at this time may be different from the rotation speed of the fan module (34) during dehumidification operation.

[0103] In addition, it is preferable that the fan module (34) be stopped after operating for a set period of time from the point at which the humidifying operation is terminated, thereby preventing moisture from flowing into the fan housing (341) and allowing moisture on the inner surface of the discharge port side of the fan housing (341) to be sufficiently dried.

[0104] Meanwhile, when the condensate stored in the water tank (20) is not sufficient due to dry air in winter, the user can separate the water tank (20) from the base (11) and fill the water tank (20) with water.
