Description

[0001] toothpaste tube

[0002] Description

[0003] The invention relates to a toothpaste tube for children according to the preamble of claim 1.

[0004] Brushing teeth is an essential part of personal hygiene. To introduce even young children to this essential aspect of hygiene at an early age, it's important that the components needed for brushing are easy to use. The containers holding toothpaste are often unwieldy for children's hands.

[0005] One technical disadvantage is that small children may find it difficult to open a typical toothpaste tube. Their strength may not be sufficient to open a toothpaste tube easily. This difficulty in opening the tube can be seen as a barrier and lead to small children foregoing brushing their teeth altogether.

[0006] Against this background, the invention aims to provide a toothpaste tube that makes handling the toothpaste tube easier for small children.

[0007] The aforementioned problem is solved by a toothpaste tube having the features according to claim 1. The dependent claims relate to advantageous embodiments of the invention.

[0008] According to the invention, a toothpaste tube with the features according to claim 1 is disclosed.

[0009] A toothpaste tube according to the preamble of claim 1 is designed, in particular, to assist small children in brushing their teeth. The toothpaste tube comprises a first body having a principal axis of extension. That is, the first body extends in a first direction to a greater extent than in a second direction, so that a principal axis of extension results in the first direction. Furthermore, the first body comprises a cavity having an opening, the opening penetrating a surface of the first body.

[0010] The toothpaste tube comprises a second body that includes a closure. The closure is designed to seal the opening of the cavity located in the first body by means of a force-fit and / or form-fit closure. Furthermore, the opening of the cavity can be closed by the closure in a form-fit manner. The closure is also designed to allow the opening of the cavity to be opened and closed manually.

[0011] The toothpaste tube also includes at least three side supports. These side supports are connected to the second body in a force-transmitting manner. This means that forces acting on the side supports are transferred to the second body. In particular, forces acting on the side supports in the circumferential direction of the cap are transferred to the second body and thus to the cap.

[0012] The closure, by its design, defines a closure axis around which, for example, the opening of the cavity is opened and closed by rotation. The closure axis is arranged, in particular coaxially, with the principal axis of extension of the first body. That is, the closure axis and the principal axis of extension preferably form a common axis.

[0013] The side stands are arranged asymmetrically or symmetrically to the shutter axis. A symmetrical arrangement is preferred. That is, with three side stands, the side stands form a threefold symmetry with respect to the shutter axis.

[0014] Furthermore, according to the invention, the side stands are spaced apart from the second body. That is, a gap is formed between each side stand and the second body, which is bridged by the force-transmitting connection between the side stand and the second body.

[0015] The force-transmitting connection between the respective side stand and the second body makes the toothpaste tube easier to open and close, especially for small children, thus reducing a barrier to brushing teeth as perceived by the children.

[0016] According to a preferred toothpaste tube, the second body has a maximum radial extent relative to the closure axis. If the second body is a body of revolution, it has an axis of rotation that is identical to the closure axis. In this case, the radial extent is a radius that varies only along the axis of rotation, and the maximum radial extent is equal to the maximum radius. For an asymmetric body, the closure axis is a reference axis, and a distance perpendicular to this reference axis is determined from a point on the surface of the second body. These distances yield a maximum distance, or maximum extent, of the second body. A radial distance of the side stands to the second body is greater than the determined maximum radial extent.

[0017] The preferred toothpaste tube, characterized by a larger radial distance between the side supports compared to the maximum radial extension of the second body, increases the torque for opening and closing the closure and further facilitates opening and closing the cavity opening, especially for small children.

[0018] According to another preferred toothpaste tube, the side stands each have a longitudinal axis. That is, each side stand extends in a first direction to a greater extent than in a second direction, resulting in a longitudinal axis in the first direction. The respective longitudinal axis is arranged such that it intersects the principal axis of extension in the mathematical sense; that is, the longitudinal axis and the principal axis of extension form a point of intersection in space and enclose an angle. Due to the asymmetrical or symmetrical arrangement of the side stands around the closure axis, the point of intersection formed by the longitudinal axis and the principal axis of extension is different or identical for each side stand. This means that, in a symmetrical arrangement, all longitudinal axes of the side stands also intersect at the same point. Even in an asymmetrical arrangement, a common point of intersection of the longitudinal axes is achievable.

[0019] The intersection point lies within the first body. This in turn means that the side stands are not parallel to each other, and that areas of the side stands facing away from the first body are spaced further apart than areas of the side stands facing the first body.

[0020] The preferred toothpaste tube, characterized by the formation of the intersection point through the longitudinal axes and the principal extension axis within the first body, has, in addition to easier opening and closing, the further advantage of a weight-saving design of the force-transmitting connections between the respective side stand and the second body.

[0021] According to another preferred toothpaste tube, the side stands have base surfaces that are oriented transversely, and in particular perpendicularly, to the closure axis. That is, each side stand has a base surface that is oriented transversely, and in particular perpendicularly, to the closure axis. The entirety of the base surfaces forms a plane that also extends transversely, and in particular perpendicularly, to the closure axis. This plane is spaced away from the second body so that it does not intersect it. Due to the space between the plane and the second body, the toothpaste tube can be stood upright on the base surfaces. Standing the toothpaste tube upright causes the toothpaste inside the tube to move by gravity toward the opening of the cavity, thus reducing the waiting time for the toothpaste to be dispensed from the tube.

[0022] The preferred toothpaste tube, characterized by its flat base, offers the additional advantage of easier opening and closing, as well as faster handling. According to another preferred toothpaste tube, the tube has four or more side supports. Four side supports increase the tube's stability, thus reducing the risk of a small child accidentally tipping it over.

[0023] The preferred toothpaste tube with the feature of four or more side stands has, in addition to easier opening and closing, the further advantage of increased stability of the toothpaste tube.

[0024] According to another preferred toothpaste tube, the toothpaste tube comprises a third body which has a second closure. Furthermore, the cavity of the first body has a second opening. The second closure arranged in the third body is designed to close the second opening of the cavity by frictional and / or form-fitting means.

[0025] The second opening of the cavity is designed to allow toothpaste to be poured into the toothpaste tube. This second opening can be located, for example, on the side of the first body. This makes refilling the toothpaste tube easier compared to refilling through the first opening. Refilling through the second opening is possible, for example, when the toothpaste tube is standing on its side stand.

[0026] The preferred toothpaste tube with the feature of the second opening in the cavity of the first body has, in addition to easier opening and closing, the further advantage of easier refilling of the toothpaste tube.

[0027] According to another preferred toothpaste tube, the main axis of extension penetrates the second opening. This results in the second opening of the cavity being located in an upper region of the first body when the toothpaste tube is standing on its side stands. Due to gravity, the toothpaste is located in the lower region of the first body at the first opening of the cavity, while an air-filled area is present at the second opening of the cavity. This facilitates refilling the toothpaste tube. In addition to easier opening and closing, the preferred toothpaste tube with the feature of the second opening penetrating the main axis of extension also offers the further advantage of improved handling.

[0028] According to another preferred toothpaste tube, the first body is part of an elongated ellipsoid of revolution. That is, the first body has a rotationally symmetrical shape with different radii along an axis of rotation. The axis of rotation of the first body is identical to its principal axis of extension. The two end faces resulting from the rotation have smaller radii than the radii between the two end faces. Furthermore, the radii along the axis of rotation are such that the first body has a radially outward-extending bulbous shape. The radially outward-extending shape of the toothpaste tube improves its handling, especially for small hands, because, for example, the larger surface area of the first body resulting from the shape allows the child's entire hand to be used to squeeze the toothpaste out of the tube.

[0029] Furthermore, the second body is a rounded cone. That is, the second body is also a solid of revolution. An axis of rotation resulting from the rotation of the second body forms a common axis with the principal axis of extension of the first body. Additionally, the tip of the second body, which is present in a cone, is rounded. A surface of the rounded cone is identical to a surface of the second body located radially outside its axis of rotation. Rounding the tip of the cone prevents injury, especially to the hands of small children, when handling the toothpaste tube.

[0030] Furthermore, the third body is a rounded cone. That is, the third body is also a solid of revolution and has a conical shape with a rounded apex. The rotational axis of the third body, resulting from the rotation, also forms a common axis with the principal axis of extension of the first body. A surface of the rounded cone is identical to a surface of the third body located radially outside its rotational axis. Rounding the apex of the cone of the third body prevents injury, particularly when refilling the toothpaste tube.

[0031] The radially outer surface of the first body, the radially outer surface of the second body, and the radially outer surface of the third body form a continuous, seamless surface. That is, the resulting surface has no edges at the transition between the first and second bodies, nor at the transition between the first and third bodies. It follows that the base of the cone of the second body has the same area as the end face of the first body facing the second body. Furthermore, it follows that the base of the cone of the third body has the same area as the end face of the first body facing the third body.Furthermore, a continuous surface transition means that the base of the cone of the second body and the end face of the first body facing the second body, as well as the base of the cone of the third body and the end face of the first body facing the third body, are each adjacent to one another. The absence of edges on the resulting continuous, seamless surface prevents injuries, especially for small children who handle the toothpaste tube carelessly.

[0032] The preferred toothpaste tube, featuring a seamlessly integrated surface, offers the additional advantage of easier opening and closing, particularly for small children. As a side benefit, it also has an educational effect, encouraging young children to brush their teeth, as the claimed embodiment can be seen as a kind of rocket.

[0033] According to another preferred toothpaste tube, the first closure of the second body is a bayonet fitting. For children who already have the strength to open a cap easily, a quicker opening of the first closure further increases their motivation to consistently continue brushing their teeth. In addition to easier opening and closing, the preferred toothpaste tube with the bayonet closure offers the further advantage of faster handling.

[0034] According to another preferred toothpaste tube design, the second closure of the third body is a bayonet fitting. Designing the second closure with a bayonet fitting is particularly time-saving for parents, who can open the second closure more quickly and thus fill the toothpaste tube more rapidly.

[0035] The preferred toothpaste tube with the feature of a second closure as a bayonet closure has, in addition to easier opening and closing, the further advantage of faster handling of the toothpaste tube.

[0036] According to another preferred toothpaste tube design, the first closure of the second body and the second closure of the third body are each bayonet fittings. Designing the first and second closures with bayonet fittings saves time for both young children and parents, as the bayonet fittings allow for quicker opening of the respective closures and thus faster use of the toothpaste tube.

[0037] The preferred toothpaste tube, featuring both a bayonet-style closure on the first and second closures, offers the additional advantage of faster handling of the toothpaste tube, in addition to easier opening and closing.

[0038] According to another preferred toothpaste tube, the first body comprises an elastic material. This elastic first body is designed to force toothpaste out of the first opening of the cavity when the first body is squeezed by hand. For example, the hand pressure can be applied to the radially outer surface of the first body, thus reducing the size of the cavity and generating a force that forces toothpaste out of the first opening. In addition to easier opening and closing, the preferred toothpaste tube with the elastic material offers the further advantage of easier handling.

[0039] According to another preferred toothpaste tube, the first body has a motor. The motor is designed to push toothpaste through the opening, or first opening, of the cavity. A motor makes it easier to squeeze the toothpaste out of the tube, especially for children who are already able to handle electrical devices.

[0040] The preferred toothpaste tube with the feature of a motor has, in addition to easier opening and closing, the further advantage of easier handling of the toothpaste tube.

[0041] According to another preferred toothpaste tube, the first body and the third body together form a rotary mechanism that allows toothpaste to be squeezed out of the tube by hand, i.e., to be forced through the opening, or rather through the first opening of the cavity of the first body. The third body is rotatably mounted relative to the first body, and a relative rotation of the third body with respect to the first body causes the cavity of the first body to be compressed, resulting in the toothpaste being dispensed from the opening, or rather from the first opening of the cavity.

[0042] The preferred toothpaste tube with the twist mechanism has the additional advantage of easier opening and closing, as well as easier handling of the toothpaste tube.

[0043] The toothpaste tube is designed as a tube with a first opening for dispensing toothpaste and a second opening for refilling toothpaste. The first opening can be opened and closed with a cap. To increase torque on the cap, it has side stands, in particular three or more side stands, so that the cap is designed like a wing nut with multiple wings – in this case, side stands. The side stands are designed to transmit force to the cap and to hold the toothpaste tube upright on a surface or similar. In the upright position, the dispensing cap is oriented such that the opening it closes is located closer to the surface than the refilling cap.

[0044] Further features, advantages and details of the invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the drawings.

[0045] Figure 1 shows a preferred embodiment of a toothpaste tube with three side stands.

[0046] Figure 2 shows another preferred embodiment of a toothpaste tube with side stands having base surfaces.

[0047] Figure 3 shows another preferred embodiment of a toothpaste tube with side stands whose longitudinal axes intersect the main extension axis.

[0048] Figure 4 shows another preferred embodiment of a toothpaste tube with a motor.

[0049] Figure 5 shows another preferred embodiment of a toothpaste tube with a rotating mechanism.

[0050] Figure 6 shows another preferred embodiment of a toothpaste tube with a second opening of the cavity.

[0051] Figure 1 shows a first embodiment of a toothpaste tube 1 according to the invention. The toothpaste tube 1 has a first body 2 and a second body 3. In the embodiment of Figure 1, the first body 2 is a body of revolution having an axis of rotation. The axis of rotation, in turn, defines a

[0052] The principal axis of extension 11 of the first body 2. The second body 3 is also a body of revolution, which has an axis of rotation. Furthermore, the second body 3 has a first shutter 8, which defines a shutter axis 12. The shutter axis 12 and the axis of rotation of the second body 3 together form a common axis. In addition, the shutter axis 12 and the principal axis of extension 11 together also form a common axis. It follows that the first body 2 and the second body 3 are coaxially aligned with each other.

[0053] The first body 2 comprises a cavity 5. The cavity 5 has a first opening 6, which is designed to dispense toothpaste from the toothpaste tube 1. The first closure 8 arranged in the second body 3 is designed to close the first opening 6 of the cavity 5 by means of a force-fit and / or form-fit closure, for example by means of a twist lock or a bayonet closure.

[0054] The toothpaste tube 1 also has side stands 10. The embodiment shown in Figure 1 has three side stands 10, with two side stands 10 being shown and a third side stand 10 being concealed by the second body 3.

[0055] The side stands 10 are each connected to the second body 3 in a force-transmitting manner. The respective force-transmitting connection between the side stand 10 and the second body 3 is specifically designed to transmit forces acting on the side stands 10 in the circumferential direction of the second body 3 to the second body 3 in order to facilitate the opening and closing of the first closure 8.

[0056] The first body 2 comprises an elastic material and, due to its abdominal shape, has a larger surface area, which allows toothpaste to be squeezed out of the toothpaste tube 1 by hand, especially by small children.

[0057] Figures 2 to 4 each show a further embodiment of a toothpaste tube 1 according to the invention. Each embodiment of the toothpaste tube 1 comprises a first body 2 forming a body of revolution and a second body 3 forming a body of revolution. The axis of rotation of the first body 2 defines a principal extension axis 11, whereas the second body 3 comprises a first closure 8, which defines a closure axis 12. The principal extension axis 11 and the closure axis 12 together form a common axis, whereby the first body 2 and the second body 3 are coaxially aligned with each other.

[0058] The first body 2 also includes a cavity 5 with a first opening 6. The first opening 6 can be securely closed by the first closure 8 located in the second body 3, for example by a twist lock or a bayonet fitting. The first body 2 further comprises an elastic material and, due to its bulbous shape, has a larger surface area, which allows toothpaste to be squeezed from the toothpaste tube 1 by hand, especially by small children.

[0059] The embodiments of the toothpaste tube 1 in Figures 2 to 4 each have four side stands 10. Two of the four side stands 10 are shown, while the other two side stands 10 are concealed by the first two. The respective side stands 10 are connected to the second body 3 in a force-transmitting manner and are designed to transmit forces acting on the side stands 10 in the circumferential direction of the second body 3 to the second body 3 in order to facilitate the opening and closing of the first closure 8.

[0060] In Figure 2, the side stands 10 have bases 14, i.e., each side stand 10 has a base 14. Each base 14 is designed such that it is perpendicular to the locking axis 12. The entirety of the bases 14 forms a plane 15, which is also perpendicular to the locking axis 12. The plane 15, which is perpendicular to the locking axis 12, is particularly advantageous when the toothpaste tube 1 is placed on a flat object, for example, a piece of furniture.

[0061] In Figure 3, each of the side stands 10 has a longitudinal axis 13. That is, the side stands 10 have a greater extension in the direction of the longitudinal axis 13 than perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 13. The side stands 10 are arranged such that the longitudinal axis 13 of each side stand 10 intersects the principal axis 11, i.e., forms an intersection point with the principal axis 11. Due to the symmetrical arrangement of the side stands 10, in particular the rotationally symmetrical arrangement in Figure 3, all longitudinal axes 13 intersect the principal axis 11 at a point that is identical for all longitudinal axes. In Figure 3, the common intersection point also lies within the first body 2.Forming the intersection point of the longitudinal axes 13 with the principal extension axis 11 within the first body 2 is particularly advantageous in the case of a weight-reducing design of the respective force-transmitting connection between the side stand 10 and the second body 3.

[0062] In Figure 4, the embodiment of the toothpaste tube 1 includes an electric motor 16. The electric motor 16 is designed to push toothpaste out of the toothpaste tube 1 through the opening 6 of the cavity 5 when the motor 16 is started.

[0063] Figure 5 shows a further embodiment of a toothpaste tube 1 according to the invention, comprising a first body 2 having a body of revolution, a second body 3 having a body of revolution, and a third body 4 having a body of revolution. The axes of rotation of the first body 2, the second body 3, and the third body 4 are arranged coaxially with each other, resulting in the first body 2 extending along the common axis or a principal axis of extension 11 of the first body 2. The first body 2 has a cavity 5 with a first opening 6, which can be closed by a closure 8 arranged in the second body 3, wherein a closure axis 12 defined by the first closure 8 is also arranged coaxially with the principal axis of extension 11. Furthermore, the toothpaste tube

[0064] One side stand 10 is mounted, each of which is connected to the second body 3 in a force-transmitting manner. The force-transmitting connection transfers forces acting in the circumferential direction of the second body 3 to the side stands 10, thus facilitating the opening and closing of the first closure 8.

[0065] In the embodiment of Figure 5, the third body 4 is opposite the first body

[0066] The first body 2 and the third body 4 together form a rotary mechanism 17, which allows the toothpaste to be squeezed out through the opening 6 of the cavity 5 by hand, especially for small children. A rotational movement of the third body 4 relative to the first body causes the two plungers, shown by way of example in Figure 5, to press on the cavity 5 and thus squeeze the toothpaste out of the toothpaste tube 1 through the first opening 6.

[0067] Figure 6 shows a further embodiment of a toothpaste tube 1 according to the invention. The embodiment of the toothpaste tube 1 in Figure 6 comprises a first body 2, a second body 3, and a third body 4. The first body 2 has a body of revolution with an axis of rotation that defines a principal extension axis 11 of the first body 2. The second body 3 also has a body of revolution with an axis of rotation. In addition, the second body 3 comprises a first closure 8, wherein the first closure 8 defines a closure axis 12. The closure axis 12 and the axis of rotation of the second body 3 together form a common axis. Furthermore, the principal extension axis 11 together with the closure axis 12 forms a common axis, so that the first body 2 and the second body 3 are coaxially aligned with each other.

[0068] The embodiment of the toothpaste tube 1 in Figure 6 comprises four side stands 10, two of which are shown and two further side stands 10 which are concealed by the side stands 10 shown. Each side stand 10 is connected to the second body 3 in a force-transmitting manner in order to transmit forces acting on the side stands 10, in particular along the circumferential direction of the second body 3, to the second body 3, thereby facilitating easier opening and closing of the first closure.

[0069] The third body 4 in the toothpaste tube 1 of Figure 6 also has a body of revolution with an axis of rotation. Furthermore, the third body 4 includes a second closure 9, which defines a closure axis. The closure axis of the second closure 9 and the axis of rotation of the third body 4 together form a common axis. In Figure 6, the closure axis of the second closure 9 and the principal axis of extension 11 of the first body 2 also form a common axis, so that the third body 4 and the first body 2 are arranged coaxially with respect to each other. The first body 2 in the toothpaste tube 1 of Figure 6 includes a cavity 5. The cavity 5 has two openings, a first opening 6 and a second opening 7. The first opening 6 is designed to dispense toothpaste from the toothpaste tube 1, whereas the second opening 7 is designed to fill toothpaste into the toothpaste tube 1.The first opening 6 can be securely closed by the first closure 8 located in the second body 3, for example by a twist lock or a bayonet fitting. The second opening 7 can be securely closed by the second closure 9 located in the third body 4, for example also by a twist lock or a bayonet fitting.

[0070] The third body 4 in Figure 6 is a cone with an outwardly curved surface for a better grip on the toothpaste tube 1. The second body 3 is a truncated cone with an outwardly curved surface to allow better support for the palms of the hands, especially for the hands of small children, when opening and closing the first closure 8.

[0071] The first body 2 is part of an elongated ellipsoid of revolution and, due to this shape, has a larger surface area. Furthermore, the first body 2 incorporates an elastic material. This larger surface area, combined with the elastic material, allows small children to squeeze toothpaste from the toothpaste tube 1 using their entire palm.
