[0046] In the following, for the purpose of illustration, some example embodiments are described with the first apparatus 110 operating as a terminal device and the second apparatus 120 operating as a network device. However, in some example embodiments, operations described in connection with a terminal device may be implemented at a network device or other device, and operations described in connection with a network device may be implemented at a terminal device or other device.

[0047] In some example embodiments, if the first apparatus 110 is a terminal device and the second apparatus 120 is a network device, a link from the second apparatus 120 to the first apparatus 110 is referred to as a downlink (DL) , and a link from the first apparatus 110 to the second apparatus 120 is referred to as an uplink (UL) . In DL, the second apparatus 120 is a transmitting (TX) device (or a transmitter) and the first apparatus 110 is a receiving (RX) device (or a receiver) . In UL, the first apparatus 110 is a TX device (or a transmitter) and the second apparatus 120 is a RX device (or a receiver) .

[0048] Communications in the communication environment 100 may be implemented according to any proper communication protocol (s) , comprising, but not limited to, cellular communication protocols of the first generation (1G) , the second generation (2G) , the third generation (3G) , the fourth generation (4G) , the fifth generation (5G) , the sixth generation (6G) , and the like, wireless local network communication protocols such as Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11 and the like, and / or any other protocols currently known or to be developed in the future. Moreover, the communication may utilize any proper wireless communication technology, comprising but not limited to: Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) , Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) , Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) , Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) , Time Division Duplex (TDD) , Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) , Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple (OFDM) , Discrete Fourier Transform spread OFDM (DFT-s-OFDM) and / or any other technologies currently known or to be developed in the future.

[0049] SBFD is being specified as a new mode of operation in unpaired spectrum where separate set of resource blocks (RBs) within a time division duplexing (TDD) carrier are used for UL and DL transmission simultaneously. The intention is to allow more UL transmission opportunities compared to the typical DL-heavy TDD configurations used in today’s TDD deployments. This brings benefits in terms of UL coverage and UL latency especially in wide area macro networks where many UEs are in power-limited conditions in the UL direction. The SBFD may be employed in the communication environment 100.

[0050] FIG. 2A to FIG. 2C illustrate examples 200, 201, and 202 of duplexing modes. Currently, the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) 5th Generation (5G) New Radio (NR) supports two duplexing modes: Frequency Division Duplexing (FDD) for paired bands (shown as example 200) and Time Division Duplexing (TDD) for unpaired bands (shown as example 201) . As shown in FIG. 2A, in FDD operation, the frequency domain resource is divided into a DL band 210, an UL band 220 and a guard band 230. UL and DL transmissions are allowed at the same time over different frequency bands which are separated by a guard band. Frequency bands are generally inflexible to change which may result in higher complexity and high cost. As shown in FIG. 2B, in TDD operation, the time domain resource is divided into DL 211 symbols / slots and UL symbols / slots 221. However, allocating a limited time duration for the UL in TDD can result in reduced coverage, increased latency, and reduced capacity.

[0051] To address these challenges, a mechanism on the evolution of duplexing operation in NR has been proposed. One of the objectives of the mechanism is to enable simultaneous DL and UL transmissions on different physical resource blocks (RBs) within an unpaired wideband NR cell (shown as example 202) . This new way of duplexing is referred to as SBFD. As shown in FIG. 2C, in SBFD operation, the time and frequency domain resource are split into a DL subband and a UL subband.

[0052] Some high-level principles on SBFD operation are as follows. Simultaneous transmission and reception (on non-overlapping set of RBs) is assumed at the gNB side, while half-duplex operation is assumed the UE side. UE behavior for handling collision and priorities between UL and DL channels is currently being specified. Furthermore, only one UL subband, while one or at most two DL subbands are within a TDD carrier. These are commonly referred as DU (or UD) or DUD operation, respectively, as shown in FIG. 3A and FIG. 3B. Moreover, a SBFD subband is defined as 1 RB or more consecutive RBs which are used for the same transmission direction (either UL or DL) . Further, UL transmissions take place within UL subband only, while DL receptions take place within DL subband (s) only. In addition, SBFD-aware UEs is used to refer to UEs supporting (at least some) SBFD-related features. As baseline, it is assumed that both time and frequency locations of subbands for SBFD operation are known to SBFD-aware UEs, while this information is not available for legacy UEs. Legacy UEs are not aware of SBFD operation and thus behave in similar manner as in today’s TDD system. It is concluded that non-SBFD aware UEs, including legacy UEs, and SBFD aware UEs can coexist in cells with SBFD operation at gNB side.

[0053] FIG. 3A illustrates a schematic diagram of an example arrange of UL and DL resources for DU / UD SBFD operation. For example, as shown in FIG. 3A, the UL subband 313 and the DL subband 314 may be used for SBFD operation. FIG. 3B illustrates a schematic diagram of an example arrange of UL and DL resources for DUD SBFD operation. For example, as shown in FIG. 3B, the UL subband 323 and the DL subbands 324-1 and 324-2 may be used for SBFD operation. SBFD symbols (or slots) (for example, SBFD symbols / slots 315 in FIG. 3A, SBFD symbols / slots 315’ in FIG. 3B) may refer to those symbols (or slots) where both a UL and one or more DL subbands are simultaneously available. Non-SBFD symbols (for example, DL symbols / slots 311 and 321, UL symbols / slots 312 and 322) refer to unidirectional symbols. Different time-domain sequences were discussed, e.g. DXXXU, XXXXX, or XXXXU where D, U, X refers to downlink, uplink and SBFD slots (1 slot corresponds to 14 OFDM symbols) , respectively. One or more RBs may be used as guard band between the UL and DL subbands to facilitate rejection of cross-link interference. Similarly, a guard time or period of one or more OFDM symbols may take place for the transition between different symbol / slot types.

[0054] The synchronization signal block (SSB) plays a crucial role in 5G new radio (NR) . The SSB contains the primary synchronization signals (PSS) and secondary synchronization signals (SSS) , and physical broadcast channel (PBCH) which are used by the UEs for cell search, cell attachment, and synchronization. An SSB is periodically transmitted with a configurable periodicity of either 5ms, 10ms, 20ms, 40ms, 80ms or 160ms. To enable beam-sweeping for PSS / SSS and PBCH, SS burst sets are defined where an SS burst set including a set of SSBs, each SSB potentially be transmitted on a different beam. Each SSB in the burst set occupies 4 OFDM symbols in time-domain, while the duration of the SS burst depends on the number of SSBs that are swept, for example, up to 8 SSBs in frequency range between 3-6GHz, as shown in FIG. 4, which illustrates an example of the time-domain resources used for a SSB burst with 8 SSB beams. In FIG. 4, the OFDM symbol number indicating the start position of each SSB transmission equals to the OFDM symbol number indicating the position of PSS of each SSB transmission. Furthermore, in frequency range (FR) 2 (24.25GHz to 52.6GHz) , the number of SSBs that are swept is up to 64 beams.

[0055] As for SBFD operation, SSB may be transmitted in SBFD or DL-only symbols. In some solutions, for transmissions of SSB in SBFD symbols, SSB is prioritized over configured UL transmission and dynamically scheduled UL transmission. In one option, SSB symbols configured with SBFD subbands are SBFD symbols and only DL receptions within DL usable PRBs are allowed for SBFD aware UEs, as shown in FIG. 5A. In another option, a slot consisting of SSB symbols is considered as a full DL slot, as shown in FIG. 5B.In this case, in an SBFD symbol, the UE may prioritize DL reception of the SSB over a UL transmission, since the UE is assumed to be half-duplex which means it may not transmit in UL and receive in DL at the same time. FIG. 5A and FIG. 5B illustrate the two options of SSB handling, which specifies UE behavior in the slot or symbols where the SSB is transmitted.

[0056] As for the option shown in FIG. 5A, the SSBs and other DL signals need to be confined in the DL subband, that is, DL usable PRBs. In the symbols where SSBs are transmitted, no UL transmission is expected to be in the PRB (s) 501, that is, the PRBs belonging to the UL subband may not be used for neither UL nor DL transmissions since the UE prioritizes the DL SSB reception in the DL RBs.

[0057] As for the option shown in FIG. 5B, SSB may take place in any RBs of the slot 511, instead of being restricted to the position of DL subbands in SBFD operation, which means the slot consisting of SSB symbols is considered as a full DL slot. In this case, SBFD operation is assumed to be ‘disabled’ temporarily in that slot, thus all RBs may be used for DL transmission if needed.

[0058] In some solutions, the option shown in FIG. 5A is agreed for SSB transmission handling as a working assumption. However, the option shown in FIG. 5B is a more flexible option as described below. In the followings, the option shown in FIG. 5A is described as SSB symbols being SBFD symbols, and the option shown in FIG. 5B is described as slot with SSB being DL-only. As for the placement of SSB in frequency domain, when SSB symbols are SBFD symbols, SSB is restricted to DL subbands, e.g. upper or lower part of band in DUD operation. However, when slot with SSB is DL-only, SSB may be placed anywhere in frequency. In this case, this flexibility is crucial to align its position with CORESET0 location, and / or to deal with operator-specific preferences. Moreover, as for the resource waste, when SSB symbols are SBFD symbols, resources in UL subband overlapping with SSB may not be used for neither UL nor DL. In this case, the longer the SSB burst, the more the waste. In addition, it is still possible to have some UL transmissions in symbols not overlapping with SSB. However, when slot with SSB is DL-only, all RBs may be used for DL transmission in the SSB slot, although there is no ‘SBFD UL improvement’ in the slot SSB slot, which may compromise UL coverage and / or latency. As for, UE or gNB complexity, when SSB symbols are SBFD symbols, no transitions are in principle needed between SBFD-and non-SBFD operation, and when slot with SSB is DL-only, there are additional transitions needed between SBFD-and non-SBFD operation.

[0059] As described above, slot with SSB being DL-only is preferred over SSB symbols being SBFD symbols due to more flexibility or less restrictions on where the SSB may be placed in frequency domain, and lower waste of DL resources in the SSB slot. The main benefit of SSB symbols being SBFD symbols is potentially lower complexity or lower overhead, that is, slot with SSB being DL-only may require some guard or transition period in the UE and / or gNB to switch from ‘SBFD-mode’ and ‘non-SBFD mode’ , while this transition period may not be needed in SSB symbols being SBFD symbols assuming the UE and gNB were already operating in ‘SBFD mode’ in an earlier slot.

[0060] In accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure, there is provided a solution for determining whether a SBFD resource that covers the SSB resource is converted into downlink resource. That is, in the solution, whether a slot containing SSB symbols being considered a full DL slot or SSB symbols being considered SBFD symbols is determined based on conditions, which are described in the followings. In this case, the conversion to DL-only slots or symbols is only applicable in some conditions, for example, if the SSB slots occur immediately or shortly after DL-only slots. Otherwise, the slot may remain as SBFD slot.

[0061] The solution can achieve the benefits of a slot containing SSB symbols being considered a full DL slot in terms of frequency-domain flexibility and resource waste, while the solution can address the concerns of transition or guard periods. In this case, the solution can decrease the number of actual transitions between SBFD and non-SBFD symbols without restricting the frequency resources and RBs in which SSB can be transmitted.

[0062] Example embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0063] FIG. 6 illustrates a signaling flow of SSB handling in SBFD operation in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the signaling flow 600 will be described with reference to FIG. 1, for example, by using the first apparatus 110 and the second apparatus 120. In some example embodiments, the first apparatus 110 may be a terminal device, such as UE. In some example embodiments, the second apparatus 120 may be a network device, such as a serving cell. In addition, at least one SSB may include at least one of SSB, or SSB burst in the following descriptions.

[0064] The second apparatus 120 transmits (6010) a first configuration for SSB transmission to the first apparatus 110. In this case, the first configuration indicates an SSB resource on which at least one SSB is transmitted. In some example embodiments, the SSB resource may include one or more symbols or one or more slots. In other words, the first apparatus 110 receives (6010) the first configuration for SSB transmission from the second apparatus 120. The first configuration for SSB transmission may include SSB periodicity (RRC parameter ssb-periodicityServingCell) , SSB burst duration (from ssb-PositionsInBurst) , the start symbol of the SSB burst, etc.

[0065] The second apparatus 120 transmits (6020) a second configuration for SBFD resource to the first apparatus 110. In other words, the first apparatus 110 receives (6020) the second configuration for SBFD resource from the fist apparatus 110. For example, the second configuration may indicate location (s) of the SBFD resources in time-domain and frequency-domain. In some example embodiments, the time-domain configuration may at least include at least one group of symbols for DL-only transmission, for example, one or more DL-only slots, and at least one group of symbols for SBFD operation, for example, one or more SBFD slots. In some example embodiments, the first configuration and the second configuration may be transmitted in a same message. Alternatively, the first configuration and the second configuration may be transmitted in different messages.

[0066] The first apparatus 110 determines (6050) whether the SBFD resource that covers the SSB resource is converted into downlink resource. In addition, the second apparatus 120 determines (6055) whether the SBFD resource that covers the SSB resource is converted into downlink resource. In this case, the benefits of frequency-domain flexibility and reducing resource waste can be achieve. In some example embodiments, the first apparatus 110 may assume that the SSB resource is transmitted in downlink resource. Alternatively, the first apparatus 110 may assume that the resource containing the SSB transmission is a downlink resource. In some example embodiments, some of SBFD resources may be converted into downlink resource, while some of the SBFD resources may not be converted into downlink resource. In some example embodiments, the SSB resource may be used for one or more SSBs.

[0067] In some example embodiments, the SBFD resource may include at least one symbol on which the at least one SSB is transmitted. In some other example embodiments, the SBFD resource may include at least one symbol on which the at least one SSB is transmitted and at least one symbol before or after the at least one symbol on which the at least one SSB is transmitted. In some example embodiments, the SBFD resource may include at least one slot on which the at least one SSB is transmitted. Alternatively, the SBFD resource may include at least one slot on which the at least one SSB is transmitted and at least one slot before or after the at least one slot on which the at least one SSB is transmitted.

[0068] In some example embodiments, the first apparatus 110 may determine (6050) whether the SBFD resource that covers the SSB resource is converted into downlink resource based on a first condition related to a relation between the SSB resource and a non-SBFD resource. In some example embodiments, the first apparatus 110 may determine (6030) whether the first condition is satisfied. In some example embodiments, the second apparatus 120 may determine (6035) whether the first condition is satisfied. The determination (6035) at the second apparatus 120 may be performed in a similar way as the determination (6030) at the first apparatus 110. Example embodiments described with reference to the determination (6030) at the first apparatus 110 can also be applied to the determination (6035) at the second apparatus 120.

[0069] In some example embodiments, if the first condition related to the relation between the SSB resource and a non-SBFD resource is satisfied, the first apparatus 110 may determine (6050) that the SBFD resource is converted into downlink resource. In some other example embodiments, if the first condition related to the relation between the SSB resource and a non-SBFD resource is not satisfied, the first apparatus 110 may determine (6050) that the SBFD resource is not converted into downlink resource. In this case, the number of actual transitions between SBFD and non-SBFD symbols can be decreased.

[0070] In some example embodiments, the first apparatus 110 may determine whether a duration between a first symbol of the SSB resource and a last non-SBFD symbol preceding the SSB resource is less than a first threshold. In this case, the first symbol of the SSB resource may refer to the symbol which is in the first one place of the SSB resources. In other words, the first apparatus 110 may determine whether the time interval between the first symbol of the SSB and the last non-SBFD symbol preceding the SSB is less than a certain duration. In some example embodiments, the first threshold is configured by the second apparatus 120 or specified. In some example embodiments, if the duration between a first symbol of the SSB resource and a last non-SBFD symbol preceding the SSB resource is less than the first threshold, the first apparatus 110 may determine (6030) that the first condition is satisfied, and the first apparatus 110 may determine (6050) that the SBFD resource is converted into downlink resource. In some other example embodiments, if the duration between a first symbol of the SSB resource and a last non-SBFD symbol preceding the SSB resource is larger than or equals to the first threshold, the first apparatus 110 may determine (6030) that the first condition is not satisfied, and the first apparatus 110 may determine (6050) that the SBFD resource is not converted into downlink resource. Reference is made to FIG. 7A and FIG. 7B, which illustrate examples of converting slots with SSB in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure, respectively. In both cases in FIG. 7A and FIG. 7B, the SBFD configuration as per the second configuration includes 5 slots DXXXU where X refers to slots containing SBFD symbols. As shown in FIG. 7A, period 710 refers to SBFD UL-DL pattern period, that is, DXXXU, and period 720 refers to SBFD UL-DL pattern period converted from DXXXU to DDDXU, since the duration 722 between first symbol 724 of the SSB resource and the last non-SBFD symbol preceding the SSB is less than the first threshold 726. This results in converting the SBFD resource into downlink resource. As shown in FIG. 7B, period 730 and period 740 refer to SBFD UL-DL pattern period, that is, DXXXU, respectively, since the duration 732 between first symbol 734 of the SSB resource and the last non-SBFD symbol preceding the SSB is larger than the first threshold 726. Therefore, SBFD resource is not converted into downlink resource, that is, still SBFD-slots as per the second configuration.

[0071] Referring back to FIG. 6, in some example embodiments, the first apparatus 110 may determine whether a preceding slot adjacent to a slot including the SSB resource is a non-SBFD slot. In other words, the first apparatus 110 may determine whether the slot containing SSB resources is subsequent to a non-SBFD slot, that is, taking place right after the non-SBFD slot, for example, DL-only slot or UL-only slot. In some example embodiments, if the preceding slot is the non-SBFD slot, the first apparatus 110 may determine (6030) that the first condition is satisfied, and the first apparatus 110 may determine (6050) that the SBFD resource is converted into downlink resource. In some example embodiments, if the preceding slot is a SBFD slot, the first apparatus 110 may determine (6030) that the first condition is not satisfied, and the first apparatus 110 may determine (6050) that the SBFD resource is not converted into downlink resource. It is noted that, currently, the indication of SBFD time-domain configuration (part of the second configuration) is signaled by the second apparatus 120 to the first apparatus 110 with OFDM symbol resolution. In the present disclosure, SBFD slot refers to a slot (14 consecutive OFDM symbols) where some or all its symbols are configured with SBFD operation, and DL-only slot refers to a slot where some or all its symbols are configured with DL-only operation. Reference is made to FIG. 8A and FIG. 8B, which illustrate examples of converting slots with SSB in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure, respectively. In both cases in FIG. 8A and FIG. 8B, the SBFD configuration as per the second configuration includes 5 slots DXXXU where X refers to slots containing SBFD symbols. As shown in FIG. 8A, period 810 refers to SBFD UL-DL pattern period, that is, DXXXU, and period 820 refers to SBFD UL-DL pattern period converted from DXXXU to DDDXU, since the SSB burst starts in a slot 822 adjacent to the DL-only slot 824. This results in converting the slots 822 and 826 that contain the SSBs from SBFD to DL-only symbols. In such slots 822 and 826, only DL receptions are allowed and the SSB may be in principle be placed anywhere in the frequency-domain. As shown in FIG. 8B, period 830 and period 840 refer to SBFD UL-DL pattern period, that is, DXXXU, respectively, since the slot 842 preceding the start of the SSB burst is a SBFD slot. Therefore, those slots 844 and 846 with SSB are unchanged, that is, still SBFD-slots as per the second configuration.

[0072] Referring back to FIG. 6, the first apparatus 110 may determine whether a duration between a first symbol of a slot including the SSB resource and a last non-SBFD symbol preceding the slot including the SSB resource is less than a second threshold. In this case, the first symbol of the slot including the SSB resource may refer to the symbol which is in the first one place of the slot including the SSB resource. In other words, the first apparatus 110 may determine whether the time interval between the first symbol of the slot with SSB and the last non-SBFD symbol preceding the slot with SSB is less than a certain duration. In some example embodiments, the second threshold is configured or specified. In some example embodiments, if the duration between a first symbol of a slot including the SSB resource and a last non-SBFD symbol preceding the slot including the SSB resource is less than the second threshold, the first apparatus 110 may determine (6030) that the first condition is satisfied, and the first apparatus 110 may determine (6050) that the SBFD resource is converted into downlink resource. In some other example embodiments, if the duration between a first symbol of a slot including the SSB resource and a last non-SBFD symbol preceding the slot including the SSB resource is larger than or equals to the first threshold, the first apparatus 110 may determine (6030) that the first condition is not satisfied, and the first apparatus 110 may determine (6050) that the SBFD resource is not converted into downlink resource.

[0073] In some example embodiments, the first apparatus 110 may determine whether a resource for at least one second SSB preceding the SSB resource is a non-SBFD resource. In this case, the at least one second SSB may refer to at least one other SSB preceding the SSB resource. In some example embodiments, if the resource for the at least one second SSB preceding the SSB resource is a non-SBFD resource, the first apparatus 110 may determine (6030) that the first condition is satisfied, and the first apparatus 110 may determine (6050) that the SBFD resource is converted into downlink resource. In some other example embodiments, if the resource for the at least one second SSB preceding the SSB resource is a SBFD resource, the first apparatus 110 may determine (6030) that the first condition is not satisfied, and the first apparatus 110 may determine (6050) that the SBFD resource is not converted into downlink resource. In some example embodiments, if the first SSB in the SSB burst is already transmitted in a non-SBFD or DL symbol, all the remaining SSB resources may be converted to downlink resource.

[0074] In some example embodiments, the foregoing example embodiments of the first condition may be applied for each individual configured SSB transmission. Alternatively, the foregoing example embodiments of the first condition may be applied jointly for the entire SSB burst. In some example embodiments, the determination on whether the SBFD resource is converted to non-SBFD resources may be done only for the first SSB belonging the SSB burst and then the conversion is applied to all the SSBs belonging to the SSB burst.

[0075] In some example embodiments, the second apparatus 120 may transmit (6040) a first indication to the first apparatus 110. In this case, the first indication indicates that the SBFD resource that covers the SSB resource is converted into downlink resource. After receiving the first indication, the first apparatus 110 may determine (6050) that the SBFD resource is converted into downlink resource based on the first indication. In some other example embodiments, the second apparatus 120 may transmit (6045) a second indication to the first apparatus 110. In this case, the second indication indicates that the SBFD resource that covers the SSB resource is not converted into downlink resource. After receiving the second indication, the first apparatus 110 may determine (6050) that the SBFD resource is not converted into downlink resource based on the second indication.

[0076] The first apparatus 110 monitors (6060) or receives (6065) , from the second apparatus 120, the at least one SSB on the SBFD resource or the converted downlink resource. After the determination of whether SBFD resource is converted to downlink resource, the second apparatus 120 transmits (6065) the at least one SSB on the SBFD resource or the converted downlink resource. In some example embodiments, the first apparatus 110 may receive (6065) the at least one SSB on the SBFD resource or the converted downlink resource from the second apparatus 120. In some example embodiments, if the SBFD resource is converted, the first apparatus 110 may receive (6065) the at least one SSB on the converted downlink resource. In other words, the first apparatus 110 may expect that SSB location may be anywhere in the entire bandwidth, which may include UL sub-band (s) and DL sub-band (s) .

[0077] In some other example embodiments, if the SBFD resource is not converted, the first apparatus 110 may determine whether the SSB resource is in a downlink sub-band of the SBFD resource or not. If the SSB resource is in the downlink sub-band, the first apparatus may receive (6065) the at least one SSB on the SSB resource. If the SSB resource is not in the downlink sub-band, the first apparatus may ignore the at least one SSB. In other words, the first apparatus 110 may expect that SSB location may only be in DL sub-band (s) (in DL usable PRBs) . Alternatively, the first apparatus 110 may drop or ignore the SSB if its location is outside the DL usable PRBs.

[0078] FIG. 9 shows a flowchart 900 of the foregoing processes of determination implemented at the first apparatus 110 in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. At block 910, the first apparatus 110 may receive a configuration for SSB transmissions from the serving cell. In addition, at block 920, the first apparatus 120 may receive a configuration of time and frequency configuration of SBFD resources from the serving cell. At block 930, the first apparatus 110 may determine whether the SSB or SSB burst resources are associated to a non-SBFD slot. If the SSB or SSB burst resources are associated to a non-SBFD slot, the first apparatus 110 may determine the resources of the SSB or SSB burst to be non-SBFD resources at block 940. If the SSB or SSB burst resources are not associated to a non-SBFD slot, the first apparatus 110 may determine the resources of the SSB or SSB burst to be SBFD resources at block 950. In this case, the number of actual transitions between SBFD and non-SBFD symbols can be decreased.

[0079] FIG. 10 illustrates an example signaling flow 1000 of SSB handling in SBFD operation in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 10, the gNB 1010 may transmit (10010) SSB configuration to the UE 1020. In addition, the gNB 1010 may transmit (10020) SBFD configuration to the UE 1020. The UE 1020 may determine (10030) whether the SSB or SSB burst resources are associated to a non-SBFD slot. After the determination, the gNB 1010 may transmit (10040) SSB to the UE 1020. In this case, the SSB transmission may be in SBFD resources or non-SBFD resources according to the determination (9030) .

[0080] FIG. 11 shows a flowchart of an example method 1100 implemented at a first apparatus in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the method 1100 will be described from the perspective of the first apparatus 110 in FIG. 1.

[0081] At block 1110, the first apparatus receives, from a second apparatus, a first configuration for synchronization signal block, SSB, transmission, the first configuration indicating an SSB resource on which at least one SSB is transmitted.

[0082] At block 1120, the first apparatus receives, from the second apparatus, a second configuration for subband full duplex, SBFD, resource.

[0083] At block 1130, the first apparatus determines whether a SBFD resource that covers the SSB resource is converted into downlink resource.

[0084] At block 1140, the first apparatus monitors or receives, from the second apparatus, the at least one SSB on the SBFD resource or the converted downlink resource.

[0085] In some example embodiments, the method 1100 further comprises: determining whether the SBFD resource that covers the SSB resource is converted into downlink resource based on a first condition related to a relation between the SSB resource and a non-SBFD resource.

[0086] In some example embodiments, the method 1100 further comprises: based on a determination that the first condition related to the relation between the SSB resource and a non-SBFD resource is satisfied, determining that the SBFD resource is converted into downlink resource, or based on a determination that the first condition related to the relation between the SSB resource and a non-SBFD resource is not satisfied, determining that the SBFD resource is not converted into downlink resource.

[0087] In some example embodiments, the method 1100 further comprises: determining whether a preceding slot adjacent to a slot comprising the SSB resource is a non-SBFD slot; and based on a determination that the preceding slot is the non-SBFD slot, determining that the first condition is satisfied, or based on a determination that the preceding slot is a SBFD slot, determining that the first condition is not satisfied.

[0088] In some example embodiments, the method 1100 further comprises: determining whether a duration between a first symbol of the SSB resource and a last non-SBFD symbol preceding the SSB resource is less than a first threshold; and based on a determination that the duration is less than the first threshold, determining that the first condition is satisfied, or based on a determination that the duration is larger than or equals to the first threshold, determining that the first condition is not satisfied.

[0089] In some example embodiments, the method 1100 further comprises: determining whether a duration between a first symbol of a slot comprising the SSB resource and a last non-SBFD symbol preceding slot the slot comprising the SSB resource is less than a second threshold; and based on a determination that the duration is less than the second threshold, determining that the first condition is satisfied, or based on a determination that the duration is larger than or equals to the second threshold, determining that the first condition is not satisfied.

[0090] In some example embodiments, the method 1100 further comprises: determining whether a resource for at least one second SSB preceding the SSB resource is a non-SBFD resource; and based on a determination that the resource for the at least one second SSB preceding the SSB resource is a non-SBFD resource, determining that the first condition is satisfied, or based on a determination that the resource for the at least one second SSB preceding the SSB resource is a SBFD resource, determining that the first condition is not satisfied.

[0091] In some example embodiments, the method 1100 further comprises: receiving, from a second apparatus, a first indication indicating the SBFD resource that covers the SSB resource is converted into downlink resource; and determining that the SBFD resource is converted into downlink resource based on the first indication.

[0092] In some example embodiments, the method 1100 further comprises: receiving, from a second apparatus, a second indication indicating the SBFD resource that covers the SSB resource is not converted into downlink resource; and determining that the SBFD resource is not converted into downlink resource based on the second indication.

[0093] In some example embodiments, the method 1100 further comprises: based on a determination of the SBFD resource being converted, receiving the at least one SSB on the converted downlink resource.

[0094] In some example embodiments, the method 1100 further comprises: based on a determination of the SBFD resource being not converted, determining whether the SSB resource is in a downlink sub-band of the SBFD resource or not.

[0095] In some example embodiments, the method 1100 further comprises: based on a determination that the SSB resource is in the downlink sub-band, receiving the at least one SSB on the SSB resource.

[0096] In some example embodiments, the method 1100 further comprises: based on a determination that the SSB resource is not in the downlink sub-band, ignoring the at least one SSB.
