[0003] A TRACK AND A TRACK LIGHTING SYSTEM

[0004] FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0005] The invention relates to track lighting and track lighting systems. More particularly, the invention relates to a track for a track lighting system.

[0006] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0007] Track lighting is a method of lighting where light fixtures are attached anywhere on a continuous track device which contains electrical conductors. Next to retail, this concept is now being used for other lighting applications such as homes and office. Advantages of track lighting are easier installation (click and done), portability (track heads can be relocated anywhere along the track), and adjustability (light can be directed and redirected). A recent trend in track lighting is to configure the tracks in spiral and meandering patterns matching the requirements of a lighting plan and creating outstanding lighting designs. However, in order to make such a meandering-spiralling track a large number of stock-keeping units (SKU) are needed such as different tracks and different connectors. Also, assembly of current tracks is quite bothersome and time consuming.

[0008] KR 492507 Y 1 discloses a lighting rail connector comprising a first insertion portion that may be electrically and mechanically connected to first and second lighting rails in the form of long rods. A second insertion portion may be connected to the second lighting rail in the longitudinal direction. A socket may be mechanically and electrically connected to one end of the first and second insertion portions, the socket including a rotation block that is rotatably coupled to the socket, such that the socket and the rotating block are electrically connected by a terminal connection portion. A donut-shaped first terminal plate may be installed in the socket. A circular second terminal plate may be installed in the socket and installed in a central space of the first terminal plate. First and second pressure terminals may be installed on the rotation block and elastically supported on the surface of the first and second terminal plates, respectively.

[0009] There is a desire to provide a track for a track lighting system, which track is simpler and less space consuming during transport, and which especially is simpler and 2023PF80523

[0010] 2 quicker to mount in a desired shape as well as simpler and quicker to reconfigure and to demount, both for professional installers and for any other end user.

[0011] SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0012] It is an object of the present invention to overcome this problem, and to provide a track for a track lighting system which track is simpler and less space consuming during transport, and which especially is simpler and quicker to mount in a desired shape as well as simpler and quicker to reconfigure and to demount, both for professional installers and for any other end user.

No installer is necessary since electrical and mechanical connections are already made.

[0016] Thereby, a track for a track lighting system is provided, which track is simpler and less space consuming during transport, and which track especially is simpler and quicker to mount in a desired shape as well as simpler and quicker to reconfigure and to demount, both for professional installers and for any other end user. 2023PF80523
