[0004] The present invention relates to a new structure for carpets and rugs by which the surface of the carpet or rug presents different aspects depending on the position from which it is observed.
[0005] The object of the invention is therefore to provide a carpet or rug that allows different patterns to be displayed in a controlled and calculated manner, thus being able to vary the appearance of said carpet in a surprising way, thereby increasing its decorative capacity.

[0007] In the practical application of the invention, both carpets and rugs can be obtained with weaving patterns according to different designs, with virtually no limitations in this regard.
[0008] However, all these devices share the common denominator of having an invariable appearance, which limits the degree of decoration capacity that such a device can offer.
[0009] EXPLANATION OF THE INVENTION
[0010] The proposed structure for carpets and rugs fully and satisfactorily resolves the aforementioned problem, based on a simple but highly effective solution, allowing the appearance of the carpet or rug to vary in more than two patterns or designs depending on the angle at which the user is positioned.
[0011] To this end, the invention is based on a structure common to different types of carpets and rugs, in which a backing material or textile base supports the fibers or pile that make up the carpet surface. These fibers can be integrated using manual techniques, tufting guns or tufting robots, looms, or specialized machinery in the case of automated weaving techniques.
[0012] The innovation lies in the fact that the carpet fibers are deliberately positioned at different heights or cut to different lengths according to defined patterns, which are distributed across the backing material, creating an effect of depth and visual perspective. These patterns can be interspersed, forming groups of parallel lines in different configurations—pairs, trios, or larger sets—and can be applied to specific areas of the base depending on the design.
[0013] The resulting visual effect means that, when viewed from a distance, only the pattern with the tallest fibers is visible, while the patterns with lower fibers remain hidden beneath them. [0025] PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
[0026] As can be seen from the figures presented, the carpet of the invention is constructed, as is conventional, from a textile backing or base material that supports the pile or fibers forming the visible pattern on the carpet's surface. These fibers can be integrated using manual techniques, tufting guns, tufting robots, looms, or specialized machinery, according to the different weaving techniques employed, and will form the pattern displayed on the carpet's surface.
[0027] More specifically, and according to Figure 1, in one example of implementation, it is planned to obtain a carpet capable of displaying three different patterns.
[0028] To do this, we start with the three patterns (1-2-3) visible in Figure 1, with different colors and designs, which are broken down (1'-2'-3') as shown in Figure 2, so that if each pattern is to occupy 33% of the carpet surface, these will be affected by longitudinal cutouts (4) that will correspond to two empty lines for each pattern line, so that these patterns can be transferred interleaved with each other to the base mesh as shown in Figure 3.
[0029] Thus, once the different patterns are established on the base mesh, a different height will be established for each of the threads that participate in each pattern and that form the pile or hair of the carpet.
[0030] More specifically, the carpet of the invention may simultaneously include two or more patterns, which will be interleaved by parallel lines two by two, three by three, four by four, etc., with the fibers of each pattern having a different height.
[0031] In this way and as shown in figure 4, depending on the viewing angle and the position of the person (5) with respect to the carpet, you will be able to see only pattern (1), pattern (1) together with (2), all three patterns simultaneously, or pattern (1) and pattern (3).
[0032] As previously stated, and according to Figure 5, the threads that form each line of the pattern do not necessarily have to be distributed horizontally or vertically, and other distributions can be chosen, such as those shown in Figure 5, whether radial, oblique, irregular, etc.
[0033] Furthermore, the threads of each pattern do not have to be the same length, allowing you to play with these heights to modify the effects achieved depending on the area of the carpet in question.
[0034] Similarly, the three patterns do not have to affect 100% of the mesh surface, and can be distributed in specific areas, as in the example of figures 6 and 7, where leaf-shaped patterns have been provided whose threads are of a lower height, and which go unnoticed when the user is far from the carpet, as shown in figure 6, and which become visible automatically once a certain distance from the carpet is reached, thus achieving a surprising effect.
Claims
CLAIMS 1.- Structure for carpets and rugs, of the type constituted from a base mesh, on which threads constituting the pile or hair of the carpet or rug are knotted, characterized in that the threads are divided into two or more patterns (1-2-3) or designs that are intermingled with each other, partially or totally, in which the threads have different heights depending on the pattern to which they belong, distributed in such a way that the higher threads prevent the view of the lower threads for a certain viewing angle, becoming visible once that angle is exceeded. 2.- Structure for carpets and rugs, according to claim 1, characterized in that the patterns are interleaved on the base mesh from a distribution of parallel horizontal lines. 3.- Structure for carpets and rugs, according to claim 1, characterized in that the patterns are interleaved on the base mesh from a distribution of parallel vertical lines. 4.- Structure for carpets and rugs, according to claim 1, characterized in that the patterns are interleaved on the base mesh from a distribution of parallel radial lines. 5.- Structure for carpets and rugs, according to claim 1, characterized in that the patterns are interleaved on the base mesh from a distribution of irregular parallel lines. 6.- Structure for carpets and rugs, according to claim 1, characterized in that the threads that participate in each pattern are capable of having different lengths for said pattern.
