[0050] The one or more UEs 104 may be dispersed throughout a geographic region of the wireless communications system 100. A UE 104 may include or may be referred to as a mobile device, a wireless device, a remote device, a remote unit, a handheld device, or a subscriber device, or some other suitable terminology. In some implementations, the UE 104 may be referred to as a unit, a station, a terminal, or a client, among other examples. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE 104 may be referred to as an Internet-of-Things (IoT) device, an Internet-of-Everything (IoE) device, or machine-type communication (MTC) device, among other examples. In some implementations, a UE 104 may be stationary in the wireless communications system 100. In some other implementations, a UE 104 may be mobile in the wireless communications system 100.

[0051] The one or more UEs 104 may be devices in different forms or having different capabilities. Some examples of UEs 104 are illustrated in FIG. 1. A UE 104 may be capable of communicating with various types of devices, such as the network entities 102, other UEs 104, or network equipment (e.g., the core network 106, the packet data network 108, a relay device, an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node, or another network  equipment) , as shown in FIG. 1. Additionally, or alternatively, a UE 104 may support communication with other network entities 102 or UEs 104, which may act as relays in the wireless communications system 100.

[0052] A UE 104 may also be able to support wireless communication directly with other UEs 104 over a communication link 114. For example, a UE 104 may support wireless communication directly with another UE 104 over a device-to-device (D2D) communication link. In some implementations, such as vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) deployments, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) deployments, or cellular-V2X deployments, the communication link 114 may be referred to as a sidelink. For example, a UE 104 may support wireless communication directly with another UE 104 over a PC5 interface.

[0053] A network entity 102 may support communications with the core network 106, or with another network entity 102, or both. For example, a network entity 102 may interface with the core network 106 through one or more backhaul links 116 (e.g., via an S1, N2, N2, or another network interface) . The network entities 102 may communicate with each other over the backhaul links 116 (e.g., via an X2, Xn, or another network interface) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 may communicate with each other directly (e.g., between the network entities 102) . In some other implementations, the network entities 102 may communicate with each other or indirectly (e.g., via the core network 106) . In some implementations, one or more network entities 102 may include subcomponents, such as an access network entity, which may be an example of an access node controller (ANC) . An ANC may communicate with the one or more UEs 104 through one or more other access network transmission entities, which may be referred to as a radio heads, smart radio heads, or transmission-reception points (TRPs) . As used herein, the term “TRP” refers to a transmission-reception point having an antenna array (with one or more antenna elements) at the network side located at a specific geographical location, which may be used for transmitting and receiving signals to / from the terminal device. In embodiment of the present disclosure, a TRP may refer to Macro Cell, micro cell, an RRH, a relay, a femto node, a pico node, etc.

[0054] In some implementations, a network entity 102 may be configured in a disaggregated architecture, which may be configured to utilize a protocol stack physically or logically distributed among two or more network entities 102, such as an integrated access backhaul (IAB) network, an open RAN (O-RAN) (e.g., a network configuration  sponsored by the O-RAN Alliance) , or a virtualized RAN (vRAN) (e.g., a cloud RAN (C-RAN) ) . For example, a network entity 102 may include one or more of a central unit (CU) , a distributed unit (DU) , a radio unit (RU) , a RAN Intelligent Controller (RIC) (e.g., a Near-Real Time RIC (Near-RT RIC) , a Non-Real Time RIC (Non-RT RIC) ) , a Service Management and Orchestration (SMO) system, or any combination thereof.

[0055] An RU may also be referred to as a radio head, a smart radio head, a remote radio head (RRH) , a remote radio unit (RRU) , or a transmission reception point (TRP) . One or more components of the network entities 102 in a disaggregated RAN architecture may be co-located, or one or more components of the network entities 102 may be located in distributed locations (e.g., separate physical locations) . In some implementations, one or more network entities 102 of a disaggregated RAN architecture may be implemented as virtual units (e.g., a virtual CU (VCU) , a virtual DU (VDU) , a virtual RU (VRU) ) .

[0056] Split of functionality between a CU, a DU, and an RU may be flexible and may support different functionalities depending upon which functions (e.g., network layer functions, protocol layer functions, baseband functions, radio frequency functions, and any combinations thereof) are performed at a CU, a DU, or an RU. For example, a functional split of a protocol stack may be employed between a CU and a DU such that the CU may support one or more layers of the protocol stack and the DU may support one or more different layers of the protocol stack. In some implementations, the CU may host upper protocol layer (e.g., a layer 3 (L3) , a layer 2 (L2) ) functionality and signaling (e.g., Radio Resource Control (RRC) , service data adaption protocol (SDAP) , Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) ) . The CU may be connected to one or more DUs or RUs, and the one or more DUs or RUs may host lower protocol layers, such as a layer 1 (L1) (e.g., physical (PHY) layer) or an L2 (e.g., radio link control (RLC) layer, medium access control (MAC) layer) functionality and signaling, and may each be at least partially controlled by the CU 160.

[0057] Additionally, or alternatively, a functional split of the protocol stack may be employed between a DU and an RU such that the DU may support one or more layers of the protocol stack and the RU may support one or more different layers of the protocol stack. The DU may support one or multiple different cells (e.g., via one or more RUs) . In some implementations, a functional split between a CU and a DU, or between a DU and an RU may be within a protocol layer (e.g., some functions for a protocol layer may be  performed by one of a CU, a DU, or an RU, while other functions of the protocol layer are performed by a different one of the CU, the DU, or the RU) .

[0058] A CU may be functionally split further into CU control plane (CU-CP) and CU user plane (CU-UP) functions. A CU may be connected to one or more DUs via a midhaul communication link (e.g., F1, F1-c, F1-u) , and a DU may be connected to one or more RUs via a fronthaul communication link (e.g., open fronthaul (FH) interface) . In some implementations, a midhaul communication link or a fronthaul communication link may be implemented in accordance with an interface (e.g., a channel) between layers of a protocol stack supported by respective network entities 102 that are in communication via such communication links.

[0059] The core network 106 may support user authentication, access authorization, tracking, connectivity, and other access, routing, or mobility functions. The core network 106 may be an evolved packet core (EPC) , or a 5G core (5GC) , which may include a control plane entity that manages access and mobility (e.g., a mobility management entity (MME) , an access and mobility management functions (AMF) ) and a user plane entity that routes packets or interconnects to external networks (e.g., a serving gateway (S-GW) , a Packet Data Network (PDN) gateway (P-GW) , or a user plane function (UPF) ) . In some implementations, the control plane entity may manage non-access stratum (NAS) functions, such as mobility, authentication, and bearer management (e.g., data bearers, signal bearers, etc. ) for the one or more UEs 104 served by the one or more network entities 102 associated with the core network 106.

[0060] The core network 106 may communicate with the packet data network 108 over one or more backhaul links 116 (e.g., via an S1, N2, N2, or another network interface) . The packet data network 108 may include an application server 118. In some implementations, one or more UEs 104 may communicate with the application server 118. A UE 104 may establish a session (e.g., a protocol data unit (PDU) session, or the like) with the core network 106 via a network entity 102. The core network 106 may route traffic (e.g., control information, data, and the like) between the UE 104 and the application server 118 using the established session (e.g., the established PDU session) . The PDU session may be an example of a logical connection between the UE 104 and the core network 106 (e.g., one or more network functions of the core network 106) .

[0061] In the wireless communications system 100, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may use resources of the wireless communications system 100 (e.g., time resources (e.g., symbols, slots, subframes, frames, or the like) or frequency resources (e.g., subcarriers, carriers) ) to perform various operations (e.g., wireless communications) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support different resource structures. For example, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support different frame structures. In some implementations, such as in 4G, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support a single frame structure. In some other implementations, such as in 5G and among other suitable radio access technologies, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support various frame structures (i.e., multiple frame structures) . The network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support various frame structures based on one or more numerologies.

[0062] One or more numerologies may be supported in the wireless communications system 100, and a numerology may include a subcarrier spacing and a cyclic prefix. A first numerology (e.g., μ=0) may be associated with a first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. In some implementations, the first numerology (e.g., μ=0) associated with the first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) may utilize one slot per subframe. A second numerology (e.g., μ=1) may be associated with a second subcarrier spacing (e.g., 30 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. A third numerology (e.g., μ=2) may be associated with a third subcarrier spacing (e.g., 60 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix or an extended cyclic prefix. A fourth numerology (e.g., μ=3) may be associated with a fourth subcarrier spacing (e.g., 120 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. A fifth numerology (e.g., μ=4) may be associated with a fifth subcarrier spacing (e.g., 240 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix.

[0063] A time interval of a resource (e.g., a communication resource) may be organized according to frames (also referred to as radio frames) . Each frame may have a duration, for example, a 10 millisecond (ms) duration. In some implementations, each frame may include multiple subframes. For example, each frame may include 10 subframes, and each subframe may have a duration, for example, a 1 ms duration. In some implementations, each frame may have the same duration. In some implementations, each subframe of a frame may have the same duration.

[0064] Additionally or alternatively, a time interval of a resource (e.g., a communication resource) may be organized according to slots. For example, a subframe may include a number (e.g., quantity) of slots. The number of slots in each subframe may also depend on the one or more numerologies supported in the wireless communications system 100. For instance, the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth numerologies (i.e., μ=0, μ=1, μ=2, μ=3, μ=4) associated with respective subcarrier spacings of 15 kHz, 30 kHz, 60 kHz, 120 kHz, and 240 kHz may utilize a single slot per subframe, two slots per subframe, four slots per subframe, eight slots per subframe, and 16 slots per subframe, respectively. Each slot may include a number (e.g., quantity) of symbols (e.g., OFDM symbols) . In some implementations, the number (e.g., quantity) of slots for a subframe may depend on a numerology. For a normal cyclic prefix, a slot may include 14 symbols. For an extended cyclic prefix (e.g., applicable for 60 kHz subcarrier spacing) , a slot may include 12 symbols. The relationship between the number of symbols per slot, the number of slots per subframe, and the number of slots per frame for a normal cyclic prefix and an extended cyclic prefix may depend on a numerology. It should be understood that reference to a first numerology (e.g., μ=0) associated with a first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) may be used interchangeably between subframes and slots.

[0065] In the wireless communications system 100, an electromagnetic (EM) spectrum may be split, based on frequency or wavelength, into various classes, frequency bands, frequency channels, etc. By way of example, the wireless communications system 100 may support one or multiple operating frequency bands, such as frequency range designations FR1 (410 MHz –7.125 GHz) , FR2 (24.25 GHz –52.6 GHz) , FR3 (7.125 GHz –24.25 GHz) , FR4 (52.6 GHz –114.25 GHz) , FR4a or FR4-1 (52.6 GHz –71 GHz) , and FR5 (114.25 GHz –300 GHz) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may perform wireless communications over one or more of the operating frequency bands. In some implementations, FR1 may be used by the network entities 102 and the UEs 104, among other equipment or devices for cellular communications traffic (e.g., control information, data) . In some implementations, FR2 may be used by the network entities 102 and the UEs 104, among other equipment or devices for short-range, high data rate capabilities.

[0066] FR1 may be associated with one or multiple numerologies (e.g., at least three numerologies) . For example, FR1 may be associated with a first numerology (e.g., μ=0) ,  which includes 15 kHz subcarrier spacing; a second numerology (e.g., μ=1) , which includes 30 kHz subcarrier spacing; and a third numerology (e.g., μ=2) , which includes 60 kHz subcarrier spacing. FR2 may be associated with one or multiple numerologies (e.g., at least 2 numerologies) . For example, FR2 may be associated with a third numerology (e.g., μ=2) , which includes 60 kHz subcarrier spacing; and a fourth numerology (e.g., μ=3) , which includes 120 kHz subcarrier spacing.

[0067] With the AI / ML beam predictions, top-K narrow beams can be predicated from the Set A. Further top K beam sweeping procedure can provide higher beam prediction accuracy. One possibility is that the Top-K narrow beams are part of separate wide beams. It is not clear how the NW could dynamically indicate the Set A beams that are part of the top-K beam measurements within the channel state information (CSI) framework. This information would be needed for the UE to understand which transmission configuration indication (TCI) state to apply for its Top-K measurements. The semi-static configuration of quasi co-location (QCL) relationship in legacy CSI framework can make it challenging for the NW to configure any combination of Top-K beams. Moreover, a dynamic number of K due to different uncertainty in UE / NW predictions can be challenging to configure without substantially increasing the size of radio resource configuration (RRC) configuration signaling.

[0068] In traditional beam management, a wide beam can be determined based on synchronization signal block (SSB) measurements during P1. Thanks to the wide beam determined during P1, NW have a limited number of narrow beam measurement combinations during P2. As shown in FIG. 2A, assuming 8 SSBs would be measured during P1, NW can configure 8 CSI-AperiodicTriggerStates to enable UE to measure the narrow beams within each wide beam, where the main difference of the aPeriodicTriggerStates is the qcl-info for each state.

[0069] In AI / ML beam management, however, top-K predicted beams can be any K beams within the Set A. It is impractical to configure individual CSI-AperiodicTriggerState for all combinations. As shown in FIG. 2B, assuming that the Set A contains 32 beams and top-4 beams within the Set A are predicted by AI / ML model, there would be possible combinations of top-4 beams.

[0070] Regarding QCL relationship configuration for channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) , the QCL types corresponding to each downlink (DL) RS are  given by the higher layer parameter qcl-Type in QCL-Info and may take one of the following values:

[0071] -'typeA': {Doppler shift, Doppler spread, average delay, delay spread}

[0072] -'typeB': {Doppler shift, Doppler spread}

[0073] -'typeC': {Doppler shift, average delay}

[0074] -'typeD': {Spatial Rx parameter}

[0075] For a periodic CSI-RS resource in an NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet, the QCL relationship is configured by higher layer parameter qcl-InfoPeriodicCSI-RS. For a semi-persistent CSI-RS resource in an NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet, the QCL relationship is indicated using a medium access control (MAC) control element (MAC CE) activating the NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet and applies until deactivation. For aperiodic CSI-RS resource in an NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet, the QCL relationship is configured by higher layer parameter qcl-info in RRC information element (IE) CSI-AssociatedReportConfigInfo.

[0076] In view of above, embodiments of the disclosure provide solutions for dynamic QCL relationship indication for a RS resource set. According to the proposed solutions, a first RS resource set is configured to a UE, and at least one indication is further signaled to the UE, which informs it of QCL relationship of RS (s) corresponding to the first RS resource set. The UE measures reference signals corresponding to the first RS resource set based on the indication.

[0077] FIG. 3 illustrates a process flow 300 for dynamic QCL relationship indication for a RS resource set in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. The process flow 300 may involve a UE 301 and a network entity (NW) (e.g. a base station, such as gNB) 302. The process flow 300 may be applied to the wireless communications system 100 with reference to FIG. 1, for example, the UE 301 may be any of UEs 104, and the network entity 302 may be or comprise any of the network entities 102. It would be appreciated that the process flow 300 may be applied to other communication scenarios.

[0078] As a prerequisite, the UE 301 is configured with one or more RS resource sets for measurement. At 310, the network entity 302 transmits, to the UE 301, at least one indication 315 indicative of a first RS resource set and QCL relationship of at least one RS resource of the first RS resource set. Correspondingly, at 320, the UE 301 receives  the at least one indication 315 from the network entity 302. The indication 315 may be carried or included in a MAC CE or downlink control information (DCI) .

[0079] The UE 301 can determine QCL relationship of RSs corresponding to the first RS resource set based on the indication 315. The RSs may be transmitted on at least one resources of the first RS resource set. The number of the resources used to transmit or receive the reference signals may be equal to or less than the size of the first RS resource set. In some embodiments, the indication 315 may include a field indicating the number of resources of the first RS resource set used to transmit or receive the RSs. For example, when a positive integer J is indicated, the UE 301 may determine to receive RSs on the first J resources of the first RS resource set.

[0080] Additionally or alternatively, the number of the resources used to receive the RSs can be indicated implicitly. In some embodiments, the indication 315 may be indicative of one or more TCI states to be triggered for RS reception, and the UE 301 may derive, based on the number of TCI states, the RS resource of the first RS resource set to receive the RSs. For example, when J TCI states are triggered, the UE 301 may determine to receive RSs on the first J resources of the first RS resource set.

[0081] At 330, the network entity 302 transmits, to the UE 301, RSs 335 on the at least one RS resource based on the at least one indication 315. Correspondingly, at 340, the UE 301 receives, from the network entity 302, the RSs 335 on the at least one RS resource based on the at least one indication 315.

[0082] In some embodiments, the at least one RS resource comprises the first one or more resources of the first RS resource set, and the UE 301 apply, based on the at least one indication 315, one or more TCI states to the first one or more resources of the first RS resource set, respectively. The UE 301 assumes that the RSs 335 are transmitted in first J resources of an occasion of the first RS resource set. Further, UE 301 assume that first one within the J indicated TCI states applies to first resource of the occasion of the first RS resource set, second one within the J indicated TCI states applies to second resource of an occasion of the first RS resource set, and so on. The occasion of the first RS resource set is first occasion of the first RS resource set after a duration from the UE 301 reporting the acknowledgement (ACK) corresponding to the MAC CE or DCI including the indication 315.

[0083] In some embodiments, a plurality of TCI states are configured to the UE 301 by RRC. The TCI state for each entity of the first RS resource set may be indicated from the plurality of TCI states by the indication 315, for example, a MAC CE or DCI.

[0084] In detail, the first RS resource set containing K RS resources and a list of TCI state containing X TCI states are configured to the UE 301. The first RS resource set may be set to periodic time behavior, semi-persistent time behavior or aperiodic time behavior. The indication 315 may indicates one or more TCI states of the plurality of TCI states, and UE 301 may determine the QCL relationship of RS resource (s) based on the indicated TCI state (s) .

[0085] A MAC CE may be used to carry the indication 315. The MAC CE may include a field indicating the first RS resource set. Additionally or alternatively, the MAC CE may include a field indicating the list of TCI states. In some embodiments, the MAC CE may include a bitmap indicating at least one TCI state of the plurality of TCI states.

[0086] For example, the network entity 302 may send a MAC CE to the UE 301 to indicate J (J<=K) elements from the list of TCI states for determining QCL relationship of J resources of the first RS resource set. If J is less than the size of the first RS resource set, only J resources within the first RS resource set are used to transmit RSs with the indicated TCI state (s) . Since a bitmap in a MAC CE may be used to indicate the J TCI states, J could be a variable less than the size of the first RS resource set.

[0087] In some embodiments, a DCI may be used to indicate the J TCI states for determining QCL relationship of J resources of the first RS resource set. Information indicated by the DCI may include one or more of: an indication of the first RS resource set, indication (s) of TCI states for the first RS resource set which indicates J TCI states that would apply to J resources of the first RS resource set, respectively, and padding bits, if required. In some embodiments, the indication (s) of TCI states may be identifier (s) of at least one TCI state of the plurality of TCI states.

[0088] For example, a NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet#i containing K CSI-RS resources is configured to the UE 301. X TCI states are configured to the UE 301 and associated with the NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet#i. DCI format 0_1 can be used for indicating, from the X TCI states, the J TCI states for J resources of the first RS resource set. The information transmitted by means of the DCI format 0_1 with cyclic redundant check (CRC)  scrambled by a dedicated radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) value, e.g., CSI-TCI-RNTI, may include: the indication of NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet, with 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 bits as determined by the number of NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet configured by higher layers, where value i indicates i-th NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet in a list of NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet configured by higher layers. The information may further include the indication of TCI states for NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet, with J*log2X bits. This field contains J identifiers for indicating J TCI states from the X TCI states. The information may include padding bits, e.g., (K-J) *log2X bits, if J<K.

[0089] In some embodiments, the TCI state for each entity of the first RS resource set may be indicated based on a second RS resource set. The indication 315 may indicate at least one RS resource of the second RS resource set, and the UE 301 may determine the QCL relationship of the resource (s) of the first RS resource set used to receive the RSs as the same QCL relationship of the indicated at least one RS resource of the second RS resource set. In one example, the first RS resource set may comprise a list of CSI-RS resources and the second RS resource set may comprise a list of SSBs.

[0090] In detail, the first RS resource set containing K RS resources and a second RS resource set containing X RS resources are configured to the UE 301. The first RS resource set may be set to periodic or semi-persistent time behaviour. A MAC CE is received by the UE to indicate J (J<=K) elements from the second RS resource set for determining QCL relationship of J resources of the first RS resource set. The MAC CE may include a field indicating the first RS resource set, a field indicating the second RS resource set, and a bitmap indicating J elements of the second RS resource set.

[0091] In this embodiment, the UE 301 may assume that RSs are transmitted in first J resources of an occasion of the first RS resource set. Further, UE may assume that first resource in an occasion of the first RS resource set has same QCL relationship as first one within the J indicated RS resources, second resource of the first RS resource set has same QCL relationship as second one within the J indicated RS resources, and so on. The occasion of the first RS resource set is first occasion of the first RS resource set after a duration from UE reporting the ACK corresponding to the MAC CE.

[0092] In some embodiments, the UE 301 may be configured with multiple sets of TCI states. The indication 315 indicates one of the multiple sets of TCI states. The UE 301 may determine the QCL relationship of the resource (s) of the first RS resource set  based on the indicated set of the TCI states. The sets of TCI states may have same or different number of TCI states, and the UE may determine the resource (s) of the first RS resource set based on the size of the indicated set.

[0093] In one example, the first RS resource set containing K RS resources and M sets of TCI states are configured to the UE by NW, where each set may consist of K TCI states. No matter which side AI / ML model deploys, NW can have knowledge of the top-K predicted beams. According to the top-K predicted beams, NW may indicate one from the multiple sets of TCI states for determining the QCL relationship of K RS resources of the first RS resource set by DL signaling.

[0094] If the first RS resource set is aperiodic CSI-RS resource set, when NW triggers an aperiodic CSI report based on aperiodic CSI-RS transmission, the triggering DCI may be used to indicate one of the M sets of TCI states for corresponding aperiodic CSI-RS resource set. If the first RS resource set is periodic or semi-persistent CSI-RS resource set, the UE may assume that RSs corresponding to the first RS resource set is applied with the indicated TCI states after a duration after reporting an ACK corresponding to the DL signaling.

[0095] There are several schemes to configure multiple sets of TCI states and indicate one from them. In Scheme 1, the NW may configures M sets of TCI states by RRC signaling, then triggers one set from the M sets using DL signaling, such as DCI.

[0096] In Scheme 2, the NW may configure M sets of TCI states by RRC signaling, activates N sets from the M sets using a signaling (e.g., a MAC CE) and then triggers one set from the N sets using a further signaling (e.g., DCI) . The MAC CE may at least include an identifier of the first RS resource set, the indication for sets of TCI states to be activated, e.g., a bitmap with M bits where each bit corresponds to one set of the M sets of TCI states. Each activated set of TCI state is mapped to a DCI field codepoint.

[0097] In Scheme 3, the NW may configures X TCI states by RRC signaling, then activates Y TCI states from the X TCI states using a signaling (e.g., a MAC CE) . The MAC CE may at least include an identifier of the first RS resource set, the indication for TCI states to be activated, e.g., a bitmap with X bits where each bit corresponds to one of the X TCI states. With the Y TCI states, there are Z combinations of TCI states, where the rule of combination can be predefined, or configured / indicated by the NW. The NW  triggers one of the Z combinations for the CSI-RS resource set using a further signaling (e.g., DCI) . In this embodiment, one TCI state may apply to multiple resources within the first RS resource set.

[0098] The fields in a DCI used to trigger a set or combination of TCI states may be new introduced fields in legacy DCI format, a field of a new introduced DCI format or reinterpretation of a legacy DCI field.

[0099] The information indicated by the fields may include an indication of the first RS resource set. The information may further include the indication of TCI states for the first RS resource set. Each codepoint may indicates a set or combination of TCI states that would be applied to resources of the first RS resource set. For Scheme 1, each codepoint may indicate one of the M sets of TCI states configured by RRC. For Scheme 2, each codepoint may indicate one of the N activated sets of TCI states. For Scheme 3, each codepoint may indicate one of the Z combinations of TCI states. The following is a more detailed example of those schemes.

[0100] A CSI-RS resource set NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet#i is configured to a UE where QCL relationship is optional configured for resources of the CSI-RS resource set. 8 TCI states are configured to the UE, where for each TCI state individual SSB is set to source RS for QCL relationship, like that:

[0101] -TCI-state1: {SSB1|Type C, SSB1|Type D} ,

[0102] -TCI-state2: {SSB2|Type C, SSB2|Type D} ,

[0103] -…,

[0104] -TCI-state8: {SSB8|Type C, SSB8|Type D} .

[0105] For Scheme 1 and Scheme 2, M sets of TCI states are configured to the UE and associated with the NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet#i, where each set contains 4 of the 8 TCI states, e.g., first set of TCI states is {TCI-state1, TCI-state2, TCI-state3, TCI-state4} , second set of TCI states is {TCI-state5, TCI-state6, TCI-state7, TCI-state8} , …, M-th set of TCI states is {TCI-state6, TCI-state7, TCI-state8, TCI-state8} . For Scheme 1, among the M sets of TCI states, one set from the M sets of TCI states is further indicated to the UE using a field with log2M bits in a DCI. For Scheme 2, among the M sets of TCI states, N sets are activated furtherly to the UE by NW using a MAC CE. After model inference, NW may trigger one set from the N activated sets of TCI states using a field with log2N bits in a DCI.

[0106] For Scheme 3, the 8 TCI states are associated with the NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet#i. Among the 8 TCI states, 4 TCI states are activated by NW using a MAC CE.A rule of TCI state combination can be configured semi-statically by NW using RRC signalling, like the table below:

[0107] where the Entity_i means the i-th TCI state of the 4 TCI states activated by the MAC CE.

[0108] FIG. 4 illustrates a schematic diagram of an example of dynamic QCL relationship indication using the proposed Scheme 3. As shown in FIG. 4, TCI-state1, TCI-state2, TCI-state6, and TCI-state7 are selected using a MAC CE to be activated from the 8 configured TCI states. According to the rule of TCI state combination, there are Z combinations of TCI states based on the 4 TCI states, i.e., first combination is {TCI-state1, TCI-state2, TCI-state6, and TCI-state7} , second combination is {TCI-state2, TCI-state2, TCI-state6, and TCI-state7} , and so on. NW triggers one from the Z combinations of TCI states using a field with log2Z bits in a DCI.

[0109] In some embodiments, DCI format 0_1 can be used for triggering a set or combination of TCI states for a CSI-RS resource set to the UE. The information transmitted by means of the DCI format 0_1 with CRC scrambled by a dedicated RNTI value, e.g., CSI-TCI-RNTI may include the indication of a CSI-RS resource set, with 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 bits as determined by the number of NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet configured by higher layers. Value i indicates i-th NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet in a list of NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet configured by higher layers.

[0110] The information transmitted by means of the DCI may further include an indication of TCI states for CSI-RS resource set. For Scheme 1, the indication may include log2M bits as determined by the number (M) of sets of TCI states configured by RRC, where each codepoint indicates a set or combination of TCI states from the M configured sets of TCI states. For Scheme 2, the indication may include log2N bits as determined by the number (N) of sets of TCI states activated by MAC CE, where each codepoint indicates a set or combination of TCI states from the N activated sets of TCI  states. For Scheme 3, the indication may include log2Z bits as determined by the number (Z) of combinations of TCI states that is determined based on the rule of TCI state combination and 4 TCI states activated by MAC CE, where each codepoint indicates a set or combination of TCI states from the Z combinations of TCI states.

[0111] In some embodiments, the indication of QCL relationship for Top K beam sweeping resources may be based on a CSI report, for example, the reported inference result.

[0112] In detail, a first CSI report configuration is configured to a UE for reporting inference results. A first RS resource set, which is associated with the first CSI report configuration, is configured to the UE for Top-K beam measurement. The UE reports inference results in a CSI report corresponding to the first CSI report configuration, where K CSI-RS resource indexes (CRIs) or SSB resource indexes (SSB-RIs) ) of the predicted beams are reported. Then, an indication is further sent to the UE for determining TCI states of RSs corresponding to the first RS resource set based on the CSI report corresponding to the first CSI report configuration. The indication may be carried in a DL signaling, e.g., physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) MAC CE or DCI.

[0113] In one option, the number of RS resources of the first RS resource set may be equal to K×R, where R is the number of maximum Rx beams and K is the number of reported beams in the CSI report.

[0114] FIG. 5 illustrates a schematic diagram of an example of dynamic QCL relationship indication based on a CSI report in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. The indication of QCL information may include a bitmap with K bits which can be sent in the DL signaling for indicating how to receive RSs in the RS resources, where the K bits correspond to the K SSB-RI or CRIs of predicted beams, respectively. In the bitmap, “1” of bit means that the UE may determine that the transmitted RS has same TCI state as the RS configured with the corresponding SSB-RI or CRI, and “0” of bit means that the UE may determine that R consecutive resources of the first RS resource set are transmitted with a same beam and may perform Rx beam sweeping in those resources.

[0115] In some embodiments, the RS resources in which the UE receives the RSs can be determined according to position of the bit in the bitmap. If “1” of bit is the i-th bit of  the bitmap, m-th RS resource in an occasion of the first RS resource set is used to transmit the corresponding RS, where m= (i-1) *R+1. If “0” of bit is the j-th bit of the bitmap, R consecutive CSI-RS resources from n-th CSI-RS resource in an occasion of the first RS resource set are transmitted with same Tx beam, where n= (j-1) *R+1. FIG. 5 illustrates an example of this embodiment, where K=4, R=4.

[0116] In FIG. 5, some resources including the 2nd-4th and the 6th-8th resources are skipped, because the bit value “1” means Rx beam sweeping is not performed. Alternatively, the UE may receive the RSs in consecutive RS resources in an occasion of the first RS resource set. The RSs are mapped to the consecutive RS resources according to the bitmap. If first bit of the bitmap is “1” , the corresponding RS is mapped to the first one RS resource within the consecutive RS resources; if first bit of the bitmap is “0” , R RSs used for Rx beam sweeping are mapped to the next following R consecutive RS resources within the first RS resource set. For subsequent bits within the bitmap, one or R RSs are mapped successively to subsequent one or R RS resources within the consecutive RS resources. The meanings of bit values “1” and “0” may be interchanged. In this embodiment, the UE may determine, based on a first value of a bit, a RS resource of the first RS resource set has the same QCL relationship as the RS configured with a corresponding beam. The UE may determine, based on a second value of a bit, that more than one consecutive RS resources of the first RS resource set are transmitted with a same beam.

[0117] In another option, the number of RS resources of the first RS resource set may equal to K, where K is the number of reported beams in the CSI report. The K RS resources of the first RS resource set correspond to the K SSB-RIs or CRIs of the predicted beams that are reported in the CSI report corresponding to the first CSI report configuration.

[0118] In some embodiments, the indication of QCL information may indicate TCI states using a bitmap with K bits in the DL signaling, and the K bits correspond to the K RS resources of the first RS resource, respectively.

[0119] FIG. 6 illustrates a schematic diagram of another example of dynamic QCL relationship indication based on a CSI report in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. In the bitmap, “1” of bit means that in the corresponding RS resource, the UE can receive RS for beam measurement, and the RS  resource applies the same TCI state as the RS configured with the corresponding SSB-RI or CRI, and “0” of bit means that in corresponding RS resource, the UE is not expected to receive RS for beam measurement and UE does not need to report measured result of the corresponding RS resource.

[0120] The meanings of bit values “1” and “0” may be interchanged. In this embodiment, the UE may determine, based on a first value of a bit, a corresponding RS resource of the first RS resource set has the same QCL information as the RS configured with a corresponding beam. The UE may determine, based on a second value of a bit, that a RS in a corresponding resource of the first RS resource set is not expected to be received.

[0121] There may be time requirements to be satisfied. One is a minimum time gap between the CSI report and DL signaling carrying the indication. Another is a minimum time gap between the DL signaling carrying the indication and the first occasion of the first RS resource set on which the at least one indication is valid. The former guarantees the CSI report corresponding to the indication has been decoded by NW before transmitting the DL signaling. The latter guarantees the indication takes effect after the DL signaling carrying the indication has been decoded by the UE.

[0122] FIG. 7 illustrates an example of a device that is suitable for implementing some embodiments of the present disclosure. The device 700 may be an example of a UE 104 or network entity 102 as described herein. The device 700 may support wireless communication with one or more network entities 102, UEs 104, or any combination thereof. The device 700 may include components for bi-directional communications including components for transmitting and receiving communications, such as a processor 702, a memory 704, a transceiver 706, and, optionally, an I / O controller 708. These components may be in electronic communication or otherwise coupled (e.g., operatively, communicatively, functionally, electronically, electrically) via one or more interfaces (e.g., buses) .

[0123] The processor 702, the memory 704, the transceiver 706, or various combinations thereof or various components thereof may be examples of means for performing various aspects of the present disclosure as described herein. For example, the processor 702, the memory 704, the transceiver 706, or various combinations or components thereof may support a method for performing one or more of the operations described herein.

[0124] In some implementations, the processor 702, the memory 704, the transceiver 706, or various combinations or components thereof may be implemented in hardware (e.g., in communications management circuitry) . The hardware may include a processor, a digital signal processor (DSP) , an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) , a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) or other programmable logic device, a discrete gate or transistor logic, discrete hardware components, or any combination thereof configured as or otherwise supporting a means for performing the functions described in the present disclosure. In some implementations, the processor 702 and the memory 704 coupled with the processor 702 may be configured to perform one or more of the functions described herein (e.g., executing, by the processor 702, instructions stored in the memory 704) .
