[0003] Recreational water facilities, such as swimming pools, hot tubs, and water parks, require regular maintenance to ensure the safety and quality of the water. Traditional methods of water treatment often involve the use of liquid or powder chemicals, which can be cumbersome to handle and measure accurately as well as be messy if spilled and difficult to clean up. Consumers would prefer water treatment products that are simpler and less messy than the current conventional products.

[0022] The polyvinyl alcohol may be present in an amount of 5% to 95% based on the mass of the water-soluble sheet and all values in between, including, for example, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, 40%, 45%, 50%, 55%, 60%, 65%, 70%, 75%, 80%, 85%, and 90%. For instance, the polyvinyl alcohol may be present an amount of from: (i) 5% to 75%, (ii) 5% to 30%, or (iii) 50% to 75% based on the mass of the water-soluble sheet.

Claims

Claims 1. A water-soluble sheet for use in a recreational water system comprises a sheet comprising a polyvinyl alcohol, optionally one or more of a functional ingredient, and one or more of a recreational water system agent.

2. The water-soluble sheet of claim 1, wherein the polyvinyl alcohol is present in an amount of from 5% to 95% based on the mass of the water-soluble sheet.

3. The water-soluble sheet of claim 1, wherein the polyvinyl alcohol is present in an amount of from 5% to 75% based on the mass of the water-soluble sheet.

4. The water-soluble sheet of claim 1, wherein the polyvinyl alcohol is present in an amount of from 5% to 30% based on the mass of the water-soluble sheet.

5. The water-soluble sheet of claim 1, wherein the polyvinyl alcohol is present in an amount of from 50% to 75% based on the mass of the water-soluble sheet.

6. The water-soluble sheet of claim 1, wherein the one or more of a recreational water system chemical agents comprise one or more of an alkaline agent, antifoaming agent, clarifier agent / flocculant, colorant, corrosion inhibitor, fragrant, halogen source, pH adjuster, a sanitizer, a water hardness agent, a water softness agent, an evaporative loss agent, a waterline cleaning agent, or a combination thereof.

7. The water-soluble sheet of claim 1, wherein the one or more of a recreational water system agent comprises an alkaline agent in an amount of from 5% to 80% based on the mass of the water-soluble sheet.

8. The water-soluble sheet of claim 1, wherein the one or more of a recreational water system agent comprises an antifoaming agent in an amount of from 0% to 10% by mass of the water-soluble sheet.

9. The water-soluble sheet of claim 1, wherein the one or more of a recreational water system agent comprises a clarifier agent, a flocculant, or a combination thereof in an amount of from 5% to 80% by mass of the water-soluble sheet.

10. The water-soluble sheet of claim 1, wherein the one or more of a recreational water system agent comprises a colorant in an amount of from 0% to 40% by mass of the water- soluble sheet.

11. The water-soluble sheet of claim 1, wherein the one or more of a recreational water system agent comprises a corrosion inhibitor in an amount of from 5% to 50% by mass of the water-soluble sheet.

12. The water-soluble sheet of claim 1, wherein the one or more of a recreational water system agent comprises a fragrant in an amount of from 0% to 40% by mass of the water- soluble sheet.

13. The water-soluble sheet of claim 1, wherein the one or more of a recreational water system agent comprises a halogen source, a coated halogen source, or a combination thereof in an amount of from 5% to 80% based on the mass of the water-soluble sheet.

14. The water-soluble sheet of claim 1, wherein the one or more of a recreational water system agent comprises a pH adjuster in an amount of from 5% to 80% based on the mass of the water-soluble sheet.

15. The water-soluble sheet of claim 1, wherein the one or more of a recreational water system agent comprises a sanitizer in an amount of from 2% to 80% based on the mass of the water-soluble sheet.

16. The water-soluble sheet of claim 1, wherein the one or more of a recreational water system agent comprises a water hardness agent in an amount of from 5% to 80% based on the mass of the water-soluble sheet.

17. The water-soluble sheet of claim 1, wherein the one or more of a recreational water system agent comprises a water softness agent in an amount of from 5% to 80% based on the mass of the water-soluble sheet.

18. The water-soluble sheet of claim 1, wherein the one or more of a recreational water system agent comprises an evaporative loss agent in an amount of from 5% to 80% based on the mass of the water-soluble sheet.

19. The water-soluble sheet of claim 1, wherein the one or more of a recreational water system agent comprises a waterline cleaning agent in an amount of from 0% to 40% by mass of the water-soluble sheet.

20. A method for treating a recreational water system, which comprises adding the water-soluble sheet of claim 1 to the recreational water system.
