[0002] Currently, it is known that cattle in the Piura highlands suffer from a parasitic disease called dermatobiasis or tupe, caused by the larvae of the fly Dermatobia hominis, which develop in the animals' skin, perforating it. Dermatobia hominis does not lay its eggs directly on the cattle's skin, but rather uses various dipterans (mosquitoes and flies) to transport the eggs attached to them. The larvae are released upon contact with the skin when these dipterans (phoretic vectors) land on the animals to feed.

[0012] As a solution to the aforementioned problems, the present invention was developed: an insect-trapping belt for the control of dermatobiasis in cattle. It comprises a main belt (1), made of textile material, of suitable width and sufficient length to encircle the thorax of an adult bovine. Two Velcro fasteners (2), located at both ends of the main belt (1), allow it to be self-adjusting to the size of any adult bovine. A wider area (3), made of the same material as the belt, is located in front of the main belt (1) and is secured to the animal's back with a wire strap (4) located internally in the front seam. Four corner pieces (5), equidistant from each other, are located only on the left side of the wider area of the belt (3). These corner pieces (5) hold a dark-colored card (6), allowing for its easy replacement.The dark-colored card (6) is interchangeable, sized appropriately for the wider area (3), and will fit securely with the four corner pieces (5). Each dark-colored card (6) will contain an insect-repellent substance (7) on its exposed surface.

The belt's placement (1) is strategic because it does not undergo significant length variation, as it rests over the ribs, which do not contract during the animal's respiration. It is suggested that the invention be used on adult animals, as they are the most susceptible to infestation by dipteran vectors of the larvae of the human fly Dermatobia hominis.A wider area (3) of the same material as the belt is located in front of the main belt (1), at the front end of which there is an internal wire strip (4) to conform to the animal's back. An insect-capturing belt for the control of dermatobiasis in cattle characterized in that it comprises a main belt (1) having at both ends Velcro or hook and loop fasteners (2) to make it self-adjusting to the size of any adult bovine; a wide area (3) of the belt (1); an (internal) wire tape (4); about four corner pieces (5); a dark-colored card (6) and an insect-adhering substance (7).
2. The insect-capturing belt for the control of dermatobiasis in cattle according to claim 1, characterized in that the material of the main belt (1) is made of textile material.

The insect-capturing belt for the control of dermatobiasis in cattle according to claim 1, characterized in that the main belt (1) has the widest area (3) of the same material, located at the front, to give greater stability to the belt and serve as a resting surface for the dark-colored card (6).
4. The insect-capturing belt for the control of dermatobiasis in cattle according to claim 1, characterized in that the wire strip (4) is located in the front part of the greater width (3) of the main inner belt (1), which will mold to the anatomical surface of the animal's back.
5. The insect-capturing belt for the control of dermatobiasis in cattle according to claim 1, characterized in that the four corner pieces (5) are located equidistantly, to hold the dark-colored card (6); and are located in the wider area, only on the left side.

An insect-capturing belt for the control of dermatobiasis in cattle according to claim 1, characterized in that the corner pieces (5) will perfectly hold the interchangeable dark-colored card (6), of the appropriate size for the wider area (3).
