Description

[0001] DESCRIPTION

[0002] SYSTEM FOR TAKING PERIPHERAL VIEWS OF A SUBJECT

[0003] The present invention relates to a system for taking peripheral pictures of a subject in combination with a mirror incorporating a screen for alternative vision between the image reflected by the mirror and the image of the shot.

[0004] An imaging system is already known for allowing a subject to see themselves in front view and in top view. This system consists of a location for the subject with an image module comprising a semi-transparent mirror and a display screen placed behind the mirror facing the subject standing at the location. A camera looking at the back of the subject standing at the location and taking their back image and a processor controlling the operation of the image module and the camera to display on the mirror the front image of the subject alternating with the back image taken by the camera.

[0005] From US2014 / 0042670 Al we know a photo booth, comprising a rotating stool on which a person can sit to be scanned from above in order to create a 3D reproduction of the person, which is then displayed in an interface 324 outside the booth.

[0006] From JP2007221409, a shooting booth is known which allows a person to simultaneously view a plurality of images taken by the same fixed camera with different poses, in order to evaluate how to combine these different images together into a single image formed by joining together the plurality of images.

[0007] The present invention aims to develop a system allowing the presentation to a subject of one or more shots of the subject in addition to his own image in a mirror.

[0008] To this end, the invention relates to a system for presenting at least one shot according to claim 1, favorable embodiments and improvements being described in the subclaims.

[0009] An object of the invention is also a system for taking peripheral views of a subject in combination with a mirror incorporating a screen for alternative vision between the image reflected by the mirror and the images of shots displayed on the screen integrated in the mirror, system characterized in that it comprises: a location driven in rotation for the subject, a lighting assembly distributed around the location, a mirror incorporating a display screen for presenting the image of the mirror and for displaying the images obtained from the views of a camera equipment facing the subject for taking peripheral views of the subject in different rotational positions of the location, a background facing the camera equipment beyond the location of the subject, a management unit comprising an image processing unit and a control unit for receiving the commands and providing images from the processing of the views, these images being capable of being displayed and control signals for shooting and lighting as well as displaying the images and training the location of the subject.,

[0010] Thus, the invention makes it possible to take a sequence of images under identical conditions of the subject who is presented at different angles of rotation in front of the camera, in particular simultaneously with his own image in the mirror or in succession with his own image.

[0011] The lighting is adjusted for this shooting position through which the subject rotates. This ensures better quality and good homogeneity of the subject's images. Installation and positioning in relation to the subject are simplified.

[0012] According to another advantageous feature, the lighting equipment includes lighting units distributed around the location, adjustable in intensity and color.

[0013] According to another advantageous feature, the lighting equipment

[0014] The various means of the invention are simply adjusted in relation to the subject in its rotational position facing the camera; this does not require modifications to the settings as would be necessary for a camera rotating around the subject and which, itself, would be in a fixed position.

[0015] According to another advantageous characteristic, the mirror has a part for the presentation of the mirror image of the subject and integrating a screen, the part of the mirror being semi-transparent.

[0016] In particular, the mirror has a portion for presenting the image of the subject, this portion being bordered on at least one side by a portion incorporating a screen, this or these mirror portions being semi-transparent.

[0017] According to another characteristic, the management module comprises an interface, an image processing unit and a control unit, the transmission of signals being done by any suitable means, aerial such as wifi or bluetooth or similar, or by cables or similar.

[0018] Finally, the background comprises a neutral surface capable of receiving a decor, which makes it possible to integrate the sequence of images of the subject into an environment. The present invention will be described below in more detail using an embodiment of a peripheral shooting system shown in the accompanying drawings in which:

[0019] [Fig. 1] plan diagram of a shooting system according to the invention, [Fig. 2] diagram of the plate and the different rotation positions, [Fig. 3] diagram of a mirror.

[0020] Figure 1 shows the diagram of a peripheral shooting system 100 in a room for taking pictures of a subject S installed on a location 1 formed by a plate 11 driven in rotation on command to turn the subject facing shooting equipment 4.

[0021] The system 100 comprises a lighting assembly 2 composed of different lighting units 21, 22, 23, 24, around the location 1, for example, in the corners of the room.

[0022] The system 100 is completed by a mirror 3 facing the location 1 of the subject. This mirror 3 integrates a video screen for displaying the image(s) obtained from the views taken by the equipment 4, the system ensuring that the subject can see the image(s) displayed by the screen in or through a semi-transparent part of the mirror, without seeing his own image IMo in the mirror or see his own image without seeing the image(s) displayed by the screen, the system being able in particular, for this purpose, to control the lighting accordingly. According to another possible embodiment, the system ensures that the subject sees both his image Imo in a non-semi-transparent part of the mirror and, next to this image IMo, the image(s) displayed by the screen in or through a semi-transparent part of the mirror.

[0023] The shooting equipment 4 installed facing the subject S, preferably not facing the mirror 3, comprises a camera 41 with a support 42 adjustable in height and orientation and a control unit 43 for the support and the camera 41. The views Vi taken by the camera 41 can preferably be in agreement with the image IMo of the mirror when the subject is in place in front of the mirror 3 before any rotation of the plate 11, that is to say when the plate is in its rest position Po.

[0024] For this, the camera 41 can be adjusted in orientation in accordance with the position of the subject S, for example, standing or sitting at location 1 So that the camera is, preferably, at a height equal to that of the eyes of the subject S who will not be disturbed when displaying the images li obtained from the views Vi taken by the camera 41.

[0025] The settings are made by a control unit 61 which receives the commands from a management unit 6 to act on the camera 41 and its support 42. A background 5 is facing the shooting equipment 4, beyond the location 1 to take views of the subject (S) on a neutral surface 51 possibly replaced by a decor 52.

[0026] The peripheral image capture system 100 is managed by a management unit 6 comprising an image processing unit 61 receiving the views Vi from the image capture equipment 4 and processing them to generate images li transmitted to the screen, integrated into the mirror 3 or positioned at the rear of the latter, for their display.

[0027] The management unit 6 also comprises a control unit 62 which receives the commands Ci from a program or from the subject S or from an operator to activate the various elements of the system, in particular the rotation of the tray 11, the operation of the lighting assembly 2 by activating the lighting units 21...24 as a function of the subject S or its rotation position and for the display or not by the screen of the images li obtained from the views Vi.

[0028] The control unit 6 manages the combined operation of the shooting equipment 4 and that of the background 5 which can be a background with a surface 51 provided with a particular decoration 52 intended to be integrated into the image(s) 11. The image processing unit 62 can also integrate a decoration into the images it receives, the background 5 then being a neutral background.

[0029] The controlled lighting equipment 2 provides fixed, continuous or variable lighting of the subject S by the intensity of the lighting, the orientation of the beams on the subject and the nature of the light emitted by each of the lighting units 21-24.

[0030] The lighting equipment 2 is represented schematically by the separate lighting units 21-24. It can also be constituted by peripheral lighting activated globally, or locally depending on the rotation position of the subject S, i.e. of the stage 11.

[0031] The lighting equipment is in particular controlled so that when facing the mirror, in a first lighting state, the subject sees his image in the mirror and does not see the image displayed by the screen located in the mirror or behind it, and in a second lighting state, the subject does not see his image in the mirror, but sees the image displayed by the screen located in the mirror or behind it.

[0032] The operation of the system 100 is ensured by a program for automatic operation of a shooting sequence, or the control by the subject S which activates the rotation of the plate 11, its stopping, its direction of rotation and, if necessary, it intervenes on the shooting by the lighting assembly 2 or the shooting equipment 4 for close-up or overall views Vi of the subject S in the different rotation positions of the plate 11. The control by the subject S also allows him to display, after a sequence of shots and return of the subject to position Po, facing the mirror 3, the images li or sets of images on the screen integrated in the mirror 3 by, for example, alternating the processed images li with the image IMo reflected by the mirror 3 or to display only the processed images li.

[0033] In more detail, the location 1 consists of a rotating plate 11 on which the subject S stands; it is rotated on command around the axis ZZ, by a drive unit 12 with an electric motor. The rotating plate 11 is driven according to different operating modes, generally for one revolution, for example:

[0034] - continuously,

[0035] - in step-by-step mode,

[0036] - on one or more fixed positions, for example different predefined angular positions considered to be particularly interesting positions such as:

[0037] * three-quarter front views from one side or the other of the median plane of the subject S,

[0038] * three-quarter rear views on either side of the median plane of the subject S,

[0039] * rear views of subject S, to have characteristic views when it is not useful to have many intermediate views or a continuous scrolling of views.

[0040] Figure 2 shows a diagram of different positions and the organization of shots.

[0041] In principle, a sequence of shots corresponds to a rotation of the plate 11 of 360°, (for example, in the clockwise direction SH) in the reference frame of axes XX and YY around the vertical axis ZZ:

[0042] - axis XX is that of the rest position Po of plate 11, facing mirror 3,

[0043] - the YY axis, for example perpendicular to the XX axis, is that of the shooting equipment 4 and at its opposite, beyond location 1, the background 5 which appears on the views,

[0044] - the ZZ axis is the rotation axis of location 1.

[0045] The arrangement of the various components of the installation in the room around location 1 is given as an example.

[0046] For practical reasons, the camera 41 of the shooting equipment 4 is not facing the subject S at the rest position Po of the plate 11 because of the space required for the mirror 3 facing the subject S in this position.

[0047] In general, since the images li obtained from the views Vi are intended to be viewed by the subject S installed on the stage 11 in a standing or sitting position, the height of the subject's eyes fixes the shooting height so that the images li can be displayed on the screen and viewed in the same way as the image IMo returned by the mirror 3.

[0048] For this reason, the mirror 3 preferably has dimensions that allow the image IMo of the subject to be presented standing and has an appropriate height, knowing that the surface occupied by the image in the plane of the mirror 3 corresponds to half the total height of the subject in his standing or sitting position; this rule also applies to the width.

[0049] The part 31 of the mirror 3 cannot be occupied by the equipment 4 which must be shifted from this position according to the possibilities and advantages linked to these. In the example, the shift is 90° so that the subject S will only be taken in front view after a 90° rotation of the plate 11. This shift has no effect in itself on the sequences of views Vi whose shooting begins with the view V90 which is 90° ahead of the front view VI 80 of the subject.

[0050] The angle a of the plate 11 relative to the rest position (Po) is used as an index to locate the views, for example the view V90 is the view of the subject at the rest position Po of the location, the equipment 4 being offset by 90° (YY axis relative to the position Po) of the location 1.

[0051] To simplify the description, it is assumed that the images are taken with an angular resolution of 1° and thus the sequence of images on a tour will be composed of the views V0-V360 0 , the index being the rotation angle of the plate.

[0052] The shift between the mirror image IMo of the subject S facing mirror 3 at the rest position Po and the first view V90 corresponds to the shift ôo=90°. The sequence of views identified in relation to the four cardinal points of the plateau Po, P90, P180, P270, for the shift ôa, gives the following succession of views: V90-V180-V270-V0-V89 For the views of the cardinal points of the plateau V90-V180-V270-V0-V89 and the same for the intermediate views.

[0053] The sequence of views Vi is processed by the processing unit 61 for a coherent display of the images li on the screen integrated in the mirror 3:

[0054] - the views Vi are direct views which must be transformed into mirror images Fi by a left-right inversion so that when displayed on the screen of mirror 3, the image of the view Vi li has the same orientation as the image IMo of the subject S in mirror 3.

[0055] The scale of the image li must also be reduced to the size of the image IMo (%) of the subject S, adapted according to the distance between the shooting equipment 4 and the subject S. The order in the sequence is preferably brought into line with the scrolling of the views by correcting the offset ôa so that the scrolling of the views facing the subject S standing on the plate 11 at the rest position Po begins with the view V90, the section of views V0-V89 being placed behind the sequence of views V90-V359. The images li obtained by processing the views li will be numbered in order starting with the image lo of view 90 which is the front view of the subject S.

[0056] The scrolling of the images li in front of the subject S in the resting position Po can be done in the clockwise direction (SH) or counter-clockwise direction (SCH) continuously or at preselected angular positions.

[0057] If the resolution of the li images is sufficient, the display on the screen can also benefit from an enlargement option to view details of the li images.

[0058] The different images li which are the peripheral images of the same attitude of the subject S allow him to see or correct the arrangement of the parts of the clothing or in the case of an actor, to correct certain attitudes for his exercise or for images which will be used as documents.

[0059] The various front views or images from three-quarter or other angles allow you to select the most interesting images, for example, for images intended for display or printing.

[0060] The control of the movement of the platform 11 and the various equipment 2, 3, 4 is done by a remote control connected to the management unit 6 and integrated in the location 11, for example, a remote control that can be held by the subject or a foot control. This control can also be done by an operator or automatically by a program. The transmission of the control signals of the various equipment is done for example by wifi, bluetooth or similar, or by cables or similar.

[0061] The lighting equipment 2 consists, for example, of lighting units 21-24 distributed around the location 1 and making it possible to illuminate, in a controlled manner, the intensity, the orientation and the color of the lighting of the subject S to emphasize this or that part of the subject in its instantaneous position facing the shooting equipment 4, to obtain different technical effects or image qualities.

[0062] The shape of the lighting of the subject S can accompany it during its rotation or be variable according to the part of the subject exposed to the shooting equipment 4 or be adapted to the part of the subject presented in front of the equipment 4, in particular if a certain view is zoomed, to present a part of the clothing or clothing accessories of the subject facing the equipment 4. According to figure 3, the mirror 3 integrating a video screen can present the image of the mirror alternating with the images li or in combination with them.

[0063] For alternate viewing, part 31 of the mirror facing the subject S in position Po incorporates a video screen 31a; this part 31 must then be semi-transparent.

[0064] For the combined vision, the part 31 of the mirror directly facing the subject S is limited to the surface necessary for the presentation of the image of the subject by the mirror; the mirror parts 32, 33 laterally bordering this central part 31 integrate a video screen 32a, 33a to display views Vi allowing the direct comparison of the images li and the image IMo of the subject installed at the location 1. This allows the subject to modify the attitude, the arrangement of the clothes or accessories and to make a new sequence of shots for a new comparative study of the results on the images li. For advertising images, the lighting, shooting angles, zooms and other photographic effects will be modified and will allow a selection of the most appropriate views.

[0065] For the shots, the background 5 can remain a neutral surface 51 and a decor 52 can be chosen and then integrated into the views Vi. With a background 5 with decor presented behind the subject, the decor will be integrated directly into the views and will allow adaptations, modifications of the decor and the subject, of these clothes and accessories directly, in the views Vi taken with the decor 52 of the background 5.

[0066] The present invention finds its application in particular in the field of fitting rooms, allowing a person trying on an item of clothing to see themselves, with this item of clothing in all directions, in sports halls, in particular bodybuilding halls, in the medical and / or aesthetic field and other similar applications.

[0067] In particular, artificial intelligence or any other intelligence can be implemented in the mirror to create a multitude of actions and applications capable of modifying, through editors, the video stream or the displayed images in any way. The edited video streams or images of the object in front of the mirror can be seen on the screen in real time or received at a specifically mentioned address, instantly or on command. These functions can be processed by all the cameras installed and connected to this mirror screen. This can be one or more cameras, depending on the needs. There are also light points that can be installed anywhere near the mirror, so that the person looking in the mirror can see himself clearly enough thanks to this light, and this light is connected to the processor and the processor controls the lighting power from minimum to maximum so that the image is illuminated to the maximum, and vice versa, not very illuminated - so that it does not interfere with the mirror screen when it turns on; that is, when a mirror monitor displays images, the light minimizes its illumination, and when the screen is in mirror or reflection mode, the light shines to the maximum, this best decreases the reflection on the mirror.

[0068] Near the mirror, a source can be provided that can broadcast sound and audio, loud or quiet, in any format, depending on the commands given by the user in front of the mirror. In addition to the one-way or semi-transparent mirror, or instead of it, "smart" glass can be used, which can also change transparency or color, while maintaining its reflective properties, its perception of reflection, if necessary.

[0069] Closing the shutter when stopped, the camera, or cameras or a small shutter closing the camera lens, according to the user command, can be replaced by a smart glass that changes transparency or color, or by any other means, other possibilities of covering the lens so as to make it totally or partially invisible.

[0070] An unlimited number of video cameras or photo cameras, or any other video or multimedia source, can be placed on the perimeter above, below, to the left or right of the person looking in the mirror or a single camera at the back, without angle restrictions, which allows the image of the person looking in the mirror to be broadcast / transmitted from all angles, on the mirror screen. This can be controlled using existing sensors or user-controlled buttons. These cameras can be attached or fixed on rails. They can also fly thanks to propellers, a technology similar to that used by drones / quadcopters.

[0071] The shooting equipment, camera, camcorder or the like may also be equipped with an automatic zoom function which allows the image displayed on the screen to be enlarged or reduced, so that the image on the mirror becomes larger or smaller.

[0072] The mirror may also be equipped with a touchscreen to control a wide range of functions and applications. This will be made possible by any technology that allows this function to be operated by directly touching the screen surface. A mobile phone's remote control and applications could also control the mirror's functions. The screen may also display a background allowing the person to see themselves on the mirror screen at a different desired time and in a different location. In order to create this background or backdrop, artificial intelligence capabilities or other applications may be used.

[0073] A sound recording source, such as a microphone or other analog sound recording device, may be used. The sound recording source, microphone, or other analog sound recording device may be used for any purpose requiring voice commands. Any other application may be integrated into the operation of the system according to the invention. For example, the use of Apple (registered trademark) or Google (registered trademark) Siri, Chat GPT (registered trademark), or any other voice assistant will allow the system to be turned on or off, the lights to be turned off, or any other command. They may also be used to rotate the image 360°, turn on the light, or any other command that allows the person to more easily use all the functions of the system.

[0074] The system can be connected to the internet, using all the possibilities that the internet has, which will allow to perform all the functions available through the internet connection, functions that will allow to connect to someone, regardless of location or distance. It is also possible to install two or three other mirrors of the same model, next to or parallel to each other, or in any other place at any angle, so that, for example, in the fitting rooms of clothing stores that are located next to each other and one after the other, it is possible to install mirrors that have mirror screens on both sides, or that are connected in parallel, in order to save on installation costs, two mirrors will be installed at the same time, but this is only one of the possibilities, since it is possible to install the mirrors separately. This function will be useful in the fitting rooms. These mirrors can be installed in pairs, but separated by a wall, and all mirrors can be the same or similar, have the same or similar functions and characteristics.

[0075] Video or photo cameras can be powered directly by cables and the electrical network, or by batteries, and instead of cables to transmit information, they will be able to transmit all the material by air, that is, by any possible means. This system is a processor, which allows you to install any program or application and display the final result on the screen, or any other function.

[0076] The camera(s) can be equipped with one or more lights so that, when taking videos or photos, everything the camera has captured is clearly visible. However, the camera(s) can also be used without lights.

[0077] The video stream can be edited using various programs or artificial intelligence, so that the displayed video stream shows one of the possible results after editing the video stream, which will be displayed in real time or not. There are also one or more light sources of any type, as well as various light sources next to buttons or on / off sensors. According to one embodiment, more than one camera can be provided. On the other hand, the camera, when mobile, can be mounted on a drone or carried by a third party.
