[0002] Conventionally, tobacco products have been packaged in hard packages, soft packages, etc. To prevent deterioration of quality, these packages have been wrapped in biaxially oriented polypropylene (OP) film.

[0011] <Embodiment> Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing an example of a tobacco product 1 in which a tobacco article is packaged. Fig. 2 is an exploded perspective view showing an example of the tobacco product 1. The tobacco product 1 includes a contained item 2, for example a tobacco article, an inner wrapper 3 that packages the contained item 2, a wrapper (wrapper paper) 4 that wraps the outside of the inner wrapper 3, a seal paper 5, and a barrier paper 6. The inner wrapper 3, the wrapper 4, and the seal paper 5 form a contained item 11 that packages the contained item 2. The structure and material of the contained item 11 can be similar to those of existing soft packages. The barrier paper 6 is an outer wrapper material that packages the contained item 11. The barrier paper 6 is a paper material in which a barrier coating layer with barrier properties is formed on at least one surface of a base material that mainly contains cellulose. The barrier properties include at least one of water vapor barrier properties. The tobacco product 1 according to this embodiment has a rectangular parallelepiped shape. The barrier paper 6 is folded into a rectangular parallelepiped shape to package the contents 11, forming a front surface 61, a back surface 62, a left side surface 63, a right side surface 64, a top surface 65, and a bottom surface 66. The barrier paper 6 may also have a tear tape 67 to guide the direction in which the barrier paper 6 is to be torn when opening the tobacco product 1. The tear tape 67 may be made of film or paper. That is, the adhesive portion of the barrier paper 6 is the same as that of conventional outer film, and the tobacco product 1 can be manufactured without significant modifications to conventional cigarette manufacturing machines. Heat sealing may be performed using a coating material for forming the barrier coat layer described above, or by providing an additional heat-sealing layer. The heat-sealing layer can improve the adhesiveness of the barrier paper 6. The thinner the substrate of the barrier paper 6, the better its thermal conductivity, shortening the time required for heat sealing by the manufacturing machine. However, if the substrate is too thin, it may be difficult to handle with existing packaging machines. The basis weight of the substrate is preferably 25 gsm or more and 60 gsm or less.
[0026] (Printing Base) If the base material has the above-mentioned basis weight, the design applied to the contained item 11 can also be seen through the barrier paper 6. For example, management information such as the manufacturing date may be written on the contained item 11 so that it can be seen through the barrier paper 6. However, even if the barrier paper 6 is translucent, the visibility and readability of the design applied to the contained item 11 will be reduced because it is covered by the barrier paper 6. Therefore, as described above, a predetermined design may be applied to the surface of the barrier paper 6. The front side of the barrier paper 6 is located outside the tobacco product 1, and the back side is in contact with the contents 11. The barrier paper 6 is partially folded over at the right side 64, top surface 65, and bottom surface 66 shown in Figures 1 and 2. The barrier paper 6 includes a substrate 600, a barrier coat layer 601, heat-seal layers 602 and 603, a printing layer 681, a base layer 682, and a protective layer 683. [0029] (Heat Sealing) As shown in FIG. 5 , a heat seal layer 602 may be formed at a predetermined position on the outside of the protective layer 683. Alternatively, the design 68 may not be formed in the area where the heat seal layer 602 is to be formed, and the heat seal layer 602 may be formed on the substrate 600. As described above, the heat seal layer 602 has heat sealing properties that allow it to be welded by heating. Providing the heat seal layer 602 improves the adhesiveness of the folded portion of the barrier paper 6. However, if the heat seal layer is not provided in at least the area of the outer surface after caramel packaging that faces the heater of the packaging machine (i.e., the area that will be bonded by heat sealing), accumulation of heat sealing agent on the heater of the packaging machine can be prevented. If the barrier coat layer 601 has heat sealing properties, the barrier coat layer 601 can be bonded to the design 68 or the substrate 600 by heat sealing without providing the heat seal layer 602.
[0030] A heat seal layer 603 may be formed at a predetermined position inside the barrier coat layer 601. The heat seal layer 603 is provided on at least a portion of the bottom side of the tear tape 67 (i.e., the side opposite the area of the barrier paper 6 that is removed upon opening) in FIGS. 1 and 2 . [0031] Alternatively, the heat seal layer 603 may be provided along the tear tape 67, near the bottom side of the tear tape 67. Figure 6 is a diagram illustrating an adhesive region 69 where the heat seal layer 603 is provided along the tear tape 67. The adhesive region 69, for example, includes at least the hatched area between the dashed lines in Figure 6. In the example of Figure 6, the adhesive region 69 is provided under the tear tape 67 along the side periphery of the barrier paper 6 (i.e., the right side 64, front 61, left side 63, and back 62). By bonding the barrier paper 6 and the contents 11 together along the tear tape 67 near the bottom side of the tear tape 67 using the heat seal layer 603, the tear direction of the barrier paper 6 can be guided when the tobacco product 1 is opened. In other words, tearing away from the adhesive portion of the tear tape 67 and toward the bottom side of the barrier paper 6 can be prevented. By providing an adhesive region 69 around the entire side periphery, the tearing direction can be reliably guided, and the barrier paper 6 and the contents 11 can be reliably adhered together even after opening, preventing the barrier paper 6 from falling off.
[0032] The adhesive region 69 does not have to be bonded along the entire periphery of the barrier paper 6. For example, the adhesive region 69 may be provided at least on the surface (right side surface 64) where the tear tab 671 is located. Specifically, an area 691 near the tear tab 671 may be bonded. Claims
1. A package comprising a barrier paper for packaging a container containing a tobacco article, the barrier paper being a heat-sealable paper material having barrier properties, and the barrier paper having an opening means for guiding a user in a direction to tear the barrier paper when opening the package.
2. The package according to claim 1, wherein the barrier paper has a barrier coating layer formed on at least one of the front and back sides of the paper base material, which has barrier properties and is heat-sealable.
3. The package according to claim 2, wherein the barrier coat layer adheres the overlapping portions of the barrier paper by heat sealing when the barrier paper is wrapping the contents, and the barrier paper seals the contents.
4. The barrier coat layer has a water vapor permeability of 7 g / m 2 The package according to claim 2 or 3, wherein the thickness is less than or equal to h.

8. The package according to any one of claims 1 to 7, further comprising a base layer on at least a portion of the front side of the barrier paper to improve the opacity of the barrier paper, and a print layer on the base layer to form a predetermined design.
9. A tobacco product comprising: a package according to any one of claims 1 to 8; and a container for containing the tobacco article.
