Description

[0001] A SYSTEM FOR PREVENTING CALLER NUMBER SPOOFING Technical Field

[0002] The present invention relates to a system which enables a call to be blocked by detecting a change in the caller number, with the aim of preventing phone fraud.

[0003] Background of the Invention

[0004] Today, regarding emergency calls, specific security and connection protocols are used for different types of calls, especially TSP eCalls and regulated eCalls. Reliable transmission of CLI (Calling Line Identification) in emergency calls is critical for callback and providing accurate information to PSAPs (Public Safety Answering Points). However, in current systems, it is common for CLI information of third-party calls, such as TSP eCalls, to be lost or manipulated and this makes it difficult to verify the identity of the caller. In addition, in some calls, the possibility of callbacks is reduced due to the suppression of the CLI or its loss in cross-network transitions and shortcomings arise in the form of not being able to provide the same privileges as in real emergencies.

[0005] For this reason, considering the studies and deficiencies included in the current technique, it is understood that there is a need for a system which can detect caller number spoofing and enables users who make calls in the form of VoLTE, VoNR, VoWifi through IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) to be blocked.

[0006] The European patent document no. EP4432640A1, an application included in the state of the art, discloses a system which verifies the authenticity of incoming calls and prevents fraudulent calls by analyzing the caller line identification (CLI) information in emergency calls. The system included in the said invention comprises the analysis of CLI (Calling Line Identification), which is the identification information of an incoming call. Each call CLI is processed by the system when it reaches the call center and goes through a specific verification process. In this process, it is checked whether the calls come from trusted sources; the list of trusted sources and suspicious numbers for this process is available in a predefined database. If the CLI of the incoming call is among the predefined trusted sources, the call is considered trusted and is processed directly. However, if the CLI is on the list of suspicious numbers, the system marks the call as low priority or rejects it. This prevents fraudulent or malicious calls from traveling further through the system. After the verification process, the call center personnel classifies the incoming call according to the level of emergency and directs it to the relevant units. In addition, an automatic security process is provided for future calls by recording CLIs marked as reliable after verification. By filtering calls, the system prevents unnecessary occupation of emergency services and guarantees that emergency callbacks reach the right person or device.

[0008] An object of the present invention is to realize a system which analyzes the subscription information of the subscribers in calls in the form of VoLTE, VoNR and VoWifi made through IMS, and enables the call to be stopped by detecting caller ID spoofing.

[0020] Industrial Application of the Invention

[0021] By means of the inventive system (1), caller number spoofing is detected through the caller number information used in calls in the form of VoLTE, VoNR, VoWifi by analyzing IMS subscription information, and mobile operators, telecommunication service providers, phone frauds and other malicious call activities are prevented by blocking fake caller numbers.

[0022] Within these basic concepts; it is possible to develop various embodiments of the inventive “System (1) for Preventing Caller Number Spoofing (1)”; the invention cannot be limited to examples disclosed herein and it is essentially according to claims.

Claims

CLAIMS1. A system (1) which enables a call to be blocked by detecting a change in the caller number, with the aim of preventing phone fraud; comprisingat least one database (2) which is configured to keep a record of the subscriber registration information, call details and related security data of the user by storing the registration information of calls in the form of VoLTE, VoNR and VoWifi made through IMS; and characterized by at least one server (3) which works with interconnection and security systems in the form of SBC, GW-MSCS, Softswitch and firewall by querying and analyzing subscriber registration information stored in the database (2); determines whether there are caller number spoofing attempts by controlling the call flow in the IMS network; and is configured to enable the call to be continued or terminated2. A system (1) according to Claim 1 ; characterized by the database (2) which is configured to establish communication and exchange data with the server (3) by using any communication protocol.
