AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

There is ambiguity in whether to provide specific report content and measurement behaviors for network-sided AI/ML models, and unclear methods for implementing measurements with the best UE receiving beam for model input.

Method used

A network device transmits a configuration for a measurement based on a set of RS resources to a terminal device, which determines and reports a first measurement result indicating a first number of RS resources associated with largest measured values for a set of time instances and a second number of largest measured values for each time instance, while a terminal device predicts information with a third measurement result as an input of a model.

Benefits of technology

This approach clarifies the beam report for model management and provides accurate measured results for network-sided AI/ML models, enhancing the accuracy of model inference.

Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices and methods of communication. In one aspect, a network device may transmit a configuration for a measurement based on a set of RS resources to a terminal device. Based on the configuration, the terminal device may determine that a first measurement result is required for model management, and report the first measurement result to the network device. In this way, ambiguity on whether to adopt a beam report for model management of a NW-sided AI / ML model may be avoided.

Description

[0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to the field of telecommunication, and in particular, to methods, devices and computer storage media of communication for an artificial intelligence (AI)  / machine learning (ML) model.BACKGROUND

[0002] For network (NW) sided AI / ML model, it has been discussed that data collection for NW sided AI / ML model may be transparent to user equipment (UE) , i.e., UE is not aware that a beam report is for AI / ML model inference at NW side. However, specific report content and measurement behaviors are agreed for providing suitable model inputs, even for NW sided AI / ML model.

[0003] For both NW sided and UE sided AI / ML model, it has been proved that good performance of AI / ML model inference is based on that a measurement result as a model input is measured with the best UE receiving (Rx) beam. However, it is still unclear how to implement such measurement with the best UE Rx beam.SUMMARY

[0035] In some examples, values, procedures, or apparatus are referred to as ‘best, ’ ‘lowest, ’ ‘highest, ’ ‘minimum, ’ ‘maximum, ’ or the like. It will be appreciated that such descriptions are intended to indicate that a selection among many used functional alternatives can be made, and such selections need not be better, smaller, higher, or otherwise preferable to other selections.

[0036] As mentioned above, a terminal device may not be aware that a beam report is for AI / ML model inference at NW side, and thus there is ambiguity on whether to provide specific report content and measurement behaviors for the NW sided AI / ML model. In addition, it is unclear how to implement a measurement with the best UE Rx beam for model input.

[0037] Thus, embodiments of the present disclosure provide solutions of communication for an AI / ML model. In one aspect, a network device may transmit a configuration for a measurement based on a set of RS resources to a terminal device. Based on the configuration, the terminal device may determine that a first measurement result is required for model management, and report the first measurement result to the network device. The first measurement result may indicate a first number of RS resources associated with a set of largest measured values for a set of time instances and a second number of largest measured values in a set of measured values for each time instance in the set of time instances, wherein the first number is unequal to the second number. In this way, ambiguity on whether to adopt a beam report for model management of a NW-sided AI / ML model may be avoided.

[0038] It is to be noted that the set of time instances may comprise only one time instance. In this case, the time instance refers to the current time instance or present time instance. In other words, no time instance may be involved.

[0039] In another aspect, upon reception of a configuration indicating a prediction of information related to a first set of RS resources based on a second set of RS resources, a terminal device may determine a third measurement result based on third measurements within a third period of time for a RS resource in the second set of RS resources, and predict the information with the third measurement result as an input of a model. In this way, an accurate measured result may be provided for model inference of a UE sided AI / ML model.

[0040] In the context of the present disclosure, the term ‘model management’ herein may refer to model training, model inference, model monitoring, or any other suitable model related operations.

[0108] In some embodiments, a beam report (also referred to as a first report herein) for model management (also referred to as for AI / ML herein) and a beam report (also referred to as a second report herein) unrelated to model management (also referred to as for non-AI / ML herein) may share the same measurement resources, which is much more efficient. In some embodiments, the configuration may indicate whether a first measurement result for model management (i.e., for AI / ML) or a second measurement result unrelated to model management (i.e., for non-AI / ML) is to be provided, i.e., whether the first report of the first measurement result or the second report (i.e., a legacy beam report) of the second measurement result is to be provided.

[0109] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise an explicit indication that the first report is to be provided. In other words, the configuration may comprise new information in addition to those configurations already specified for a legacy beam report. Upon reception of this new information, the terminal device 110 may consider that this beam report is for AI / ML. In some embodiments, the explicit indication may be one or more signaling provided in the report configuration or associated with the report configuration.

[0110] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise information of a model (i.e., NW sided AI / ML model) . For example, the configuration may comprise a dedicated configuration for AI / ML indicating a model ID, an ID (also referred to as an associated ID herein) associated with additional conditions, NW side additional conditions, UE side additional conditions, for model training, for model inference, for performance monitoring, etc.

[0111] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise information of overhead reduction in a report (i.e., beam report) of the beam measurement. For example, the configuration may comprise a dedicated configuration (e.g., an information element (IE) ‘lowOverheadCri-RSRP’ ) for overhead reduction in a beam report.

[0112] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise information of a report quantity for model management. For example, the configuration may comprise a report quantity configuration indicating a new report quantity, for example, ‘beaminfo-RSRP’ (or ‘beaminfo-SINR’ ) . The new report quantity may indicate a report of an associated ID for  UE side additional conditions, or UE Rx beamforming gain used to obtain the reported measured value (e.g., L1-RSRP) . The new report quantity may mean that an IE ‘reportQuantity’ indicates at least “RSRP” (or “SINR” ) but not one of the following: ‘cri-RSRP’ or ‘ssb-Index-RSRP’ or ‘cri-SINR’ , or ‘ssb-Index-SINR’ or ‘cri-RSRP-Index’ or ‘ssb-Index-RSRP-Index’ or ‘cri-SINR-Index’ , or ‘ssb-Index-SINR-Index’ .

[0113] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise information indicating that a certain number (also referred to as a second number (denoted as M) herein) of largest measured values is to be reported, i.e., Top M measured values are to be reported. For example, the configuration may comprise a ‘Top M’ configuration. If the ‘Top M’ configuration is present, e.g., if ‘Top M’ is configured, the terminal device 110 needs to provide the first report. ‘Top M’ is not configured for a legacy beam report.

[0114] In some embodiments, if M is equal to a size of a measurement resource set (i.e., number of RS resources in the set of RS resources) , content of the first report is all measured values (e.g., L1-RSRP) and one beam index (i.e., CSI-RS resource indicator (CRI)  / SSB resource indicator (SSBRI) ) for the largest measured value among measured values for the measurement resource set.

[0115] In some embodiments, if ‘Top M’ is not configured but other indications (e.g., the dedicated configuration for AI / ML, the dedicated configuration for overhead reduction in beam report, the report quantity configuration, etc. ) for the first report are provided, the terminal device 110 may assume that M is equal to the size of the measurement resource set, and need to provide the first report. In some embodiments, if ‘Top M’ is not configured, and number of reported RS (e.g., an IE ‘nrofReportedRS’ ) is configured as the same as the size of the measurement resource set, then the terminal device 110 needs to provide the first report. In some embodiments, if the IE ‘nrofReportedRS’ is configured, ‘Top M’ is not configured. In some embodiments, if the IE ‘nrofReportedRS’ is configured, ‘Top M’ may be ignored at least for the second report.

[0116] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise information of more than one resource set for the beam report. In other words, if more than one resource set (e.g., two resource sets) are configured for one beam report, the terminal device 110 needs to provide the first report.

[0117] For AI / ML, both Set B and Set A may be configured to the terminal device 110. In some embodiments, one CSI resource configuration ID is configured for Set B and the  terminal device 110 determines information of Set A. In some embodiments, one CSI resource configuration ID is configured for both Set A and Set B. In some embodiments, two CSI resource configuration IDs are configured for Set A and Set B separately. In some embodiments, one CSI resource configuration ID is configured for Set B and Set A is configured using one or more separate resource sets other than that represented by the CSI resource configuration ID. In some embodiments, separate CSI report configurations for Set A and Set B are configured. In some embodiments, association between Set A and Set B may have or have no additional IE. That is, the association between Set A and Set B may be indicated explicitly or implicitly, e.g., by having or having no additional IE configured for the association. In these embodiments, the terminal device 110 may consider that two resource sets are configured for one beam report, and need to provide the first report.

[0118] In some embodiments, the more than one resource set may have different sizes. For example, if two resource sets are configured, one resource set may have a size of Set B, and the other resource set may have a size of Set A. In some embodiments, the more than one resource set may have different RS types. For example, if two resource sets are configured, one resource set may be associated with SSB, and the other resource set may be associated with CSI-RS.

[0119] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise information indicating that a set of measured values that have a difference from a largest measured value lower than or equal to a first threshold (e.g., X dB) is to be reported. For example, the configuration may comprise a ‘X dB gap’ configuration. If the ‘X dB gap’ configuration (e.g., IE ‘xdB’ ) is present, then the terminal device 110 may need to provide the first report.

[0120] In some embodiments, if “X dB gap” is configured, a bitwidth of an index of a differential measured value (e.g., L1-RSRP) in the first report may be determined by an equation (1) below. B = ceil (log2 (X / S) )      (1)

[0121] where B denotes the bitwidth of the index of the differential measured value, X denotes the X dB gap, and S denotes a step size (e.g., [2dB] ) .

[0122] For example, the differential measured value may be computed with [2dB] step size with a reference to the largest measured value which is part of the same measured value reporting instance.

[0123] In some embodiments, if ‘X dB gap’ is not configured but other indications (e.g., the  dedicated configuration for AI / ML, the dedicated configuration for overhead reduction in beam report, the report quantity configuration, the Top M configuration, etc. ) for the first report are provided, the terminal device 110 may assume that X = 30dB, and need to provide the first report.

[0124] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise information indicating that a set of measured values larger than or equal to a second threshold (e.g., Y dBm) is to be reported. For example, the configuration may comprise a ‘Y dBm threshold’ configuration. If the ‘Y dBm threshold’ configuration is present, then the terminal device 110 may only report one or more beams with a measured value (e.g., L1-RSRP) larger than or equal to Y dBm.

[0125] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise timing information associated with the beam measurement. In some embodiments, the timing information may indicate a certain number (also referred to as a third number (denoted as K) herein) of time instances. For example, the configuration may comprise a ‘K latest measurement instances’ configuration. In this case, the configuration may comprise a ‘Top M’ configuration, where M = K×the size of the measurement resource set. Alternatively, the configuration may comprise a ‘Top M” configuration, where M’ = the size of the measurement resource set. In some embodiments, M’ may be different for each of K latest measurement instances, e.g., M1’, M2’ , …, MK’ . In some embodiments, M1’ ≤ M2’ ≤ …≤ MK’ . Alternatively, M1’ ≥M2’≥ …≥ MK’ .

[0126] In some embodiments, when ‘Top M’ is configured and M is larger than the size of the measurement resource set, the terminal device 110 may consider that this beam report is for AI / ML.

[0127] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise the ‘K latest measurement instances’ configuration and a ‘X dB gap’ configuration for each of K latest measurement instances. In some embodiments, X may be different for each of K latest measurement instances, e.g., X1’ , X2’ , …, XK’ . In some embodiments, X1’ ≤ X2’ ≤ …≤ XK’ . Alternatively, X1’ ≥ X2’ ≥ …≥ XK’ .

[0128] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise the ‘K latest measurement instances’ configuration, and a ‘report quantity’ configuration indicting a new report quantity for each of K latest measurement instances or over K latest measurement instances.

[0129] In some embodiments, the timing information may indicate a measurement window.  For example, the configuration may comprise a measurement window configuration or a configuration of K last time instances. In some embodiments, the timing information may ndicate a measurement interval. For example, the configuration may comprise a measurement interval configuration. In some embodiments, the timing information may indicate a prediction window. For example, the configuration may comprise a prediction interval configuration or a configuration of F future time instances.

[0130] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise an implicit indication that the first report is to be provided. In other words, the configuration may comprise those configurations already specified for a legacy beam report with some specific values. Upon reception of one or more legacy configurations with some specific values, the terminal device 110 may consider that this beam report is for AI / ML. In some embodiments, the implicit indication may be one or more specific values provided in the report configuration or associated with the report configuration.

[0131] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise number of reported RSs (e.g., an IE ‘nrofReportedRS’ ) that is larger than a first value. For example, the first value may be 4 or larger than 4. In other words, if the number of reported RSs is larger than 4, the terminal device 110 needs to provide the first report. In some embodiments, if there is no ‘nrofReportedRS’ configuration for a resource set, the terminal device 110 needs to provide the first report. In some embodiments, if ‘Top M’ is configured, ‘nrofReportedRS’ may be not configured. In some embodiments, if ‘Top M’ is configured, ‘nrofReportedRS’ may be ignored at least for the first report. In some embodiments, the configuration may indicate that the second number (i.e., M) is larger than a third value. For example, the third value may be 4 or larger than 4. In some embodiments, the configuration may indicate that the second number (i.e., M) is larger than number of RS resources in the set of RS resources (i.e., the size of the measurement resource set) .

[0132] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise number of RS resources in the set of RS resources that is larger than a second value. For example, the second value may be 64 or larger than 64. In other words, if the size of the measurement resource set is larger than 64, the terminal device 110 needs to provide the first report.

[0133] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise absence of repetition information for the set of RS resources (i.e., the measurement resource set) . In a legacy beam measurement configuration, it may only be configured for CSI-RS resource sets which  are associated with a CSI report configuration (e.g., an IE ‘CSI-ReportConfig’ ) with report of L1-RSRP, L1-SINR or ‘no report’ . For AI / ML, such configuration is not needed, and the terminal device 110 may not assume that NZP-CSI-RS resources within the measurement resource set are transmitted with the same downlink spatial domain transmission filter.

[0134] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise absence of QCL information for a RS resource in the set of RS resources. A QCL information configuration may be configured to indicate a QCL reference signal or TCI states applied for the RS resource, including QCL information (e.g., an IE ‘qcl-InfoPeriodicCSI-RS’ ) for periodic resources and QCL information (e.g., an IE ‘qcl-info’ in an IE ‘CSI-AssociatedReportConfigInfo’ ) for aperiodic resources. For AI / ML, such QCL information configuration is not needed, and the terminal device 110 may always measure the RS resource with the best Rx beam.

[0135] It is to be noted that any combinations of the above explicit and implicit indications may also be feasible, and the present disclosure does not limit this aspect.

[0136] Continuing to refer to FIG. 2, based on the explicit indication and / or the implicit indication in the configuration, the terminal device 110 may determine 220 that the first report is to be provided or the first measurement result is required for model management. Then the terminal device 110 may report 230 the first measurement result to the network device 120, i.e., the first report. In some embodiments, if the configuration does not comprise the above explicit or implicit indications, the terminal device 110 may determine that the second report or the second measurement result unrelated to model management is to be provided. Then the terminal device 110 may report the second measurement result to the network device 120, i.e., the second report.

[0137] In general, the first report or the second report may indicate N beam information and M indexes of measured values. It is at least applicable for model inference for NW sided AI / ML model for beam measurement (BM) -Case 1. Here, M denotes number of reported measured values, e.g., number of L1-RSRP or number of L1-SINR in a beam report. N denotes number of reported beam information, e.g., number of reported CRI or SSBRI in a beam report.

[0138] In one aspect, the first report and the second report may be different for values of M and N and a relationship between M and N. For the first report, M ≠ N, M ≠ 0, and N ≠ 0. Alternatively or additionally, M ≠ N, and N =1. For the second report, M = N, or N = 0.

[0139] In another aspect, the first report and the second report may be different in beam  selection methods. For the first report, the largest M measured values are reported. For the second report, up to the terminal device 110, it is unnecessary to be the largest M measured values.

[0140] In still another aspect, the first report and the second report may be different in quantization of measured values and / or differential measured values. For the first report, if M is equal to the size of the measurement resource set, the content of the first report may comprise indexes of all measured values, and one beam index (i.e., N=1) for the largest measured value for the measurement resource set. For the second report, M is equal to the number of reported RSs. If M is equal to the size of the measurement resource set, the content of the second report may comprise M indexes of all measured values, and M beam index (i.e., N=M) for all measured values for the measurement resource set. Additionally, N=0 if CRI is not reported.

[0141] In some embodiments, the first measurement result may indicate a certain number (for convenience, also referred to as a first number (i.e., N) herein) of RS resources associated with a set of largest measured values for a set of time instances (also referred to as measurement instances herein) , and the second number (i.e., M) of largest measured values in a set of measured values for each time instance in the set of time instances, where M ≠ N. It is assumed that number of time instances of the set of time instances is denoted as K.

[0142] In some embodiments, the set of time instances may comprise only one time instance (i.e., K=1) , e.g., for BM-Case 1. This time instance may be a current or present time instance, and may not involve a last time instance or a future time instance. In other words, a time instance may not be involved in this case. If the second number (i.e., M) is equal to number of RS resources in the set of RS resources, the first measurement result may comprise: information of a RS resource associated with a largest measured value for the set of RS resources at the time instance, and information of the second number of largest measured values in the set of measured values for the set of RS resources.

[0143] In some embodiments for BM-Case 2, if the second number (i.e., M) is equal to a product of number of RS resources in the set of RS resources and number (i.e., K) of time instances in the set of time instances, and the set of largest measured values comprises only one largest measured value (i.e., N=1) , the first measurement result may comprise: information of a RS resource associated with the largest measured value for the set of RS resources at the set of time instances, and information of the second number of largest  measured values in the set of measured values for the set of RS resources at each time instance in the set of time instances. In other words, the first report may have 1 beam information and K×M’ indexes of measured values, where M’ = the size of the measurement resource set. Alternatively, the first report may have 1 beam information and M indexes of measured values, where M = K×the size of the measurement resource set. Alternatively, the first report may have 1 beam information and M indexes of measured values, where M / K= the size of the measurement resource set.

[0144] In some embodiments for BM-Case 2, if the second number (i.e., M) is equal to a product of number of RS resources in the set of RS resources and number (i.e., K) of time instances in the set of time instances, and the set of largest measured values comprises K largest measured values (i.e., N=K) , the first measurement result may comprise: information of a RS resource associated with a largest measured value for the set of RS resources at each time instance in the set of time instances, and information of the second number of largest measured values in the set of measured values for the set of RS resources at each time instance in the set of time instances. In other words, the first report may have K beam information and K×M’ indexes of measured values, where M’ = the size of the measurement resource set. Alternatively, the first report may have K beam information and M indexes of measured values, where M = K×the size of the measurement resource set.

[0145] In some embodiments, information of the largest M’ (or M / K) measured value (s) per time instance may be reported.

[0146] For example, for each of K latest measurement instances, L1-RSRPs and corresponding beam information of Top M’ beam (s) with largest M’ measured value (s) of L1-RSRP (s) of a measurement resource set at one measurement instance, where K and M’ are configured by the network device 120. If M’ = the size of the measurement resource set, (or if M = K×the size of the measurement resource set) , the content of the first report is all (K × M’ or M) L1-RSRPs and K beam indexes (i.e., CRI / SSBRI) for the largest measured values of L1-RSRP of the measurement resource set at each of K latest measurement instances. Alternatively, the content of the first report is all (K × M’ or M) L1-RSRPs and 1 beam index (i.e., CRI / SSBRI) for the largest measured value of L1-RSRP of the measurement resource set over K latest measurement instances.

[0147] In some embodiments, for each of the K beam indexes, the bitwidth may be determined by an equation (2) below. B1 = ceil (log2 (N1) )       (2)

[0148] where B1 denotes the bitwidth of one of the K beam indexes, and N1 denotes the size of the measurement resource set.

[0149] In some embodiments, for the 1 beam index, the bitwidth may be determined by an equation (3) or (4) below. B2 = ceil (log2 (K×N1) )       (3) B2 = ceil (log2 (K) ) +ceil (log2 (N1) )       (4)

[0150] where B2 denotes the bitwidth of the 1 beam index, K denotes number of measurement instances, and N1 denotes the size of the measurement resource set.

[0151] It is to be noted that the above equations (1) to (4) are merely examples, and any other suitable forms may also be feasible.

[0152] So far, the first measurement result may be accurately and efficiently reported to NW for model management (e.g., for model training or model inference or model monitoring) .

[0153] To ensure measured values for model inputs may be obtained by the best Rx beam, embodiments of the present disclosure also provide a solution of data collection, i.e., a solution of determining a measurement result (e.g., the first or second measurement result) based on the best Rx beam. In the solution, the terminal device 110 may determine the measurement result based on measurements within a period of time for a RS resource in the set of RS resources. For illustration, this solution will be described in connection with FIGs. 3A to 3C below.

[0154] FIG. 3A illustrates a signaling chart illustrating an example process 300A of data collection according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the process 300A will be described with reference to FIG. 1. The process 300A may involve the terminal device 110 and the network device 120 as illustrated in FIG. 1. It is to be understood that steps and an order of the steps in FIG. 3A are merely for illustration, and not for limitation. For example, the order of the steps may be changed. Some of the steps may be omitted or any other suitable additional steps may be added.

[0155] As shown in FIG. 3A, the terminal device 110 may determine 310 that the first report (i.e., beam report for AI / ML) of the first measurement result is to be provided. In some embodiments, if the beam measurement and report configuration comprises the explicit or implicit indication, the terminal device 110 may determine that the first report is to be  provided, as that described in the process 200. It is to be noted that any other suitable ways may also be feasible, and the present disclosure does not limit this aspect.

[0156] Upon determination that the first report is to be provided, the terminal device 110 may determine 320 the first measurement result based on first measurements within a first period of time for a RS resource in the set of RS resources. Then the terminal device 110 may report 325 the first measurement result to the network device 120.

[0157] With reference to FIG. 3A, in some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine 330 that the second report (i.e., beam report for non-AI / ML) of the second measurement result is to be provided. In some embodiments, if the configuration for beam measurement and report does not comprises the explicit or implicit indication, the terminal device 110 may determine that the second report is to be provided, as that described in the process 200. It is to be noted that any other suitable ways may also be feasible, and the present disclosure does not limit this aspect.

[0158] Upon determination that the second report is to be provided, the terminal device 110 may determine 340 the second measurement result based on second measurements within a second period of time for a RS resource in the set of RS resources. Then the terminal device 110 may report 345 the second measurement result to the network device 120.

[0159] In some embodiments, the beam report for AI / ML and the beam report for non-AI / ML may share the same measurement resources, which is much more efficient.

[0160] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may differentiate whether a beam report is for AI / ML or for non-AI / ML based on the explicit indication and implicit indication as described in the process 200. The first report is the beam report used for AI / ML model inference at NW side, and the second report is the beam report (i.e., legacy beam report) that is not used for AI / ML model.

[0161] In some embodiments, in addition to the differences between the first report and the second report as described in the process 200, the first report and the second report may also be different in Rx beam for measurement and in measurement period. For the first report, the best Rx beam may be used for measurement. For the second report, QCL information is configured to provide guidance for a terminal device to select a suitable Rx beam. In terms of the measurement period, the measurement period of obtaining measured values for model inputs shall be longer than the measurement period of obtaining measured values for the legacy beam report.

[0162] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the first measurement result by ignoring a part of the beam measurement and report configuration. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may ignore QCL information for a RS resource in the set of RS resources. For example, a QCL information configuration may be provided for a measurement resource (i.e., RS resource) . The QCL information configuration is configured to indicate the QCL reference signal or TCI states applied for the measurement resource, including QCL information (e.g., an IE ‘qcl-InfoPeriodicCSI-RS’ ) for periodic resources and QCL information (e.g., an IE ‘qcl-info’ in an IE ‘CSI-AssociatedReportConfigInfo’ ) for aperiodic resources. In addition, the QCL information configuration includes QCL implicitly determined based on unified TCI state or based on some default rules such as QCL of a PDCCH or a control resource set (CORESET) , QCL of other signals on the same symbol of CSI-RS, a SSB used during an initial access or the latest random access, etc. It is valid for the beam report used for non-AI / ML but is invalid for the beam report used for AI / ML. Then, the terminal device 110 may ignore this QCL information configuration for the beam report used for AI / ML. Alternatively, the terminal device 110 may assume that the QCL information configuration is always not configured.

[0163] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may ignore repetition information for the set of RS resources. For example, a ‘repetition’ configuration may be provided for a measurement resource set to indicate whether the terminal device 110 may assume that the CSI-RS resources within a non-zero power (NZP) CSI-RS resource set are transmitted with the same downlink spatial domain transmission filter or not. It is valid for the beam report used for non-AI / ML but is invalid for the beam report used for AI / ML. Then the terminal device 110 may ignore this configuration for the beam report used for AI / ML. Alternatively, the terminal device 110 may assume that the ‘repetition’ configuration is always ‘off’ .

[0164] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may ignore time restriction information for channel measurement. For example, a ‘timeRestrictionForChannelMeasurement’ configuration may be provided for a report configuration. It is valid for the beam report used for non-AI / ML but is invalid for the beam report used for AI / ML. Then the terminal device 110 may ignore UE this configuration for the beam report used for AI / ML. Alternatively, the terminal device 110 may assume that the ‘timeRestrictionForChannelMeasurement’ configuration is always configured.

[0165] Since the beam report for AI / ML and the beam report for non-AI / ML may share the same measurement resources, a measurement of one resource may result in two different  measurement results, and a sharing factor P may be used to control the time used for AI / ML and non-AI / ML, e.g., sharing factor P=2 may be applied. Alternatively or additionally, other values of P may be configured by the network device 120, or reported by the terminal device 110 as capability of the terminal device 110, or predefined or defined by AI / ML model.

[0166] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the first or second period of time based on an equation (5) below. T1 = max (TReport, ceil (m×P×n) ×TCSI-RS)       (5)

[0167] where T1 denotes the first or second period of time; TReport denotes a configured periodicity for reporting, it may be expected that TReport ≥ ceil (m×P×n) ×TCSI-RS, otherwise the reported measured value may not be obtained with the best Rx beam of the terminal device 110, which is not suitable for AI / ML model inference; TCSI-RS denotes a periodicity of CSI-RS configured for measurement; m denotes a factor related to number of measurements; P denotes a factor related to sharing of concurrent measurements for overlapping multiple purposes; and n denotes a factor related to number of Rx beams. In addition, during discontinuous reception (DRX) , T1 may also be related to the DRX duration (e.g., TDRX) .

[0168] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the first period of time and the second period of time by assuming different values of m, P and n in the equation (5) . In some embodiments for the first period of time, the terminal device 110 may set m to be 1 (i.e., only the latest one measurement is considered) without considering time restriction information for channel measurement (i.e., no matter of a ‘time restriction for channel measurement’ configuration) . In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may set n to be number of receiving beams swept. In the worst case, n may be equal to the maximum number of Rx beams. In some examples, n may be other values that the terminal device 110 reports to the network device 120 or the network device 120 provides with AI / ML model information. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may set P to be PAIML that denotes a factor related to sharing of concurrent measurements at least for overlapping AI / ML and non-AI / ML measurements (i.e., overlapping between the first measurements and the second measurements) . Additionally, the terminal device 110 may also consider other sharing factor P’ , for example, a factor related to sharing of concurrent measurements for a measurement gap (GAP) and / or SSB measurement timing configuration (SMTC) . In this case, P = PAIML×P’ .

[0169] In some embodiments for the second period of time, the terminal device 110 may  set, for periodic and semi-persistent CSI-RS resources, m=1 if a higher layer parameter ‘time restriction for channel measurement’ is configured and m=3 otherwise, and set m=1 for aperiodic CSI-RS resources. In some embodiments, for periodic CSI-RS resources in a resource set and semi-persistent CSI-RS resources in a resource set, the terminal device 110 may set n=1 if the terminal device 110 is configured with a higher layer parameter ‘repetition’ set to off, and set n=ceil (Nmax  / Nres_per_set) if the terminal device 110 is configured with a higher layer parameter ‘repetition’s et to on, where Nmax denotes the maximum number of Rx beams, and Nres_per_set denotes number of resources in the resource set. For aperiodic CSI-RS resources, the terminal device 110 may set n=1. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may set P to be PAIML that denotes a factor related to AI / ML and non-AI / ML sharing. Alternatively, the terminal device 110 may set P to be 1 when CSI-RS is not overlapped with GAP and also not overlapped with a SMTC occasion.

[0170] In some embodiments for BM-Case 2, results of K measurement instances may be needed. Based on capability of the terminal device 110, the terminal device 110 may perform independent Rx beam determination for each of K different measurement instances. In this case, the first period of time is needed for each of K different measurement instances. FIG. 3B illustrates a signaling chart illustrating an example process 300B of independent Rx beam determination according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the process 300B will be described with reference to FIG. 1. The process 300B may involve the terminal device 110 and the network device 120 as illustrated in FIG. 1. It is assumed that the first report is to be provided.

[0171] As shown in FIG. 3B, the network device 120 may transmit 350 one or more RSs on the set of RS resources for a i-th measurement instance. The terminal device 110 may determine 351 the first measurements within the first period of time for the i-th measurement instance, e.g., by determining the largest measured value within the first period of time as a measurement result for the i-th measurement instance. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may ignore the part of the beam measurement and report configuration during the determination of the first measurements for the i-th measurement instance.

[0172] As shown in FIG. 3B, the network device 120 may transmit 352 one or more RSs on the set of RS resources for a j-th measurement instance. The terminal device 110 may determine 353 the first measurements within the first period of time for the j-th measurement instance, e.g., by determining the largest measured value within the first period of time as a measurement result for the j-th measurement instance. In some embodiments, the terminal  device 110 may ignore the part of the beam measurement and report configuration during the determination of the first measurements for the j-th measurement instance.

[0173] In some embodiments, based on capability of the terminal device 110, the terminal device 110 may perform joint (i.e., one) Rx beam determination for all K different measurement instances. In some embodiments, the first period of time may be needed for one (e.g., the first measurement instance) of K different measurement instances. FIG. 3C illustrates a signaling chart illustrating an example process 300C of joint Rx beam determination according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the process 300C will be described with reference to FIG. 1. The process 300C may involve the terminal device 110 and the network device 120 as illustrated in FIG. 1. It is assumed that the first report is to be provided.

[0174] As shown in FIG. 3C, the network device 120 may transmit 360 one or more RSs on the set of RS resources for a i-th measurement instance. The terminal device 110 may determine 361 the first measurements within the first period of time for the i-th measurement instance, e.g., by determining the largest measured value within the first period of time as a measurement result for the i-th measurement instance. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may ignore the part of the beam measurement and report configuration during the determination of the first measurements for the i-th measurement instance.

[0175] As shown in FIG. 3C, the network device 120 may transmit 362 one or more RSs on the set of RS resources for a j-th measurement instance. The terminal device 110 may determine 363 the first measurements for the j-th measurement instance based on a quasi-optimal Rx beam from the last measurement instance. In some embodiment, the terminal device 110 may determine the first measurements for the j-th measurement instance based on the same Rx beam from the last (e.g., i-th) measurement instance. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may ignore the part of the beam measurement and report configuration during the determination of the first measurements for the j-th measurement instance.

[0176] In some alternative or additional embodiments, independent (or one) Rx determination for every k’ measurement instances in K different measurement instances. In this case, the first period of time may be needed for the first measurement instance in the k’ measurement instances.

[0177] So far, it is ensured that measured values for model inputs are obtained by the best  Rx beam.

[0178] To reduce a log size and report overhead for AI / ML model management (e.g., model training) , embodiments of the present disclosure also provide a solution of logging a measurement result. It is to be noted that this solution may be applied to any of the processes 200, 300A, 300B and 300C. For convenience, this solution will be described in connection with FIG. 2 below.

[0179] As shown in FIG. 2, upon determination of the first measurement result, the terminal device 110 may log 240 the first measurement result without immediately reporting the first measurement result. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine a periodicity for the logging, and log a largest measured value among measured values obtained within the periodicity. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the periodicity based on number of Rx beams swept and a periodicity of a RS resource (i.e., measurement resource) . For example, the periodicity may be determined by an equation (6) below. Tperiodicity = n×TCSI-RS       (6)

[0180] where Tperiodicity denotes a periodicity for the logging, n denotes number of Rx beams swept, and TCSI-RS denotes a periodicity of a RS resource configured for the beam measurement.

[0181] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may only log the largest measured value among n measured values for one measurement resource.

[0182] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the periodicity of the logging based on the first period of time. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the first period of time as the periodicity of the logging, e.g., by the equation (5) with a corresponding assumption of m, P, and n. Other details of the determination of the periodicity of the logging are not repeated here for conciseness.

[0183] Alternatively, the terminal device 110 may determine the periodicity of the logging by an equation (7) below. Tperiodicity = max (Tlog, ceil (m×P×n) ×TCSI-RS)       (7)

[0184] where Tperiodicity denotes a periodicity for the logging; Tlog denotes a configured periodicity for the logging; n denotes number of Rx beams swept; TCSI-RS denotes a periodicity of a RS resource configured for the beam measurement; m=1, i.e., only the latest one measurement is considered, no matter of a ‘time restriction for channel measurement’ configuration; and P  denotes a factor related to sharing of concurrent measurements for overlapping multiple purposes. The terminal device 110 may set P to be PAIML that denotes a factor related to sharing of concurrent measurements at least for overlapping AI / ML and non-AI / ML measurements. Additionally, the terminal device 110 may also consider other sharing factor P’, for example, a factor related to sharing of concurrent measurements for GAP and / or SMTC. In this case, P = PAIML×P’ . In addition, during DRX, Tperiodicity may also be related to the DRX duration (e.g., TDRX) .

[0185] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may only log the largest measured value among all measured values for one measurement resource obtained within Tperiodicity.

[0186] In some embodiments, the beam measurement and report configuration may indicate that the second number of largest measured values is to be reported. If the second number is the same as number of resources in the second set of resources, the terminal device 110 may only log information of the second number of largest measured values. Alternatively, the terminal device 110 may log information of a RS resource associated with a largest measured value for each time instance or for the set of RS resources, and log the information of the second number of largest measured values for each time instance.

[0187] Similarly as that in the processes 300A to 300C, the terminal device 110 may ignore one or many of the following configurations for the beam measurement for logging the training for AI / ML: ‘qcl-info’ configuration, ‘repetition’ configuration, and ‘timeRestrictionForChannelMeasurement’ configuration. Alternatively, the terminal device 110 may assume that ‘qcl-info’ is always not configured, or assume that ‘repetition’ is always ‘off’ , or assume that ‘timeRestrictionForChannelMeasurement’ is always configured.

[0188] Similarly as that in the process 200, a low overhead log content may be used. In some embodiments where Top M is configured, when M is equal to number of RS resources in the set of RS resources, only one beam information and M measured values (e.g., L1-RSRP) are logged. Alternatively or additionally, since logged results will be reported using a higher layer signaling, and differential measured values may not apply for the logged results, only M measured values are logged. Otherwise, M beam information and M measured values are logged.

[0189] In some embodiments, Top M or M’ is configured, and K latest measurement instances is configured. For each of K latest measurement instances, when M’ is equal to the number of RS resources in the set of RS resources, only 1 beam information and M’  measured values are logged for each of K latest measurement instances, or 1 beam information across K latest measurement instances and M’ measured values are logged for each of K latest measurement instances. Alternatively or additionally, since logged results will be reported using a higher layer signaling, and differential measured values may not apply for the logged results, only M’ measured values are logged. Otherwise, M’ beam information and M’ measured values are logged.

[0190] In some embodiments, when M is equal to a product of K and the number of RS resources in the set of RS resources, only K or 1 beam information and M (or M’ ×K) measured values are logged. Alternatively or additionally, since logged results will be reported using a higher layer signaling, and differential measured values may not apply for the logged results, only M measured values are logged. Otherwise, M beam information and M measured values are logged.

[0191] In some embodiments, other information at the terminal device 110 side may be logged. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may log a Rx beamforming gain for the logged measured values. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may log condition information (e.g., UE side additional information) of the terminal device 110. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may log an indication (e.g., associated ID) associated with the additional information.

[0192] With reference to FIG. 2, the terminal device 110 may report 250 a logged set of first measurement results to the network device 120, e.g., for model training, etc. In this way, the log size or report overhead may be reduced.

[0193] It is to be understood that operations in the processes 200, 300A, 300B and 300C may be carried out separately or in any suitable combinations.

[0194] EXAMPLE IMPLEMENTATION OF MANAGEMENT OF UE SIDED AI / ML MODEL

[0195] To provide accurate measured values for model inference at a terminal device side, embodiments of the present disclosure also provide a solution of beam prediction. This solution will be described in connection with FIG. 4 below.

[0196] FIG. 4 illustrates a signaling chart illustrating another process 400 of communication according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the process 400 will be described with reference to FIG. 1. The process 400 may involve the terminal device 110 and the network device 120 as illustrated in FIG. 1. It is to be understood that steps and an order of the steps in FIG. 4 are merely for illustration, and not  for limitation. For example, the order of the steps may be changed. Some of the steps may be omitted or any other suitable additional steps may be added. It is assumed that an AI / ML model is deployed at the terminal device 110.

[0197] As shown in FIG. 4, the network device 120 may transmit 410, to the terminal device 110, a configuration indicating a prediction of information related to a first set of RS resources (i.e., Set A) based on a second set of RS resources (i.e., Set B) . It is to be noted that the present disclosure does not limit contents of the configuration.

[0198] Based on reception of the configuration, the terminal device 110 may determine 420 a third measurement result based on third measurements within a third period of time for a RS resource in the second set of RS resources. In this way, measured values with the best Rx beam may be obtained, and thus accurate measured values may be provided for model inference at a terminal device side.

[0199] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the third measurement result by ignoring a part of the configuration. In some embodiments, the part of the configuration may comprise at least one of the following: QCL information for a RS resource in the second set of RS resources; repetition information for the second set of RS resources; or time restriction information for channel measurement.

[0200] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the third period of time based at least on at least one of the following: a time required for selecting the model; a time required for performing a model inference of the model; a factor related to number of measurements set as 1 without considering time restriction information for channel measurement; a factor related to number of receiving beams set as number of receiving beams swept; or a factor related to sharing of concurrent measurements at least for overlapping between the third measurements and fourth measurements unrelated to model management.

[0201] For example, the third period of time may be determined by an equation (8) below. T3=max (TReport, ceil (m×P×n) ×TCSI-RS + Tmodel-selection + Tinference)         (8)

[0202] where T3 denotes the third period of time; Tmodel-selection denotes time required for selecting a suitable model; Tinference denotes time required for performing the model inference; TReport denotes a configured periodicity for reporting, it may be expected that TReport ≥ ceil (m×P×n) ×TCSI-RS + Tmodel-selection + Tinference, otherwise the reported prediction may not be obtained with suitable model inputs for AI / ML model inference; TCSI-RS denotes a periodicity  of CSI-RS configured for measurement; m=1, i.e., only the latest one measurement is considered, no matter of a ‘time restriction for channel measurement’ configuration; n denotes number of receiving beams swept, and n may be equal to the maximum number of Rx beams in the worst case, or may be other values that the terminal device 110 reports to the network device 120 or the network device 120 provides with AI / ML model information; and P is set to be PAIML that is a factor related to sharing of concurrent measurements at least for overlapping AI / ML and non-AI / ML measurements (i.e., overlapping between the third measurements and the fourth measurements) . Additionally, the terminal device 110 may also consider other sharing factor P’ , for example, a factor related to sharing of concurrent measurements for GAP and / or SMTC. In this case, P = PAIML×P’ . In addition, during DRX, T3 may also be related to the DRX duration (e.g., TDRX) .

[0203] In some embodiments, Tmodel-selection may be a fourth value if an associated ID is provided in the configuration. In some embodiments, Tmodel-selection may be a fifth value if the associated ID is not provided in the configuration. The associated ID may be used to ensure consistency between model training and model inference if the associated ID is provided. Less time is expected for selecting a suitable model, e.g., the fourth value is smaller than the fifth value.

[0204] In some embodiments for BM-Case 2, results of K measurement instances may be needed. Based on capability of the terminal device 110, the terminal device 110 may perform independent Rx beam determination for each of K different measurement instances. In this case, the third period of time is needed for each of K different measurement instances.

[0205] In some embodiments, based on capability of the terminal device 110, the terminal device 110 may perform joint (i.e., one) Rx beam determination for all K different measurement instances. In some embodiments, the third period of time may be needed for one (e.g., the first measurement instance) of K different measurement instances.

[0206] In some alternative or additional embodiments, independent (or one) Rx determination for every k’ measurement instances in K different measurement instances. In this case, the third period of time may be needed for the first measurement instance in the k’ measurement instances.

[0207] It is to be noted that other details of determination of the third measurement result are similar as that described for determination of the first measurement result in FIGs. 3A to 3C, and are not repeated here for conciseness.

[0208] Continuing to refer to FIG. 4, the terminal device 110 may predict 430 the information with the third measurement result as an input of the model. As shown in FIG. 4, the terminal device 110 may report 440 the predicted information to the network device 120.

[0209] So far, it is ensured that measured values for model inputs may be obtained by the best Rx beam and predicted information may be reported to NW.

[0210] With reference to FIG. 4, in some embodiments, upon determination of the third measurement result, the terminal device 110 may log 450 the third measurement result. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine a periodicity for the logging, and log a largest measured value among measured values obtained within the periodicity.

[0211] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the periodicity based on number of Rx beams swept and a periodicity of a RS resource (i.e., measurement resource) , e,g., via the above equation (6) . In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may only log the largest measured value among n measured values for one measurement resource.

[0212] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the periodicity of the logging based on the third period of time. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the third period of time as the periodicity of the logging, e.g., by the equation (8) . Other details of the determination of the periodicity of the logging are not repeated here for conciseness.

[0213] Alternatively, the terminal device 110 may determine the periodicity of the logging by an equation (9) below. T’periodicity=max (Tlog, ceil (m×P×n) ×TCSI-RS + Tmodel-selection + Tinference)          (9)

[0214] where T’ periodicity denotes a periodicity for the logging; Tlog denotes a configured periodicity for the logging; Tmodel-selection denotes time required for selecting a suitable model; Tinference denotes time required for performing the model inference; n denotes number of Rx beams swept; TCSI-RS denotes a periodicity of a RS resource configured for the beam measurement; m=1, i.e., only the latest one measurement is considered, no matter of a ‘time restriction for channel measurement’ configuration; and P denotes a factor related to sharing of concurrent measurements for overlapping multiple purposes. The terminal device 110 may set P to be PAIML that denotes a factor related to sharing of concurrent measurements at least for overlapping AI / ML and non-AI / ML measurements. Additionally, the terminal device 110 may also consider other sharing factor P’ , for example, a factor related to sharing of  concurrent measurements for GAP and / or SMTC. In this case, P = PAIML×P’ . In addition, during DRX, T’ periodicity may also be related to the DRX duration (e.g., TDRX) .

[0215] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may only log the largest measured value among all measured values for one measurement resource obtained within T’ periodicity.

[0216] In some embodiments, if number (also referred to as a fourth number herein) of predicted beams is the same as number of resources in the second set of resources, the terminal device 110 may only log information of the fourth number of largest measured values. Alternatively, the terminal device 110 may log information of a RS resource associated with a largest measured value for each time instance or for the set of RS resources, and log the information of the fourth number of largest measured values for each time instance.

[0217] Similarly as that in the processes 300A to 300C, the terminal device 110 may ignore one or many of the following configurations for the beam measurement for logging the training for AI / ML: ‘qcl-info’ configuration, ‘repetition’ configuration, and ‘timeRestrictionForChannelMeasurement’ configuration. Alternatively, the terminal device 110 may assume that ‘qcl-info’ is always not configured, or assume that ‘repetition’ is always ‘off’ , or assume that ‘timeRestrictionForChannelMeasurement’ is always configured.

[0218] Similarly as that in the process 200, a low overhead log content may be used. In some embodiments where Top M is configured, when M is equal to number of RS resources in the set of RS resources, only one beam information and M measured values (e.g., L1-RSRP) are logged. Alternatively or additionally, since logged results may not be reported or may be reported using other signaling to a model training entity, and differential measured values may not apply for the logged results, only M measured values are logged. Otherwise, M beam information and M measured values are logged.

[0219] In some embodiments, Top M or M’ is configured, and K latest measurement instances is configured. Alternatively or additionally, since logged results may not be reported or may be reported using other signaling to a model training entity, and differential measured values may not apply for the logged results, only M’ measured values  are logged. Otherwise, M’ beam information and M’ measured values are logged.

[0220] In some embodiments, when M is equal to a product of K and the number of RS resources in the set of RS resources, only K or 1 beam information and M (or M’ ×K) measured values are logged. Alternatively or additionally, since logged results may not be reported or may be reported using other signaling to a model training entity, and differential measured values may not apply for the logged results, only M measured values are logged. Otherwise, M beam information and M measured values are logged.

[0221] In some embodiments, other information at the terminal device 110 side may be logged.

[0222] Continuing to refer to FIG. 4, the terminal device 110 may apply 460 a logged set of third measurement results for model training at the terminal device 110. In this way, a log size may be reduced.

[0223] It is to be understood that operations in the process 400 may be carried out separately or in any suitable combinations.

[0224] EXAMPLE IMPLEMENTATION OF METHODS

[0225] Corresponding to the above processes, embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods of communication implemented at a terminal device and a network device. These methods will be described below with reference to FIGs. 5 to 7.

[0226] FIG. 5 illustrates a flowchart of a method 500 of communication implemented at a terminal device in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For example, the method 500 may be performed at the terminal device 110 as shown in FIG. 1. For the purpose of discussion, in the following, the method 500 will be described with reference to FIG. 1. It is to be understood that the method 500 may include additional blocks not shown and / or may omit some blocks as shown, and the scope of the present disclosure is not limited in this regard.

[0227] At block 510, the terminal device 110 may receive, from the network device 120, a configuration for a measurement based on a set of RS resources.

[0228] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise at least one of the following: information of a model; information of overhead reduction in a report of the measurement; information of a report quantity for model management; information indicating that the second number of largest measured values is to be reported; information of more than one resource set for the report of the measurement; information indicating that a set of measured values that have a difference from a largest measured value lower than or equal to a first threshold is to be reported; information indicating that a set of measured values larger than or equal to a second threshold is to be reported; timing information associated with the measurement; number of reported RSs that is larger than a first value; number of RS resources in the set of RS resources that is larger than a second value; the second number is larger than a third value; the second number is larger than number of RS resources in the set of RS resources; absence of repetition information for the set of RS resources; or absence of QCL information for a RS resource in the set of RS resources.

[0229] In some embodiments, the timing information may indicate at least one of the following: a third number of time instances; a measurement window; a measurement interval; or a prediction window.

[0230] At block 520, the terminal device 110 may determine, based on the configuration, that a first measurement result is required for model management. In some embodiments, the model management may comprise at least one of model training, model inference, or model monitoring.

[0231] At block 530, the terminal device 110 may report, to the network device 120, the first measurement result indicating a first number of RS resources associated with a set of largest measured values for a set of time instances and a second number of largest measured values in a set of measured values for each time instance in the set of time instances. The first number is unequal to the second number.

[0232] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the first measurement result based on first measurements within a first period of time for a RS resource in the set of RS resources.

[0233] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the first measurement result by ignoring a part of the configuration comprising at least one of the following: QCL information for a RS resource in the set of RS resources; repetition information for the set of RS resources; or time restriction information for channel measurement.

[0234] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the first period of time by: setting a factor related to number of measurements to be 1 without considering time restriction information for channel measurement; setting a factor related to number of receiving beams to be number of receiving beams swept; and setting a factor related to sharing of concurrent measurements at least for overlapping between the first measurements and second measurements unrelated to model management.

[0235] In some embodiments where the set of time instances comprises a time instance and the second number is equal to number of RS resources in the set of RS resources, the first measurement result may comprise: information of a RS resource associated with a largest measured value for the set of RS resources at the time instance, and information of the second number of largest measured values in the set of measured values for the set of RS resources.

[0236] In some embodiments where the second number is equal to a product of number of RS resources in the set of RS resources and number of time instances in the set of time instances, and the set of largest measured values comprises a largest measured value, the first measurement result may comprise: information of a RS resource associated with the largest measured value for the set of RS resources at the set of time instances, and information of the second number of largest measured values in the set of measured values for the set of RS resources at each time instance in the set of time instances.

[0237] In some embodiments where the second number is equal to a product of number of RS resources in the set of RS resources and number of time instances in the set of time instances, the first measurement result may comprise: information of a RS resource associated with a largest measured value for the set of RS resources at each time instance in the set of time instances, and information of the second number of largest measured values in the set of measured values for the set of RS resources at each time instance in the set of time instances.

[0238] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may report the first measurement result by: logging the first measurement result; and reporting a logged set of first measurement results for model training.

[0239] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may log the first measurement result by:logging a largest measured value among measured values obtained within a periodicity. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the periodicity based on number of receiving beams swept and a periodicity of the RS resource. In some embodiments,  the terminal device 110 may determine the periodicity based on the first period of time.

[0240] In some embodiments where the configuration indicates that the second number of largest measured values is to be reported, the terminal device 110 may log the first measurement result by: in accordance with a determination that the second number is the same as number of resources in the second set of resources, logging information of the second number of largest measured values for each time instance; or logging information of a RS resource associated with a largest measured value for each time instance or for the set of RS resources, and the information of the second number of largest measured values for each time instance.

[0241] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may log information of the terminal device 110 comprising at least one of the following: a receiving beamforming gain for the logged first measurement result; condition information of the terminal device 110; or an indication associated with the condition information.
