Abstract

A media content transcoding method, which is executed by an electronic device, and comprises: splitting, into a plurality of pieces of media sub-content, media content to be transcoded (110); adding a transcoding task of each piece of media sub-content to a queue of tasks to be processed (120); when a transcoding node in a transcoding cluster makes an inquiry and finds that there is a transcoding task in said queue, pulling the transcoding task from said queue on the basis of the remaining transcoding quota of the transcoding node (130); processing the pulled transcoding task by means of the transcoding node, so as to obtain transcoded media sub-content (140); and obtaining from the transcoded media sub-content transcoded media content of the media content to be transcoded (150).
