Description

Portable medical treatment device

[0001] The present invention relates to a portable medical treatment device used in the dental or veterinary field (dentistry).

[0002] Conventionally, in order to perform home visit dental treatment for people receiving home care, dentists, dental hygienists, assistants, and veterinarians (hereinafter referred to as dentists, etc.) carry a dedicated portable medical treatment device that houses dental treatment instruments or driving equipment such as compressors. For example, there is a home visit dental treatment device that stores treatment instruments and the like in a portable housing (see Patent Document 1).

[0003] In such a device, a lid that can be opened and closed is provided at the opening of the housing. The lid is provided with a holder (hereinafter also referred to as a hanger) that detachably supports the treatment instrument. During treatment, a treatment instrument with a hose connected to its base is attached to the holder on the upper side of the opened lid, making it easier for the dentist performing the treatment to use the treatment instrument.

[0004] Also, a portable dental unit with a detachable holder is known (see Patent Document 2). In such a device, a lid member is erected from one side of the opened case opening, and a holder is attached to the upper side of the lid member. After the treatment is completed, the treatment instrument is removed from the holder, and then the holder is removed from the upper side of the lid member and stored in the case.

[0005] JP 2013 - 233334, JP 2021 - 83749

[0006] However, in a conventional home visit dental treatment device, when withdrawing after the treatment, the lid cannot be closed with the treatment instrument attached to the holder, and the hose must be bundled so as not to interfere with the opening and closing, such as moving the treatment instrument to another holder provided in the housing.

[0007] Also, in a portable dental unit, the lid member cannot be closed and stored with the treatment instrument attached to the holder. Therefore, at the end of the treatment, the treatment instrument must be removed from the holder, stored in the case, and then the holder must be separated from the lid member and stored.

[0008] Furthermore, at the start of treatment, the holder must be attached to the top of the lid before the dental instrument is supported and set up in the holder. In both cases, the housing and lid occupy a certain amount of space in the treatment area and get in the way, making it difficult to bring the holder close to the dentist or patient. As a result, the dental instrument is far from the dentist and difficult to use during treatment, so further improvements are needed.

[0009] The present invention aims to provide a portable medical device that can be set up and taken down easily and quickly, while improving convenience during treatment.

[0010] The portable medical device of the present invention comprises a housing having a concave storage compartment with an open top, a medical instrument stored in the storage compartment, and a holder for detachably holding the medical instrument. The portable medical device also comprises an arm whose tip is connected to the holder and whose base is rotatably connected to the housing via an arm rotation axis, and a hose whose tip is connected to the medical instrument and whose base is connected to the housing. The arm is characterized in that, with the hose connected to the medical instrument held in the holder and the housing, it rotates toward the storage compartment to store the arm, holder and medical instrument in the storage compartment, and rotates toward the opposite side of the storage compartment to position the holder and medical instrument above the housing.

[0011] According to the present invention, a portable medical device is provided that improves convenience during treatment while being easy and quick to set up and take down.

[0012] This is an overall configuration diagram showing the portable medical device according to an embodiment of the present invention with the arm extended during medical treatment. This is an overall configuration diagram showing the portable medical device with the arm in an upright position. This is an overall configuration diagram showing the portable medical device with the arm stored in the housing together with the medical instruments. This is a schematic side view showing the portable medical device according to an embodiment of the present invention with the arm extended during medical treatment. This is a schematic top view illustrating the stored position and extended position of the arm in the portable medical device. This is a schematic cross-sectional view of the portable medical device along the line VI-VI in Figure 5, illustrating the state of the hose stored inside the housing when the arm is in the stored position.

[0013] Hereinafter, a portable medical device 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings as appropriate. As shown in Figure 1, the portable medical device 1 of Embodiment 1 comprises a housing 3 having a concave storage section 100 with an open top, and a plurality of medical instruments 4 to 7 stored in the storage section 100.

[0014] The portable medical device 1 also includes an arm 20, a plurality of hoses 30, a lid 9 (see Figure 3) that opens and closes the upper opening of the storage section 100, and a holder 10 that detachably holds the medical instruments 4 to 7. Of these, the housing 3 is roughly rectangular in top view and has a rectangular box shape with a predetermined height in the vertical direction. The upper opening periphery 102 of the housing 3 has a first side 103 provided on the relatively short side, and a second side 104 provided on the long side which is perpendicular to the first side 103 and longer than the first side 103. Furthermore, a third side 105 is formed on the opposite side of the first side 103, parallel to the first side 103. Also, a fourth side 106 is formed on the opposite side of the second side 104, parallel to the second side 104.

[0015] The upper opening of the storage compartment 100 is surrounded by the four sides: the first side 103, the second side 104, the third side 105, and the fourth side 106. The housing 3 of the portable medical device 1, which needs to be carried for house calls and other purposes, is preferably of a size and weight that makes it transportable. The housing 3 of this embodiment is also provided with a handle 18 or a shoulder strap. The handle 18 is used by a transporter, such as a dentist or assistant, when carrying the device.

[0016] Furthermore, as shown in Figure 3, a concave storage compartment 100 is provided on the inside of the housing 3. The storage compartment 100 includes an arm storage compartment 107 for storing the arm 20, an instrument storage compartment 108 for storing the holder 10 at the tip of the arm 20 and the medical instruments 4 to 7, and a hose storage compartment 109 for storing the hose 30.

[0017] Furthermore, the housing 3 is provided with an arm 20 for detachably holding the medical instruments 4 to 7. The arm 20 is made up of a rod-shaped body having a predetermined length. The base end 22 of the arm 20 is rotatably connected within a predetermined range of motion via an arm rotation axis 23. The arm rotation axis 23 is positioned at the height of the opening periphery 102 (see Figure 4) located in the upper part of the housing 3.

[0018] The holder 10 is rotatably connected to the tip 21 of the arm 20. In Figure 1, the medical instruments 4 to 7 each have handpieces 8a, 8b, etc. (see Figure 1) that need to be sterilized for each patient, and connecting parts that are detachably held by the holder 10 and connect each handpiece 8a, etc.

[0019] Normally, each handpiece 8a, etc., is not stored in the portable medical device while connected during visits and when packing up. Instead, sterilized handpieces 8a, etc., are stored in individual storage means (bags, etc.) for each patient at the visiting location and transported, and connected during medical treatment to prevent infection. Therefore, the medical instruments 4 to 7 used in the description in the embodiments are medical instruments of the present invention even when the detachable handpiece 8a is removed for sterilization (even if only the connection part is a medical instrument).

[0020] Furthermore, the arm 20 of the embodiment has a range of motion that extends upward from position a (approximately -10 degrees below horizontal position HL) where it is stored in the arm storage section 107. In the arm 20 of the embodiment, the range of motion α1 is set to be within the range of approximately -10 degrees to approximately 190 degrees (see position c), and preferably, the range of motion α2 is set to be within the range of approximately -10 degrees to approximately 120 degrees.

[0021] As a result, at position b, where the arm 20 is rotated to its outermost position, the upper part of the arm 20 protrudes beyond the first side edge 103 formed outside the arm rotation axis 23 within the opening periphery 102. Therefore, the arm 20 can be easily set to approach the optimal hand position for treatment by a dentist or the like at position b, where the holder 10 at its tip stops rotating.

[0022] The holder 10 has a cylindrical shape and is cantilevered to the tip 21 of the arm 20 with the holder rotation axis 24 as the center of rotation. The holder 10 is provided with a plurality of holding parts 14 to 17. In this embodiment, the holding parts 14 to 17 are provided at four equally spaced locations along the longitudinal direction of the holder 10. As shown in Figure 5, the holding parts 14 to 17 in this embodiment have the same pitch P2 as the pitch P1 of the plurality of hose connection parts 33 provided on the housing 3.

[0023] Each of the holding parts 14 to 17 has a portion cut out in the shape of a vertical groove, and each has a holding recess that has a roughly C-shaped horizontal cross-section. A hose 30 is inserted through each vertical groove, and each of the medical instruments 4 to 7 is detachably held in each holding recess. The holder 10 is not limited to a cylindrical shape, but may also be a prismatic shape, or any block shape with multiple holding parts.

[0024] These holding parts 14 to 17 are aligned in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the holder rotation axis 24 of the holder 10 and hold the respective medical instruments 4 to 7. Furthermore, the holding parts 14 to 17 are configured so that by rotating the holder 10 around the holder rotation axis 24 as the center of rotation, the tips of the medical instruments 4 to 7 can be made to protrude upward, and the base end to which the hose 30 is connected can be directed downward (see Figure 1).

[0025] As shown in Figure 2, the holder 10 is pivotally supported by a holder rotation axis 24 located at the tip 21 of the arm 20 and positioned parallel to the arm rotation axis 23. When the arm 20 is rotated upwards above the housing 3 and then raised to an upright position, the longitudinal dimensions of the arm 20 are set such that the position of the holder 10 rises to a height near the dentist's hand.

[0026] The arm rotation axis 23 or holder rotation axis 24 of the embodiment has a torque hinge structure 200, 201 that holds at any angle as long as a force exceeding a predetermined amount is not applied. This allows the medical instruments 4-7 to be held in the desired position and stopped at any angle for setting during medical treatment, and when withdrawing, the arm 20 and holder 10 can be rotated and easily moved by applying a predetermined force.

[0027] Furthermore, the arm rotation axis 23 or the holder rotation axis 24 has locking mechanisms 300, 301 (see Figure 1) that can be locked at a desired angle. By operating the locking mechanisms 300, 301 with lever members, the arm 20 or the holder 10 can be stopped at a desired angle.

[0028] Furthermore, the locking mechanisms 300 and 301 can be released by operating the lever member, allowing free rotation around the axis of the arm rotation shaft 23 or the holder rotation shaft 24. This makes it possible to rotate the arm 20 or the holder 10 to a desired angle. Thus, in this embodiment, the arm rotation shaft 23 is provided with a torque hinge structure 200 and a locking mechanism 300, while the holder rotation shaft 24 is provided with a torque hinge structure 201 and a locking mechanism 301.

[0029] Therefore, the arm rotation axis 23 and the holder rotation axis 24 can be held at any angle as long as a force exceeding a predetermined level is not applied. Furthermore, they can be locked to prevent rotation by the locking mechanisms 300 and 301 as needed. For example, the tips of the medical instruments 4 to 7 can be made to protrude upward, while the base end to which the hose 30 is connected can be fixed facing downward.

[0030] Furthermore, the hose 30 has its tip 31 connected to the medical instruments 4-7, respectively, and its base end 32 connected to the housing 3. In this embodiment, each of the base ends 32 of the multiple hoses 30 is provided with a hose connection portion 33 that is connected to the housing 3. The hose connection portion 33 is located on the upper surface of the housing 3. The hose connection portion 33 is aligned parallel to the arm rotation axis 23 and is located near the outer position of the arm rotation axis 23 when viewed from above (see Figure 5).

[0031] Furthermore, a drive source 400 is located in the center of the housing 3 shown in Figure 5. The drive source 400 includes a compressor and power control device for driving medical instruments 4, and a vacuum pump as needed. The arm storage section 107, instrument storage section 108, and hose storage section 109 are provided to surround the drive source 400 from three sides.

[0032] Furthermore, the arm 20 is configured to rotate toward the storage section 100 while the hose 30 is connected to the medical instruments 4-7 held in the holder 10 and the housing 3, to store the arm 20, holder 10 and medical instruments 4-7 in the arm storage section 107 and instrument storage section 108, respectively, and to store the hose 30 in the hose storage section 109.

[0033] The arm 20 can then rotate to the opposite side of the storage section 100 to remove the holder 10 and the medical instruments 4-7 from the upper opening of the housing 3 and position them above the housing 3. Furthermore, as shown in Figure 1, as the arm 20 rotates to the opposite side of the storage section 100, it rotates further from above the housing 3 (see Figure 2) to outside the first side edge 103. If the arm 20 rotates further in conjunction with this rotation, the holder 10 and the medical instruments 4-7 will be positioned diagonally above and outside the arm rotation axis 23.

[0034] In this embodiment, the first side 103 is formed on the outside near the arm rotation axis 23, parallel to the arm rotation axis 23. The second side 104 is provided in a direction perpendicular to the first side 103. The second side 104 is recessed in a direction that causes the arm 20 to tilt inward into the housing 3 with the arm rotation axis 23 as the center of rotation.

[0035] As shown in Figure 3, the arm 20 is housed in the arm storage section 107 of the storage section 100 with its longitudinal direction aligned with the second side 104. Furthermore, a third side 105 is formed on the opposite side of the first side 103, parallel to the first side 103. Also, a fourth side 106 is formed on the opposite side of the second side 104, parallel to the second side 104.

[0036] As shown in Figure 6, an instrument storage section 108 for storing the holder 10 and medical instruments 4-7 is recessed on the inside of the third side 105, extending to near the bottom surface 13. In the portable medical device 1 of this embodiment, the arm 20 is rotated toward the storage section 100 to store the holder 10 and medical instruments 4-7 in the instrument storage section 108. At this time, the holder 10 connected to the tip 21 of the arm 20 is rotated around the holder rotation axis 24 as the center of rotation.

[0037] The arm 20 of this embodiment is configured so that the holder rotation axis 24 can be positioned vertically at a distance h1 below the arm rotation axis 23. As a result, even if the tips of the medical instruments 4 to 7 protrude upward from the holder 10, they will fit inside the storage section 100 and will not interfere with the lid 9.

[0038] The total length L1 (omitted in the figure) of each hose 30 in this embodiment is set to be longer than the straight-line distance L2 between the hose connection part 33 and the holder 10 when the holder 10 is positioned above the housing 3, as shown in Figure 2. Note that the total length of each hose 30 does not need to be the same for all hoses 30.

[0039] Furthermore, the total length L1 of each hose in this embodiment is set to be at least twice the vertical dimension h3 from the hose connection portion 33 to the bottom surface 13 of the housing 3, as shown in Figure 4. The housing 3 in this embodiment is configured such that the vertical dimension h3 from the bottom surface 13 to the hose connection portion 33 is added to the total length of the hose 30, thereby expanding the space above the housing 3 in which the medical instruments 4 to 7 can be used.

[0040] Further, as shown in FIG. 3, a lid body 9 is detachably attached to the upper part of the housing 3 of the portable medical device 1. The lid body 9 has the same dimensions as the size of the opening periphery 102 of the upper opening of the housing 3. Further, as shown in FIG. 6, a space having a predetermined vertical dimension is recessed and formed inside the lid body 9 continuously with the upper part of the storage part 100. Thereby, in the state where the lid body 9 is closed, the arm rotation shaft 23 protruding upward is prevented from interfering with the inside of the lid body 9.

[0041] And the depth of the concave shape of the lid body 9 may be set so that the tips of the medical instruments 4 to 7 stored in the storage part 100 do not interfere with the inside of the attached lid body 9. Thereby, even if the upper parts of the stored medical instruments 4 to 7 protrude partly upward from the upper opening of the housing 3, the lid body 9 can be attached to the housing 3.

[0042] Next, the operation and effect of the portable medical device 1 of the embodiment will be described in the order of installation, setting, and withdrawal to the treatment place. In the portable medical device 1 of the embodiment, the housing 3 is carried to and installed at the medical treatment place where the patient's treatment is performed. Then, the lid body 9 shown in FIG. 3 is removed to open the upper part of the storage part 100.

[0043] Next, setting is performed as preparation for treatment. In setting, first, as shown in FIG. 2, the arm 20 is rotated to the side opposite to the storage part 100. Thereby, the arm {20} is pulled upward while rotating about the arm rotation shaft 23 as the rotation center. The holder 10 provided at the tip of the arm 20 is taken out from the instrument storage part 108 while holding the medical instruments 4 to 7.

[0044] Along with the rotation of the arm 20, a force greater than or equal to a predetermined value is applied to the torque hinge structure 200 shown in FIG. 1 by the operator. Therefore, rotation around the arm rotation shaft 23 is allowed, and the arm 20 can be rotated to a desired position. For example, as shown in FIG. 2, the arm 20 can be rotated to the side opposite to the storage part 100, and the holder 10 and the medical instruments 4 to 7 can be stopped and arranged directly above the arm rotation shaft 23 above the housing 3.

[0045] That is, when a force greater than or equal to a predetermined value is applied in the direction of rotating the arm 20, the torque hinge structure 200 can no longer hold the stopped state of the arm 20 exceeding the preset allowable value. As a result, the holder 10 can be rotated around the holder rotation axis 24. Similarly, the torque hinge structure 201 can be set in a state where the medical instrument 4 or the like held by the holder 10 protrudes upward from the holder 10 by a predetermined dimension at an upward angle.

[0046] The torque hinge structures 200 and 201 can hold the arm 20 and the holder 10 so that they do not move at an arbitrary angle unless a force greater than or equal to a predetermined value is applied. Therefore, the medical instruments 4 to 7 held by the holder 10 can be stopped at a desired position. As a result, the medical instruments 4 to 7 held by the holder 10 approach and are set at a height close to the dentist's hand, which makes them easier to use.

[0047] Also, as shown in FIG. 1, when the arm 20 is rotated, the holder 10 and the medical instruments 4 to7 can move further outward from above the housing 3. As a result, without the housing 3 interfering with the treatment space, the dentist can bring the medical instruments 4 to 7 held by the holder 10 closer to a height position near the hand, making it even easier to use.

[0048] At this time, the rotation angle positions of the arm 20 and the holder 10 can be fixed using the lock mechanisms 300 and 301 shown in FIG. 1. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the arm 20 or the holder 10 from rotating due to the weight of the medical instruments 4 to 7 or an unintended collision. Also, when the treatment is finished, the portable medical device 1 performs a withdrawal operation of storing the medical instruments 4 to7 used for the treatment in the housing 3. In the withdrawal operation, the arm 20 is rotated toward the storage unit 100 side, and the arm 20, the holder 10, and the medical instruments 4 to 7 are stored in the storage unit 100. Then, the upper part of the housing 3 can be closed with the lid 9 without interfering with the tips of the medical instruments 4 to 7.

[0049] In this way, the portable medical device 1 rotates the arm 20 around the arm rotation axis 23 in a single action while the medical instruments 4 to 7 are held in the holder 10. As a result, the medical instruments 4, etc., can be positioned as desired, and the medical instruments 4 to 7 can be stored in the housing 3 while still being held in the holder 10. Thus, a portable medical device 1 is provided that can be set up and taken down easily and quickly.

[0050] Furthermore, as shown in Figure 5, even if the arm 20 is made to a length that can be stored in the arm storage section 107 of the housing 3, the vertical dimension h3 from the hose connection section 33 to the bottom surface 13 of the housing 3, as shown in Figure 4, is added to the length of the arm 20. Therefore, the dental instruments 4 to 7 can be easily set up at approximately the height of the dentist's hand.

[0051] Furthermore, as shown in Figure 5, the hose connection portion 33 is aligned outward and parallel to the arm rotation axis 23 of the housing 3. The total length L1 of the hose 30 may also be set to be at least twice the vertical dimension h3 from the bottom surface 13 of the housing 3 to the hose connection portion 33, as shown in Figure 4. This provides practical benefits, such as improved convenience for the dentist when performing treatment using the dental instruments 4-7.

[0052] As described above, the portable medical device 1 of the present invention, as shown in Figure 1, comprises a housing 3 having a concave storage section 100 with an open top, and medical instruments 4 to 7 stored in the storage section 100. The portable medical device 1 also comprises a holder 10 for detachably holding the medical instruments 4 to 7. The portable medical device 1 also comprises an arm 20 whose tip 21 is connected to the holder 10 and whose base 22 is rotatably connected to the housing 3 via an arm rotation axis 23. The portable medical device 1 also comprises a hose 30 whose tip 31 is connected to the medical instruments 4 to 7 and whose base 32 is connected to the housing 3.

[0053] As shown in Figure 3, with the hose connected to the medical instrument held in the housing and holder, the arm 20 rotates toward the storage section 100 to store the arm 20, holder 10, and medical instruments 4-7 in the storage section 100. Alternatively, as shown in Figure 2, the arm 20 rotates toward the opposite side of the storage section 100 to position the holder 10 and medical instruments 4-7 above the housing 3.

[0054] The present invention, configured in this manner, can provide a portable medical device 1 that improves convenience during treatment while allowing for easy and quick setup and dismantling. Specifically, during treatment, as shown in Figure 2, the arm 20 can be rotated to the opposite side of the storage unit 100, allowing the holder 10 and the medical instruments 4-7 held in the holder 10 to be positioned above the housing 3. This brings the medical instruments 4-7 closer to the dentist's hand level for easy setup, improving convenience during treatment.

[0055] Furthermore, when treatment is complete, as shown in Figure 3, the arm 20 can be rotated toward the storage unit 100, allowing the arm 20, holder 10, and the medical instruments 4-7 held by the holder 10 to be stored in the storage unit 100. Therefore, the portable medical device 1 can be easily dismantled.

[0056] Thus, the portable medical device 1 allows for easy and quick setup at the start of treatment and removal at the end of treatment by holding the medical instruments 4 to 7 in the holder 10 and rotating the arm 20 around the arm rotation axis 23 in a single action. Furthermore, as shown in Figure 1, when the arm 20 is rotated to the opposite side of the storage unit 100, the holder 10 and the medical instruments 4 to 7 can be moved and positioned outside the opening periphery 102 of the storage unit 100 (see Figure 4).

[0057] Therefore, even if the housing 3 occupies a certain amount of space in the treatment area, the rotation of the arm 20 allows the treatment instruments 4-7 to be set at a position away from the housing 3, thus preventing them from interfering with treatment. For example, the treatment instruments 4-7 can be positioned to be more easily used, such as by bringing them closer to the dentist's hands.

[0058] As shown in Figure 5, the opening periphery 102 has a first side 103 formed outside the arm rotation axis 23, and a second side 104 formed in a direction perpendicular to the first side 103 and longer than the first side 103. The arm 20 is housed in the storage section 100 with its longitudinal direction aligned with the second side 104.

[0059] Therefore, the overall length of the arm 20 can be set to be greater than when it is stored along the first side 103. Thus, in the setting shown in Figure 2, where the arm 20 is rotated to the opposite side of the storage section 100, the medical instruments 4 to 7 held in the holder 10 can be positioned further above the housing 3.

[0060] In this embodiment, as shown in Figure 4, the arm rotation axis 23 is positioned at the height of the opening periphery 102 located at the upper part of the housing 3. Therefore, the holder 10 can move over an even wider range by adding the vertical dimension h3 from the hose connection portion 33 to the bottom portion 13 to the length of the arm 20.

[0061] Furthermore, the hose connection portion 33 is located near the arm rotation axis 23 and outside the arm rotation axis 23, between it and the first side edge 103. Therefore, the hose 30, which is removed from the storage portion 100 and hangs down outside the opening periphery 102, is less likely to interfere with the arm 20.

[0062] Therefore, the placement positions of the medical instruments 4 to 7 can be changed to be further above and outward from the housing 3 according to the treatment space, thereby improving ease of use. Furthermore, as shown in Figure 5, the holder 10 is rotatably supported on a holder rotation axis 24 provided at the tip 21 of the arm 20 and arranged parallel to the arm rotation axis 23.

[0063] Therefore, the twisting of the hose 30 is reduced, allowing it to be smoothly inserted into and removed from the storage section 100. Also, as shown in Figure 6, with the arm 20 rotated toward the storage section 100, the holder rotation shaft 24 is positioned below the arm rotation shaft 23.

[0064] As a result, even if the medical instruments 4 to 7 held in the holder 10 protrude upward from the holder 10, the holder 10 can be moved downward from the arm rotation axis 23, allowing the upper ends of each medical instrument 4 to 7 to be stored in the instrument storage section 108. Therefore, the medical instruments 4 to 7 can be easily stored in the storage section 100 while still being held in the holder 10.

[0065] As shown in Figure 5, a hose connection section 33 is provided where the base ends 32 of multiple hoses 30 are connected to the housing 3, and the hose connection sections 33 are aligned parallel to the arm rotation axis 23. This ensures that even when multiple medical instruments 4 to 7 are held in the holder 10, spacing is maintained between adjacent hoses 30. Therefore, the risk of the hoses 30 becoming entangled is reduced.

[0066] Furthermore, at least one of the arm rotation axis 23 or the holder rotation axis 24 has a torque hinge structure 200, 201 that holds it at any angle unless a force exceeding a predetermined amount is applied. This allows the arm 20 to be extended from the storage unit 100 and rotated during treatment by applying a force exceeding a predetermined amount toward the opposite side of the storage unit 100. Once the arm has rotated to the desired angle, it will stop with the medical instruments 4-7 held in the holder 10 at its tip, unless any force is applied.

[0067] Therefore, the dentist can position the dental instruments 4-7 in a convenient and desired location, such as within easy reach. Furthermore, when withdrawing the instruments, applying a force exceeding a predetermined level causes the arm 20 and holder 10 to rotate and move easily. As a result, the dentist can rotate the arm 20 around the arm rotation axis 23 in a single action, release their hand at the desired position, and stop it in place. Thus, convenience is further enhanced.

[0068] Furthermore, at least one of the arm rotation axis 23 or the holder rotation axis 24 has a locking mechanism 300, 301 that can be locked at a desired angle. This allows the arm 20 or holder 10 to be locked in place by locking the locking mechanism 300, 301 at a convenient angle, preventing rotation. Therefore, the dentist can further stabilize and fix the holder 10 in a desired position by using the locking mechanism 300, 301. For example, the holder 10 or arm 20 can be prevented from moving even if the dentist or assistant attaches or detaches the dental instruments 4-7 held in the holder 10, or accidentally touches them.

[0069] Furthermore, as shown in Figure 5, the portable medical device 1 is equipped with a drive source 400 located in the center of the housing 3. The storage section 100 includes an arm storage section 107 for storing the arm 20, an instrument storage section 108 for storing the holder 10 and medical instruments 4 to 7, and a hose storage section 109 for storing the hose 30. The arm storage section 107, the instrument storage section 108, and the hose storage section 109 are arranged to surround the drive source 400 from three sides.

[0070] As a result, the heavy drive source 400 is positioned in the center of the housing 3, and the housing is evenly balanced without any bias. Therefore, for example, transporters such as dentists and assistants can reduce the burden when transporting the housing 3 using the handles 18 or shoulder straps provided on the housing 3.

[0071] Furthermore, the arm storage section 107, instrument storage section 108, and hose storage section 109, which surround the drive source 400 from three sides, can be made larger in size to conform to the inside of the opening periphery 102 of the housing 3. As a result, the arm storage section 107, instrument storage section 108, and hose storage section 109 can accommodate the arm 20, holder 10, and hose 30, which are set to have relatively long overall lengths. Therefore, the range of use for the medical instruments 4 to 7 can be further expanded.

[0072] Furthermore, as shown in Figure 1, the holder 10 has holding parts 14 to 17 that hold the medical instruments 4 to 7 at the same pitch P2 as the pitch P1 of the multiple hose connection parts 33. The total length of the hose 30 is set to be longer than the straight-line distance L2 between the hose connection part 33 and the holder 10 when the holder 10 is positioned above the housing 3.

[0073] As shown in Figure 5, the pitch P2 of the holding portions 14-17 of the holder 10 is the same pitch P1 as the hose connection portion 33 of the housing 3. Therefore, as shown in Figure 2, the length of each hose 30 can be made equal for easier use. In addition, the total length of the hose 30 can be set to be longer than the straight-line distance L2 between the medical instruments 4-7 held in the holder 10 and the hose connection portion 33.

[0074] For example, as shown in Figure 1, the set hose 30 can be dropped from the hose connection part 33 to the outside of the opening periphery 102 and left to sag on the floor. Therefore, when using medical instruments 4 to 7, the hose 30 can be extended without interfering with the arm 20 or housing 3, and the length of the hose can be used effectively.

[0075] As shown in Figure 4, the total length of the hose 30 is set to be at least twice the dimension h3 from the hose connection part 33 to the bottom surface 13 of the housing 3. This allows the portable medical device 1 to have a long total length for the hose 30. For example, in this embodiment, as shown in Figure 3, the hose 30 is bent and folded and stored in the hose storage part 109. As shown in Figure 5, the hose storage part 109 is located inside the fourth side edge 106 of the housing 3 and is recessed to the vicinity of the bottom surface 13 as shown in Figure 6.

[0076] Therefore, even though the hose 30 has a long overall length, it can be folded and coiled vertically and stored compactly in the hose storage section 109. During medical treatment, the hose 30 is extended from the hose connection section 33, which is located on the top surface of the housing 3 at a high position, without coming into contact with other parts. In this way, the relatively long hose 30 allows for an expanded range of motion for the medical instruments 4-7 by effectively utilizing its length.

[0077] Therefore, the operability of medical instruments 4 to 7 is further improved, thereby enhancing convenience during treatment, and other practically beneficial effects are achieved. The present invention is not limited to the embodiments described above, and various modifications are possible. The embodiments described above are illustrative examples provided to make the present invention easier to understand, and are not necessarily limited to those having all the configurations described. Furthermore, it is possible to replace a part of the configuration of one embodiment with the configuration of another embodiment, and it is also possible to add the configuration of another embodiment to the configuration of one embodiment. In addition, it is possible to delete a part of the configuration of each embodiment, or to add or replace other configurations. Possible modifications to the above embodiments are as follows, for example.

[0078] In this embodiment, the holder 10 is provided at the tip 31 of the arm 20 and rotatably supported on a holder rotation axis 24 that is arranged parallel to the arm rotation axis 23. However, the present invention is not particularly limited thereto. For example, the holder 10 may be configured to rotate around a vertical axis provided at the tip 31 of the arm 20, that is, the holder 10 may be configured to pivot horizontally to the floor with the vertical axis as the center of rotation. In other words, the shape of the arm 20 and the holder 10, the number of holding parts 14, and other components, and the materials may be any.

[0079] Furthermore, in this embodiment, the arm rotation axis 23 or the holder rotation axis 24 is provided with torque hinge structures 200, 201 and locking mechanisms 300, 301, respectively, but it is not limited to this. For example, either the torque hinge structures 200, 201 or the locking mechanisms 300, 301 may be provided.

[0080] Furthermore, the components may be combined in any way, for example, by providing a torque hinge structure 200 on the arm rotation axis 23 and only a locking mechanism 301 on the holder rotation axis 24. In other words, the shape, structure, number, and combination of the torque hinge structures 200, 201 and the locking mechanisms 300, 301 may be configured in any way.
