Abstract
Description
[0001] FOLDING STROLLER (OPTIONS)
[0002] The invention relates to baby strollers, and more specifically to lightweight folding strollers, adapted, in particular, for use for long-distance walks, as well as during active movement.
[0003] A system configured to provide the functionality of a stroller, a bag, and a backpack for transporting a child and equipment is known from the prior art (US20140091559). The system includes a frame comprising: a right central hub rotationally attached to a right front leg, a right rear leg, and mechanically attached to a right pushing handle; a left central hub rotationally attached to a left front leg, a left rear leg, and mechanically attached to a left pushing handle; a rear lower horizontal support mechanically connected to the right rear leg and the left rear leg; a left soft belt mechanically connected to the left push handle, and a left adjustable belt, wherein the left adjustable belt is additionally mechanically connected to the left central hub;a right soft strap mechanically connected to the right handle and a right adjustable belt, wherein the right adjustable belt is further mechanically connected to the right central hub; a backrest mechanically connected to the right handle and the left handle; a seat mechanically coupled to the backrest; and an upper compartment bag attached to the backrest; wherein the right front leg, the right rear leg, the left front leg and the left rear leg can be rotated to an open position, moving the seat away from the backrest and allowing a child to sit on the seat, which allows the system to be used as a stroller; wherein the right front leg, the right rear leg, the left front leg and the left rear leg can be rotated to a closed position, moving the seat closer to the backrest, which allows the system to be carried by the left adjustable belt and the right adjustable belt and thus used as a backpack; The equipment can be placed in the top bag to use the system as a bag.
[0004] The disadvantage of the known system is its bulky design and inconvenience. The straps are attached to the push handles, meaning they are wide enough to comfortably rest on the shoulders. When folded, the stroller's width relative to the wheelbase does not decrease. The stroller does not shrink in width, which makes it uncomfortable to use on the back. Therefore, it is not intended for long-term use when folded, but only for short-term use. Furthermore, all parts of the stroller are exposed and press against the user's back when folded.
[0005] The closest to the claimed one is a stroller (RU 2599738), comprising: a right frame and a left frame, each of which comprises a front support connected rotatably to a rear support at a frame joint, wherein the front support of each frame is a telescopic tube assembly comprising: an outer tube extending from the end of the front support to the support frame joint, an inner tube assembly partially inserted into the outer tube and protruding from the outer tube, and a groove extending in the longitudinal direction along at least a section of the outer tube; a connecting device comprising at least two, essentially, rigid elements connected between the right frame and the left frame, wherein the rigid elements are connected to the front supports at a right sliding joint and a left sliding joint, and the joints are accommodated in the groove of the outer tube;and, a frame drive mechanism connected to the right or left frame, wherein the front support and the rear support of the right frame and the left frame are configured to move from an open position to a closed position by means of the drive mechanism, and wherein the transition of the stroller from the open position to the closed position causes the sliding joints to move downwards along the grooves of the outer tube. The stroller may include a storage unit in the form of a storage bag; at least one cable fixedly attached to the right frame, and at least one cable fixedly attached to the left frame; and a flexible connection for connecting the cables to the bag. The storage unit is designed in such a way that the bag remains in an extended position when the frame is moved from the open position to the closed position.
[0006] This stroller suffers from a design complexity due to the large number of structural components. Furthermore, when folded, the stroller only reduces its width, while the height adjustment via the inner and outer tubes is only minimal (when folded, it's over a meter long). This requires the user to perform numerous manipulations to fold or unfold it. Furthermore, when folded, moving the stroller requires the use of hands, and the folded stroller, which is smaller than when unfolded, is only justified for, for example, transporting it in a car.
[0007] The objective of the invention is to develop a folding stroller that is free from the aforementioned disadvantages and is characterized by a simple design, increased functionality and ease of use.
[0008] The technical result of the invention according to the first variant is achieved in that the folding stroller contains a frame 1 having the shape of a trapezoid oriented with its large base downwards, two pairs of legs with wheels 2, each of which contains a front 3 and a rear 4, legs secured to a locking half-axle 5, connecting devices, each of which contains two rigid elements 6 and 7 connected to each other with the possibility of rotation, connecting the front 3 and rear 4 legs, which are made with the possibility of movement from an open to a closed position and, accordingly, the transition of the stroller from an unfolded to a folded position by moving the locking half-axles 5, from a lower to an upper position along vertical grooves 8 made in the side elements 9 of the frame 1, and the lower and upper elements of the frame 1 are provided with ears 10 with holes located in the upper and lower parts of the side elements 9 of the frame 1,interacting with spring-loaded buttons 11 for fixing the axle shafts 5 in the lower and upper positions by means of locks 12 and, accordingly, fixing the legs in the open and open positions, wherein the frame 1 is located inside the housing 13, the configuration of which in the folded state of the stroller ensures the placement of the legs 3, 4 inside the housing 13, while in the upper end part of the first housing 13 there is a niche for placing a handle, which is provided with a retractable handle 14 of the stroller, installed inside the frame 1, to which a folding seat 15 and elements for attaching shoulder straps are also attached, wherein one of the sides of the housing 13 forms the back of the stroller, and in the lower part of the housing 13 there are niches for placing the wheels 2 in the folded state of the stroller. The housing 13 is preferably made of plastic.
[0009] The technical result of the invention according to the second variant is achieved in that the folding stroller contains a frame 1 having the shape of a trapezoid oriented with its large base downwards, two pairs of legs with wheels 2, each of which contains a front 3 and a rear 4, legs secured to a locking half-axle 5, connecting devices, each of which contains two rigid elements 6 and 7 connected to each other with the possibility of rotation, connecting the front 3 and rear 4 legs, which are made with the possibility of movement from the open to the closed position and, accordingly, the transition of the stroller from the unfolded to the folded position by moving the locking half-axles 5, from the lower to the upper position along vertical grooves 8 made in the side elements 9 of the frame 1, and the lower and upper elements of the frame 1 are provided with ears 10 with holes located in the upper and lower parts of the side elements 9 of the frame 1,interacting with spring-loaded buttons 11 for fixing the axle shafts 5 in the lower and upper positions by means of locks 12 and, accordingly, fixing the legs in the open and unfolded positions, wherein the frame 1 is located inside the housing 13, the configuration of which in the folded state of the stroller ensures the placement of the legs 3, 4 inside the housing 13, while in the upper end part of the first housing 13 there is a niche for placing a handle, with which a retractable handle 14 of the stroller is provided, installed inside the frame 1, to which a folding seat 15 and elements for attaching shoulder straps are also attached, wherein one of the sides of the housing 13 forms the back of the stroller, and its opposite side is connected to the housing 16 of the backpack, which is provided in its lower part on the side facing the housing 13,niches 17 for placing wheels 2 in the folded state of the stroller. Preferably, the body 13 and the body 16 of the backpack are connected to each other by means of screw connections and are made of plastic.
[0010] The invention is explained by drawings, where Fig. 1 shows a general view of a folding stroller, and Fig. 2 shows a section at the point where the stroller legs are fixed.
[0011] A folding stroller according to the first embodiment comprises a frame 1 having the shape of a trapezoid oriented with its large base downwards, two pairs of legs with wheels 2, each of which comprises a front 3 and a rear 4 leg, fixed on a locking half-axle 5. The width of the wheelbase of the front legs 3 is less than the width of the wheelbase of the rear legs 4. Each of the connecting devices of the stroller comprises two rigid elements 6 and 7 connected to each other with the possibility of rotation and is a device operating on the principle of scissors, made in such a way that the rigid elements 6 and 7, connected to each other on a rotating central connection, rotate when the stroller moves from the folded position to the unfolded position, bringing the ends of the rigid elements 6 and 7 closer to each other. The connecting devices connect the front 3 and rear 4 legs, which are configured to move from the open to the closed position and, accordingly, to transition the stroller from the unfolded to the folded position by moving the locking half-axles 5 from the lower to the upper position along the vertical grooves 8 formed in the side elements 9 of the frame 1. The lower and upper elements of the frame 1 are provided with ears 10 located in the upper and lower parts of the side elements 9 of the frame 1 with holes interacting with spring-loaded buttons 11 for fixing the half-axles 5 in the lower and upper position by means of locks 12 and, accordingly, fixing the legs in the open and open positions. The frame 1 is located inside the housing 13, which is preferably made of plastic. The housing 13 has such a configuration that, in the folded state of the stroller, the legs 3, 4 are placed inside the housing 13.The upper end portion of the first housing 13 contains a recess for the handle attached to the retractable handle 14 of the stroller, which is mounted within the frame 1, to which the folding seat 15 and the shoulder strap attachments are also attached. The retractable handle is foldable and equipped with a locking mechanism with a button, securing it in the folded and unfolded positions. The seat tilt angle of the stroller is limited by cables located on both sides. One side of the housing 13 serves as the backrest of the stroller. The lower portion of the housing 13 contains recesses for the wheels 2 when the stroller is folded. A footrest is provided on the front legs 3 to support the child's feet; the front wheels rotate 360 degrees, and the rear wheels are equipped with a parking brake.
[0012] In the case of the stroller according to the second embodiment, its design is similar to the first embodiment, with the difference that the frame 13 does not have niches for the wheels 2, which in this case, when the stroller is assembled, are located in niches 17, which are provided in the lower part of the backpack frame 16 on the side facing the frame 13. Moreover, the frame 13 is connected to the frame 16 by detachable connections, such as screw connections. Frame 13 and the backpack frame 16, in particular, are made of plastic.
[0013] To transport a child and unfold the stroller, press the two spring-loaded upper position buttons 11 on the top of the frame 1 and extend legs 3 and 4 fully out of the frame 13 until they reach the downward stop. This will engage the lower latch 12, locking the locking axle 5 of the folding legs in the lower position. Then, alternately extend legs 3 and 4 on each side of the stroller in opposite directions until the connecting devices are fully deployed. Place the stroller on a firm, level surface, press the retractable handle button 14, and extend it upward until its locking mechanism automatically engages.Frame 1, due to its trapezoidal shape, despite its small dimensions, when the wheelbase is unfolded, allows the legs with wheels to be unfolded to the sides to form a large area of the wheelbase, while the width of the wheelbase of the front legs 3 is less than the width of the wheelbase of the rear legs 4 by an amount that allows the stroller to be brought into a folded state, in which the rear legs are located outside in relation to the front legs, which provides good stability and control of the stroller.
[0014] If it is necessary to transport the stroller in the assembled state, to bring it into the folded position, press the button of the retractable handle 14, push it inside the housing 13 until its locking mechanism is automatically activated. Legs 3, 4, alternately on the left and right sides of the stroller, move towards each other until the connecting devices are completely folded. Then press the two lower position buttons 11 in the lower part of the housing 13 and, alternately, on each side of the stroller, push legs 3, 4 inside the housing 13 until they stop, whereupon the upper lock 12 will be activated and lock the axle shaft 5 of the legs in the upper position. The front and rear left wheels, as well as the front and rear right wheels, fold parallel and enter inside the frame along the vertical grooves 8 made in the side elements 9 of the frame 1 up to the upper fixation point. In both the first and second versions of the stroller, wheels 2 are located in recesses 17 located in either body 13 or body 16 of the backpack, respectively. Legs 3, 4, as well as handle 14 and the stroller's grip, along with frame 1, are thus concealed within its body 13, while wheels 2 are also concealed within body 13 or body 16 of the backpack, respectively, ensuring the compactness and small dimensions of the stroller when folded. The rigidly connected plastic body 13 and plastic body 16 of the backpack form a single structure and externally resemble a single backpack. The body of the 13 can have a thickness of no more than 45 mm and a weight of no more than 4 kg, and in the case of the second version of the stroller, the user has the additional ability to place and carry personal belongings directly in the backpack, both in the folded and unfolded state of the stroller, which also provides additional convenience, including, for example, when used on an airplane as carry-on luggage due to its acceptable overall dimensions.
[0015] Thus, the stroller features a compact and simple design, containing a smaller number of easy-to-manufacture parts compared to existing strollers, increasing its strength and reliability. Furthermore, the stroller is easy to use both unfolded and folded, and offers increased functionality due to the ability to carry it folded using adjustable straps on the user's back, similar to a regular backpack.
