[0003] The present invention relates to shipping containers, and more specifically, to containers designed for the bulk loading of unpackaged goods, with particular emphasis on perishable goods.

[0005] Currently, solid and liquid products are typically transported using sacks, boxes, or barrels. Sacks, commonly referred to as "big bags," are the most cost-effective and incur no return costs, as they are generally single-use. However, sacks exhibit minimal dimensional stability and thus offer limited protection against physical damage to the contents; they are also difficult to stack and may expose the goods to moisture damage if placed directly on the ground. Boxes provide improved dimensional stability and protection but are significantly more expensive, especially for single-use applications. Multi-use boxes occupy substantial volume when returned empty or stored, and collapsible designs often do not allow for effective sealing of the contents. Barrels offer the highest degree of dimensional protection and stability but are costly to manufacture, typically require cleaning after each use, and entail high return costs.
[0006] EP0373506A1 discloses a shipping container comprising a rigid frame and a flexible sack removably supported within the frame. The rigid frame is polygonal and includes multiple vertical posts, lower horizontal bars interconnecting the lower ends of the posts and spaced slightly above the base to accommodate forklift jaws, and upper horizontal bars interconnecting the upper ends of the posts to support the upper end of the sack in suspension, with the sack's bottom elevated above the lower horizontal bars. Notably, the horizontal bars are directly affixed to the vertical posts.

Accordingly, there exists a longstanding and unmet need for an economical, dimensionally stable, and returnable container suitable for perishable goods.
[0008] SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a set for assembling a container for transfering of perishable goods. Theset comprises: (a) four corner members, connectable to one another to form a quadrilateral load-bearing frame upon assembly; (b) four supporting legs, each connectable to a respective corner member; (c) a flexible bag, configured to be suspended within the quadrilateral load-bearing frame and adapted to receive perishable goods; and (d) a pallet, to which the supporting legs are mechanically connectable.

Various modifications, however, will be apparent to those skilled in the art, as the general principles of the present invention have been specifically defined to provide a set for assembling a container for shipping perishable goods and a method for the same.

[0050] Reference is now made to Figs, la to Id, which illustrate a set for assembling a container for shipping perishable goods. The set comprises assembly 100 (Fig. 1c) for supporting a bag for shipping perishable goods and a bag 50 (Fig. 2a). Figs, la to 1c depict the stepwise assembly of arrangement 100. Specifically, in Fig. la, corner members 10-1 and 10-2 are shown prior to interconnection by means of reinforcing tubular member 20-1, which is cooperatively insertable into passages 15 in corner members 10-1 and 10-2 (not shown). In Fig. lb, pairs of corner members 10-1 / 10-2 and 10-3 / 10-4 have already been interconnected by reinforcing tubular members 20-1 and 20-3, respectively. Similarly, pairs of corner members 10-1 / 10-2 and 10-3 / 10- 4 are interconnected by means of reinforcing tubular members 20-2 and 20-4. The connection of corner members 10-1 to 10-4 by means of male-female connectors is within the scope of the present invention.
[0051] Corner members 10-1 to 10-4 form a quadrilateral load-bearing frame 11, which is supported by supporting legs 30-1 to 30-4, each connected to a comer of frame. In some embodiments, the supporting legs are connectable to the frame and pallet. In some embodiments, the supporting legs are compatible with all sizes of over the counter (OTC) containers. As used herein, the term “over the counter” refers to structural transport units designed for storing, protecting, and moving goods in logistics chains. In Fig. 2a, the bag for perishable goods is designated as 50, formed by walls 59 having a rim 51 with suspender straps 53 and 55. For clarity, only one item of each type is numbered. It should be noted that the load borne by bag 50 is transferred to the quadrilateral load-bearing frame 11 via suspender straps 53 and 55, ensuring that the weight of goods contained in bag 50 is uniformly distributed over frame 11. The loadcarrying capacity is enhanced by reinforcing tubular members 20 embedded within frame 11. Suspender straps 53 are located at the corners of rim and are connectable to hook 35 (Fig. 2c), while suspender straps 55 are located between the corners of rim and are connectable to hooks 17 on corner members 10. Securing straps 57 at the bottom corners 54 of bag 50 are configured to encircle supporting legs 30. Securing straps 57 are equipped with hook-and-loop fasteners (not shown) at their terminals. The hook-and-loop fasteners are mutually engageable, thereby releasably securing the bottom corners 54 of bag 50 to supporting legs 30 (not shown).

[0058] Corner members 10 and supporting legs 30 may be manufactured from wood, plastic, or metal. Reinforcing tubular members 20 are preferably metallic. In one embodiment of the present invention, pallet 60 is included as part of set 100 for assembling a container for shipping perishable goods. Mounting the container on pallet 60 enhances its rigidity. Pallets 60 constructed from wood, plastic, or metal are within the scope of the invention. Such a flexible bag is capable of withstanding washing and sterilization between shipments. This technical feature enables the shipment of different, potentially incompatible, goods. Claims
CLAIMSWhat we claim is:
1. A set for assembling a container for transferring perishable goods; said set comprising: a. four corner members connectable to one another to form a quadrilateral loadbearing frame upon assembly; b. four supporting, each legs connectable to a respective corner member; c. a flexible bag, configured to be suspended within said quadrilateral load-bearing frame; and adapted to receive perishable goods; d. a pallet, to which said supporting legs are mechanically.
2. The set according to claim 1 comprising four reinforcing tubular members, each adapted to be inserted into adjacent corner members, thereby interconnecting said adjacent corner members.
3. The set according to claim 1, wherein said flexible bag equipped with a plurality of suspender straps, each securable to said four corner members when assembled into said quadrilateral load-bearing frame.
4. The set according to claim 1, wherein said four corner members, eachhaving a hooking mechanisms configured to secure said suspender straps to respective corner member.
5. The set according to claim 1, wherein said flexible bag is furnished with four securing straps located on its side walls thereof; each strap being configured to secure said flexible bag to one of said four supporting legs.
6. The set according to claim 5, wherein said securing straps are designed to encircle said supporting legs; said securing straps are equipped with mutually engageable hook-and- loop fasteners.
7. The set according to claim 1 comprising at least one plate member, said plate member being configured to cover at least one side of said container when assembled.
8. The set according to claim 1, wherein each corner member and its corresponding supporting leg are interconnected by a male-female connection.
9. The set according to claim 1 , wherein said flexible bag is washable.
10. The set according to claim 1, wherein said flexible bag is capable of being sterilized.
11. The set according to claim 1 comprising additional flexible bags for alternate use.
12. The set according to claim 1, wherein said pallet comprises four bores, each configured to receive and secure one of said four supporting legs.
13. A method for utilizing a container for transporting perishable goods; said method comprising: a. providing a set for assembling a container for transporting perishable goods; said set comprising: i. four corner members which when interconnected forma quadrilateral loadbearing frame; ii. supporting legs connectable to said corner members; iii. a flexible bag configured to be suspended within said quadrilateral loadbearing frame, and adapted to recieve perishable goods; and iv. a pallet; to which said supporting legs are mechanically connectable; b. placing said pallet on a horizontal surface; c. interconnecting said four corner members to to form said quadrilateral loadbearing frame ; d. connecting said four supporting legs to said four corner members; e. connecting said four supporting legs to said pallet; and f. suspending said flexible bag within said quadrilateral load-bearing frame.
14. The method according to claim 13 comprising steps of supplying four reinforcing tubular members and cooperatively inserting said tubular members into adjacent elongate members to interconnect them.
15. The method according to claim 13 comprising a step of securing a plurality of suspender straps to said four corner members assembled into said quadrilateral load-bearing frame.
16. The method according to claim 15, wherein said step of securing a plurality of suspender straps comprises attaching said suspender straps to hooking mechanisms configured to secure said suspender straps to said four corner members.
17. The method according to claim 15, wherein said step of securing a plurality of suspender straps comprises securing said straps to said four supporting legs.
18. The method according to claim 13 comprising steps of supplying at least one plate member configured to cover at least one side of said container when assembled and covering said at least one side of said container.
19. The method according to claim 13 comprising a step of washing said flexible bag.
20. The method according to claim 13, comprising a step of sterilizing said flexible bag.
21. The method according to claim 13 comprising a step of replacing said flexible bag in use with a replacement bag.

The method according to claim 13 comprising a step of disassembling said container for transporting perishable goods; said step of disassembling further comprising: a. removing said flexible bag from within said quadrilateral load-bearing frame; b. disconnecting said supporting legs from said pallet; c. disconnecting said supporting legs from said quadrilateral frame; d. placing said quadrilateral frame on said pallet; and e. placing said supporting legs within said quadrilateral frame.
23. The method according to claim 22 comprising a step of stacking disassembled containers oneanother.

A set for assembling a container for transporting perishable goods; said set comprising: a. a quadrilateral bearing frame; b. optionally a flexible bag configured to be suspended within said quadrilateral load-bearing frame and adapted to receive perishable goods, or a plurality of side members configured to cover side faces of said container; c. four supporting legs connectable to said corner members; d. a base member; to which said supporting legs are mechanically connectable; and e. a roof member configured to cover a top face of.
25. The set according to claim 24, wherein said side members and roof member are securable to said quadrilateral load-bearing frame.
26. The set according to claim 24, wherein said quadrilateral load-bearing frame comprises four interconnected corner members.
27. The set according to claim 24, wherein at least one of said side members and said roof member is selected from the group consisting of a flexible curtain, a rigid panel, a wire mesh, or any combination thereof.
28. The set according to claim 24 comprising four reinforcing tubular members; said four corner members are interconnected by four reinforcing tubular members, each adapted to be inserted into adjacent corner members to interconnect said adjacent corner members.

A method for utilizing a container for transporting perishable goods; said method comprising : a. providing a set for assembling a container for transporting perishable goods: said set comprising: i. a quadrilateral load-bearing frame; ii. four supporting legs connectable to said corner members; iii. a base member;to which said supporting legs are mechanically connectable; iv. optionally, a flexible bag configured to be suspended within said quadrilateral load-bearing frame and adapted to recieve perishable goods, or a plurality of side members configured to cover side faces of said container; and v. a roof member configured to cover top face of said container; b. placing said base member on a horizontal surface; c. connecting said four supporting legs to said base member; d. connecting said quadrilateral load-bearing frame to four supporting legs; e. optionally, suspending a flexible bag within said quadrilateral load-bearing frame, or covering said side faces by attaching said side members to said quadrilateral load-bearing frame; and f. mounting said roof member onto said quadrilateral load-bearing frame;30. The method according to claim 29 comprising steps of supplying four reinforcing tubular members and cooperatively inserting said tubular members into said adjacent elongate members tointerconnect them.
31. The method according to claim 29 comprising a step of securing a plurality of suspender straps to said four corner members assembled into said quadrilateral load-bearing frame.
32. The method according to claim 31, wherein said step of securing a plurality of suspender straps comprises attaching said suspender straps to hooking mechanisms configured to secure said suspender straps to said four corner members.
33. The method according to claim 31, wherein said step of securing a plurality of suspender straps comprises securing said straps to said four supporting legs.
34. The method according to claim 29 comprising a step of disassembling said container for transporting perishable goods; said step of disassembling further comprising: a. removing said roof member from said quadrilateral load-bearing frame; b. optionally, removing said flexible bag within a quadrilateral load-bearing frameand adapted to receive perishable goods, or opening side faces by disconnecting said side members from said quadrilateral bearing frame; c. disconnecting said quadrilateral load-bearing frame from said supporting legs and placing said quadrilateral load-bearing frame aside; d. disconnecting said supporting legs from said base member; e. placing said quadrilateral load-bearing frame onto said base member; and f. placing said supporting legs within said quadrilateral load-bearing frame; g. placing said roof member on said quadrilateral load-bearing frame.
35. The method according to claim 34 comprising a step of stacking disassembled containers one on another.
36. A set for assembling a container for transporting perishable goods; said set comprising: a. a base member; b. four supporting legs connectable to said base member; c. a roof member connectable to said base member; d. a plurality of side members configured to cover side faces between said base member and said roof member.
37. The set according to claim 36, wherein at least one of said members is selected from the group consisting of a flexible curtain, a rigid panel, a wire mesh, and any combination thereof.
38. A method of using a container for transporting perishable goods; said method comprising steps of: a. providing a set for assembling a container for transporting perishable goods: said set comprising: i. a base member; ii. four supporting legs connectable to said base member; iii. a roof member connectable to said base member; andiv. a plurality of side members configured to cover side faces between said base member and said roof member; b. placing said base member on a horizontal surface; c. connecting said four supporting legs to said base member; d. mounting said roof member onto said four supporting legs; e. covering side faces by connecting said side members to said quadrilateral loadbearing frame;39. The method according to claim 38 comprising a step of disassembling said container for transporting perishable goods; said step of disassembling further comprising: a. removing side faces by disconnecting said side members; b. dismounting said roof member from supporting legs; c. disconnecting said supporting legs from said base member; d. placing said roof member onto said supporting legs.
40. The method according to claim 38 comprising a step of stacking disassembled containers one on another.
