Abstract
Description
[0001] Title : EQUIPMENT FOR SPORTS AND GYMNICS ACTIVITY."
[0002] DESCRIPTION
[0003] The subject matter of the present patent application is an improved physical activity device designed to make the practice of a series of exercises more functional and feasible, said device being characteristic in that it includes at least one accessory cable through which at least one first pulley can be simultaneously associated with at least one second pulley so as to accomplish a series of movements .
[0004] Scope of application
[0005] The invention that is the subject of this patent application has application in the field of manufacturing tools for performing a variety of physical exercises, particularly tools that include means such as weights, elastic elements, hydraulic pistons or the like to exert resistance that enables the performance of the exercise itself. Description of the state of the art
[0006] In the state of the art, there are known gymnastic equipment used for various types of workouts that train the various parts of the body through traction exercises with resistance represented by a weight pack, spring or elastic resistance, hydraulic resistance, or other .
[0007] Conventionally, devices of the cable, hercoline or crossover cable machine type known by the term "crossover" are fitness equipment consisting of a metal frame equipped with a series of pulleys and sliding cables, to which various accessories, such as handles or bars, are attached. By gripping the handles or bars, the user can perform a wide variety of movements, such as pulls, thrusts, lifts, rotations, lunges, and many others, taking advantage of the resistance offered by the load placed on the cables. Thanks to the versatility of this equipment, it is possible to work on multiple muscle groups and perform exercises ranging from those for toning, muscle mass development, endurance, speed, and then, increasingly, for exercises used in rehabilitation and physiotherapy protocols.
[0008] Specifically, a particular category of machines at the cables consists of a vertical sliding system to be able to adjust and lock i the position of the pulley or pulleys - which are the origin of the traction point - at any position along the entire length of the sliding bar, so as to vary the height of the positioning of the pulley or pulleys, and thus the possible working angles.
[0009] In this description, the term "pulley" or "pulleys" means the part or parts of the machine from which the end of the cable exits.
[0010] Such pulleys can be fixed but can also be movable and rotate, allowing the cable to be operated from multiple directions.
[0011] Depending on the composition of the joints and the lengths of the various transmission segments, cable machines can offer different yield ratios, most frequently 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3, depending also on the weights used. This, for example, allows, by opting for the 1: 3 transmission ratio, a long traction cable travel while offering less load resistance.
[0012] In the case of using devices of the known type without the aid of a bench, the user is not bound with the body in one position while performing the exercise. This allows the possibility of easily varying exercises and working angles and obliges the user to maintain a certain balance and thus be able to put more stress on individual muscle groups. The working combinations turn out to be manifold. Following are some examples of use.
[0013] Conventionally, at the cable end of a classic cable machine it is possible to attach, usually by means of a carabiner, an accessory such as: handles, bars, chains, eye hooks, belts and other types of supports and equipment used to lift loads using the upper or lower limbs. In addition, the use of ankle straps can be introduced for training the legs and buttocks. The use of ankle braces allows the performance of multiple lower limb exercises (extensions, adductions, and abductions to train adductors, abductors, quadriceps, and glutes) . Use in conjunction with a bench allows other variables of positions and thus exercises. Training abdominals and obliques is possible by changing body position from upright to bent at the knees.
[0014] The disadvantages of the cable machines known to date are the limited points in space - pulleys - from which resistance can originate, z large footprint, difficulty or impossibility - since they are not designed for this purpose - of connecting two different pulleys to obtain, on the same cable, no longer one point of traction only but two, allowing a less constrained and more functional movement.
[0015] For example, patent application US2022331639 describes a sports activity structure comprising an upper horizontal bar and two vertical side bars.
[0016] According to the invention described to the above-mentioned document, the upper horizontal bar includes a plurality of zones, each of which is configured to receive a first cable at the initial end of the first cable, and each of the two vertical rods includes a slider configured to receive a second cable at the initial end of the second cable. The solution described in the aforementioned document requires the construction of a structure comprising along each vertical bar, each bar including a weight assembly associated with a sliding trolley in turn associated with each side bar, said structure further comprising a transverse element presenting a series of openings corresponding to the position selected by the user for the association of the end of a cable independent of the weight pack or resistance system used for the other end of the cable. While appreciable as a solution in terms of the aspect of allowing the execution of a series of movements, the structure thus created is particularly complex in terms of implementation because it requires a dual weight group and consequent duplication of the elements associated with each weight group.
[0017] In addition, the execution of individual exercises by means of selecting the positioning of the cable end on the transverse element necessarily requires articulated processing of the transverse element itself in addition to increasing the complexity of connecting the cable end.
[0018] Patent application US8727952 describes a structure for performing a series of movements, said movements being determined by the choice of the position of a series of pulleys slidingly associated with the elements constituting the apparatus itself. Specifically, the structure described in Document D2 consists of a pair of quadrangular frames mutually spaced and superiorly associated by means of a pair of transverse elements.
[0019] According to the above-mentioned document, the frame comprises a set of hollow, straight tubular elements, each element preferably having a square cross-section in which a first frame consists of vertical front elements, left and right, the upper ends of which are joined by a horizontal front crossbar, and a second frame consists of an upper crossbar arranged parallel and posterior to the front crossbar of the first frame, the opposite ends of which are joined to the front crossbar of the first frame by a parallel pair of laterally spaced upper reinforcing elements. The second frame also includes two vertical elements, left and right, each extending from a lower end to an upper end, said upper ends being attached to opposite ends of the upper cross bar of the second frame.
[0020] The second frame inferiorly includes a horizontal support element of a weight assembly that joins the lower ends of the left and right elements .
[0021] Specifically, the left and right vertical elements of the first frame and the reinforcing elements located at the lower ends of the first and second frames have a series of openings to which the user can associate at least one pulley, which is in turn associated with the weight group on the second frame through a second set of pulleys. The variety of exercises that can be performed is therefore determined by moving the pulleys by predetermined positions, corresponding to the openings on the first frame of the structure. The invention described at the aforementioned document contemplates the same type of solution-namely, placement of the end of the cable in a position determined by the presence of appropriate openings made along the structure of the first frame-describing a solution that is particularly articulated and complex in terms of implementation .
[0022] The purpose of the invention that is the subject of this patent application is therefore to solve the disadvantages of the state of the art, in particular by making a apparatus that allows a high degree of freedom with regard to the positioning in space of the points of origin of resistance so as to offer the end user, as well as the technician or physiotherapist or trainer, the possibility of selecting them according to the type of exercise or movement to be performed .
[0023] Further purpose of the invention that is the subject of this patent application is to make a device for sporting activity that includes means to connect at least two different sets of pulleys together allowing for two or more traction points on the same cable.
[0024] Further purpose of the invention that is the subject of this patent application is to make a device for sports activity that enables a range of actions while maintaining a small space footprint.
[0025] This and further purposes will be achieved by means of the sports activity apparatus as well as to the main claim and secondary claims. Brief description of the Figures
