Description

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATIC INSURANCE CLAIMTECHNICAL FIELDThe non-limiting and example embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to the field of insurance claims, and specifically to the method and system for automatic insurance claims.BACKGROUNDThis section introduces aspects that may facilitate a better understanding of the disclosure. Accordingly, the statements of this section are to be read in this light and are not to be understood as explicit admissions about what is in the prior art or what is not in the prior art.Insurance is a means of protection from financial loss. It is a form of risk management, primarily used to hedge against the risk of a contingent or uncertain loss. An insurance-providing entity is often known as an insurer or insurance company. A person or entity that purchases insurance is known as an insured or, alternatively, as a policyholder. The transaction involves the insured providing payment to the insurer in exchange for the insurer's promise to compensate the insured in the event of a covered loss. The loss typically involves something in which the insured has an insurable interest established by ownership, possession, and / or a pre-existing relationship. The insured receives a contract, known as an insurance policy, which details the conditions and circumstances under which the insurer will compensate the insured. The amount of money charged by the insurer for the coverage established in the insurance policy is called the premium. If the insured experiences a loss which is potentially covered by the insurance policy, the insured submits a claim to the insurance company for processing.With the improvement of social living standards, in order to reduce the risks of various accidents that may occur in daily life, more and more people choose to purchase insurance, such as personal accident insurance, aviation delay insurance, and so on. When an insured accident occurs to the object of the policy, the requester (such as the insured or beneficiary) can file an insurance claim request to the insurance company, requesting that the insurance company make compensation according to the terms of the policy.The general claim settlement procedures for all types of insurance require the requester to submit various relevant claim materials to the insurance company, and the insurance company will review the materials and pay the compensation to the insurer only when the materials meet the conditions of the policy. Therefore, the general insurance claim settlement procedures not only have a long review cycle, but also require the requester to collect and submit claim materials by themselves, resulting in cumbersome procedures and affecting the user experience.To improve the general insurance claim settlement procedures, some methods for automatic insurance claim have emerged. For example, a patent application CN112767175A proposes an automatic insurance claim settlement method based on a blockchain smart contract, and the method comprises the steps: constructing a corresponding smart contract when a user purchases an insurance, and carrying out the storage on the chain; judging whether the claim settlement is needed or not according to information transmitted by related nodes in the blockchain, and if yes, notifying a claim settlement server to perform payment and claim settlement; and enabling the claim settlement server to receive the claim settlement information and carrying out compensation payment.SUMMARYHowever, the inventors of the present disclosure find the current methods for automatic insurance claims still are not efficient and not convenient and to implement.For example, the above method proposed by CN112767175A needs multiple related nodes to transmit monitoring data to trigger claim filing, for example, for automatic claims for flight delay insurance, the relevant nodes are flight business system nodes, and the monitoring data is flight delay information; for the automatic claim settlement of medical insurance, the relevant nodes are hospital medical record nodes, and the monitoring data is medical record visit information (please see e.g., paragraph

[0031] of the description of D1) .To resolve or alleviate at least the above problem, the inventors of the present disclosure conceive of a solution for automatic insurance claim, in which an automatic insurance system will review one or more payment records of a customer of an insurance and file an insurance claim for the customer automatically, if the one or more payment records involve one or more events covered by the insurance. To trigger claim filing automatically, the solution needs payment records from only a payment card system, without requiring multiple related nodes to monitor data and transmit data, thus it is efficient and convenient to implement.According to the first aspect of the solution, the object is achieved by a method performed by an automatic insurance system to automatically file insurance claim. The method includes: accepting a purchase of an insurance and a registration of a payment card number from a customer; obtaining authorization from a payment card system to provide one or more payment records related to the payment card number during the insurance period; receiving the one or more payment records from the payment card system; and filing insurance claim for one or more events, in response to determining that the one or more events are involved by the one or more payment records and covered by the insurance.According to the second aspect of the solution, the object is achieved by an automatic insurance system to automatically file insurance claims. The automatic insurance system includes: an accepting module, for accepting a purchase of an insurance and a registration of a payment card number from a customer; an obtaining module, for obtaining authorization from a payment card system to provide one or more payment records related to the payment card number during the insurance period; a receiving module, for receiving the one or more payment records from the payment card system; a filing module, for filing insurance claim for one or more events, in response to determining that the one or more events are involved by the one or more payment records and covered by the insurance.According to the third aspect of the solution, the object is achieved by an automatic insurance system. The automatic insurance system comprises: a processor; and a memory, having stored instructions that when executed by the processor cause the automatic insurance system to perform the method according to the first aspect.According to the fourth aspect of the present disclosure, the object is achieved by a machine-readable medium having stored thereon instructions that when executed on an automatic insurance system cause the automatic insurance system to perform the method according to the first aspect.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGSThe above and other aspects, features, and benefits of the present disclosure will become more fully apparent from the following detailed description with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which like reference numerals or letters are used to designate like or equivalent elements. The drawings are illustrated to facilitate better understanding of the embodiments of the disclosure and are not necessarily drawn to scale, in which:Figure 1 illustrates a flowchart of the method according to the present disclosure;Figure 2 shows an example scenario where the method according to the present disclosure is applied;Figure 3 is a schematic block diagram of an automatic insurance system according to the present disclosure;Figure 4 is another schematic block diagram of an automatic insurance system according to the present disclosure.DETAILED DESCRIPTIONEmbodiments herein will be described more fully hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings. The embodiments herein may, however, be embodied in many different forms and should not be construed as limiting the scope of the appended claims.The terminology used herein is for the purpose of describing particular embodiments only and is not intended to be limiting. As used herein, the singular forms "a" , "an" and "the" are intended to include the plural forms as well, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. It will be further understood that the terms "comprises" "comprising, " "includes" and / or "including" when used herein, specify the presence of stated features, integers, steps, operations, elements, and / or components, but do not preclude the presence or addition of one or more other features, integers, steps, operations, elements, components, and / or groups thereof.Also, use of ordinal terms such as “first, ” “second, ” “third, ” etc., herein to modify an element does not by itself connote any priority, precedence, or order of one element over another or the temporal order in which acts of a method are performed, but are used merely as labels to distinguish one element having a certain name from another element having a same name (but for use of the ordinal term) to distinguish the elements.Unless otherwise defined, all terms (including technical and scientific terms) used herein have the same meaning as commonly understood. It will be further understood that terms used herein should be interpreted as having a meaning that is consistent with their meaning in the context of this specification and the relevant art and will not be interpreted in an idealized or overly formal sense unless expressly so defined herein.A flowchart of a method 100 performed by an automatic insurance system to automatically file insurance claim is shown in figure 1. The method 100 comprises: a step 101 of accepting a purchase of an insurance and a registration of a payment card number from a customer; a step 102 of obtaining authorization from a payment card system to provide one or more payment records related to the payment card number during the insurance period; a step 103 of receiving the one or more payment records from the payment card system; and a step 104 of filing insurance claim for one or more events, in response to determining that the one or more events are involved by the one or more payment records and covered by the insurance.Now, specific embodiments and examples will be described in connection with an example scenario of figure 2. It can be understood that, although the example scenario is related to a travel insurance, the examples / embodiments according to the present disclosure can be also applied to any other types of insurance. It also can be understood that, although figure 2 shows several example steps for illustration of the inventive concept, this does not mean all the steps are necessary for the solution of the present disclosure and does not mean all the steps are performed by the automatic insurance system according to the present disclosure. Actually, some steps in figure 2 are optional, and some steps in figure 2 are not performed by the automatic insurance system, which will be readily understood by persons skilled in the art under the following teachings of the present disclosure.As shown in figure 2, the automatic insurance system according to the present disclosure may provide various types of insurance, e.g., in an insurance mall, for the customers to select and buy. The customers may access the automatic insurance system in various ways, e.g., via a software or a website which is associated with or a part of the automatic insurance system. It is to be noted that, the automatic insurance system may belong to an insurance company or may be another entity which is different from an insurance company but can access the internal data of the insurance company, e.g., according to a contract or a cooperation relationship. The solution of the present disclosure has no restriction in this regard.In step 1 of figure 2, a customer accesses the automatic insurance system, selects and buys a travel insurance from multiple insurances provided by the automatic insurance system, and registers a payment card number of the customer in the automatic insurance system. The automatic insurance system will accept the purchase of the insurance and the registration of the payment card number from the customer. For example, the automatic insurance system will check the qualification of the customer and the validity of the payment card number first, and will accept the purchase and the registration, only if the customer is qualified to be an insured person under that insurance and the payment card number is valid. The automatic insurance system may also optionally provide the sale of flight tickets, as shown in the step 1, so that the customer may conveniently buy the travel insurance and the flight ticket together in the same system.In step 2 of figure 2, the automatic insurance system will obtain authorization to provide one or more payment records related to the payment card number during the insurance period from a payment card system, e.g., by sending a request for the authorization to the payment card system and receiving a response including the authorization from the payment card system. It can be understood that, for the purpose of the solution of the present disclosure, the payment card system should be a system which handles transactions for payment cards, especially for the payment card with the registered payment card number.In step 3 of figure 2, the customer starts his or her travel, and then pays all expenses using the payment card with the registered payment card number during the travel period. All the payments will be handled and recorded in the payment card system.In an embodiment, the one or more payment records are related to one or more payments for transportation, accommodation and / or medical treatment. For example, the customer may use the payment card with the registered payment card number to pay the customer's expenses of air ticket (s) , hotel (s) , or medical treatment (s) during his or her travel, as shown in step 3 of figure 2.In step 4 of figure 2, the payment card system sends the one or more payment records related to the payment card number to the automatic insurance system during the insurance period (i.e., the travel period in this example scenario) . The one or more payment records will be received and reviewed by the automatic insurance system to determine whether one or more events are involved by the one or more payment records and covered by the insurance or not. In response to determining that one or more events are involved by the one or more payment records and covered by the insurance, the automatic insurance system will file an insurance claim for the one or more events according to the insurance.For example, the automatic insurance system may determine a flight delay for more than two hours occurs to the customer, when one record of the payment records shows the customer bought a ticket for a flight which planned to arrive at an airport at 1: 00 AM, while another record of the payment records shows the customer bought a ticket of an airport bus which departed from the airport at 3: 50AM. The automatic insurance system may further determine the flight delay is covered by the insurance, e.g., if the insurance covers all flight delays more than one hour. Then the automatic insurance system will file an insurance claim automatically for the flight delay without needing a manual claim from the customer.As another example, the automatic insurance system may determine a medical treatment occurs to the customer, when one of the payment records shows the customer paid for medical expense in a hospital. The automatic insurance system may further determine the medical treatment is covered by the insurance, e.g., if the insurance covers all medical treatments in any legitimate hospital rather than in a small clinic. Then the automatic insurance system will file an insurance claim automatically for the medical treatment without needing a manual claim from the customer.It can be understood that, if multiple events involved by the one or more payment records are covered by the insurance, the automatic insurance system may file an insurance claim for each of the events, or file just one insurance claim for all of the events together. The solution of the present disclosure has no restriction in this regard.In an embodiment, the determining comprises contacting one or more external data sources to confirm the one or more events. For example, with respect to the above flight delay, the automatic insurance system, in particular, e.g., a component called claim approval engine in the system, may contact the database system of the airline which owns that flight to request a query to see if the flight delay really happened or not and optionally the actual price of the flight ticket, as shown in step 5 of figure 2. As another example, with respect to the above medical treatment, the automatic insurance system, in particular, e.g., the claim approval engine, may contact the database system of the hospital to request a query to see if the customer really received the treatment in the hospital or not. It can be understood that, the step of contacting may be performed by the automatic insurance system using one or more other components or means in the system, and the solution of the present disclosure has no restriction in this regard.In an embodiment, the method further comprises calculating a claimable amount for the one or more events in the insurance claim based on the policy of the insurance, without needing the customer to calculate the amount himself or herself and inform the insurance company of the amount as a supplement to the insurance claim. For example, in the case of a flight delay, the automatic insurance system, in particular e.g., the claim approval engine, may calculate the amount of money which should be claimed for the flight delay based on the policy of the insurance and recite the amount in the insurance claim, as shown in step 6 of figure 2. It can be understood that, the step of calculating may be performed by the automatic insurance system using one or more other components or means in the system, and the solution of the present disclosure has no restriction in this regard.In a further embodiment, the method further comprising releasing the calculated claimable amount of money to the payment card account corresponding to the payment card number, without needing the customer to ask for the money. For example, in the case of a flight delay, the automatic insurance system, in particular e.g., the claim approval engine, may release the money claimed for the flight delay to the payment card account corresponding to the payment card number automatically, as shown in step 7 of figure 2. It can be understood that, the step of releasing may be performed by the automatic insurance system using one or more other components or means in the system, and the solution of the present disclosure has no restriction in this regard. It can also be understood that, the automatic insurance system may release the money with the help of the payment card system if the payment card system manages the payment card account for the customer, or the automatic insurance system may release the money with the help of any other financial system if that system manages the payment card account for the customer. The solution of the present disclosure has no restriction in this regard.In an embodiment, the method further comprises providing one or more conditions to the payment card system when requesting authorization from the payment card system, the one or more conditions enabling the payment card system to select which payment record or payment records related to the payment card number to be sent to the automatic insurance system. In this way, the payment card system will only send one or more payment records which meet the one or more conditions, thus reducing data to be sent by the payment card system and to be received and processed by the automatic insurance system.In a further embodiment, the one or more conditions indicate one or more of the following: one or more categories of merchant that receive payment related to the payment card number; and one or more terms of the policy of the insurance. For example, the automatic insurance system may provide a condition to the payment card system, indicating the categories of the merchant include only airline and hospital, then the payment card system will send only one or more payment records relating to airline and hospital (if any) to the automatic insurance system. As another example, the automatic insurance system may provide a condition to the payment card system, indicating a term about flight delay of policy of the insurance only covers flight delay during daytime from 8: 00AM to 6: 00PM, then the payment card system will send one or more payment records for flight during that time period (if any) to the automatic insurance system, while not sending payment record (s) for flight outside that time period (if any) to the automatic insurance system. As a further example, the automatic insurance system may provide a condition to the payment card system, indicating a term about medical treatment of policy of the insurance only covers medical treatment in a hospital above a particular level, then the payment card system will send one or more payment records for medical treatment in any hospital above that particular level (if any) to the automatic insurance system, while not sending other payment record (s) for medical treatment (if any) to the automatic insurance system.In an embodiment, the automatic insurance system automatically makes the registration of a payment card number once accepting the purchase from the customer using the payment card number. For example, in step 1 of figure 2, if the customer makes the purchase of the insurance using a payment card number on the automatic insurance system, the automatic insurance system will automatically make the registration of the payment card number. Of course, the customer may cancel the automatic registration and manually register another payment card number if the customer wants to use said other payment card for payments during the insurance period. The solution of the present disclosure has no restriction in this regard.In an embodiment, the insurance is a travel insurance, as described above.In an embodiment, the one or more payment records are related to one or more payments for transportation, accommodation and / or medical treatment, as described above.Figure 3 illustrates a schematic block diagram of an automatic insurance system 300 according to the present disclosure. The automatic insurance system 300 comprising: a accepting module 301, for accepting a purchase of an insurance and a registration of a payment card number from a customer; an obtaining module 302, for obtaining authorization from a payment card system to provide one or more payment records related to the payment card number during the insurance period; a receiving module 303, for receiving the one or more payment records from the payment card system; and a filing module 304, for filing insurance claim for one or more events, in response to determining that the one or more events are involved by the one or more payment records and covered by the insurance. The individual embodiments of the automatic insurance system 300 are corresponding to those described above for the method according to the present disclosure, and thus will not be described again here.It can be appreciated that, the automatic insurance system 300 described herein may be implemented by various modules, so that the automatic insurance system 300 implementing one or more operations for the above embodiments may comprise not only the modules shown in the corresponding figure, but also other modules for implementing one or more operations thereof. In addition, the automatic insurance system 300 may comprise a single module configured to perform two or more operations, or separate modules for each separate operation. Moreover, the modules may be implemented in hardware, firmware, software, or any combination thereof.It is understood that blocks of the block diagrams and / or other programmable data processing apparatus to produce a machine, such that the instructions, which execute via the processor of the computer and / or other programmable data processing apparatus, create means for implementing the functions / acts specified in the block diagrams and / or flowchart block or blocks. It is also to be understood that the functions / acts noted in the blocks of the flowchart may occur out of the order noted in the operational illustrations. For example, two blocks shown in succession may in fact be executed substantially concurrently or the blocks may sometimes be executed in the reverse order, depending upon the functionality / acts involved. Although some of the diagrams include arrows on communication paths to show a primary direction of communication, it is to be understood that communication may occur in the opposite direction to the depicted arrows.Furthermore, the solution of the present disclosure may take the form of a computer program on a memory having computer-usable or computer-readable program code embodied in the medium for use by or in connection with an instruction execution system. In the context of this document, a memory may be any medium that may contain, store, or is adapted to communicate the program for use by or in connection with the instruction execution system, apparatus, or device.Therefore, the present disclosure also provides an automatic insurance system 400 including a processor 401 and a memory 402, as shown in figure 4. In the automatic insurance system 400, the memory 402 stores instructions that when executed by the processor 401 cause the automatic insurance system 400 to perform the method described above with the embodiments.The present disclosure also provides a machine readable medium (not illustrated) having stored thereon instructions that when executed on an automatic insurance system cause the automatic insurance system to perform the method described with the above embodiments.Moreover, the automatic insurance system according to the present disclosure can be implemented as a network element on a dedicated hardware, as a software instance or a firmware running on a hardware, as a virtualized function instantiated on an appropriate platform (e.g., on a cloud infrastructure) , or as any combination thereof.While this specification contains many specific implementation details, these should not be construed as limitations on the scope of any implementation or of what may be claimed, but rather as descriptions of features that may be specific to particular embodiments of particular implementations. Certain features that are described in this specification in the context of separate embodiments can also be implemented in combination in a single embodiment. Conversely, various features that are described in the context of a single embodiment can also be implemented in multiple embodiments separately or in any suitable sub-combination. Moreover, although features may be described above as acting in certain combinations and even initially claimed as such, one or more features from a claimed combination can in some cases be excised from the combination, and the claimed combination may be directed to a sub-combination or variation of a sub-combination.It will be obvious to a person skilled in the art that, as the technology advances, the inventive concept can be implemented in various ways. The above-described embodiments are given for describing rather than limiting the disclosure, and it is to be understood that modifications and variations may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the disclosure as those skilled in the art readily understand. Such modifications and variations are considered to be within the scope of the disclosure and the appended claims. The protection scope of the disclosure is defined by the accompanying claims.
