AI Technical Summary
Existing incubators lack an automatic locking mechanism for their covers, posing a risk of baby falls due to human error or negligence, particularly under conditions of fatigue or high workload in neonatal intensive care units.
An incubator with an automatic magnetic lock system, comprising a magnetic lock holder on the body and a striker on the cover, ensures the cover is automatically locked without manual intervention, supplemented by a touch button for emergency deactivation and a combination lock for manual control during power outages.
The system provides enhanced safety by ensuring the cover is always locked, allowing quick access in emergencies and maintaining a sterile environment without manual operation, thus reducing the risk of baby falls and maintaining operational reliability.

Abstract
Description
[0001] NEWBORN UNIT SAFE INCUBATOR COVER
[0002] Technical Field
[0003] The invention relates to incubators that eliminate the risk of the baby falling while being treated in neonatal intensive care units, by means of the automatic locking magnetic lock added to the cover part.
[0004] State of the Art
[0005] A neonatal intensive care unit is a department designed to meet the intensive care needs of premature or sick newborn babies. These units are equipped with specialised staff to continuously monitor, treat and support the vital functions of babies. Neonatal intensive care units are usually located in hospitals and monitor babies' vital signs, respiratory and circulatory systems, body temperature, fluid balance and other health indicators. In addition, babies are given medical interventions such as respiratory support, enteral or parenteral nutrition, medication, and phototherapy when necessary. Babies may need an intensive care unit due to health problems such as premature birth, low birth weight, respiratory distress, infections or congenital anomalies. Intensive care units provide the medical and care services needed to save the lives of these babies, improve their health and support their development.
[0006] An incubator is a device used to provide the low temperature and sterile environment that premature (early) babies need. Incubators are usually a closed box made of glass or plastic and contain a baby bed, heating and humidification systems. The main purpose of an incubator is to provide temperature control for premature babies, minimise the risk of infection, and protect babies from external factors. Incubators are also used to monitor the development of babies, provide nutrition and respiratory support. An incubator is usually a box made of transparent plastic material and has an area inside where the baby is placed in a way that is comfortable and safe. Incubators also provide temperature and humidity control, which helps the baby maintain its body temperature. Incubators are also designed to support medical equipment such as oxygen and other respiratory devices. Incubators often comprise medical devices such as respiratory monitors, heart rate monitors, and intravenous lines. Incubators are also designed to protect the baby from external influences. To minimise noise, light, and microorganisms, particularly soundproof materials are used. In addition, incubators can be disinfected and sterilised. Incubators have side windows to allow the baby to be monitored and for doctors, nurses, and family members to see him. The covers used in incubators have a special design that completely closes the environment in which the baby is located and protects it from external factors.
[0007] There are latches on incubator covers to prevent babies from falling. In standard incubators used today, there are usually six latches in total in the intervention windows, two on the front and back covers and one on the sides. There are also two latches on the front and back covers of the incubator. When the nurse is going to take care of the baby, she first manually opens these latches and then opens the cover to access the baby. After the nurse has taken care of the baby, she closes the cover and activates the latches. Factors such as intensive working hours, fatigue, limited competence in the field, carelessness and workload may cause the nurse to leave the latches unlocked. If the cover latches are not locked, there is a risk of the baby falling. As a result, the need for an automatically locking incubator that eliminates the disadvantages of the state of the art and the inadequacy of the current solutions have made it necessary to make a development in the relevant technical field.
[0008] Brief Description of The Invention
[0009] The present invention relates to an incubator that eliminates the risk of falling of the baby receiving treatment in neonatal intensive care units by means of the automatic locking magnetic lock added to the cover, which meets the above-mentioned requirements, eliminates all disadvantages and brings some additional advantages.
[0010] Based on the state of the art, the aim of the invention is to ensure that the cover is automatically locked by means of the magnetic lock and touch combination lock added to the incubator, thus eliminating the risk of falling of the baby caused by humans.
[0011] The aim of the invention is to ensure that the safety of babies is maximised by means of the automatic locking magnetic locks.
[0012] Another aim of the invention is to ensure that the locking process of the cover is carried out automatically without being left to the control of the person after it is closed, by means of the control of the magnetic locks by the automation system.
[0013] Another aim of the invention is to ensure that the cover is locked without disturbing the baby in the incubator by means of the silent operation of the magnetic locks. Another aim of the invention is to ensure that the magnetic locks are activated or deactivated by means of the touch combination lock and that the incubator covers can be controlled manually when the power goes out.
[0014] Another aim of the invention is to provide quick access to the incubator in emergency situations by disabling magnetic locks with a single button.
[0015] Another aim of the invention is to provide energy to the lock system without the need for intervention in the city electricity network by means of the power adapter added externally to the incubator.
[0016] Another aim of the invention is to deactivate the magnetic lock by means of the touch button added to the incubator and to ensure that the magnetic lock is activated and automatically performs the locking process when the cover is closed back.
[0017] The structural and characteristic features and all the advantages of the invention will be understood more clearly by means of the figures given below and the detailed description written with references to these figures, and therefore the evaluation should be made by taking these figures and the detailed explanation into consideration.
[0018] Brief Description of the Drawings
[0019] In order to for the embodiment of the present invention and its advantages with additional elements to be understood in the best way, it should be evaluated together with the figures described below.

[0031] Detailed Description of the Invention
[0032] In this detailed description, the incubator (10) which eliminates the risk of the baby receiving treatment in neonatal intensive care units falling by means of the automatic locking magnetic lock system, which is the subject of the invention, added to the cover (11) is explained only as an example for a better understanding of the subject and in a way that does not create any limiting effect.
[0033] The incubator (10) shown in Figure-1 and is used to provide the low temperature and sterile environment required by premature babies eliminates the risk of the baby falling by means of the magnetic lock system consisting of the magnetic lock holder (14) added to the body (11) and the magnetic lock striker (15) added to the cover (12) automatically locking the cover (12) when it approaches the body (11). Said incubator (10) comprises a body (11) made of transparent material and a controlled closed volume for the newborn and a cover (12) for easy access to the inside of the body (11 ). On said body (11 ), intervention windows (13) are positioned for access to the newborn when needed. Said intervention windows (13) are connected to the body (11 ) by means of latches (19) to prevent uncontrolled opening. There is a control panel (16) on the bottom of the body (11) for adjusting the conditions such as the incubator (10) internal temperature, humidity rate, oxygen rate. In order to automatically lock said cover (12) without depending on human initiative while closing it, a magnetic lock handle (14) using magnetic power is positioned on the body (11) and a magnetic lock striker (15) is positioned on the cover (12) in a way that corresponds to the magnetic lock handle (14). The magnetic lock striker (15) that approaches said magnetic lock handle (14) is held and locked by means of magnetic attraction. A touch button (17) is positioned at the bottom of the body (11) to deactivate the magnetic lock handle (14) and the magnetic lock striker (15) in emergency situations and to automatically lock the magnetic lock when the cover (12) is closed. A combination lock (18) is positioned at the bottom of said body (11 ) to activate or deactivate the magnetic lock and to manually control the cover (12) when the power is cut off. In addition, a power adapter that regulates the voltage for the operation of the systems is externally connected to said incubator (10) in order to integrate the magnetic lock system into the existing incubator structures without intervening in the electrical system.
