[0002] The present invention relates to a leg assembly for a seat unit, and to a seat unit including said leg assembly. Background Technology

[0003] Various movable seating units are known in the prior art, such as sofas or chairs with multi-position conversion functions. As people's living standards improve, the safety requirements for sofas and chairs are also increasing. In known designs, movable seating units typically have a mechanical extension mechanism, allowing them to switch between a sitting position, a relaxed (or TV-like) position, and a reclining position. When the seating unit switches from a sitting position to a TV-like position, the footrest extends forward, while the angle between the backrest and the seat remains essentially unchanged. When the seating unit switches from a TV-like position to a reclining position, the footrest extends further forward and upward compared to the TV-like position, and the backrest reclines significantly. During these posture changes, the outward extension of the footrest exposes internal components of the mechanical extension mechanism, such as linkages and actuators. This poses a risk of the user being pinched or foreign objects falling into the interior of the seating unit.

1. A leg assembly for a seat unit, comprising at least: a pair of leg longitudinal beams extending in a front-rear direction of the seat unit; a pair of leg slide bars slidable relative to the leg longitudinal beams in the front-rear direction of the seat unit; a leg rest plate pivotally connected to front ends of the leg slide bars, and a return device comprising a winding roller and a curtain retractably accommodated in the winding roller, wherein the return device is fixedly connected relative to the leg longitudinal beams on one hand and fixedly connected on the other hand to an inner side of the leg rest plate, wherein the leg assembly is transformable between a retracted position, in which the leg slide bars are retracted in the leg longitudinal beams and the leg rest plate is folded in front end portions of the leg longitudinal beams, and an extended position, in which the leg slide bars are extended forward from the leg longitudinal beams and the leg rest plate is unfolded forward relative to the leg longitudinal beams, wherein during transformation of the leg assembly from the retracted position to the extended position, the curtain unfolds out of the winding roller against a return force, thereby covering the leg slide bars extended forward from the leg longitudinal beams and turning the leg rest plate forward.

2. The leg assembly according to claim 1, wherein during transformation of the leg assembly from the extended position to the retracted position, the curtain is retracted into the winding roller under the action of the return force.

The leg assembly according to claim 1, wherein the leg assembly comprises a leg rest plate link pivotally connected to the front ends of the leg slide bars and fixedly connected to the leg rest plate, thereby pivotally connecting the leg rest plate to the leg slide bars about a pivot axis by means of the leg rest plate link.

4. The leg assembly according to claim 3, wherein the winding roller is fixedly connected relative to the leg longitudinal beams in position and a free end of the curtain is fixedly connected at a curtain fixing point to the inner side of the leg rest plate.

5. The leg assembly according to claim 4, wherein during transformation of the leg assembly between the retracted position and the extended position, the curtain fixing point is always located above the pivot axis.

6. The leg assembly according to claim 5, wherein in the extended position of the leg assembly, a distance between the curtain fixing point and the winding roller is smaller than a distance between the pivot axis and the winding roller.

7. The leg assembly according to claim 1, wherein a width of the curtain is not smaller than a distance between the pair of leg longitudinal beams.

8. The leg assembly according to claim 1, wherein the leg longitudinal beams comprise rails extending in the front-rear direction of the seat unit.

9. The leg assembly according to claim 1, wherein the leg longitudinal beams comprise grooves extending in the front-rear direction of the seat unit.

10. The leg assembly according to claim 1, wherein the winding roller comprises at least one winding roller fixing member and the curtain is provided at its free end with at least one curtain fixing member.

11. Leg assembly according to claim 1, characterized in that the curtain is made of a flexible material.

12. A seat unit comprising at least: a seat unit comprising a seat frame for attaching a seat part; and a leg assembly according to any of the preceding claims.

13. Seat unit according to claim 12, characterized in that the leg stringers are fixedly connected, directly or indirectly, relative to the seat frame.

14. Seat unit according to claim 13, characterized in that the return means are fixedly connected, on the one hand, to the front end of the leg stringers and, on the other hand, to the inner side of the leg rest plate.

15. Seat unit according to claim 13, characterized in that the return means are fixedly connected, on the one hand, to the bottom side of the seat frame and, on the other hand, to the inner side of the leg rest plate.
