Abstract
A communication method and apparatus. A second device determines a first sequence, the first sequence being related to a first parameter, a second parameter, and a third parameter. The first parameter represents a root index of the first sequence, and the second parameter represents an index of an element comprised in the first sequence. The second parameter is an integer less than or equal to N-1 and greater than or equal to 0, N being the number of frequency domain units occupied by a first frequency domain resource, and the first frequency domain resource being used for sending a signal determined on the basis of a first signal sequence. The value of the third parameter is an integer greater than or equal to 0 and less than the length of the first sequence, and N is not equal to the length of the first sequence. On the basis of the first sequence, a first device generates the first signal sequence. By adding the third parameter, changes in the sequence are enabled to be more diversified, thereby expanding the number of sequences.
