AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

In asymmetric downlink uplink transmission reception point (TRP) scenarios, user equipment (UE) faces challenges in applying proper timing advance (TA) for uplink transmissions due to differing propagation delays and lack of downlink signals, leading to issues with uplink time alignment and problematic TA applications for transmission schemes like PUCCH/PUSCH.

Method used

Implement methods for uplink time alignment by configuring multiple timing advance groups (TAGs) and additional TA offsets, along with control signaling to manage CORESETs, and performing random access procedures for TA measurement, enabling UE to transmit based on received TA commands and offsets.

Benefits of technology

Ensures accurate uplink time alignment in asymmetric TRP scenarios, maintaining proper TA for uplink signals even when time alignment timers expire, and supporting various transmission schemes like SFN, SDM, and TDM.

Description

METHOD OF MAINTENANCE OF UPLINK TIME ALIGNMENT FOR ASYMMETRIC DOWNLINK UPLINK TRPTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present disclosure relates generally to wireless communication, and more particularly, to maintenance ofuplink time alignment for asymmetric downlink uplink transmission reception point (TRP) .BACKGROUND

[0002] The Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) specifies a radio interface referred to as fifth generation (5G) new radio (NR) (5G NR) . An architecture for a 5G NR wireless communication system includes a 5G core (5GC) network, a 5G radio access network (5G-RAN) , a user equipment (5G UE) , etc. The 5G NR architecture seeks to provide increased data rates, decreased latency, and / or increased capacity compared to prior generation cellular communication systems.

[0003] Wireless communication systems, in general, provide various telecommunication services (e.g., telephony, video, data, messaging, etc. ) based on multiple-access technologies, such as orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) technologies, that support communication with multiple UEs. Improvements in mobile broadband continue the progression of such wireless communication technologies. For example, a network entity may communicate with a UE based on asymmetric uplink (UL)  / downlink (DL) TRP operation where the network entity may transmit a downlink signal to the UE via a first TRP and receive an uplink signal from the UE at a second TRP. However, in asymmetric UL / DL TRP operation, the UE may not apply a proper timing advance (TA) for an uplink transmission to the second TRP.

[0004] BRIEF SUMMARY

[0005] The following presents a simplified summary of one or more aspects in order to provide a basic understanding of such aspects. This summary is not an extensive overview of all contemplated aspects. This summary neither identifies key or critical elements of all aspects nor delineates the scope of any or all aspects. Its sole purpose is to present some concepts of one or more aspects in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later.

[0006] A network entity, such as a base station or a unit of a base station, may communicate with a user equipment (UE) , where the UE is configured to perform maintenance ofuplink time alignment for asymmetric uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) communication with multiple transmission reception points (TRPs) . The network entity may communicate with the UE based on the asymmetric uplink (UL)  / downlink (DL) TRP operation. In such instances, the network entity may transmit the downlink signal from a first TRP, and receive the uplink signal at a second TRP or both of the first and second TRPs. In some instances, the UL propagation delay between the UE and the first TRP and that between the UE and the second TRP may be different. More specifically, in instances where a downlink signal is not present or available for the UE to identify the reference timing, and the UE does not have information on the target received TRP (s) . In that regard, the UE cannot apply a correct timing advance (TA) for an uplink transmission, which leads to issues with maintaining the uplink time alignment.

[0007] In some instances, the application of TA for signals that correspond to transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states may be problematic for transmission schemes for physical uplink control channel (PUCCH)  / physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) . For example, in spatial division multiplex (SDM) scheme, the UE transmits different layers on the same resource elements based on different TCI states. In single frequency network (SFN) scheme, the UE transmits the same signal in the same layer based on different TCI states on the same resource elements. In time division multiplexing (TDM) scheme, the UE transmits different transmission occasions of the same transport block by different TCI states.

[0008] Aspects of the present disclosure address the above-noted and other deficiencies by implementing methods for uplink time alignment for asymmetric downlink and uplink TRP scenarios, such as TA maintenance for uplink signal toward different TRPs, uplink signal transmission in instances where a time alignment timer expires, and / or transmission for uplink channels with multiple indicated TCI states. The network entity transmits control signaling configuring all the control resource sets (CORESETs) for a serving cell within a same CORESET pool, and at least one of multiple timing advance groups (TAGs) or additional TA offset, and optionally configuring one of the schemes for PUSCH and / or PUCCH (e.g., SFN, SDM, or TDM scheme) . In some aspects, the network entity configures the CORESETs for a serving cell within a same CORESET pool based on at least one of configuring all the  CORESETs without CORESET pool index, configuring all the CORESETs with the same value of CORESET pool index, or configuring a first subset of CORESETs without CORESET pool index and the remaining CORESETs for the serving cell with CORESET pool index as 0. The network entity and UE perform a random access procedure for TA measurement for at least one of the configured TAGs or the additional TA offset measurement. The network entity transmits a control signaling to indicate the TA for at least one of the configured TAGs or the additional TA offset. The UE transmits the PUSCH or PUCCH based on the status of the time alignment timer and one or multiple TAs according to the received TA command (TAC) for at least one of the configured TAGs and / or the received additional TA offset indication.

[0009] According to some aspects, the UE receives, from a network entity, control signaling configuring multiple CORESETs within a CORESET pool and at least one of:multiple TAGs, an additional TA offset, or a transmission scheme for an uplink transmission. The UE obtains one or more TAs for at least one of the multiple TAGs or the additional TA offset. The UE transmits, to the network entity, the uplink transmission based on the one or more TAs.

[0010] According to some aspects, the network entity transmits, to a UE, control signaling configuring multiple CORESETs within a CORESET pool and at least one of: multiple TAGs, an additional TA offset, or a transmission scheme for an uplink transmission. The network entity obtains one or more TAs for at least one of the multiple TAGs or the additional TA offset. The network entity receives, from the UE, the uplink transmission based on the one or more TAs.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0026] FIG. 1 illustrates a diagram 100 of a wireless communications system associated with a plurality of cells 190. The wireless communications system includes user equipments (UEs) 102 and base stations / network entities 104. Some base stations may include an aggregated base station architecture and other base stations may include a disaggregated base station architecture. The aggregated base station architecture utilizes a radio protocol stack that is physically or logically integrated within a single  radio access network (RAN) node. A disaggregated base station architecture utilizes a protocol stack that is physically or logically distributed among two or more units (e.g., radio unit (RU) 106, distributed unit (DU) 108, central unit (CU) 110) . For example, a CU 110 is implemented within a RAN node, and one or more DUs 108 may be co-located with the CU 110, or alternatively, may be geographically or virtually distributed throughout one or multiple other RAN nodes. The DUs 108 may be implemented to communicate with one or more RUs 106. Any of the RU 106, the DU 108 and the CU 110 can be implemented as virtual units, such as a virtual radio unit (VRU) , a virtual distributed unit (VDU) , or a virtual central unit (VCU) . The base station / network entity 104 (e.g., an aggregated base station or disaggregated units of the base station, such as the RU 106 or the DU 108) , may be referred to as a transmission reception point (TRP) .

[0027] Operations of the base station 104 and / or network designs may be based on aggregation characteristics of base station functionality. For example, disaggregated base station architectures are utilized in an integrated access backhaul (IAB) network, an open-radio access network (O-RAN) network, or a virtualized radio access network (vRAN) , which may also be referred to a cloud radio access network (C-RAN) . Disaggregation may include distributing functionality across the two or more units at various physical locations, as well as distributing functionality for at least one unit virtually, which can enable flexibility in network designs. The various units of the disaggregated base station architecture, or the disaggregated RAN architecture, can be configured for wired or wireless communication with at least one other unit. For example, the base stations 104d, 104e and / or the RUs 106a, 106b, 106c, 106d may communicate with the UEs 102a, 102b, 102c, 102d, and / or 102s via one or more radio frequency (RF) access links based on a Uu interface. In examples, multiple RUs 106 and / or base stations 104 may simultaneously serve the UEs 102, such as by intra-cell and / or inter-cell access links between the UEs 102 and the RUs 106 / base stations 104.

[0028] The RU 106, the DU 108, and the CU 110 may include (or may be coupled to) one or more interfaces configured to transmit or receive information / signals via a wired or wireless transmission medium. For example, a wired interface can be configured to transmit or receive the information / signals over a wired transmission medium, such as via the fronthaul link 160 between the RU 106d and the baseband unit (BBU) 112 of the base station 104d associated with the cell 190d. The BBU 112  includes a DU 108 and a CU 110, which may also have a wired interface (e.g., midhaul link) configured between the DU 108 and the CU 110 to transmit or receive the information / signals between the DU 108 and the CU 110. In further examples, a wireless interface, which may include a receiver, a transmitter, or a transceiver, such as an RF transceiver, configured to transmit and / or receive the information / signals via the wireless transmission medium, such as for information communicated between the RU 106a of the cell 190a and the base station 104e of the cell 190e via cross-cell communication beams 136-138 of the RU 106a and the base station 104e.

[0029] The RUs 106 may be configured to implement lower layer functionality. For example, the RU 106 is controlled by the DU 108 and may correspond to a logical node that hosts RF processing fimctions, or lower layer PHY functionality, such as execution of fast Fourier transform (FFT) , inverse FFT (iFFT) , digital beamforming, physical random access channel (PRACH) extraction and filtering, etc. The functionality of the RU 106 may be based on the functional split, such as a functional split of lower layers.

[0030] The RUs 106 may transmit or receive over-the-air (OTA) communication with one or more UEs 102. For example, the RU 106b of the cell 190b communicates with the UE 102b of the cell 190b via a first set of communication beams 132 of the RU 106b and a second set of communication beams 134b of the UE 102b, which may correspond to inter-cell communication beams or, in some examples, cross-cell communication beams. For instance, the UE 102b of the cell 190b may communicate with the RU 106a of the cell 190a via a third set of communication beams 134a of the UE 102b and a fourth set of communication beams 136 of the RU 106a. DUs 108 can control both real-time and non-real-time features of control plane and user plane communications of the RUs 106.

[0031] Any combination of the RU 106, the DU 108, and the CU 110, or reference thereto individually, may correspond to a base station 104. Thus, the base station 104 may include at least one of the RU 106, the DU 108, or the CU 110. The base stations 104 provide the UEs 102 with access to a core network. The base stations 104 may relay communications between the UEs 102 and the core network (not shown) . The base stations 104 may be associated with macrocells for higher-power cellular base stations and / or small cells for lower-power cellular base stations. For example, the cell 190e may correspond to a macrocell, whereas the cells 190a-190d may correspond to small cells. Small cells include femtocells, picocells, microcells, etc. A network that  includes at least one macrocell and at least one small cell may be referred to as a “heterogeneous network. ”

[0032] Transmissions from a UE 102 to a base station 104 / RU 106 are referred to as uplink (UL) transmissions, whereas transmissions from the base station 104 / RU 106 to the UE 102 are referred to as downlink (DL) transmissions. Uplink transmissions may also be referred to as reverse link transmissions and downlink transmissions may also be referred to as forward link transmissions. For example, the RU 106d utilizes antennas of the base station 104d of cell 190d to transmit a downlink / forward link communication to the UE 102d or receive an uplink / reverse link communication from the UE 102d based on the Uu interface associated with the access link between the UE 102d and the base station 104d / RU 106d.

[0033] Communication links between the UEs 102 and the base stations 104 / RUs 106 may be based on multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) antenna technology, including spatial multiplexing, beamforming, and / or transmit diversity. The communication links may be associated with one or more carriers. The UEs 102 and the base stations 104 / RUs 106 may utilize a spectrum bandwidth of YMHz (e.g., 5, 10, 15, 20, 100, 400, 800, 1600, 2000, etc. MHz) per carrier allocated in a carrier aggregation of up to a total of Yx MHz, where x component carriers (CCs) are used for communication in each of the uplink and downlink directions. The carriers may or may not be adjacent to each other along a frequency spectrum. In examples, uplink and downlink carriers may be allocated in an asymmetric manner, with more or fewer carriers allocated to either the uplink or the downlink. A primary component carrier and one or more secondary component carriers may be included in the component carriers. The primary component carrier may be associated with a primary cell (PCell) and a secondary component carrier may be associated with a secondary cell (SCell) . The UEs 102 and the base stations 104 / RUs 106 may each include a plurality of antennas. The plurality of antennas may correspond to antenna elements, antenna panels, and / or antenna arrays that may facilitate beamforming operations. For example, the RU 106b transmits a downlink beamformed signal based on a first set of communication beams 132 to the UE 102b in one or more transmit directions of the RU 106b. The UE 102b may receive the downlink beamformed signal based on a second set of communication beams 134b from the RU 106b in one or more receive directions of the UE 102b. In a further example, the UE 102b may also transmit an uplink beamformed signal (e.g., sounding reference signal (SRS) ) to the RU 106b  based on the second set of communication beams 134b in one or more transmit directions of the UE 102b. The RU 106b may receive the uplink beamformed signal from the UE 102b in one or more receive directions of the RU 106b. The UE 102b may perform beam training to determine the best receive and transmit directions for the beamformed signals. The transmit and receive directions for the UEs 102 and the base stations 104 / RUs 106 may or may not be the same.

[0034] In further examples, beamformed signals may be communicated between a first base station / RU 106a and a second base station 104e. For instance, the base station 104e of the cell 190e may transmit a beamformed signal to the RU 106a based on the communication beams 138 in one or more transmit directions of the base station 104e. The RU 106a may receive the beamformed signal from the base station 104e of the cell 190e based on the RU communication beams 136 in one or more receive directions of the RU 106a. In further examples, the base station 104e transmits a downlink beamformed signal to the UE 102e based on the communication beams 138 in one or more transmit directions of the base station 104e. The UE 102e receives the downlink beamformed signal from the base station 104e based on UE communication beams 130 in one or more receive directions of the UE 102e. The UE 102e may also transmit an uplink beamformed signal to the base station 104e based on the UE communication beams 130 in one or more transmit directions of the UE 102e, such that the base station 104e may receive the uplink beamformed signal from the UE 102e in one or more receive directions of the base station 104e.

[0035] The base station 104 may include and / or be referred to as a network entity. That is, “network entity” may refer to the base station 104 or at least one unit of the base station 104, such as the RU 106, the DU 108, and / or the CU 110. The base station 104 may also include and / or be referred to as a next generation evolved Node B (ng-eNB) , a next generation NB (gNB) , an evolved NB (eNB) , an access point, a base transceiver station, a radio base station, a radio transceiver, a transceiver function, a basic service set (BSS) , an extended service set (ESS) , a TRP, a network node, network equipment, or other related terminology. The base station 104 or an entity at the base station 104 can be implemented as an IAB node, a relay node, a sidelink node, an aggregated (monolithic) base station, or a disaggregated base station including one or more RUs 106, DUs 108, and / or CUs 110. A set of aggregated or disaggregated base stations may be referred to as a next generation-radio access network (NG-RAN) . In some examples, the UE 102a operates in dual connectivity  (DC) with the base station 104e and the base station / RU 106a. In such cases, the base station 104e can be a master node and the base station / RU 160a can be a secondary node.

[0036] Still referring to FIG. 1, any of the UEs 102 may include a timing component 140 configured to receiving, from a network entity 104, control signaling configuring multiple control resource sets (CORESETs) within a CORESET pool, and at least one of:multiple timing advance groups (TAGs) , an additional timing advance (TA) offset, or a transmission scheme for an uplink transmission; obtain one or more TAs for at least one of the multiple TAGs or the additional TA offset; and transmit, to the network entity (104) , the uplink transmission based on the one or more TAs.

[0037] The base stations 104 or a network entity of the base stations 104 may include an alignment component 150 configured to transmit, to a UE 102, control signaling configuring multiple CORESETs within a CORESET pool, and at least one of: multiple TAGs, an additional TA offset, or a transmission scheme for an uplink transmission; obtain one or more TAs for at least one of the multiple TAGs or the additional TA offset; and receive, from the UE 102, the uplink transmission based on the one or more TAs.

[0038] Accordingly, FIG. 1 describes a wireless communication system that may be implemented in connection with aspects of one or more other figures described herein. Further, although the following description may be focused on 5G NR, the concepts described herein may be applicable to other similar areas, such as 5G-Advanced and future versions, LTE, LTE-advanced (LTE-A) , and other wireless technologies, such as 6G.

[0039] FIG. 2A illustrates a diagram 200 ofuplink time alignment of a UE. To maintain the uplink time alignment with a network entity 104, a UE 120 transmits an uplink signal with a timing advance (TA) 230, as shown in FIG. 2A. The TA 230 is used to compensate the round-trip delay between the UE 102 and the network entity 104. The round-trip delay includes a downlink propagation delay and uplink propagation delay between the UE and the network entity.

[0040] The UE can maintain the TA based on the timing of a DL signal in instances where the DL propagation delay tDL and the UL propagation delay tUL is similar or the same. The UE 102 may perform autonomous TA adjustment based on a maximum autonomous time adjustment step and a minimum aggregate adjustment rate to reach a timing error limit. The network entity 104 can also indicate a TA command (TAC)  via medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) or random access response (RAR) to instruct the UE to adjust the TA based on uplink measurement. The network entity may trigger a PRACH for TA measurement. The UE determines the TA as (NTA+NTA, offset) Tc, where NTA is based on the TAC and NTA for PRACH is 0; NTA, offset is optionally configured by the network entity 104 via RRC signaling (e.g., n-TimingAdvanceOffset) ; Tc indicates the granularity for TA command, which is based on the highest subcarrier spacing (SCS) and sampling rate.

[0041] The network entity may configure a TA group (TAG) for one or multiple serving cells, where the serving cells share the same TA. A TAG containing a special cell (SpCell) of a MAC entity is referred to as a primary TAG (PTAG) , whereas the term secondary TAG (STAG) refers to other TAGs. The SpCell includes the primary cell (PCell) and primary secondary cell (PSCell) .

[0042] For multiple downlink control information (mDCI) based multiple transmission and reception point (mTRP) operation, the network entity configures multiple control resource set (CORESET) pools associated with different TRPs or pool indexes in a serving cell and configures multiple TAGs (e.g., two TAGs for the serving cell) . Different TAGs can be applied to uplink signals associated with an applied joint or UL TCI state, which is associated with different CORESET pool indexes. The network entity configures the associated TAG identifier (ID) for a transmission and configuration indication (TCI) state (e.g., the network entity 104 configures a TAG ID pointer (tag-Id-ptr) in the TCI state) . The UE determines the uplink transmission timing based on (NTA+NTA, offset) Tc before the reception of the first detected path (in time) of the corresponding downlink reference signal associated with the TCI state.

[0043] For each TAG, the network entity 104 configures a time alignment timer (e.g., timeAlignmentTimer) . The UE may start or reset the timer after receiving a TAC. When the timeAlignmentTimer expires, the UE may perform as follows: if the timeAlignmentTimer is associated with a PTAG and the SpCell is not configured with two PTAGs, or if the timeAlignmentTimer is associated with a PTAG, the SpCell is configured with two PTAGs, and the timeAlignmentTimer associated with the other PTAG is not running, the UE may flush all Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) buffers for all serving cells; notify RRC to release PUCCH for all serving cells, if configured; notify RRC to release SRS for all serving cells, if configured; clear any configured downlink assignments and configured uplink grants; clear any PUSCH resource for semi-persistent Channel State Information (CSI) reporting;  consider all running timeAlignmentTimers as expired; or maintain NTA of all TAGs. In some instances, if the timeAlignmentTimer is associated with a TAG for an SCell configured with only a single TAG, or if the timeAlignmentTimer is associated with a TAG for an SCell, and if the SCell is configured with two TAGs and the timeAlignmentTimer associated with the other TAG is not running, the UE may flush all HARQ buffers for all such SCells; notify RRC to release PUCCH, if configured for all such SCells; notify RRC to release SRS, if configured for all such SCells; clear any configured downlink assignments and configured uplink grants for all such SCells; clear any PUSCH resource for semi-persistent CSI reporting for all such SCells; or maintain NTA of this TAG. Otherwise, if the timeAlignmentTimer is associated with a TAG for a serving cell configured with two TAGs, and if the timeAlignmentTimer associated with the other TAG is running, for all such serving cells, the UE may clear any configured downlink assignment, if the activated TCI state (s) for all PUCCH resources configured for the configured downlink assignment is associated with the TAG of the expired timeAlignmentTimer; clear any configured uplink grant, if the activated TCI state (s) for the configured uplink grant is associated with the TAG of the expired timeAlignmentTimer; clear any PUSCH resource for semi-persistent CSI reporting, if the activated TCI state (s) for the PUSCH resource is associated with the TAG of the expired timeAlignmentTimer; or maintain the NTA of the TAG.

[0044] FIG. 2B illustrates a diagram 220 ofuplink transmission based on an asymmetric DL / UL TRP operation. In the diagram 220 of FIG. 2B, a first TRP 104a and a second TRP 104b may be associated with the network entity, such that the network entity communicates with the UE 102 based on the asymmetric UL / DL TRP operation. In this scenario, the network entity transmits the downlink signal from the first TRP 104a and receives an uplink signal from a second TRP 104b or both of the first and second TRPs. The UL propagation delay between the UE 102 and the first TRP 104a and the UL propagation delay between the UE 102 and the second TRP 104b could be different. More specifically, since there is a lack of a downlink signal for the UE 120 to identify the reference timing the UE lacks information on the target received TRP(s) , such that the UE is unable to apply a correct TA for an uplink transmission.

[0045] In some instances, such as for the transmission schemes of PUCCH / PUSCH, e.g., spatial division multiplex (SDM) scheme where the UE transmits different layers at the same resource elements based on different TCI states; single frequency network  (SFN) scheme where the UE transmits the same signal in the same layer based on different TCI states at the same resource elements; time division multiplexing (TDM) scheme where the UE transmits different transmission occasions of the same transport block by different TCI states, the application of the TA for the signals corresponding to each TCI state could be problematic.

[0046] Aspects of the present disclosure address the above-noted and other deficiencies by implementing methods for uplink time alignment for asymmetric downlink and uplink TRP scenarios, such as TA maintenance for uplink signal toward different TRPs, uplink signal transmission in instances where a time alignment timer expires, and / or transmission for uplink channels with multiple indicated TCI states.

[0047] FIG. 3 illustrates a diagram 300 of an example procedure for uplink time alignment for asymmetric DL / UL TRP between a UE and a network entity. The network entity 104 may correspond to a base station or a unit of a base station, such as the RU 106, the DU 108, the CU 110, etc.

[0048] The UE 102 optionally transmits 302, to a network entity 104 (and the network entity 104 optionally receives 302 from the UE 102) , a UE capability message indicating supported configurations for uplink time alignment for a multiple TRP operation. In some aspects, the supported configurations indicated in the UE capability message comprise multiple TAGs for a serving cell with a single CORESET pool, multiple TAGs for a serving cell with the transmission scheme (s) for a PUSCH transmission, multiple TAGs for a serving cell with the transmission scheme (s) for a PUCCH transmission, additional TA offsets, additional TA offsets for a serving cell with the transmission scheme (s) for the PUSCH transmission, or additional TA offsets for a serving cell with the transmission scheme (s) for the PUCCH transmission.

[0049] The UE receives 304, from the network entity 104 (and the network entity 104 transmits 304, to the UE 102) , control signaling configuring multiple CORESETs within a CORESET pool, and at least one of: multiple TAGs, an additional TA offset, or a transmission scheme for an uplink transmission. In some aspects, the control signaling configuring the multiple CORSETs configures the additional TA offset associated with a transmission configuration indication (TCI) state.

[0050] The UE obtains 306 one or more TAs for at least one of the multiple TAGs or the additional TA offset. The network entity 104 obtains 306 one or more TAs for at least one of the multiple TAGs or the additional TA offset. In some aspects, the UE may  obtain the one or more TAs via UE autonomous TA measurement based on an autonomous additional time adjustment step or an aggregate additional adjustment rate, as discussed herein or at least in connection with diagram 400 of FIG. 4. In some aspects, the UE may obtain the one or more TAs in response to a received TAC, as discussed herein. In some aspects, when a time alignment timer expires for a first TAG, the UE performs at least one of a clearance of all HARQ buffers for all serving cells, a release of PUCCH or SRS resources for all serving cells, a clearance of configured downlink assignments or configured uplink grants, a clearance of PUSCH resources for semi-persistent CSI reporting, or maintains a timing offset of all the multiple TAGS. In some aspects, a time alignment timer status is based on at least one of cell-level reference timing or a reference signal-level timing.

[0051] The UE optionally transmits 308, to the network entity 104 (and the network entity 104 optionally receives 308, from the UE 102) , a report of TA information based on an autonomous TA adjustment or an autonomous additional TA offset adjustment performed by the UE. In some aspects, a configuration for the autonomous TA adjustment or the autonomous additional TA offset adjustment is included within the control signaling configuring the multiple CORESETs. In some aspects, the control signaling comprises the TAC within a MAC-CE or a RAR for the at least one of the TAGs.

[0052] The UE optionally receives 310, from the network entity 104 (and the network entity 104 optionally transmits 310, to the UE 102) , an activation signal for the uplink transmission. In some aspects, the activation signal is comprised within a MAC-CE or a DCI.

[0053] The UE transmits 312, to the network entity 104 (and the network entity 104 receives 312, from the UE 102) , the uplink transmission based on the TA measurement. In some aspects, the uplink transmission includes a PUCCH transmission or a PUSCH transmission. The transmission scheme for the PUCCH transmission or the PUSCH transmission comprises a SFN scheme, a SDM scheme, or a TDM scheme. In some aspects, the UE transmits a PRACH or MsgA transmissions when the time alignment timer is not running. In some aspects, the UE refrains from transmitting PUCCH, PUSCH, or SRS transmission when the time alignment timer is not running. In some aspects, the UE transmits at least one of: a PRACH, MsgA, PUCCH, PUSCH, or SRS transmissions when the time alignment timer is not running for a first TAG and running for a second TAG. In some aspects,  the uplink transmission is based on the time alignment timer status and a TA based on a TA command for at least one of the TAGs or the additional TA offset indication.

[0054] In some aspects, the control signaling configures all the CORESET (s) for a serving cell within a same CORESET pool, and at least one of the followings: multiple TAGs or additional TA offset, and optionally configuring one of the schemes for PUSCH and / or PUCCH: SFN, SDM or TDM scheme. In some aspects, to configure a single CORESET pool, the network entity 104 configures a single CORSET. The network entity 104 transmits the control signaling via RRC signaling (e.g., RRCReconfiguration) . In some aspects, the network entity configures the CORESETs for a serving cell within a same CORESET pool by one of the following configurations: configuring all the CORESETs without CORESET pool index; configuring all the CORESETs with the same value of CORESET pool index, e.g., CORESET pool index 0; or configuring a first subset of CORESETs without CORESET pool index and the remaining CORESETs for the serving cell with CORESET pool index as 0.

[0055] In some aspects, to obtain the one or more TAs, the network entity 104 and the UE 102 may perform a random access procedure for TA measurement for at least one of the configured TAGs or the additional TA offset measurement. The network entity may transmit a control signal to indicate the TA for at least one of the configured TAGs or the additional TA offset. The network entity transmits, to the UE, a MAC CE or DCI activating a semi-persistent PUSCH or PUCCH or scheduling an aperiodic PUSCH or PUCCH. The UE, in response, transmits the PUSCH or PUCCH based on the status of the time alignment timer and one or multiple TAs according to the received TA command for at least one of the configured TAGs and / or the received additional TA offset indication.

[0056] In some aspects, unless specified, a RRC signaling may indicate a RRC reconfiguration message from the network entity to UE, or a system information block (SIB) , where the SIB can be an existing SIB (e.g., SIB1) or a new SIB (e.g., SIB J, where J is an integer above 21) transmitted by the network entity. In some implementations, the network entity receives the UE capability from a core network (e.g., Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) ) . In yet some other implementations, the network entity receives the UE capability from another network entity (e.g., gNB or eNB) .

[0057] In some aspects, the network entity configures multiple TAG identifiers (IDs) , e.g., two TAG IDs, for a serving cell. The network entity configures the TAG pointer in a TCI state. In an example, the network entity may configure the TAG pointer in an UL TCI state (e.g., TCI-UL-State) or in a joint TCI state (e.g., TCI-State) . For the serving cell, all the CORESETs are associated with or configured with one CORESET pool index, e.g., CORESET pool index 0. In an example, if all CORESETs in a serving cell or bandwidth part are not configured with CORESET pool index value by the network entity, the UE determines that all CORESETs are associated with CORESET pool index value 0.

[0058] In some aspects, the network entity configures a pathloss offset in the TCI state. For example, the network entity may configure the TAG pointer and pathloss offset in an UL TCI state for a serving cell in a band within frequency range 1 (FR1) or in a band within frequency range 2 (FR2) . In another example, the network entity may configure the TAG pointer and pathloss offset in a joint TCI state in a band within FR1 or FR2. Alternatively, the network entity 104 may refrain from configuring the TAG pointer and / or pathloss offset in a joint TCI state for a serving cell in a band within FR2.

[0059] In some aspects, the network entity configures one of the following transmission schemes for a PUSCH transmission: SDM scheme, SFN scheme, or TDM scheme. In some aspects, the network entity may refrain from configuring one of the following transmission schemes for the PUSCH transmission: SDM scheme, SFN scheme, or TDM scheme. In some other aspects, the network entity may refrain from indicating or configuring the UE to apply two indicated joint / UL TCI state for transmitting the PUSCH transmission (e.g., by TCI selection field in DCI or RRC parameter applyIndicatedTCI-State) . In some aspects, the network entity may refrain from indicating or configuring the UE to apply two indicated joint / UL TCI state for transmitting the PUSCH transmission (e.g., by TCI selection field in DCI or RRC parameter applyIndicatedTCI-State) , in instances where one of the following transmission schemes for the PUSCH transmission are configured: SDM scheme, SFN scheme, or TDM scheme. In some aspects, the UE reports a common or separate UE capability indicating whether it supports multiple TAGs for the PUSCH transmission with the following schemes: SDM scheme, SFN scheme, or TDM scheme.

[0060] In some aspects, the network entity configures one of the following transmission schemes for at least one of the PUCCH resource: SFN scheme, or TDM scheme. In some aspects, the network entity may refrain from configuring one of the following transmission schemes for the PUCCH transmission: SFN scheme, or TDM scheme. In some aspects, the network entity may refrain from configuring the UE to apply two indicated joint / UL TCI state for transmitting PUCCH (e.g., by RRC parameter applyIndicatedTCI-State) . In some aspects, the network entity may refrain from configuring the UE to apply two indicatedjoint / UL TCI state for transmitting PUCCH (e.g., by RRC parameter applyIndicatedTCI-State) , if one of the following transmission schemes for the PUSCH transmission are configured: SFN scheme, or TDM scheme. In some aspects, the UE may report a common or separate UE capability indicating whether it supports multiple TAGs for the PUCCH with the following schemes: SFN scheme, or TDM scheme.

[0061] In some aspects, the UE may perform an autonomous TA adjustment and report the TA information to the network entity. FIG. 4 illustrates a diagram 400 of an autonomous TA adjustment at the UE. In an embodiment, the UE may perform the autonomous TA adjustment for one or a subset of the configured TAGs (e.g., TAG1 440, TAG2 442) . The UE may refrain from performing the autonomous TA adjustment for other configured TAG (s) . The network entity may configure whether the UE can perform the autonomous TA adjustment for a TAG. FIG. 4 illustrates an example for the UE autonomous TA adjustment for a first TAG (e.g., TAG1 440) . The UE autonomous TA adjustment for the second TAG (e.g., TAG2 442) is disabled. The autonomous TA adjustment for the first TAG may be based on the following equation: previous TA + 2* (tDL, new -tDL) , where tDL is a first DL propagation time between the first TRP 104a and the UE 102, and tDL, new is a second DL propagation time between the first TRP 104a and the UE 102. Therefore, the UE only updates the TA for the first TAG.

[0062] In some aspects, the network entity may configure one or multiple of the followings for UE autonomous TA update for a TAG: maximum autonomous time adjustment step Tq, minimum aggregate adjustment rate Tp, or timing error limit Te. In some aspects, the value of the above parameters may be separately pre-defined for the first TAG and the second TAG. For example, two parameter sets including at least one of the above parameters may be pre-defined or configured. The network entity may indicate which parameter set the UE should apply for a TAG. Then the UE may  apply different autonomous TA adjustment schemes for TA adjustment for different TAGs.

[0063] In some aspects, the UE may transmit the uplink transmission based on the TA for the TAG corresponding to the TCI state applied to the uplink transmission. The UE transmits the uplink channel / signal (NTA+NTA, offset) Tc before a reference timing.

[0064] FIG. 5A illustrates a diagram 500 of a cell-level reference timing. In some aspects, the UE 102 may determine the reference timing (e.g., TA 530a) for each TAG based on the downlink timing of the reference cell (e.g., the serving cell) , e.g., the reception of the first detected path (in time) of the corresponding downlink frame (e.g., DL slot x 552) from the reference cell. Thus, the UE may transmit the uplink transmission (NTA+NTA, offset) Tc before the reception of the first detected path (in time) of the corresponding downlink frame from the reference cell, as shown for example in FIG. 5A.

[0065] FIG. 5B illustrates a diagram 520 of a cell-level reference timing and a reference timing offset. In some aspects, the network entity may configure a reference timing offset 554 by RRC signaling, MAC CE or DCI, which may be associated with each TCI state. Then the UE may determine the reference timing (e.g., TA 530b) based on the downlink timing of the reference cell (e.g., the serving cell) plus the reference timing offset, e.g., the reception of the first detected path (in time) of the corresponding downlink frame (e.g., DL slot x 552) from the reference cell plus the reference timing offset, as shown for example in FIG. 5B.

[0066] FIG. 5C illustrates a diagram 540 a RS-level reference timing. In some aspects, the UE may determine the reference timing (e.g., 530c, 530d) for each TAG (e.g., TAG0, TAG1) based on the downlink timing of the downlink reference signal (e.g., 556a, 556b) associated with the TCI state applied to the UL channel / signal, e.g., the first detected path (in time) of the downlink reference signal (e.g., 556a, 556b) associated with the TCI state applied to the UL channel / signal. Thus, the UE may transmit the uplink channel / signal (NTA+NTA, offset) Tc before the reception of the first detected path (in time) of the downlink reference signal associated with the TCI state applied to the UL channel / signal, as shown for example in FIG. 5C.

[0067] In some aspects, the network entity may configure whether the UE determines the reference timing for each TAG based on the downlink timing for the reference cell or the downlink reference signal associated with the TCI state applied to the UL signal. The UE may report the UE capability indicating whether it supports to determine the  UE autonomous TA adjustment for each TAG based on the downlink timing for the reference cell and / or the downlink reference signal associated with the TCI state applied to the UL signal.

[0068] In an embodiment, the network entity may schedule the UE to transmit a PRACH for TA measurement. In some aspects, the network entity performs intra-TRP PRACH scheduling, where the network entity transmits to the UE a PDCCH scheduling the PRACH and receives the PRACH from the same TRP. The network entity indicates the UE to measure the pathloss for the PRACH power control based on DL RS quasi-co-located with the demodulation reference signal (DMRS) for the PDCCH triggering the PRACH.

[0069] In some aspects, the network entity performs cross-TRP PRACH scheduling, where the network entity transmits to the UE a PDCCH scheduling the PRACH from a first TRP and receives the PRACH at a second TRP. The network entity indicates the UE to measure the pathloss for the PRACH power control based on the synchronization signal block (SSB) associated with the PRACH or the SSB indicated in the PDCCH scheduling the PRACH.

[0070] In some aspects, for the PDCCH ordering PRACH or the PDCCH scheduling the PRACH (e.g., DCI format 1_0) , the network entity utilizes a DCI field indicating the pathloss reference signal for the PRACH. In some instances, a bit field index 0 of the DCI field is mapped to the DL RS that the DM-RS of the PDCCH order is quasi-collocated with, and a bit field index 1 of the DCI field is mapped to the SS / PBCH indicated by the SS / PBCH index field in this DCI format. The network entity may configure whether the DCI field is present / reserved or not. The network entity may configure whether the DCI field is present / reserved or not, when all CORESETs are associated with no or one CORESET pool index value. In some aspects, the UE determines that the DCI field is absent or reserved, ifpathloss offset is configured or associated with configured, activated, or indicated joint or UL TCI state, or if all CORESETs are associated with no or one CORESET pool index value. If the DCI field is reserved or not present, the network entity may perform the intra-TRP PRACH scheduling. Thus, the UE may measure the pathloss for the PRACH based on the DL RS that the DM-RS of the PDCCH order is quasi-collocated with. After receiving PRACH, the network entity may indicate the TAC within a MAC CE or RAR for a TAG. Then the UE determines the TA for the corresponding TAG based on the  received TAC, and transmits the uplink signal with the indicated TCI state associated with the TAG based on the determined TA.

[0071] In some aspects, if the time alignment timer (e.g., timeAlignmentTimer) is associated with a PTAG, the SpCell is configured with more than one PTAGs (e.g., two TAGs) and the time alignment timer (e.g., timeAlignmentTimer) associated with the other PTAG (s) is not running, the UE may perform at least one of the following: flush all HARQ buffers for all serving cells; notify RRC to release PUCCH for all serving cells, if configured; notify RRC to release SRS for all serving cells, if configured; clear any configured downlink assignments and configured uplink grants; clear any PUSCH resource for semi-persistent CSI reporting; consider all running timeAlignmentTimers as expired; or maintain NTA of all TAGs. In some aspects, among all serving cells mentioned in the embodiment, some of the serving cells may be configured with more than one CORESET pool index value, and others may be configured with no or one CORESET pool index value. In some aspects, all the serving cells above may be configured with the same CORESET pool.

[0072] In some aspects, if the time alignment timer (e.g., timeAlignmentTimer) is associated with a TAG for an SCell, and if the SCell is configured with more than one TAGs (e.g., two TAGs) and the time alignment timer (e.g., timeAlignmentTimer) associated with the other TAG (s) is not running, the UE may perform at least one of the following: flush all HARQ buffers for all such SCells; notify RRC to release PUCCH, if configured for all such SCells; notify RRC to release SRS, if configured for all such SCells; clear any configured downlink assignments and configured uplink grants for all such SCells; clear any PUSCH resource for semi-persistent CSI reporting for all such SCells; or maintain NTA of the TAG. In some aspects, among all SCells mentioned in the embodiment, some of the SCells may be configured with more than one CORESET pool index value, and others may be configured with no or one CORESET pool index value. In some other implementations, all the serving cells above may be configured with the same CORESET pool.

[0073] In some aspects, if the time alignment timer (e.g., timeAlignmentTimer) is associated with a TAG for a serving cell configured with more than one TAGs (e.g., two TAGs) and if the time alignment timer (e.g., timeAlignmentTimer) associated with the other TAG is running, for all such serving cells, the UE may clear a configured downlink assignment, if the UE identifies one or more of: at least one of the activated or applied / indicated TCI state (s) for at least one of the PUCCH resources  configured for the configured downlink assignment is associated with the TAG of the expired timeAlignmentTimer; the activated or applied / indicated TCI state (s) for all the PUCCH resources configured for the configured downlink assignment is associated with the TAG of the expired timeAlignmentTimer; at least one of the activated or applied / indicated TCI state (s) for all the PUCCH resources configured for the configured downlink assignment is associated with the TAG of the expired timeAlignmentTimer; the activated or applied / indicated TCI state (s) for at least one of the PUCCH resources configured for the configured downlink assignment is associated with the TAG of the expired timeAlignmentTimer; at least one of the PUCCH resources configured for the configured downlink assignment is activated with or configured to apply more than one TCI states; all the PUCCH resources configured for the configured downlink assignment are activated with or configured to apply more than one TCI states; at least one of the PUCCH resources configured for the configured downlink assignment is configured with one of the schemes: SFN scheme, or TDM scheme; or all the PUCCH resources configured for the configured downlink assignment are configured with one of the schemes: SFN scheme, or TDM scheme. The UE may further clear a configured uplink grant, if the UE identifies one or more of the following: at least one of the activated or applied / indicated TCI state (s) for the configured uplink grant is associated with the TAG of the expired timeAlignmentTimer; all the activated or applied / indicated TCI state (s) for the configured uplink grant is associated with the TAG of the expired timeAlignmentTimer; two SRS resource sets are configured in the configured uplink grant; or one of the schemes are configured in the configured uplink grant: SFN scheme, SDM scheme or TDM scheme. The UE may further clear a PUSCH resource for semi-persistent CSI reporting, if the UE identifies one or more of the following: at least one of the activated or applied / indicated TCI state (s) for the PUSCH resource is associated with the TAG of the expired timeAlignmentTimer; all the activated or applied / indicated TCI state (s) for the PUSCH resource is associated with the TAG of the expired timeAlignmentTimer; two SRS resource sets are configured or indicated for the PUSCH resource; or one of the schemes are configured or indicated for the PUSCH resource: SFN scheme, SDM scheme or TDM scheme. The UE may further maintain NTA of the TAG.

[0074] The UE may perform the same or different of the above behavior for SpCell and SCell. In some aspects, the serving cell (s) above may include at least the serving  cell (s) with the same CORESET pool configured for all the CORESETs. Thus, the serving cell (s) with different CORESET pools configured may be included or excluded.

[0075] In some aspects, if the time alignment timer (e.g., timeAlignmentTimer) for all TAGs for a serving cell is not running, the UE may refrain from performing any uplink transmission on the serving cell, except for PRACH transmission or MsgA transmission.

[0076] In some aspects, if the time alignment timer (e.g., timeAlignmentTimer) is associated with a TAG for a serving cell configured with more than one TAGs (e.g., two TAGs) and the time alignment timer is not running, and if the time alignment timer (e.g., timeAlignmentTimer) associated with the other TAG for the serving cell is running, the UE may refrain from performing any uplink transmission on the serving cell, except one or more of the following: PRACH; MsgA; PUCCH with one or multiple activated / indicated TCI state (s) , where all the activated / indicated TCI state (s) are associated with a TAG that is running; PUCCH with one or multiple activated / indicated TCI state (s) , where at least one of the activated / indicated TCI state (s) are associated with a TAG that is running; PUSCH with one or multiple activated / indicated TCI state (s) , where all the activated / indicated TCI state (s) are associated with a TAG that is running; PUSCH with one or multiple activated / indicated TCI state (s) , where at least one of the activated / indicated TCI state (s) are associated with a TAG that is running; an SRS resource associated with a TAG that is running; an SRS resource set including at least one of the SRS associated with a TAG that is running; or an SRS resource set with all the SRS resources associated with a TAG that is running.

[0077] In some aspects, the network entity and UE determine the associated TAG for an SRS resource based on the associated TAG for its configured / activated / indicated TCI state. If an SRS resource is not configured / activated / indicated with a TCI state, the network entity and UE may determine the SRS resource is associated with a default TAG, e.g., the first TAG (e.g., TAG indicated by n0 in tag-Id-ptr) , or a TAG configured or indicated by the network entity 104 or reported by the UE.

[0078] In some aspects, for PUSCH / PUCCH without TCI state indicated or configured, the network entity and UE may determine the associated TAG based on a default TAG, e.g., the first TAG (e.g., TAG indicated by n0 in tag-Id-ptr) , or a TAG configured or indicated by the network entity 104 or reported by the UE.

[0079] In some aspects, the network entity may configure or indicate the TCI states for all the SRS resources within an SRS resource set with the same TAG. The network entity may refrain from configuring or indicating the TCI states for all the SRS resources within an SRS resource set with different TAGs. The UE shall not expect the network entity to configure or indicate the TCI states for all the SRS resources within an SRS resource set with different TAGs. The UE may report a UE capability indicating whether it supports the network entity to configure or indicate the TCI states for all the SRS resources within an SRS resource set with different TAGs.

[0080] In some aspects, when the UE is configured or scheduled to transmit the PUSCH / PUCCH based on multiple activated / indicated TCI states associated with multiple TAGs, where the time alignment timer for one of the TAGs is not running, the UE may perform one of the following: refrain from transmitting such PUSCH or PUCCH, including all portions or transmission occasions; transmit the portion (s) (e.g., 653a, 653c) of the PUSCH or PUCCH based on the TCI state (s) (e.g., 650) associated with the TAG (s) (e.g., TAG1) where the time alignment timer is running, and refrain from transmitting the other portion (s) (e.g., 653b, 653d) of the PUSCH or PUCCH based on the TCI state (s) (e.g., 652) associated with the TAG (s) (e.g., TAG2) where the time alignment timer is not running; in one example, for TDM scheme, the UE may refrain from transmitting the transmission occasions (repetitions) of the PUSCH or PUCCH with the TCI state associated with a TAG where the time alignment timer is not running, as shown for example in diagram 600 of FIG. 6A; or transmit all the portion (s) or the transmission occasions (repetitions) (e.g., 653a, 653b, 653c, 653d) of the PUSCH or PUCCH based on the TCI state (s) (e.g., 650) associated with the TAG (s) (e.g., TAG1) where the time alignment timer is running, as shown in diagram 620 of FIG. 6B.

[0081] In some aspects, the UE may determine the above behavior based on the transmission scheme configured for the PUSCH or PUCCH. In one example, for SDM or SFN scheme, the UE may refrain from transmitting the whole PUSCH or PUCCH. In another example, for TDM scheme, the UE may refrain from transmitting the transmission occasions (repetitions) of the PUSCH or PUCCH with the TCI state associated with a TAG where the time alignment timer is not running. In some aspects, the UE may report the UE capability indicating the supported above behavior (s) . In some aspects, the network entity may configure the UE behavior based on the above  behavior (s) . The network entity may configure a common UE behavior or different UE behaviors for different transmission schemes.

[0082] In some aspects, for a serving cell configured with multiple TAGs, if the uplink transmission timing difference between the TAGs is greater than a first threshold, the UE may perform one or more of the following: determine the time alignment timer for the TAGs as expired or determine the time alignment timer for one of the TAGs as expired, where the TAG may be pre-defined (e.g., a second TAG) or configured by the network entity or reported by the UE. The first threshold may be predefined or configured by the network entity or reported by the UE.

[0083] In some aspects, for a serving cell configured with multiple TAGs, if the uplink transmission timing difference between the TAGs of any serving cell is greater than a second threshold, the UE may determine the time alignment timer for the TAGs as expired. The second threshold may be predefmed or configured by the network entity 104 or reported by the UE.

[0084] In some aspects, the network entity configures an additional TA offset associated with a TCI state. The network entity may configure a different value of the TA offset for different TCI states. For example, the network entity may configure the additional TA offset via RRC signaling. The network entity may further update the additional TA offset via MAC CE, RAR, or DCI. The network entity may indicate the differential or absolute additional TA offset in the additional TA offset update signaling. The UE updates the additional TA offset after X symbols / slots / millisecond / subframes after receiving the last symbol of the PDSCH or PDCCH for the additional TA offset update signaling or after transmitting the last symbol of the acknowledgement (ACK) of the PDSCH or PDCCH for the additional TA offset update signaling. The value of X may be pre-defined or configured by the network entity 104 or reported by the UE.

[0085] In some aspects, the network entity may configure multiple TA offsets associated with a TCI state, where different TA offsets may correspond to different measured reference signal received power (RSRP) range, pathloss range, pathloss offset range, or TA range excluding TA offset. The UE may apply the corresponding TA offset based on the measured RSRP / pathloss / TA or indicated / configured pathloss offset.

[0086] In some aspects, for an uplink channel without TCI state indicated or configured, the UE determines the additional TA offset based on a default value (e.g., 0) or based on a TA offset configured / indicated by the network entity or based on a TA offset  reported by the UE, as shown for example in diagram 700 of FIG. 7. For an uplink channel / signal based on a TCI state associated with an additional TA offset 732, the UE transmits the uplink channel / signal at (NTA+NTA, offset+NTA, offset1) Tc (e.g., 730a) before a reference timing (e.g., DL slot x 752) , where the NTA, offset1 indicates the additional TA offset 732. The reference timing may be based on the cell-level reference timing or RS-level timing.

[0087] In some aspects, the UE may perform the autonomous additional TA offset adjustment. The network entity configures whether the UE can perform the autonomous additional TA offset adjustment for a TAG. The UE performs the autonomous additional TA offset adjustment based on the maximum autonomous additional time adjustment step Tq’ and a minimum aggregate additional adjustment rate Tp’, which may be pre-defined or configured by the network entity or reported by the UE. In some aspects, the UE performs the additional TA offset adjustments based on at least one of the following: the maximum amount of the magnitude of the timing change in one adjustment shall be Tq’; the minimum aggregate adjustment rate shall be Tp’ within a first time window, e.g., per second; or the maximum aggregate adjustment rate shall be Tq’ within a second time window, e.g., per 200 ms for SCS of UL signals smaller or equal to 120 kHz and 100 ms for SCS of UL signals larger or equal to 480 kHz.

[0088] In some aspects, the network entity schedules the UE to transmit PRACH for additional TA offset measurement. The network entity may receive the PRACH from multiple TRPs. In some aspects, the network entity configures or schedules the UE to transmit one PRACH and receive the PRACH from multiple TRPs. The network entity configures the UE to perform the uplink power control for the PRACH based on multiple pathloss reference signals. In one example, the UE calculates a first transmission power and a second transmission power for PRACH based on a first pathloss reference signal and a second pathloss reference signal separately. The network entity configures a common or separate uplink power control parameters (e.g., target received power (P0) ) for the UE to determine the first and second transmission power. The UE transmits the PRACH based on the minimum, maximum or average value of the first and second transmission power. In another example, the UE calculates the pathloss based on the multiple pathloss reference signals. The UE determines the pathloss based on the minimum, maximum or average value of the pathloss calculated from the multiple pathloss reference signals. The UE performs the  uplink power control for the PRACH based on the calculated pathloss and the configured uplink power control parameters.

[0089] In some aspects, the network entity configures or indicates the DL-RS that the DMRS of the PDCCH triggering the PRACH is quasi-co-located with and the SSB that the triggered PRACH is associated with as the pathloss reference signal (s) or the SSB indicated by the PDCCH triggering the PRACH. In the DCI triggering the PRACH, the network entity indicates the pathloss reference signal based on one of the following states: State 1 -the pathloss reference signal is the DL-RS that is quasi-co-located with the DMRS of the PDCCH triggering the PRACH; State 2 -the pathloss reference signal is the SSB that is associated with the triggered PRACH; or State 3-the pathloss reference signals are DL-RS that the DMRS of the PDCCH triggering the PRACH is quasi-co-located with and the SSB that is associated with the triggered PRACH.

[0090] In some aspects, the network entity configures or schedules the UE to transmit multiple PRACHs by one DCI. The network entity may indicate a common or separate associated SSB index for the PRACHs. The network entity may indicate a common or separate random access preamble index for the PRACHs. The network entity may indicate a common or separate PRACH mask index for the PRACHs. The UE determines the pathloss reference signal for PRACH power control based on the PRACH mask index or random access preamble index for the PRACH. In one example, for the PRACH associated with the first PRACH mask index or random access preamble index, the UE calculates the pathloss based on the DL-RS that is quasi-co-located with the DMRS of the PDCCH triggering the PRACH; for the PRACH associated with the second PRACH mask index or random access preamble index, the UE calculates the pathloss based on the SSB that is associated with the triggered PRACH. In some aspects, the network entity may indicate the pathloss reference signal for each triggered PRACH.

[0091] In some aspects, the UE receives the configuration of a timer for additional TA offset alignment. The UE may start or restart a timer for the additional TA offset alignment after receiving the configuration or indication of the additional TA offset. The timer may be configured per TAG or per TCI state or per serving cell. If the timer for a TA offset expires, the UE may perform at least one of the following for one or multiple serving cell (s) associated with the same TAG or TA offset or TCI state: clear any configured downlink assignment, if the UE identifies one or more of  the following: at least one of the activated or applied / indicated TCI state (s) for at least one of the PUCCH resources configured for the configured downlink assignment is associated with the TA offset; the activated or applied / indicated TCI state (s) for all the PUCCH resources configured for the configured downlink assignment is associated with the TA offset; at least one of the activated or applied / indicated TCI state (s) for all the PUCCH resources configured for the configured downlink assignment is associated with the TA offset; the activated or applied / indicated TCI state (s) for at least one of the PUCCH resources configured for the configured downlink assignment is associated with the TA offset; at least one of the PUCCH resources configured for the configured downlink assignment is activated with or configured to apply more than one TCI states; all the PUCCH resources configured for the configured downlink assignment are activated with or configured to apply more than one TCI states; at least one of the PUCCH resources configured for the configured downlink assignment is configured with one of the schemes: SFN scheme, or TDM scheme; or all the PUCCH resources configured for the configured downlink assignment are configured with one of the schemes: SFN scheme, or TDM scheme. The UE may further clear any configured uplink grant, if the UE identifies one or multiple of the following: at least one of the activated or applied / indicated TCI state (s) for the configured uplink grant is associated with the TA offset; all the activated or applied / indicated TCI state (s) for the configured uplink grant is associated with the TA offset; two SRS resource sets are configured in the configured uplink grant; or one of the schemes are configured in the configured uplink grant: SFN scheme, SDM scheme or TDM scheme. The UE may further clear any PUSCH resource for semi-persistent CSI reporting, if the UE identifies one or more of the following: at least one of the activated or applied / indicated TCI state (s) for the PUSCH resource is associated with the TA offset; all the activated or applied / indicated TCI state (s) for the PUSCH resource is associated with the TA offset; two SRS resource sets are configured or indicated for the PUSCH resource; or one of the schemes are configured or indicated for the PUSCH resource: SFN scheme, SDM scheme or TDM scheme. The UE may further maintain NTA, offset1 of this the TA offset or determine the timeAlignmentTimer for the TAG associated with the expired TA offset.

[0092] In some aspects, if the timer is configured per TAG, the serving cell (s) above may include at least the serving cell (s) with the same CORESET pool configured for all  the CORESETs. Thus, the serving cell (s) with different CORESET pools configured may be included or excluded.

[0093] In some aspects, the network entity configures or indicates the TCI state (s) associated with the same TAG or the same additional TA offset for the PUCCH resource configured with at least one of the schemes: SFN scheme or TDM scheme, or PUSCH configured with at least one of the schemes: SDM scheme, SFN scheme or TDM scheme. The network entity refrains from configuring or indicating the TCI state (s) associated with the different TAGs or different additional TA offsets for the PUCCH resource configured with at least one of the schemes: SFN scheme or TDM scheme, or PUSCH configured with at least one of the schemes: SDM scheme, SFN scheme or TDM scheme. The UE does not expect the network entity to configure or indicate the TCI state (s) associated with the different TAGs or different additional TA offsets for the PUCCH resource configured with at least one of the schemes: SFN scheme or TDM scheme, or PUSCH configured with at least one of the schemes: SDM scheme, SFN scheme or TDM scheme. In some aspects, the UE reports common or separate UE capabilities indicating whether it supports the network entity configuring or indicating the TCI state (s) associated with the different TAGs or different additional TA offsets for the PUCCH resource configured with at least one of the schemes: SFN scheme or TDM scheme, or PUSCH configured with at least one of the schemes: SDM scheme, SFN scheme or TDM scheme.

[0094] In some aspects, the network entity configures or indicates the TCI state (s) associated with different TAGs or different additional TA offsets for the PUCCH resource configured with at least one of the schemes: SFN scheme or TDM scheme, or PUSCH configured with at least one of the schemes: SDM scheme, SFN scheme or TDM scheme. The UE reports whether it supports that the indicated TCI state (s) associated with different TAGs or different additional TA offsets are applied for the PUCCH resource configured with at least one of the schemes: SFN scheme or TDM scheme, or PUSCH configured with at least one of the schemes: SDM scheme, SFN scheme or TDM scheme.

[0095] In some aspects, the UE transmits different portions or transmission occasions of the PUSCH / PUCCH that are associated with different TCI states associated with different TAGs or additional TA offsets based on different TAs. For example, for SDM scheme, the UE transmits a first set of layers associated with a first TCI state based on a first TA according to the TAG or additional TA offset for the first TCI  state, and transmits a second set of layers associated with a second TCI state based on a second TA according to the TAG or additional TA offset for the first TCI state. In another example, for TDM scheme, the UE transmits a first set of transmission occasions associated with a first TCI state based on a first TA according to the TAG or additional TA offset for the first TCI state, and transmits a second set of transmission occasions associated with a second TCI state based on a second TA according to the TAG or additional TA offset for the first TCI state. In another example, for SFN scheme, the UE transmits a first set of antenna port (s) associated with a first TCI state based on a first TA according to the TAG or additional TA offset for the first TCI state, and transmits a second set of antenna port (s) associated with a second TCI state based on a second TA according to the TAG or additional TA offset for the first TCI state.

[0096] In some aspects, the UE reports the TA information to the network entity. The UE may transmit the TA information report based on a RRC message, a MAC CE or uplink control information (UCI) on PUSCH or PUCCH. The TA information may include at least one of the followings: TA for each TAG, TA offset between the TAs for the TAGs, an additional TA offset, or whether the absolute TA offset between the TAs for the TAGs is above a threshold, where the threshold is pre-defined, e.g., cyclic prefix (CP) size, or configured by the network entity 104 or reported by the UE.

[0097] In some aspects, the UE reports the TA information based on the network entity configuration, activation or triggering in a periodic, semi-persistent or aperiodic manner. The network entity configures the periodicity and slot offset for the TA information report. The network entity configures the uplink resource for the TA information report. In some aspects, the UE reports the TA information based on an event driven manner. If the UE identifies at least one of the followings, the UE may trigger the TA information report procedure, e.g., transmitting a scheduling request if it has not received any uplink grant: the absolute TA offset between the TAs for the TAGs is above a threshold, where the threshold is pre-defined (e.g., CP size) or configured by the network entity; the TA change for at least one of the TAGs is above a threshold, where the threshold is pre-defined or configured by the network entity 104 or reported by the UE; or the TA for at least one of the TAGs is above a threshold, where the threshold is pre-defined or configured by the network entity 104 or reported by the UE. The network entity determines whether to trigger the uplink transmission with a certain transmission scheme based on the received TA information.

[0098] In some aspects, for TDM scheme, the network entity schedules the PUCCH / PUSCH transmission with a gap between transmission occasions with different TCI states. The network entity configures the gap. The minimum size of the gap may be pre-defined or reported by the UE. The network entity and the UE determine the gap as Z symbols, where the value of Z is based on the subcarrier spacing (SCS) for the PUCCH / PUSCH. In some aspects, the UE may drop the PUCCH / PUSCH symbols within the gap. If a first transmission occasion is based on a first TCI state, a second transmission occasion is based on a second TCI state, and they are scheduled in consecutive symbols, the UE may drop the last Z symbols in the first transmission occasion or drop the first Z symbols in the second transmission occasion or drop the last Z1 symbols in the first transmission occasion and the first Z2 symbols in the second transmission occasion, where Z1+Z2=Z. The UE may determine the manner to drop the Z, Z1, or Z2 symbols based on the position of UL DMRS. In some aspects, the UE may drop the PUCCH / PUSCH transmission occasions that cannot meet the requirement of the minimum gap. Ifa first transmission occasion is based on a first TCI state, a second transmission occasion is based on a second TCI state, and they are scheduled in consecutive symbols, the UE may drop the first transmission occasion or drop the second transmission occasion.

[0099] In some aspects, as different TAs may break the orthogonality of the orthogonal cover codes (OCCs) for DMRS ports within a code division multiplexing (CDM) group, for SDM scheme, to reduce the mutual interference for different portions from different TCI states with different TAs, the network entity schedules the UE to transmit the DMRS port (s) corresponding to different TCI states for different TAGs or different TA offsets in different CDM groups. Thus, if the indicated TCI states for SDM based PUSCH transmission are associated with different TAGs or TA offsets, the network entity 104 may refrain from indicating the DMRS port (s) for different TCI states within one CDM group.

[0100] In some aspects, to improve the UL CSI calculation accuracy, for SFN scheme, the network entity schedules the SRS based SFN scheme. The network entity configures or indicates multiple TCI states for one SRS resource. The UE transmits the SRS based on the configured / indicated TCI states.

[0101] In some aspects, the UE transmits the PUSCH / PUCCH based on a common TA, where the UE determines the TA based on the TAs according to the associated TAGs or additional TA offset (s) for the TCI states applied for the PUSCH / PUCCH. For  example, the UE determines a first TA based on the first activated / indicated TCI state and a second TA based on the second activated / indicated TCI state for the PUSCH / PUCCH, such that the UE transmits the PUSCH / PUCCH based on the minimum or maximum or average value of the first and second TA. For TDM scheme, the UE determines to transmit all PUSCH / PUCCH transmission occasions based on the TA associated with the indicated joint / UL TCI state applied for the first or the earliest transmission occasion. In some aspects, the UE determines to transmit the PUSCH / PUCCH transmission occasion based on the TA applied for the transmission occasion, which may be associated with the TAG or TA offset for one of the indicated joint / UL TCI states. Thus, if the TA is updated during the whole transmission of the PUSCH / PUCCH with multiple transmission occasions, the UE starts to apply the new TA for the transmission occasion (s) after the action time of the TA update (e.g., action time of TAC or TA offset update) .

[0102] In some aspects, the network entity configures whether the UE transmits the PUSCH / PUCCH based on a common TA or separate TAs. The network entity transmits the configuration via RRC signaling, MAC CE (e.g., MAC CE activating the PUSCH / PUCCH) , or DCI (e.g., DCI scheduling the PUSCH / PUCCH) . The UE reports a UE capability indicating whether it supports to transmit the PUSCH / PUCCH based on a common TA or separate TAs.

[0103] FIG. 8 illustrates a flowchart 800 of a method of wireless communication at a UE. With reference to FIGs. 1-7, the method may be performed by the UE 102. In embodiments, the UE 102 optionally transmits 802, to a network entity 104, a UE capability message indicating supported configurations for uplink time alignment for a multiple TRP operation. For example, FIG. 3 shows that the UE 102 optionally transmits 302, to the network entity 104, UE capability message indicating supported configurations for uplink time alignment for a multiple TRP operation.

[0105] The UE obtains 806 one or more TAs for at least one of the multiple TAGs or the additional TA offset. For example, FIG. 3 shows that the UE 102 obtains 306 one or more TAs for at least one of the multiple TAGs or the additional TA offset.

[0106] The UE optionally transmits 808, to the network entity 104, a report of TA information based on an autonomous TA adjustment or an autonomous additional TA offset adjustment performed by the UE. For example, FIG. 3 shows that the UE optionally transmits 308, to the network entity 104, a report of TA information based on an autonomous TA adjustment or an autonomous additional TA offset adjustment performed by the UE.

[0107] The UE optionally receives 810, from the network entity 104, an activation signal for the uplink transmission. For example, FIG. 3 shows that the UE optionally receives 310, from the network entity 104, an activation signal for the uplink transmission.

[0108] The UE determines 811 a time alignment timer status for the TAGs. In some aspects, the determining 811 the time alignment timer status for the TAGs includes determining that the time alignment timer for the TAGs has expired or that the time alignment timer for one of the TAGs has expired based on an uplink transmission timing difference between the TAGs being greater than a threshold.

[0109] The UE transmits 812, to the network entity 104, the uplink transmission based on the one or more TAs. For example, FIG. 3 shows that the UE transmits 312, to the network entity 104, the uplink transmission based on the one or more TAs.

[0110] FIG. 8 describes a method from a UE-side of a wireless communication link, whereas FIG. 9 describes a method from a network-side of the wireless communication link.

[0111] FIG. 9 is a flowchart 900 of a method of wireless communication at a network entity. With reference to FIGs. 1-7, the method may be performed by one or more network entities 104, which may correspond to a base station or a unit of the base station, such as the RU 106, the DU 108, and / or the CU 110. In embodiments, the network entity 104 optionally receives 902, from the UE 102, a UE capability message indicating supported configurations for uplink time alignment for multiple TRP operation. For example, FIG. 3 shows that the network entity optionally receives 302, from the UE 102, a UE capability message indicating supported configurations for uplink time alignment for multiple TRP operation.

[0113] The network entity obtains 906 one or more TAs for at least one of the multiple TAGs or the additional TA offset. For example, FIG. 3 shows that the network entity obtains 306 one or more TAs for at least one of the multiple TAGs or the additional TA offset. In some aspects, to obtain 906 the one or more TAs, the network entity performs a random access procedure where the network entity transmits, to the UE 102, a control signaling that indicates the TA for at least one of the TAGs or the additional TA offset.

[0114] The network entity optionally receives 908, from the UE 102, a report of TA information based on an autonomous TA adjustment or an autonomous additional TA offset performed by the UE 102. For example, FIG. 3 shows that the network entity optionally receives 308, from the UE 102, a report of TA information based on an  autonomous TA adjustment or an autonomous additional TA offset performed by the UE 102. In some aspects, a configuration for the autonomous TA adjustment or the autonomous additional TA offset is comprised within the control signaling configuring the CORESET.

[0115] The network entity optionally transmits 910, to the UE 102, an activation signal for the uplink transmission. For example, FIG. 3 shows that the network entity optionally transmits 310, to the UE 102, an activation signal for the uplink transmission. In some aspects, the activation signal is comprised within a MAC-CE or a DCI. The network entity receives 912, from the UE 102, the uplink transmission based on the one or more TAs. For example, FIG. 3 shows that the network entity receives 312, from the UE 102, the uplink transmission based on the one or more TAs. In some aspects, the uplink transmission includes the PUCCH transmission or the PUSCH transmission. The transmission scheme for the PUCCH transmission or the PUSCH transmission comprises a SFN scheme, a SDM scheme, or a TDM scheme.

[0123] FIG. 11 is a diagram 1100 illustrating an example of a hardware implementation for one or more network entities 104. The one or more network entities 104 may be a base station, a component of a base station, or may implement base station functionality. The one or more network entities 104 may include, or may correspond to, at least one of the RU 106, the DU, 108, or the CU 110. The CU 110 may include a CU processor 1146, which may have on-chip memory 1146'. In some aspects, the CU 110 may further include an additional module of memory 1156 and / or a communications interface 1148, both of which may be coupled to the CU processor 1146. The CU 110 can communicate with the DU 108 through a midhaul link 162, such as an Fl interface between the communications interface 1148 of the CU 110 and a communications interface 1128 of the DU 108.

[0124] The DU 108 may include a DU processor 1126, which may have on-chip memory 1126'. In some aspects, the DU 108 may further include an additional module of memory 1136 and / or the communications interface 1128, both of which may be coupled to the DU processor 1126. The DU 108 can communicate with the RU 106 through a fronthaul link 160 between the communications interface 1128 of the DU 108 and a communications interface 1108 of the RU 106.

[0125] The RU 106 may include an RU processor 1106, which may have on-chip memory 1106'. In some aspects, the RU 106 may further include an additional module of memory 1116, the communications interface 1108, and one or more transceivers 1130, all of which may be coupled to the RU processor 1106. The RU 106 may further include antennas 1140, which may be coupled to the one or more transceivers 1130,  such that the RU 106 can communicate through the one or more transceivers 1130 via the antennas 1140 with the UE 102.

[0126] The on-chip memory 1106', 1126', 1146' and the additional modules of memory 1116, 1136, 1156 may each be considered a computer-readable medium  / memory. Each computer-readable medium  / memory may be non-transitory. Each of the processors 1106, 1126, 1146 is responsible for general processing, including execution of software stored on the computer-readable medium  / memory. The software, when executed by the corresponding processor (s) 1106, 1126, 1146 causes the processor (s) 1106, 1126, 1146 to perform the various functions described herein. The computer-readable medium  / memory may also be used for storing data that is manipulated by the processor (s) 1106, 1126, 1146 when executing the software. In examples, the alignment component 150 may sit at any of the one or more network entities 104, such as at the CU 110; both the CU 110 and the DU 108; each of the CU 110, the DU 108, and the RU 106; the DU 108; both the DU 108 and the RU 106; or the RU 106.

[0127] As discussed in FIG. 1 and implemented with respect to FIG. 9, the alignment component 150 is configured to transmit, to a UE, control signaling configuring multiple CORESETs within a CORESET pool, and at least one of: multiple TAGs, an additional TA offset, or a transmission scheme for an uplink transmission; obtain one or more TAs for at least one of the multiple TAGs or the additional TA offset; and receive, from the UE, the uplink transmission based on the one or more TAs.

[0128] The alignment component 150 may be within one or more processors of the one or more network entities 104, such as the RU processor 1106 (e.g., at 150a) , the DU processor 1126 (e.g., at 150b) , and / or the CU processor 1146 (e.g., at 150c) . The alignment component 150a-150c may be one or more hardware components specifically configured to carry out the stated processes / algorithm, implemented by one or more processors 1106, 1126, 1146 configured to perform the stated processes / algorithm, stored within a computer-readable medium for implementation by the one or more processors 1106, 1126, 1146, or a combination thereof.

[0129] The specific order or hierarchy of blocks in the processes and flowcharts disclosed herein is an illustration of example approaches. Hence, the specific order or hierarchy of blocks in the processes and flowcharts may be rearranged. Some blocks may also be combined or deleted. Dashed lines may indicate optional elements of the diagrams. The accompanying method claims present elements of the various blocks in an  example order, and are not limited to the specific order or hierarchy presented in the claims, processes, and flowcharts.

[0130] The detailed description set forth herein describes various configurations in connection with the drawings and does not represent the only configurations in which the concepts described herein may be practiced. The detailed description includes specific details for the purpose of providing a thorough explanation of various concepts. However, these concepts may be practiced without these specific details. In some instances, well known structures and components are shown in block diagram form in order to avoid obscuring such concepts.

[0131] Aspects of wireless communication systems, such as telecommunication systems, are presented with reference to various apparatuses and methods. These apparatuses and methods are described in the following detailed description and are illustrated in the accompanying drawings by various blocks, components, circuits, processes, call flows, systems, algorithms, etc. (collectively referred to as “elements” ) . These elements may be implemented using electronic hardware, computer software, or combinations thereof. Whether such elements are implemented as hardware or software depends upon the particular application and design constraints imposed on the overall system.

[0132] An element, or any portion of an element, or any combination of elements may be implemented as a “processing system” that includes one or more processors. Examples of processors include microprocessors, microcontrollers, graphics processing units (GPUs) , central processing units (CPUs) , application processors, digital signal processors (DSPs) , reduced instruction set computing (RISC) processors, systems-on-chip (SoC) , baseband processors, field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) , programmable logic devices (PLDs) , state machines, gated logic, discrete hardware circuits, and other similar hardware configured to perform the various functionality described throughout this disclosure. One or more processors in the processing system may execute software, which may be referred to as software, firmware, middleware, microcode, hardware description language, or otherwise. Software shall be construed broadly to mean instructions, instruction sets, code, code segments, program code, programs, subprograms, software components, applications, software applications, software packages, routines, subroutines, objects, executables, threads of execution, procedures, functions, or any combination thereof.

[0133] If the functionality described herein is implemented in software, the functions may be stored on, or encoded as, one or more instructions or code on a computer-readable medium, such as a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium. Computer-readable media includes computer storage media and can include a random-access memory (RAM) , a read-only memory (ROM) , an electrically erasable programmable ROM (EEPROM) , optical disk storage, magnetic disk storage, other magnetic storage devices, combinations of these types of computer-readable media, or any other medium that can be used to store computer executable code in the form of instructions or data structures that can be accessed by a computer. Storage media may be any available media that can be accessed by a computer.

[0134] Aspects, implementations, and / or use cases described herein may be implemented across many differing platform types, devices, systems, shapes, sizes, and packaging arrangements. For example, the aspects, implementations, and / or use cases may come about via integrated chip implementations and other non-module-component based devices, such as end-user devices, vehicles, communication devices, computing devices, industrial equipment, retail / purchasing devices, medical devices, artificial intelligence (AI) -enabled devices, machine learning (ML) -enabled devices, etc. The aspects, implementations, and / or use cases may range from chip-level or modular components to non-modular or non-chip-level implementations, and further to aggregate, distributed, or original equipment manufacturer (OEM) devices or systems incorporating one or more techniques described herein.

[0135] Devices incorporating the aspects and features described herein may also include additional components and features for the implementation and practice of the claimed and described aspects and features. For example, transmission and reception of wireless signals necessarily includes a number of components for analog and digital purposes, such as hardware components, antennas, RF-chains, power amplifiers, modulators, buffers, processor (s) , intefieavers, adders / summers, etc. Techniques described herein may be practiced in a wide variety of devices, chip-level components, systems, distributed arrangements, aggregated or disaggregated components, end-user devices, etc., of varying configurations.

[0136] The description herein is provided to enable a person skilled in the art to practice the various aspects described herein. Various modifications to these aspects will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art, and the generic principles defined herein may be applied to other aspects. Thus, the claims are not limited to the aspects  described herein, but are to be interpreted in view of the full scope of the present disclosure consistent with the language of the claims.

[0137] Reference to an element in the singular does not mean “one and only one” unless specifically stated, but rather “one or more. ” Terms such as “if, ” “when, ” and “while” do not imply an immediate temporal relationship or reaction. That is, these phrases, e.g., “when, ” do not imply an immediate action in response to or during the occurrence of an action, but simply imply that if a condition is met then an action will occur, but without requiring a specific or immediate time constraint for the action to occur. The terms “may” , “might” , and “can” , as used in this disclosure, often carry certain connotations. For example, “may” refers to a permissible feature that may or may not occur, “might” refers to a feature that probably occurs, and “can” refers to a capability (e.g., capable of) . The phrase “For example” often carries a similar counotation to “may” and, therefore, “may” is sometimes excluded from sentences that include “for example” or other similar phrases.

[0138] Unless specifically stated otherwise, the term “some” refers to one or more. Combinations such as “at least one of A, B, or C” or “one or more of A, B, or C” include any combination of A, B, and / or C, such as A and B, A and C, B and C, or A and B and C, and may include multiples of A, multiples of B, and / or multiples of C, or may include A only, B only, or C only. Sets should be interpreted as a set of elements where the elements number one or more. Terms or articles such as “a” , “an” , and / or “the” may refer to one of an item, feature, element, etc., that the term or article precedes, or may refer to more than one of said item, feature, element, etc. that the term or article precedes. For example, the recitation “a widget” does not preclude reference to multiples of said widget, as “multiple widgets” necessarily includes “a widget” . Hence, the recitation “a widget” may be interpreted as “at least one widget” or, similarly, interpreted as “one or more widgets” .

[0139] Unless otherwise specifically indicated, ordinal terms such as “first” and “second” do not necessarily imply an order in time, sequence, numerical value, etc., but are used to distinguish between different instances of a term or phrase that follows each ordinal term.

[0140] Reference numbers, as used in the specification and figures, are sometimes cross-referenced among drawings to denote same or similar features. A feature that is exactly the same in multiple drawings may be labeled with the same reference number in the multiple drawings. A feature that is similar among the multiple drawings, but  not exactly the same, may be labeled with reference numbers that have different leading numbers but have one or more of the same trailing numbers (e.g., 206, 306, 406, etc., may refer to similar features in the drawings) . Hence, like numbers may refer to like actions.

[0141] Structural and functional equivalents to elements of the various aspects described throughout this disclosure that are known or later come to be known to those of ordinary skill in the art are expressly incorporated herein by reference and are encompassed by the claims. The words “module, ” “mechanism, ” “element, ” “device, ” and the like may not be a substitute for the word “means. ” As such, no claim element is to be construed as a means plus function unless the element is expressly recited using the phrase “means for. ” As used herein, the phrase “based on” shall not be construed as a reference to a closed set of information, one or more conditions, one or more factors, or the like. In other words, the phrase “based on A” , where “A” may be information, a condition, a factor, or the like, shall be construed as “based at least on A” unless specifically recited differently.
