AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

The existing fiber optic adapters and assemblies occupy excessive space due to the presence of a mounting housing, leading to larger dimensions in both axial and radial directions when connected to fiber optic connectors and boxes.

Method used

The fiber optic adapter comprises an inner adapter partially positioned inside an outer adapter, with a limiting structure to prevent axial movement and a buffer groove to limit circumferential rotation, reducing the space occupied by the connection by eliminating the need for an external mounting housing and allowing flexible coupling with the fiber optic connector.

Benefits of technology

The solution effectively reduces the space occupied by the connection, enhances stability and flexibility, and prevents damage during assembly by allowing the inner adapter to slide and rotate within the outer adapter, ensuring a stable and compact fit.

Description

FIBER OPTIC ADAPTER AND FIBER OPTIC ASSEMBLYTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of fiber-optic communication physical connection, and in particular, to a fiber optic adapter and a fiber optic assembly.BACKGROUND

[0002] A fiber optic adapter is used to quickly connect a fiber optic connector, so that optical signals can form a continuous optical path. Generally, after the fiber optic connector is connected to the fiber optic adapter, a mounting housing is provided at an end of the fiber optic connector for easy insertion and removal.

[0003] However, due to the existence of the mounting housing, a distance between the fiber optic connector and the fiber optic adapter after connection in an axial direction and a radial direction is larger, when assembled with a fiber optic box, the connected fiber optic connector and fiber optic adapter will occupy a larger space in the fiber optic box, and when the fiber optic adapter is directly connected to another fiber optic connector without passing through the fiber optic box, the fiber optic adapter also occupies a space due to overlong connection part.

[0004] Therefore, how to reduce the length after the fiber optic adapter is connected to the fiber optic connector and reduce the space occupied by the connection part become technical problems to be solved urgently.SUMMARY

[0005] The present application provides a fiber optic adapter and a fiber optic assembly, which aim to solve the technical problem that a connection part after the fiber optic adapter is connected to a fiber optic connector occupies a larger space.

[0006] In one aspect, the present application provides a fiber optic adapter. One end of the fiber optic adapter is connected to the fiber optic assembly, the other end of the fiber optic adapter is connected to a fiber optic connector, the fiber optic assembly comprises a connecting head and a fiber optic cable, and the fiber optic adapter comprises an outer adapter and an inner adapter at least partially positioned inside the outer adapter, wherein: at least part of the connecting head is positioned inside the inner adapter and is directly connected to the inner adapter; the inner adapter is provided with a limiting structure that cooperates with the outer adapter, and the limiting structure is configured to limit an axial movement between the inner adapter and the outer adapter; and the inner adapter is further provided with a buffer groove, the outer adapter is provided with a protrusion, the buffer groove cooperates with the protrusion to limit a circumferential rotation between the inner adapter and the outer adapter, and when the fiber optic adapter is coupled with the fiber optic connector, the inner adapter moves through the buffer groove to enable the fiber optic adapter to be flexibly coupled with the fiber optic connector.

[0007] In another aspect, the present application further provides a fiber optic assembly. The fiber optic assembly is configured to connect to the fiber optic adapter, the fiber optic assembly comprises a connecting head, a fiber optic cable and a ceramic ferrule, the ceramic ferrule is positioned inside the connecting head, and the fiber optic cable is tightly connected to the ceramic ferrule.

[0008] Compared with the prior art, the above technical solution provided by an embodiment of the present application has the following advantages.

[0009] Two ends of the fiber optic adapter are configured to connect to a fiber optic device, wherein one end of the fiber optic adapter is connected to a fiber optic assembly that cooperates with the adapter provided in this solution, and the other end of the fiber optic adapter is connected to a fiber optic connector. The space occupied by the connection part in the axial direction and the radial direction can be reduced after the fiber optic adapter cooperates with the fiber optic assembly. The fiber optic adapter is connected to the fiber optic assembly and then connected to the fiber optic connector, wherein the fiber optic adapter can be directly connected to the fiber optic connector and can also be connected to the fiber optic connector through the fiber optic box.

[0010] In this solution, the fiber optic adapter comprises an inner adapter and an outer adapter, the inner adapter is at least partially arranged inside the outer adapter, the inner adapter replaces the role of the mounting housing in the prior art, and the mounting housing at the end of the fiber optic assembly in the prior art is directly mounted inside the fiber optic adapter, so that the fiber optic assembly is directly connected to the fiber optic adapter through the inner adapter; in addition, the inner adapter is arranged inside the fiber optic adapter, which avoids the mounting housing from cooperating with the fiber optic adapter, thereby reducing a size of the connection in the axial direction and the radial direction. Meanwhile, in order to be mounted in cooperation with the fiber optic adapter, the fiber optic assembly removes an external mounting housing and is only provided with a connecting head, a fiber optic cable and a ceramic ferrule. During mounting, the connecting head of the fiber optic assembly can directly extend into the inner adapter and is connected to the fiber optic adapter, so that a mounting housing structure is removed, the structure for connecting the fiber optic assembly and the fiber optic adapter is reduced, and the space is saved.

[0011] Further, since at least part of the inner adapter is sleeved inside the outer adapter, to enable the inner adapter to be connected in cooperation with the outer adapter in the fiber optic adapter to prevent the inner adapter from sliding out, and the inner adapter is provided with a limiting structure to limit the axial movement of the inner adapter and prevent the inner adapter from sliding out inside the outer adapter. In addition, the inner adapter may rotate along an axial direction of the inner adapter inside the outer adapter, so that the inner adapter is also provided with a buffer groove, the outer adapter is also provided with a protrusion, and the buffer groove is arranged along the axial direction of the inner adapter. Through the cooperation between the buffer groove and the protrusion, the inner adapter and the outer adapter can only slide relative to each other in the axial direction along the buffer groove, thereby limiting the circumferential rotation of the inner adapter. To avoid damage to the fiber optic adapter due to the rigid connection between the inner adapter and the outer adapter during mounting, a buffer groove is provided on an outer peripheral side of the inner adapter, so that the inner adapter slides inside the outer adapter along the buffer groove during mounting, the inner adapter and the outer adapter are flexibly connected, and damage caused by the rigid connection is avoided.

[0012] In this solution, the arrangement of the limiting structure ensures that the inner adapter and the outer adapter are stably connected, and the inner adapter cannot slide out inside the outer adapter; the arrangement of the buffer groove enables the flexible connection between the inner adapter and the outer adapter, and the flexible connection between the inner adapter and the outer adapter ensures that the fiber optic adapter cannot be damaged during mounting, so that the matching between the inner adapter and the outer adapter is more stable.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0025] FIG. 11 is a schematic diagram of a structure of a fiber optic assembly in the prior art.DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS

[0026] All other embodiments obtained by those of ordinary skill in the art based on the embodiments of the present application without creative efforts shall fall within the protection scope of the present application.

[0027] Referring to FIG. 10, when the conventional fiber optic adapter is connected to a fiber optic assembly, a mounting housing is provided at an end portion with which the fiber optic assembly cooperates, and a connecting head, a ceramic ferrule and a fiber optic cable are provided inside the mounting housing. Therefore, in the prior art, when the fiber optic assembly cooperates with the fiber optic adapter, since the mounting housing at the end portion of the fiber optic assembly is large, only part of the mounting housing can extend into the fiber optic adapter, and the rest part of the mounting housing is exposed outside the fiber optic adapter, consequently, the size of the fiber optic assembly after connection in the axial direction is large. In addition, adiameter of the mounting housing is large, and a diameter of the cooperating end of the fiber optic adapter also needs to be designed into a large size; consequently, the size of the connection part between the fiber optic adapter and the fiber optic assembly is large, the occupied space is large, and space waste is caused.

[0028] To solve the technical problem that the occupied space is too large after the fiber optic adapter is connected to the fiber optic assembly in the prior art, the present application provides a fiber optic adapter and a fiber optic assembly, which can achieve the technical effect of reducing the size of the connection part between the fiber optic assembly and the fiber optic adapter.

[0029] In an embodiment, the present application provides a fiber optic adapter 100. Referring to FIGs. 1 to 3, one end of the fiber optic adapter 100 is connected to the fiber optic assembly 200, the other end of the fiber optic adapter 100 is connected to a fiber optic connector 300, the fiber optic assembly 200 comprises a connecting head 210 and a fiber optic cable 220, and the fiber optic adapter 100 comprises an outer adapter 110 and an inner adapter 120 at least partially positioned inside the outer adapter 110, wherein: at least part of the connecting head 210 is positioned inside the inner adapter 120 and is directly connected to the inner adapter 120; the inner adapter 120 is provided with a limiting structure 130 that cooperates with the outer adapter 110, and the limiting structure 130 is configured to limit an axial movement between the inner adapter 120 and the outer adapter 110; and the inner adapter 120 is further provided with a buffer groove 121, the outer adapter 110 is provided with a protrusion 111, the buffer groove 121 cooperates with the protrusion 111 to limit a circumferential rotation between the inner adapter 120 and the outer adapter 110, and when the fiber optic adapter 100 is coupled with the fiber optic connector 300, the inner adapter 120 moves through the buffer groove 121 to enable the fiber optic adapter 100 to be flexibly coupled with the fiber optic connector 300.

[0030] Specifically, two ends of the fiber optic adapter 100 are configured to connect a fiber optic device, wherein one end of the fiber optic adapter 100 is connected to the fiber optic assembly 200 that cooperates with the adapter provided in this solution, and the space occupied by the connection part in the axial direction and the radial direction can be reduced after the inner adapter 120 in the fiber optic adapter 100 is directly connected to the fiber optic assembly 200. The fiber optic adapter 100 is connected to the fiber optic assembly 200 and then connected to the fiber optic connector 300. When connected to the fiber optic connector 300, in one aspect, the fiber optic adapter can be directly connected to the fiber optic connector 300, and in another aspect, the fiber optic adapter is connected to the fiber optic connector 300 through the fiber optic box 400.

[0031] When the fiber optic adapter is directly connected to the fiber optic connector 300, one end of the fiber optic adapter 100 is connected to the fiber optic assembly 200, and the other end is directly connected to the fiber optic connector 300, and the fiber optic connector 300 is coupled with the ceramic ferrule 230 inside the fiber optic assembly 200 in the fiber optic adapter 100. When the fiber optic adapter is connected to the fiber optic connector 300 through the fiber optic box 400, one end of the fiber optic adapter 100 is connected to the fiber optic assembly 200 and then arranged on a box body of the fiber optic box 400, and the other end of the fiber optic adapter 100 is coupled with the fiber optic connector 300.

[0032] An end portion of the fiber optic assembly 200 in this solution is a connecting head 210, the ceramic ferrule 230 is arranged inside the connecting head 210, and the structure of the mounting housing 500 is no longer arranged outside the connecting head 210. FIG. 10 shows a fiber optic assembly 200 with a mounting housing 500 in the prior art, and FIG. 9 shows a fiber optic assembly 200 with a mounting housing 500 removed in this solution. In addition, an inner adapter 120 is provided in this solution. The connecting head 210 directly extends into the inner adapter 120 and is directly connected to the inner adapter 120, so that the solution that the mounting housing 500 is sleeved outside the connecting head 210 and then connected to the fiber optic adapter 100 is avoided; the connecting head 210 is directly connected to the inner adapter 120, so that the space occupied by the connection part is reduced, the size of the fiber optic adapter 100 is further reduced, the usage scenario of the fiber optic connector 300 is more flexible, and unnecessary space waste is avoided.

[0033] Further, since at least part of the inner adapter 120 is sleeved inside the outer adapter 110, to enable the inner adapter 120 to be connected in cooperation with the outer adapter 110 in the fiber optic adapter 100 to prevent the inner adapter 120 from sliding out, and the inner adapter 120 is provided with a limiting structure 130, referring to FIG. 4, to limit the axial movement of the inner adapter 120 and prevent the inner adapter from sliding out inside the outer adapter 110.

[0034] The inner adapter 120 may rotate along an axial direction of the inner adapter inside the outer adapter 110, so that the inner adapter 120 is also provided with a buffer groove 121, referring to FIGs. 4 and 5, the outer adapter 110 is also provided with a protrusion 111, and the buffer groove 121 is arranged along the axial direction of the inner adapter 120. Through the cooperation between the buffer groove 121 and the protrusion 111, the inner adapter 120 and the outer adapter 110 can only slide relative to each other in the axial direction along the buffer groove 121, thereby limiting the circumferential rotation of the inner adapter 120, and the buffer groove 121 enables flexible connection between the inner adapter 120 and the outer adapter 110. To avoid damage to the fiber optic adapter 100 due to the rigid connection between the inner adapter 120 and the outer adapter 110 during mounting, a buffer groove 121 is provided on an outer peripheral side of the inner adapter 120, so that the inner adapter 120 slides inside the outer adapter 110 along the buffer groove 121 during mounting, the inner adapter 120 and the outer adapter 110 are flexibly connected, and damage caused by the rigid connection is avoided.

[0035] In this solution, the inner adapter 120 is provided inside the outer adapter 110. The inner adapter 120 cannot rotate along a circumferential direction, nor can the inner adapter slide out inside the outer adapter 110 along an axial direction of the outer adapter 110. However, the inner adapter 120 can slightly slide in the axial direction so as to play a buffering role during mounting, so that the connection between the inner adapter 120 and the outer adapter 110 is more stable and more flexible.

[0036] Further, referring to FIG. 4, the limiting structure 130 comprises: an abutting member 131, wherein the abutting member 131 abuts against the outer adapter 110; and an elastic member 132, wherein the elastic member 132 is sleeved on an outer side of the inner adapter 120, one end of the elastic member 132 abuts against the inner adapter 120, and the other end abuts against the outer adapter 110.

[0037] Specifically, the limiting structure 130 mainly comprises an abutting member 131 and an elastic member 132, the elastic member 132 is sleeved at an outer peripheral side of the inner adapter 120, the elastic member 132 is specifically a spring and may be made of other elastic materials, the inner adapter 120 drives the spring to move after receiving an external force, and the spring will also drive the inner adapter 120 to slide after receiving an extrusion force, so that the inner adapter 120 returns to its original position.

[0038] At least part of the inner adapter 120 is sleeved inside the outer adapter 110, one end of the inner adapter 120 is arranged inside the outer adapter 110, the other end of the inner adapter is exposed outside the outer adapter 110, and the exposed part is connected to the fiber optic assembly 200. An end portion that is of the outer adapter 110 and that is close to the fiber optic assembly 200 is provided with a first abutting portion 114, the first abutting portion 114 is arranged at an edge of the outer adapter 110 and is formed by bending the housing of the outer adapter 110 inwards, the first abutting portion 114 reduces the caliber size of the end portion of the outer adapter 110 and tightly cooperates with the inner adapter 120 exposed outside, and after the elastic member 132 is sleeved with the inner adapter 120, one end of the elastic member 132 abuts against the first abutting portion 114 of the outer adapter 110.

[0039] One end that is of the inner adapter 120 and that is arranged inside the outer adapter 110 is provided with a second abutting portion 123, and the second abutting portion 123 is arranged at an end portion of the inner adapter 120 and protrudes outward along the circumferential direction of the inner adapter 120, so that the elastic member 132 can abut against the second abutting portion 123 when sleeved outside the inner adapter 120. It may be understood that the first abutting portion 114 can also be arranged at other positions on an inner side wall of the outer adapter 110, so that the elastic member 132 abuts against the first abutting portion 114.

[0040] Through the arrangement between the first abutting portion 114 and the second abutting portion 123, the inner adapter 120 is prevented from slipping out from one side that is of the outer adapter 110 and that is close to the fiber optic assembly 200, the elastic member 132 also enables the flexible cooperation between the inner adapter 120 and the outer adapter 110, and the flexible cooperation can resist a certain degree of external disturbance during mounting.

[0041] However, two ends of the outer adapter 110 are provided with openings, and the inner adapter 120 may still slide out from one side that is far away from the fiber optic assembly 200; therefore, an abutting member 131 is also provided. When the connecting head 210 of the fiber optic assembly 200 is inserted into the inner adapter 120, the abutting member 131 can be supported by the internal connecting head 210, so as to limit inward contraction of the abutting member 131. The abutting member 131 is expanded outward and can abut against the first abutting portion 114, so that the inner adapter 120 is clamped with the outer adapter 110, and the inner adapter 120 is prevented from sliding out from one side that is far away from the fiber optic assembly 200.

[0042] It may be understood that, without considering that the elastic member 132 is sleeved outside the inner adapter 120, only the inner adapter 120 is fixedly connected to the outer adapter 110, and multiple forms of clamping members may be provided between the outer side wall of the inner adapter 120 and the inner side wall of the outer adapter 110. For example, a protrusion 111 is provided on the outer side wall of the inner adapter 120, a groove that cooperates with the inner side wall of the outer adapter 110 is provided on the inner side wall of the outer adapter, or the inner adapter 120 is in threaded connection with the outer adapter 110.

[0043] In this embodiment, since the elastic member 132 limits the removal of the inner adapter 120 from one end, the abutting member 131 is provided to abut against the first abutting portion 114 of the outer adapter 110, and the removal of the inner adapter 120 from the other end can be limited. The abutting member 131 protrudes outward from the outer side wall of the inner adapter 120. After the outer peripheral side of the inner adapter 120 tightly cooperates with the first abutting portion 114, the protruded abutting member 131 limits the inner adapter 120 from sliding out from one end that is of the outer adapter 110 and that is far away from the fiber optic assembly 200.

[0044] Specifically, a surface of the inner adapter 120 is provided with an opening 133, the abutting portion 211 is arranged at the opening 133 and connected to an edge of the opening 133, a front end face of the abutting portion 211 is an inclined plane and has a slope design, and a rear end face is vertical, which facilitates the insertion of the rear end of the inner adapter 120 into the opening 133 and prevents from falling out of the inner adapter 120. It may be understood that a plurality of openings 133 and abutting members 131 may be provided on the inner adapter 120, preferably two symmetrical openings 133 and abutting members 131 are provided.

[0045] In this embodiment, through the cooperation between the first abutting portion 114, the second abutting portion 123, the abutting member 131 and the elastic member 132, the inner adapter 120 is flexibly connected to the outer adapter 110, and the inner adapter 120 will not slide out from the outer adapter 110. Further, the abutting member 131 is provided to further limit the axial movement between the inner adapter 120 and the outer adapter 110, so that the inner adapter 120 cooperates better with the outer adapter 110, and the structural stability of the fiber optic adapter 100 can be improved.

[0046] In an embodiment, the abutting member 131 at least partially protrudes from an outer side wall of the inner adapter 120 and abuts against an end face that is of the outer adapter 110 and that is close to an end of the fiber optic assembly 200.

[0047] Specifically, an end face of one end that is of the outer adapter 110 and that is close to the fiber optic assembly 200 is provided with a first abutting portion 114, the first abutting portion 114 is arranged at an edge of the outer adapter 110 and is formed by bending the housing of the outer adapter 110 inwards, and the first abutting portion 114 reduces the caliber size of the end portion of the outer adapter 110 and tightly cooperates with the inner adapter 120 exposed outside.

[0048] In this embodiment, the first abutting portion 114 is formed by bending the housing at the end portion of the outer adapter 110, which avoids the need to provide the first abutting portion 114 inside the outer adapter 110 and reduces the difficulty of processing. In addition, the cooperation between the abutting member 131 and the first abutting portion 114 is also arranged outside the outer adapter 110, so that the observation is facilitated, the subsequent cooperation between the inner adapter 120 and the connecting head 210 is also facilitated, and the subsequent mounting of the connecting head 210 is facilitated.

[0049] Further, the limiting structure 130 comprises an abutting member 131, the connecting head 210 is provided with an abutting portion 211, and the abutting portion 211 abuts against the abutting member 131 to fix the connecting head 210 inside the inner adapter 120.

[0050] Specifically, the abutting member 131 is arranged at the opening 133, one end of the abutting member 131 is connected to a side edge of the opening 133, and the abutting member 131 is arranged at the opening 133 and leaves a space from an edge of the opening 133. The surface of the connecting head 210 is provided with an abutting portion 211, the abutting portion 211 protrudes towards one side of the inner adapter 120, the position of the abutting portion 211 corresponds to the position of the opening 133, and the abutting portion 211 can protrude to the position of the opening 133 and abut against the abutting member 131 at the opening 133, so that the connecting head 210 is connected in cooperation with the inner adapter 120.

[0051] Further, the abutting member 131 is arranged at the position of the opening 133, when the inner adapter 120 is mounted in cooperation with the connecting head 210, the connecting head 210 mainly abuts against the abutting member 131 at the position of the opening 133, and a space between the abutting member 131 and the edge of the opening 133 is a space left for the abutting portion 211 to protrude toward the inner adapter 120 and to abut in cooperation with the abutting member 131.

[0052] When the inner adapter 120 is mounted in cooperation with the outer adapter 110, the abutting member 131 on the inner adapter 120 can abut against the outer adapter 110 again, so that the movement of the inner adapter 120 is limited. When the inner adapter 120 is mounted, the inner adapter 120 is inserted from a caliber on one side that is of the outer adapter 110 and that is far away from the fiber optic assembly 200 and extends from a caliber on one side that is close to the fiber optic assembly 200. When the inner adapter 120 is inside the outer adapter 110, the abutting member 131 can be deformed by the extrusion of the side wall of the outer adapter 110, and the abutting member can be deformed to an inner side of the inner adapter 120. When the inner adapter 120 is mounted in cooperation with the connecting head 210, the abutting member 131 is deformed from the position of the opening 133 to the side that is far away from the connecting head 210 by the extrusion force applied to the peripheral side of the inner adapter 120 when the connecting head 210 is mounted. It may be understood from the above description that, the abutting member 131 is arranged at the opening 133, so that the abutting member 131 abuts in cooperation with the connecting head 210 and the outer adapter 110 during mounting without interfering with the mounting process. In this embodiment, through the arrangement of the abutting member 131 mounted in cooperation with the connecting head 210, the connecting head 210 can be fixedly connected to the inner adapter 120, so that the  fiber optic assembly 200 is more stably connected to the fiber optic adapter 100.

[0053] In an embodiment, referring to FIGs. 4 and 9, a ceramic ferrule 230 is arranged inside the connecting head 210, the inner adapter 120 is provided with a mounting position 122, and after the connecting head 210 extends into the inner adapter 120, the ceramic ferrule 230 is mounted in cooperation with the mounting position 122 to guide the ceramic ferrule 230 to be coupled with the fiber optic connector 300 in the mounting position 122.

[0054] Specifically, the fiber optic adapter 100 is a main component for connecting the fiber optic assembly 200 to an external fiber optic device. To enable the fiber optic assembly 200 to be coupled with the external fiber optic device, the mounting position 122 is arranged inside the inner adapter 120, and the ceramic ferrule 230 of the fiber optic assembly 200 is coupled with other fiber optic connection devices in the mounting position 122, so that accurate coupling between the fiber optic assembly 200 and other fiber optic device is ensured after the fiber optic adapter 100 is provided with the inner adapter 120. The mounting position 122 is formed by a sleeve, the mounting position 122 is formed inside the sleeve, the ceramic ferrule 230 can be inserted into the sleeve, and a shape of the sleeve cooperates with that of the ceramic ferrule 230, so that the sleeve can also play a role in limiting and fixing the ceramic ferrule 230.

[0055] In an embodiment, referring to FIG. 6, the fiber optic adapter 100 further comprises a first connecting structure 140 when the fiber optic adapter 100 is connected to the fiber optic connector 300 through a fiber optic box 400, the outer adapter 110 is provided with a second connecting structure 112, and when the outer adapter 110 is mounted in cooperation with the fiber optic box 400, the first connecting structure 140 cooperates with the second connecting structure 112 to tightly connect the fiber optic adapter 100 to the fiber optic box 400.

[0056] Specifically, the fiber optic adapter 100 needs to be connected to the fiber optic box 400, which is mainly achieved through the first connecting structure 140 and the second connecting structure 112. The first connecting structure 140 is an annular member provided with an internal thread, the second connecting structure 112 is provided with an external thread, and the first connecting structure 140 is sleeved on the outer periphery side of the outer adapter 110 and is threadedly connected in cooperation with the outer adapter 110 through the thread.

[0057] When the outer adapter 110 is coupled in cooperation with the fiber optic box 400, the outer adapter 110 is inserted into the interface 410 of the fiber optic box 400. When the first connecting structure 140 is rotated, the first connecting structure 140 is rotated toward the fiber optic box 400 and abuts against the fiber optic box 400 after being rotated toward the fiber optic box 400, so that the fiber optic adapter 100 can be tightly screwed in cooperation with the fiber optic box 400.

[0058] Further, referring to FIG. 6, a sealing ring 115 and an anti-slip gasket 116 are further arranged on the outer circumferential side of the outer adapter 110. When the first connecting structure 140 is tightly screwed in cooperation with the fiber optic box 400, the sealing ring 115 can seal the connection, so that a waterproof sealing effect is provided. The anti-slip gasket 116 increases friction to prevent the first connecting structure 140 from being tightly screwed in cooperation with the fiber optic box 400.

[0059] In this embodiment, the first connecting structure 140 is rotated on the outer peripheral side of the outer adapter 110 and is tightly screwed in cooperation with the fiber optic box 400, so that the fiber optic adapter 100 and the fiber optic box 400 can be detachably connected, and the tightness of cooperation between the fiber optic adapter 100 and the fiber optic box 400 can be adjusted.

[0060] In an embodiment, referring to FIG. 5, an outer peripheral side of the outer adapter 110 is provided with a first limiting structure 113, and the first limiting structure 113 cooperates with a second limiting structure of an interface 410 of the fiber optic box 400 to limit a relative rotation between the fiber optic adapter 100 and the fiber optic box 400.

[0061] Specifically, the fiber optic adapter 100 is cylindrical. Referring to FIG. 7, the interface 410 of the fiber optic box 400 is also cylindrical and has an arc-shaped side surface. When the fiber optic adapter 100 is mounted in cooperation with the interface 410 of the fiber optic box 400, it is likely to cause the fiber optic adapter 100 to rotate circumferentially within the interface 410 of the fiber optic box 400. Therefore, the first limiting structure 113 is arranged on the outer peripheral side of the outer adapter 110, and the first limiting structure 113 is specifically configured as a plane with a protrusion. Correspondingly, a second limiting structure is also arranged on the inner side wall of the interface 410 of the fiber optic box 400, and the second limiting structure is also configured as a plane. During mounting, the plane structure of the fiber optic box 400 is attached to the plane structure of the fiber optic adapter 100, so that the arc-shaped side surface of the fiber optic adapter 100 is discontinuous, and the plane is arranged in the middle to limit the rotation of the fiber optic adapter 100. A plurality of first limiting structures 113 may be provided on the surface of the outer adapter 110, and in this embodiment, two opposite first limiting structures 113 are preferably provided. It may be understood that the first limiting structure 113 and the second limiting structure may also be configured as a clamping member, a protruding member and a groove to cooperate for limiting, and the fiber optic adapter 100 can also be prevented from rotating in the interface 410 of the fiber optic box 400. In this embodiment, in addition to providing the outer peripheral side of the outer adapter 110 and the inner side of the fiber optic box 400 with the planes that cooperate with each other, the outer peripheral side of the outer adapter 110 and the inner side of the fiber optic box 400 are provided with the grooves and the protruding members that cooperate with each other, so that the fiber optic box 400 and the fiber optic adapter 100 are further connected.

[0062] In this embodiment, the first limiting structure 113 and the second limiting structure are respectively arranged on the outer adapter 110 and the fiber optic box 400, so that the connection stability of the fiber optic adapter 100 can be improved, the connection of the components can be firmer, and the communication of the fiber optic path can be achieved. The first limiting structure 113 is configured as a plane, which is convenient for the first connecting structure 140 to rotate on the outer adapter 110. Meanwhile, the processing difficulty is also reduced because the plane is more convenient to be configured compared with a groove or a protruding member.

[0063] In an embodiment, referring to FIG. 8, the fiber optic adapter 100 can also be directly connected to a fiber optic connector 300, and the fiber optic connector 300 is sleeved with the outer adapter 110, typically using a threaded connection. The pre-embedded optical fiber inside the fiber optic connector 300 extends into the mounting position 122 of the inner adapter 120 and is coupled with the ceramic ferrule 230 of the fiber optic assembly in the mounting position 122.

[0064] In an embodiment, the fiber optic adapter 100 further comprises a housing 150, the outer adapter 110 is provided with a second connecting structure 112, the housing 150 is connected to the fiber optic adapter 100 through the second connecting structure 112, and the housing 150 is provided with a first receiving cavity for receiving the fiber optic assembly 200.

[0065] Specifically, after the fiber optic adapter 100 is provided with the inner adapter 120, the fiber optic assembly 200 is directly connected to the inner adapter 120, wherein the connection is exposed to the outside, which is likely to cause damage to the fiber optic assembly 200 or damage to the connection. Therefore, the housing 150 is sleeved outside the outer adapter 110, and the housing 150 is a threaded connection with the outer adapter 110. Specifically, the inner side of the housing 150 is provided with an internal thread, and the outer adapter 110 is provided with the second connecting structure 112, i.e., an external thread, as known from the previous embodiment, so that the housing 150 is connected in cooperation with the outer adapter 110 through the thread. To facilitate the mounting of the fiber optic inner adapter 120 inside the housing 150 with the fiber optic assembly 200, the housing 150 is provided with a first receiving cavity that facilitates the fiber optic assembly 200 to pass through and interface with the inner adapter 120.
