Abstract
Description
[0001] TEA BAG WITH SELF-ADHESIVE LABEL
[0002] Field of the Invention
[0003] The technical solution concerns the tea bag with a self-adhesive label most commonly used for preparation of hot or cold beverages, which solves the problems associated with fixing the bag label to the container in which the beverage is prepared.
[0004] State of the Art
[0005] Currently, paper labels are attached by a string to a bag containing tea leaves or other substances also called as tea bags. These tea bags are most commonly used for making tea, coffee, fruit drinks and other infused drinks. The tea bag is connected with a label by means of a string, which is used for easy grasping and thus facilitates the insertion and removal of the tea bag into or out of the container. The container is usually a mug, teapot, thermos, etc.
[0006] The main disadvantage of the existing solutions is that these labels must be fixed outside the contents of the container when preparing the drink, most often by holding in hand or wrapping the string around the cup's handle, or by other mechanical means to prevent the label from falling into the container. If the container does not have a handle or a suitable protrusion that would allow easy and stable fixation of the label, it is a big problem to keep the label out of the contents of the container, because the content of the bag soaks the liquid into itself, it gets heavy and pulls the label into the container, for this reason, the label very often inadvertently ends up in the container with the prepared drink and it is necessary to remove it from there in a difficult way, which is especially difficult for tall containers such as thermoses, as the tea bag usually falls to the bottom of the container. Another disadvantage of the existing solutions is that fixing the label by wrapping the string is impractical and demanding on fine motor skills, it happens to people with sufficiently immature fine motor skills such as children or disabled people or people of advanced age that the label often inadvertently ends up in the teapot. At the same time, it is usually necessary to use both hands to fasten and remove the label string later. On the market, there are various mechanical hanging holders made of different materials that fix to the edge of the container and allow you to attach the tea bag so that it does not fall into the container, but these holders do not eliminate the aforementioned disadvantages. Nature of the Invention
[0007] These shortcomings are largely corrected by the tea bag with adhesive label according to this technical solution, the essence of which is that the label is provided with a layer of non-toxic and pressure sensitive adhesive on one side. The non-toxic adhesive produces no volatile organic compounds and contains no harmful substances, which is important to maintain health and safety both during storage and handling. At the same time, it is environmentally friendly as it is usually made from renewable sources and is biodegradable. The advantage of pressure sensitive adhesive is that it is easy to apply and does not require any special equipment.
[0008] The main advantage of the tea bag with self-adhesive label, according to this technical solution, is that the label with a non-toxic and pressure-sensitive adhesive allows easy attachment of the label to the outer wall of the container. The label is fixed by the string to the tea bag and prevents the label from accidentally slipping into the container with the prepared drink. At the same time, the affixed label can be easily removed from the outer wall of the container, including the adhesive, which does not remain on the wall of the container.
[0009] Another advantage of this solution is the easy handling of the label, which allows the label to be glued and removed from the outer wall of the container with one hand. Simple handling of the bag with self-adhesive label is easy on fine motor skills, which is especially suitable for people with sufficiently immature fine motor skills such as children or disabled people or people of advanced age.
[0010] Easy label fixation is particularly advantageous for containers that have no handle or other suitable protrusion that would allow easy and stable label fixation, such as thermoses. Another advantage of the tea bag with self-adhesive label is its low technological complexity in production and its low production price.
[0011] For proper operation, it is advantageous that the label is covered with a protective cover on the side with the adhesive layer, which is especially advantageous during storage and distribution of the adhesive label bags, as the protective cover protects the adhesive layer on the label against possible contamination, especially by dust, and thus prevents any reduction in the adhesive properties of the adhesive. Adhesive pouch labels can come in different sizes and geometric shapes, but it is always important to maintain sufficient surface area for the application of the adhesive layer. In addition to the label and protective cover, a wide range of smooth components of the bag packaging can be used to protect against adhesive contamination. Brief description of drawings
[0012] The technical solution will be further explained by drawings showing Fig. 1 a tea bag equipped with a string and a drop-down self-adhesive label, which itself protects the adhesive layer from contamination. Fig. 2 shows a tea bag with a string and a self-adhesive label, which is perforated with a protective overwrap whose flap protects the adhesive layer from contamination. Fig. 3 shows a tea bag fitted with a string and a self-adhesive label attached to the smooth part of the tea bag packaging.
[0013] Examples
[0014] Example 1
[0015] Tea bag 1 with drop-down self-adhesive label 3 according to Fig. 1.
[0016] The tea bag 1 is provided with a string 2 whose other end is connected to the label 3, which is provided on one side with a layer of non-toxic and pressure sensitive adhesive 4. The label 3 is folded in its half, while the folded side of the label 3 itself serves to protect the layer of nontoxic and pressure-sensitive adhesive 4 from contamination, in particular by dust and other impurities, thus preventing any decrease in the adhesive abilities of the adhesive 4. As a nontoxic and pressure sensitive adhesive 4 known as PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive), a PSA adhesive based on acrylic resins suitable for use in the food industry is used. The opposite sides of the folded label 3 can be opened apart, exposing a layer of non-toxic and pressure sensitive adhesive 4, which in turn allows the label 3 to be pressed and glued with the adhesive side 4 to the outer wall of the container. Pressing the side of the label 3 bearing the adhesive 4 fixes the label 3 to the outer wall of the container in the desired position. After the tea bag content has been infused, the label 3 is easily removed from the wall of the container and the tea bag 1 is removed from the container. After the label 3 is removed from the wall of the container, adhesive 4, or its residue, will not remain on the wall of the container.
[0017] Example 2
[0018] Tea bag 1 with string 2 and self-adhesive label 3, which by means of perforation 5 is connected to the protective cover 6 and whose flap protects the layer of adhesive 4 from contamination according to Fig. 2. The tea bag 1 is provided with a string 2 whose other end is connected to the label 3, which is provided on one side with a layer of non-toxic and pressure sensitive adhesive 4. As a non-toxic and pressure sensitive adhesive 4 known as PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive), a rubber-based PSA adhesive suitable for use in the food industry is used. Protective cover 6 is used to protect the tea bag 1 from contamination. Label 3 is on the side with the layer of adhesive 4 overlapped with protective cover 6 flap, which prevents contamination of adhesive 4 especially from dust and other impurities, thus preventing possible reduction of adhesive 4 abilities. Label 3 is connected to protective cover 6 by means of perforation 5, which serves to easy tearing the label 3 from protective cover 6. The label 3 is torn from the protective cover 6 at the perforation 5 point, the tea bag 1 is removed from the protective cover 6 and placed in the container, and subsequently the label 3 is pressed and glued with the adhesive 4 side to the outer wall of the container, thereby fixing the label 3 on the outer wall of the container in the desired position. After the tea bag 1 content is infused, the label 3 is removed from the wall of the container and the tea bag 1 is removed from the container. After the label 3 is removed from the wall of the container, adhesive 4, or its residue, will not remain on the wall of the container.
[0019] Example 3
[0020] The tea bag 1 with a string 2 and a self-adhesive label 3 attached to the smooth packaging 7 component of the tea bag 1 according to Fig. 3.
[0021] The tea bag 1 is provided with a string 2 whose other end is connected to the label 3, which is provided on one side with a layer of non-toxic and pressure sensitive adhesive 4. As a non-toxic and pressure sensitive adhesive 4 known as PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive), a rubber-based PSA adhesive suitable for use in the food industry is used. The label 3 is glued by the adhesive 4 side to the smooth part of the packaging 7, in which the tea bag 1 or tea bags 1 are distributed. The smooth part of the packaging 7 in this case is the wall and lid of the box in which the tea bags 1 are distributed. The smooth part of the packaging 7 to which the label 3 is glued serves as a protection of the adhesive 4 from contamination, in particular by dust and other impurities, thus preventing any decrease in the adhesive properties of the adhesive 4. The label 3 is removed from the packaging 7 by a perpendicular pull using a string 2 and the tea bag 1 is removed from the packaging 7 and placed in the container and subsequently the label 3 is pressed and glued with the adhesive 4 side to the outer wall of the container, thereby fixing the label 3 on the outer wall of the container in the desired position. After the tea bag 1 content is infused, the label 3 is removed from the wall of the container and the tea bag 1 is removed from the container. After the label 3 is removed from the wall of the container, adhesive 4, or its residue, will not remain on the wall of the container.
[0022] The examples given are for illustrative purposes only and do not cover the full range of possible designs of the self-adhesive tea bag.
