[0038] It is to be understood that the number of devices and their connections shown in FIG. 1 are only for the purpose of illustration without suggesting any limitation. The communication environment 100 may include any suitable number of devices configured to implementing example embodiments of the present disclosure. Although not shown, it  would be appreciated that one or more additional devices may be located in the cell 102, and one or more additional cells may be deployed in the communication environment 100. It is noted that although illustrated as a network device, the network device 120 may be another device than a network device. Although illustrated as a terminal device, the terminal device 110 may be other device than a terminal device.

[0039] In the following, for the purpose of illustration, some example embodiments are described with the terminal device 110 operating as a UE and the network device 120 operating as a base station. However, in some example embodiments, operations described in connection with a terminal device may be implemented at a network device or other device, and operations described in connection with a network device may be implemented at a terminal device or other device.

[0040] In some example embodiments, if the terminal device 110 is a terminal device and the network device 120 is a network device, a link from the network device 120 to the terminal device 110 is referred to as a downlink (DL) , while a link from the terminal device 110 to the network device 120 is referred to as an uplink (UL) . In DL, the network device 120 is a transmitting (TX) device (or a transmitter) and the terminal device 110 is a receiving (RX) device (or a receiver) . In UL, the terminal device 110 is a TX device (or a transmitter) and the network device 120 is a RX device (or a receiver) .

[0041] The communications in the communication environment 100 may conform to any suitable standards including, but not limited to, Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) , Long Term Evolution (LTE) , LTE-Evolution, LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) , New Radio (NR) , Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) , Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) , GSM EDGE Radio Access Network (GERAN) , Machine Type Communication (MTC) and the like. The embodiments of the present disclosure may be performed according to any generation communication protocols either currently known or to be developed in the future. Examples of the communication protocols include, but not limited to, the first generation (1G) , the second generation (2G) , 2.5G, 2.75G, the third generation (3G) , the fourth generation (4G) , 4.5G, the fifth generation (5G) communication protocols, 5.5G, 5G-Advanced networks, or the sixth generation (6G) networks.

[0042] Reference is made to FIG. 2, which illustrates a signaling flow 200 of scheduling in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purposes of discussion, the signaling flow 200 will be discussed with reference to FIG. 1, for example,  by using the terminal device 110 and the network device 120.

[0043] The terminal device 110 may select (2005) a logical channel based on a LCH restriction.

[0044] The terminal device 110 determines (2010) one or more parameters for the logical channel, based on at least one of: remaining time of data for the logical channel or importance of the data for the logical channel. For example, the importance of the data may be PDU set importance. The one or more parameters may include at least one of: a target transmission priority, a target BSD, a target PBR, or a target set of LCP restrictions. In some embodiments, the remaining time of data for logical channel may include the maximum remaining time of the data for logical channel or remaining time of any data or remaining time of at least one data for the logical channel. In some embodiments, the importance of the data for the logical channel may include the highest importance of data or the higher importance of data or lowest importance of data or the importance of any data or the importance of at least one data for the logical channel.

[0045] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine (2010) the target transmission priority for the logical channel between a first transmission priority and at least one second transmission priority based on at least one of: remaining time of data for the logical channel or importance of the data for the logical channel. The target transmission priority refers to the transmission priority applied to the logical channel or the resource allocation priority applied to the logical channel. For example, the first transmission priority may be a default priority. The target transmission priority may be corresponding to the logical channel priority. Alternatively, the target transmission priority may refer to the logical channel priority used for resource allocation or logical channel prioritization procedure. In this way, the delayed data can be scheduled or multiplexed in a MAC PDU with a higher priority. Further, the delayed data with higher importance may be scheduled or multiplexed in a MAC PDU with higher priority, thereby avoiding the delayed data exceeding the delay budget. As mentioned above, the terms “first transmission priority” and “first priority” are interchangeable, the terms “second transmission priority” and “second priority” are interchangeable, and the terms “target transmission priority” and “target priority” are interchangeable.

[0046] In some embodiments, for the logical channel or logical channel group (LCG) , one or more addition priorities (i.e., one or more second transmission priories) may be configured for the terminal device. The second transmission priority is configured by RRC.  For example, it may be configured in LogicalChannelConfig configuration. Table 1 below shows an example of the configuration of the additional priorities. It is noted that Table 1 is only an example.

[0047] Table 1

[0048] In some embodiments, a mapping or relationship between the remaining time of the data and / or importance of the data and / or the priority of the logical channel may be configured. Alternatively, the mapping or relationship may be specified. In some embodiments, the mapping or relationship may be configured by radio resource control (RRC) signaling from the network device 120. Alternatively, the mapping or relationship may be predefined. In this case, the terminal device may determine the target transmission priority based on the mapping between the remaining time of the data and / or importance of the data and / or the priority of the logical channel. In some embodiments, each or all logical channels may use the same mapping or relationship between the importance of the data (and / or the remaining time of the data) and the priority values. In some further embodiments, each logical channel may have the different second priority, different LCHs may have different mappings / relationships between importance of data and priority value  of logical channel.

[0049] In some embodiments, the at least one second priority may be predefined at the terminal device 110. In some other embodiments, the at least one second priority may be configured by RRC signaling.

[0050] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110may determine the target transmission priority based on the remaining time. For example, if the remaining time of the data for the logical channel is below or equal to a first threshold, or there is delayed data in the logical channel, the terminal device 110 may determine the second transmission priority as the target transmission priority for the logical channel. If the remaining time of the data for the logical channel is above or equal to a first threshold, or there is no delayed data in the logical channel, the terminal device 110 may determine the first transmission priority as the target transmission priority for the logical channel.

[0051] In some embodiments, for each logical channel, the terminal device 110 may determine the target transmission priority based on the remaining time of the data and the importance of the data for this logical channel. For example, if the remaining time of the data for the logical channel is above or equal to a first threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine the first transmission priority as the target transmission priority for the logical channel. In some embodiments, the first transmission priority is the default priority, that is, the terminal device 110 may use the default priority for the logical channel. Alternatively, if the remaining time of the data for the logical channel is below the first threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine the target transmission priority for the logical channel based on the importance of the data. In some other embodiments, if the remaining time for the logical channel is below the first threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine the second transmission priority as the target transmission priority for the logical channel. For example, the terminal device 110 may use the additional priority shown in Table 1 for the logical channel.

[0052] In some embodiments, if the remaining time of the data of the logical channel is below or equal to the first threshold (i.e., the first time threshold) , the terminal device 110 may use the second priority for the logical channel. The terminal device 110 determine the second priority based on the importance of data for the logical channel. If the remaining time of the data is below the first threshold and the data in the logical channel is higher importance data, the terminal device 110 may use first priority value of second priority for the logical channel. If the remaining time of the data is below the first  threshold and the data in the logical channel is lower importance data, the terminal device 110 may use second priority value of second priority for the logical channel.

[0053] For example, as shown in Table 2, if the remaining time of the data of the logical channel 1 (i.e., LCH1) is above the first threshold (i.e., the first time threshold) , the terminal device 110 may use the first priority (i.e., the default priority) for the logical channel 1. In some other embodiments, as shown in Table 2, if the remaining time of the data of the logical channel 1 (i.e., LCH1) is below the first threshold (i.e., the first time threshold) and the data in the logical channel 1 is higher importance data, the terminal device 110 may use one second priority (such as, Priority 1) for the logical channel 1. Alternatively, if the remaining time of the data of the logical channel 1 (i.e., LCH1) is below the first threshold and the data in the logical channel 1 is lower importance data, the terminal device 110 may use another second priority (such as, Priority 2) or the default priority for the logical channel 1. In some embodiments, the network device 120 may obtain the PSI related information by core network device or application.

[0054] Table 2

[0055] In some embodiments, whether the data is high or low importance up to UE implementation. Alternatively, the terminal device 110 may determine whether the data is high or low importance based on the comparation of the importance of the data (e.g, PSI) and an importance threshold. For example, if the importance of the data in the logical channel 1 is less than a first importance threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine that the data is low importance. Alternatively, if the importance of the data in the logical channel 1 is above or equal to a first importance threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine that the data is high importance.

[0056] In some other embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the priority of the logical based on the mapping between the importance and priority value. In some embodiments, if the remaining time of the data of the logical channel is below or equal to the first threshold (i.e., the first time threshold) , the terminal device 110 may use the second priority for the logical channel. The terminal device 110 determine the second priority based on the importance of data for the logical channel. If the remaining time of the data is below the first threshold and the data in the logical channel is falls in the importance (e.g., PSI) level or range, the terminal device 110 may use priority value of second priority corresponding to this PSI level or range for the logical channel. For example, as shown in Table 3, if the remaining time of the data of LCH x is less than the first time threshold and the PSI of the data for this LCH x falls in the PSI level or range x, the terminal device 110 may determine to use the priority x for this LCH x.

[0057] Table 3

[0058] In some embodiments, the data belonging to a same multi-modal service may use a delay awareness logical channel priority (i.e., additional / second transmission priority) simultaneously. For example, if the at least one second transmission priority is determined for the logical channel, the terminal device 110 may determine that the at least one second transmission priority to be used for another logical channel with data having the same multi-modal identity as that of the data on the logical channel. In some embodiments, if the terminal device 110 determines to use the additional priority for the LCH based on remaining time and / or PSI of the data / PDUs / SDUs, the LCH with the data having the same multi-modal ID may also use the additional priority or second priority configured for corresponding LCH.

[0059] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine (2010) a target BSD for the logical channel between a first BSD and a second BSD based on at least one of: the remaining time of data for the logical channel, the importance of the data for the  logical channel, the data volume, or delay critical data volume. The target BSD refers to the BSD that is applied to the logical channel. The target BSD used for resource allocation for the logical channel or logical channel prioritization procedure. In some embodiments, one or more additional BSDs (i.e., second BSD) may be configure for the terminal device 110. In some embodiments, the one or more BSDs may be configured per logical channel or per LCG.

[0060] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine (2010) a target PBR for the logical channel between a first PBR and a second PBR based on at least one of:the remaining time of data for the logical channel, the importance of the data for the logical channel, the data volume, or delay critical data volume. The target PBR refers to the PBR that is applied to the logical channel. The target PBR used for resource allocation for the logical channel or logical channel prioritization procedure. In some embodiments, one or more additional PBRs (i.e., second PBR) may be configure for the terminal device 110. In some embodiments, the one or more additional PBRs may be configured per logical channel or per LCG. In this way, the data with small remaining time shall be scheduled or multiplexed in a MAC PDU with a higher possibility / priority. Further, the data with small remaining time in a LCH shall be scheduled as much as possible, thereby avoiding the delayed data exceeding the delay budget.

[0061] In some embodiments, the second PBR and / or BSD may be configured by RRC. Table 4 shows an example of configuration of the second BSD and / or the second PBR.

[0062] Table 4

[0063] In some embodiments, if the remaining time of the data for the logical channel  is below a second threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine the second BSD as the target BSD. Alternatively, if there is delay critical data on the logical channel, the terminal device 110 may determine the second BSD as the target BSD. For example, a medium access control (MAC) entity at the terminal device 110 may use the second BSD for resource allocation procedure or logical channel prioritization procedure. Alternatively, or in addition, if the remaining time of the data for the logical channel is below the second threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine the second PBR as the target PBR. Alternatively, if there is delay critical data on the logical channel, the terminal device 110 may determine the second PBR as the target PBR. For example, a MAC entity at the terminal device 110 may use the second PBR for resource allocation procedure or logical channel prioritization procedure. It is noted that the second threshold may be any suitable value, it may be configured by RRC. The second threshold may same as first threshold.

[0064] In some embodiments, for logical channel prioritization procedure, the terminal device may maintain variable Bj for each logical channel j. The MAC entity of terminal device shall initialize Bj of the logical channel to zero when the logical channel is established. For each logical channel j, the MAC entity of terminal device may increment Bj by the product target PBR × T before every instance of the LCP procedure, where T is the time elapsed since Bj was last incremented; Ifthe value of Bj is greater than the bucket size (i.e. PBR × BSD or target PBR × BSD or PBR × target BSD or target PBR × target BSD ) , the terminal device may set Bj to the bucket size.

[0065] In another embodiments, the for logical channel prioritization procedure, the terminal device may maintain variable Bj for each logical channel j. For each logical channel j, if there is the data with remaining time below a threshold, the MAC entity of terminal device may increment Bj by the product second PBR × T before every instance of the LCP procedure, where T is the time elapsed since Bj was last incremented; If the value of Bj is greater than the bucket size (i.e., second PBR × BSD or PBR × second BSD or second PBR × second BSD) , the terminal device may set Bj to the bucket size. If there is no data with remaining time below a threshold or remaining time for the logical channel is above the threshold, the MAC entity of terminal device may increment Bj by the product PBR × T before every instance of the LCP procedure, where T is the time elapsed since Bj was last incremented; ifthe value of Bi is greater than the bucket size (i.e. PBR × BSD) , set Bj to the bucket size. Table 5 below shows an example procedure of determining the  second BSD and / or second PBR.

[0066] Table 5

[0067] In some other embodiments, if the remaining time for the logical channel is above the second threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine the first BSD as the target BSD. Alternatively, if there is no delay critical data on the logical channel, the terminal device 110 may determine the first BSD as the target BSD. Alternatively, or in addition, if the remaining time for the logical channel is above the second threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine the first PBR as the target PBR. Alternatively, if there is no delay critical data on the logical channel, the terminal device 110 may determine the first PBR as the target PBR. For example, the MAC entity at the terminal device 110 may use the first BSD or PBR.

[0068] In some embodiments, if the data volume or delayed data volume or delay critical data volume is above a first volume threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine the second BSD as the target BSD and / or the second PBR as the target PBR. In some embodiments, if a PSI index of the data on the logical channel is less than an index threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine the second BSD as the target BSD and / or the second PBR as the target PBR. In some embodiments, if the importance (e.g., PSI) of the data for the logical channel is above a threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine the second BSD as the target BSD and / or the second PBR as the target PBR.

[0069] In some embodiments, one or more scale factors may be used. For example, the second PBR is the first PBR multiplying a scale factor. Alternatively, or in addition, the  second BSD is the first BSD multiplying the scale factor. In some embodiments, a second Bj is a first Bj multiplying the scale factor. For example, for Bj which is maintained for each logical channel j, the MAC entity at the terminal device 110 may initialize Bj of the logical channel to zero when the logical channel is established. For each logical channel j, the MAC entity may increment Bj by the product scale factor × PBR × T before every instance of the LCP procedure, where T is the time elapsed since Bj was last incremented. Alternatively, the MAC entity may set Bj (i.e., the second Bj) to the bucket size × scale factor, ifthe value of Bj is greater than the bucket size (i.e. PBR × BSD) × scale factor.

[0070] In some embodiments, the one or more scale factors may be configured by the network device 120. For example, the one or more scale factors may be configured per logical channel or LCG.

[0071] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the scale factor based on a mapping between the remaining data and scale factor values or between the delay critical data and the scale factor values. In some embodiments, for each logical channel, the scale factor may be determined by mapping between the remaining time and scale factor value or between the delay critical data and scale factor value. The mapping between the remaining time of data and scale factor value or between the delay critical data and scale factor value may be predefined or configured by the network device 120.

[0072] In some embodiments, if there is delay critical data or the remaining time of the data on the logical channel is below a third threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine the scale factor. Alternatively, if there is no delay critical or the remaining time of the data is above the third threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine not to use the scale factor or set the scale factor to a predetermined value (e.g., set to 1) . For example, for a logical channel, if there is delay critical data or remaining time of the data in the logical channel below the third threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine to use / multiply the scale factor for Bj or BSD or PBR. Otherwise, ifthere is no delay critical or remaining time of the data above the third threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine not to use the scale factor or set scale factor to 1 for Bj or BSD or PBR. In some further embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the scale factor based on the mapping of the (delay critical) data volume and scale factor. It is noted that the third threshold may be any suitable value, it may be configured by RRC. The third threshold may same as first or second threshold.

[0073] In some other embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the scale factor based on a mapping between data volume of the data or delay critical data volume and the scale factor values. For example, for each logical channel, the scale factor may be determined by mapping between the data volume / delay critical data volume and scale factor value. The mapping between the data volume / delay critical data volume and scale factor value may be pre-defined or configured by RRC signaling. In some example embodiments, for a LCH, if the delay critical data volume is above a third volume threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine to use / multiply the scale factor for Bj or BSD or PBR. Otherwise, if the delay data volume is below the third volume threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine not to use the scale factor or set scale factor to 1 for Bj or BSD or PBR. It is noted that the third volume threshold may be any suitable value. As mentioned above, the terms “delay critical” and “delayed” used herein can be interchangeable.

[0074] In some embodiments, ifthere is delay critical data or remaining time of the data in the logical channel is below a time threshold or delay data volume is above a fourth volume threshold, the terminal device 110 may set the PBR to infinity.

[0075] Table 6 below shows an example procedure of logical channel prioritization procedure.

[0076] Table 6

[0077] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine (2010) the target set of LCP restrictions for the logical channel between a first set of LCP restrictions and a second set of LCP restrictions based on at least one of: remaining time of data for the logical channel or importance of the data for the logical channel. The target set of LCP restrictions may refer to the set of LCP restrictions that is applied to the logical channel.  Alternatively, or in addition, the target set of LCP restrictions may refer to the set of LCP restrictions that is applied to the logical channel prioritization or logical channel selection procedure. In this way, the LCP restriction may be relaxed for the LCH with the remaining time of data below the first threshold. The data with small remaining time may be scheduled or multiplexed in a MAC PDU with a higher possibility, thereby avoiding the delayed data exceeding the delay budget.

[0078] In some embodiments, the network device 120 may configure an addition set of LCP restrictions (i.e., the second set of LCP restrictions) to the terminal device 110. For example, the second set of LCP restrictions may be configured via RRC signaling. The second set of LCP restrictions may be configured per logical channel or per LCG or per UE.

[0079] In some embodiments, the second set of LCP restriction including at least one of the following: allowedServingCells2, allowedSCS-List2, maxPUSCH-Duration2, configuredGrantType 1 Allowed2, allowedCG-List2, allowedPHY-PriorityIndex2, allowedHARQ-mode2.

[0080] In some embodiments, for allowedServingCell2, if present, UL MAC SDUs from this logical channel can only be mapped to the serving cells indicated in this list; Otherwise, UL MAC SDUs from this logical channel can be mapped to any configured serving cell of this cell group. For allowedSCS-List 2, if present, UL MAC SDUs from this logical channel can only be mapped to the indicated numerology; Otherwise, UL MAC SDUs from this logical channel can be mapped to any configured numerology. For maxPUSCH-Duration2, if present, UL MAC SDUs from this logical channel can only be transmitted using uplink grants that result in a PUSCH duration shorter than or equal to the duration indicated by this field; Otherwise, UL MAC SDUs from this logical channel can be transmitted using an uplink grant resulting in any PUSCH duration. For configuredGrantTypelAllowed2, if present, or if the capability lcp-Restriction is not supported, UL MAC SDUs from this logical channel can be transmitted on a configured grant type 1; Otherwise, UL MAC SDUs from this logical channel cannot be transmitted on a configured grant type 1. For allowedHARQ-mode2, it indicates the allowed Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) mode of a HARQ process mapped to this logical channel. Ifthe parameter is absent, there is no restriction for HARQ mode for the mapping. This field applies to signaling radio bearer (SRB) I, SRB2, SRB4 and DRBs. For allowedPHY-PriorityIndex2, this restriction applies only when the UL grant is a dynamic  grant. If the field is present and the dynamic grant has a PHY-priority index, UL MAC SDUs from this logical channel can only be mapped to the dynamic grants indicating PHY-priority index equal to the values configured by this field. If the field is present and the dynamic grant does not have a PHY-priority index, UL MAC SDUs from this logical channel can only be mapped to this dynamic grant if the value of the field is p0. If the field is not present, UL MAC SDUs from this logical channel can be mapped to any dynamic grants.

[0081] Table 7 below shows an example of additional restriction parameter.

[0082] Table 7

[0083] In some embodiments, the network device 120 may transmit an indication regarding whether the second set of LCP restrictions is used. For example, for a logical channel or LCG, the RRC signaling may indicate whether the second set of LCP restrictions can be used. For example, a new field may be used to indicate whether the second set of LCP restrictions is enabled / activated or disabled / deactivated for the logical channel. The new field may be included in an information element (IE), such as,  LogicalChannelConfig or RLC-bearerConfig or cellgroupConfig or RRCReconfig IE. The indication may be per LCH or per LCG. Table 8 below shows an example of the indication.

[0084] Table 8

[0085] In some embodiments, if the indication indicating that the second set of LCP restrictions is used or if the second set of LCP restrictions is configured, the terminal device 110 may determine whether the remaining time of the data is below a fourth threshold or there is delay critical data on the logical channel. In some embodiments, if the remaining time of the data is below a fourth threshold or there is delay critical data on the logical channel, the terminal device 110 may apply the second set of LCP restrictions (i.e., in the case, the second set of LCP restrictions is determined as the target set of LCP restrictions) for the logical channel during a logical channel selection for new transmission. If the remaining time of the data is above a fourth threshold or there is no delay critical data on the logical channel, the terminal device 110 may apply the first set of LCP restrictions (i.e., in the case, the first set of LCP restrictions is determined as the target set of LCP restrictions) for the logical channel during a logical channel selection for new transmission. For example, for the logical channel, if the indication indicates to enable / active the second set of LCP restrictions or if the second set of LCP restriction is configured, the terminal device 110 may determines whether there is delay critical data in logical channel or whether there is data with remaining time below the fourth threshold for logical channel. In this case, if the remaining time of data in logical channel below the fourth threshold or there is delay critical data in LCH, the terminal device 110 may use the second set of LCH restrictions for this LCH when the terminal device 110 performs a logical channel selection for new transmission. Table 9 below shows an example of the selection of logical channel.

[0086] The terminal device 110 determines (2020) allocation of resources to the logical channel based on at least one of: the target transmission priority, the target BSD, or the target PBR. In some embodiments, for the LCH prioritization procedure, after determine the target priority of LCH, the terminal device 110 allocation of resources for logical channel. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may allocate resources to a plurality of logical channels in a decreasing priority (for example, priority may refer to target priority) order of the plurality of logical channels. For example, logical channels for the UL grant with Bj > 0 may be allocated with resources in a decreasing priority (for example, priority may refer to target priority) order, decrement Bj by the total size of MAC SDUs served to logical channel j. If there are still any resources remain, logical channel may be served in a strict decreasing priority order. Example embodiments which are later described with reference to FIG. 3 can also be applied to determine the allocation of resources.

[0087] The terminal device 110 transmits (2030) , to the network device 120, the data of the logical channel based on at least one of: the target transmission priority, the target BSD, or the target PBR. In other words, the network device 120 receives the data of the logical channel from the terminal device 110. In this way, it can avoid the delayed data exceeding the delay budget.

[0088] Resource Allocation

[0089] Reference is made to FIG. 3, which illustrates a signaling flow 300 of scheduling in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purposes of discussion, the signaling flow 300 will be discussed with reference to FIG. 1, for example, by using the terminal device 110 and the network device 120.

[0090] The terminal device 110 determines (3010) that a first logical channel and a second logical channel have an equal transmission priority. The terminal device 110 allocates (3020) resources to the first logical channel and the second logical channel based on at least one of: remaining time of data on the first and second logical channels, importance of the data on the first and second logical channels, a transmission priority of the first logical channel and a transmission priority of the second logical channel, or indexes of the first and second logical channels, or an equality rule. In this way, the UE behavior for resource allocation is clearly. Further, data with smaller remaining time or higher importance may be scheduled or multiplexed in a MAC PDU with a higher priority, thereby avoiding the delayed data exceeding the delay budget.

[0091] In some embodiments, if there is delayed data on the first logical channel, allocation of resources to the first logical channel is prioritized over allocation of resources to the second logical channel. For example, a priority of allocating resources to the first logical channel with delayed critical data is higher than that of allocating resources to the second logical channel without delayed critical data.

[0092] In some embodiments, resources may be allocated to the first and second logical channels in an increasing order of remaining time (such as, minimum remaining time) of data on the first and second logical channels. In other words, allocating resources for LCH with data have lower remaining time can be prioritized. For example, if remaining time of data on the first logical channel is less than the remaining time of the data on the second logical channel, allocation of resources to the first logical channel may be prioritized over allocation of resources to the second logical channel.

[0093] In some other embodiments, resources are allocated to the first and second logical channels in a decreasing order of importance of the data (for example, the highest importance of data) on the first and second logical channels. If the importance of data on the first logical channel is above the importance of data on second logical, allocation of resources to the first logical channel may be prioritized over allocation of resources to the second logical channel. For example, resources are allocated to the first and second logical channels in an increasing order of PSI index of the data on the first and second logical channels. By way of example, if a PSI index of the first logical channel is smaller than a PSI index of the second logical channel, allocation of resources to the first logical channel may be prioritized over allocation of resources to the second logical channel.

[0094] In some further embodiments, resources are allocated to the first and second logical channels based on the transmission priority of the first logical channel and the transmission priority of the second channel. In some embodiments, allocated resources for LCH with default priority (i.e., first priority) value as target transmission priority is prioritized. For example, if the first logical channel uses a default priority (e.g., first priority) and the second logical channel uses an additional priority (e.g., second priority) and the default priority of the first logical channel is same as the additional priority of the second logical channel, allocation of resources to the first logical channel may be prioritized over allocation of resources to the second logical channel.

[0095] In some embodiments, resources are allocated to the first and second logical channels in a decreasing order of first transmission priorities for logical channels. As an example, if an additional transmission priority of the first logical channel is same as an additional transmission priority of the second logical channel and a first transmission priority of the first logical channel is higher than a first transmission priority of the second channel, allocation of resources to the first logical channel may be prioritized over allocation of resources to the second logical channel.

[0096] In some other embodiments, resources are allocated to the first and second logical channels in a decreasing order of logical channel indexes. For example, if an index of the first logical channel is larger than an index of the second logical channel, allocation of resources to the first logical channel may be prioritized over allocation of resources to the second logical channel. Alternatively, resources are allocated to the first and second logical channels in an increasing order of logical channel indexes. For example, if an index of the first logical channel is larger than an index of the second logical channel, allocation of resources to the second logical channel may be prioritized over allocation of resources to the first logical channel.

[0097] In some other embodiments, resources are allocated to the first and second logical channels equally. In other words, logical channels with equal priority may be served equally. For example, if the transmission priority (regardless of whether it is a first transmission priority or an additional transmission priority ) of the first logical channel and the transmission priority (regardless of whether it is a first transmission priority or an additional transmission priority ) of the second logical channel are the same, allocation of resources to the second logical channel and allocation of resources to the first logical channel may be performed in an equal way.

[0098] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may allocate resources to a plurality of logical channels in a decreasing priority order of the plurality of logical channels. For example, logical channels for the UL grant with Bj > 0 may be allocated with resources in a decreasing priority order, decrement Bj by the total size of MAC SDUs served to logical channel j. If there are still any resources remain, logical channel may be served in a strict decreasing priority order. Table 10 shows an example of allocation of resources.

[0099] Table 10

[0100] In some embodiments, if the first logical channel does not have delayed data, the second logical channel apply its additional transmission priority. Alternatively, if the first logical channel has the delayed data, the second logical channel apply the first transmission priority. For example, delay critical data in LCH A is not allowed to use it delay awareness priority if LCH B itself also has delay critical data. In other words, if the  LCH B (i.e., the first logical channel) not have delay critical data, the LCH A (i.e., the second logical channel) can use it delay awareness priority. Alternatively, if the LCH B have delay critical data, the LCH A use the first transmission priority. In some embodiments, delay critical data in LCH A is allowed to use it delay awareness priority if LCH B itself also has delay critical data, and the LCH B is served first when allocation of resources, then LCH A is served.

[0101] The terminal device 110 may transmit (3030) , to the network device 120, the data of the first logical channel and / or second logical channel. In other words, the network device 120 receives the data of the first logical channel and / or second logical channel.

[0102] It is noted that embodiments described with reference to FIG. 2 and FIG. 3 can be combined in any suitable manner. For example, one or more embodiments of FIG. 2 can be combined with one or more embodiments of FIG. 3. Alternatively, embodiments of FIG. 2 and embodiments of FIG. 3 can be implemented separately.

[0123] At block 510, the network device determines that a first logical channel and a second logical channel have an equal transmission priority.

[0124] At block 520, the network device allocates resources to the first logical channel and the second logical channel based on at least one of: remaining time of data on the first and second logical channels, importances of the data on the first and second logical channels, a transmission priority of the first logical channel and a transmission priority of the second logical channel, indexes of the first and second logical channels, or an equality rule.
