[0050] A removable foot comprises a foot pad 1, a mounting seat 2 for mounting the foot pad 1, and a locking unit arranged on the mounting seat 2. The locking unit is configured to make a fixed connection between foot pad 1 and mounting seat 2 when foot pad 1 is mounted on mounting seat 2. In other words, the locking unit is configured to lock the foot pad 1 when the foot pad 1 is mounted on the mounting seat 2.

[0051] The foot pad 1 is provided with an unlocking hole 3 corresponding to the locking unit, and the unlocking hole 3 is configured to unlock the locking unit through the unlocking hole 3 from the outside. In other words, the foot pad 1 has an opening corresponding to the locking unit that is configured to unlock the locking unit externally through the opening, which is configured to allow the operation of an unlocking device.

[0052] The locking unit comprises a guide component arranged between the foot pad 1 and the mounting seating pad 2, and the guide component is configured to connect or separate the foot pad 1 and the mounting seat 2 in the horizontal direction.

[0053] The guide component comprises at least one set of a guide groove 4 and a guide rib 5 respectively disposed on the foot pad 1 and the mounting seat 2, and the guide rib 5 is slidably mounted in the guide groove 4. It is understandable that the guide rib 5 could be also arranged on the foot pad 1, and the guide groove 4 could be arranged on the mounting seat 2. The purpose of distinguishing between the guide groove 4 and the guide rib 5 is to illustrate the position and structure.

[0054] The foot pad 1 and the mounting seat 2 have a generally rectangular shape, and the guide groove 4 and the guide rib 5 are respectively arranged in the diagonal direction of the foot pad 1 and the mounting seat 2. The guide groove 4 and the guide rib 5 extend diagonally on the foot pad 1 and the mounting seat 2 to ensure the maximum length of the guide groove 4 and the guide rib 5. The contact area between the foot pad 1 and the mounting seat 2 is increased by increasing the length of the guide groove 4 and the guide rib 5. In addition, while the foot pad 1 and the mounting seat 2 are depicted with a generally rectangular shape in plan view, the foot pad 1 and the mounting seat 2 can be any size and shape appropriate for the function. For example, the removable foot (either foot pad 1 or mounting seat 2) may be round or oval in plan view, while maintaining other features and functionality herein.

[0055] The upper surface of the mounting seat 2 is provided with a pair of guide ribs 5 that are mutually in parallel with each other. A screw mounting hole 8 is arranged between the pair of guide ribs 5. The lower surface of the foot pad 1 is provided with a pair of guide grooves 4. The foot pad 1 realizes the connection and separation with the mounting seat 2 by sliding on the guide rib 5 in the guide groove 4. In order to increase the contact area, the contact surface of the guide rib 5 and the foot pad 1 can also be increased. For example, the area of the upper surface of the guide rib 5 can be greater than 1 / 3 of the surface area of the mounting seat 2. In other words, the area of the upper surface of the guide rib 5 can be greater than 1 / 3 of the surface area of the lower surface of the foot pad 1.

[0056] A screw mounting hole 8 is disposed between a pair of guide ribs 5. The screw mounting hole 8 is provided near the center of the mounting seat 2 through which the mounting seat 2 can be mounted in a predetermined position using a method such as screw locking.

[0057] The guide groove 4 and the guide rib 5 have a trapezoid-shaped profile. In other words, a mortise-and-tenon structure forms between the foot pad 1 and the mounting seat 2. The mortise-and-tenon structure will enlarge the mutual contact areas to prevent assembly dislocation.

[0058] The locking unit comprises a spring mounting hole arranged in the mounting seat 2 in the vertical direction, a spring 6 arranged in the spring mounting hole, a spring cap 7 covering the top end of the spring 6. The spring cap 7 is able to get into the unlocking hole 3 to fixedly connect the foot pad 1 and the mounting seat 2 in the vertical direction. In the locked state, one part of the spring cap 7 is oriented in the spring mounting hole, and the other part of the spring cap 7 protrudes outward from the spring mounting hole.

[0059] The spring cap 7 comprises a pair of protrusions 71,72 extending circumferentially. The protrusions 71,72 are used to cooperate with the mounting seat 2 to keep the locking unit in a locked or unlocked state. The spring mounting hole is provided with a positioning channel for matching with the protrusions 71,72; herein the positioning channel is configured for the protrusions 71,72 to move in the vertical direction or the circumferential direction so that the spring cap 7 is able to get into the unlocking hole 3 in the vertical direction or remain retracted in the spring mounting hole.

[0060] The positioning channel comprises a first path extending downwards from the opening of the spring mounting hole vertically, a second path extending from the first path circumferentially, and a third path extending upwards from the second path vertically.

[0061] An angle of 90 degrees is formed between the first path and the third path. In other words, when the pair of protrusions 71,72 move from the first path to the third path, the pair of protrusions 71,72, will rotate 90 degrees circumferentially.

[0062] Specifically, the mounting seat 2 is provided with a first hole 21 and a second hole 22 for accommodating the protrusions 71,72 when the locking unit is in the locked state, and a third hole 23 and a fourth hole 24 for accommodating the protrusions 71,72 when the locking unit is in the unlocked state. The first hole 21 and the second hole 22 are located at the same horizontal height, and the third hole 23 and the fourth hole 24 are located at the same horizontal height. The first hole 21, the second hole 22, the third hole 23 and the fourth hole 24 are arranged around the locking unit in the circumferential direction. The first hole 21 and the third hole 23 are connected by a positioning channel, and the second hole 22 and the fourth hole 24 are connected by another positioning channel. When the locking unit switches from the locked state to the unlocked state, the protrusion 71 of the locking unit slides from the first hole 21 to the third hole 23 in the positioning channel, and the protrusion 72 slides from the second hole 22 to the fourth hole 24 in another positioning channel.

[0063] The top of the spring cap 7 is provided with a pattern for driving the spring cap 7 to rotate circumferentially. With a driver that is matched with this pattern, the spring cap 7 can be pressed and rotated, so that the protrusions 71,72 of the spring cap 7 will move from the first hole 21 and the second hole 22 to the third hole 23 and the fourth hole 24, wherein the driver can be a structure similar to a screwdriver 9.

[0064] The spring mounting hole is arranged between a pair of guide ribs 5, and the unlocking hole 3 is arranged between a pair of guide grooves 4. Preferably, the spring mounting hole and the unlocking hole 3 can be arranged at the position close to the corner of the mounting seat 2.

[0065] The mounting seat 2 is made of hard material, and the foot pad 1 is made of soft material. The mounting seat 2 is made of one kind of hard material (e.g., various metal alloys, such as stamped sheet metal, or rigid plastics that may be molded to the desired size and shape) and is intended to substantially hold their shape as the removable foot is installed onto the electronic device housing and / or removed from the electronic device housing.

[0066] FIG. 11 is a schematic view showing the line C-C of the mounting seat in one preferred embodiment of the invention. FIG. 12 is a cross-sectional view of C-C in FIG. 11 showing the spring and the spring cap in a pressed and rotated state. FIG. 13 is a top view showing the position of the spring cap in FIG. 8 in a pressed and rotated state. FIG. 14 is a schematic view showing the installation process of the foot pad in one preferred embodiment of the invention. FIG. 15 is a cross-sectional view of C-C in FIG. 14. FIG. 16 is a cross-sectional view of C-C showing the pressed spring cap. FIG. 17 is a cross-sectional view of C-C showing the assembled removable foot. FIG. 18 is a top view and a cross-sectional view of C-C showing the foot pad before disassembling in one preferred embodiment of the invention. FIG. 19 is a top view and a cross-sectional view of C-C showing the pressed and rotated spring cap in one preferred embodiment of the invention. FIG. 20 is a top view and a cross-sectional view of C-C showing the foot pad when disassembling in one preferred embodiment of the invention. The following details describe the connection and disassembly process of the foot pad 1 and mounting seat 2 of the invention.

[0067] The foot pad 1 slides in the extension direction of the two guide grooves 4. Before the foot pad 1 touches the spring cap 7, the user can press the spring cap 7 by hand or with a tool. The spring cap 7 is pressed down with the contraction of spring 6, so both the spring 6 and the spring cap 7 will enter the spring mounting hole. Continue pushing the foot pad 1 to move over the spring mounting hole, until the unlocking hole on the foot pad 1 and the spring mounting hole are aligned. At this time, the spring 6 will be released and the spring cap 7 will get into the unlocking hole to make a fixed connection between the foot pad 1 and the mounting seat 2

[0068] To remove the foot pad 1, insert a screwdriver 9 to the unlocking hole on the foot pad 1. When the pattern on the spring cap 7 is engaged with the screwdriver 9, rotate and press the screwdriver 9 so that the spring cap 7 is pressed and rotated by the screwdriver 9. At first, the spring cap 7 is pressed down and the spring 6 is compressed. Then the spring cap 7 is rotated so that the protrusion 71 of the spring cap 7 slides from the first hole 21 to the third hole 23 in the positioning channel, and the protrusion 72 of the spring cap 7 slides from the third hole 23 to the fourth hole 24 in another positioning channel. Both the spring 6 and the spring cap 7 will enter the spring mounting hole. The spring cap 7 will be blocked by the mounting seat 2 in the fourth hole 24 so the spring 6 cannot spring back. Remove the screwdriver 9 and push the foot pad 1 to slide in the extension direction of the guide groove 4 until the foot pad 1 separates from the mounting seat 2.
