Description

“CUP FOR MONITORING LIQUID INTAKE VOLUME”.

[0001] This utility model application refers to a cup for monitoring the daily water intake required by humans with three fundamental pieces of information, namely an ml scale to inform the fractional volume of the cup, a table for calculating the daily volume of water intake required according to the individual's age and weight, and a circular event marker, similar to a clock, numbered in positions to be reached by a hand that moves manually in a clockwise direction, being moved by the user each time he or she consumes a cup with the calculated volume, aiming to solve a problem that causes countless problems in public health, such as the low, excessive and, at times, imperceptible consumption of water by the population in general, which, over the years, causes irreparable damage to the body.

[0002] In order to define the state of the art regarding this subject, there are several similar examples, but none yet on the market equipped with instruments to inform the user of the personal consumption of water volume that he needs to drink daily and a practical way to monitor this intake throughout the day. With the three indicators that are present on the cup, one has the necessary information and the correct and simple method to obtain the definitive solution to this serious problem that is of fundamental importance for public health.

[0003] It should be noted that dehydrated people have a lower blood volume than normal, which compromises the functioning of organs, especially the heart. A lack of water can cause weakness, dizziness, headache, fatigue and, if it lasts for a long time, can lead to death.

[0004] Especially for the elderly, the concept of an improved cup for monitoring the volume of liquid intake is even more important, as they often do not feel thirsty and forget to drink water throughout the day, while still complaining of dry mouth, forgetfulness, fatigue and discouragement, without, however, having access to an instrument that can, in a simple way, measure and report the deficient and prolonged intake of water in the body.

[0005] Aiming to come up with a new proposal, differentiating itself from the device representing the state of the art, the present “CUP FOR MONITORING LIQUID INTAKE VOLUME” was developed, which, in order to achieve a more dynamic reading of this text, will be referred to, from now on, only as “CUP”.

[0006] Below, the drawings will be described and will be detailed later.

[0007] Fig. 1 shows the present “CUP” in front view.

[0008] Fig. 2 shows the present “CUP” in rear view.

[0009] Fig. 3 shows the present “CUP” in side view.

[0010] According to the drawings, the present “CUP” is composed of a cup (1) made of translucent material equipped with a circular event marker (2) with n positions (3), similar to a clock, in which a pointer (4) is moved manually, preferably in a clockwise direction; a table (5) to calculate the daily amount of water (preferably in ml) to be ingested according to the age group (in years) and weight (in kg) of the user and a vertical numerical scale (6) with n positions (7), preferably in ml.

[0011] Thus, the present “CUP”, through the marker (2), helps the user to mark so as not to forget how many glasses of water he should drink throughout the day. The table (4) provides guidance on calculating the amount of water (preferably in ml) for each kilogram of body weight, according to the user’s age group. In addition, the scale vertical numeric (5), preferably in ml, guides how to add the correct amount of water to be ingested in each dose.

[0012] With this “GLASS”, in a simple and immediate way, in the office, leisure or at home, the person has, throughout the day, vital information for their health, such as the amount of water ingested so far and how much is left to reach the ideal number of glasses to be ingested.

[0013] This “CUP” solves, in an unprecedented way, an important problem which is to keep people aware of a fundamental aspect for bodily health and, at the same time, simply and without great costs, which is the volume of water to be ingested throughout the day.

[0014] In the fast-paced world of modern life, this “CUP” is of inestimable value, as it aims to offer the population a simple, low-cost, high-quality object that, once included in daily routines, will bring incalculable benefits to public health. It is very important to remember that it is easy to manufacture, even on a large scale, and can come in a multitude of models, including a digital marker to replace the manual one initially adopted here to reduce costs and thus benefit a much larger number of people.

[0015] In conclusion, it can be stated that the present “CUP FOR MONITORING LIQUID INTAKE VOLUME”, due to its set of technological innovations, meets all the conditions to apply for the granting of the Utility Model Patent.
