Description

[0001] A HIP PROTECTIVE PAD STRUCTURE

[0002] Field of the Invention

[0003] The invention relates to a hip protective pad structure for protecting the body from injuries caused by bumps and falls in all individuals who are at risk of falls and bumps and who have the risk of fractures that will affect bone metabolism.

[0004] State of the Art

[0005] Today, medical support tools called orthoses are used to support and protect our limbs that cannot fully fulfil their function in our body. Orthoses are also used as protective measures to protect the wearer from injuries during athletic activities such as skating, skiing, volleyball, mountain biking, basketball, hockey, field hockey, ice skating or gymnastics. In addition, some protective pads are placed inside the clothing and serve as protection. However, in the state of the art, the orthoses do not provide the desired ergonomics, comfort and protection due to the hardness level, thickness and shape of the pads.

[0006] In the known state of the art, pad designs are available that are removably placed in fixed pockets on both sides and back of the hip; however, these pad designs need to be positioned correctly for usability and protection. The rear pad in the state of the art is in an obstructive position. Side pads, on the other hand, prevent the first degree of usability both dimensionally and formally, taking into account ergonomic and functional features. In another application, the focus is on pad designs and the internal structure is multi-layered. In these designs, which emphasise the importance of positioning for the area to be protected, the lack of connection points and protective surface is a significant disadvantage for impact protection during use.

[0007] The present art also provides protective structures for athletic clothing. However, in these structures, inserted gel, air or elastic foam filling is used. Filling materials such as gel etc. cause the garment to become heavier and this is a disadvantage for usability. However, in the known state of the art, there is an independent protective device / system designed to protect the user's hips, pelvis, buttocks and coccyx. Said device consists of a wearable, foldable and inflatable airbag outside the suit, sensors, a trigger / valve mechanism to release the gas, and a release valve. The current technique is a belt and it is both costly and difficult due to both its electronic parts and the way it is used. In addition, since it contains an electronic structure, it is not suitable for use by the elderly and its target audience is quite narrow.

[0008] As a result of the research conducted on the subject, a hip protective pad structure for adults was encountered. State of the art focuses on pad design and its internal structure is multilayered. However, in this design of the state of the art, which emphasises the importance of positioning for the area to be protected, the lack of connection points and protective surface is a significant disadvantage for impact protection during use. As a result, it does not contain a flexible structural form that minimises the risk of breakage of connections in critical areas.

[0009] Another document encountered as a result of the research is an independent protective device / system designed to protect the hip, pelvis, buttocks and coccyx areas. In the present art, said device comprises a wearable, collapsible and inflatable airbag worn outside the garment, sensors, a trigger / valve mechanism to release the gas and a release valve. The current technique is not ergonomic and low-cost, and at the same time it is not a product to be preferred because it is not a structuring that will appeal to all age categories.

[0010] As a result due to the abovementioned disadvantages and the insufficiency of the current solutions regarding the subject matter, a development is required to be made in the relevant technical field.

[0011] Object of the Invention

[0012] The present invention aims to solve the abovementioned disadvantages by being inspired from the current conditions.

[0013] The main object of the present invention is to provide a hip protective pad structure to protect the body from injuries caused by bumps and falls in all individuals who are at risk of falls and bumps and who have the risk of fractures that will affect bone metabolism with the use of soft orthosis with protective pads.

[0014] A further object of the invention is to provide a hip protective pad for protecting the user from injury during athletic activities such as skating, skiing, volleyball, mountain biking, basketball, hockey, field hockey, ice skating or gymnastics. Another object of the present invention is to provide a flexible structure that minimises the risk of breakage of connections in critical areas with its moon-shaped structure.

[0015] Another object of the present invention is to provide a lighter outfit by using corrugated inner surfaces and polyurethane material, which is a lightweight material, instead of gel and filling materials.

[0016] To fulfil the purposes described above, the invention relates to a hip protective pad structure for protecting the body from injuries caused by bumps and falls in all individuals who are at risk of falls and bumps and who have the risk of fractures that will affect bone metabolism, characterized in that;

[0017] • It is in crescent shape, which provides comfort and protection to the person in terms of adaptability to the body and regional thickness.

[0018] The structural and characteristic features of the present invention will be understood clearly by the following drawings and the detailed description made with reference to these drawings and therefore the evaluation shall be made by taking these figures and the detailed description into consideration.

[0019] Figures Clarifying the Invention

[0020] Figure 1 is the view of the pad with crescent cut design.

[0021] Figure 2 is the view of the pad with transverse and longitudinal channels in single or double direction.

[0022] Figure 3 is the view of the pad with bidirectional channels.

[0023] Figure 4 is the view of the pad with channels and holes.

[0024] Figure 5 is the curved view of the pad.

[0025] Figure 6 is a representative placement of the pad on the hip model.

[0026] Figure 7 is the pre-joining view of the surfaces with holes and channels forming the layered structure.

[0030] Detailed Description of the Invention

[0031] In this detailed description, the preferred embodiments of the inventive a hip protective pad (1) are described by means of examples only for clarifying the subject matter.

[0032] The hip protective pad (1) structure of the present invention, shown in Figure 1 , has a crescent shape, unlike previous techniques. With the mentioned crescent-shaped form, the pad provides comfort and protection to the user, especially with its adaptation to the curved parts of the body and regional thickness differences. A pad with a crescent shape is produced, taking into account the degree and direction of folding in the groin area, especially in the sitting position. Thanks to the crescent shape, curved structure and positioning angle of the pad on the garment, comfort and usability during daily vital functions such as sitting and standing up, as well as undesirable situations such as breakage of the pad during use and deformation by pressure on the body are eliminated.

[0033] One embodiment of the pad according to the invention comprises unidirectional or bidirectional channels (2) which provide the pad (1) with absorption properties, making the pad light and flexible. However, in addition to the channels (2), the invention comprises holes (3) that provide air flow and increase thermal comfort. In addition, said pad has a layered structure that supports the filling of the inner channels (2) with air and air transfer with the surface with holes on the outer layers. The layered structure is achieved by combining the edge coating surfaces with holes and middle surface materials with holes-channels shown in Figure 7. With all these mentioned features, the garment in which the protective pad (1) is used becomes an effective product in terms of its light weight in terms of design features, easy shaping with its flexible structure and full compliance with the body anatomy, correct design and correct positioning details for protection and high impact absorption.
