[0020] Throughout the specification and claims, terms may have nuanced meanings suggested or implied in context beyond an explicitly stated meaning. Likewise, the phrase “in one embodiment” or “in some embodiments” as used herein does not necessarily refer to the same embodiment and the phrase “in another embodiment” or “in other embodiments” as used herein does not necessarily refer to a different embodiment. The phrase “in one implementation” or “in some implementations” as used herein does not necessarily refer to the same implementation and the phrase “in another implementation” or “in other implementations” as used herein does not necessarily refer to a different implementation. It is intended, for example, that claimed subject matter includes combinations of exemplary embodiments or implementations in whole or in part.

[0021] In general, terminology may be understood at least in part from usage in context. For example, terms, such as “and” , “or” , or “and / or, ” as used herein may include a variety of meanings that may depend at least in part upon the context in which such terms are used. Typically, “or” if used to associate a list, such as A, B or C, is intended to mean A, B, and C, here used in the inclusive sense, as well as A, B or C, here used in the exclusive sense. In addition, the term “one or more” or “at least one” as used herein, depending at least in part upon context, may be used to describe any feature, structure, or characteristic in a singular sense or may be used to describe combinations of features, structures or characteristics in a plural sense. Similarly, terms, such as “a” , “an” , or “the” , again, may be understood to convey a singular usage or to convey a plural usage, depending at least in part upon context. In addition, the term “based on” or “determined by” may be understood as not necessarily intended to convey an exclusive set of factors and may, instead, allow for existence of additional factors not necessarily expressly described, again, depending at least in part on context.

[0022] The present disclosure describes methods and devices for transmitting a transport block (TB) .

[0023] The 5th Generation mobile communication technology (5G) or further 6th Generation mobile communication technology (6G) face more and more demands. Based on the current development trend, 5G systems are developing supports on features of enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) , ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) , and massive machine-type communication (mMTC) . Optionally, Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI / ML) can be used in 5G, 6G or further wireless communication system to improve the efficiency of communication system.

[0024] In some wireless communication systems, cell may be used as a basic element and is defined as combination of downlink and optionally uplink resources. The linking between the carrier frequency of the downlink resources and the carrier frequency of the uplink resources is indicated in the system information transmitted on the downlink resources. After a radio resource control (RRC) connected, besides the primary cell (PCell) , one or multiple secondary cells (SCells) may be added / release / activated / deactivated for a user equipment (UE) .

[0025] In some implementations with carrier aggregation (CA) , two or more component carriers (CCs) , which may be regarded as physical carriers, are aggregated. A UE may simultaneously receive or transmit on one or multiple CCs.

[0026] In some implementations, multi-carrier operation may be used for utilizing a variety of spectrum resources. To accommodate the diverse spectrum needs of operators in different regions, it is important to ensure the unified, flexible, and efficient use of available spectrum. Despite broader commercial adoption for CA, fragmented spectrum resources have resulted in reduced efficiency. As a result, multiple physical carriers may be combined as a single virtualized carrier. Considering the maximum number of component carriers (CCs) in a CA combo is limited by the number and capabilities of the analog Rx / RF chains in the UEs, at least the same number of baseband processing units as single non-fragmented blocks may be applied for the fragmented blocks comprised in a single virtualized carrier. Since the channel condition and radio propagation on the fragmented physical carriers comprised in a single virtualized carrier may be different, there may be some issues / problems on how to perform the transmission on the virtualized carrier.

[0027] In some implementations, one transport block (TB) may be transmitted on one bandwidth part (BWP) in one carrier based on one modulation and coding scheme (MCS) . The  modulation scheme is indicated by a channel quality indicator (CQI) index. That is, a single physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transport block with a combination of modulation scheme, target code rate and transport block size corresponding to the CQI index. CQI report may be either wideband CQI or subband CQI which is reported for a TB. The sub-band CQI for each sub-band may be differential CQI based on the wideband CQI.

[0028] In some implementations, a power control for physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) is based on one BWP in one carrier. That is, the UE may determine the PUSCH transmission power in a PUSCH transmission occasion on an active uplink (UL) BWP of a carrier of a serving cell using parameter set configuration and PUSCH power control adjustment state.

[0029] The present disclosure describes various embodiments for transmitting a transport block (TB) , addressing at least one of the issues / problems discussed in the present disclosure, increasing efficiency of utilizing spectrum resources, increasing performance of wireless communication, and / or improving the field of telecommunication.

[0030] FIG. 1 shows a wireless communication system 100 including a wireless network node (or a wireless communication node) 118 and one or more user equipment (UE) (or a wireless communication device or terminal) 110. The wireless network node may include a network base station, which may be a nodeB (NB, e.g., a gNB, eNB, or xNB) in a mobile telecommunications context. Each of the UE may wirelessly communicate with the wireless network node via one or more radio channels 115 for downlink / uplink communication. For example, a first UE 110 may wirelessly communicate with a wireless network node 118 via a channel including a plurality of radio channels during a certain period of time. The network base station 118 may send high layer signaling to the UE 110. The high layer signaling may include configuration information for communication between the UE and the base station. In one implementation, the high layer signaling may include a radio resource control (RRC) message.

[0062] Embodiment Set I

[0063] The present disclosure describes various embodiments for transmitting a TB. In some implementations, multiple physical carriers may be combined as a single virtualized carrier, and there are multiple RB sets or RB set groups in the virtualized carrier with each RB set corresponding to one or multiple physical carrier (s) or the bandwidth of one or multiple physical carrier (s) , or corresponding to one or multiple BWP of one or multiple physical carrier (s) . In some implementations, there is no overlapped RB between any two of the multiple RB sets or RB set groups.

[0064] FIG. 5 shows a non-limiting example of an virtualized carrier. The virtualized carrier may include a RB set #1 and a RB set #2, corresponding to a Physical (PHY) carrier #1 in a band A and a PHY carrier #2 in a band B, respectively. The resource element (RE) mapping may be mapped to a FDRA set #1 and a FDRA set #2, wherein the FDRA set #1 is allocated within the RB set #1, and the FDRA set #2 is allocated within the RB set #2. Or the FDRA set #1 is derived by the intersection between the allocated FDRA and the RB set #1, and the FDRA set #2 is derived by the intersection between the allocated FDRA and the RB set #2. In some implementations, the virtualized carrier may be referred as a combined carrier, a logical carrier, a combined logical carrier, and the like.

[0065] In some implementations, one TB that is transmitted on one virtualized carrier is performed based on one MCS index, which is selected among the multiple MCS for each RB set or a group of RB sets. The MCS for each RB set or a group of RB sets may be derived based on CQI index for each RB set or a group of RB sets comprised in one CQI report. For example, the MCS with the lowest index, which gives the most reliable transmission scheme is selected; or the MCS with the highest index, which gives the highest transmission rate is selected. In some implementations, the MCS for each RB set or a group of RB sets could be for partial or all of the RB sets in the virtualized carrier, which can be predefined or configured.

[0066] In some implementations, a CQI report may include multiple CQI index for the multiple RB sets or RB set groups, with each wideband CQI corresponds to a RB set or a group of RB sets. In some implementations, the multiple CQI index for the multiple RB sets could be for partial or all of the RB sets in the virtualized carrier, which can be predefined or configured.

[0067] In some implementations, for the wideband CQI, multiple wideband CQI indexes are  reported at a time with each wideband CQI for one RB set or a group of RB sets. That is, multiple wideband CQI reports are configured with each corresponds to one RB set or a group of RB sets. In some implementations, each RB set corresponds to the bandwidth of a physical carrier or a BWP of a physical carrier.

[0068] In some implementations, for the sub-band CQI, when sub-band CQI is configured, for a RB set or a group of RB sets, multiple sub-band CQI index are reported based on its wideband CQI. The size of sub-band within a RB set may be determined based on the size of the RB set. For example, the first of two possible subband sizes is configured for all the RB sets: when the RB set#1 comprises 50 physical resource blocks (PRBs) and the RB set#2 comprises 100 PRBs, based on Table 1, the subband size in the RB set#1 is 4 PRBs and the subband size in RB set#2 is 8 PRBs. In some implementations, multiple subbands in each RB set are configured for CQI reprot.

[0069] Table 1: Configurable subband sizes

[0070] Various embodiments in the present disclosure may have one or more of the following benefits. Multiple physical carriers can be combined as a single virtualized carrier. There are multiple RB sets or RB set groups in the virtualized carrier with each RB set corresponding to the bandwidth of a physical carrier. The CQI report comprises multiple CQI index for the multiple RB sets with each CQI index corresponding to each RB set or a group of RB sets. The MCS for a TB transmitted on the virtualized carrier may be determined by selection among the multiple MCS derived based on the multiple CQI for the multiple RB sets. It is also beneficial for the transmission on a virtualized carrier based on one MCS for the consideration on higher reliability or efficiency.

[0071] Embodiment Set II

[0072] The present disclosure describes various embodiments for transmitting a TB.

[0073] In some implementations, one TB that is transmitted on one virtualized carrier is performed based on one MCS index, which is determined by unified CQI or calculation based on multiple CQI index for the multiple RB sets or RB set groups.

[0074] In some implementations, the unified CQI is derived by the UE side. The CQI reprot comprises the unified CQI, or the CQI report comprises the unified CQI and wideband CQI for each RB set or a group of RB sets. In some implementations, the unified CQI is a wideband CQI calculated based on the wideband CQI for each RB set or a group of RB sets. In some implementations, the wideband CQI for each RB set or a group of RB sets could be for partial or all of the RB sets in the virtualized carrier, which can be predefined or configured.

[0075] When a sub-band CQI is also configured to report, the sub-band CQI for each sub-band could be differential CQI based on the unified CQI, or the sub-band CQI for each sub-band of a RB set or a group of RB sets could be differential CQI based on the wideband CQI of the RB set or a group of RB sets.

[0076] In some implementations, the MCS index is derived by the gNB side. The MCS is derived by the unified CQI, or the MCS is derived by a calculation based on multiple CQI index reported by a UE for the multiple RB sets or RB set groups.

[0077] In some implementations, the unified CQI may calculated by one of following options.

[0078] For one option (Option 1) , the unified CQI or the MCS is derived by a CQI index with the spectral efficiency and / or effective channel code rate derived by multiple RB sets or RB set groups, which is the closest possible to the code rate indicated by the CQI index. Wherein the effective channel code rate derived by multiple RB sets could be the c=0, 1, ..., C-1, C is the number of RB sets or the number of groups of RB sets, Ec is the efficiency of a CQI index for RB set c or RB set group c.

[0079] For another option (Option 2) , the unified CQI or the MCS is derived by a CQI index with the spectral efficiency and / or effective channel code rate derived by multiple RB sets or RB set groups, and the number of PRB in each RB set or RB set group, which is the closest possible to the code rate indicated by the CQI index. The effective channel code rate derived by multiple RB sets could be the c=0, 1, ..., C-1, C is the number of RB sets or the number of groups of RB sets, Ec is the efficiency of a CQI index for RB set c or RB set group c, NRB, c is the number of PRB for RB set c or RB set group c.

[0080] For another option (Option 3) , the unified CQI or the MCS is derived by a CQI index with the spectral efficiency and / or effective channel code rate derived by at least one of multiple RB sets or RB set groups, the number of PRB in each RB set or RB set group, and a scaling factor, which is the closest possible to the code rate indicated by the CQI index. For example, the effective channel code rate derived by multiple RB sets could be the or c=0, 1, ..., C-1, C is the number of RB sets or the number of groups of RB sets, Ecis the efficiency of a CQI index for RB set c or RB set group c, NRB, c is the number of PRB for RB set c or RB set group c, αc is the scaling factor for RB set c or RB set group c. In some implementations, the scaling factor is predefined or configured. In some implementations, the scaling factor is related to the frequency of physical carrier corresponding to a RB set or RB set group c. For a non-limiting example, a scaling factor for RB set#1 for a physical carrier in band A is no less than a scaling factor for RB set#2 for a physical carrier in band B, wherein the frequency of band A is lower than the frequency of band B.

[0081] Table 2 include 4-bit CQI indexes and their corresponding modulations, code rates, and efficiency values.

[0082] In some implementations, as one CQI index corresponding to a modulation, a code rate and an efficiency, the efficiency in above options could be replaced by code rate. When more than one combination of transport block size and modulation scheme results in an effective channel code rate equally close to the code rate indicated by the CQI index, only the combination with the smallest of such transport block sizes is relevant.

[0083] Table 2 4-bit CQI Table

[0084] Various embodiments in the present disclosure may have one or more of the following benefits. Multiple physical carriers can be combined as a single virtualized carrier. There are multiple RB sets or RB set groups in the virtualized carrier with each RB set corresponding to the bandwidth of a physical carrier. The MCS for a TB transmitted on the virtualized carrier could be determined by unified CQI or calculation based on multiple CQI index for the multiple RB sets or RB set groups. It is also beneficial for the transmission on a virtualized carrier based on one MCS for the consideration on the tradeoff between reliability and efficiency.

[0085] Embodiment Set III

[0086] The present disclosure describes various embodiments for transmitting a TB.

[0087] In some implementations, one TB that is transmitted on one virtualized carrier is performed based on one MCS index. In some implementations, the MCS index determined by any of Embodiment Sets I and II, as descried in the present disclosure. In some implementations, the MCS index is determined by CQI index reported for the virtualized carrier regardless of RB sets or RB set groups. In some implementations, the size of subband could be one unified size for all RB sets, or independent size for different RB sets.

[0088] In some implementations, based on the MCS index above, the TB size (TBS) for the TB is determined based on a scaling of the resources for the TB transmission, which may include one of following options.

[0089] For one option (Option 1) , the scaling is based on the total number of allocated PRBs for the UE. That is, NRE=min (156, N'RE) ·nPRB, wherein,  c=0, 1, ..., C-1, C is the number of RB sets or the number of groups of RB sets, nPRB, c is the total number of allocated PRBs for the UE within a RB set c or RB set group c, βc is the scaling factor for RB set c or RB set group c. The scaling factor could be configured or predefined, or determined by  wherein Ec is the efficiency of a CQI index for RB set c or RB set group c,  is the efficiency of a CQI index for a reference RB set or RB set group cref.

[0090] In some implementations, when MCS is the best MCS with highest MCS index,   when MCS is the worst MCS with lowest MCS index,

[0091] For non-limiting examples, nPRB, c=1 in RB set#1 comprises 20 PRBs, nPRB, c=2 in RB set#2 comprises 100 PRBs, in case βc=1=1, βc=2=0.8, then nPRB = 20 + 100×0.8=100.

[0092] In some implementations, the scaling factor could be determined by wherein NRBG, c is the RBG size for RB set c or RB set group c,  is the RBG size for a reference RB set or RB set group cref. In some implementations, the scaling factor could be determined further based on the number of RB in each RB set and / or the frequency of the physical carrier corresponding to the each RB set. For example,  wherein NRB, c is the number PRB of RB set c or RB set group c.

[0093] For another option (Option 2) , the scaling may be based on the number of RE of each allocated PRB per RB set or RB set group for the UE. That is,  or wherein, c=0, 1, ..., C-1, C is the number of RB sets or the number of groups of RB sets, nPRB, c is the total number of allocated PRBs for the UE within a RB set c or RB set group c, βc is the scaling factor for RB set c or RB set group c, which can be derived as above. N′RE, c can be same or different for each RB set or RB set group. When N′RE, c is different for each RB set or RB set group,  can be different predefined or configured for each RB set or RB set group, or even to instead βc.

[0094] For another option (Option 3) , the scaling may be based on the number of RE of each allocated PRB for the UE. That is, NRE=min (156, N'RE) ·nPRB, wherein,  or c=0, 1, ..., C-1, C is the number of RB sets or the number of groups of RB sets, nPRB, c is the total number of allocated PRBs for the UE within a RB set c or RB set group c, βc is the scaling factor for RB set c or RB set group c, which can be derived as above. In some implementations,  and are same for each RB set or RB set group, or can be different predefined or configured for each RB set or RB set group.

[0095] For another option (Option 4) , the scaling may be based on the TB allocated for the UE, where the scaling factor is determined based on the RB sets in a virtualized carrier. That is, Ninfo=S·NRE·R·Qm·υ, where,  βc is the scaling factor for RB set c or RB set group c, which can be derived as above.

[0096] Various embodiments in the present disclosure may have one or more of the following benefits. Multiple physical carriers can be combined as a single virtualized carrier. There are multiple RB sets or RB set groups in the virtualized carrier with each RB set corresponding to the bandwidth of a physical carrier. The TBS of a TB transmitted on the virtualized carrier could be determined based on a scaling of the resources for the TB transmission. It is also beneficial for the  transmission on a virtualized carrier based on one MCS for the consideration on the tradeoff between reliability and efficiency.

[0097] Embodiment Set IV

[0098] The present disclosure describes various embodiments for transmitting a TB.

[0099] In some implementations, one TB that is transmitted on one virtualized carrier is performed based on one MCS index. In some implementations, the MCS index determined by any of Embodiment Sets I and II, as descried in the present disclosure. In some implementations, the MCS index is determined by CQI index reported for the virtualized carrier regardless of RB sets or RB set groups. In some implementations, the size of subband could be one unified size for all RB sets, or independent size for different RB sets or RB set groups.

[0100] In some implementations, based on the MCS index above, the frequency domain resource allocation (FDRA) for the TB is based on the scaled RB in one or multiple RB sets or RB set groups. The scaled RB of a RB set is determined by a scaling factor. The number of scaled PRB in one RB set is derived by floor (βc·NPRB, c) , wherein, c=0, 1, ..., C-1, C is the number of RB sets or the number of groups of RB sets, NPRB, c is the total number of PRBs of RB set c or RB set group c, βc is the scaling factor for RB set c or RB set group c. The scaling factor could be configured or predefined, or determined as in other embodiments. The scaling factor for different RB sets could be same or different.

[0101] For non-limiting examples, when a RB set#1 comprises 50 PRBs and a RB set#2 comprises 100 PRBs, when βc=1=1, βc=2=0.8,  Then, frequency domain resource allocation is performed based on NPRB and determine the FDRA set#1 and FDRA set#2 within each RB set respectively.

[0102] Various embodiments in the present disclosure may have one or more of the following benefits. Multiple physical carriers can be combined as a single virtualized carrier. There are multiple RB sets or RB set groups in the virtualized carrier with each RB set corresponding to the bandwidth of a physical carrier. A TB on the virtualized carrier could be allocated the scaled frequency resources in one or multiple RB sets or RB set groups for the TB transmission. It is also beneficial for the transmission on a virtualized carrier based on one MCS for the consideration on the tradeoff between reliability and efficiency.

[0103] Embodiment Set V

[0104] The present disclosure describes various embodiments for transmitting a TB.

[0105] In some implementations, one TB that is transmitted on one virtualized carrier is performed based on multiple MCS indexes, with each MCS index corresponding to one RB set or a group of RB sets or RB set groups. The MCS for a RB set or a group of RB sets can be derived based on CQI index for the RB set or the group of RB sets comprised in one CQI report. In some implementations, the size of subband could be one unified size for all RB sets, or independent size for different RB sets or RB set groups.

[0106] In some implementations, based on the multiple MCS index above, the TBS for the TB is determined based on the summation of the information derived based on each MCS index for the TB transmission.

[0107] In some implementations,  wherein, NRE, c=min (156, N'RE) ·nPRB, c , c=0, 1, ..., C-1, C is the number of RB sets or the number of groups of RB sets, nPRB, c is the total number of allocated PRBs for the UE within RB set c or RB  set group c, Rc is the target code rate for RB set c or RB set group c, Qm, c is the modulation order for RB set c or RB set group c, Rc and Qm, c are determined by one MCS index for RB set c or RB set group c of the multiple MCS index. Optionally vc is the number of layers for RB set c or RB set group c which could be same or different for all the RB sets or RB set groups. In some implementations, NRE, c=min (156, N'RE, c) ·nPRB, c, wherein,  Alternatively,  are same for different RB sets or RB set groups. Alternatively, at least one of is different for different RB sets or RB set groups, for example,  is different for different RB sets or RB set groups.

[0108] In some implementations, TBS could be derived by Ninfo above. In some implementations, the TBS could be derived by a summation of TBSc, e.g., TBS wherein TBSc could be derived by Ninfo, c which is derived by NRE, c·Rc·Qm, c·vc.

[0109] In some implementations, the TBS for a TB transmitted on multiple RB sets or RB set groups could be divided into TBS parts with each TBS part for one RB set or a group of RB sets or RB set groups, e.g., TBSc for RB set c. In some implementations, the coding and modulation could be performed for each TBS part respectively. In some implementations, the complex-valued symbols after modulation are mapped to resource elements used for the TB transmission on a channel and not used for other purposes (e.g., the associated DMRS) in increasing order of first the index in frequency domain of sub-carrier then the index in time domain of symbol within each RB set based on increasing order of the RB set index. i.e., first k then l, then RB set c or RB set group c. In some implementations, the complex-valued symbols after modulation are mapped to resource elements used for the TB transmission on a channel and not used for other purposes (e.g., the associated DMRS) in increasing order of first the index in time domain of symbol then the index in frequency domain of sub-carrier for all allocated PRB in one or multiple RB sets. i.e., first l then k for all allocated PRB in one or multiple RB sets.

[0112] Embodiment Set VI

[0113] The present disclosure describes various embodiments for transmitting a TB.

[0114] In some implementations, one TB that is transmitted on one virtualized carrier is performed based on unified power control or independent power control.

[0115] In some implementations, for the independent power control, the power control for PUSCH is based on one RB set or a group of RB sets in one virtualized carrier. That is, the UE determines the PUSCH transmission power in a PUSCH transmission occasion on one RB set of an active UL BWP of a carrier of a serving cell, or on one RB set of a carrier of a serving cell using parameter set configuration and PUSCH power control adjustment state.

[0116] In some implementations, for the unified power control, the power control for PUSCH is applied for all the allocated resources on one or multiple RB sets or RB set groups in one virtualized carrier. The UE determines the PUSCH transmission power in a PUSCH transmission occasion on an active UL BWP of a carrier of a serving cell, or on a carrier of a serving cell using parameter set configuration and PUSCH power control adjustment state. In some implementations, independent amplitude scaling or radio-frequency filtering for each RB set or each group of RB sets can be applied.

[0117] In some implementations, for the independent amplitude scaling for each RB set or each group of RB sets, independent amplitude scaling factor βPUSCH, c or amplitude precodeing matrix Wc can be applied for RB set c or a group of RB set c. In some implementations, βPUSCH, c or Wc  can be predefined or configured for RB set c or a group of RB set c. In some implementations, amplitude scaling factor βPUSCH, c+1 can be derived by a ratio of RB set c EPRE to RB set c+1 EPRE [dB] , or a ratio of RB set c+1 EPRE to RB set c EPRE [dB] . For a non-limiting example,  wherein the ratio of RB set c EPRE to RB set c+1 EPRE (βRBset [dB] ) can be predefined or configured.

[0118] In some implementations, for the independent radio-frequency filtering for each RB set or each group of RB sets, independent radio-frequency filter can be applied for RB set c or RB set group c.

[0119] Various embodiments in the present disclosure may have one or more of the following benefits. Multiple physical carriers can be combined as a single virtualized carrier. There are multiple RB sets or RB set groups in the virtualized carrier with each RB set corresponding to the bandwidth of a physical carrier. The TB transmitted on the virtualized carrier could be performed based on unified power control or independent power control. It is also beneficial for the transmission on a virtualized carrier with multiple RB sets or RB set groups for the reduction on the power difference among different spectrum resources.

[0120] Embodiment Set VII

[0121] The present disclosure describes various embodiments for transmitting a TB.

[0122] In some implementations, one TB that is transmitted on one or multiple RB sets or RB set groups on one virtualized carrier is based on one or multiple MCS indexes, like in other embodiments. In some implementations, the size of subband could be one unified size for all RB sets, or independent size for different RB sets or RB set groups. The following can be applied for the virtualized carrier with multiple RB sets or RB set groups, which may be combined with any  one or multiple of other embodiments.

[0123] In some implementations, one active BWP comprising one or multiple RB sets or RB set groups is allowed for the virtualized carrier. One RB set corresponds to a physical carrier or the bandwidth of a physical carrier, or corresponding to one or multiple BWP of a physical carrier. FDRA for the TB transmitted on the virtualized carrier is indicated in a range of PRBs of all the RB sets in the active BWP, optionally based on the scaled RB in one or multiple RB sets. That is, FDRA within a RB set or a group of RB sets can be derived by intersection between the FDRA and the RB set or RB set group. For example, the PRBs allocated by a FDRA are located in two RB sets, RB set c and RB set c+2, then FDRA set 0 comprises the PRBs derived by the intersection between the FDRA and the RB set c, FDRA set 1 comprises the PRBs derived by the intersection between the FDRA and the RB set c+2. In some implementations, the RRC parameters for physical channel or signal transmission can be configured per RB set or RB set group. In some implementations, the RRC parameters for physical channel or signal transmission can be configured per BWP with partial parameters further configured per RB set or RB set group, e.g., the number of PRBs, subband size for CSI report, RBG size, scaling factor, overhead. BWP reconfiguration, or BWP switching can be applied for the virtualized carrier, e.g., in case the bandwidth of a virtualized carrier shall be changed.

[0124] In some implementations, multiple active BWPs with each one corresponding to one RB set or a group of RB sets is allowed for the virtualized carrier. One RB set corresponds to a physical carrier or the bandwidth of a physical carrier, or corresponding to one or multiple BWP of a physical carrier. FDRA for the TB transmitted on the virtualized carrier is indicated in a range of PRBs of all the RB sets in all the active BWPs, optionally based on the scaled RB in one or multiple RB sets. That is, FDRA within a RB set or RB set group can be derived by intersection between the FDRA and the RB set or RB set group. In some implementations, the frequency resources of the multiple acitve BWPs are not overlapped. In some implementations, the SCS of the multiple acitve BWPs are same. In some implementations, the RRC parameters for physical channel or signal transmission can be configured per carrier or BWP or RB set or RB set group. In some implementations, the RRC parameters for physical channel or signal transmission can be configured per BWP with partial parameters further configured per RB set or RB set group, e.g., the number of PRBs, subband size for CSI report, RBG size, scaling factor, overhead. In some  implementations, the RRC parameters for physical channel or signal transmission can be configured per carrier with partial parameters further configured per BWP. BWP reconfiguration, or BWP switching / dormancy indication, or BWP activation / deactivation can be applied for the virtualized carrier, e.g., in case the bandwidth of a virtualized carrier shall be changed.

[0125] The present disclosure describes methods, apparatus, and computer-readable medium for transmitting a TB. The present disclosure addressed the issues with transmitting a TB via combined carriers in a wireless communication system. The methods, devices, and computer-readable medium described in the present disclosure may facilitate the performance of carrier based communication, thus improving efficiency and overall performance. The methods, devices, and computer-readable medium described in the present disclosure may improves the overall efficiency of the wireless communication systems.

[0126] In various embodiments, multiple physical carriers can be combined as a single virtualized carrier, there are multiple RB sets or RB set groups in the virtualized carrier with one RB set corresponding to one or multiple physical carrier (s) .

[0127] In various embodiments, one TB transmitted on one virtualized carrier is performed based on one MCS index, which is selected among the multiple MCS for each RB set or RB set group. For wideband CQI, multiple wideband CQI index are reported at a time with each wideband CQI for one RB set or RB set group. For sub-band CQI, in case sub-band CQI is configured, for a RB set or RB set group, multiple sub-band CQI index are reported based on its wideband CQI. The size of sub-band within a RB set or RB set group is determined based on the size of the RB set or RB set group.

[0128] In various embodiments, one TB transmitted on one virtualized carrier is performed based on one MCS index, which is determined by unified CQI or calculation based on multiple CQI index for the multiple RB sets or RB set groups. Wherein, the unified CQI is a wideband CQI calculated based on the wideband CQI for each RB set or RB set group. The unified CQI or the MCS is derived by a CQI index with the spectral efficiency and / or effective channel code rate derived by multiple RB sets or RB set groups, or by multiple RB sets or RB set groups and the number of PRB in each RB set or RB set group, or by at least one of multiple RB sets or RB set group, the number of PRB in each RB set or RB set group, and a scaling factor, which is the closest  possible to the code rate indicated by the CQI index.

[0129] In various embodiments, based on a MCS index, a TBS for a TB is determined based on a scaling of the resources for the TB transmission. One of following options may be used. Option 1: scaling based on the total number of allocated PRBs for the UE. Option 2: scaling based on the number of RE of each allocated PRB per RB set or RB set group for the UE. Option 3: scaling based on the number of RE of each allocated PRB for the UE. Option 4: scaling based on the TB allocated for the UE, where the scaling factor is determined based on the RB sets or RB set groups in a virtualized carrier.

[0130] In various embodiments, based on the MCS index above, the frequency domain resource allocation (FDRA) for the TB is based on the scaled RB in one or multiple RB sets or RB set groups.

[0131] In various embodiments, one TB transmitted on one virtualized carrier is performed based on multiple MCS index, with each MCS index corresponding to one RB set or RB set group. The TBS for the TB is determined based on the summation of the information derived based on each MCS index for the TB transmission. Optionally, the complex-valued symbols after modulation are mapped to resource elements used for the TB transmission in increasing order of first the index in frequency domain of sub-carrier then the index in time domain of symbol within each RB set or RB set group based on increasing order of the RB set index or RB set group index, or in increasing order of first the index in time domain of symbol then the index in frequency domain of sub-carrier for all allocated PRB in one or multiple RB sets or RB set groups.

[0132] In various embodiments, independent amplitude scaling or radio-frequency filtering for each RB set or each group of RB sets can be applied.

[0133] In various embodiments, FDRA for the TB transmitted on the virtualized carrier is indicated in a range of PRBs of all the RB sets in one active BWP or multiple active BWPs, optionally based on the scaled RB in one or multiple RB sets. That is, FDRA within a RB set or RB set group can be derived by intersection between the FDRA and the RB set or RB set group.

[0134] In some other embodiments, a computer-readable medium comprising instructions which, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to carry out a portion or all of the above  methods. The computer-readable medium may be referred as non-transitory computer-readable media (CRM) that stores data for extended periods such as a flash drive or compact disk (CD) , or for short periods in the presence of power such as a memory device or random access memory (RAM) . In some embodiments, computer-readable instructions may be included in a software, which is embodied in one or more tangible, non-transitory, computer-readable media. Such non-transitory computer-readable media can be media associated with user-accessible mass storage as well as certain short-duration storage that are of non-transitory nature, such as internal mass storage or ROM. The software implementing various embodiments of the present disclosure can be stored in such devices and executed by a processor (or processing circuitry) . A computer-readable medium can include one or more memory devices or chips, according to particular needs. The software can cause the processor (including CPU, GPU, FPGA, and the like) to execute particular processes or particular parts of particular processes described herein, including defining data structures stored in RAM and modifying such data structures according to the processes defined by the software. In various embodiments in the present disclosure, the term “processor” may mean one processor that performs the defined functions, steps, or operations or a plurality of processors that collectively perform defined functions, steps, or operations, such that the execution of the individual defined functions may be divided amongst such plurality of processors.

[0135] Reference throughout this specification to features, advantages, or similar language does not imply that all of the features and advantages that may be realized with the present solution should be or are included in any single implementation thereof. Rather, language referring to the features and advantages is understood to mean that a specific feature, advantage, or characteristic described in connection with an embodiment is included in at least one embodiment of the present solution. Thus, discussions of the features and advantages, and similar language, throughout the specification may, but do not necessarily, refer to the same embodiment.
