Description

[0001] ANTI-ROLLOVER ANCHORING MECHANISM

[0002] DESCRIPTION

[0003] OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

[0004] The invention relates to an anti-tip anchoring mechanism for containers, preferably flowerpots and planters, that combines a fixed male base, attachable to horizontal or vertical surfaces, with a standardized female interface integrated into the container itself. This interface is positioned at the bottom for horizontal installation and / or laterally for vertical installation. The coupling is guided to move the container into a stable position, so that the connection is housed and concealed inside the female interface during use. A single base is compatible with a variety of container sizes and both orientations, with the standardized, integrated female interface remaining common and working in conjunction with the base. The mechanism allows for pressure-guided and / or rotational adjustments to guide the container into a secure position, without the need for rings, cages, or other visible external elements.

[0005] The objective of the invention is to provide a multi-size anchoring mechanism that, with a single fixed male base, allows anchoring of flowerpots of different sizes in horizontal or vertical orientation, by means of a standardized female interface integrated into the flowerpot itself (bottom for horizontal and / or side for vertical), guaranteeing a stable hold, hidden in use, tolerant in insertion and scalable in sizes, in order to improve stability against wind and use, reduce logistical references and minimize the visual impact of the anchor.

[0006] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0007] In the nursery and garden center sector, especially on display tables and growing benches, solutions are commonly used to prevent pots and planters from tipping over or shifting during display, watering, handling, and restocking. These solutions include visible rings, cages, or pot holders, ballast, clamps or clips, and adhesive or dimensionally adjustable devices that depend on the pot size. While these alternatives do provide stability in specific situations, they require managing multiple pot sizes, complicate cleaning and maintenance, restrict quick restocking, and often fail to secure the pot to the floor. On nursery tables, the same display area must alternate pots of different diameters throughout the season, without the possibility of reconfiguring the display between changes.Current solutions based on containment rings or baskets require specific sizes and do not allow for quick transitions between formats. Likewise, mechanisms that rely on the weight of the planter or visible perimeter barriers do not adequately address the needs arising from wind, vibration, or accidental impacts common in high-volume product environments.

[0008] In summary, the state of the art does not provide a unified mechanism that:

[0009] (i) anchor the container by means of a concealed, guided coupling to a stable seat with a single base for a plurality of sizes;

[0010] (i) function in both horizontal and vertical orientation on the same platform; and

[0011] (iii) avoid visible external elements (hoops, cages or others), preserving aesthetics, hygiene, speed of replacement and safety in nurseries and display tables.

[0012] Although the need is particularly evident in nurseries and plant display tables, the deficiencies described extend to other areas of application (street furniture, terraces, greenhouses, plant logistics and transport, gardening and decoration retail), where stability, real multi-size capability, concealment of the anchoring and operational simplification are also demanded without compromising the product presentation.

[0013] DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0014] The invention is a tongue-and-groove anti-tip anchoring mechanism comprising a fixed male base and a standardized female interface integrated into the container itself. The container can be a flowerpot. The male base is fixed to an installation surface (floor, nursery table, bench, or vertical surface), and the female interface, located internally (horizontal mounting) and / or laterally (vertical mounting) within the container, cooperates with the base to create a guided coupling that leads to the stable seating of the joint.

[0015] For the purposes of this document, a container is defined as, for example, a receptacle for holding substrate or containing soil and plants. The container has a lower and / or lateral volume that is concealed when it rests on the installation surface and / or is positioned against a wall. The female interface of the mechanism is integrated into this lower and / or lateral volume, configured to receive the male elements of the base and allow coupling guided by rotation and / or pressure until a stable seat is achieved.

[0016] The fixed male base has a smaller footprint than the bottom of the container, so it fits snugly into the female interface when the assembly is installed. The external appearance is that of a container resting on the surface, with no visible external elements to reveal the presence of the anchor.

[0017] The female interface can be:

[0018] • Integrated from the source into the container itself (preferred configuration), or

[0019] • Materialized as an independent adaptation piece, fixable to the container by means of joining elements (screws, rivets or structural adhesive), which allows it to be positioned in containers without the mechanism of a secure fixing system.

[0020] The male base is secured to the installation surface using fasteners suitable for that surface (screws, anchors, structural adhesives, or clips), allowing for selection of the anchor point and its relocation after releasing these fasteners. Once anchored to the surface, the base prevents accidental displacement or removal.

[0021] The anchoring mechanism has at least one male base and at least one complementary female interface. In one embodiment, the male bases comprise coupling protrusions which, when the female interface of the container is superimposed on the base, engage with openings / holes in the female interface to establish an anchor that prevents the assembly from tipping over. The openings / holes are dimensioned with controlled tolerances relative to the protrusion(s) to allow guided insertion and a functional fit in service. To improve the anchoring, the openings / holes and protrusions can have a longitudinal geometry (longer than they are wide), so that the effective insertion and / or guiding stroke increases and the resistance to tipping and slippage is optimized.

[0022] Optionally, an elastic retaining element may be arranged inside the openings / holes of the female interface. This element cooperates with the protrusion to: (i) facilitate insertion, (ii) absorb vibrations and micro-impacts during use, and (iii) provide a return force that hinders accidental dislodgement under normal stresses (wind, occasional pushes, or table vibrations). In a preferred embodiment, each protrusion is topped with a head of larger diameter than its stem, and the female interface defines a slotted guide whose width is less than the diameter of the head. During the coupling maneuver, the protrusion(s) and their head pass through the opening, and then the stem / head assembly moves relatively along the guide to a seated position where the head is retained below the slot, preventing vertical dislodgement. The slotted guide may be curved (e.g.,, short arc or helical) to materialize a closure by rotation (guided bayonet type), so that a small rotation of the container with respect to the base places the head in the retention zone.

[0023] To reduce wear, noise, and friction, the guide can incorporate an inner lining or insert made of low-friction and / or elastomeric material, conformable to the protrusion and capable of cushioning tolerances, distributing pressure, and providing progressive closing. This inner lining can also retain the protrusion in intermediate positions (e.g., pre-closing), improving the tactile quality of the operation.

[0024] The mechanism can enhance its usability with sound and visual indicators:

[0025] • Sound indicator: small elastic tabs or reliefs located at the mouth and / or along the guide that, as the protuberance / head passes through, generate “clicks” that confirm entry, pre-closure and closure.

[0026] • Visual marking: discreet markings on the base and container that indicate the starting position and the closing position, enabling operation without inspection of the interior.

[0027] The size of the fixed male base and the standardized female interface is independent of the container's size and shape, so the same male base can be used for multiple container diameters without reconfiguration or visible accessories. When the female interface is integrated into the container, its footprint can remain constant across sizes, and when the separate female interface is used, it is attached to the container using fasteners (screws, rivets, structural adhesive) without affecting compatibility with the same base.

[0028] In optional versions, the closure can be achieved by concentric pressure using the protrusion(s) (on the male base) and the female opening (on the integrated female interface), with self-guiding conical inlets and perimeter interference zones that provide a uniform seating position, minimizing vibration. Disassembly is accomplished by releasing the pressure and lifting the vessel with a controlled movement. The base can also incorporate retractable protrusions with a flush resting position and manual or automatic activation (e.g., an L-shaped lever actuated by the weight of the vessel). For vertical installation, the same male base is fixed to the wall, and the lateral female interface of the vessel receives the protrusion(s) of the base by guided insertion and gravity seating. A safety pin and / or auxiliary lock can be provided to block the extension path until intentionally deactivated. These security solutions are discreet and do not alter the drainage or the exterior aesthetics.

[0029] The mechanism prevents the container from moving or falling, even under wind or other external forces. It facilitates installation and replacement in case of damage, and the same base is compatible with different container sizes and shapes without adjustments or modifications when changing the container or its orientation. This reduces the number of parts, streamlines operations in nurseries and display stands, and maintains a clean appearance, as the joint is concealed and no external elements are visible.

[0030] Additionally, the mechanism may incorporate complementary features designed to improve its functionality, manufacturing, and operation in nursery and exhibition environments, as detailed below:

[0031] Drainage, self-cleaning, and particle management; The female interface can define open channels and relief openings that:

[0032] - They facilitate demolding in one direction only (avoiding slippage in tooling),

[0033] - they act as drainage channels to evacuate irrigation water, and

[0034] - They promote self-cleaning by cooperating with inclined planes and functional edges of the protrusions during the insertion / extraction maneuver.

[0035] Microtextures and / or low-adhesion coatings that discourage dust and sand retention are considered.

[0036] Visual signals and operating indicators; Without prejudice to the concealment of the mechanism, the following may be provided:

[0037] - discreet visual markings on base and container for start and close positions, and

[0038] - audible indicators (elastic reliefs or tabs) that confirm entry, pre-closure and closure, without being essential for operation.

[0039] These operating aids allow for reproducible handling by non-specialized personnel, without internal inspection of the interface. Elastomeric elements and vibration control; The mechanism can integrate elastomeric pads in support areas and / or inserts in the female interface for:

[0040] - to cushion impacts when supporting the container,

[0041] - absorb micro-vibrations derived from wind or customer traffic, and

[0042] - homogenize the contact pressure in the closing section, providing progressive resistance and tactile quality in the maneuver.

[0043] Optionally, security and tamper-proof features; For public access environments or prolonged exposure:

[0044] - safety pin that, when engaged, intercepts the exit path, and / or

[0045] - auxiliary lock that inhibits the start of the release maneuver while it remains activated.

[0046] Both solutions are discreet, compatible with water drainage, and do not alter the exterior aesthetics of the complex.

[0047] Retractable protrusions and assisted activation; In optional variants, the base protrusions can be retracted between an operating position and a flush position (safe and non-engaging at rest), with:

[0048] - direct manual activation, or

[0049] - Automatic activation by means of an "L" shaped lever whose horizontal arm receives the load of the container and raises the protrusion when it rests, returning to rest when the container is removed.

[0050] Core elements: panels and rails with integrated bases; For nursery tables and linear display units, the integration of multiple bases into panels or rails is planned, which:

[0051] - They allow you to position, move, and lock each base without tools,

[0052] - They incorporate internal drainage channels and end stops, and

[0053] - They maintain a clean aesthetic where only the containers are visible.

[0054] This core design streamlines surface changes, reduces replacement times, and minimizes placement errors. The female interface can be independent and adaptable, of the "SIM type." In addition to factory integration, a separate female interface can be attached to the container by screwing, riveting, or structural adhesive.

[0055] Additionally, the "SIM-type" solution with concentric frames / adapters allows for modular adjustment of the usable perimeter of the independent female interface for different sizes, while maintaining the same base and the same coupling mechanism. This family avoids the need for multiple part numbers and extends compatibility to existing containers.

[0056] The summarized operation is: tolerant presentation of the container on the base, capture of protrusions at the mouths of the female interface, progression guided by pressure and / or rotation with progressive resistance, stable seating with the joint housed and hidden in the female interface, and release by reverse gesture.

[0057] Together, the above features materialize an anti-rollover anchoring mechanism with guided coupling and a stable and invisible seat in use, compatible with horizontal and vertical mounting on the same base.

[0058] Optionally, the female interface has protrusions, forming the male configuration, and the male base has holes or similar features, forming the female configuration, into which the protrusions of the female interface are inserted. The operation is the same for both vertical and horizontal mounting.

[0070] PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

[0071] The following describes a preferred embodiment of the anti-rollover anchoring mechanism, which is the subject of this invention.

[0072] According to a preferred embodiment, the anti-tip anchoring mechanism is implemented on nursery display tables and display walls, with a fixed male base (2) and pots with a standardized female interface (3, 3A) integrated in one or two positions: a) Horizontal mounting (lower female interface (3)): The fixed male base (2) is anchored to the horizontal surface using fasteners suitable to the substrate (e.g., screws or structural adhesive). The male base (2) defines one or more protrusions (2A) (including, by way of example, at least one protrusion (2A) or two symmetrically arranged protrusions (2A)). The container (1) incorporates, at its bottom, the standardized female interface (3) integrated with inlet openings and a guide path. The user presents the container (1) onto the male base (2) and, by rotation and / or pressure, the protrusion(s) (2A) advance(s) along the guide path until they reach a stable seat, with the joint housed and hidden in the female interface (3). b) Vertical mounting (lateral female interface (3A)):.

[0073] The same fixed male base (2) is anchored to the wall. The container (1) incorporates, on its side, the standardized and integrated female interface (3A) with an inlet and guide path compatible with the base (2). The user presents the container (1) to the male base (2); the guided insertion of the protrusion(s) (2A) and gravity work together to achieve a stable seat. The connection remains concealed within the lateral female interface (3A).

[0074] In both orientations, the footprint of the male base (2) is smaller than the footprint of the container (1), so that, in service, the male base (2) is contained within the volume of the female interface (3,3A). The same male base (2) is compatible with a variety of container (1) sizes without requiring reconfiguration or visible external accessories. The guide path can be longitudinal (longer than wide) and / or define a grooved guide that cooperates with a larger diameter head on the protrusion (2A) for retention under the groove by means of a short turn (guided bayonet closure), or it can produce a pressure closure with conical openings and perimeter interference. Optionally, the female interface (3,3A) can have elastic retention elements at the openings / guides to facilitate gripping, absorb vibrations, and prevent accidental dislodgement. This configuration achieves stability against wind, vibration and thrusts, speed of replacement and a clean aesthetic, as the mechanism remains hidden in use.

[0075] A second preferred embodiment of the anti-tip anchoring mechanism, which is the subject of the invention, is described below. In this second embodiment, the container (1) has the horizontal female interface (3) and the male base (2).

[0076] The anti-rollover anchoring mechanism of the second preferred embodiment comprises a container (1), a male base (2), a female interface (3), at least one protrusion (2A), and at least one hole. The container (1) has at least one side wall defining an upper cavity and a lower recess. The female interface (3) extends inward from the container (1) into the recess, and the male base (2) has a lower surface adaptable to the floor or another surface. The male base (2) has fastening elements for securing it to the floor.

[0077] The protrusion (2A) extends upward from the male base (2), and the hole is defined in the female interface (3). The protrusions (2A) and holes are positioned and dimensioned such that, when the male base (2) and the female interface (3) meet, the protrusions (2A) fit into the holes, preventing the container (1) from tipping over. Inserting the protrusions (2A) into the holes anchors the container (1) to the ground, preventing it from tipping over.

[0078] Figure 8 shows an exploded view according to the second preferred embodiment, in which the container (1) has the standardized female interface (3) comprising the holes corresponding to the protrusions (2A) of the male base (2).

[0079] In the second embodiment, the protrusions (2A) are terminated in a head with a larger diameter than the protrusion (2A). Furthermore, at least one slotted guide, narrower than the diameter of the head, extends from each hole, allowing the protrusion (2A) to be inserted through the hole and subsequently moved relative to the guide to ensure secure attachment and prevent separation.

[0080] In the second embodiment shown, the slotted guides are curved, and the coupling between the male base (2) and the female interface (3) is established by their relative rotation. Thus, the head and the protrusion (2A) are inserted through the opening, and as the container (1) is rotated relative to the ground, the protrusions (2A) move along slots in the slotted guides. The head moves inside the female interface (3) within the slotted guides, such that the slots, which are smaller than the head, prevent it from moving vertically out of the slotted guide.

[0081] Figure 9 shows a cross-sectional view of the second embodiment comprising the slotted guide extending from the holes and the protrusions (2A) that position the heads. This embodiment is similar to that shown in Figure 8 with respect to the protrusions (2A) and the holes.

[0082] Figure 9 shows an inner lining in the slotted guide designed to improve movement and protect the protrusion (2A) and the head. This inner lining is either confined to the inside of the slotted guide or extends further into the slot. The lining is selected from elastic materials designed to conform to the shape of the head and absorb vibrations.

[0083] Figure 10 shows a third embodiment in a cross-sectional view in which the female interface (3) comprises the holes and the male base (2) comprises the protrusions (2A). In this third embodiment, the protrusions (2A) provide the anchoring by being inserted into the holes, with two anchoring configurations shown, one on the left and one on the right.

[0084] The hole on the left in Fig. 10 is larger than the protrusion (2A) and contains an elastic element and a plate. The protrusion (2A) passes through the elastic element, adapting elastically to it to ensure its retention in the hole. Additionally, a sliding plate is located at the bottom of the hole. When the plate makes contact with the bottom of the hole, it emits a sound to indicate that the protrusion (2A) is in the anchored position.

[0085] The hole on the right in Fig. 10 is much more closely fitted to the protrusion (2A), so that by inserting a plurality of protrusions (2A) into the holes, the anchoring is established. In some embodiments, these holes on the right may include the aforementioned plates.

Principal Distinguishing Feature Over D01 [0010]The most substantive amendment is the incorporation into claim 1 of a geometric verticality feature: the cooperative arrangement of the male base (2) and the standardised female interface (3, 3 A) is geometrically configured so that the container (1) remains in the vertical position of use relative to the ground — with its principal axis vertical and its aperture facing upward — whether the male base is fixed to a horizontal or a vertical surface. [0011]Document D01 (DE 202013011299 Ul) designs its anchoring mechanism exclusively for horizontal surfaces, placing the counterpart (Gegenstück, element 3) and adhesive strip (Klebestreifen, element 4) at the bottom of the container. If mounted on a vertical surface, DOl's container would tilt, the substrate would fall, and normal irrigation would be impossible — making the system entirely non-functional for potted plants. D01 not only fails to disclose the geometric configuration that ensures verticality in use regardless of the installation surface orientation, but its mechanical design is structurally incompatible with that mode of operation. This feature is directly supported by Figures 1, 2 and 3 of the application as filed. DECLARACION SEGUN EL ARTICULO 19 (1 ) [0012]3. Integrated and Independent Variants [0013]Claim 1 has been amended to expressly cover both the standardised female interface integrated into the container and the interface materialised as a separate adaptor piece fixable thereto, resolving the inconsistency identified in Box VIII of the Written Opinion between original claims 1 and 9. Dependent claims have been adapted accordingly to remove unnecessary restrictions to the integrated variant. [0014]4. Claim 12 — Restrictive Reformulation of Original Claim 14 [0015]Amended claim 12 retains only the implementation environment of original claim 14 (nursery benches, cultivation benches and display tables), omitting the weather-resistance, outdoor-use and size-tolerance elements noted as unclear in Box VIII. [0016]5. New Claims 19 and 20 [0017]Claim 19 expressly captures the vertical -in-use feature with upward-oriented aperture, regardless of the mounting orientation of the male base or the position of the standardised female interface. This feature is absent from DOI and from all other documents identified in the International Search Report. Claim 20 claims the anti-tip anchoring method as a complete operative process. Both claims are new with respect to the original set. [0018]6. Description and Drawings [0019]The amendments require no further modifications to the description or drawings. The application as filed provides full support for the amended claim set.
