Abstract

The present disclosure provides methods and apparatuses for signal transmission. In the method, an energy transmitter (ET) sequentially transmits a training signal over frequency sub-bands with a same transmit power, and an energy receiver (ER) transmits first information to the ET based on a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) of the training signal over the frequency sub-bands, the first information being used for indicating a frequency sub-band with a highest RSSI among the frequency sub-bands, thereby reducing feedback overhead from the ER to the ET. The ET transmits a first multi-carrier power signal using a waveform parameter, which may improve the efficiency of wireless power transmission and enable the ER to accept the first multi-carrier power signal. Therefore, the ER does not need to estimate channel state information between the ET and the ER. Thus, it is applicable to the ER with energy restrictions and hardware limitations.

Description

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SIGNAL TRANSMISSIONTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present disclosure relates to the field of optical communication technologies, and in particular, to methods and apparatuses for signal transmission.BACKGROUND

[0002] With the development of communication technology, there are more and more kinds of terminal equipments, and the environmental power supply communication system have emerged. The environmental power supply communication system can use the environmental energy to power the terminal equipments to realize the normal operation of the Internet of things (IoT) . For example, some IoT devices may not require traditional power supply.

[0003] The environmental power supply communication system can also be called wireless power communication system. A side (e.g., access point (AP) or next Generation Node B (gNB) ) providing energy to the terminal equipments may be called an energy transmitter (ET) , and a side (e.g., station (STA) , user equipment (UE) , radio frequency identification (RFID) tag, backscatter device, or low-cost IoT sensor) acquiring energy may be called an energy receiver (ER) . The ET transmits a RF signal, and the ER acquires energy carried by the RF signal and convert it into electric energy, thereby realizing the wireless power transmission (WPT) from the ET to the ER.

[0004] In order to improve the efficiency of the WPT from the ET to the ER, how to design the waveform of the RF signal transmitted by the ET is crucial. At present, the channel estimation is usually performed by the ER, the channel state information (CSI) between the ET and the ER is fed back to the ET, and then the ET designs the waveform of the RF signal according to the CSI. This process involves complex signal processing, resulting in strict energy and hardware restrictions on the ER and high feedback overhead from the ER to the ET.SUMMARY

[0005] The present disclosure provides methods and apparatuses for signal transmission, which can simplify the waveform design process of the RF signal, reduce the energy restrictions and hardware limitations on the ER, and reduce the feedback overhead from the ER to the ET.

[0006] To achieve the above-mentioned purposes, the embodiments of the present disclosure adopt the following technical solutions.

[0007] In a first aspect, a method for signal transmission is provided, which can be performed by an ET or by a component in the ET, such as a processor, a chip, or a chip system in the ET.

[0008] The method includes: sequentially transmitting a training signal over a plurality of frequency sub-bands with a same transmit power; receiving first information, the first information being used for indicating a frequency sub-band with a highest received signal strength indicator (RSSI) among the plurality of frequency sub-bands; determining a waveform parameter of a first multi-carrier power signal based on the first information, the first multi-carrier power signal being used for providing energy; and transmitting the first multi-carrier power signal using the waveform parameter.

[0009] Based on this, in the method provided in the embodiments of the present disclosure, the ET sequentially transmits the training signal over the plurality of frequency sub-bands with the same transmit power; the ER transmits the first information to the ET based on the RSSI of the training signal over the plurality of frequency sub-bands, the first information being used for indicating the frequency sub-band with the highest RSSI among the plurality of frequency sub-bands. Therefore, the ET determines the waveform parameter of the RF signal based on the frequency sub-band with better communication performance, and transmits the first multi-carrier power signal to the ER using the waveform parameter. In this way, the wireless power transmission efficiency is improved without the need for the ER to perform channel estimation. Thus, the waveform design process of the RF signal is simplified, and the energy constraints and hardware limitations to the ER are reduced. In addition, the feedback overhead from the ER to the ET is reduced.

[0010] In some possible implementations, available bandwidths of two adjacent frequency sub-bands among the plurality of frequency sub-bands partially overlap.

[0011] Based on this, the sub-bands with higher bandwidth may be predicted to meet the accuracy requirements, which  may improve the training efficiency and reduce the signaling overhead.

[0012] In some possible implementations, the plurality of frequency sub-bands include a first group of frequency sub-bands and a second group of frequency sub-bands; the first group of frequency sub-bands includes two adjacent first frequency sub-bands; the second group of frequency sub-bands includes two adjacent second frequency sub-bands; and a frequency gap between the two adjacent first frequency sub-bands is the same as a frequency gap between the two adjacent second frequency sub-bands.

[0013] Based on this, it may be possible to simplify the division process and reduce the processing complexity of the ET.

[0014] In some possible implementations, the training signal is a single carrier power signal; or the training signal is a second multi-carrier power signal that includes a plurality of subcarriers, and the second multi-carrier power signal has same amplitude and same phase over the plurality of subcarriers.

[0015] Based on this, it may ensure the reliability of the RSSIs of the frequency sub-bands measured by the ER after receiving the training signal.

[0016] In some possible implementations, the first multi-carrier power signal has same amplitude and / or phase over a plurality of subcarriers comprised in first multi-carrier power signal.

[0017] Based on this, the power transmission effect may be improved.

[0018] In some possible implementations, the waveform parameter of the first multi-carrier power signal includes at least one of: a central frequency of the first multi-carrier power signal; a quantity of subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal; an amplitude over the subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal; or a phase over the subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal.

[0019] In some possible implementations, the central frequency of the first multi-carrier power signal is a central frequency of the frequency sub-band with the highest RSSI. Based on this, the efficiency of wireless power transmission may be improved.

[0020] In some possible implementations, the quantity of subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal is greater than or equal to a quantity of subcarriers of the frequency sub-band with the highest RSSI.

[0021] In some possible implementations, the amplitude over the subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal is determined based on the transmit power and the quantity of subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal.

[0022] In a second aspect, a method for signal transmission is provided, which can be performed by an ER or by a component in the ER, such as a processor, a chip, or a chip system in the ER.

[0023] The method includes sequentially receiving a training signal over a plurality of frequency sub-bands; and transmitting first information based on a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) of the training signal over a plurality of frequency sub-bands, the first information being used for indicating a frequency sub-band with a highest RSSI among the plurality of frequency sub-bands.

[0024] In some possible implementations, the method further includes receiving a first multi-carrier power signal, the first multi-carrier power signal being used for providing energy.

[0025] In some possible implementations, available bandwidths of two adjacent frequency sub-bands among the plurality of frequency sub-bands partially overlap.

[0026] In some possible implementations, the plurality of frequency sub-bands include a first group of frequency sub-bands and a second group of frequency sub-bands; the first group of frequency sub-bands includes two adjacent first frequency sub-bands; the second group of frequency sub-bands includes two adjacent second frequency sub-bands; and a frequency gap between the two adjacent first frequency sub-bands is the same as a frequency gap between the two adjacent second frequency sub-bands.

[0027] In some possible implementations, the training signal is a single carrier power signal; or the training signal is a second multi-carrier power signal that includes a plurality of subcarriers, and the second multi-carrier power signal has same amplitude and same phase over the plurality of subcarriers.

[0028] In some possible implementations, the first multi-carrier power signal has same amplitude and / or phase over a plurality of subcarriers comprised in first multi-carrier power signal.

[0029] In some possible implementations, the waveform parameter of the first multi-carrier power signal includes at  least one of: a central frequency of the first multi-carrier power signal; a quantity of subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal; an amplitude over the subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal; or a phase over the subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal.

[0030] In some possible implementations, the central frequency of the first multi-carrier power signal is a central frequency of the frequency sub-band with the highest RSSI.

[0031] In some possible implementations, the quantity of subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal is greater than or equal to a quantity of subcarriers of the frequency sub-band with the highest RSSI.

[0032] In some possible implementations, the amplitude over the subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal is determined based on the transmit power and the quantity of subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal.

[0055] In the embodiments of the present disclosure, the ET may be any device with wireless transceiver function, and it includes, but is not limited to, evolved NodeB (eNB) , adio network controller (RNC) , node B (NodeB, NB) , base station controller (BSC) , base transceiver station (BTS) , home base station (e.g., home evolved NodeB, or home NodeB, HNB) , baseband unit (BBU) , access point (AP) in WiFi system, wireless relay node, wireless backhaul node, transmission point (TP) , or transmission and reception point (TRP) , etc. It may also be 5G base station (gNB or transmission point (TRP or TP) ) in the 5G (e.g. NR) system, or one antenna panel or a group of antenna panels of a base station in a 5G system; or it may also be a network node that constitutes a gNB or TP, such as a BBU or a distributed unit (DU) .

[0056] In some deployments, the gNB may include a centralized unit (CU) and DU. The gNB may also include an active antenna unit (AAU) . The CU implements part of the functions of the gNB, and the DU implements part of the functions of the gNB. For example, the CU is responsible for dealing with non-real-time protocols and services, such as radio resource control (RRC) layer, service data adaptation protocol (SDAP) layer and / or packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer.  The DU may handle physical layer protocols and real-time services, such as functions of radio link control (RLC) layer, media access control (MAC) layer and physical (PHY) layer. One DU may be connected to one CU or to multiple CUs, and one CU may be connected to multiple DU. The CU and the DU may communicate through an F1 interface. The AAU may realize some functions of PHY layer processing, RF processing and active antenna. The information of the RRC layer will eventually be submitted to the PHY layer to become the information of the PHY layer, or transformed from the information of the PHY layer. Thus, in this case, high-level signaling (e.g. RRC layer signaling) can also be considered to be transmitted by the DU, or by both DU and AAU.

[0057] In the embodiments of the present disclosure, the ER may be any terminal equipment that collects electrical energy through a wireless power source, and includes, but is not limited to, a user equipment (UE) , access terminal, subscriber unit, station (STA) , subscriber station, mobile station, remote station, remote terminal, mobile device, user terminal, terminal, wireless communication device, user agent, user device, radio frequency identification (RFID) tag, backscatter device, Internet of things (IoT) sensor, etc.

[0058] The terminal equipment may be an equipment that provides voice / data connectivity to users, such as a handheld device with wireless connection function, a vehicle device, etc. At present, some terminals may be: mobile phones, tablet computers (pads) , computers with wireless transceiver functions (e.g. notebook computers, handheld computers, etc. ) , mobile Internet devices (MIDs) , virtual reality (VR) devices, augmented reality (AR) devices, wireless terminals in industrial control, wireless terminals in self-driving, wireless terminals in remote medical, wireless terminals in smart grid, wireless terminals in transportation safety, wireless terminals in smart city, wireless terminals in smart home, cellular phones, cordless phones, session initiation protocol (SIP) phones, wireless local loop (WLL) stations, personal digital assistants (PDAs) , handheld devices with wireless communication capabilities, computing devices or other processing devices connected to wireless modems, vehicle devices, wearable devices, terminal devices in 5G networks or future evolving public land mobile networks (PLMNs) , etc.

[0059] The wearable devices may also be called wearable smart devices, which apply wearable technology to intelligently design and develop wearable devices, such as glasses, gloves, watches, clothing and shoes. The wearable device is a portable device that is worn directly on the body or integrated into the user's clothing or accessories. The wearable device is not only a kind of hardware device, but also can achieve powerful functions through software support, data interaction and cloud interaction. Generalized wearable smart devices include full-featured and large-sized devices (such as smartwatches or smart glasses) that do not rely on smartphones to achieve full or partial functions, and devices (such as all kinds of smart bracelets and smart jewelry for physical sign monitoring) that focus on only one type of application functions and need to be used with other devices.

[0060] In addition, the terminal equipment may also be a terminal equipment in the IoT system. IoT is an important part of the development of information technology in the future. Its main technical feature is to connect goods with the network through communication technology, so as to realize the intelligent network of man-machine interconnection and material interconnection. The IoT technology can realize massive connectivity, deep coverage and terminal power saving through narrow band (NB) technology.

[0061] In the embodiments of the present disclosure, the ER or ET includes a hardware layer, an operating system layer running on the hardware layer, and an application layer running on the operating system layer. The hardware layer includes hardware such as central processing unit (CPU) , memory management unit (MMU) , and memory (also known as main memory) . The operating system may be any one or more computer operating systems that realize business process through processes, such as Linux operating system, Unix operating system, Android operating system, iOS operating system, or windows operating system. The application layer includes browser, address book, word processing software, instant messaging software and other applications. However, the embodiments of the present disclosure do not specifically limit the structure of the entity for executing the method provided in the embodiments of the present disclosure, as long as it is possible to realize communication according to the method provided in the embodiments by running a program that records codes of the method provided in the embodiments of the present disclosure. For example, the entity for executing the method provided in the embodiments of the present disclosure may be an ER or ET, or a functional module in an ER or ET that can call and execute the program.

[0062] In addition, various aspects or features of the present disclosure may be implemented as methods, devices, or  products using standard programming and / or engineering techniques. The term "product" used in the present disclosure contains a computer program accessible from any computer-readable device, carrier or medium. For example, the computer-readable storage medium may include, but is not limited to, a magnetic storage device (e.g. a hard disk, a floppy disk, or a magnetic tape) , an optical disk (e.g. a compact disk (CD) or a digital versatile disk (DVD) ) , a smart card or a flash memory device (e.g. an erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) , a card, a stick, or a key driver) . The various computer-readable storage media described in the present disclosure may represent one or more devices for storing information and / or other machine-readable storage media for storing information. The term "machine-readable storage medium" includes, but is not limited to, wireless channels and various other media capable of storing, containing, and / or carrying instructions and / or data.

[0063] In the above wireless power communication system, in order to provide the efficiency of the WPT from the ET to the ER, how to design the waveform of the RF signal transmited by the ET is crucial. Waveforms with high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) , e.g. orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and multiple-sine signals in the non-orthogonal multiple access technology, can increase the efficiency of the WPT.

[0064] At present, the ER usually performs channel estimation, the CSI between the ET and the ER is fed back to the ET, and then the ET designs the waveform of the RF signal according to the CSI. For example, the ET designs the power waveform of the RF signal based on a plurality of sub-carriers. However, the coherent addition of the signals transmitted over multiple subcarriers at the ER depends on the availability of CSI. The ER needs to perform channel estimation and feeds back the obtained CSI to the ET. The channel estimation process involves analog to digital conversion and sophisticated signal processing, which require significant energy. In addition, the channel estimation has tight energy constraints and hardware limitations (the ER requires analog to digital converter) . Therefore, the channel estimation process may become infeasible at some ERs (e.g., RFID tags, backscatter devices, low-cost IoT sensors) . Moreover, feeding-back full CSI from the ER to ET requires significant energy.

[0065] In light of this, the embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for signal transmission. In the method, the ET sequentially transmits a training signal over a plurality of frequency sub-bands with a same transmit power; the ER transmits first information to the ET based on a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) of the training signal over the plurality of frequency sub-bands, the first information being used for indicating a frequency sub-band with a highest RSSI among the plurality of frequency sub-bands. Therefore, the ET determines a waveform parameter of a RF signal based on a frequency sub-band with better communication performance, and transmits the RF signal based on the waveform parameter.

[0066] The method for signal transmission provided in the embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to FIGS. 2 to 6.

[0067] It will be noted that the name of information between the devices or the names of the parameters in the information in the following embodiments are merely examples, and they may also be other names in the practical implementations, which will not be specifically limited in the embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0068] It will be understood that in the embodiments of the present disclosure, the apparatus for signal transmission may perform some or all of the steps in the embodiments of the present disclosure, these steps or operations are only examples, and the embodiments of the present disclosure may also perform other operations or deformations of various operations. In addition, the steps may be performed in a different order presented in the embodiments of the present disclosure, and it may not be necessary to perform all the operations in the embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0069] The present disclosure provides a method for signal transmission, which can be applied to the scenario of signal transmission between the ET 101 and the ER 102 shown in FIG. 1. Of course, the method can also be applied to other scenarios, which will not be limited in the present disclosure. The above exemplary scenarios do not make any restrictions on the method.

[0070] In the present disclosure, "transmitting information to an ER" may be understood that the destination side of the information is the ER, and it may include transmitting the information directly or indirectly to the ER; "receiving information from an ER" may be understood that the source side of the information is the ER, and it may include receiving the  information directly or indirectly from the ER. The information may be processed as necessary on the source side and the destination side, but the destination side may understand the valid information from the source side. Similar expressions in the present disclosure can be similarly construed and will not be repeated here.

[0071] FIG. 2 is a flow chart of a method for signal transmission provided in the embodiments of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 2, the method 200 includes the following steps.

[0072] In S201, the ET respectively transmits a training signal over a plurality of frequency sub-bands with a same transmit power. Accordingly, the ER sequentially receives the training signal over the plurality of frequency sub-bands.

[0073] It will be understood that bandwidths of the plurality of frequency sub-bands are obtained by dividing a total available bandwidth between the ET and the ER. The bandwidths of the plurality of frequency sub-bands may partially overlap or not overlap, which is not limited in the embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0074] The ET may divide the total available bandwidth based on the frequency gap. The frequency gap refers to a distance between central frequencies of two adjacent frequency sub-bands. Whether the two adjacent frequency sub-bands among the plurality frequency sub-bands partially overlap or not overlap is determined based on a value of the frequency gap. The value of the frequency gap may be predefined or preconfigured. In one possible implementation, frequency gaps of all adjacent frequency sub-bands are not equal. In another possible implementation, the frequency gaps of all adjacent frequency sub-bands are equal. In yet another possible implementation, frequency gaps of some adjacent frequency sub-bands are equal, and frequency gaps of some other adjacent frequency sub-bands are not equal.

[0075] It will be understood that available bandwidths of the plurality of frequency sub-bands may all be equal or not be equal, or some of them may be equal and some of them may not be equal, which will not be limited in the embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0076] For the convenience of description, with reference to FIGS. 3 to 5, the following embodiments will be introduced below by taking an example in which the available bandwidths of the plurality of frequency sub-bands are all equal.

[0077] In one embodiment of the present disclosure, the available bandwidths of the plurality of frequency sub-bands do not overlap. FIG. 3 is a schematic diagram showing available bandwidths of a plurality of frequency sub-bands provided in embodiments of the present disclosure. The total available bandwidth between the ET and the ER is divided into K frequency sub-bands, where K is an integer greater than 1. Available bandwidths of any two adjacent frequency sub-bands among the K frequency sub-bands do not overlap. For example, the available bandwidths of the 1st frequency sub-band nd the 2nd frequency sub-band do not overlap, the available bandwidths of the kth frequency sub-band and the (k+1) th frequency sub-band do not overlap, and the available bandwidths of the (K-1) th frequency sub-band and the Kth frequency sub-band do not overlap, k belonging to {1, 2, …, K-1} .

[0078] In the example shown in FIG. 3, the distance between the central frequency C1 of the 1st frequency sub-band and the central frequency C2 of the 2nd frequency sub-band is Δf1. That is, the frequency gap between the 1st frequency sub-band and the 2nd frequency sub-band is Δf1. It can be seen from FIG. 3 that, Δf1 is equal to the available bandwidth of the 1st frequency sub-band, and the available bandwidth of the 1st frequency sub-band is equal to the available bandwidth of the 2nd frequency sub-band.

[0079] In the case where the available bandwidths of adjacent frequency sub-bands among the K frequency sub-bands do not overlap, the quantity K of frequency sub-bands obtained by dividing the total available bandwidth is small, so the time for the ET sequentially transmitting the training signal over the plurality of frequency sub-bands is short, which may improve the training efficiency and reduce the signaling overhead.

[0080] In another embodiment of the present disclosure, among the plurality of frequency sub-bands, available bandwidths of two adjacent frequency sub-bands partially overlap, and available bandwidths of two adjacent frequency sub-bands do not overlap. FIG. 4 is a schematic diagram showing available bandwidths of a plurality of frequency sub-bands provided in other embodiments of the present disclosure. The total available bandwidth between the ET and the ER may be divided into F frequency sub-bands, F being an integer greater than 1. Available bandwidths of two adjacent frequency sub-bands among the F frequency sub-bands partially overlap, and available bandwidths of two adjacent frequency sub-bands among the F frequency sub-bands do not overlap. For example, the available bandwidths of the 1st frequency sub-band and the 2nd frequency sub-band partially overlap, the available bandwidths of the fth frequency sub-band and the (f+1) th frequency sub-band partially overlap, and the available bandwidths of the (F-1) th frequency sub-band  and the Fth frequency sub-band do not overlap, f belonging to {1, 2, …, F-1} .

[0081] In the example shown in FIG. 4, a first group of frequency sub-bands includes two adjacent first frequency sub-bands; for the two adjacent first frequency sub-bands, the distance between the central frequency C1 of the 1st frequency sub-band and the central frequency C2 of the 2nd frequency sub-band is Δf2. That is, the frequency gap between the 1st frequency sub-band and the 2nd frequency sub-band is Δf2. It can be seen from FIG. 4 that, Δf2 is less than the available bandwidth of the 1st frequency sub-band. A second group of frequency sub-bands includes two adjacent second frequency sub-bands; for the two adjacent second frequency sub-bands, the distance between the central frequency C3 of the (F-1)th frequency sub-band and the central frequency C4 of the Fth frequency sub-band is Δf3. That is, the frequency gap between the (F-1) th frequency sub-band and the Fth frequency sub-band is Δf3. It can be seen from FIG. 4 that, Δf3 is equal to the available bandwidth of the Fth frequency sub-band.

[0082] Since the available bandwidths of adjacent frequency sub-bands among the F frequency sub-bands partially overlap, the quantity F of frequency sub-bands obtained by dividing the total available bandwidth is large, which improves the division accuracy of frequency sub-bands on the available bandwidth. Thus, it may be possible to improve the training accuracy and design more suitable waveform parameter, and in turn improve the efficiency of wireless power transmission.

[0083] In yet another embodiment of the present disclosure available bandwidths of every adjacent frequency sub-bands among the plurality of frequency sub-bands partially overlap. FIG. 5 is a schematic diagram showing available bandwidths of a plurality of frequency sub-bands provided in yet other embodiments of the present disclosure. The total available bandwidth between the ET and the ER may be divided into H frequency sub-bands, H being an integer greater than 1. Available bandwidths of every two adjacent frequency sub-bands among the H frequency sub-bands partially overlap. For example, the available bandwidths of the 1st frequency sub-band and the 2nd frequency sub-band partially overlap, the available bandwidths of the hth frequency sub-band and the (h+1) th frequency sub-band partially overlap, and the available bandwidths of the (H-1) th frequency sub-band and the Hth frequency sub-band partially overlap, h belonging to {1, 2, …, H-1} .

[0084] In the example shown in FIG. 5, a first group of frequency sub-bands includes two adjacent first frequency sub-bands; for the two adjacent first frequency sub-bands, the distance between the central frequency C1 of the 1st frequency sub-band and the central frequency C2 of the 2nd frequency sub-band is Δf4. That is, the frequency gap between the 1st frequency sub-band and the 2nd frequency sub-band is Δf4. Optionally, a second group of frequency sub-bands includes two adjacent second frequency sub-bands; for the two adjacent second frequency sub-bands, the frequency gap between the (H-1) th frequency sub-band and the Hth frequency sub-band may also be Δf4. It will be understood that since every two adjacent frequency sub-bands are designed to have the same frequency gap, it may be possible to simplify the division process and reduce the processing complexity of the ET.

[0085] Since the available bandwidths of every two adjacent frequency sub-bands among the H frequency sub-bands partially overlap, the quantity H of frequency sub-bands obtained by dividing the total available bandwidth is large, which improves the division accuracy of frequency sub-bands on the available bandwidth. Thus, the training accuracy may be further improved.

[0086] It will be understood that the ET sequentially transmits the training signal over the plurality of frequency sub-bands with the same transmit power, which means that the ET transmits the training signal mutiple times, and transmits the training signal on one frequency sub-band at a time. The order for transmitting the training signal may be predetermined by the ET and the ER. After the training, the ER may obtain a plurality of RSSIs whose quantity is the same as the plurality of frequency sub-bands.

[0087] Optionally, the training signal is a single carrier power signal; alternatively, the training signal is a second multi-carrier power signal that includes a plurality of subcarriers, and the second multi-carrier power signal has same amplitude and same phase over the plurality of subcarriers.

[0088] The second multi-carrier power signal may be a power signal including N subcarriers, and the second multi-carrier power signal has the same amplitude and phase over the N subcarriers. Thus, it may ensure the reliability of the RSSIs of the plurality of frequency sub-bands measured by the ER after receiving the training signal.

[0089] In S202, the ER transmits first information to the ET based on the RSSI of the training signal over the plurality of frequency sub-bands. Accordingly, the ET receives the first information, and the first information is used for indicating  the frequency sub-band with the highest RSSI among the plurality of frequency sub-bands.

[0090] In one possible implementation, the first information is an index of the frequency sub-band with the highest RSSI. That is, the ER may feed back the index of the frequency sub-band with the highest RSSI to the ET. In this way, the feedback overhead from the ER to the ET may be reduced. For example, as shown in FIG. 3, the index of the frequency sub-band with the highest RSSI may be Q, where Q belongs to {1, 2, …, K} .

[0091] Since each of the RSSIs of the plurality of frequency sub-bands reflects the communication performance over a respective frequency sub-band, the frequency sub-band with the highest RSSI is the frequency sub-band with better power transmission effect. Since the frequency sub-band with the highest RSSI is given to the ET through the first information, it may be convenient for the ET to determine the waveform parameter of the RF signal based on the frequency sub-band with better communication performance.

[0092] In S203, the ET determines a waveform parameter of a first multi-carrier power signal based on the first information, and the first multi-carrier power signal is used for providing energy.

[0093] The first multi-carrier power signal is a RF signal.

[0094] Optionally, the waveform parameter of the first multi-carrier power signal includes at least one of: a central frequency of the first multi-carrier power signal, a quantity of subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal, an amplitude over the subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal, or a phase over the subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal.

[0095] Optionally, the central frequency of the first multi-carrier power signal is a central frequency of the frequency sub-band with the highest RSSI.

[0096] In the embodiments of the present disclosure, the ET may determine the central frequency of the frequency sub-band with the highest RSSI as the central frequency of the first multi-carrier power signal based on the frequency sub-band with the highest RSSI among the plurality of frequency sub-bands.

[0097] Optionally, the quantity N of subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal is greater than or equal to a quantity M of subcarriers of the frequency sub-band with the highest RSSI, M being an integer greater than 1.

[0098] FIG. 6 is a schematic diagram showing a waveform of a first multi-carrier power signal provided in the embodiments of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 6, the central frequency of the frequency sub-band Q with the highest RSSI is the central frequency of the first multi-carrier power signal. The quantity of subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal over the power waveform bandwidth is N, and the N subcarriers have a peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) , which may improve the wireless power transmission efficiency.

[0099] Optionally, the first multi-carrier power signal has same amplitude and / or phase over a plurality of subcarriers comprised in first multi-carrier power signal, which may improve the power transmission effect.

[0100] Optionally, the amplitude over the subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal is determined based on the transmit power and the quantity of subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal.

[0101] For example, the amplitude over the subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal may be obtained by dividing the transmit power by the quantity of subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal. The transmit power and the quantity of subcarriers of the first multi-carrier power signal are not limited in the embodiments of the present disclosure, which may be set basedon the actual application scenarios.

[0102] In S204, the ET transmits the first multi-carrier power signal to the ER using the waveform parameter.

[0103] Optionally, the ER receives the first multi-carrier power signal and obtain energy using the first multi-carrier power signal.

[0104] In summary, in the method provided in the embodiments of the present disclosure, the ET sequentially transmits the training signal over the plurality of frequency sub-bands with the same transmit power; the ER transmits the first information to the ET based on the RSSI of the training signal over the plurality of frequency sub-bands, the first information being used for indicating the frequency sub-band with the highest RSSI among the plurality of frequency sub-bands.

[0105] Optionally, before S201, the method 200 further includes the following steps.

[0106] In S205, the ET transmits a wake-up signal to the ER. Accordingly, the ER receives the wake-up signal.

[0107] Optionally, the wake-up signal may be an On-and-Off Keying (OOK) preamble signal or other wake-up signal, which is not specifically limited in the embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0108] In S206, the ER transmits a response signal to the ET. Accordingly, the ET receives the response signal.

[0109] Optionally, the response signal is an acknowledgement (ACK) signal.

[0110] In this way, it may be possible to avoid the waste of the training signal when the ER is awakened in the subsequent signal transmission process.

[0111] In the embodiments of the present disclosure, without special instructions and logical conflicts, the terms and / or descriptions between different embodiments are consistent and can be referenced to each other, and the technical features in different embodiments can be combined to form new embodiments according to their inherent logical relationships.

[0112] It will be understood that, in order to achieve the above functions, the electronic device includes corresponding hardware and / or software modules for implementing various functions. Those skilled persons in the art should easily realize that the embodiments of present disclosure can be implemented in the form of a hardware or a combination of hardware and computer software in combination with the units and algorithm steps described in the embodiments of the present disclosure. Whether a certain function is performed via the hardware or the computer software-driven hardware depends on the specific application and restrictive conditions on designs of the technical solutions.
