Description

DEVICE, METHOD AND COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM FOR COMMUNICATIONFIELD

[0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to the field of communication, and in particular, to devices, methods and computer readable medium for a reference signal transmission related to full duplex operation.BACKGROUND

[0002] With the development of communication technology, to enhance the performance of the communication system, several refined resource configuration manners had been introduced. For example, to easily utilize the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology, the Time Division Duplex (TDD) pattern has been studied and adopted, in which a time symbol may be configured as an uplink (UL) symbol, a downlink (DL) symbol or a flexible symbol. In this case, during a symbol, the configured whole bandwidth part (BWP) or carrier is used for communication of the corresponding link direction (for example, UL or DL) .

[0003] To further enhance the frequency spectrum efficiency, a subband non-overlapping full duplex (SBFD) operation was proposed on the basis of the TDD pattern. In the SBFD operation, a time unit (for example, a symbol, slot, sub-frame, frame, and so on) which may be also referred to as an SBFD time unit can be divided into a plurality of frequency subbands in the frequency domain. The plurality of frequency subbands may be respectively used for different link directions, for example, uplink (UL) frequency subband or downlink (DL) frequency subband. That is, for example, on a DL symbol configured with a UL subband, the network device may perform the DL transmission on the DL subband and perform the UL reception on the configured UL subband during this DL symbol. Moreover, in some cases, the same frequency resources (for example, the BWP and carrier) can be simultaneously used for different link direction transmissions (which may be also referred to as overlapped subband full duplex, OSFD) . In the above cases, the reference signal transmission under the full duplex (SBFD and / or OSFD) operation is a key aspect.SUMMARY

[0044] In some example embodiments of the disclosure, the slot / symbol configured for the SBFD operation may be also referred to as SBFD slot / symbol, and the slot / symbol not configured for the SBFD operation may be also referred to as non-SBFD slot / symbol. The non-SBFD time unit may include UL slot / symbol and / or DL slot / symbol. In some example embodiments of the disclosure, the time unit may be any metric of the time domain. For example, the time unit may be a frame, a subframe, a slot, or a symbol. Without any limitation, the time unit may be any other time duration.

[0045] In some example embodiments of the disclosure, the expression “frequency resources within a subband of the SBFD time unit” only refers to the resources located within the subband with respect to the frequency domain; however, the time duration of these resources is unnecessary to be limited in the SBFD time unit if the time duration is not indicated. In some example embodiments of the disclosure, the term “Physical Resource Block (PRB) or resource block” used herein may refer to a resource base unit in the frequency domain.

[0046] In some example embodiments of the disclosure, the term “SBFD aware UE” used herein may refer to the terminal device which obtains the SBFD configuration for time units, for example, the subband division or location of the time units, and supports the SBFD operations with the network device.

[0047] In some example embodiments of the disclosure, the term “SBFD slot” refers to a slot including at least one SBFD symbol which is configured with frequency subbands for different link directions. In addition to the at least one SBFD symbol, the SBFD slot may further include one or more non-SBFD symbols.

[0048] In some embodiments of the disclosure, the terms “resources for the CSI-RS / TRS transmission” , “CSI-RS / TRS resources” and “CSI-RS / TRS transmission resources” may be used interchangeably.

[0049] In some example embodiments of the disclosure, the term “reference signal” refers to a predefined signal known to both the transmitter and receiver, used primarily for synchronization, channel estimation, and other purposes to ensure accurate and efficient communication. It serves as a benchmark for the receiver to detect, synchronize with, and decode the transmitted data correctly, compensating for any distortions or shifts that occur during transmission. This reference signal is essential in maintaining the integrity and reliability of the communication system.

[0050] The reference signal includes, but not limited to, demodulation reference signal (DMRS) , channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS) , tracking reference signal (TRS) , sounding reference signal (SRS) , positioning reference signal (PRS) , synchronization signal block (SSB) and so on.

[0051] Among reference signals, the CSI-RS is a type of reference signal which is used in wireless communication systems to provide information about the state of the communication channel. CSI-RS helps the receiver (usually a terminal device) assess the quality and characteristics of the channel, such as path loss, fading, and interference. Generally, a network device configures the resources for the CSI-RS to one or more terminal devices, and the network device transmit the CSI-RS on the configured resources. In this way, the terminal device may assess the quality of the channel between the network device and the terminal device, based on receiving the CSI-RS on the configured resources.

[0052] Furthermore, the TRS is used to support accurate tracking of the channel’s variations over time. TRS helps the receiver maintain synchronization with the transmitter, particularly in scenarios where the channel conditions are rapidly changing due to mobility or other factors. In practice, by means of a TRS-related parameter in CSI-RS resource configuration, the resources configured for the CSI-RS may be enabled to transmit the TRS, or the CSI-RS may be used as the TRS. To discuss clarity, the resource configuration of the CSI-RS / TRS is further discussed with reference to FIG. 1B.

[0053] As mentioned above, a time unit (for example, a DL slot) may be configured as a subband non-overlapping full duplex (SBFD) time unit or overlapping full duplex (OSFD) time unit. In this case, there may be at least an overlapped UL subband in this DL slot. As such, if the DL slot is configured with CSI-RS / TRS transmission, the CSI-RS / TRS in the DL direction may collide with the UL subband configured on the DL time unit. Moreover, for a certain frequency range (for example, FR1, 450MHz -6000MHz and 4.5GHz -6GHz) , the TRS resources should be configured on several fixed candidate symbols in a slot. In this case, the probability of the collision between the resources for the TRS and the SBFD / OSFD symbols may be high.

[0054] In view of the above, the example embodiments of the disclosure propose aspects for the reference signal transmission related to full duplex operation.

[0055] In an aspect, the terminal device receives, from a network device, a first configuration indicating one or more SBFD slots and a second configuration indicating one  or more slots for a CSI-RS transmission. The terminal device further determines, based on at least one of the first configuration and the second configuration, a set of resources associated with the one or more SBFD slots. For example, the terminal device may determine the CSI-RS resources which will not affect the SBFD operation, or directly determine the CSI-RS resources regardless of the SBFD operation. The terminal device further receives, from the network device, one or more CSI-RSs on the set of resources. In this way, the reference signal transmission can be adapted to the full duplex operation.

[0056] For illustrative purposes, principle and example embodiments of the present disclosure will be described below with reference to FIGS. 1-14. However, it is to be noted that these embodiments are given to enable the skilled in the art to understand inventive concepts of the present disclosure and implement the solution as proposed herein, and not intended to limit scope of the present application in any way.

[0057] FIG. 1A illustrates an example environment 100 in which some embodiments of the present disclosure can be implemented.

[0058] The environment 100, which may be a part of a communication network, comprises a terminal device 110 and a network device 120. In some embodiments, the communication network may include NTN, NB-IoT and / or eMTC. In some other embodiments, the communication network may include any other possible communication network. Although not shown, it would be appreciated that one or more terminal devices, TRPs and network devices may be located in the environment 100. In some embodiments, the network device 120 supports the SBFD / OSFD operation. For example, during the same SBFD / OSFD time units, the network device 120 may transmit a downlink (DL) channel to the terminal device 110 and receive an UL channel from another terminal device (which is not shown in FIG. 1A) , simultaneously. In other words, the network device 120 may transmit signal (s) in a downlink (DL) channel to the terminal device 110 and receive signal (s) in an UL channel from another terminal device, simultaneously.

[0059] It is to be understood that the number of units and other objects in FIG. 1 is provided merely for the purpose of illustration without implying any limitations to the device environment 100. The environment 100 may include any suitable number of functionality units configured to implement example embodiments of the subject disclosure. Although not shown, it would be appreciated that one or more terminal devices may be located in the environment 100.

[0060] FIG. 1B illustrates an example of CSI-RS / TRS resources configured on two consecutive slots. In FIG. 1B, resources in two consecutive slots and one physical resource block (PRB) are shown. Specifically, a single block in FIG. 1B represents one resource element (RE) which occupies one symbol in the time domain and one subcarrier spacing in the frequency domain.

[0061] The resources for the CSI-RS (which may be also referred to as CSI-RS resources) may be configured by a configuration of “non-zero-power (NZP) CSI-RS resource set” . Specifically, the CSI-RS resource may be configured by the following. The time-domain locations of the two CSI-RS resources in a slot, or of the four CSI-RS resources in two consecutive slots (which are the same across two consecutive slots) , as defined by higher layer parameter is given by: {4, 8} , {5, 9} or {6, 10} for frequency range 1 and frequency range 2. That is, the candidate CSI-RS resources are fixed in a slot, i.e., symbols {4, 8} , {5, 9}or {6, 10} . In this case, the longest symbols duration for UL subband is five symbols, however this duration may be not enough for UL channel transmission.

[0062] In addition, the above CSI-RS resources may be enabled for the TRS transmission or the CSI-RS may be used as the TRS, if the TRS-related parameter (for example, “trs-Info” ) in the NZP-CSI-RS_resourceset is “true” . As shown in FIG. 1B, a plurality of REs (i.e., blocks with shadows) including the RE 130 may be used for the TRS transmission.

[0063] At least to solve the related issues mentioned above, some embodiments of the disclosure are discussed with reference to FIGS. 2 to 14.

[0064] FIG. 2 illustrates a signaling process 200 for the reference signal transmission related to full duplex operation according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussions, the process 200 will be described with reference to FIG. 1A. It would be appreciated that although the process 200 has been described with respect to communication environment of FIG. 1A, this process 200 may be likewise applied to other communication environments.

[0065] In the signaling process 200, the network device 120 transmits (210) a first configuration 215 that indicates one or more subband full-duplex (SBFD) slots and a second configuration 215 that indicates one or more slots for CSI-RS transmission. In some embodiments, the network device 120 may transmit the first configuration and the second configuration separately. For example, the network device 120 may transmit the first configuration by transmitting an SBFD configuration information. In addition, the network  device 120 may transmit the second configuration by configuring the “NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet” to the terminal device 110. Alternatively, if the terminal device 110 is in idle state or inactive state, the network device 120 may transmit the second configuration in system information broadcast signaling (for example, SIB 19) . Without any limitation, in some embodiments, the network device 120 may also transmit the first configuration and the second configuration together. In some other embodiments, the network device 120 may inform the first configuration and the second configuration to the terminal device in any other manners. Accordingly, the terminal device 110 receives (220) the first configuration and the second configuration 215 from the network device 120.

[0066] Then, the terminal device 110 determines (230) a set of resources for the CSI-RS transmission associated with the one or more SBFD slots, based on at least one of the first configuration and the second configuration. In some embodiments, as mentioned above, the configured CSI-RS resources may be enabled for the TRS transmission, or the transmitted CSI-RS may be used as TRS. In this case, the terminal device may determine the set of resources for the TRS transmission based on at least one of the first configuration and the second configuration.

[0067] In some cases, a slot may be configured as an SBFD slot and this same slot may be also configured with resources for the CSI-RS / TRS transmission. In some embodiments of the disclosure, this same slot may be also referred to as “first slot” . Further, in some embodiments, the SBFD symbols in this SBFD slot (i.e., the first slot) may be different from the symbols containing CSI-RS / TRS resources. In other words, the SBFD symbols and the symbols including the CSI-RS / TRS resources are time division multiplexed in this SBFD slot.

[0068] In some embodiments, the number of symbols for the CSI-RS / TRS transmission in the SBFD slot may be different from another number of symbols for the CSI-RS / TRS transmission in the non-SBFD slot. In some embodiments, there is only one symbol that can be configured for the CSI-RS / TRS transmission in this SBFD slot. For example, in the SBFD slot, the number of symbols including the resource (s) for the CSI-RS / TRS transmission is the first number, and symbol of the first number of symbols is a non-SBFD symbol. Moreover, in another non-SBFD slot, another number of symbols including the resource (s) for the CSI-RS / TRS transmission is the second number. In some embodiments, for the FR1 and FR2, the first number may be different from the second number. As an example, the first number is “1” and the second number is “2” . In the non-SBFD slot, the  two symbols for the CSI-RS / TRS transmission may be symbols: {4, 8} , {5, 9} , or {6, 10} . In the SBFD slot, the one symbol for the CSI-RS / TRS transmission may be any one of symbols 0 to 13. Without any limitation, the first number and the second number may be any other different values. The above embodiment may be also expressed as below.

[0069] Alternatively, in some embodiments, the first number may be equal to the second number. For example, the second number may be equal to “2” and the first number may be also equal to “2” . Furthermore, similarly, in the SBFD slot, the symbols of the first number of symbols are non-SBFD symbols. In addition, for FR1, the locations of the first number of symbols including CSI-RS / TRS resources are not limited. That is, the range of a starting symbol of the first number of symbols may be from symbol 0 to symbol 9 in the SBFD slot. As an example, for FR1, the first symbols for the CSI-RS / RS transmission in the SBFD slot may be any symbol. That is, for SBFD-aware UE (for example, the terminal device 110) , in addition to the symbol pairs at the locations {4, 8} , {5, 9} and {6, 10} , one of the symbol pairs at the locations: {0, 4} , {1, 5} , {2, 6} , {3, 7} , {8, 12} and {9, 13} in the SBFD slot may be configured for the CSI-RS / TRS transmission. In this way, the longest duration for the uplink channel in the SBFD slot may be nine symbols which is larger than five symbols. To discuss clarity, this embodiment is further discussed with reference to FIG. 3.

[0070] FIG. 3 illustrates an example of a set of resources for the CSI-RS transmission and SBFD symbols on one slot according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0071] As mentioned above, the symbols including resources for the CSI-RS / TRS transmission and the non-SBFD symbols are time division multiplexed (TDM) in the SBFD slot. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 (for example, UE) is not expect that the configured TRS symbols overlap with SBFD symbols.

[0072] As an example, if the SBFD symbols configured in “TDD-UL-DL-ConfigCommon” starts from symbol 5 to symbols 13, then the configured UE-specific TRS resources may be located in symbols {0, 4} . That is, the symbols including TRS resources (for example, the TRS resource 330) are TDMed with the SBFD symbols in the symbol level in a slot. In another example, as shown in FIG. 3, a slot is indicated as an SBFD slot. If the SBFD symbols configured in “TDD-UL-DL-ConfigCommon” starts from symbol 0 to symbols 8, then the configured UE-specific TRS resources may be located in symbols {9, 13} . In this way, the configuration flexibility can be arrived. In addition or alternatively, the above embodiment may be also expressed as below.

[0073] In some embodiments, the above CSI-RS / TRS resources may be directly indicated by the second configuration 215. In this case, for the SBFD slots, the terminal device 110 may determine the set of resources for the CSI-RS / TRS transmission by determining the corresponding resources in non-SBFD symbols of the SBFD slots based on the second configuration. That is, in the above embodiments, the set of resources for the CSI-RS / TRS  transmission may include one or more resources within a first number of symbols in the SBFD slot and further one or more resources within a second number of symbols in the non-SBFD slot.

[0074] Referring back to FIG. 2, alternatively, in some embodiments, not only the SBFD slot is indicated as the slot for the CSI-RS / TRS transmission, the CSI-RS / TRS resources may further “collide” with SBFD slot. For example, the CSI-RS / TRS resources indicated by the second configuration may be within a UL subband of the SBFD symbol in the SBFD slot. In this case, the terminal device may select valid CSI-RS / TRS resources from the resources indicated by the second configuration.

[0075] In some embodiments, the second configuration may indicate a plurality of resources for the CSI-RS transmission in an SBFD symbol of the SBFD slot. In this case, the terminal device 110 may determine the set of resources for the CSI-RS / TRS transmission by determining a portion of the plurality of resources which is located within one or more DL subbands of the SBFD symbols. That is, only the portion located within the DL subbands may be determined as valid CSI-RS / TRS resources.

[0076] As an example, the frequency domain resource allocation (FDRA) related to CSI-RS / TRS resources may be the same between the SBFD slot and non-SBFD slot. If the allocated TRS BW cross two DL subbands of an SBFD slot, the terminal device 110 may determine non-contiguous TRS resource derived by excluding frequency resources outside DL subband (s) . In this way, only CSI-RS / TRS resources within DL subband (s) are valid for SBFD-aware UE on SBFD symbols, and the UE does not receive TRS on UL subband of SBFD symbols. To discuss clarity, the above embodiments are further discussed with reference to FIG. 4.

[0077] FIG. 4 illustrates an example of a determination of a valid set of resources for the CSI-RS transmission on an SBFD symbol according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0078] In some embodiments, in the frequency domain, the CSI-RS / TRS resources may be determined in the RE unit by an indicated density parameter “e.g., ρ” . For example, if the density parameter ρ is “3” , then the spacing between adjacent REs allocated to the CSI-RS / TRS in the same symbol may be three REs (as shown in FIG. 1B) . Still referring FIG. 4, if the whole bandwidth of the SBFD symbol (s) is allocated to the CSI-RS / TRS, then the terminal device 110 may consider the DL subband (s) as the valid bandwidth, i.e., valid  bandwidth 1 and valid bandwidth 2 for CSI-RS / TRS. In this case, only TRS resources within DL subband (s) are valid for SBFD-aware UE on SBFD symbols, and UE does not receive TRS on UL subband of SBFD symbols.

[0079] Referring back to FIG. 2, alternatively, the second configuration comprises a default set of parameters for frequency resource allocation, and an additional set of parameters which is used for the frequency resource allocation associated with the SBFD slot. In some embodiments of the disclosure, the default set of parameters may be also referred to as the first set of parameters, and the additional set of parameters may be also referred to as the second set of parameters. Specifically, the first set of parameters may be the default configured parameter set for determining the CSI-RS / TRS resources in the non-SBFD slot (s) and / or non-SBFD symbol (s) . That is, in the non-SBFD slots and / or non-SBFD symbol (s) , the terminal device 110 may determine the set of resources for the CSI-RS / TRS by determining a resource using the first set of parameters. In addition, in the SBFD symbol (s) , the terminal device 110 may use the first set of parameter to determine a resource for the CSI-RS / TRS transmission within a first downlink subband in the SBFD symbol. The terminal device 110 may further use the second set of parameters (i.e., the additional set of parameters) to determine a resource for the CSI-RS transmission within a second downlink subband in the SBFD symbol. To discuss clarity, the above embodiments are further discussed with reference to FIG. 5.

[0080] FIG. 5 illustrates an example of multiple parameter sets for determining the set of resources for the CSI-RS transmission on the SBFD slot according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0081] As shown in FIG. 5, the CSI-RS / TRS resources in the first DL subband are determined based on a first set of parameters, and the CSI-RS / TRS resources in the second DL subband are determined based on a second set of parameters. In this way, one CSI-RS / TRS resources configuration may “cross” downlink subbands in the SBFD slot for SBFD-aware UEs. For example, the frequency resource allocation for the TRS can cross downlink subbands for SBFD-aware UEs. Specifically, for SBFD aware UE, one TRS frequency allocating two contiguous TRS resources that are linked two DL subband in SBFD symbols.

[0082] As such, each of the first and second set of parameters may have respective starting resource block (i.e., parameter startingRB) and number of resource blocks parameter (i.e.,  parameter nrofRBs) separately applied to two DL subband. That is, in addition to the startingRB and nrofRBs parameter in the first set of parameters, the other startingRB and nrofRBs parameter may be included in the second set of parameters. As an example, besides existing startingRB and nrofPRBs, the other startingRB and nrofRBs parameter may be included in TRS-ResourceSet configuration in SIB17 or CSI-RS resource in an NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet configured with higher layer parameter trs-Info.

[0083] As shown in FIG. 5, one startingRB and nrofRBs may indicate the TRS resource in DL subband 1 510, and the other startingRB and nrofRBs may indicate the TRS resource in DL subband 2 520. As an example, the other startingPRB parameter may be: startingRB-r20 INTEGER (0.. maxNrofPhysicalResourceBlocks-1) . The other nrofRBs parameter may be nrofRBs-r20 INTEGER (24.. maxNrofPhysicalResourceBlocksPlus1) . In some embodiments, the first set of parameters may be associated with the higher DL frequency subband 510 and the second set of parameters may be associated with the lower DL frequency subband 520. Alternatively, without any limitation, the first set of parameters may be associated with the lower DL frequency subband 520 and the second set of parameters may be associated with the higher DL frequency subband 510.

[0084] Referring back to FIG. 2, in addition or alternatively, if there is an uplink channel to be transmitted on an SBFD symbol of the SBFD slot, the terminal device may transmit the uplink channel within the UL subband of the SBFD symbol and refrain from receiving CSI-RS / TRS on the corresponding resources within the UL subband. In an example, a restriction may be added for TRS receiving in SBFD slot. In the case that the terminal device 110 is configured to receive TRS on SBFD symbols. The terminal device 110 may be not required to receive TRS if the terminal device 110 is to transmit UL data on UL subband of SBFD symbols.

[0085] Alternatively, based on a predefined priority rule, the terminal device 110 may determine whether to receive the CSI-RS / TRS within UL subband of the SBFD slot or to transmit the UL channel within the UL subband. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine a first priority level of an uplink transmission transmitted on the first slot and a second priority level of CSI-RS / TRS. Then, the terminal device 110 may perform, on the SBFD slot, the uplink transmission or a CSI-RS / TRS reception based on the first priority level of the uplink transmission and the second priority level of CSI-RS / TRS.

[0086] As an example, if the configured CSI-RS / TRS collides with UL transmission on  SBFD symbols, the terminal device 110 may receive TRS and drop UL transmission, or perform UL transmission and drop TRS receiving, based on the predefined priority rule of UL channel / signal and the TRS. Specifically, if the TRS is aperiodic and UL transmission is configured grant (CG)  / dynamic grant (DG) physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) , then the terminal device 110 may receive TRS and not transmit UL PUSCH. If the TRS is periodic and UL transmission is CG / DG PUSCH, PUCCH or PRACH, then the terminal device 110 may transmit the CG / DG PUSCH or PUCCH or PRACH and not receive TRS. If the TRS is aperiodic and UL transmission is PUCCH / PRACH, the terminal device 110 may transmit PUCCH / PRACH and not receive TRS. If the TRS is aperiodic and UL transmission is SRS, then the terminal device 110 may receive aperiodic TRS and not transmit SRS. If the TRS is periodic and UL transmission is aperiodic SRS, then the terminal device 110 may transmit aperiodic SRS and not receive TRS.

[0087] Alternatively, the SBFD slot may be not further considered as the slot for the CSI-RS / TRS transmission. In some embodiments, the one or more SBFD slots indicated in the first configuration do not overlap with the one or more slots for the CSI-RS transmission. For example, after configuring the SBFD slot (s) , the network device 120 may configure (for example, using the second configuration) slots other than the determined SBFD slot (s) for the CSI-RS / TRS transmission. In turn, the terminal device 110 may determine the set of resources associated with the one or more SBFD slots by: determining a resource for the CSI-RS in a slot of the one or more slots which is not configured as the SBFD slot. In this way, the terminal device 110 may only determine the CSI-RS / TRS resources on the slot other than the SBFD slots. For example, the terminal device 110 may determine the set of resources associated with the SBFD slot based on the first configuration.

[0088] As an example, the configured TRS slot is not collide with SBFD slot. For SBFD aware UE, UE is not expect the configured SBFD slot is overlapped with the configured TRS slot. Alternatively, the above embodiment may be also expressed as below.

[0089] Alternatively, in some embodiments, the second configuration may comprise a non-zero-power (NZP) CSI-RS resource set dedicated to the SBFD slot. That is, a dedicated NZP CSI-RS resource set (s) may be configured for SBFD aware UE to determine the TRS resources in SBFD slot (s) . For example, a dedicated parameter, such as trs-Info-SBFD may be defined for the terminal device 110 to determine, in the SBFD slots, the configured NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet as TRS resource set.

[0090] In some embodiments, the NZP CSI-RS resource set may be enabled for TRS transmitted in the SBFD slots by a TRS parameter enabled related to the SBFD slot, such as “trs-Info-SBFD” . In addition, the NZP CSI-RS resource set may comprise four periodic TRS resources in two consecutive SBFD slots and each SBFD slot comprises two periodic TRS resource.

[0091] As an example, for a NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet configured with the higher layer parameter trs-Info-SBFD, where a NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet consists of four periodic NZP CSI-RS resources in two consecutive SBFD slots with two periodic NZP CSI-RS resources in each slot. If there is no two consecutive SBFD slots are indicated as SBFD slots by tdd-UL-DL-ConfigurationCommon or tdd-UL-DL-ConfigDedicated, then the UE may be configured with one or more NZP CSI-RS set (s) configured with trs-Info-SBFD, where a NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet consists of two periodic NZP CSI-RS resources in one SBFD slot.

[0092] In some embodiments, a first period of the NZP CSI-RS resource set is equal to a second period of the one or more SBFD slots. As an example, the TRS period in NZP CSI-RS set (s) configured with the higher layer parameter trs-Info-SBFD is the same as the period of configuring SBFD slots.

[0093] Still referring to FIG. 2, in view of the above, the terminal device 110 determines (230) the set of resources associated with the SBFD slot. Correspondingly, the network device 120 also determines (240) the set of resources associated with the SBFD slot using the same criterion as the terminal device 110. Then, the network device 120 transmits (250) one or more CSI-RSs / TRSs 255 on the set of resources associated with the SBFD slot. Then, the terminal device 110 receives (260) the one or more CSI-RSs / TRSs 255 on the set of resources accordingly.

[0094] In this way, the CSI-RS / TRS transmission may be coordinated with the SBFD slot configuration.

[0095] In another aspect, the terminal device receives, from a network device, a rate matching indication related to one or more channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS) resources in a full duplex slot. The one or more CSI-RS resources are configured for another terminal device. Then, the terminal device performs, on the full duplex slot, a rate matching to transmit an uplink channel to the network device.

[0096] Specifically, in some cases, the CSI-RS / TRS may be transmitted / received within a UL subband of SBFD symbols or on overlapped subband in full duplex slot. In this case, if the terminal device 110 is to transmit a uplink channel, the terminal device 110 may perform the rate matching for the other terminal device’s TRS resource on the UL subband or overlapped subband for full duplex operation.

[0097] For example, the CSI-RS / TRS resources for other terminal device (s) may be configured as the rate matching or puncturing resource (s) in the PUSCH PRB allocated to the terminal device 110. Furthermore, there may be 2 TRS symbols to be punctured in a slot. Alternatively, in some embodiments, the spatial relationship of the uplink channel transmitted from the terminal device 110 is not the same as the QCL assumption of the TRS on this overlapped subband. That is, the uplink channel and the TRS may be spatial division multiplexed on the full duplex slot.

[0098] In this way, if the CSI-RS / TRS is transmitted on the OSFD slot, the PUSCH transmitted during the same OSFD slot will not interfere the CSI-RS / TRS.

[0099] FIG. 6 illustrates another signaling process 600 for the reference signal transmission related to full duplex operation according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussions, the process 600 will be described with reference to FIG. 1A. It would be appreciated that although the process 600 has been described with respect to communication environment of FIG. 1A, this process 600 may be likewise applied to other communication environments.

[0100] In the signaling process 600, the network device 120 transmits (610) a rate matching indication (615) related to one or more CSI RS resources in a full duplex slot to the terminal device 110. In some embodiments, similarly, the one or more CSI-RS resources may be enabled for the TRS transmission, or the transmitted CSI-RS on the one or more CSI-RS resources may be used as TRS.

[0101] In some embodiments, the rate matching indication may be transmitted in downlink control information (DCI) from the network device 120. Furthermore, the DCI may further include a rate matching pattern indicating the one or more CSI-RS resources.

[0102] Alternatively, in some embodiments, the rate matching indication may be transmitted by a message separate from the DCI and the rate matching pattern may be included in the DCI. Alternatively, in some embodiments, the rate matching pattern may be included in the rate matching indication of the DCI.

[0103] In some embodiments, in addition to the rate matching pattern or alternatively, the DCI may include one or more identifications (ID) of the one or more CSI-RS resources in a non-zero-power (NZP) CSI-RS resource set for the other terminal device. For example, an NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet configured with higher layer parameter trs-Info may be configured to the terminal device 110 by DCI. This resource set gives one or a list of CSI-RS-Resource IDs / indexes for the terminal device to perform the puncturing or rate matching or resource reserving on at least a portion of corresponding CSI-RS / TRS resources when transmitting UL on these TRS resources. Without any limitation, the NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet may be also configured to the terminal device 110 by a radio resource control (RRC) signaling.

[0104] As an example, the network device 120 may transmit the list of whole CSI-RS-Resource IDs / indexes of another terminal device to the terminal device 110 in the RRC signaling, in advance. Then, once the terminal device 110 is to transmit UL channel overlapping the CSI-RS / TRS resources for the other terminal device, the network device 120 may further transmit, to the terminal device 110, DCI including the CSI-RS-Resource IDs / indexes (for example, another list of CSI-RS-Resource IDs / indexes) to be punctured / rate matching. To discuss clarity, the above puncturing or rate matching is further discussed with reference to FIG. 7.

[0105] FIG. 7 illustrates an example of the rate matching for the uplink channel transmission associated with TRS resources according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0106] As shown in FIG. 7, in some embodiments, RE level resource reserve or UL rate matching pattern may be configured in one slot for CSI-RS / TRS transmission of the other terminal device. That is, on the TRS resource overlapping UL subband or overlapped subband, the terminal device 110 performs the puncturing / rate matching when transmitting the uplink channel. In the example of FIG. 7, a plurality of CSI-RS / TRS resources  including RE 710 (i.e., the blocks with shadow) is punctured in the UL channel transmitted by the terminal device 110. The above embodiments may be also expressed as below.

[0107] Referring back to FIG. 6, the terminal device 110 receives (620) the rate matching indication 615 related to the one or more CSI-RS resources in the full duplex slot. In turn, the terminal device 110 may be aware the resources to be punctured / rate matching, i.e., the resources for the CSI-RS / TRS of other terminal device. As mentioned above, the terminal device 110 may obtain the resources to be punctured based on the rate matching indication itself, DCI including the rate matching indication and / or RRC signaling received in advance.

[0108] In addition, in some embodiments, the DCI may be of at least one of the following format: DCI format 0_1, DCI format 0_2, or UE-group common DCI format 2_x. As an example, the rate matching indication may be designed as: for aperiodic triggered TRS transmission, the network device 120 may trigger aperiodic puncturing or rate matching through DCI.

[0109] In an example, a rate matching indicator bit field may be added in DCI format 0_1 / 0-2 that used to tell UE to perform rate matching or puncturing when transmitting the UL channel that overlaps with the TRS resource. This new bit field for NZP-CSI-RS ResourceSet triggering may be included DCI format 0_1  / 0-2.

[0110] In another example, UE-group common DCI format 2_x may be used to carry the rate matching indication towards one or multiple terminal devices that have DG / CG-PUSCH resource overlapping with the CSI-RS / TRS resources. Alternatively, the network device 120 may trigger the rate matching / puncturing by indicating TRS ResourceSetId in the DCI payload. Specifically, the list {NZP-CSI-RS ResourceSetId1, NZP-CSI-RS ResourceSetId2, …} may be transmitted in DCI format 2_x. In turn, each of the one or multiple terminal devices may perform rate matching for the scheduled / configured PUSCH that overlapped with the NZP-CSI-RS ResourceSet configured as TRS resource.

[0111] In this way, the terminal device 110 performs, on the full duplex slot, a rate matching to transmit (630) an uplink channel 635 to the network device 120. The network device 120 receives (640) the uplink channel 635 accordingly.

[0112] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may perform the rate matching for the one or more CSI-RS resources and further CSI-RS resources neighboring the one or more CSI-RS resources. In this way, the interference between the UL channel and the CSI-RS / TRS may be reduced. To discuss clarity, this embodiment is further discussed with reference to FIG. 8.

[0113] FIG. 8 illustrates another example of the rate matching for the uplink channel transmission associated with TRS resources according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0114] In the example of FIG. 8, considering the inter-terminal devices cross link interference (CLI) , the indicated rate matching pattern and / or list of CSI-RS resource IDs / indexes may include CSI-RS / TRS REs and the REs adjacent the TRS (for example, a plurality of REs including the RE 810) in the full duplex slot for TRS. In some embodiments, the so-called “adjacent REs” may be predefined. As an example, the four REs around the CSI-RS resources may be muted or punctured when the terminal device 110 transmits the uplink channel on the full duplex slot. In some other embodiments, the “adjacent REs” may include more RE.

[0115] Referring back to FIG. 6, alternatively, in some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may perform the rate matching by performing the rate matching for one or more symbols in the full duplex slot, and the one or more symbols comprises the one or more CSI-RS resources indicated to be punctured / rate matching. That is, in the full duplex slot, the whole symbols including the CSI-RS / TRS resources (for example REs) for the other terminal devices may be punctured / rate matching. To discuss clarity, this embodiment is further discussed with reference to FIG. 9.

[0116] FIG. 9 illustrates a further example of the rate matching for the uplink channel transmission associated with TRS resources according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0117] In the example of FIG. 9, a PUSCH symbol level resource reserve or rate match pattern may be preconfigured.

[0118] When the TRS resource of another terminal device overlaps with some of the uplink channel resources for the terminal device 110, the terminal device 110 may be indicated that the CSI-RS / TRS resources are rate matching / puncturing resources. As shown in FIG. 9, all the REs in symbols 0 and 4 are punctured or configured as rate matching resource when the  UL channels are transmitted on the UL subband of the full duplex slot for the CSI-RS / TRS transmission.

[0119] In addition, in some embodiments, regarding the uplink control information (UCI) , the terminal device 110 may perform the rate matching to multiplex uplink control information in an uplink shared channel on the full duplex slot. As an example, the UCI (including, such as, CSI, hybrid automatic repeat request-acknowledge, HARQ-ACK, CG-UCI) transmission that is multiplexed in the physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) may be performed rate matching on the CSI-RS / TRS resources for other terminal device and / or the UL muting resource around the CSI-RS / TRS resources. That is, UCI is not mapped on the TRS resource of other terminal devices. Moreover, the data and control multiplexing procedure may be not changed, but the set of resource elements for UCI may not include the indicated CSI-RS / TRS resources.

[0120] In view of the above, during the full duplex slot, the coordination between uplink transmission of a first terminal device and reference signal transmission for a second terminal device in the downlink direction can be achieved.

[0121] FIG. 10 illustrates a flowchart of a method 1000 of communication implemented at a terminal device in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. The method 1000 can be implemented at the terminal device 110 shown in FIG. 1A. For the purpose of discussion, the method 1000 will be described with reference to FIG. 1A. It is to be understood that the method 1000 may include additional acts not shown and / or may omit some shown acts, and the scope of the present disclosure is not limited in this regard.

[0122] At 1110, the terminal device 110 receives, from a network device, a first configuration indicating one or more subband full-duplex (SBFD) slots and a second configuration indicating one or more slots for channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS) transmission. At 1120, the terminal device 110 determines, based on at least one of the first configuration and the second configuration, a set of resources associated with the one or more SBFD slots. At 1130, the terminal device 110 receives, from the network device, one or more CSI-RSs on the set of resources.

[0123] In some embodiments, the one or more CSI-RSs are configured as one or more tracking reference signals (TRS) . In some embodiments, a first slot is one of the one or more SBFD slots; and the first slot is also indicated by the second configuration for the CSI-RS transmission.

[0124] In some embodiments, at least one of the following: the set of resources comprises one or more resources within a first number of symbols in the first slot; or the set of resources comprises further one or more resources within a second number of symbols in a second slot of the one of more slots for the CSI-RS transmission, and the second slot is a non-SBFD slot.

[0125] In some embodiments, the first number is different from the second number, and a symbol of the first number of symbols is not configured as an SBFD symbol. In some embodiments, the first number is equal to the second number, and the first number of symbols in the first slot are not configured as the SBFD symbols.

[0126] In some embodiments, for a frequency range (FR) 1, a range of a starting symbol of the first number of symbols is from symbol 0 to symbol 9 in the first slot.

[0127] In some embodiments, the terminal device may further transmit uplink data on the first slot; and refrain from receiving a CSI-RSs on the first slot.

[0128] In some embodiments, the terminal device may further determine a first priority level of an uplink transmission transmitted on the first slot and a second priority level of CSI-RS; and perform, on the first slot, the uplink transmission or a CSI-RS reception based on the first priority level of the uplink transmission and the second priority level of CSI-RS.

[0129] In some embodiments, the second configuration further indicates a plurality of resources for the CSI-RS transmission in an SBFD symbol of the first slot, and the terminal device is may determine the set of resource by the following: determining a portion of the plurality of resources which is located within one or more downlink subbands of the SBFD symbol.

[0130] In some embodiments, the second configuration comprises a first set parameters and a second set of parameters for frequency resource allocation, and the terminal device may determine the set of resources by the following: determining a resource for the CSI-RS transmission on a non-SBFD symbol of the first slot using the first set of parameters; determining a resource for the CSI-RS transmission within a first downlink subband in an SBFD symbol of the first slot using the first set of parameters; and determining a resource for the CSI-RS transmission within a second downlink subband in the SBFD symbol using the second set of parameters.

[0131] In some embodiments, at least one of the following: the one or more SBFD slots do not overlap with the one or more slots for the CSI-RS transmission; or the terminal device is caused to determine the set of resources by: determining a resource for the CSI-RS in a slot  of the one or more slots which is not configured as the SBFD slot.

[0132] In some embodiments, the second configuration comprises a non-zero-power (NZP) CSI-RS resource set dedicated to the SBFD slot, and the terminal device may determine the set of resources by the following: determining, on an SBFD slot of the one or more SBFD time units which is indicated for a TRS transmission, a resource in the NZP CSI-RS resource set.

[0133] In some embodiments, the NZP CSI-RS resource set is enabled for TRS by a TRS parameter related to the SBFD slot. In some embodiments, the NZP CSI-RS resource set comprises four periodic TRS resources in two consecutive SBFD slots and each SBFD slot comprises two periodic TRS resource.

[0134] In some embodiments, a first period of the NZP CSI-RS resource set is equal to a second period of the one or more SBFD slots.
